I agree, the hatch is an outdated silly mechanic which brings more problems than it solves. I made a long detailed post about it not so long ago

So you have not solution and you just want to get your free kill. Then my answer will be same as other replies: No.
Thank you so much.
I like how you see free kill. But jumping in a randomly spawned hatch with 0, 1 or 2 gens done is not a free escape I guess? Only the bad guys want stuff "for free"

Unless your point is that bHVR need to implement some sort of casual and ranked mode. I don't see the issue with being "casual". You word it like it's a bad thing.
It's not a bad thing per se. But you shouldn't expect good results when the majority of the community is quite casual. They're not efficient and not very good in chase. You can't balance that

Yeah that will fix it.
Good luck trying to break a 3gen in a dead zone.
Watch some comp DBD and see it's impossible even by pros and that's after the 3 gen "fix"
They use the 8 kick change in comp? They removed the anti-camp mechanic in comp. Do you have a link for me where that happened?

I'm a member of some TCM groups and tbh, I feel like every time someone voices a criticism of the game they're instantly called DBD shills or something. I think alot of it is projecting - when TCM first came out, this forum was spammed with people talking up TCM and saying DBD is dead now etc etc. Now the assumption is that folks here are doing the same over there. I don't post on the Steam forum but I do browse there sometimes despite only having TCM on the PS5.
Everytime I check their profile they have a few thousand hours on DBD and don't even own TCM. People spamming "DBD will die" when an assym horror comes out has always been a thing. Friday the 13th, Deathgarden, Last Year, Alien Game. And I'm still missing some
-
Just attack both furthest gens in the 3 gen until the killer cant kick anymore. Shift+W instantly when the killer is coming. You win the war of attrition because they will run out of kicks
-
Not worth it, save your money
-
Big percentage of the DBD community is just very bad or casual. Some even refuse to do their objective. Just look at smaller streamers, usually reflect the casual majority quite well

I want to recommend you an excellent 3 gen build for knight. You need the Surge, Coulrophobia, Hex:Ruin and Hex:Undying perks. Surge causes all genes within 32 meters to explode when you drop one. And since all 3 genes are close to each other, all genes will probably explode. Coulrophobia forces survivors who want to heal to heal away from you because it requires almost impossible skill checks and survivors who fail must move away to heal. Hex:Ruin also counters the new anti-3 gene mechanic. Hex: Undying, a possebility appears in a very distant place on the map, reducing the chance of breaking. In this build, you need to keep 3 gens very close to your totem and protect your totem because if it breaks, you cannot kick the gens more than 8 times. Or you can change your Hex totems and equip Nowhere to hide and Overcharge. This works well if you kick a gen back so quickly that the others don't have time to advance that gene by 5%. I tried this build and after a while they started making jen without caring about me. If you play for about 1 hour, the game automatically counts everyone as sacrificed and the game ends. As add-ons, install the add-on that brings 2 cellarers in a row and the add-on that increases the patrol time by 8 seconds.
You'd want your totems to be within your 3 gen, not far away.

Probably because people don't WANT to tunnel and camp to win contrary to popular belief. Most killers want to go for multiple chases on multiple survivors rather than cheesing out a victory.
Don't you think it would be better if the game was balanced in a way that playing optimally was actually spreading pressure around and not going out of your way to eliminate someone as fast as possible? You'd see far less people camp and tunnel if it wasn't the most optimal way to win.
But they're killers not hookers. That's what you guys always say
-
I recommend you check the Texas Chainsaw Massacre's discussion section on Steam. Filled with DBD warriors spamming "Dead game" posts or giving negative feedback posts while not even having the game on their account. DBD has an extremely hostile gatekeeping sect, like a religious sect with DBD being their God
-
Distortion hurts the survivor team because it puts potentially more pressure on your team. As the killer will focus on the other survivors and kill them more efficient because the distortion person is being stealthy.
Only time it benefits a survivor team is they either ALL run it. Or you use it in a 4 man SWF on the Deli person. Keeps him out of first chase, makes him being able to set up for the first save and he can call out aura perks to the rest of the team.
-
Plague should be in "Gods" surely? Every hit is an insta down
-
Keep in mind DBD has no ranks, you're looking at the monthly reward Grade system. Which increases the more you play, no matter the results of your matches and resets every 13th of the month
-
I usually notice it when I watch streamers who go and play another game for a while, or when another similar game to DBD gets released. You have this very conservative sect online who defend DBD to death and attack everything else. Very hostile and toxic, but then again, maybe a good thing DBD has such a loyal following
-
People predicted this would happen though. When I saw the new regression change I was like, oh nice, when a Killer uses Pain Res I will tap it for 4 seconds to deny him to Pop it on top. But after 7,5 years of developing this still comes as a surprise?
-
Under what conditions would you let a Killer kill you?

