I don‘t think it would be as „strong“ as you call it. It would just make boons a bit more worth using and with the current boons we got it‘s not that big of a deal. Shure shadow step can be pretty annoying, but finding boons is still easy af since they are as loud as megaphone. I agree tho that a big factor of boons is the location.
Also one totem as item is one less toolbox….
Finding boons is never easy, those sounds aren't consistent or loud enough, it's realistically only be found within like 8 meters
And I'd say boons are already an EXTREME nuisance as is, vanishing it is generally a net negative for killers too, definitely not "bit more", removing only weakness(RNG nature) will make those things unbearable

That is quite objective, but for me he is strong when the killer player is good with him.
4.4m/s encourages more to use your power, which is more interesting for both sides.
He can be good, but other ranged killers would be even more powerful in hands of such a killer player
Honestly I feel he is one of weakest ranged killer across all roster
-
@Langweilig said:
Disagree. Killers with a strong chase power should be 110% or slower. For me playing around powers is far more interesting instead of playing around m1s. In tricksters case after they made him 115 it is most times more useful to go for m1s instead of going for m2s. He lost his identity.
DS barely has "strong chase power" to be honest

Boons are not good. I never see them in my games and I doubt you do. Nobody uses them for a reason.

I don‘t think it would be broken, but a lot better than it currently is. You can still follow the pools of blood.
Pools of blood is not something that exists all the time, and survivors have fair amount of tools to suppress it too
Shadowstep is already pretty strong as is, giving it a consistent value will make it 100% broken

I don't consider boons bad. CoH is still very good perk SWF.
Same for unbreakable boon.
If it was permanent totem killer needs to break over and over again, I think that would be too strong. Basically every map would suddenly be strong for boons.
And shadowstep is honestly broken when you can place it at anywhere
Every unique buildings will be unchasable nightmare

I don‘t think it needs to get permanently broken as long as boons are bad and shattered hope isn‘t basekit
Boons are good and since shattered hope is not basekit giving survivors permanent totem at any location will 100% break the game

I don't know, game seems to only getting better and fairer

The Japan-thingy is not really a valid argument if Rifts appear every 3 months.
No change needed IMO.
3 months isn't long time and the margin to finish a rift is not even that big at all, you only have 2 chances and if you missed one you are pretty much doomed
This is really ridiculous tbh
Oh and your reply doesn't explain why it SHOULD NOT happen, I doubt that's a valid argument to dismiss a suggestion that is asking for nothing bur fairness

Arent rifts only for like 1 or 2 months though? Youd be holding the cells for 3 rifts
3 rifts, still unnecessarily limited and forces you to commit into one specific rift during those period
It's not like playing on and off can results in 70 levels anyway
Basically you are not allowed to play like "buy the rifts when you got enough levels", because by the time that happens you lost the auric cells
I don't think having unfair disadvantage like this makes sense in any way

As someone who plays survivor more than killer, but enjoys both, WA+Franklin's being such a hot topic kind of cracks me up. I was ready to jump on the hate wagon at first. The hype of it made it look ridiculously OP and uncounterable. Then I played against it a few times. Real talk, it's a nuisance at worst. It can be kind of annoying to have to jump off a gen, pick up my toolbox, and walk it to the map edges. It wastes a little time, sure. Getting hit with franklins is decidedly more annoying because I probably will lose my item charges and possibly a BNP if I'm lucky enough to have one. If I get hooked, hopefully a teammate picks up my box and carries it to the map edges. They waste a little time. Not a huge deal.
The real villains in this perk combo are other survivors who refuse to pick up and move items when they see them. Like, c'mon guys. It's not that big a deal. And if you know WA is in effect, STOP OPENING CHESTS FOR NEW OBJECTS.
All in all, a lot of hate hype for no reason.
And you don't even need to drop the item to the corner while doing gens, you can pick up and keep doing gen like nothing as picking up the item already disables WA
Of course it's a little more risky though

Wasting their time is not a counter. If the killer gets to punish me for being tormented, I don't want to be tormented, and it is entirely possible for the survivor to counter being tormented (except for 1 missed edgecase), I should not be forced to be tormented.
Wasting killer time is the biggest counter, the reason you want to counter any of the killer power/perk is simply because you can waste more time that way
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Counter A - what if it is not my item? I get an indicator that the Killer has Weave Attunement, but I still need to find it. Should I perform some form of triangulation to find it?
Counter B - so I should equip a bad Perk? Just for that? I know that Killer players dont like this argument, but it is fine for Survivors?
Counter C - Again - bad Perks? Aside from Distortion. But to be honest, Weave Attunement eats through Distortion like it is nothing.
Counter D - What if others bring Items?
Counter E - Yeah, this might be an argument. But again, quite niche and again, a Perk which is not really good on its own and you will get little use out of it if the Killer has not Weave Attunement.
And meanwhile the Killer gets value even if Survivors perform Counterplay by bringing the Items to the edge of the Map. Aura Read when getting and leaving the Item, Oblivious for picking it up. On top of that it is also Slowdown.
All that values are nowhere near as any other strong perks, this combo is extremely weak and easy to counter for two perk slot

