Because he has to be aiming and not just quickscoping.

i was trying to say the reason i never heard it is because i never play against a Deathslinger, but yeah you got a point there aswell xD

    Yet people keep buying them.

lets be fair here, as much as it sucks that they are linked, the PH skins look sick af.

  • ngl it is kinda cheap how ppl fake his power, but he really doesnt need any nerfs.

There's also a ringing noise that plays if the Deathslinger is aiming at you down the sights.

    wait, there is?

i legit never noticed that in my 5 matches ive had with this killer so far xD

  • you are welcome ^^

    glad i could help

  • i dont particulary mind him, however i dislike two aspects of his kit:

    1) the ability to hardtunnel - granted this one was reduced quite significantly, but if a team mate decides to farm you off of the hook / cage with PH around you are basically screwed, thanks to his ability to play around anti tunnel perks. on the contrary i must admit that there is nothing more satisfying than harshly punishing survivors who get too cocky and unhook right in my face as PH.

    2) him faking his ability to cheese chases. this one really sucks the fun out of my games with him imo, as there is so little you can do against this. go for the pallet or window? ranged attack. avoid the pallet / window? now he's after you like any normal M1 killer. it requires very little skill, but it removes any counterplay a survivor really has against him. i much rather love when you get some sick snipes on them with the power instead of just faking it over and over and over again until you get the M1 hit (also can we quickly talk about how amazing Im All Ears is on this killer?)

and when the killer happens to combine both of these aspects, well, you're in for one of the worst games you've had in a while.

so in the end its entirely up to the PH player whether i view my game with him as fun or not.

he has the potential ability to be extremely unfun, but that doesnt make every game with him bad.

due to that im not gonna vote eigther of the options and instead leave this here.

  • the Bloodweb stops counting your progress as soon as you hit level 50, however that doesnt mean you wouldnt be able to continue leveling the characters.

completing a lvl 50 bloodweb will grant you another lvl 50 bloodweb, therefore you can get unlimited amounts of Add Ons, Offerings and all Perks.

additionally, once your bloodweb hits level 50 you actually get two perks each level, which makes it even easier to get all the perks on a character (you have 4 perks to pick from, two of which will be eaten by the entity)

prestige is just there to grant you the bloody cosmetics, a slightly higher chance for more rare stuff and a feeling of satisfaction. its not necessary at all, however should you want to prestige i would suggest you dont max out a character without it then, otherwise you are going to waste a lot of time and ressources, as prestige deletes all your characters progress.

you should also not instantly prestige a character you hit lvl 50 with, instead you will want to level a second character to level 50, so you can reset one of them without losing everything at once and being able to keep playing normally with others to get the points to further level the freshly prestiged character.

  • Huntress is a lot deadlier at a long range, therefore she has the 42m warning lullaby.

Deathslinger has a maximum range of 18m, therefore he doesnt need it, as at that point you should be able to see himt (he needs a direct LoS to the survivor, which Huntress does not). Additionally you will be getting the TR as soon as you are in a 16m range to him, which should alert you even further - and if he shoots you in the 2m window where you dont hear a TR, it should be pretty easy to snap the chain before he reels you in - PLUS its dodgeable due to the loud bang alerting you and the projectile time (its as fast as a fully charged Huntress hatchet).

his strength doesnt lie in shooting you in that 2m window of no TR, his strength is his ability to quickscope you and deny you most loops.

also lets not forget that his ability to shoot you without a warning relies on him running a specific perk. in his basekit, his range is lower than his TR, therefore you do get warned.

  • i prefer Daddy Slinger over Huntress

  • its because they cant handle 4 survivors at once, so they remove one asap and get a much easier time.

dont worry, mories are on the changelist.

  • it doesnt matter what people say, once the exploit has been fixed the penality system will return.

  • i for one hate her due to how her trap mechanics work.

its pure RNG whether you get the trap off or not, which in my opinion is just, simply put, really bad gamedesign.

i dont like to play AS her, due to how inconsistent the power is and i dont like to play AGAINST her due to how many times i timed out, just because RNG decided that the key was in the last box i checked and the killer happened to be around that area.

like, i dont learn anything from those scenarios, i cant improve in them and i cant do anything against it eigther. its just annoying.

she needs a complete rework in how her boxes work.

for example, why not spawn in 5 boxes by default but guarantee the key on the 4th box?

that way i, as the killer, know that the trap will be stalling them for some time while as a survivor i can judge how long its going to take me to remove it and make good decisions based on that.

the killer will also not be able to camp a box, due to me having two options when it comes to obtaining the key.