Yes because camping is highly "efficient".
🙄
Well if it's not why are you complaining then?
-
Pain res + Pop Billy is impossible to beat
-
People already called this before the rework was out. When a killer uses pain res on your generator you can tap it to avoid Pop. Those 4 second gen taps are not even that much slower. So this was expected to happen

But I was not talking about not tunneling at all, my subject is more about the tunneling at 5 gens...
That "tunneling at 5 gens" always makes me wonder when, according to you, someone is allowed to "tunnel". You are probably going to say 1 generator or 2 generators left. But by that time you already lost as killer. You will be chasing someone, 4 people alive, one gen gets stacked, other solo. You're already cooked
-
Solo queue is usually bad because people refuse to do the objective. Or are too busy with side objectives (chests, dull totems). You don't have the luxury to waste time on that since you're already not too efficient because youre not on comms
-
As long as the objective is to kill, people will find methods to kill efficiently.
-
You were 1 of 2 survivors left. Did he slug you to look for the other? Because if you want to kill everyone and not lose to a Rng hatch some will do that to avoid hatch from spawning
-
Casual player, no backbone, no will to improve, beta. That's what I think
-
Nurse, 1 out of 34 killers who gets a streak like this (2 if you count Blight) makes you think DBD is killer sided. Oof poor you...
-
When the players are not playing well it's killer sided.
When everyone IS playing well it's survivor sided.
-
Are you EU? I play in a 30k+ hours 3-man. Often looking for a 4th

On the other hand, as killer, you can also have survivors run from safe pallet to safe pallet in an endless chain. It feels horrible either way, and there isn't much that can be done about it.
Some maps like The Game, Eyrie of crows but even simple maps like Coal Tower can definitely be in the survivors favour when it comes to pallet spawns. But on the other hand you have maps like Ormond which is completely empty. Why don't they set the same number of pallets for each map? We don't need 20 god pallets on the Game, but 4 pallets on Ormond is also a bit weird
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
The one map where this always feels apparent is wretched shop
I swear every time like 40% of the map is just a giant deadzone
Fillers also randomly got removed. Played on Pale Rose today, where they removed all those fillers mid map. Added trees and 1 pallet in the center. Also the pallet in front of shack disappeared. And yes, Autohaven maps also have just piles of junk but no pallets. If you're unlucky you can end up with T&L + Pallet gyms. Once you used those 4 pallets you're cooked.

you win some you lose some
Could also put this the other way around right? You escape sometimes you die some.

Bad manners. Certain behaviour to make the other person feel bad

@Quizzy said:
We have all been in this situation before. 2 survivors left. Several generators are left to be completed. Then the other person is downed and left on the floor for that sweet 4k that mostly every killer desires. Then something happens. The killer picks up and drops the survivor. Why, is the question we ask ourselves as they are doing it. Then, we begin to realize that the killer is trying to make survivor rat you out. In this situation, what can you honestly do? Even if you try to do a gen or simply hide, the killer will ultimately try to get the survivor to locate you.
My question is besides the reporting system, I want to know what can one do in that situation when both are trying to find you during the match?
If the survivor proceeds to do so, its reportable. And if this ever happens to you, just do gens. Killer is forced to eventually bleed you out

no its so they dont touch the gates
But each map has 2 gates, they will just yo-yo you until one of the two opens. After that they just all run out while tbagging you.

