  • Yeah I have exit lag and these Oregon servers are almost non existent through out most of the day, the Oregon servers are the only servers where people that play on west Canada can actually get good ping. I’m constantly being connected to ashburn servers or Ohio servers and I’m living in Vancouver so my ping is 75-80ms which is terrible. I never had a problem connecting to Oregon servers like a week or less ago consistently and now I hardly ever connect to them unless its at a niche part of the day..

@Mandy whats going on with the Oregon servers? This is outrageous that most people that play from Alberta/Vancouver and upper areas of Seattle/washington or NA west in general are now going from 30ping to 75ping.😔😕

In that case, the only thing I can think of is there aren't enough players around your MMR to match with. Otherwise yeah that's bad.

I’m thinking you’re right on this one, I am getting very high he players and it’s still early on west.. makes sense

  • @SkeletalElite said:

When the server matching is acting up if you're on PC you should use wireshark to check the IP of the server you're in while in the lobby to determine its location. It's possible to do theoretically on console too but is probably too complex for a typical user

I have exit lag. I can see what server I’m on in the lobby.

  • Right on kiddos, like I said that killer is boring to go against. Anyone who genuinely thinks that killer is balanced with counterplay still needs to go against any houndmaster that’s played her a decent amount. The transition time after channeling her dog needs an increased cooldown too,

You camp a pallet when she shoots her dog, you stun it off you, powers back what seems to be instant, she shoot’s her dog at you again you flare, she has no transition cool down afterwards, catches up to you and you get m1d, and from that time after you get m1d either you get to a pallet or you die cause you’re zoning yourself flaring the dog. You also can’t vault windows against that killer 90% of the time.. it’s broken dense gameplay.🥱🥱🥱💤

  • When she gets her power back instantly after you stun the dog off yeah,.

If your ping is the problem your lucky.

I keep getting randomly disconnected from the server and even if it happens once a day or if i quit for a day it'll give me hours long timeouts, it just gave me a 24 hour one out of the blue.

I cant even play the game-

No that doesn’t happen to me at all. But I think your problem might have something to do with the devs shutting down the San Jose servers during the event and opening up Oregon servers which is making everyone’s ping jump and rubber band in game..

  • Having the precision of a mouse allows you to flick and mind game easier playing killers with mechanical skill I.e: huntress, oni, nurse, blight, billy because of a bigger surface area. Like if I play billy for example on mouse and keyboard I can feather my chainsaw, mind game left and right at a filler pallet and curve faster and more precisely to down a survivor easier compared to controller even tho mechanically billy plays the same on controller without the luxury of dpi adjusting..

It’s like insta flicking with Wesker too. It’s easier on mouse then controller because you have the precision and surface area if a mouse compared to controller.

  • I hate playing billy on M&K due to it being uncomfortable compared to controller. Playing billy on controller is functionally the same as M&k, infact I personally think 360ing is easier on controller due to the binary movement making it easier to hug loops easier giving you an edge to curve at most loops compared to m&k. I will argue till I’m blue in the face that playing survivor for eg is better on controller because you can hug loops easier. There’s alot more to controller then what people think.

  • None cause I’ve just been playing Hillbilly lol, but the first killers that easily instantly without even playing them come to mind are any killer that doesn’t have mobility.

  • Separating a small player base with a game mode that mechanically plays the same that will inevitably get boring to the majority of the player base faster then what people think will result in increased queue times. Chaos shuffle is alright, it’s really nothing amazing, I went back to public matches after I completed the event tome, I enjoy my algorithm of meta..sorry having another permanent game mode ain’t healthy for the game..

Why is that addon combination supposed to be broken? That much speed becomes basically not controllable, especially during the initial curve window... If the extra speed would not work in overdrive that would almost buff him... Because you wouldn't have to worry about the immense speed and how to control it...

Once you learn the timing window to curve with Iri engravings while in overdrive around loops it’s very overtuned and quite easy to do.

  • Hillbilly needs a lot more then just an overdrive nerf, eg: spiked boots with Iri engraving with a 1 sec initial turn rate is down right broken on that killer, those addons shouldn’t work while Billy’s in overdrive nor the 1 sec turn rate..
The way that billy can just rev camp hooks now is ridiculous too all while still being able to build overdrive

I think hillbilly is pretty much equivalent to oni that’s always in his power now and as crazy as that sounds I think it’s close to true. Billy is currently the 2nd strongest killer in the game.

