Its a bug and it would not matter if you don't scream as the locker will not block the killer instinct that he also gets so he would know you are in there.
Ohh right. I forgot he ALSO has killer instinct 🤣

And to paraphrase what people keep telling you who repeat that:
It's a wholly ignorant argument.
Other killers don't get free info and infinite duration mobility to just permanently scour the map ping ponging from survivor to survivor WITHOUT the need of perks, like Jason can. Other ranged killers aren't 4.6 which makes him oppressive in chase. You will never NOT be in a chase while playing Jason.
People wouldn't care about getting in a chase with Jason if he wasn't disgustingly oppressive in said chase. I unironically, prefer getting chased by Kaneki than I do Jason. I have more counterplay against Kaneki then I do the 4.6 killer with one of the best ranged attacks in the game.
Other killers on top of all that, don't also then get to just appear immediately on top of their target, with little to no warning, leaving them no real room to create distance and have a chance. Every single other ranged killer is not only 4.4 but also has plenty of warning that they are coming which lets you actually do what you're meant to do against ranged killers which is create distance. Jason completely skips that and follows his own rules. He gets to just appear with no real warning from 3 feet away, inflict you with exhausted for 13 SECONDS with an addon so you can't even create distance with something like a sprint burst to make up for the fact that he doesn't give you time to get away like every other ranged killer.
It's literally a lose-lose. You either don't do gens, to which progress is completely halted and you may even lose progress to ruin. Or you do the gen, but then when he shows up you now have to deal with a massively oppressive in chase Jason that just afflicted you with 13 seconds of exhausted because you decided to play the game in his presence. Oh and don't bother trying to do totems to because… he can see that as well!
He. Is. Poorly. Designed.
He is not the best killer in the game. He is not even top 3. That does not mean he is not a problem in his own right. His design just stacks too much on top of each other. If you do the counterplay? You get punished. If you don't do the counterplay? You get punished. There's no real correct decision other than force yourself into a chase and pray to god the Jason player can't aim.
One part of his kit I don't know if its a bug or not. You still scream while still in a locker. So atm if its a bug or a feature not even lockers can counter him.

Hag players are the most dedicated mains I swear. Every time I see a Hag player give feedback it's always an essay that's usually pretty well thought out just so BHVR can brush it off because of her low playrate not making her a priority.
From what I remember I don't think the lunge idea works because if I remember correctly there are scenarios where you can have coup equipped and still not be able to hit out a teleport so it'd have to be something mental like 120% or something.
I think doing something similar to her like trapper where you get haste after setting a trap could be an idea. it gives her the ability to chase without relying on bloodlust while still encouraging relying on the traps. Although it might make the setting speed add ons too good.
I dont know where I heard this but long long looong ago Cote said that Hag was his favorite killer and just seeing how she has just kinda been forgotten really is sad :(
-
A hag thing I think would be neat would be to change her traps to different trap types that she can choose between. Like take the add on that makes the traps able to body block once triggered. Make it she can pick between a wide range of different traps that can do different things. One to body block. One for extra tp range. Things of that nature I think could be cool.
I understand balancing this would be a struggle for bhvr since ya know…bhvr. But I want her to keep the core of her power as I think she is a pretty cool killer :)

I am hoping with these big change it will bring about some great balance across the game in terms of stability, killer balances/bugs from coding etc. I am looking forward to the updates to graphics and audio. The audio is already AMAZING, as I love sound design so I really am excited to see the development of all of this.
Its cute how hopeful you are 😂

Probs bugged.
Sometimes the killer will spawn on top of the survivors as well.
-
Just a few points from little old me.
-Killers say this game is survivor sided but operation health was pretty much canned because killers/killer streamers complained so how can it be survivor sided if killers got their way??
-S tier killers bottle neck killer balance so much that you cant buff killer in any meaningful way because of them
-MMR just doesnt exist. I go from an amazing team of survivors who actually know what they are doing to my next match of survivors being human bots.
-Most survivor perks are so dogshite thats why survivors mostly use windows or gen perks.
-This one is a bit more personal but can we please for the love of god have an option to turn off the profanity filter????
Gotta say this post was kinda fun to think about.
-
Sorry it really isnt.
-
My team would use Bond to lure the killer to me and use me as bait because they dont want to be chased. No thank you.

