I like the idea of incorporating perks into dailies. The dailies need an overhaul anyway as far as I'm concerned. I was supportive of the meta overhaul in update 6.1 but as time has gone by I don't think they should bother anymore. It just leads to new metas and new complaints. It'd be no different from last time if they did it again. Not to mention we got like 9 months of the gen kick meta after 6.1. That update was about breaking up the survivor meta but all it did was wind up creating an even worse killer meta.

PS5 user. Had this occur once and it was on the post-game screen, where you see everyone's bp gains etc

Tunnelling must be less common in Australia because out of those 12 games only 2 tunnelled, and 1 was justified because I ran into them haha.
I'm in Oz too and tunnelling isn't common here for sure. Maybe we're just more chill lol I played 6 survivor games today and no tunnelling in any

Great it'll be fixed next month
If we're lucky lol

It's a bug apparently, they're aware of it

Close games that can go either way

The PTB thread's feedback wasn't enough? This map is terrible

Yes it is. Updates are not typically that large

I took a look in the store and the Naughty Bear skin is 1,485 auric cells. Huntress skin is 1,755 auric cells.
Peanits said in another thread that Naughty Bear was part of the Halloween event and a special sale price. Apparently the Were-Elk's price is indicative of all future Visceral skin prices

Like I'm so serious. We fought so hard for other less played to get more recognition for new skins yet they are falling back on the same survivors. But at least I can save money tho.
Thing is, they did give lesser played characters more skins after the mass demand, and if they're falling back on the usual suspects then it's because people didn't buy the demanded skins. It would ultimately come down to the cosmetics department wanting to keep their jobs. If a company is spending time, money, and resources on something that's not turning profit then the employees (in this case, the cosmetic designers) will need to explain to their bosses why they should be paid for a job they're not doing well. At the end of the day, if Mikaela, Feng, and Nea are getting frequent cosmetics it's because they're profitable. We can argue that lesser known characters will be played more if they had better cosmetics but if that doesn't ring true on BHVRs end then we are out of luck
-
I like it, definite improvement.

Yes, I've played one game as survivor and it was unplayable. As soon as the killer was close by I was rubber-banding all over the place. Keen to get the tome challenges done but will have to wait.

If you're okay with it, please let us know which platform you play on and (if on PC) what the specs of your system are. This update shouldn't have an impact on performance, but we'd be happy to take a closer look.
Experiencing it on PS5. Only played one game but it was unplayable. As soon as the killer got close to me I was rubber-banding all over the place

Thank you again!

I believe these were the codes, though they're showing up as expired on that site. Can't hurt to try?
-
I don't even use Adrenaline and I feel the same. You've handicapped yourself for the entirety of the game purely for endgame value, risky when you consider getting to endgame as survivor these days is hard enough. I feel like that's a pretty full on activation requirement. Just my 2 cents.

im being genuine
i only run 4 aura perks on every killer
I am too. I've said numerous times on this forum that I purposely avoid meta perks

Was against a Huntress as survivor. As a Silent Hill fan, I'd become aware of DBD when they got the license. I started watching streamers on FB Gaming to see what the game was about before buying it, but only killer mains. Had no interest in survivor at that point so I didn't really pay attention to survivor games. For whatever reason though, I decided to try survivor when I bought the game but having not paid much attention I didn't really realize how important the terror radius was lol so I didn't even have the sound on and basically sat there wondering why all the other survivors were running away until I'd get smacked. I also didn't bother playing stealthily because the streamers I watched were obviously confident and ran right into the game, so I just copied them lol didn't take me long to find my footing anyway. And while I played killer on occasion, it turned out I preferred the survivor role once I actually started playing.

Hag, Twins, Freddy, Demo, and Doctor or Artist

I'm not familiar with this content creator but I did watch it earlier after seeing someone else talking about it. What do you find interesting and very good about it? That might help start the discussion you want to have

@BlightedTrapper said:
I would hardly call the new perk dead. If you suspect a survivor is hiding nearby, it immediately tells you. There are probably at least 50 killer perks that are less useful.
Agree. You get decent value for something as simple as opening a locker

I ran it on swf few times and we just stayed hidden early match and went all to basement to complete the ritual. Killer had corrupt too which he didn't get value. That match it worked good but the ritual should be shorter though.
Does it work through the gens under Corrupt? I know there were complaints that gens blocked with Grim Embrace wouldn't lose the 10 charges once the Invocation was complete

Did you track how many survivors in total escaped? That is more important IMO than your own escape rate.
For approx 120 games I did, then stopped. This post is about individual escape rates though.

@ExcelSword said:
I decided to track my survivor games officially as a solo survivor last night. hook first chase or DC's,
I measured 12 consecutive games, but 2 games had a DC on first hook and another killed themselves on first hook 30 seconds into the match, so I discarded those results. My own survival rate was 40% across 10 games, but overall escape rate for my whole team was 50%.I think this is fairly reasonable, my own escape rate could be higher if I prioritised myself, but I don't consider escape rates as the same thing as win rates.
The most games I tracked in a row was 421 with an average of just over 30% escape rate, but observing the results on a weekly basis was interesting too. I had some weeks where my escape rate dropped as low as 10% and some where it was 40% plus.

Blood Moon event. I've played 2 games since then.

