Force choking to instant down.
Force throw to hook within line of sight.
If he didn't have these then it's a worthless addition to the game.

It's a killer jumpscare noise. It has nothing to do with Ghostface in general. If the Ghostface didn't move there it wouldn't of played.

I'll take things that don't happen for 200 Alex. And even if so, they also DC for the reasons I gave in which survivors cannot. So therefore, killers disconnect and dodge at the same if not a higher rate as survivors do and for more reasons, all while putting the blame solely on survivors. That's called entitlement.
You would lose that one. Survivor dodging is well known and even meme about. It's not some edge case.
This issue I have with you is equating lobby dodging and DCing in match. These are not equal even if you or I believe both to be bad.

How do both sides do this when survivors cannot see anything about the killer? The match begins when the offerings are burnt. If you disconnect after the offerings are shown, people have to wait for the game to realize the player disconnected. That wastes so much time. You're thinking of lobby dodging, which only the killer can do in response to survivors. The survivors know nothing about what the killer will bring until the match starts, aka the offerings screen.
Killlers can dodge lobbies because a survivor is wearing a hat. In other words, dumb reasons.
Survivors dodge other survivors for similar dumb reasons. And soon, they can dodge because another survivor is bringing a non-meta build.

The point of anecdotal evidence aside, you are also assuming that they are disconnecting for those reasons you gave, without asking them for their rationale. That implies you 100% know the mentality of every single person who has ever "gone next" against you. So in other words, no you don't know.
Also to make an equivalent statement, assuming people are disconnecting for your killer selection, being first found, etc, do you know how many killers disconnect on the load screen when they see a map offering? I would also consider the killer offering screen dc an epidemic. Killers are allowed to "go next" for free, without penalty, all because they don't like the map. Or, better yet, they can just stand in a corner for the entire match if they massively lose their first chase, wasting everyone's time, trying to farm sympathy from the survivors.
If you're going to complain that this is only a survivor issue about not wanting to play against unfun or boring things in the game, at least acknowledge killers do the same thing to the same degree.
There's a clear difference between in the lobby and in the match. Your time waiting for a match is violated if a player leaves after the match starts. If someone leaves in lobby they are replaced. Besides, both sides do this and I expect one side to do it more often when perk builds get displayed in lobby.

So then 75% of the playerbase is entitled children, so we are doomed regardless in your view.
It does surprise me just how little compassion and how deeply tribalism has taken hold. "It MUST be that the other side is out to get me, there's no other possible explanation."
I certainly don't believe its 75%. Where did you get that number? Also, yes, IF 75% of the player base does gives up every match the game is doomed.
Where's your compassion to the players that actually want to play but have to deal with selfish ######### who quit because they happen to be found first?
This isn't about killer vs survivor, but yes its mainly survivor because survivor is the only role where quiting results in the match continuing. A killer that doesn't feel like playing a losing match has no ability to leave early without penalty. They can stand in a corner or leave the match with penalty. In other words, they are forced to play a losing match to the end. 😱 Yes, I know. How dare we expect that.
Maybe we should nurture a culture of killers DCing if a gen pops before getting a hook? I wonder how quickly your compsssion would change to disdain.

And you've never stopped to ask yourself WHY? You just assumed everyone else to be entitled brats?
They are real people with real feelings about the game, same as you.
They are likely frustrated by how poorly the Survivor experience seems to be going these days. A bad first chase often leads to a poor game. Seeing a strong Killer usually means the match will be over quickly, without much opportunity to gain BP or Archive progress.
There is little reward to "toughing out" bad games as Survivor. The BP gains are abysmal, Archive progress often directly detrimental to your team and the frustration of playing well and having nothing to show for it builds up over time.
Survivor is uniquely frustrating in that you can play perfectly, but it won't matter if your team doesn't play well. You rely on them, and yet BHVR refuses to consider it a team game, opting to consider it a 1v1v1v1v1 instead.
All of this builds and builds until people chase a perfect match. This is what we are seeing now, years of build-up. We have to address how miserable the player-base is if we have any hope of fixing this issue.
And here we are. Why, why, why. When you bring up these survivors are killing themselves on first hook of the match, they just say its because of the 5 matches prior. Bullshit
Seeing a strong killer? This occurs with all killers! Regardless of how "nice" you try to play. Quit making excuss for babies ruining other player's experience.
OP is right. While BHVR doesn't count matches with DCs, they still count 3v1s where one survivor offs themselves 5 seconds into the match. Also, no this isn't recent. It's been going on for years. Just before they would DC before hitting the ground.