@Rogue11 I appreciate your point too…the stretched res comparison is actually a good example of how people often defend things by saying “it just looks better” while ignoring the gameplay advantage side of it.
And honestly, I don’t think we should just give up discussing it because “BHVR allows it right now.”
Games change. Rules change. Community feedback matters.
DBD is built around darkness, stealth, tracking, visibility, shadows, scratch marks, blood, and atmosphere. So I think it is completely fair to question whether external visual tools that alter those things are healthy for the competitive integrity of the game long term.
At the very least, it is a discussion worth having.
What you just said is something I wish more people would understand.
"Games change. Rules Change. Community feedback matters."
DbD has changed so much since it came out and it plays and feels like a completely different game. I do find the community can be stuck in its old ways. So I thank you very much for trying to start a discussion like this 😁
-
I tried talking about this before and people were comparing reshaders to gamma options.
I gave up trying to explain it.
Reshaders is cheating as its not an option to use in game. IT unfairly changes the games pallet to something completely different.

It's hard to find that decent middle ground 🤣
I'm certainly interested to see how it is. I haven't really watched the jason movies but he strikes me as a pretty direct brutal killer in the vein of myers/nemesis.
Well seeing how they gave myers a giant lunge hopefully they dont do that for Jason 🤣
Fingers crossed effort and thought was put into him.

Knowing modern day DbD
Something that will either make him so strong no one will play against it or something very weak that no one will play. -

Yeah I feel like Blight ruined a lot of the pacing design of the game and centralized the Killer meta to be around needing to combine lethality and rushing and Survivors needing to have better tools to combat this. It feels even worse knowing that this playstyle of Blight wasn't even originally designed to be that since they wanted to do something different with him (and couldn't) and now a Pandora's Box of horrific game design was opened by complete accident. Billy was originally nerfed because the developers correctly acknowledged that combining hard to react to mobility with a one-shot down was not a good idea. But because of the way the game evolved, they not only reverted that nerf on Billy but also turned it into a speed buff even though that was a horrible idea in practice. On the other hand, you have Hag who used to be seen as a great Killer and has only received buffs. Yet nowadays, she's seen as a very weak Killer because the game evolved in a way that rendered her methodical playstyle extremely weak. I do hope that BHVR recognizes that they need to slow the game down just a little bit
Unfortunately I don't see them learning to try slow the game down. Even if they wanted to I believe the community would have such a massive push back on any of the changes BHVR would do.
Thats why I think a lot of the balance changes we've had for the last year or so have been so minuscule that it doesn't actually affect anything. They either don't understand what to do for some changes to the game or they know if they try to shake things up too much the player base will argue and fight the devs on the changes. For better or worse.
I think the biggest change I can really say affected anything was nerfing Blight's move speed and token when breaking a pallet.
-
A reason why gens are also done fast is also because of the S tier killers getting out of hand if the game drags on. Best counter to their high mobility/high lethality is to not give them a prolonged game.
I think a good example of this is lets take Blight with 4 slow down perks. Pain Res, Surge, Dead man Switch and Eruption. As we know Blight is a strong killer and with these 4 slow down perks he easily can get out of hand by downing the first person. Best way to counter it? Don't give him the momentum, do the gens before he really has a chance to use any of the perks.
And a sad side affect of the high mobility/lethality killers is the game has now been pretty much balanced/focused around them leaving any killer who doesn't have speed or fast downing potential in the dust. On the survivor side of things you're going into a match expecting to verse our example killer, Blight with 4 slow downs and would have to do what I stated above. Do gens faster than he can get momentum. So even if they are going up against any other killer that isn't S tier they're just gonna do the gens fast anyway because they already brought the build to do gens.
So unfortunately if we try to slow the game down for these none S tier killers you would have to do a lot of balance changes and maybe even killer power reworks for any of the S tier killers. And unfortunately this is BHVR so good luck with any kind of real problem solving with this one. I honestly see BHVR adding another 10 seconds to gens instead of addressing the actual problem.

