I mean, to be fair, if chests are considered not worth it, doesn't it kind of make sense to add some perks that MAKE searching chests worthwhile?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see chests and items get an overhaul too, but ideally you'd see both a chest overhaul and some new perks that make it more worthwhile to search chests.
Just slap whatever chests perks as basekit and rework chest perks

did you know you can still dodge skulls by, I mean, dodging

Honestly respect for escaping more than 50% of your matches.

Yep this kill rate target with 60% is a huge problem. They should really focus on a fun experience rather than favoring one side as much. I still don’t understand why they don‘t show us the kill rates with dcs.
60% killrate IS the fun and fair experience in DBD, due to the "asymmetry" nature of much easier throwing on survivor's side
Any matches with a throwing survivors should pretty much guarantee a 4k, which means KR should always be higher than 50/50, and apparently devs decided to set 60% as a sweat spot
-
Majority of survivors aren't competent enough to get the benefit of slugging, actually quite opposite
-
@baharuto48 said:
It is way too powerful to get for free. Always slugging for the 4k. Makes hatch irrelevant. Ruins the experience for survivor solo queue. Allows the killer player to punish survivor players.
No, it's nowhere near too powerful to get for free, and hatches deserves to be irrelevant if killer puts enough effort because it's literally a free escape somehow granted to last survivors without any effort except pure RNG
Survivor solo queue is definitely not the place where balance matters, so using that as an any excuse is honestly wild
-
Only way to have fun in non-competitive team game, is to have fun, it's literally always the case regardless to the game
It'd be even more true for a game where players somehow able to abuse a mechanics to circumvent well deserved penalty they should get
At least we should start fixing that one obvious issue, I guess
-
Ah look, we are still discussing as if kill rates means anything meaningful
It's quite obvious survivors are fundamentally easier to lose just because of stupidity(mostly for teammates and challenges) rather than game balance, while not so much for killers, it only makes sense to aim for slightly higher KR especially if they want to make a horror game
It doesn't really matter if numbers are 50/50 or 60/40 or 70/30, because none of those numbers shows actual game health, if devs decided to aim for 60% there is a reason for it, and it's not hard to understand slightly higher KR is basically healthier for the game

I like how the OP and others can't just admit that they want a guaranteed 4k in a 2v1.
As if that is something too much of an entitlement
Asking for a win in pretty much 99% winning games is, in fact, pretty normal, not a "ridiculous expectation" like some ridiculously survivor biased players claims to be
-

The only one who doesn't want a solution is you. You claim you don't want a guaranteed 4k, but at the same time you say killers need an anti-stall mechanic basekit and survivors should get nothing because killer constantly gets shafted. In other words, you want a guaranteed 4k. You talk about double standards, but isn't that exactly what you're asking for?
Hook grabs being removed was an insignificant change. You can still interrupt an unhook, and you can still get a trade. The only thing that's changed is now there's no silly mindgame being played out at the hook that's going to result in the hooked survivor's death.
While it's certainly not always about getting something in return, when it comes to something significant like an anti-stall mechanic there needs to be a bit of an exchange. You may have liked hook grabs, but that doesn't mean they were healthy for the game.
You might not know this, but prior the AFC/grab changes I could literally stand right in the hooks and grab any savers and drop right below the hook, pretty much makes it a guaranteed 4k with ridiculously low effort
Not even One hit killers are needed because it works 100% of time against any solo players, it was extremely strong "strategy" that consists of as little interactivity as possible
Calling "hook grabs being removed was insignificant" really tells the amount of knowledge you have in the game, you really better learn a little more
-
At least he doesn't have any strange bugs, heh
-
Ah yes, another good reason to implement finisher mori WITHOUT basekit unbreakable
-
If hatch did not exist, targeted kill rates will be 75% instead of 60%, this is not a "game balance problem" because there is no way it's an oversight at this point
-
As usual, this really proves survivors aren't even trying to win for most matches
-
Tunneling is ruining many games to many peoples and developers are considering those feature as thematic element that is mandatory for the game

How is Blight both potentially A-tier and mediocre at the same time?
Isn't that just a way of using words? "at most" basically means "could be called A tier if you really insist to", so it's more in a line between B tier and A tier, and does not mean "blight is an A tier killer"