It barely activates in my games. Surely it could use some changes.

its not about whether it activates or not.

its about having an Obsession and making the killer FEAR you MIGHT have it, so they play around it and dont tunnel.

you dont need to activate your DS to get a good usage of having the perk. its the psychological effect it has on the killer that makes it as powerful as it is.

  • @TAG said:

This sounds like the endgame Survivor perk to end all endgame Survivor perks.

one perk to rule them all

  • i wouldnt like it to be free tbh.

free games tend to attract tons of hackers and bots, which i would prefer to stay out of DbD entirely.

  • honestly, i havent seen any more or less billies than i did prior to the nerf.

they were quite rare already, at least for me.

  • i would say there are different levels of "sluggiing", some of which are okay, some of which are not.

for example, i dont see anything wrong with downing a player and continuing the chase with someone else right away. if you have two players directly in front of you there is nothing wrong with attacking both.

on the other hand i dont like when a killer downs someone and then leaves them on the ground for X seconds while scanning half of the map in hope of catching a glimpse of another survivor that may or may not be there.

  • on one hand, yeah the grind can be quite massive.

though on the other side, the Devs added a lot of ways to earn additional BPs with Daily Challenges, tome Challenges, 2x BP Events and a multitude of bonus BP Offerings.

its really not THAT bad, considering all of that.

like, before i started doing the page two challenges of this tome my Executioner was barely P3 lvl 50 - now, after completing them, im only 30 perk levels away from having him maxed out.

  • i dont think so.

objects you can get on top of are rather common on multiple maps (especially on the Dead Dawg Saloon) and as long as both sides (or just the killer) are able to get there there is no problem with them.

if BHVR really wanted them gone because they were unfair to one side / broke the map, they would remove them like they removed the Autohaven Grab Crane tech where the killer could get ontop of the tires and, should the pallet be dropped, even on top of the car.

also, the Harvesters on Coldwind Farm maps have a very similar spot, where the survivor can get on top of a little box the killer can only access by vaulting the window above, though he can attack them from the right angle. since that is intentional gamedesign, i dont see why your spot should be considered an "exploit".

  • really depends on the type of SWF i go up against.

some friends wanting to play together? totally fine.

a 4 man SWF tryharding like their life depends on winning this DbD match? i dont ever want to go up against that.

like, ive had two games just now: one where a 4 man SWF brought two keys, a genrush toolbox (purple genspeed box with BNP and additional repair speed) and a flashlight. they also had two OoOs and were stacked with all the meta perks they could bring. 3 escaped via hatch and then they proceeded to shittalk me in the end chat. the second game i had a SWF who would just genrush like nothing. like, no healing, no totems, no chests, nothing but gens, super coordinated on top of that.

both of these groups are groups i would never want to see again, simply due to how extremely unfun both games were.

Dude people are out of this world! It looks like the same wall from my perspective too now that you pointed it out! But why would they use this map tho?

well, given the lore we've got for The Alchemist in Tome 1, he used to be a Survivor who turned into a Killer after getting addicted to the Serum we got to collect on Halloween.

so since the entity originally took him as a Survivor, it would make sense as to why we wont see a new map with him.

  • really depends on HOW you do it.

in general i dont mind you playing to win, we all do.

but i do mind when you do it in the most unfun way possible, such as bringing a mori, hardtunneling, slugging, etc.

  • ragequitting in general is not okay and there is no excuse for that.

you just end up ruining everyone elses game, which is why DCs are being punished (the punishment system is currently deactivated due to a bug, but it will be active again soon)

the only reasons why leaving the game early would be okay would be if something gamebreaking happened / irl problems forced you away from the PC.

    some examples:

    • hackers
    • game taken hostage
    • exploit abuse
    • loss of internet connection
    • irl problems (injuries, sickness, etc.)

I guess there is a way to open the Tome1 memories, because i just did it. Try going into the Compendium directly after starting the game. So Main-menu:Archieve:Compendium.

yeah its weird... ive got it once aswell, but like 95% of the time i try to go there i just end up looking at the Tome 4 stories.

its okay though, you can find the video on the internet so i could indeed check a little later.

just hope this gets fixed soon

  • check the bug reports section.

its been reported and acknowledged by the team.

Edit: to be more clear: yes its a bug

  • the hoodied figure looks a lot like him (The Alchemist) aswell.

i think the scene we got to see was him injecting himself with one of the nektar vials he became addicted to (thats why we hear the sound at the beginning, its him injecting himself the fluid with a syringe).

if the tomes compendium section wasnt bugged, i'd go back to tome 1 to check. but since i cant do that, im stuck with this assumption.