  • A twitch streamer named Polysypher used to do this years ago with billy only it was called drift King Billy where he used double boot addons that increased his steering while sprinting with the chainsaw and bought a coldwind map offering everytime and he would play this everytime:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-Vfyh5Bknhc
  • The bonus bp will be missed forsure, what won’t be missed is all the red trails of blood that were mistaken as scratch marks playing killer…

  • Freddy has a 63% kill rate which makes him the 4th deadliest killer in the game, this is one of the 4 Freddy mains making it happen lol, congrats

  • Excluding Nurse obviously, Billy, Blight, Wesker and spirit can’t hit you over pallets like xeno can rather instead those killers have to mechanically outplay survivors around pallets. Stunning those killers opens up a fairly big window for survivors to make distance to another pallet gym/filler. Xeno has a stronger power then Wesker, Billy and Blight forsure at pallet tiles, for spirit you need to pre throw pallets, listen to her phasing win 50/50s, break to another pallet, pre throw rinse and repeat.

  • DwichaelJackson what have you done!!!

  • @abrooks1 said:

Obviously hitting survivors on hook is demeaning and very off putting and festurating are there any plans to maybe do something about the like hinder the killer or make there recovory longer for hitting spmone already hooked If obviously it's not intended to be a nice thing. I have had 5 back to back games getting hit on hook or the killer just being the most toxic person ever

Bro stop running the killer for 4 gens.

  • Well killer is at its easiest to play compared to over the previous years, with perks such as pain resonance, pop, corrupt, grim embrace etc it makes solo queue in particular very unplayable especially if the killer is competently downing survivors quickly.

A full team on comms that hard focus gens with atleast 2 people using reassurance/SB combo, OTR and strategically making safe unhooks to get deli up will almost always 3 man out 85% of the killer roster in pubs because most killers proxy camp/tunnel hooks as it is one if not the most effective ways to secure pressure. With that being said imo that’s to much coordination from survivors and there for you never see that level of gameplay in public matches…

I will say this that Nurse, Blight, Hillbilly, Spirit and Wesker are to oppressive, overtuned and way to competitive for the majority of survivors to face against in public matches nowadays. In a competitive setting in customs those killers are fine has there are certain rule sets and good survivor teams to make up for how strong those killers are. Those killers are a problem in public matches as they have far to much mobility for the average survivor/Swf to go deal with.

I know I wouldn’t sound crazy that those 5 killers should only be allowed to be played in customs only but it’s really getting close now especially with the gen regression meta currently.

  • Skullmerchant is laughably broken especially playing solo queue and without comms, I also feel like I’m playing a single player campaign going against her all the time..

  • @RoguePatriot said:

There is absolutely no reason for killers to leave the woods when you could hold a 6 gen, surrender the theater, and pressure all the pallets that are basically in the middle of the map so you can destroy all the good loops... i mostly play killer, and its shocking to me that this map has the worst gen spawns ive ever come across in my favor, god forbid the survivors play against a plague main or a half way decent skull merchant... with the amount of dead space available for other gen spawns, im optimistic theyll soon realize the potential of this map

This was my thoughts too, and once all those 25 one ft long filler pallets are gone (which doesn’t take very long) that’s it.. that’s pretty much all survivors have to avoid getting zoned in trying to break that three gen..

  • New Hillbilly is a perfect example of the saying catch-22. A lot of billy players currently simply find the first survivor, down them, hook them, proxy camp, rev back the survivor going for unhook, pick them up, hook them, then use their chainsaw to immediately go back to the first initial hook to snowball the match in their favour and it’s been like that every game for them UNTILL they go against survivors where they MUST curve.. and that’s why you’ll now see billy less and less again because in order to down good survivors now you need to curve, and curving takes mechanical skill…

  • There seems to be this trend on the come up where these Hillbilly players are running spies from the shadow with deer stalker and just literally slug the whole match until all 4 survivors are down then hook. It’s quite strong especially if the billy player is very good.

  • The ironic part is is that that’s the only safe tile on that map (santum of wrath) for survivors lol. You usually never chase survivors around that tile anyway since there’s only 1 ish gen that spawns at shack or in that general area, it’s no different from the map father campbells chapel that has shack vault stringed into a long wall gym vault in the very corner of the map, you just simply don’t chase the survivors that run there only father campbells chapel is way more survivor sided all around then santum of wrath.

Like the title i just feel bad for newcomers. Not only do i not recommend this game for newcomers and it is just becoming worse now for new players with the PTB changes.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s becoming worse based on the PTB changes for newcomers it’s more so the same 20000-25000 people on the game since 2019 that are already experienced at killer/survivor, then when someone newer tries DBD it’s almost like taking the top high school football team and putting them in the NFL

    No overdrive (remove it)

Overdrive is fun idk why you would remove it. It perfectly distinguishes the new version of hillbilly from overheat billy. And this billy from original billy.