Pallet depletion, the ability to camp hooks because the anti camp mechanic is a joke and literally any killer can guarantee a trade at minimum, less areas to patrol as gens are completed so less places survivors could be, gen regression from kicking gens, even if you only killed one survivor the game gets exponentially easier for killers and the only gen that matters is the last one, I'd say NOED but that's a perk not a basekit feature.
None of that helps when killers are "losing", if anything those mechanics are "win more" mechanics because the more time killers can get BEFORE they start losing, the easier it will be
Out of al those things less gens are only thing that can be called catch up, even then if survivors decided to not 3 gen themselves killers are pretty much doomed, you really don't know how the game works
-
Effort it takes to pull off certain things are definitely changes statistics, and the fact survivors throwing is as easy as 1/4 of the team holding M1 thrice really tells a thing
Killers throwing on the other hand, still takes full matches, so it is definitely much less common than survivors throwing, not like they can open gates whenever they want
-

It was "fair", but it was definitely his ONLY anti loop capability, now he is just "hit survivors at open (not really if they are good at dodging) while running around fast" and nothing else, probably A tier at most
He lost strongest addons, strongest "quirk" aka bug, and now just a mediocre killer, calling him top tier would be honestly ridiculous

At all? That's funny because I've seen many killers get 4ks without slugging. As soon as the killer sees the second to last survivor, I should be able to self kill on the ground unless the killer is just so bad in chase already
That's just survivors not trying, of course killers can 4k when survivors decide to give it for free, even with hatches
No killer skill is related to that, finding completely hiding survivors are literally not possible and even bannable in certain circumstance, so yes, it's impossible to get 4k at all, as long as survivors are actually trying
-
Not playing the game for longer period shouldn't be possible, simple as that
-
They are literally acting against the rules and completely bannable if it's repeated offense, just that hook suicide is much harder to distinguish

I'm a bit lost as to what your saying, could you clarify a bit please? If it's that both sides should be respectful of the other, I agree 100%, and all we can control is how we decide to act regardless of what others say/do. I've said it in other threads, it takes a stronger person to not feed in to whatever is being done that's unacceptable, but it needs to be done to stop the nonsense. That and again, being cognizant that your playing other people and not bots.
"respect" only works when both sides have same sense of respect or disrespect, most people just don't really care much in things happening in games
If someone don't feel disrespect for the very thing they are doing, there is no way empathy or anything alike stops them from being "disrespectful" to others, so whether they have empathy or not is really irrelevant
And not like this game has "common standards" that can be applied to any players, because if that exists dev would start banning anything bad
-

If you decide to play in a way that a vast majority of the player base absolutely can't stand in order to win, that 100% is a lack of empathy. You are making the choice to say "I don't care who's involved & how they feel, I'm winning at all cost because they don't matter to me," instead of other ways that can be just as successful if you put the time in to learn it. There's no way around it. Not only does is show a lack of compassion or empathy for the people you play against, it also shows an unhealthy obsession with winning. There's all kinds of data out there to show this, and it's indisputable.
This is one of the biggest problems in this community. I'm not saying that you necessarily are doing this, but people try to make excuses for being horrible to each other to justify whatever they're doing. People need to stop doing it & start considering the other human beings they're playing with. Not bots, human beings. Both sides are guilty of it,so it's not one or the other.
Honestly, any common players are absolutely tolerate anything that happens in the game, as long as it's not the targeted harassment
Empathy really works when both people have same standards, which I doubt to be true
-

short answer: People who always feel they have to win at all costs have now optimized all the fun out of the game mode. This is with any game though. Once they discover the META then that’s all they run and the game becomes stale, boring and the same thing every match. Just like regular mode.
More like killers realized the time pressure in 2v8 is nowhere near comparable to 1v4, and since there is no perk builds or anything they are just forced to tunnel someone out if they want to play the game

Give me an option to self kill myself and the killer can get their precious 4k while I get to be in the next match getting more points and having fun. Anything where after 90 seconds or something I can just die since the killers family will die if they don't get the 4k. I just love being on the ground for 4 minutes because they're so thirsty for a 4k. Because once the killer is in chase with the second to last survivor, there is NO REASON for me to have to wait for them to down them, hook and then get me.
As long as hatch exists, killers can't get 4k at all, so your argument only works when hatch doesn't exists
Blame the hatch mechanics, I guess
-
If anything, I can see unknown getting killed completely because "unfairness of unavoidable grenade launcher that passes through walls", BHVR really love removing "frustration" from survivors at the cost of killer design

funny part is if they got rid of any bp hatch gives and any advantages an escape provides to survivor, and if hatch escapes TOTALLY counted as a kill and gave the killer all respective bps, achievements etc. this problem would be completely gone. saying "hey, but 3k is a win! be happy about it and survivor, you lost after getting hatch." is so utterly useless and meaningless when it gives at least 9.5k to survivor and takes any advantage of a kill from the killer.
Yeah, it really doesn't makes sense when people repeatedly tell anyone "you don't get anything from 4k, that's just your ego" when it's objectively giving so many rewards to any killer who managed to 4k
They are literally lying, just to make their own opinions "right" one