The anti-BMing aspect of this killer is nothing short of embarrassing. They really caved to people crying about tbagging. It doesn't even make sense from a narrative perspective. The survivors are sinful for squatting and pointing, but they're also innocent people trapped in a hellish nightmare trying not to be murdered, so how sinful all they, really?
Totally agree with this. Legit any other game and it would have been funny. But DbD is the weird exception where this isnt funny….Just knowing how people react when a survivor presses crouch one too many times. It comes off as pathetic and this really is more of a DbD only thing.

So I did not read every single comment but I am shocked that no one seemed upset about the bannable offense of taking the game hostage and forcing one survivor to rat out their teammate or just sit on the ground slugged to prevent the ever feared hatch. As for the OP, I have been clear that I am a survivor main and this happens ALL THE TIME. Truthfully report them. It is against the rules for the killer to work with the survivor. Or vice versa.
You know I didnt even notice that you make a really good point. HOWEVER….We know BHVR seem to like….Never ban people. Even known cheaters just run rampant so I think people just dont bother reporting this kind of behavior because most of the time nothing happens.
But you really did make such an excellent point.

@zonkednb said:
I'm sorry that happened to you. I've not much to say on your experience because it sounds like it sucks, and clearly came from a total misunderstanding on the part of your team, should your recount be accurate. I won't lie that I've been a survivor in a game where one teammate has no hookstates, with everyone else on 2, and wondered whether or not they were hard ratting. I never call something like that out without hard proof, though, because otherwise you end up with this kind of situation.
Clearly, someone made the call too early, others agreed, and you were unfairly targeted as a result. As killer, I've let 3 out and killed 1 in the event of a deliberate sandbag. I've also had BBQ & Chili reveal someone edgemap hiding from very early in the game, and hunted them down for doing so, but only to spread hooks in a game I was clearly going to win regardless of how I played.
The other players here likely thought they were enacting justice.
I do disagree firmly with one part of what you said though:
The Judgement's power interacting with known survivor BM is not a result of killer entitlement so much as it is an acknowledgement of the silliness that takes place in the game. It's entirely counterable by simply not emoting or bagging in the killer's face, something that was never an optimal play to begin with. If it was anything other than an on-theme joke, they'd apply this mechanic to all killers to appease people upset about BM. They are not doing that, however, so it's quite clear that's not the thinking behind this addition.I'm agreeing with OP's point with The Judgement BM power thing.
If this was any other game I would have agreed with you and thought "Oh yeah its a funny bit about funny pointing and taunting" but this is DbD and this game has a certain context when it comes to the community and how they feel about "pointing, T-bagging and standing in the exit gate" for this instance we'll talk about how certain killer players react when survivors stand at the exit gate.
A forum post was made a while ago and there have been many like it where that killer player was complaining about a match they just had about survivors standing in the exit gate and asking them to just leave. I told them he can just hit them out and force them out that way if it was bothering them that much. Their response then was about how its for "the survivors ego that they miss the hit". Just them making the killer miss a swing at the exit gate pissed off that player so much they made the effort to go to the forums to talk about "survivor ego's and toxicity" and unfortunately most players were agreeing with what that OP said.
So with that ramble out of the way. I think this part of Judgements power just doesn't sit right with me as it just looks like the devs are siding with these players that complain that a survivor was doing something they deem "toxic" but at the same time when a killer is toxic like with what this OP's post is about the survivors are either told to deal with it or what happened to OP and you just stop playing because that kind of match would just ruin the game for everyone.
JUST TO PREFACE THIS. Im not saying one side is more toxic or than the other or this us vs them mindset. I think both killers and survivors are honestly as bad as each other. Toxic and bullies for no rhyme or reason.
-
What I find funnier is this toxicity is so bad. I have had players come to my profile on steam to say one last insult cause I did something they personally didn't like. Even have had killers and survivors straight up lie and say I did something toxic to try and start an argument.
Now I just leave my profile on private because the community in this game has reached such a level of toxicity that even just playing the game normally sets them off. So it doesn't surprise me that this happened.
-
I think my main concern with Vigilance is it could be a strong tunnel perk but even as I type this im not convinced it will be used all that much in most matches. Maybe will be added to just gimmick aura reading builds.
Steadfast is….Just…Yeah. I said in another post that what the community voted for just shows they only wanted cookie cutter perks.
But yeah overall I think these perks are just so…Generic.
First time we really get to pick what we want and this is what the community asked for.
-

