That would be hilarious....Sure do it... they probably are already making these perks as we speak... sense Kill rates is more important than anything else to bhvr...

    You're literally contradicting yourself.

Your changes are okay because they're fun for survivor side, but the changes @jinx3d said are aimed towards kill rates???

    What is this logic.

  • Bubba.

  • Incapacitation is a problem (currently) because of how it is applied and how long it lasts.

    1. You have no clue the gen you're repairing is erupted
    2. SWF can just tell their friends when they're about to go down, so they can stop repairing the gen (sad solo life)
    3. If you get hit you lose 25 seconds.

Tbh if they just reverted the timer of the status effect to 16 seconds (or less) then it could stay the way it currently is.

  • @Archael said:

Im playing for fun, and i really dont care unless survs bring 10th time in a row an RPD ;/ but other than that i dont care. I have no winstrike and i dont need it, so i dont need map, and dont care about offering. For me offerings are only for bp bonus, and every non-Bloody Party Streamers offering is a waste for me (its rare tho. So escape cake and survivor pudding are more likely).

Hey, maybe it just so happens that every survivor you're facing is trying to do that RPD achievement xd

  • Ah yes, let's make the game less toxic by giving even more toxicity! That's brilliant.

While your 1st point starts off right, it fells off fast. Camping and Tunneling is effective because having less survivors means it's more efficient for killer to move about. Especially the weak links.

Any "high level" survivors would just rush gens and leave.... But that's boring. That's why people try to save the camped or tunnelled person.

  • I'll start by saying, just because perks have synergy, doesn't mean they should get merged. Also, remember if we merge (non-general) perks, we would have to replace them with something new.

    1. The change is small, but you can notice it. There is a powercreep this to give you a 1% bonus to hitting greats while injured (something similiar to stake-out)
    2. Why get rid of 15 seconds range thing? Also, no it shouldn't imo.
    3. This wouldn't fix new players thing. They wouldn't repair a generator injured and would wait till someone healed them.
    4. This one could work. It would make both these better, but it would feel VERY bloated.
    5. Probably. Maybe?
    6. Yes, these perks aren't great (mostly because Delivarence exists) but still I feel like this is just killing synergies. The thing that should happen here, is Luck should get buffed.
    7. That's a nerf. Either a revert or a buff to a revert would work, see my suggestion here https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/336993/pharmacy-rework-reworked#latest
    8. Or we could just buff invidual numbers? Still, they would be weak because stronger perks exist
    9. Get rid of the penalty (or make it only on the first skillcheck), give it % increased chance for skillchecks while healing etc.?
    10. "Head On - [Current Effects]. The aura of the locker you're in reveals it's aura to other survivors", there, solo survivor friendly head on. Solidarity should just work with medkits (and show other nearby survivors you have it) and poised could hide everything and have it's duration increased.
    11. They're changing buckle up a bit, I agree MoM could be better
    12. You already can pick a generator. They could give us an option when to exactly pop it, but that still wouldn't make people run it.
    13. Okay.
    14. But if they do, you have a back-up plan.
    15. Because of it's condition on how to activate it. They could just make it work on pallets drops, but maybe then they should decrease it back down to 3 sec.
    16. This should make you totally invisible tbh.
    17. Blame CoH for that mostly. It was used before that. Overzealous is just too risky for ... risky plays. And stealth is neglected nowadays.
    18. Fair
    19. Blame Reassurance for that..... And if other solo survivors knew you had it it would be better.
    20. Spine Chill is and always was better.
    21. It still is but for diffrent reasons.
  • I mean, technically it is an anti slugging perk, the only thing holding it back is the fact, that it tells the killer you have it.

I had that happen to me last december with huntress. The last survivor was on second hook, but escaped through the hatch and I got the achivement. I hope that was not a bug.

Also I think the new requirements are way easier than the old ones and I am very happy about the upcoming changes. I had so many 4ks without getting the adept and that was frustrating.

That wasn't a bug, if your grade was low enough, you didn't have to have all iridescent emblems to get merciless.

  • @lemonsway said:

So next you want full aura 100% of the time too?

What is it with people wanting everything? The game is already boring as is for survivors since the objective is just Holding M1 whenever you're not interacting with killer and you want to remove what little unpredictability it has...

No you shouldn't know what % of progress things are. That will only lead to more gen rushing cause people will split up more and Killers will respond with more gen slowdown and more tunneling and more camping. You're only making things worse.

