It's impossible to do gens against a decent Pinhead with this.
pay attention to me reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
the box spawns immediately after a chain hunt starts and if nobody's doing gens then somebody's after the box and it's only a matter of time
-
monstrous, bamboozle, agitation and iron grasp
monstrous because true basement bubbas run monstrous (don't even bother with insidious, be overt)
bamboozle to secure a down asap and break a lot of chainsaw-denying loops for people
agitation+iron grasp to extend your pickup range to basement as far as possible to get you going on your way
and for extra funtimes in the likely event they try to save at some point (lot easier if you proxy the basement than truly camp with insidious) is that red addon that resets charges on hit, can easily chase down someone with bt with that even after tagging the unhooker

Ugh, I really should have clarified better. I want these perks nerfed so that other perks have a chance to shine.
one thing i've been thinking about a lot lately is an alternate setup to the base game mechanics
like the current massive speedup after taking a hit is actually perk-based and that's your sprint burst
probably crazy thoughts but a dilapidated game designer can daydream

I don’t understand why ppl don’t play both sides more. Do they only eat peanut butter or jelly sandwiches and not peanut butter and jelly?
well they can't both gank a god pallet teabagger and then go work on a gen
but i'd do it if i could, god knows i've ran into a lot of ghostfaces that teabag their damnedest to get that damn gen good and done

I was being sarcastic.
That's definitely just a map issue, but RPD is a map fill of issues.
Honestly, that version of Smash Hits sounds way more infuriating. I already dislike getting stunned.
that is true
however: why is there a sprint-type exhaustion perk revolving around pallet stuns and what else could it possibly do that wouldn't prol be worse
-
@RenRen said:
I think it should regress after a few seconds.
oh ye i forgot to comment on the actual subject
it should regress to some degree, either you start the timer or you don't get to run out the gate with the killer on your [donkey]
you don't get to have it both ways, and pretending it's a fair mechanic as it stands because the killer can cede all pressure to do it themselves is disengenuous to say the least
-
@NomiNomad said:
You're right, because Smash Hit and Head On deserve nerfs.
ordinarily i'd support this but there's a lot of places on rpd where the only accessible hooks have an unavoidable corridor locker in the way
more a map design issue than a head on issue but regardless
what would you think of a non-exhaustion smash hit that amplified your pallet stun durations
-
i don't know what it is but every time i bring pyra out survivors are [eep]ing awful to me, between that and them screwing up the m2/m1 fakeout and the weird animation desync it just hasn't been particularly appealing to play with him, even if the interest is still there
i do way better with nemesis who i only have at lv1 i.e. only have rank 1 lethal pursuer and that's it anyway, i don't know if it's because for some reason my pyra mmr is insane and flips a tryhard switch in people's brains when they see one or what, i've started getting full meta + partial swf groups with nemesis and it just doesn't matter even given the freebie health state + speedup vs whip, 9+ hooks constantly
also zoms are very amusing when they get up to some shenanigans

Sometimes I do. The other 50% of the time the Survivors run in a straight line while I phase.
lol
well only so much you can do for people like that, there's no outrunning a 5 sec 1.5x sprint burst, even if one has to stand still for a few sec to start
i guess headphones are comparitively pretty rare on console so maybe it's not so bad over there in general, but my god
-
pretty much yeah, they created an elo hell where even babbo killers 4k every time vs potato hookbombers and either getting themselves turboslugged or trying to hide somewhere with their head sticking out + moving around
my new friends have probably dragged my mmr down to this or close to it by getting me killed constantly but at least it was kind of fun lol
-
..spirit?
so then you do get into a match and just get clapped by pallets + constantly bamboozled by survivors that know where the speedy blind girl is at all times
brutal
though if want a random anecdote, a friend of mine was winning a 2 party streamer game on haddonfield and went to pick up someone and then crashed