The remaining player can do whatever they want. They can play it out, they can leave, its absolutely their preference.
To what end does that accomplish? The game at that point is over. The game has always been over at this point. The abandon system changed nothing about it. That's why I mentioned something like mate in 3. You could have a human being in the other seat, the best chess playing computer in the world, or an empty chair, and the result will be absolutely the same.
To make a move is pointless because you are no longer playing a game you are performing a chore. The killer has always been performing a chore at this point. Nothing about that has changed. The quicker we can get past something pointless like that, the better.
The end result of this will be players changing how they play. If the mentality becomes, you win when the other player gives up, that will become the goal. During the PTB where they changed the mori system to end the match as soon as all four are down. Well that will become the norm.
Because what does it matter if the survivor is a person or a bot, right? Getting survivors to abandon will be the win.

But the pieces are still right there, on the board, totally unchanged. In this scenario the person playing chess can still play out the same exact moves as they would have if they desire to do so.
Nothing the survivors have done have inconvenienced or slowed down the killer in anyway. If the killer wants to play it out its going to take the same amount of time as if they survivors stayed in the game. If the killer doesn't want to stay, they now get the added benefit of leaving the match more quickly. The only thing that has changed is the awareness that there is no human on the other end watching the screen.
In my scenario the pieces are thrown about because the player left with other player having to clean up.
But lets just take your scenario for a second and say the other player just left without destroying the board. Are you then asking the remaining player to make their move? To what end does that accomplish? The game at that point is over. To make a move is pointless because you are no longer playing a game you are performing a chore.

Who is the person flipping the table in DbD? This sound more like someone who said mate in 3 and the other player conceded (though with the added detail that the mate in 3 wasn't necessarily a few quick moves).
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3939881#Comment_3939881
You can't just discount the 'killers have agency' argument because its true. All the survivors being down is not equivalent to the gates being opened. Its an asym, things don't always have a direct comparison between the sides.
If there was an equivalent scenario, absolutely. Like if they did it so all remaining survivors were in the exit gate that would probably be about the closest to the all survivors downed scenario.
Only if the game ends right there but it does not. The killer has two choices. Hook the bots or abandon the match as well. So pick up the pieces or leave the table too.

It's the same as saying an AI girlfriend is the same as a real one.
No?!?
That is a very, VERY different scenario.
Lets say you're up against a strong team and they completed gens faster than you can get any hooks in. But they make a mistake an snow ball to a defeat. Say one is dead, one on the hook and another on your shoulder. Instead of unhooking the last survivor runs up to you and body blocks the hook. You down them because what else can you do. Then almost instantly all three abandon the match. Leaving you to clean up.
But you didn't play against bots in this scenario, you played against players and they happened to lose, it happens. By the time the abandon feature becomes an option the game is over.
There is no more gameplay except picking up survivors and hooking them. There is no difference between hooking bots and hooking people. All of the gameplay is done.
Allow me to give a hypothetical.
You are playing chess in a puble match setting. When it's clear you will win the other player flips the board and walks away. You technically won and are able to go onto the next match. You pick up the pieces and play the next person. They too flip the board when it's clear they will lose.
Now for how long would you continue to play?

You're missing the social aspect. If a match end by everyone quiting then what is the point if an end? The Devs might as well kept the automatic mori system.

Exactly!
If four man slugging wasn't as prominent as it was, there would be no need for the abandon feature.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3939521#Comment_3939521
But… why? Hooking a bot and hooking a player is the exact same thing.

Let me ask you, how is this healthy for a PvP game? You don't play this game to face bots. You don't play this game to beat bots.
If you play any real world sport and the other team/player just walks away, without warning or concession, wouldn't that be poor sportmanship? Isn't that a problem?