I feel like they need a mix of both. Gigabuffing perks just causes more annoying issues like Buckle Up, Background Player, and Grim Embrace because in order to compete with the most used perks the buffed perks need to be buffed massively to the point they border on overpowered or overbearing.
Is there an issue with those perks individually, or do you mean their synergy with other perks? I know BU+FTP, BP+FB, and DMS+GE are complained about, but I don't see alot of complaints about them on their own.
BHVR seem to be okay with perk synergies, at least until it has a noticeable negative impact on gameplay (ie the gen kick meta, that led to Incapacitated being all but removed, plus the 3 gen mechanic). Their response to GE+DMS was that they're taking a wait and see approach, and I assume they do that with other synergies. Ultimately they have the means to break synergies that are having a large negative effect on gameplay, so I'm still keen to see them focus more on buffing bad perks but I do understand your concerns.
-
So when they started messing with the meta back in update 6.1, I was actually very supportive of it. I've changed my mind since. I purposely avoid meta perks, and have done so for a long time now. People don't have to play meta perks, and there's a reason they do (ie they help obtain their personal goal). If the devs want to add some variety to the meta then I'd rather they looked at the least used perks and made them better, rather than looking at the most used perks and making them worse.
-
Personally, no. I think it just wastes both the survivor and killer's time.

No matter how BhVR is, they should have done an immediate kill switch on the Glitches with Potential Energy and Endurance bugs. Are the survivors who are exploiting these bugs to increase their ranks blameless?
They very rarely killswitch perks. There was a glitch with Merciless Storm last year that took about 2 months to fix, whereby missing a skill check took the gen from almost finished straight down to 0%. It wasn't killswitched.
-
Mine is the same, though I havent kept stats over the last couple months but I doubt much has changed. That's with mostly non-meta perks too as I try to avoid meta perks for the sake of variety.
-
I agree. It's been a very strong year. BHVR have done well with their DLCs, we've been very fortunate. As excited as I had been for Alien, I think End Transmission was my favourite year 8 chapter.
-
And every killer game is Pain Res, Pop, Lethal, NTW, etc. There will always be a meta. What were your perks out of curiosity. Not sure why you covered them
-
Their only motivation is to win, which is probably why they picked the strongest killers to begin with. If tunnelling etc increases the odds of them winning, they'll pick that too.
-
I used Kindred for so long when I started playing, and I always said I'd never remove it. I think it's been a couple years now since I last used it. For me it was simply trying out new builds. I just started using other perks and eventually stopped equipping Kindred. I think it's an amazing perk for solo queue, but if you want to play without it I think just stop equipping it. You'll naturally adapt to the game without it. And game sense kicks in too. For example, if another team mate is on a gen and on death hook, and you have a hook state to spare, then it's probably best for you to go for the unhook. I still run into other survivors at times at hook, or the survivor gets unhook when I'm halfway there but that's just how the game goes sometimes lol

well I mean then literally don’t run invocation and expect your solo queue team mates to be happy solo is already unbearable as it is I don’t blame the team mates for being angry like dude I’m just being realistic
While I agree, and also find people using Invocation in solo queue frustrating af, I feel like voicing your displeasure by breaking game rules is a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face

I currently don’t always tunnel off the hook, especially if I find someone else while a survivor is hooked.
But when 5 second DS is live, it won’t matter if I’m in a chase or not, because when I hear that unhook noise, I should run right over to that hook, so I can tunnel that survivor, just in case they might want to weaponize DS against me.
Seems a bit counter-productive tbh. If the person has DS then you're reaffirming their decision to equip the perk. If the person doesn't have DS then you're basically giving them a reason to start equipping it.
-
Don't think there's a definitive answer to that, especially as the last lot of escape rate stats show swf are enjoying only slightly better successes in the largest bracket of players. Ultimately though, if you're solo and play solely to escape, then you're likely to be disappointed more often than not. Best time to play is during events imo. Loss after loss is easier to cope with when you're getting something in return, like bonus bp or special rewards.

Looks like unfortunately. They've overblown something that happens so rarely and isn't going to affect trolls much anyway because they'll just find some other way to mess with their team mates. They're not suddenly going to behave.

A "strong" one too. I'm a main character who doesn't mind their own business 😭

Forum is fine. Most people are friendly.
Game is okay. I don't agree with alot of decisions and changes. I also think the devs are a tad out of touch with the playerbase. I play for events and the Rift these days, as I don't feel much incentive to play outside of those.
-
Chill. Those aren't against the rules. Working with a survivor literally just means teaming up with them to take out their team mate/s together.
-
I'm a survivor main and have no issue with NOED. Perks are supposed to give you something to help you kill, counter, or survive. That's their purpose. I think the good thing about NOED is that it doesn't stand in the way of killers getting better at the game (hence i disagree when people call it a crutch perk). They have the entire game in which they're learning to play, developing game sense, and doing so on only 3 perks.
-
I watch alot of streamers (am watching Hens right now in fact) but I know some of their ideas likely come from a place of what is best for them and their bottom line. I notice there's very few popular content creators who are willing to put their bad games up on YT. They like to put up their best games, the ones that make them look good without even trying. Those get the views. They're also fully aware of the influence they have over their viewers with these sorts of videos, so I guess the best way to get BHVR to listen to what you want is to get your viewers to parrot it often enough for you.
I'm not a veteran but I was playing pre-SBMM and I used to purposely try and stay in purple rank because those games felt the best for me. As soon as I hit gold my games became so sweaty, and of course I didn't want to go anywhere near red. So i guess I can say that at least I knew where to find consistency in my games pre-SBMM. Now it's really anyone's guess what the next game holds. So yeah, I have my own issues with SBMM but my motivations are likely very different to most content creators. Is it that they want an all encompassing change to SBMM though, or is it all an underhanded way of asking for special matchmaking treatment for content creators?
-
If the other survivors helped then yeah, it's against the rules. If you just wanted one survivor out and ignored the others then the worst you could be accused of is tunnelling and that's not reportable.
