This feature must come to the base 1v4 game queue from 2v8, please. it's such a great QoL feature.
waiting for Killer is extremely tedious.
thank you!
no fix survivor so people want to play the role instead.

Hey folks! With regards to the pallet density changes, as you dig into the changes, if you run into anything that you're not digging please do let us know. We can make sure the feedback is shared with the team.
Importantly, the more specific you can be, the better. If there's a specific loop or tile that you feel is too strong, let us know which one it is - bonus points if you can provide screenshots!this loop is too strong remove the rock.

I wonder how it doesn't matter when on my account I verse comp players with up to 10,000 hours, but my brother, who has been playing for months yet is horrible, also plays with awful people that have up to 200. Lmao if killer is easy to play, you're just too bad to get out of the elo you're in. Having a sook on the forum won't do you much help either
I’ve literally had tony the duff and a 20 hour player in the same lobby you’re clueless

if killer is brain dead to play you are in low mmr hate to break it to you
Lol low mmr as if mmr actually matters. News flash it doesn’t. If you played long enough you would know that. When people accuse someone of being low mmr they’re just telling on themselves.

You could say the exact thing about survivors, but sure let's keep being tribalistic
you can’t actually unless you’re from a different reality. For the record i play more killer than i do survivor. Killer is going to be even less fun now with almost zero challenge because of these new tiles. Some people like me like a challenge, it’s why i thrived on souls games and competitive fighting games. Killer has become absolutely brain dead to play. With the odd exception because certain killers have been left behind.

swamp has these
-
swamp has two tiles like these guess we just gotta learn how to loop small tiles.

just stop with these gross filters

Those on the consoles cannot change the graphics settings, and are locked at "good" I believe.
I’m pretty sure ps5 is just on high, (low, medium, high, ultra) That said consoles should be able to change their settings. Done a bunch of comparisons but i genuinely feel that the ps5 settings look better than my pc on ultra.

So in your opinion it wouldn´t help when Survivors came healed from hook. Since the Killer can still hit you twice? (No difference between Enduring hit and from full health to injured I guess only you don´t need to mend.
Well but if you are in a dead Zone it is most likely not the first chase in the game. Except you dropped all pallets in this dead zone and still ran into it again.
if a killer wants you out at 5 gens it doesn’t matter if you have been healed or have 60 seconds endurance you’re their focus. Increase the duration and they will just eat it to get it out of the way. I’ve been in games where 3 survivors taking hits body blocking the killer etc just doesn’t stop the killer from tunneling.
even after the pallet density update, there are still some maps that have deadzones from the start because the pallet density didn’t even fix the deadzone problem. The killer could also have perks like blood favor which can artificially create a deadzone blocking pallets and you do not have a window. -
@Leon_van_Straken said:
Hello everyone,
today I would love to get some informations from you and your playstyle when you notice you get tunneld.
Often I try to understand both sides in DbD but around this topic I won´t get the right grip.
Often people claim that it is impossible to do something if the Killer goes for you when you got unhooked. But… what are you doing with all the time you get endurance and speed buff? I really don´t get it. In my honest opinion 10 seconds are more than enough time to get to the next loop, pallet or window.
Even if you get hit off hook you get an even bigger speed boost and head start so you could reach safety or do I miss something again?
If you don´t manage to get to a loop in 10 seconds… what are you doing in that time? Or is that the same I saw in 2v8 when Survivors getting hit faster than I can blink by the same M1 Killer?
Please I really wanna know…
some killers can just eat the endurance right away. 60 seconds endurance can’t save you from springtrap, huntress, ghoul, blight, nurse and some others. The only thing that could prevent them from tunneling you is no collision not endurance.
you could also of got hooked in a deadzone where there is no pallets or windows within 10 seconds. -

Except pallet density doesn't only hurts tunnelling killers, but also every other killers that play nicely.
So no, it has to go.
nah if you can’t get a down fast enough its clearly a skill issue.

The PTBs are to test solutions, not a preview whats to come in the next update. Stop making these test out to be promises to fulfill.
Devs have already stated they want solutions to these very complex issues. Don't expect the first, second, or even third attempt to be that solution.
slugging portion was fine and should’ve went through, most of these “evil” content creators think so. the tunneling portion needs some work and i still believe removing collision from the unhooked player instead of giving them endurance was/is the right way to go about that.

It's really not letting the survivors win. I play for 8 hooks but I time manage myself as well. I'm not spending half my game looking for a survivor that's purposely hiding, for example, because it's also on the survivors to realize their hook states are a team resource. I also won't overcommit to a strong looper. Their weakness tends to be altruism and that's where I focus on getting them.
People who 8 hook then kill don't play by "8 hooks or nothing." That's the goal but it's really about time and map management, and honing your skills. It's about purposely avoiding the path of least resistance.
And ultimately, it's about keeping my interest in the game. I need challenge to stay engaged. I still win most of my matches playing this way, and when it's not a win it tends to be a draw. On the odd occasion I walk away with a loss but I don't even care because I know the better players won, and I'm okay with that.
exactly how i play well said.