  • it has always been like that.

Huntress and it isn't close. She's more brutal and primal that he is. Plus he has what appears to be a bad leg, so he's at a physical disadvantage.

whoever gets to ambush the otherone first wins.

if Caleb gets a good shot in on her its game over, same for when Anna gets the jump on him (physically stronger + Calebs bad leg give her the advantage here)

theoretically Anna has a clear advantage here, due to her experience in the wilderness and her being very skilled in ambushes and quick kills (as proven by the tomes), but honestly she'd have to shut the hell up for that xD

  • congrats!

especially the killer ones are ridiculously hard, so thats quite the achievement ^^

  • any survivor specific challenges.

i dont play survivor a whole lot and i only really leveled Claudette, so i aint gonna go and try to open a gate as a lvl 1 Ace at rank 1.

"some prefer the direct trail that follows them" - are you serious? Other than someone who got the game yesterday, who would actually benefit from it? I've never ever seen a single killer, outside of this "Challenge", using it.

i dont know, but i believe there has to be SOMEONE out there who doesnt mind the perk.

  • usually a 3k or 4k, but with challenging survivors im happy with a 2k aswell.

  • i did it with pyramid head, cause i got the perk on lvl 1 on him.

yeah some prefer the direct trail that follows them, but imo those trails just make it a LOT harder to spot people running around in the open, due to less scratches spawning on walls.

luckily its a fairly easy challenge though, i doubt anyone is gonna have a big problem with that.

thats a thing, i wasn't lagging, besides, im running 400mbps or close to it since suddenlink won't let get my full speed

    hitreg is killer sided.

if they got the hit on their screen, they got it on yours aswell.

what you are describing here arent cheats, but bad latency.

dont worry though, the devs are working on server sided hit registration

  • sorry to hear that :/

    i hope you reported them?

  • because there are issues with his licensing.

once these are solved, you can get him. otherwise the Devs are powerless in that regard.

  • i would usually recommend buying licensed DLCs first (The Halloween Chapter, LEATHERFACE, A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Saw Chapter, Ghost Face, Stranger Things Chapter and Silent Hill Chapter), as you can get all the others for free with playtime.

considering the ones you already have, i'd personally go for them in this order:

    1. Leatherface (LEATHERFACE (duh..))
    2. Michael Myers (The Halloween Chapter)
    3. Amanda Young (The Saw Chapter)

  • these survivors were clearly cheating, the report was certainly justified.

and yes, if you have the option to, you should definitely record the game and send it as additional proof to the devs, just to make sure they get banned.

the only thing you can do against this ingame would be to slug them, but since most of these guys run unbreakable + no mither + soulguard, no there is nothing you can realistically do to stop them.

  • legion is one of the harder killers to play well, which is kinda funny considering they have one of the easiest to understand powers in the entire game.

though due to said power being non lethal you will need to rely on other things to catch survivors.

in the end its really just your overall skill that determines how good you are with this killer - if you are very good at normal M1 chases, this killer is amazing, due to their ability to keep everyone oneshot, however if you are a new player and arent good at predicting a survivors movement yet, this killer is going to be a very weak killer, as they got nothing to assist you during chases.

here are a couple of things for you to remember about him that might help though:

    1) his power is non lethal. dont attempt to use it during chases with someone who is already injured / deeply wounded, that would be a waste and wont get you any benefit.

    2) you can use your frenzy to locate other survivors. use that to your advantage to find their positions after hitting your first victim, even if you should not be able to reach them, the knowledge itself is important.

    3) always try to get chainstabs. frenzying just to hit a single player isnt worth it, you should also not tunnelvision one person down and instead go for the others, not injured survivors.

    4) learn to judge the distance at which you can hit a survivvor with your frenzy. if you discover someone who is far away, you can get out of your power, which will pause it and lets it refill from that point on, walk over there manually and then start your power again

    5) do not double tap a survivor with your power. if they are already deeply wounded, dont hit them again and get out of your power manually instead. if you hit them twice you will lose all of your power, get a 4 second stun AND give them a speedboost due to being hit. by manually stopping the power you wont lose all your power and only get the 4 second stun (there is one benefit to doubletapping them though, which is that you can get emblems that require you to hit them a lot easier)

    6) try to get pallet stunned. im not joking, if you injured someone with your power and wish to chase them down, cancel your power underneath a pallet. that way, should they decide to stun you they not only wasted a pallet, but the pallet stun breaks you out of your power a lot faster than the normal 4 second fatigue. you can make yourself even more lethal by equipping enduring (which cuts the pallet stun time in half) and / or spirit fury (which breaks the pallet should you get stunned after breaking some pallets). should they not stun you, you got them outpositioned, which can be bad for them aswell.

