I might catch some flak from this, but there needs to be a ping limit (either in match or lobby) or let players queue for pings closer to their own.
I know this is an older post but the last few days I've been getting killers with ping at 100+ located in Mexico and South America. They've been getting ridiculous hits (without having perks to do so) I don't know why there isn't a limit on ping in matchmaking?
Perhaps it could be a setting (just like cross play) that you could choose to turn off or on if you don't want to be matched with high ping players. I get that people want to play with friends that may not be your region so making it optional would benefit everyone.

The go next prevention and new AFK system just feels like it's punishing survivors for doing…anything. Survivor players have just had numerous options taken away from them, choices they no longer get to make. We can't choose to try and take our chances when we know in the context of our matches that no one is getting to us in time. We can't choose to sacrifice ourselves on hook speedily in the hopes of our final teammate getting hatch. We can't play stealthy. We can't hide to wait for a killer to leave the area before getting back to our objective. We can't use certain perks now without copping a DC penalty even when we escape a match. We can't hunt for hex totems either when hexed or pre-emptively.
We're even punished for not contributing to the objectives when we're literally lying on the ground bleeding to death because the only thing a survivor can do in that situation is crawl, and that's not good enough to not warrant AFK crows apparently. The only action we can take in that scenario isn't considered "playing the game".
And the worst part is it didn't help anything!
People are still DC-ing! People are still going next! Killers are now actively tunnelling survivors more ruthlessly than ever! And these new systems only seem to be punishing people who did NOTHING WRONG!
Not to mention how unfriendly this new system is to beginner players. As if the game wasn't already EXTREMELY unfriendly to new players, now if they're hesitant and trying to play sneaky, the crows will give them away and they'll get tunnelled. If they fail skill checks, y'know because they're new and haven't learned how to yet, they'll be accused of trying to 'go next' and get slapped with a DC penalty.
If I started playing the game for the first time today under these circumstances, I'd never stick with it beyond a few matches. To launch this system with a chapter you KNEW was going to bring in a lot of new players is baffling. Those players aren't going to stick around because your game design is now ACTIVELY HOSTILE towards them.
Truly I cannot put into words how much I loathe this new system. All it's done is take choices away from survivor players and PUNISH people trying to play the game.
And for all the people who are claiming that there's nothing wrong with the system or that it's great: I hope you enjoy your painfully long queue times, because they're only gonna get worse from here.
THIS THIS THIS^^^^^
Why on earth would you implement a system that actively harms new players? Especially at one of the most anticipated Killer launches drawing in many FNAF fans. The gist of this "change" basically says to survivors run around out in the open and don't hide so the killer can get their 4k or else. Its like they want people to be instantly good with a new killer and they only way around that is to nerf survivor gameplay into the ground. What happened to actually attempting to get good at the role you are playing? People will still DC if they feel they are being treated unfairly and just go play something else.

LOL I got a crow while repairing a Deja Vu generator.

There is no way mine are accurate. I know since 2020 I've played way more than 900 hours as survivor. I currently have 6000+ hours on my Steam account. Not a chance I played 5000 hours between late 2017-2020. My only guess is that games I played while my steam profile was private or anonymous maybe were not counted? Maybe they aren't actually counting Lobby wait times?

I hate it. I've been griefed on a few occasions while I was streaming. In those instances I had to dc because they kept picking me up and putting me down. Wouldn't let me bleed out or hook. But also wouldn't let me finish the game. Just generally being toxic. This is a perfect example of me wanting to go next so to speak. From what I've seen thus far teammates just give up, run to the killer, don't participate, throw pallets on purpose, etc.. I'd rather them DC and have a bot replace them. The bots have been more reliable than some teammates. When it was down to one teammate and myself I'd usually give up on hook if there was no chance of us finishing gens so they could maybe find the hatch. I was just starting to get back into DBD with chaos shuffle but now, I don't know. The idleness changes and DC penalties are really making me reconsider coming back to play this regularly.

I'm not happy with it. I used them because I would get sick of the same map being in rotation on some servers over and over again. Why even have them at this point if there is only a 20 percent chance of getting it?

Distortion has been a staple since the meta overhaul for me. Nowhere to hide just gives me a better opportunity to run away after they kick it
It’s fine imo
Same here. It is my new crutch perk.