I personally love challenges and would ignore a recently unhooked surv or go for one of them that has less hook states if I had another thing almost as good as taking one of them out of the match fast.
BUT 8 hooking and win is impossible if you are not Lilith Omen or someone with the same lvl of skill.its not even close to impossible. Im no where near as good as lilith and do it frequently. Yeah the pallet density update made it a little harder but it’s still absolutely do able. I try to be a 12 hook andy but most games its 10 or 11.
Sounds like you lose to many mind games.

Never applies to killers because they indeed have to get good to keep up with all braindead crap survs gets.
Tunnel for example requires you to be good at chases while gen rushing can be pulled by a trained goat, cat, dog or whatever.
I don't like Hens either, but he's right with this take. Dedicate yourself to learn things in general instead of expecting them to get easier.
Balance always have to be done taking high skill at it's base so people have to improve and thus making matches better for everyone.https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4030257#Comment_4030257
All of this and it still not enough because tunnel is still better at dealing with gen speeds. There shouldn't be possible for a single person to finish a gen in 34s or a duo in 22s.
Tunnel and gen rush have to be addressed together.they could make each gen take 10 minutes and killers would still tunnel because they like playing handicap mode 3 v 1. Stop pretending. Killers tunnel because they want easy games not fair games.

@BlackRabies said:

Then try to answer this why should killer players be punished for rushing or just doing their objective, but when survivors rush their objective it's completely fine?
If your getting hard tunneled then it's something you just have to accept since your never meant to run for 5 gens. It's up to your skill how much of the killer's time you can waste and hope they drop chase.
the problem is i can’t get killers to commit to chasing me, i loop them for more than 5 seconds they leave and find someone they can. Then they tunnel that person out and its now 3 v 1 at 5 gens. Survivors at that point are at a guaranteed loss in most situations.
The fact that tunnelling 1 survivor can lead to an almost assured win is the problem.
Killers on the other hand can easily come back at 1 or zero gens. Survivors can’t snowball like killers can and its disingenuous to equate doing gens to tunneling. If you played both sides you would know that.
-
all scrapping this will do is give killers the green light to ramp up the excessive amounts of tunneling just like it did the first time. I don’t trust bhvr to reduce the pallets or fix chainable tiles. So yeah we’re just going to get tunneled easier and faster. Dbd deserves to die at this point. They should’ve reverted the medkit addon changes but nope survivors just need to be weaker.
Why is it okay for a killer to tunnel someone out at 5 gens but not okay for a killer to get outplayed and get a 0k? Why do killers get everything and the moon while survivors just get slapped in the face?
-
well looks like i’m done with this game. Had some high hopes but bhvr just doesn’t care about the survivor experience. They cave to content creators time and time again screw everyone else.
-
and i hope legion stays gone. Not every killer should be in 2 v 8, legion is one of them.
Herbs should come back and never should’ve left.
Escapist needs to change.
-
not surprised this bug returned
-
i’ve noticed this on my partner’s ps5. so i checked my pc, i had to turn down the graphics from ultra to high because after some monitoring i noticed the new lobby that came with 2 v 8 pushes my gpu usage from 62% to 95%+. The old default dbd lobby on ultra i usually sit around 50% this game isn’t that demanding. The new lobby is beautiful but its clearly unoptimized.
Watching my gpu go from 75c in lobby to 68c in an actual match is wild to me.
-
i feel bad everytime i see this happen. I agree with your suggestion.

These stutters are a problem for several patches now. I think roughly since Krasue's release. The stutters usually affect everyone in the match at the same time (When I play SWF and I say something like "Holy, what was that stutter", I usually get the exact same thing from my friends in call.) It's really anoying and can cost you a chase, no matter which role you play. They need to fix this asap
it’s been way longer than that a year and a half atleast.
-
they really did richter dirty, i will gladly keep my money. Hell alucard’s cape is still buggy. Symphony of the Night is one of my favorite games of all time and I do not feel like bhvr has respected the license when it comes to the legendary skins.
-
5- 10 minute wait just for someone to get hard tunneled. Killers quitting because of changes they directly caused. With zero self reflection that they’re to blame for these changes.
I still play killer, i have zero intentions of quitting as i don’t tunnel these changes don’t scare me. I’m enjoying the instant queue, also enjoying having more of a challenge lately. I rather lose a close game than stomp a squad at 5 gens.
-
i feel like im the only one who uses filters to darken maps. Eyrie and corn give me headaches so i have made a filter only for those since its easier to quickly adjust the brightness by turning it on with alt f3 and a click opposed to go through dbd’s graphic’s settings all the way to the bottom and changing the gamma(i already play at its default).

