Wait I thought MMR isn’t affected to “abandons”?
At least that’s what I “thought” Mandy had said recently. That it was a separate matter.
I am so confused.
I would love some details. What is actually happening in all of this. -
I love the new visuals on doctor. Looks a lot more updated.
-
I was thinking that. That feedback was pretty straight forward from everyone that we wanted a revert.

ah, but amazing requires a comparison to some standard. That's what makes something amazing - it's superiority over something less superior.

Aye, your rework is an interesting take, and it certainly sounds unique for Sadako.
The only reason I never commented on it is the logic of OG Sadako was reversed to my mind, and while I understand your rework and it would probably be fine, its not intuitive to my brain, so I don't feel like I could genuinely add to/argue legitimately for it. Survivors only grabbed a tape to try and remove condemn, there was literally no other reason to grab a tape since Sadako disabled her TVs longer than survivors did.
This to me means however the condemn management is less unique for the survivor side, it's effectively like fighting Freddy, where you ignore the effct while its not a problem and when the effect needs to be dealt with you come off gens and go deal with it with a quick fetch quest.
A modified version on modern Sadako with the global condemn and a tape effect sees survivors responsible for managing their own condemned dynamicallybbased on what is going on in the trial, and makes facing Sadako feel more unique.
At least that's how I see it, old Sadakonfeels like she was more aggressive about targetting a specific survivor for condemn. Modern Sadako feelS like a more slow burn across the whole team. Since i have a preference for modern Sadako, I don't think I'm the right guy to argue for a version that focused much more on OG Sadako, but certainly wont argue against your version... it sounds cool 😅
He's got some great ideas too in this thread. Him and I have spent a lot of time exchanging ideas together.
I hope a Ryan or a dev sees this.

Cool, no worries that man!
Yeah that's a fair shout.... as I think about it, tape destruction does handle the "eat a hit to rush deliver the tape" issue she has right now.
I'd happily accept this version instead of the passive condemn build up... in fact as I'm thinking about it more, I actually prefer it, since the killer is rewarded for ending chases rather having a "stall for condemn" cheese issue she would have with the passive condemn method
This feels good too as well!

Playing like that is completely fine. She already has a cooldown for each Tv! She doesn‘t need two and survivors already can hard counter her. Complaining about that part of her power is a skill issue.
Facts! People actually felt awful playing her when there were 2 split cooldowns. It was very frowned upon. I agree. We do not need to go back to that.

Then these suggested buffs come into play, and survivors have to carefully balance risk while the killer doesn't have to do anything besides spamming teleport
The killer still has to chase you…Which she has 0 chase abilities. She has to down the you around loops. No antilooping ability. There should be Risk and Reward. Right now there is just Reward. Its not balanced.

Yeah, on a single TV. There is a lack of game sense in being able to teleport to a TV with no survivors by mistake and being able to instantly correct that mistake with little punishment, and in fact reward thanks to the way condemn works. Not exactly sure how what you said makes that not the case
So turn the other tv off? Its that simple.
-
@lettuchia said:
They need to bring back projection cooldown to punish lack of game sense and mindless condemning, then they can buff her
There is no lack of game sense. You turn the tv off and literally hold 2 of her 3 powers for 70 seconds. Its literally that simple.

I don't think there's any one thing that makes it too complicated, I think there's just too many individual parts happening to juggle. It makes her more akin to killers like Vecna and Dracula, but with those killers, there's the consistency of knowing each individual part comes from the killer and has its own associated cooldown, making them easier to understand.
For this version of Merchant, you have:
- Passive drones still scan you, and their counterplay hasn't changed so you're still dodging beams (albeit with much less reason to bother now)
- Active drones are their own damage source and you need to keep in mind where they are and how they're hurtling at you
- If a drone hits you it puts a Claw Trap on you, and you have to be aware of that making you vulnerable to her other damage source
- The GDP lurks constantly and could be activated at any moment, causing more to keep track of when it happens
- On top of all of this, you have to remember that she can see you on her scanner at various times, which adds to the mental stack
She just has enough things happening with just enough delay between them to overwhelm the mental stack. This is the problem many people had with her before, and before, the various parts were staggered in such a way that they added up to the same basic premise: "get scanned and the chase gets harder, so don't get scanned". The interaction was one thing to keep track of even if there were multiple moving parts- the only other thing to keep in mind was her unpredictable stealth, making for only two broad elements to remember.
Here, she has many more broad elements- even if each only does one or two things and isn't as hard to keep track of individually, it adds up to more in practice because of how varied they are and how they affect different parts of the trial, not just actively being chased by her like Merchant's old effects.
If what she had before was too much to keep track of, this definitely will be.
Literally my thoughts exactly.
-
@UndeddJester said:
I agree with the premise, there are lots of ways you could do it. My personal take was trying to reduce the noob stomp nature of her by bringing back some off the Sadako v1's skill expression.
- Global condemn applies 0.5 stacks around powered TVs.
- Teleporting directly to TV applies an additional 0.75 stacks to survivors in range (same elevation only, looking at you Gideons and Midwich).
- Tapes apply condemn at a rate of 1 stack every 40s. (30s seems a little fast when you have global condemn in play and the new ability to pressure someone with 1.25 stacks per direct teleport).
- It takes 1.5s to insert a tape (up from 1s).
I believe this gives targeted teleports and good reads greater value, especially with her hook lock in, while making the mindless TP spam much less effective, and the decision to grab a tape isn't too intimidating, while also not being something you can do completely for free.
I would be very happy with this design personally.