Well with healing that was more or less a joke idk why you'd ever want to 99 your healing, and I could explain why 99'ing a gen can be good, but that's off topic. My point was just that 99'ing isn't unique to just exit gates, and that it's a completely fair strategy. It's a matter of investing time and preparing an escape. It's simple foresight and a use of the time you have at the moment to save yourself time later. The end game collapse is there so that survivors are pressured to leave once the gates open.
As for it being an "easy escape" I'm not sure that's fair to say. The survivors had time to leave anyways if they 99'd the gate, but why apply pressure to your teammates with the collapse and give them a sudden time limit to get to the gates? If they are healthy or so far ahead of you that they can hit the switch, squeeze through the doors, and run out, then something happened to put them in that advantageous position in the first place.
And like other people have said, there is No Way Out and Remember Me to help stall the end game even further. A 99'd gate is certainly not a free escape. If you pop that exit gate your whole team (including the killer) now has however long to get out or kill everyone.
Consider as well that the collapse activates when you close the hatch on the last survivor, and if the doors aren't 99'd at least then they're probably dead, so it helps in that scenario too. It's just a benign, completely fair strategy. Survivors invested their time well, and should totally be rewarded for it.
That said, I do not oppose a small regression to 90% if that were to be implemented.
99 heal is more a thing for pre-sbmm when teams were more apt to have a weak link, higher-end survivors 99ing their heal with stuff like resilience/dead hard and baiting the killer to go for them when in reality it's a trap and actually getting a hook state out of them will be a nightmare
-
hello
i run detective's hunch on mikaela so i always plunk the blue in the most devastatingly obnoxious spot possible
like 2nd floor of coal tower
oooor anywhere on 2nd floor of midwich basically (especially on a side with a lot of gens)
oooooor anywhere on rpd (this map, this map.....)
ooooooooor the asylum building
or hell just any giant cluster of high-end tiles, shadowstep guarantees you an escape if they stop to dunk the totem and that's worth the 14 sec and in the meantime outside of being chased into it circle of healing gives you easy resets
that being said, solo people still haven't gotten a clue and will destroy a main building totem right in front of me as i spam teabag/point at them and deny a high-end placement and get the entire team killed vs a killer that absolutely wouldn't've been able to deal with scratch denial
-
weird how nobody's going on about tinkerer+ruin with someone being pushed off gens a bunch giving the killer effectively perma undetectable
i personally don't care much about tinkerer and/or its shenanigans because i remember what it was like before
the best i can hope for is that other really poor perk designs get such a phenomenal treatment, but it's unlikely

This is really interesting actually. I'd be totally okay with this. It isn't a surprise and it's still really useful.
it was always a bit odd to me that it wasn't an 'all or nothing' in regards to hex totems, it's certainly often used like it and from the thoughts people fling around they seem to want it to be that as well so that's what i came up with back then (even if they had it keep the stealth until revealed aspect like devour has, suddenly walking by a hex totem in the endgame or one that was not lit before would be a big red flag)

I don’t see how, do explain?
cage invalidates bt/ds and you can intercept them once they're saved given basement is a big one-way choke point
so if they're on 2nd stage to begin with then they just die if you commit to that route
but to be honest pyra's power can already do that with disturbing efficiency if you really want to and have good map knowledge so i don't care
-
even brown toolbox cuts like 5 or 6 seconds off gen repair if i recall which is quite significant, s'not bad but of course a kit would be more pertinent out of a chest
abdominal only being -4 would certainly be nice anyway, hard as hell to use the damn thing
-
i might be kind of a crazy outlier here but is anyone else actually thrilled to go against noed when killer's having a rough time (which is usually the case when they don't have a way better perk setup) and suddenly feel 'oh damn there's still an actual game to be had here'
ooh well, still an opportunity to plug my rework idea that'd work even better as a pseudonerf in boonpocalypse, nobody ever cared about it anyway
@Nayru said:
everyone's always heard like 'wowe noed should be like, not' or 'otz said only one noed hit per unique hook' or whatever, who cares, i came up with something that'd probably solve the issue of the bone zone
probably
when all generators are completed (re: not exit gates powered, this is an endgame perk, let's make it official):
hex: noed comes into play, taking over every single dull totem remaining on the map (3-5 if need rank scale)
for each hex: noed totem existing, gain +1% movement speed and a 'stack'
when a healthy survivor is hit with a basic attack, they are 1-shot and a hex: noed totem is extinguished
there's a bit of here and there with the design like perhaps it doesn't need the 'stealth' component of requiring a hit to show everyone they're exposed or if a used totem goes back to dull or is destroyed shortly afterwards (with the usual thunder-y sound to let people know the power is decreasing), or perhaps for some a failsafe where even if no dull totem exists, a mini haunted ground effect happens once and that's it (expiring on a successful insta?)
the important bits are the following
every totem in the map matters: anti-synergy with other hexes in the mix, cleansing a few totems here and there beforehand takes a chunk out of killer's +speed and potential instadowns
less all or nothing, noed can't just be ganked right after it comes into play by disastrous luck despite no bones being done
probably people feel less egh about noed in general: it -is- a valid side objective, every cleanse matters, and its 1-shot power is not something that lasts forever given each true instadown/cleanse eats away at it
either way, just a thought
-
i'd run it constantly in solo and theoretically turn one person's 1st+most of 2nd stage into literally all 4 other gens popping
but in reality they'd punt themselves to 2nd stage after 5 seconds of being stared at by killer and then miss two skillchecks
people, the absolute best thing you can do vs actual campers is make them burn every god damn second you possibly can if you're the one on the hook and genrush if you're not, kindred tells whoever has it or everyone what to do in this scenario, and even bubba can't prevent a bt trade