What is this obsession with blight being unfun to play against? I don't really get it. I wonder if they just fear people would quit playing the game if blight was actually in a balanced place.
Main thing is Blight has one of the strongest base kits in the game. (Maybe only Nurse beats him). But on top of this he has like 6 crazy add-ons. And then you look at all the other 30 or so killers who have a weaker basekit and maybe 2 add-ons (sometimes even mandatory ones! Like Bubba's award winning chili and beast marks) or not a single good one, like with Nemesis
-
What do you mean with "at high rank"? You mean at high level? Because this game has no ranking system
-
With cherry blossom add-on all Spirit will feel like cheaters. To create more counterplay the developers reworked her add-ons but then for some reason added the cherry blossom add-on.... which removes counterplay...?
But in case that Spirit wasn't using that add-on, very good Spirits can feel like cheaters because they don't rely as much on suvivor mistakes but with intuition and sound can feel very "oppressive". On top of that they can use expensive headsets and/or sound equalizer software. With EQ they can even filter with presets for every survivor. So if they see an Ace, Dwight, Ada and Bill in their lobby they can select those 4 presets and the EQ will have the best filter settings for their sounds. (Which, in my opinion, is borderline cheating. If not cheating)
Lastly, if a person is going to cheat on killer it will most likely be on a Spirit. As you'd always be able to explain suspicious situations. I've had 2 or 3 suspicious Spirits in my time of playing where I kept their Steam64ID and every now and then checked their profile to find out they got a gameban after a while (Now anon mode will make that impossible).
Not to forget a well known Spirit main streamer, who played for a competitive team, I won't drop names I guess, got banned twice for using cheats. You could see on her stream it often looked like she was cheating, as she was never really looking for survivors. Especially at the end of the game she would always "run into" survivors, without really scanning around. Even though I really had a feeling she was cheating, you can never 100% prove it. Even when watching from her perspective, and by that time I had nearly 2k hours of playtime on Spirit myself. I could never figure out how she was always able to perfectly grab the survivor from the generator (with old Prayer Beads), without "feeling around" the gen. Even I would sometimes be on the wrong side of the generator. She just phased straight up and grabbed instantly, always correct, even though by blindly guessing you have to be on a wrong side of a 4-sided gen at some point. On top of this she was constantly talking, about all kinds of things, when playing SPIRIT! Also when phasing she was talking about "her time in the army" or about the weather or whatever. And still phases always perfect, grabs always perfect, every game a 4k.

This is objectively wrong because very good killers have proven they can win regardless of what the survivors use. Momo is undefeated as a Blight main, for example. If SWF truly is strong, he and other good killers would lose. It simply has no logical reasoning to think high experienced goes to survivor. It seems to be killers are overpowered in both lower skill and high skill too.
I agree with OP that the game has severe balance issues and it really is mind boggling why it is not addressed.
You pointing out 1 out of 32 killers we have in the roster to claim killer is overpowered is a very bad take. But you probably know this as well. Where is the 1500 win streak on Nemesis? Legion? Myers? Ghostface? Wraith? Trapper? Chucky? or any of the other 30 or so killers?
-
The fact that you're fully up to date with all the unwritten rules (you mentioning camping, tunneling, proxy camping and what not) kinda worries me. You're only 100 hours into the game, you should still be learning perks and killer powers.

yes patrol the gates
So the survivors just run out? Seems like a bad play to me?

You can play how you want to play
-
Definite answer: They only see chat pop up the moment they enter the chat. Chat logs won't be 'saved' for others to read at a later stage. Even them going to spectator mode and back will make them miss messages.
-
Toxic behaviour is things you do with the sole purpose to make the other person feel bad.
That should answer your question.
-
They will just rush gens and get out like normal, strategy won't be changed.
Time is on the survivor's side now in a 3-gen. So if anything it only makes rushing gens and not caring about 3-gens even easier.
-
They answered this same question but then about Boon perks some time ago in their Q&A.
They want to keep the new perks close to the killer, they have to make sense lore wise. So in case they can fit that into a scourge or boon perk they will release one. But their aim isn't to create more scourges just to create more scourges.
(Not my opinions)
-
Where is the killer supposed to go after all generators have been repaired? Check the open gates so you can get your free escape? Or maybe patrol totems? What..?
-
It deactivating after a kill was not its problem. The fact that it's a Hex perk (it can get cleansed, survivors can even spawn on it) and the regression rate is 100% (so 1/4 of survivor repair speed). Those 2 are much bigger problems.
-
Prestige doesn't mean anything. It's just a silly number they added 5 years into the game so people can flex how many bloodpoints they spent on a character, not including the first 5 years they played. Silly
-