Sportsmanship
Would it be alright for the killer to leave the match once the gates are powered, or even when the last gen pops? The result would be the same, right? Survivors would receive all due points without wasting the killers time having to chase them out or wait out the collapse timer.

Killer behavior is why the abandon feature was even added.
Yes, most features come from survivor complants. But that doesn't mean what the Devs came up with is a perfect system.

They really should put in a delay timer to give the killer a chance to hook. I've seen survivors purposely run towards me just to get down and trigger the abandon feature.

In the US you need to be 18 or older to buy not play. If a parent buys it then its all good.

It shows 4 man SWF literally has less escape rates than Solo…
Or do you mean exclusively in high MMR? Because i don't think i need to explain how high MMR is not representative of the playerbase, or of 4man swf overall, specially when chances are the High MMR 4 man swf are the same pro competitive SWFs playing 24/7 and even they can win as many games as Blight/Nurse mains. Even Oni mains win more than High MMR swfs.
Escape rates for 4man swf even went down since 2024….
Wonder how you're gonna deny these stats. Eager to see.
And low MMR is? You do know a new killer vs new survivors the killer is going to win far more than 60% of the time. So lets talk high MMR. This is where every player is playing sweaty to win and the escape rate is higher than lower MMR? How are they doing that when the killer is so OP and unbeatable. Where the killer can simply camp and tunnel to victory.
-
Killers used to block the unhook prompt but now its a big issue.

But SWF don't have higher escape rates than solo Q according to stats. And highest SWF winstreak is 400 wins in a row, while highest killer winstreak is 2000 wins in a row.
Seems this whole "give up" epidemic toxic killers are crying about is not the culprit of survivors losing non stop and killers winning every match
The last stat update did show a much better escape rate as a SWF.
-
Kill rate is 60%. That does not mean a 60% 4k rate, it's 60% of all survivors playing. That averages to one or two surviving each match.
What is killing survivors a lot more today is not the killer. Well yes, the killer is the one killing them but what I mean is other survivors are throwing far too often. In turn, dooming their teammates to a hatch game or death. This is mostly plaguing solo queue thus one of the reasons escaping is easier in a SWF.
-
When a player comes to this forum and complains that not one match, but every single match they face "same annoying thing". It is completely reasonable to suggest the very game mechanic that mitigates that issue.
You cannot change how other players play, only yourself. I know some want to shame others into playing how they want but forget this is the internet and we have no shame. If you are not willing to adapt to your enviroment then don't expect the outcome to change.
-
I believe the issue with a spider killer is a technical limit than an phobic one. A spider would be wide and short which doesn't fit well with current level layouts. It would involve code to make the legs crawl up walls in narrow areas which would certainly be buggy as hell.

It's 20 matches before you go down a point. It's not like you are waiting 5 minutes between each match. If you rage quit one match it isn't the end of the world. Just quit quiting for 20 matches and your slate is clean. If you can't help yourself, then you are waiting 10 minutes.

Well, the first argument applies either way, but for the record I don't actually think it's impossible to fix tunnelling. Honestly, I don't even think it'd be that hard?
If it were me, this is what would be on a PTB to test: When unhooked, survivors lose collision instead of gaining Endurance, alongside the basic Haste. Both last a little longer, both cancel on Conspicuous Action, and survivors can't use items until the effect disappears.
Fixes tunnelling, can't be abused, everyone wins.
Either way, BHVR are planning on weakening tunnelling, and have been trying to this whole time. There's a good chance they'll eventually succeed.
Lose collision for how long? Killers already chase unhooked survivors and wait out the endurance timer. If the timer last too long then the survivor can troll. Think old Freddy where awake survivors still affect M1 aiming.

Yeah?
It doesn't look like it's dying any time soon, you still have the ability to think about your long term results.
Tunneling is nothing new and the game has been around for a long time. The reality is you cannot stop it and neither can bhvr without making the survivor invincible which we've already seen the result of. DS used to make survivors invincible. They could repair a gen right in front of you without worry. If you grab them you get stabbed. That's the kind of stuff that happens when you remove the ability to "tunnel".