Doom engraving bass chainsaw sprint speed (so 20% of 9.2 m/s)

    Doesn't seem necessary to me.

Revert back to all post 7.5.0 addons

Most old add-ons were linked to overheat. This wouldn't work. Plus his new add-on set except the ones related to overdrive decay is pretty solid. Old add-on set was quite bad.

Tune down Billy’s initial turn rate from 1sec to 0.87 sec

Again unnecessary, why tone it down? Why make it an uneven number?

These are clean, raw simple QOL changes that bring back the pre spirit and nostalgia feeling of Billy.

These are not quality of life changes. They are severe nerfs to the current hillbilly. Nostalgia feeling of billy? I don't understand what you mean at all.

he’s missing something of balance. I miss old Billy cause he was harder to play but was strong when you put in the time to learn the mechanical aspects about him, a bit gatekeepy?

So you like that he was a gatekeepy killer that was hard to play. He wasn't hard to play he was ridiculously unintuitive, that's just frustrating game design. Wanting a killer to be gatekeepy is not in the games best interests.

They should make every killer as accessible but unique as possible, for killer variety. That makes the game more enjoyable for both sides.

Hillbilly was a unique mechanically demanding killer that when once learned with time invested was rewarding just like huntress, Blight, wesker, Nurse only Billy’s ceiling was higher. My suggestions are an in between balance pre 7.5.0 and current.

If you’re like myself who has been playing nothing but billy since 2018 having an initial turn rate of 1 sec with overdrive paired with addons such as T mix, Iri engraving, lopro etc is very overtuned especially in pubs.

  • hmmmm, I think 1 sec turn rate for players that play hillbilly on controller would be alright to a degree maybe (0.85) at the very least but for people who play billy on m&k it needs to stay to 0.75 considering you have the precision of a mouse.

I’m a p100 Billy main with 1000s of hours on Billy and I main him on controller on 100 sensitivity, I can also play him on m&k too curving with q and e @ 800DPI. Controller for me is more comfortable to play with and can often equate to someone using m&k play on controller.

Its not ok that billy can now start to turn and curve a survivor from inside shack back entrance all the way to the window in one swoop.

  • BHVR have mentioned of unbreakable basekit, but wether it’s currently getting worked into the game with the current meta is unforeseen.

Those pesky Blights, glad his addons are finally getting nerfed/reworked, atleast he can’t have infinite rushes and do full circles while in a lethal rush around loops nonstop..

  • Let’s be honest, every scourge hook would be a flop other then ones that automatically slowdown gens as soon as you hook the survivor.

Surely there won’t be a scourge hook that blocks the 3 most progressed gens for 25sec right??….right yeah no way man…..right?

  • There’s no killer queuing in their capped bracket so they get bumped down to the next bracket correct?

Seems like by looking at the screenshot they just slammed gens and simply reassured the person you proxy camped the whole match with charlotte after getting hits with victor, opened the gates and took the three man out quickly as you rancord the tunneled obsession off hook with no slowdowns, and finish top frag on the scoreboard cause you flawlessly made that build work based on what you were up against knowing that not bringing slowdowns will automatically put you at a disadvantage..

And just because it’s a “SWF” doesn’t mean that any of those survivors are good 😉

  • As far as gameplay goes it’s gotta be either oni in his power chasing you trying to flick you or Hillbilly trying to curve you. You can’t top those 2 killers… not even close..

  • We’re coming up on 2024 and it still blows my mind that survivors still don’t know that the best possible thing you can do if the killer is proxy camping their first hook is slam gens. 3 gens should be popping and 2 more gens should be close to being completed by the time that hooked survivor is dead. That’s why adrenaline is so strong

  • Coldwind, Macmillan and Azarovs

I feel a pretty significant input delay sometimes but otherwise I don't feel much of a difference. It might just be my game lagging though (although the FPS are quite stable). Just Billy things, I guess.

I wish for him to get the Off-Brand Motor Oil base kit, so you don't have to turn down the volume to half of what it is normally, a collision rework / fix / Heavy Clutch base kit (otherwise this killer will continue to get worse), some changes to his base chainsaw speed and adjustments to the addons, the removal of overheat (BHVR, do it already. Why keep it when you tone it down so much it doesn't affect the game anyway?), an adjustment to his chainsaw's hitbox to make survivors unable to bodyblock the chainsaw, his old POV and animations and an addon rework.