As I said, a killer qol change. This doesn't have any significant impact to slugging.
Here are two of my top slugging experiences in DbD:
Had a slinger who downed two of us by the basement at the end of the game. He spent 4 minutes shootng the ground within easy range of unbreakable hooks while we bled out.
Had a bubba who slugged me and farmed with the last survivor. I crawled to a functional hook, and he stood watching as the other survivor healed me up and immediately slugged me again at the base of the hook. He downed and hooked her just before I bled out after 4 minutes.
It isn't hooks that were the problem in the vast majority of cases. This doesn't reduce slugging if the killer really wants to slug. Period.
Forced slugging still affects survivors and calling it "Just" killer thing is ridiculously biased, whether it's rare or not it exists and there was people complaining about it
-
Complete removal of hooks were far more unfair than the thing you are feeling unfair today, and there was nothing killers could do as survivors are absolutely the only one who decide where to down, there is no way to move a determined survivors besides simply bleeding them out
-
Survivors are absolutely a team, just that BHVR refuses to make winning/losing condition around it for some weird reasons
Allowing SWF and calling it "no team game" is really stupid design

equipping 1 perk slot for something you cannot predict is stupid. That's a fine position, but you're going to need to expand your argument a lot more. Don't like slugging? Unbreakable. Don't like tunneling? OTR and DS. Don't like Spirit? Iron Will and Lightfooted.
That's not a rare argument either
-
Just drop pallets

removing free BP is never a good idea

Then, as i said before, if the outcome wont change and a 2k will lead to a 4k in the majority of games, not only will be a spike in people giving up but also the devs will be forced to balance the game around killers achieving a 2k 60% of times. This can only be done by nerfing killers heavily.
And for the record, Hatch escapes do count as escape in the kill rates.
or developers can simply stop counting hatch escapes, or increase target KR, they can do whatever to "fix" that problem
There is no such things as "forced balancing"

Would you rather have survivors give up and throwing themselves to the killer whenever they have a rough start? Because that's probably what would happen if you remove any hope of somehow escaping, even by hatch and buff the killer when it's already winning.
That'll certainly speed up each matches without doubt, and it really wouldn't change the actual outcome anyway
even though I like hide'n'seek with plenty of time at the end there is fair amount of players who hates 4k slug or existence of hatches, so it would be win win for either sides, kinda
I'd say just sacrifice everyone at that point but whatsoever

Really? I play Myers and Trapper mostly, and those are considered to be two of the weakest Killers in the game. I have a blast. Of course, I'm the competitive sort, and enjoy the challenge of overcoming adversity to achieve triumph. What is interested to me is that you seem to feel or imply that "fun" is somehow only possible with having the biggest or the strongest.
Then there is no reason survivors can't have fun, I'm just staying on the line with this post
Everyone preach "you can't play the game without anti tunneling perks" or "you can't play the game when survivors genrush in 3 minutes", so it is quite common and if anything pretty "normal" for majority of players, of course some people can have fun even in those situations
But like, you should know I'm talking about common sense, and not about extreme outliers who feel fun in literally everything of the any games
-
@Rovend said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3777993#Comment_3777993
In the common 2 surv +1gen scenario, survivors play for hatch normally as they cannot realistically repair the remaining gens. The chances of escaping are slim of course, as the killer can still slug the third surv for 4minutes to keep searching for the last one. Still the chance is still there that maybe one can get hatch.
Removing Hatch and giving aura read on top of that is just outright gifting a 4k to the killer every time they manage to kill two surv early, with no chance of comeback.
So survivors know they are completely utterly 100% lost and starts hiding to get "last one awards", which doesn't counts as win for most purpose, I wouldn't call that a comeback mechanics even
I don't even understand the point in giving comeback from literally every situation in PvP games, ultimately why don't we just remove any of the skill expression and make everything pure RNG, we will absolutely have "comeback" from whatever situation in that kind of games
And no, we don't even know if they actually counts hatch escape as escape for their balancing purpose, so "killers will be nerfed" is moot point
-
"only play killers" is such a broad terms and basically means nothing, if you play weaker sides of killers consistently, there is no way you can have fun
-
@Rovend said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3777603#Comment_3777603
Not having hatch and instead giving killer aura reads means that 99% of matches in which the killer gets a 2k with +1gen remainging will be an unavoidable 4k, unless the killer is outright trolling or let them go on purpose.
This would force BHVR to heavily nerf all killers so that getting a 2k would be as hard as current 4k.
2k with 1 gen remaining is already an unavoidable 4k unless the killer is outright trolling, I don't see any of the your point