Everytime you want to buff survivors you have to give killers equal tools or else the already negative aspects of one side will only increase.

Stop asking for free handouts and improve your damn skill as a player. You already know that they're working on gens so freaking TRUST THEM TO FINISH THEM ASWELL, what sense would they have to not finish the gen? The only reasons you leave gens are because you're being chased or you're going to rescue someone and you know when there's someone that needs to be rescued so you can make the logical simple conclusion of : oh he left the gen he 's tryign the rescue.

USE YOUR BRAIN STOP ASKING FOR FREE HANDOUTS.

    The logic goes like this.

If we buff solos to be on the communication levels of SWF, then killers could be buffed more so.

  • Still baffled how they implemented that in the tome first.

  • @Crowman said:

I honestly don't see what inherit advantage this provides compared to picking the survivor up.

Let's say you start dragging a downed survivor to the exit and the killer downs you with NOED. Now both you guys are down on the ground instead of just 1.

It all depends on how fast a survivor would move with a survivor on their back tbh.

But still, WGLF would be superior.

  • The problem with CoH is that you can put in away from the action and get a ton of value from it, while the killer cannot do much about it.

CoH just shouldn't be a boon, because it doesn't work like other boons - It's not in the action and isn't at risk of being snuffed.

  • Grades don't determine rank anyways.

  • The problem with CoH (not all current boons in the game) is that, you can put it anywhere you want and killer won't really have time to do anything about it.

Any other boon must be pretty close to the action, so it's atleast at a risk of getting snuffed.

A lot of people play on steam, those with the least hours tend to correlate to the weakest survivor, especially in a swf

Okay fair. But still, you can hide that info if that's really an issue.

    Or a day.

There's a high chance they just forgot/didn't want to put changes in the dev notes.

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

you can use anonymous mode to hide your name

    Yeah that.

But I'm curious, how do killers know who is the weakest from name alone.

  • I'm just gonna point out a misinfromation

The Merciless Killer things getting a change is good in theory, however I think that it will lead to killers slugging for the 4k around the 13th of every month when killers are trying their hardest to get pips. I'm not sure if the goal was to make the pip system be easier for killers, or make getting killer adepts easier. If the goal was to make killer adepts easier, why not just make the adepts themselves achieved when you get a 4k rather than making pips tied to how many kills you get? (unless I read this wrong and that is what you're doing?)

This doesn't affect grades and pipping at all. This only affects the title and adept achievement.

I'm obviously going to play what I want. I get enjoyment out of doing tasks, not getting tunnelled game in game out. It's fun up until a point. Each game really isn't that different, its the interactions.

When I first started playing the game at the start of last year I would get absolutely demolished every game, but I learnt about looping etc and everything changed, but at the same time I bought ALL the dlc's only when they were on sale. I probably spent about 30-50 on all the ones I bought, which is less than buying a PS3 game back in 2005.

The mistake OP is probably making is trying to buy each perk from the shrine for 2k, again thats crazy. You're best off waiting until a sale or an event and buying a character for half price iri, you get 3 perks instead of 1 and the character.

I don't buy DLC's on day one either, I still think it's a fine model though, could use some changes yeah but then again licencing issues etc etc.

There's a diffrence between playing the game and learning base mechanics and being unable to use some of the features, other people are using to win.

That happens only on dbd's anniversary. That happens once a year.

Sales for real money happen more often, yes, I won't deny that.

Normal chapters aren't licensed tho. We had one truly free DLC and that was Huntress+David King forever ago.

I still it's a bit ridiculous we have that many monetization options for a paid game.

I started playing DBD at the start of this year, I've bought every single DLC on the survivor side and haven't even felt like I've broken the bank yet (And I used to spend hundreds if not thousands on cosmetics within a given month/year).

Now if it was something like destiny, or call of duty i'd understand, but it's dead by daylight. You wait for a sale and you buy what you want, and you grind for the other perks and learn the game in the mean time.

Without the substantial grind for perks, what really is there to do in this game? Nothing. Ranks reset once a month, each character can get to prestige 100, but who really cares about that?

Without the substantial grind for perks, what really is there to do in this game?

You know, playing the game? Enjoying it? If the only enjoyment in this game is to grind, then you can play a rougelike and get a similiar feeling, for usually less amount of money.