The saturation isn't that great. I like to use colors based on category so I can easily remember what I'm looking at or searching for.
Pallets and Survivors are blue - blue represents temporary resources.
Windows and gens are green - green is safety.
Hooks/downed Survivors, and the Killer are red.
Other auras are white, except for marked objects which are yellow.Ngl I find it funny you view survivors as resources XD

Same. The second I saw what everyone voted for I knew the perks were doomed from the start.
For once the community had the chance to make some interesting perks but everyone just wants cookie cutter bullcrap.
-
My main issue with proxy camping is just from the high mobility killers. Blight, Nurse, Kankei, Hillbilly.
It treats those killers the same proxy distance as Trapper or other slower killers and it just….Doesn't work with them. Change how proxy camping works with the killers than can get around super fast and then I think its pretty set. You can easily get a save against a lot of the proxy camping killers if they don't move at mach speed.
-
Just from what I've seen on the forums. People don't seem to really want to discuss. Most of what i've read has mostly boiled down to. "You're an X main so you don't fully understand"
End of the day. Make the post and just dont focus on the upvotes and down votes. Cause that isnt the best way to see how people feel about the post since it can either can mass down voted because of the reason of "I don't want to engage in a discussion" or you just repeat the same thing as a youtuber/streamer is saying and you can get upvoted. So yeah don't let the forums make ya feel anxious. Speak your mind!
-
I dunno. I kinda feel that we already have enough info. We know when someone is getting chased, someone boon/breaking totems, doing gens (how far the progress is), healing a team mate and self healing. Maybe its not the lack of information and just not understanding what to do with the current information you have.
-
I think my problem are most of the Meta killers atm.
I feel because of them the low tier killers cant really be buffed in any meaningful way with out making the meta killers stronger. I was hoping they would realize that each killer cannot be treated equally and do more specific buffs with how perks interact with other killers and how the map interacts with these killers.
Imagine if map tiles changed depending on the killer? I think that'd be pretty neat. Changes the flow of the strong loops for killers that are slower.
-
Usually I found they just like to mess around and not really try to hard. Which is completely fair in my view of it.
I've been playing since 2017 and playing like a sweat for a solid year of my game time. I just like to run funny meme builds. More often then not I lose cause I just end up messing around. But after a while I think people who are p100 just don't take the game too seriously. (Which I hope is the case)

Gone against him too. Also a killer that faked farming and then just kept slugging and eventually body locked me in a corner until I was forced to abandon. Just sad that BHVR can't take poor sportsmanship and cheating seriously.
This event has kind of sucked playing survivor. Killer has been fun, but I don't want to be stuck playing killer just to farm some BP. And the end game screen being bugged is atrocious too.
Definitely not one of my most fun gaming experiences today.
On a smaller scale of bugged end game screen. I cant rotate my character anymore 😭

Easy Anti-Cheat runs on Kernel Levele, so it SHOULD be able to see Cheats. Previously the ingame report was mainly needed to flag the game and to match it with the Support Ticket you have to send. But it was also required to include any evidence, e.g. a video. Which is IMO such a big hurdle, because not everyone has OBS installed and not everyone wants to go through the hoops to record a video and upload it to Youtube.
If this got changed, it would be a good sign. But I am questioning what exactly will be able to be deteced. I had two Cheaters in the past week, one a few days ago, one today.
Today: Dwight with a very suspicious Build (Hyperfocus, Fast Track, Deadline, Built to Last). In general, Hyperfocus without Stake Out always rings the alarm bells for me, but that Dwight was also mirroring the Killer perfectly while not having line of sight on them. I did not record a video, but Easy Anti-Cheat SHOULD be able to detect something like a Wallhack.
A few days ago: A Wesker who lagswitched. When using his ability, his Ping spiked to over 350 up to 600. Which makes it impossible to dodge his ability, since you are somewhere else on his screen. This player had 10 hours, only DBD on his Steam Account, multiple comments that he is cheating and his main account was recently banned from a game (with again, multiple comments on the main account that he was cheating). Is Easy Anti-Cheat also able to detect a Lagswitch?
Regardless, if this means that you dont have to take videos or screenshots or, even better, dont need to write a Support Ticket, I am all for it.
Why is this one of the only games out there that require me to go through so many hoops to report cheaters 😅
-
I've reported so many cheaters that I feel like the report feature just doesn't work. Cause I have run into the same cheaters, weeks apart.