The RNG is often messed with by chests and event items too, this really needs looking at.
What's sad is that this was just a normal game. No blood moon event. Not entity coins offered by survivors.

Great way of easily defending the strongest gen on the map though.
Not really. It only impairs me by sticking 2 tvs there. Click and click. Bye bye power.
-
It'll never be a public stat. I will take stats like how many times did I vault a window/vault? How many pallets did I destroy in a map? How many times did I hit a survivor? How many times did I condemn someone. (In total) I would love to know the number.
-
This concept does seem interesting devs! Good thinking!
My thoughts -
*This design might be a little too complicated to use in the heat of things in a trial. New killers that are playing the game will really struggle with this. New survivors will struggle with this as well for sure. Vet players still struggle to a degree with more complex designs.
*I really like the global detection power, but it will be WAY too easy to counter sadly. You will likely not get any value out of it once people know how to counter.
*I love the idea of a little drone buddy, that is really neat.
*I think it would be neat to have Skull Merchant layout drones in areas she walks too, but they not only scan the area they move around in that area actively scanning for survivors. This will still give the trap mechanic that people really want to keep with her as it is her identity. I don't have all the other details layed out in my head after that, but this could be a starting point.
I will keep thinking on this and get back to this post at later time if I come up with more thoughts/feedback.

At the very least, I don't even care about the bloodweb animation- just remove it so that each center node click takes a fraction of a second.
Thank you. Now, back to your regular scheduled programming…
They said they were going to put in a button to allow us to spend bp in a bulk way, but I don't know how much. There was 0 details on this. I wish a Dev would kindly give us a little insight into this. I hope there are more features with it too. That would be awesome personally.

The longer this game exist, the more bugs pop out like a can of worms.
It was a little annoying because there was a survivor on that generator in the street. Do you think I was able to get to her in time much less condemn her? Nope. The tv was way to far out of range. I don't even think the brown addon to extend the range would have reached her sadly.

I am always open to ideas. I think brutal can be increased to 30%.

Sure I could have done so a few years ago but I spread my points across all survivors & killers (no I don't know why either!)
Kate will be next I imagine at least on survivor, Trapper will most certainly be my first p100 killer.
I just wish I hadn't blown through over 2 million bloodpoints on bloodshot eyes this past few weeks 🙄 biggest waste of blood points i've ever spent even the ones I did use provided such terrible returns please devs let me trade them in even if at half value! Don't let my Meg be stuck with that waste for all eternity she's already lost in the fog give the girl a break!
Well guess I should bank some points to give the new survivor a few prestige levels on release.
Good luck to you all in the fog (regardless which side you play) & a special good luck to those that are on their personal p100 grinds regardless if its their 1st or their 10th!!
Congrats! :D

There are multiple killers in DbD, that have ridiculously outdated and/or poor add-on sets, with only a select few worth running.
I firmly believe that all these killers should get an extensive add-on pass, maybe even in a patch solely dedicated to them.
These killers are:
The Hag
The Shape
The Deathslinger
The Executioner
The Demogorgon
The Nemesis
The Twins
The Onryõ
The Unknown
The HoundmasterDid I forget anyone?
In my humble opinion I would like to add 2 to the list if that's okay?
Pinhead being the first one. His addons like most killer's "require" you to run certain ones for his power to be effective. This defeats the purpose. The power should already be effective. The addon should be the enhancer. AKA Impaling Wire. The need for this one.
Plague. While she has wonderful addons the pass would be more of a balance check mostly on her iri's. Perhaps if we take away some strengths from that we can add it in a spread to other areas for her addons?