How I feel about DLC is that, for new players it just might feel overhelming to see that amount of DLC and then see the amount of time it takes to unlock a character or a perk through shrine of secrets. And to know that most of the time you might be at a disadvantage because you didn't buy the perks of the meta (like Eruption and Call of brine on killer side currently)

Even I feel overhelmed by that and stopped buying DLCs on day 1.

  • At that point, why not just show us each other perk builds alongside that?

the current kill rating of killers is about 50-60% but it is largely due to the constant camping and tunneling, in the absence of a camp, the kill rating drops to 30%

If the killers become twice as strong and at the same time we reduce the camp / tunneling, then the kill rate will be the same as now, but it will not be so annoyingl

I really don't feel like the kill rates would be the same, especially with all those changes you proposed.

Idk, It's just my two cents.

  • @sanees said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3307594#Comment_3307594

I did some tests and when the friends and I deliberately started slowly repair , we almost didn’t see camping and tunneling

but as soon as we genrushed the killers immediately started camping,

many m1 maniacs physically will not have time to do 12 hooks in 2 minutes, shift w chase without windows and pallets takes 30 seconds for the m1 killer

so if we give the killers time and freedom of action, the camp will decrease, also the survivors will see the killer camping + we removed the slug tactics

by the way, this will also fix the constant games against the nurse, because there will be more viable killers

in the end it will make things better for everyone

While that might decrease camping and tunneling, the ability for survivors to... well escape might also.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I've been thinking for awhile that stealth play is no longer viable in this game. Between the scratch marks, injured noises, pools of blood, Iron Will nerf, footsteps, and the multitude of aura perks killers seem to get every release now, being stealthy is clearly something the devs want done away with.

Meanwhile, Distortion and Fixated/Self Aware exist. Even Lightweight helps.

It's not easy to be stealthy, but there are options.

  • @Marik1987 said:

What? Stating your example and stating MY point of view in regards to it could not be anymore clearer than me trying to "stick to the point".

Maybe you have no idea what the word "licenced" means.

Definition: "Video Game Licensing is when you make a business agreement with a company so they can have access to your intellectual property for the purpose of creating a commercial product."

In other words, You *WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO BUY SURVIVORS/KILLERS WITH IRIDESCENT SHARDS IF THEY ARE LICENCED* Everyone else you can buy with iridescent shards. This game is NOT pay to win by any means and even then the bundles are dirt cheap.

My point is no one cares about a cosmetic you will never see for 95% of any playthrough and if you will then why even try and argue a "pay to win" strategy in the first place because you are completely contradicting yourself and missing the point that you are so desperately trying to prove.

And finally, your issue in regards to my previous post just screams that you do not want to pay a penny and want to earn all DBD perks for free. There's a very limited amount of licenced killers/survivors in the game and each bundle does not cost a lot at all, they are even cheaper if you wait for a sale (which DBD REGULARLY HAVE). You want to play DBD but don't want to support them in any way whatsoever but still want their perks? Lol come on bro.

To be fair, there's currently A LOT of things you can buy for in a game*. Which is kind of absurd. Especially if you're a new player.

*The game itself, all of the DLC's/All of the Licensed DLC's, cosmetics for every characters (except Quentin and Nightmare because screw those guys still), a battlepass.

    There's a lot.

OP is right, especially with Licensed DLC's - If the dlc/character is good they're p2w. And unlocking every free character or free perk by playing alone would take forever.

  • @WashYourHands said:

Blessing a Hex disarms Haunted Ground (doesn't trigger), and Pentimento (since you're not breaking the totem), and doesn't trigger the "destroyed hex totem" sound and instead plays the "blessed boon totem" sound (since you're not breaking the totem). Remove the ability to bless hex totems altogether instead of trying to find some convoluted solution to keep it in.

I'm pretty sure Haunted Grounds still triggers when blessed. Unless it's bugged atm which is very likely.

And one solution from the top of my head for Pentimemento that could be added is, if a killer snuffs a boon, they gain the ability to make it a pentimemento.

  • Of which, that friend would have around... 6 characters from each side+general perks. With recent bloodweb changes, getting atleast prestige 1 and making them be unlocked at lvl 1 for everyone, makes then grind way more sufferable.

Although the bloodweb levelling could get a bit annoying.

  • EGC would have to get increased back to 3 minutes, because of a simple perk called "No way out"

Alternatively, that perk would have to get changed.

In it's current state it would eat up (if no one was downed) 80 seconds of EGC, not counting the time to also get to a door and activate it.