A buff I would like to see is the comeback of the old bug that allows him to hit a survivor while the animation ends as a feature. This makes countering him a bit harder than "stepping one single step to the side" and allows him to play around some loops that he otherwise can't. It already happens sometimes and it can also lead to him bumping while the animation ends, so there is a risk to it.

A lot of quality of life improvements are needed to make this killer feel less terrible but no matter what they change, he will never get back to his former glory. Maps are what really make him suffer and it only gets worse with each map rework and new map.

I don't get why you would decrease his charge speed though. It already takes long enough to revv the chainsaw, so he doesn't really need that nerf.

The crouch teching needs to go too, it’s so easy to do and punishes billy so much for how little effort it takes from the survivor doing it.

Yes like reducing the charge time to sprint/curve quicker is what I’m saying might’ve been some misunderstanding there..

  • All they needed to do was rework Deadhard to basically what it is now and make some balance changes to maps and that’s really it, they took it a bit to far all at once rather then gradually doing it..

  • Hugteching with Blighted rat, crow and or Adrenaline vial imo is pretty…….overtuned depending on how good the blight is, it’s hard to touch blights basekit because the skill ceiling to play blight is high, but those who defend that hugteching with Blighted rat/crow and or Adrenaline vail when the blights good is fair are delusional, especially in pubs..

  • Do you mean game wide or just Blight as a killer in general, because J flicking as blight back in the day was pretty broken lol

  • I’m hoping for a spider, a giant grizzly bear or a werewolf as the killer.

  • @xEa said:

Getting stabed. Burned by a flamethrower. Falling into lava. Eating alive by a gigantic tarantula

    All fine and understandable.

But wishing someone to step on a lego brick?! You sadistic manaic!

Eating alive by a gigantic tarantula

Hell no, but also why would this be a cool killer concept ;)

  • The only addons that need changing are Alc ring and c33. Blight takes quite a bit of skill to play especially against good teams that know how to flare out against lethal rushes , crouch at right times to avoid lethal rush hits and pre throw pallets accordingly, it’s just waiting for your power to recharge after you’ve missed a hit to try again and hopefully 1-2 gens don’t get done per retry. I think there are ALOT of terrible maps for Blight, I think it’s below 2% of all blight players who actually know how to use proper bump logic to down good survivors, nobody that’s good with Blight will run alc ring over blighted rat and crow anyways. I also can confidently say that 90% of survivors don’t know how to play against a good blight.

Like I said until people have actually gotten decent with blight and played against good survivors you’ll see how much skill it honestly takes to time lethal rush hits against them. Hug teching is a terrible way to play blight because all the survivor that has half a brain cell is going to do is just run away from the tile and circle around a small object forcing the blight to either time a tricky flick around that object or recover and wait until the charges come back giving the survivor distance to another pallet/tile.

  • Fast vaults are messed up again for survivor 😤🫠

  • It’s tuff to decide between reverting back to old survivor movement or reverting back to the way old azarovs, coldwind and Macmillan used to look

  • I always think the resilience perk icon is Megs face for some reason as it would make sense since she’s athletic and that’s what that perk is based around..doing things faster.

  • A good chase is becoming better the last time you chased/got chased at the same generic tile.

  • This might be a good feature that could be implemented into the game at some point.. if the lobby is detecting a game where survivors are getting steam rolled and the killer has let’s say 7hooks already with 5 gens still up the lobby should just straight up forfeit the match and any in game bloodpoints earned during that match will be kept.. This can also work vise versa too.

  • You just have to keep following them until they stun you with the pallet when playing most killers.. This isn’t a bad thing considering that most good survivors will just hold w to either a stronger tile or string the loop into a vault as soon as they get one tiny opening to do so..Bots will always slam pallets rather then greed so there’s another plus just following the bot until stunned, less resources good survivors have to work with..

  • Shack in the middle I’m assuming you were on Rotten fields (coldwind) As Ghostface you can’t really afford to over commit to a chase for too long because you don’t have any mobility to drop the chase if you can’t get a down on that survivor.

As a billy main, I get frustrated at survivors sometimes when they pre drop pallets when I’m buzz light years away from it. That’s why I made the switch to bamboozle and lopro chains over double engravings a long time ago.

At the end of the day survivors are just using the resources that are provided before them and I’ve always said time and time over and over again if you choose to play a killer with no unique mechanical skill ie: myers, Ghostface, pig, trapper, clown, wraith, legion etc..you’re taking a bit of a gamble towards a winnable game or not..

  • Pretty much ever since DH got nerfed and is no longer in every single survivors arsenal killer has become much easier which is kinda insane, because just by the devs nerfing that perk alone made killer ALOT more less stressful to play.