I agree 100% my friend. They are getting behind with this. We need a patch down the road dedicated to just this or have someone on the team just specifically work this project to implement over the next couple of months. I imagine it shouldn't take too long? The current version can fully condemn you in 7 x 5 seconds = 35 s. The second version condemned you in 14 seconds x 8 = 128s. I‘m probably wrong by a few seconds but you see the what I mean. This is without the take break. Wait I made a mistake I will edit it.
Sure she is easy to counter if you understand her, but there are more than enough people that don‘t, otherwise she wouldn‘t be the 4th deadliest killer.
I agree that she should have counters, but she shouldn’t be designed to massively screw over clueless survivors and get easily countered if you understand her. She is much less noob friendly than her previous versions.
I am not trying to screw over anyone. All I want in this OG post is just a solution to my tapes being held hostage for free. That's it my friend. Nothing more nothing less. I don't have the perfect solution and maybe my ideas are just terrible, I am sorry, but I am frustrated. Balance should be achieved on both sides.

I don‘t agree. Survivors have to know 30+ killers, which all have different counters and some are quite difficult to understand. You can‘t expect survivors to perfectly know how she works especially with her insanely low pick rate. Survivors should not lose because they get spammed to death and have no clue what‘s going on. In her first and second version this was kinda fine, because it was slow and gave enough time to react, but now it is insanely fast. This makes the problem of being a noob stomper even worse than in her previous versions and requires survivors to have a super free counterplay which renders her very bad against some survivors. Another thing is that her counterplay is in no way obvious. Cleansing stacks by delivering tapes - okay, but having to turn off a TV in advance to be safe - try to come to that conclusion if you are new or rarely encounter her.
Her second version was not slow at all. Spam Tp, condmen like crazy. Follow survivor with tape. Break it. 2 stacks of condemn. Insta kill because of that feature.
Sadako is so easy to counter. You take a tape out. Done. 1 second animation. There is nothing else to it. Before loading into the match with her itll display this on the screen for newb survivors, while I understand she is a newb stomper, I still believe its the responsibility of them to make proper counters. That's just part of the game to honest.

How would you fix that she spreads condemned too fast against clueless survivors?
That's not the fault of the killer. That's the fault of the survivor. They need to be aware of what type of killer they are going up against and how to counter them as each killer is different.
-
Mine is the same as yours haha. Just as big :p
The Bulk Spending for BP couldn't come faster, please!
-
This is a bad idea. Seeing the killer in the lobby as a survivor would lead to much higher Queue times.
-
@Langweilig said:
I talked about it with blueberry. Sadly the devs will mostly likely not touch her because she is a noob stomper and has a 65% kill rate. In their eyes she is fine. I also don‘t think you can solve the noob stomper problem in this version. She spreads condemned way too fast against survivors that have no clue and can be nullified by survivors that do the counterplay.
I would like all of the changes, but prefer one and three. The only problem is that the first one needs to apply condemned much slower. 25 seconds would put survivors in a lose lose situation regardless what they do. Something like 50 seconds could work.
Sadako had a high kill rate in her 1.0 version as well. Killrates aren’t the only reason behind balance adjustments. She has an obvious flaw. It needs to be fixed. Please 🙏🏼

- Game should tell survs how to counter killer. Not the best strategies, but the general mechanics info. Casual players don't read everything about everyone, but they should know stuff like - condemn can kill You, but you can remove it by moving tapes from TV to TV.
- Tapes should break on hit and give 1 condemn on such action.
Point number 1 I agree.
Point 2 I sorta agree. Break tape yes. No condemn should be given though. The broken tape is good enough.
Unless IF it worked like ring drawing where the stacks were applied to everyone else. -

I agree, that there should be some downside to picking up tapes.
I use ring drawing every game to make this happen something like that basekit would encourage sadako's to hook and prioritize focusing on tape carriers.
I think breaking a tape on hit could be fine. Maybe a bit too strong? Would have to test.
Passive condemned is straight up too strong with the current state of condemned imo. I dint think that's the best way to go.
Addons are 2 reworks overdue. Most are either useless or bad. They need to seriously be looked at.
I agree 💯

All aura = No gen slowdown. You will be able to crank gens out faster. Distortion is still a decent perk.