  • I feel like, having the ability to start a hunt whenever you want would be a bit too strong, depending on how it works? (where would the guard spawn? Cause if from the location of Knight, then that could be considered weak)

  • The state of The Knight is extremely abysmal and is the lowest possible standard for any Killer in this game. He's unfun, he's broken, and he's in desperate need of a change.

I'm actually curious, this take is from which side? Killer, Surv or both?

  • @AssortedSorting said:

For huntress and Trickster it's a matter of seconds.

In combination with BBQ its strength is not that it gives exposure, but that it gives information that Survivors would hope to have suppressed. (Not like hiding your Aura for BBQ is a smart play unless you're nearly done with a gen or dead on hook anyway)

Artist's birds are removed immediately and can be hopped out of immediately, she's still an M1 Killer with regards to having to actually catch up with the player.

I'm talking a power design more in the realm of: "What if Doctor's Madness only reduced while hiding in a Locker, or against Legion what if you needed to Mend in a Locker?", where it's frequent attrition gameplay where you need to enter a "safe haven" to combat.

As it is, it seems like BHVR have been making custom interactions for all the Powers like this (though Mending has moved onto other things). Not sure if that's something that's desired or not in the long run.

Then as jesterkind said "IF" they make a power designed around lockers, we could look at changing how this perk works. Otherwise it's... underpowered for most.

  • It could work. But at the same time, would they all stack? Because if so, that could be hilarious to look at.

But they already are. Even if it's single player, he should be able on average wipe out 2 players from the game. What's that if not power role? But you want to go even beyond that. You want them to have free wins (more then 50% of enemy team eliminated by SINGLE player).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3289012#Comment_3289012

I can agree with that. If you give good suggestion, I would 100% support you. For both sides (but sure survivor side is MUCH MUCH more about RNG then killer's side - IMO killer side is OK the way it is right now, but sure enough there could always be improvements).

I guess we just have diffrent definition of a power role then. Imo killers should have more than 50% but lower than 60% killrate. That just makes sense to me. (Also can you stop with "free wins"? I didn't say anywhere I want either side to have free wins, I'm just breaking down the statistic you used with logic)

  • @Gandor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3289003#Comment_3289003

But you talked about percentages and being fair that killers get more then 2 kills on average. So I will ask again. If 2K/2E is middle ground and exact tie. Why should one side (any side for that matter) get more then that (on average)?

Because they're the power role. (The killer in this instance)

  • @Gandor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3288980#Comment_3288980

why? Why in multiplayer game one team should win even if they don't earn it? Would you be OK in any other game if you lost because you are on specific team? Say in LoL you probably loose because you are blue team?

Sure the game is asymmetrical and that's fine. It means one side does different thing than the other side. It should by no means mean that one side should be handed win over the other side for free. Also why do you thing it's killers that deserve free wins instead of survivors (I think no side should get free wins BTW)?

    You're misunderstanding me.

This is an asymmetrical game. So by logic, the side with less characters should be as powerful or more powerful than the team that has more players in it.

Nowhere did I say that any side should get a free win??

  • Sure with the other suggestion but I feel like this:

-While activating her power, the screen will become blurry and an audible heartbeat/breathing will begin.

    Could make people sick.

  • @Gandor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3286306#Comment_3286306

What? This is survivor buff. not killer buff. It's buff to actually weaker role. Check stats. 60% kill rate. SoloQ can't handle anything. Even best survivors have 50% escape rate on soloQ. Best killers have exactly 100% win rate - 530 games in a row. Only SWF have almost equal chance against killers. And yet as killer I win much much more then survivor

Aren't roles then "technically" balanced then? If we go by %.

50% would mean that every game, 2 survivors will die.

60% means that every game 2 survivors will die and maybe a 3rd one. Which gives the power role (killers) the advantage they should have.

It wouldn't nerf the Perk entirely. The aura reveal (alongside being paired with Lethal Pursuer for longer reveal) is significantly better than its old incarnation once was, even with the removal of the locker speed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3257859#Comment_3257859

The reason my version forces them to fast exit out of a locker is because it would feel a little more appropriate than a Survivor screaming. And it revealing the aura would be able to give the Killer some more capability to actually go after the Survivor that went into the locker. They now know the direction the Survivor goes, therefor they can plan accordingly.

Iron Maiden is a bad perk (on other killers than reload ones) because survivors usually ignore lockers. It's very unlikely to get Iron Maiden to proc in a normal match.