exhaustion perks were some of the last things i went after when i started playing a ton of survivor since i'm more interested in fun/meme-y stuff
sprint burst was the one i ultimately chose, when i actually put it on the game turned comparitively easymode (even in low mmr hell with friends) and i either was completely unchaseable for the killers i ran into (barring a few major sb counterers) and wound up 1-hooked to death in the end (so i started putting on the very fun and very fair ds-deliverance combo) or ran them for 3 gens before going down, that massive initial distance on some maps..
personally i don't think iframes should even exist on the 4 in a 4v1 game let alone a horror one but what can you do

I am against NOED on everyone, whoever the killer is, cause only truly awful players use it. And especially so on instadown killers.
okay..
but you're just wholly and utterly incorrect because at the absolute highest levels of play the killer virtually always has noed and a high-end result for them is to get like 3-4 hooks and a kill off noed - that's what winning looks like for the highest-tier killers in a lot of tournaments
i don't think comp killers that can deny a 4e to some of the best survivor groups that would trash a pubsquad in two minutes are 'truly awful'
nor random killers that have lategame oriented builds or a random noed amidst a bunch of low-tier perks, but i'll never understand the cult

By T3 a whip off a zombie he loses his biggest asset to locate survivor's by their walking path, so you you didn't get off on a gen when a zombie came at you? Well he already knew your general direction. So you know, play killer him specifically maybe he will not be easy to kill players with you know? Learn the other's side before you whine?
you are clueless
he had just killed a survivor off on the other side of the map and randomly stumbled across a zombie and whipped it en route to a different gen
the sudden extremely loud tier 3 sound caused a skillcheck to be missed on the actual gen being worked on and gave him the time to get to it, interrupt it and ultimately kill the remaining two survivors because it's one of the loudest things in the game and came out of nowhere
i dunk people with my lv1 nemesis all the time and the tier-up sound still scares the [sheesh] out of me because of its delay/volume
-
okay i'll bite
why the [eep] are you underscoring the_perk_name
and besides, i don't have to heal if i never take a hit in the first place because scratch denial is quite powerful if you've got corners to work with

she did actually phase after me after a short while and then got juked massively and immediately gave up and hooked them, but my god, no chance after the massive nerf, sheesh..

I think it works both ways. There are killers that camp, there are killers that tunnel, just as there are survivors who go in tooled up to gen rush. Neither can moan at the other. If you are a genuine player and you lose because you don't camp / gen rush and you are caught by the other side that do, then just take it that you are the better person and want to win with skill, then move onto the next game.
The survivors that annoy me the ones that teabag, but was really bad at the game. Sometimes I will play a level 1 killer just to get the challenges, I'm not really interested in going for a 3k or 4k, just need to brake gens, throw hatchets or something, so I spend my time concentrating on that, even letting them go to do the challenge. Then they stand at the gate as the timer goes down waiting to teabag. They actually think they was good and beat me, even though I let them go.
well ye, a lot of survivor players are super delusional in their interactions with the killer, you wouldn't believe how many i run into that notice i'm not really going for them and teabag after instadropped pallets and trying to hookbomb me and whatnot, only to then find themselves one of the few left when i stop caring about stbfl stacks and shred them from uninjured to downed in 5 seconds
i never say 'geeg' to exit gate teabaggers and this kind of triggers them even though they're quite literally disrespecting me at the end of the game, even if they're literally the only one that lived and even-even if that's only because i didn't proper tunnel them out after they forced me to eat their ds and then ran to a deadzone, but one shouldn't concern themselves with people that betray their irrespectability regardless