  • it would be really cool if they could get the license for these

  • in my opinion he is mostly fine, however i would like to see a change on his ability to fake his ranged attack.

i wouldnt want to leave it at that nerf though, imo he needs a buff in return to stay viable.

  • dont worry, Moris are on the change list.

and before anyone comes at me now, yes so are keys.

  • they were eigther plain out bad perole or they were mentally unstable and were twisted by the entity into becomming the brutal and ruthless being they now are.

its said that those who didnt follow the entitys order right away got tortured, leaving them with scarred and disfigured bodies (e.g. Trapper).

  • @OniWantsUrLocation said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1526133#Comment_1526133

They need to give him something big in exchange if they want to take away the fast switch between M2 and M1. That's actually the only thing that makes him quite strong.

    i wouldnt mind that.

actually, i expect them to buff him in a different aspect for taking that away.

but his current ability to cheese a chase like that is extremely annoying and does not at all feel like good gamedesign to me.

i get some old legion vibes from that tbh and i wouldnt want anything like that to return.

  • i really only want him to get a penality when faking his power.

currently chases with good PHs are basically pointless, as every time you reach a pallet or window he forces you away from it by ramming his knife into the ground - if you go through you are screwed thanks to his ranged attack and if you dont you are screwed cause he can just continue chasing like nothing ever happened, ending up with you being hit before you can reach something to defend yourself with (which he would just end up avoiding the same way anyway)

  • thats most likely due to latency.

i remember a match i had with a twitch streamer who had quite a bad latency and who would keep getting interrupted in actions that on my screen looked perfectly fine, however in his replay later on looked absolutely wrong. i basically sucked him back to the window he was already running away from, grabbing him out of it on his screen, while on mine he wasnt even done vaulting it.

  • @Golden_spider said:

    100% - 100% = 0%

    0% + 50% = 50%

Congratulations your Iron Will 3 got downgraded to Iron Will 1 by the powers of math.

    its as @Golden_spider says.

in DbD percentages are values that are added and substracted from one another.

your base whimmering when injured is plays at 100% audio volume. Iron Will reduces this by 100%, therefore its now 0% and you can not be heard.

Stridor however increases this value by 50%, therefore your audio while injured now plays at 150% volume. If you add Iron Will to this you get 100% of that taken away, which leaves you with a total of 50% of the normal audio volume.

so Iron Will isnt taking 100% of the final volume away (which would mean that it would always silence a survivor), instead it reduces the original value by 100% which leaves the 50% given to you by Stridor (and it works the other way around, stridor adds 50% of the original volume, not 50% of the current one, which with IW would again be 0%)

  • i am complaining because the perk ends up encouraging unsafe hook rescues (also called "hook farmng") by survivors because they know they wont be punished for it.

i can literally hook someone, turn around, take two steps and they are off again, just because this WGLF David with BT was waiting for the unhook - some even do it mid chase just so the unhooked can then bodyblock for them, let them get away and then force their DS on me.

it brings a certain mentality with it where survivors try to get unhooks as fast as possible, instead of as safe as possible.

but besides those rather rare scenarios, i mainly complain about it from a survivors point of view.

i HATE getting hookfarmed right in front of the killer. BT doesnt do much other than buying me a few more seconds, but if the killer wants me dead ill go down again and get rehooked - a scenario that could have been prevented had that WGLF David not pulled me off right in the killers face.

and the worst part of it is, that he doesnt even have to face any penalities for it!

so, after all of this, what would i suggest to change about the perk?

    nothing.

instead i would like to alter the benevolent emblem in a way where it counts a hook rescue as "unsafe", should the unhooked survivor get hit within 10 seconds of being unhooked. that way BT would protect the unhooked from going down to a camping or tunneling killer, but it will also punish those WGLF Davids who just pull their teammate off of the hook immediately, getting them killed.

  • i wouldnt like that.

they should make the aura notification i get inbetween the audio cues more accurate by making it turn off as soon as one leaves the gen and the perk would be fine.

if there is one thing i hate its when i chase someone and every 8 seconds discordance screams in my ear "HEY THERE IS SOMETHING HAPPENING HERE, DID YOU KNOW?". i need ONE notification to know there are two players there, not 50.

1 … 50 51 52 53 54 … 140