Yes I get a repeat of all maps, but lately seems like RPD more than ever.
-
I've been getting RPD constantly since the update.
-
This map gives me a headache. The bright orange color that seems more prevalent in Low graphics is really hard on the eyes. I'm guessing it isn't as bad on ultra. Also really hard to see scratch marks when I tested with bots.
-
Same.
-
As a survivor I hate this map. So many things to collide with around the edges.
-
I don't think hiding is boring. I think trying to remain undetected is part of the fun. I personally like a mix of both: chasing and hiding.

You could wait to try it out on the PTB and see what comes to live before crying that the sky is falling.
I don't think anyone needs to try the PTB to comprehend that some perks that have been nerfed are no longer useful (ie Iron Will is no longer a perk that silences injured survivors, self care takes longer now, etc...)

DS in the current state was needed because you know what also is unfun? tunneling and camping.
5 seconds BT basekit will do almost nothing against a killer who wants to camp and tunnel, specially now that DS was also double nerfed.
Yes, nerfing spine chill, iron will and even self care is a big nerf to solo q. Everyone with an IQ higher than a single digit can understand why.
Totally agree with you. 5 Seconds is nothing to a determined killer. As a primarily solo queue survivor Iron Will, Spine Chill, Self Care and some exhaustion perk were regularly part of my build.

Message I'm getting from this patch is if you play solo then you should go play killer, if you want to play survivor you need to get your friends to play for a swf. They won't need to bring solo survivor up to swf if they just kill solo survivor.
The thing is I think BHVR fails to realize that some people don't want to SWF. I do and I don't. Some days I just want to be quiet and play the game by myself. I don't necessarily want to SWF every match.
Edited to add I got this game because there was an option to solo q. You didn't HAVE to play with friends in order to do ok in the game. Now it just seems impossible.
-
RIP solo queue. Most of the perks that were helpful to solo q'ers (such as myself) are getting the crap nerfed out of them. I honestly feel like this is the patch that will make many solos (like myself) just not want to play much anymore. SQ is already a bit of a nightmare but there was always that chance of saving yourself with a decent build no matter how crappy your teammates are. Now that many of those solo q favored options are no longer available I don't see how this game is as viable for SQ survivors with killer perks being buffed the way they are.

I was burning them, but I was getting tunneled out of matches making less than 5k base at times and not having any fun. When I stopped burning them, I started having better matches.
Like I always say, Bloodpoint offerings are bad luck. I can't blame people for not wanting to burn them. I notice that, whether it's me or someone else, whoever burns a cake somehow gets tunneled out first thing. This is why I usually just trash BPS when I prestige.
I stopped using them because of how disgusting survivors and killers are being since this event started. I'm not going to waste them when so many killers are super sweaty with the face camping and tunneling at 5 gens. Survivors are letting solo queue teammates die first hook because they didn't bring a cake, etc... It isn't fun and I'm not going to reward randoms with that kind of behavior. If I'd only seen this happen once or twice I'd probably not feel this way but my matches have been awful.
-
I stopped using cakes after having them repeatedly wasted by random teammates who DC or killers that tunnel and then facecamp. I'd rather save them up and use them with friends when everyone is a little less sweaty.

its not, stop being silly
I haven't played survivor very much in the last couple of months so I've deranked back into the teens. Every match I've played I've been tunneled. I guess it comes with the low rank of inexperienced killers. It is incredibly boring. So yes it still is happening. It didn't happen nearly as much at purple or red ranks.

I estimate I've spent roughly around $250 CAD on this game and the dlcs, archives, etc. I'm sure many others have spent much, much more. The people continuously funding this game have a right to voice their thoughts imo. With that said I feel like at this point the only two ways to get the devs attention (aside from complaining here) is to stop purchasing their content and/or stop playing the game period since the PTB and surveys don't seem to mean anything. When the numbers decrease maybe they won't take their player base input for granted.
-
Yep. I find it makes me a little motion sick and the white gen font at the top is hard to read on certain maps.
-
That was sarcasm hence the /s
Of course we need to voice an opinion. It just seems like lately they are fixing things that aren't broken hence my comment.
-
No one asked for new animations. We got them.
No one asked for a new UI. We got it.
Maybe we should stop asking them to fix the things that actually need fixing and they'll finally do it. /s

I was playing Ghost Face and downed a survivor that was stuck on the right side of a hill. They managed to get up to get away. I got stuck in the same spot. Couldn't move period. This was on Macmillan.

Same thing happened to me last night (Aug 24th). Wondering when this is going to be patched?