How often do you see killers rage quit? The discrepancy between both sides says a lot, unless you're one of the killer mains who think killers win most games because they're more skilled than survivors on average and not because the game is massively unbalanced.
Have you considered about the chance of killer players having a little more responsibility than most survivor players, I'm not saying this is a fact or anything, but I think trying to tie those things to the game balance seems like a worst kind of argument

I guess their reasoning for auric cells to unlock is that you get the same amount of auric cells back from the rift once ur finnished. I also dont know why anyone would buy cells 6 months in advance.
Except that auric cells you got back also expires in 6 months, which will force you to finish every rifts every time, or else you'll lose the capability to buy rifts

Those who can't stay in a match doesn't deserves to be represented in statistics, the game might as well not exist

I think I understand why Japan made this law. It's to prevent or mitigate people from spending money to virtual currencies. The expiration date encourages people from Japan to save their money from in-app or in-game currencies, especially those who are more prone to impulsive buying but I think that last reasoning may sound counter-intuitive since it doesn't completely teach them to use their money in the first place since they most likely already spent a bunch of virtual currencies. And why don't they just ban virtual currencies outright if they don't want their people to spend money in the first place? Who knows. I'm not a politician lol.
I get where the law is coming from but does it really work?
I guess the proof is in this comment?

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3756808#Comment_3756808
Sorry but that doesn't seems to be the case for me, it is not a law to stop virtual currency to exist, bur rather protect people from losing all of it before they can use it
All I saw was "a company must keep half the virtual currency worth of real money in case they goes bankrupt, but since this only came in after 6 months they can also circumvent this law by giving an expiration date of 6 months"
Basically as long as they don't mind extra work and having less money to use they have no problem in not having expiration date, just that some companies don't like it (or simply couldn't do such things idk)
And proof of this is majority of gacha games, online games or anything alike has virtual currency with no expiration date without any problem at all
And I highly doubt the rift key will be considered "virtual currency" in any way too

Losing an item pretty much loses you the game, yes.
I don't understand what kind of players you are, newer players don't even know the power of items, medium players can't get the full value of items, and veteran players can win the game with items but never rely on it

Hell, some hex perks can be reworked to act like that, if anything it doesn't even have to be called hex perks, demonic ritual or something

Gens already don't get done in my solo queue games. I guarantee Corrupt basekit would increase kill rates leading to big buffs for survivors to balance it out.
I doubt it grants any significant increase in kill rates, the biggest one who hits by this is the one who is not that competent to begin with

Hag is really strong killer. She doesn't need any buffs to her chase, she is great in different situation. It's not chase oriented killer.
Then giving her 5% speed barely changes that, 115% speed is nice but it doesn't really matter if she has no power
-
All good, you are basically asking killers to take franklin's item camping bubba, now with rancor too, until this perk gets nerfed
-
So basically you are asking for a nerf because of a situation where, Survivor failed to repair 5 gens against 3 perk killer, last survivor failed to find the hatches, and also failed to hide against the killer for 1 minute
I don't think the change is nesessary, like if killer brought perk to prevent last survivor escape, let them do so, it's not an end of the world

That's fun. Also it's another garbage thing that the bar isn't filled when others are nearby. Sure under some circumstances it shouldn't but it just leads to "allowed camping"

It doesn't make sense to NOT allow it, if they want to make AFC to be that strict we really should remove the hook mechanics altogether
-
Those killers are nowhere near overpowered and do not deserves to be nerfed, more like most of non mobile killers have serious problem in this game
-
It's funny but probably not healthy, kinda can work with AFC mechanics though
-
I wish I had an unlimited expiration date rift activator which is purchasable for same price at the very least, so I don't feel like "buy it and play like a job indefinitely, or else you'll lose out the in game currency"
This fact really stops me from buying rifts to be honest

I see this pop up every now and then, but I was playing during the time this apparently happened and never experienced these queue times myself. I guess it was a regional thing?
It is, even in today survivor ques at my region takes like 2 to 3 minutes, sometime they even have 100% bonuses and still takes same minutes
I suppose MMR also has something related to it