@Mandy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/289089/bout-time
First of all, the killer is supposed to be stronger than the survivors, they're supposed to move faster - it's one killer against 4 survivors. If the killer is focusing on one survivor, the other survivors can just get the gens done.
Aura reading perks are so useful to a killer - perks like BBQ discourage camping, by giving the killer the locations of other survivors, so they can immediately begin pressurising the map and allow the other survivors to make a save.
I do suggest playing both sides in this game, I find players who do that have a lot more understanding about the frustrations that both sides feel.
though to be honest i feel the need to note a few things with my dualsided experience
the killer isn't really that much stronger than survivors else looping/shift w meta wouldn't be much a thing, killers that actually -are- that much stronger than survivors and fairly approachable take major nerfs until they're not (unless you're referring to low mmr games where the distance from one survivor to another is approximately 8 meters from their hooked friend, iiiin which case..)
aura stuff is pretty rare on killers and the ones that exist either only come as you're losing (gen completion) or with serious requirements/cooldowns, sometimes downright even meme level (in barbecue's case 40m away is generally useless on small maps and especially horrid if it's something like midwich, when their aura isn't being obscured by a generator or they're just lockering it)
now if the standard movements were 120/115%, less god pallet spam on maps like gideon + insane tile setups on maps like abattoir.. well, unlikely
-
@anarchy753 said:
I don't care that you can't bodyblock the unhook, but I really hate how hard the game prioritises hitting the person being unhooked over the one unhooking. Feels like a 1 degree cone where it will actually accept that you're behind the survivor and not swinging all the way around them.
their hitbox is pretty large and takes priority ye, you can also be pulled into hitting them by autoaim
just wait for unhook hits, they're stunned in place for long enough to walk around and guarantee the hit before unhooker can move anyway (though it'd certainly be nice to deny them more of the speed boost for hookbombing in your face)
-
i concur with killer accurate hook information notion
the amount of people i've randomly killed off without realizing their teammates let them hit 2nd stage is quite immense
similarly, if for some reason i actually wanted someone proper dead, i would be very aware of their current hook state
denying that information probably leads to a lot less of a fun experience in general, decent tryhardy killers are already keeping a note of who's death hook or not anyway so throw killers that care a bone

Pretty much every single killer I get matched with only does those things. They will always, always, always tunnel and even camp, if you wasted enough of their time. And NoeD? Even those who play Nurse and Leatherface/instadown killers use it. Pathetic players always go for the easiest way around, and there are lost of them in this game, whatever the platform. And before anyone says anything, the same applies to 4 men SWF only survs.
are you one of those people that gives me [sheesh] for having noed on bubba even though my perks on him are awful (i just farm wee)
+4% speed isn't bad for a chainsaw dash (have you seen what penalty you have to take to get that from addons?) + you would probably not expect how many extra hook states/outright kills you get out of someone getting instadowned by an instadown killer in a scenario they didn't expect (i.e. going for the vault in front of the exit gate where it's physically impossible to catch them with chainsaw and thus hook them except WHOOPS)

if you don't take franklin's on hag vs an item heavy group (especially with multiple flashlights or medkits) you're missing out

well yeah, kindred (a very obscene perk especially with open handed) immediately shows killer aura upon hook, aaaand then you see them stand there....... and then they disappear............. not too hard to figure that one out
if you really luck out and pick a kindred runner yourself, everyone sees that (and then they still all hookbomb and die instead of genrush because survivors)
that said, easily the best perk in the game just because sometimes you get to see an elodie and ghostface rather than having a hookgrab standoff viciously teabagging at eachother at the hook