Oh I am so sorry I thought the whole argument was for you complaining about survivors just standing in an exit gate. Okay what you're actually pushing for is more options for surrendering. TBH I do support that. I view the abandon feature as a "okay time to move on to the next match" So yeah I support killers also having another option to just move on to the next match faster to save time.

I would actually
See i've kinda adopted the view point of "If someone isnt enjoying a game they are free to leave" Killer or survivor.Don't get me wrong, slugging used to really annoy me but yeah at the end of the day I chose to let it bother me. So now I do what someone else said to me. I just get up and do something else while im slugged. I'll either open up pokemon showdown and have a quick match while either A-I get picked up or B- we all get slugged and the game ends. So yeah I choose to let it annoy me or not.

Same can be said about having abandon for mori when one side can skip these 8 seconds why other one cant skip the 6-12 second window or even little longer forcing someone from gate is dependent on more things like how many survivors are alive, perks like dead hard.
Its just doble standart one side can skip the short end while other cant, like it or not its just fact not all killers have blood warden build in basekit like twins.
Or you could just….Not mori them and skip the animation as well?
And second of all. What does me saying "Don't let their actions bother you" have to do with an abandon feature for the mori?
-
I don't really understand this whole argument that is being had here.
This stuff only will bother you if you let it. I started as a killer main and yeah I have my bad days where a survivor T bagging or what not. But at the end of the day it was because I, myself let their actions affect me. Guys come on, grow some thicker skin.

Most of then wont let you hit just stand there and bait you do edge just to escape and make you miss for their ego boost thats just thing that happens in my matches when I loose.
So? Who cares. You don't know them.
This stuff will bother you if you let it. I don't know these people, their ego's mean nothing to me. If they make me miss a swing why would that bother you? -
Id rather not have another killer with haste.
its tiring of the band-aid fix of "Let's just give the killer haste" Look at Skull Merchant their solution was just "haste" -
Or you could just hit them out. Get extra BP for hitting them.

This is something that got discussed a lot and it was something that we spoke about on the forums, we never intended making this a big thing where people feel they need to strive for P100, it's more of a nice to have for people who have been able to invest the time into a character. If it was a cosmetic it would definitely feel more "valuable" and a must have for want of a better word (also could be problematic for licences etc), which is definitely not intended with prestiging a character.
Well then what is the point to leveling our survivors for the P100? Why have something to work towards if the payout is so tiny?
Seems like a waste of time to even use the mechanic. Might as well remove the whole thing and let us level up our characters with out the whole prestige. -
Or you could just….Hit them out???? Hello?
-
I really miss the tome challenges. :(
-
Tbh are we sure its even people DC'ing on purpose? The servers are so unstable sometimes I just get randomly booted from the match. It happens so frequently.
-
Id say my strongest is Nurse, Springtrap and Huntress.
Nurse is what helped me become a better killer and she was my first ever killer I played. I still remember my first match fondly…..Didn't get a single hook and all the survivors were watching me humble my power!

This criticism feels kind of incomplete. There’s some truth in it, but very little nuance. “Get good” can be used to justify any imbalance in the game. Just because something is theoretically possible with enough time and skill doesn’t mean it’s reasonable or healthy expectation for the average player, which are the majority.
We don’t hold our standards with edge cases. A 400+ win streak on Clown doesn’t become the baseline just because it exists, we recognize those players as outliers. Expecting that level of performance isn’t realistic, and we accept that for killers. That logic shouldn’t disappear when the role in question is survivor. The way you phrased it gives the impression that surviving a hardcore tunnel isn’t a difficult thing to do, that it doesn’t require at least a thousand hours for an intense knowledge of looping, maps, resources, perks, and individual killer mechanics, that of which there are 40+ of.
Louder for the forum goers in the back please. They really need to hear this.