I don't think it's problematic in any way due to very strict nature of it, but camping with him is counter productive anyway, it would be better for newbies doctor to remove this

please refer to what Emeal linked, it shows the other games that have to abide by this law. There is nothing we can do on the matter - it's Japanese law.
I mean, I've googled about it and it doesn't seems to be necessarily like this, just that it could be a lot simpler with 6 months expiration date
I'm not exactly sure since I am not an expert, but to me it seems like this feature is there to avoid having an obligation to bank like half of the paid currency worth money to japanese administration (as which will be necessary past 6 months), it's kinda sad when a law that exists to protect people from losing paid things ends up working as a shredder to that exact things
companies from different country might have many difficulty to perform such process, I guess
-
@Mandy said:
Unfortunately there is nothing we're able to do about this, the laws in Japan are very strict with regards to virtual currency and the expiration date of the Auric Cells in that region is in-line with those laws.
…and why is literally any other games have no such restriction within in game currency
I don't really understand, I heard a speculation about BHVR is misunderstanding cryptocurrency law and in game currency law or something, I wishes for another internal review about that law or something

It's not that the post is about mass exodus or anything happened, but rather we had a time survivor que literally takes like a dozen minutes and more

I think hexes should simply have a power relative to remaining totem counts instead, so newer players don't get hurts as much as now while long term players won't demolish them as fast as now
Some totems have to be reworked completely though

And it's simply because kill rates by itself hasn't really been raised or lowered anyway

It eventually stops it, but it would still be very powerful up until that point. 8 kicks is still a lot. The only reason I don't think it should be lower than 8 is because it would start to affect normal games too much if it were lowered.
Either way, the strongest regression effects should not be obtainable without winning chases.
And it's nowhere near "strongest" than any other regression perks, even with 200%
The regression itself was never strong, only reason why it was meta was simply because it had best synergy with eternal skull merchant

It's not about just removing tunneling; BHVR has demonstrated fully they're balancing off of Kill rates and the current goal favours Killer. I have no issue with that; it's about having fun while playing. Being in a game with tunneling doesn't make many players want to play DbD; it makes them want to play something else. It should be a given that if Killer rates drop below BHVR's goal Killers will get buffs. That's a good thing. What's not a good thing, however, is the gameplay being miserable enough for one side that it makes people play something else.
It's why I missed a week of the anniversary event. Tunneling was prevalent enough that I didn't want to play Survivor and, when playing Killer, I didn't have the heart to kill anyone since the survivors I faced probably experienced the same as me. So I didn't like Survivor play at all and couldn't bring myself to play Killer as intended so I just played Stellaris instead. That's not a good sign for a game.
If I recall correctly you liked my suggestion about how to deal with tunneling which was a general gen slowdown while all Survivors are alive and a substantial repair buff when a Survivor dies so the ideal strategy would be to get all Survivors on death hook first so tunneling gets disincentivized and Killers also don't see 2 or 3 gens pop by the end of the first chase as often. That wouldn't need substantial general buffs to any side as addressing the core game systems would eliminate the need. I'm sure BHVR could come up with something that addresses game mechanics as well.
The point is, BHVR is obviously never seeing tunneling as a "miserable" or anything, and the chances are they aren't even thinking it is that common, results in literally no fix coming
The boringnes of tunneling has been stated repeatedly, even from killers too, but BHVR literally has no interest in ACTUALLY "fixing" this problem

There's still stuff like hard slugging. Killers can have a rough idea of what the survivors are gonna play like just checking their items, but survivors have no clue what they're gonna face until the killer's plan is already in motion.
The fact that you won't have the tools to counter a hard slug scenario if you don't bring a full anti-slug build to every single match in the off-chance that you face that one-match-every-4-days that has a killer dedicated to end the game by not hooking anyone and just bleeding them to death is ridiculous.
You won't know it's happening until the second slug, and by that point resetting would be a miracle. If one of the two remaining survivors gets into a chase, forget about the game progressing. You're gonna be playing catch up until the entire team inevitably bleeds out to death.
There's also NOED spawning next to hooks, making it impossible to make an end game save. Which sounds fair when there's still 4 players, but is kinda awful when there's only 2 or 3 remaining.
The counter to hard slugging is literally just play good, and no it doesn't require 1k hour skills, just doing good enough in chases and not get down within 15 seconds, basically exactly same as things you do against hooking killers
Realistically speaking slugging has no real advantages over hooking (unless you are a soloq and killer got the knockout/third seal, obviously), if all survivors gets down at same time, it wouldn't really be that different even when killer hooks, knockout and third seal is the problem and slugging is not
NOED hook issue is something but literally just pure RNG which doesn't happen often too, I don't see much problem in killer securing a kill at endgame anyway, it is already doable without noed especially when there is only 2 or 3 remaining