⚠️ Sound the alarm! Pig Nerf!!! ⚠️
Fun fact, Pig's Jigsaw boxes do not count as a Conspicuous Action, meaning OTR and Decisive Strike stay active while doing a box.
This also applies for Borrowed Time ofc, but obviously this is usually too short to matter. However with the new anti-tunnel changes coming in, Survivors coming off hook with an RBT on their head, even at base speeds can take a quick heal, and still have time to hot foot it over to a Pig Box with their 10% extra haste and get quite a headstart on their headtrap timer.
Now because it isnt a conspicuous action, this buff won't disable, so if they have Resurgence, We'll Make It, or something similar, there is a good chance they can complete a box and then carry the 10% Haste for a short time onto the next one as well...
Needless to say, whether you're a believer head pops should be a realistic outcome, or if you believe that head traps are purely just for slowdown... either way, Pig's headtrap pressure is inevitably hurt by these anti tunnel changes, and hey presto, we've got a nerf to Pig... even if she isn't tunneling. -🐽-
Compensation pl0x?
Given that her timings are pretty dependent on numerous factors, such as map size, box spawns, survivor speed, etc, etc... all of which have gotten progressively worse for her over time.... her 150s base time with no changes isnt gonna cut it. Just cranking down the number seems a bit of a problem (and definitely supporting a headpop playstyle)... so what to do?
Personally I vote for Ruleset Number 2 basekit to compensate. Would make a number of her add-ons better passively (such as Jigsaws Sketch/Annotated Plan, the Gears Add-ons and Amanda's Secret), and actually mean Pig has a much better time tracking her headtraps in your average game to work out her pattern and play around it accordingly. ^🐽^
they shouldn’t be considered a conspicuous action. Also i think rbt’s need to be treated like wesker and krasues infection, where in if you hook someone with an active trap the timer resets.
-
@Mandy said:
There were reasons why we added Conspicuous Actions to the switch off the effect off the perk, the main one being how abusable it was that the survivor could do anything and not be punished for it - ie would work on a generator right in front of the killer knowing they were safe from being hooked again.
Survivors do not tend to wait out the effects of the perk, they know that efficiency is important so they work on a generator in a safer area of the map.
while i understand can happen, i much rather that then have a survivor force it on me when im actively not trying to tunnel. The perk as it stand now isn’t really an anti tunnel perk.
As a survivor i feel like i have to force it or i wasted the perk slot . I can’t heal my teammate or i lose it, i can’t unhook or i lose it can’t do a gen or i lose it. 60 seconds of doing nothing is so much free slow down for the killer. It’s wrong.
-
there is a tile on the swamp where a crate is invisible until you get closer to it. obviously it is really bad if you think you can run through that spot, look behind you and don’t notice the box appear.
This needs to be addressed. Meshes shouldn’t just change like that in a game like dead by daylight. They should be static and visible throughout the entire match.

It's not something I typically do and it was scuzzy, I fully admit that, but occasionally exploiting a bad system makes it easier for me to talk about how bad it truly is. The point remains. OP speaks like it's the survivors fault when these things happen, but I didn't do anything skillful here. I was carried by perks. What were these people supposed to do better? There's nothing in place to help survivors in a situation like this except people saying get good. Even the 90s recovery from the ptb wouldn't have been enough to fix this. The current system is relying on killer's being honorable, and that's not enough.
I see, misunderstanding then carry on.

I dont think that's quite fair. Soloqers aren't much of a team, so the concept of teams aside, the info-heavy nature of survivor sometimes makes things snowball so impossibly fast that they can't counter. Some examples from my matches:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AJ1M04S4LS95/1995efdb04e92-screenshoturl.jpg
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PVCF1ZKII5RD/199bc93304687-screenshoturl.jpg
These matches were about two minutes long. Both groups failed to read my perks and they really didn't have much time to do so. The more people that showed up, the more aura read I gained from their items. The Weave symbol would have shown up on their screen but they were probably too focused on the problem at hand. One by one they came into aura range to try for a save and got downed. They wouldn't see the Forced Hesitation coming, nor do people expect Lightborn on someone running Franklin's. So were they bad? Idk, I never got to find out. I wouldn't even say they screwed up. They just didn't have a chance to try and there's no comebacks without perks.
why are you full team slugging at 5 gens. Like you’re part of the reason this game is so miserable.
-
@HexHerbz said:
This is what everyone wants lol. Everyone want's survivor to be extremely easy. Like the saying goes you reap what you sow

This challenge is easy though?
in theory yeah, but i played several games in a row where zero survivors even went into the void. Kind of hard to complete when survivors pretend it doesn’t exist.
-
the fact that killers also need 15 hooks in the void too. Like bhvr doesn't think about anything they do.
-
lets say I did have a friend who was interested in playing. At this point I would recommend them to not buy it. New players have so many perks to grind and so much money to spend. The shrine is essentially worthless. The grind to unlock perks is horrible. Thats not even accounting for the current state of the game.
Bhvr really should make it so the shrine has every perk available at all times, while also removing tiers from perks. Whats the point in blue and green perks at this point? Most people have purple perks, it just adds another layer of suck for new players.
-
honestly they should just remove it so our bloodwebs can feel less cluttered with a useless item that was killed in 7 days.
-
ill trade you pallets for the anti tunnel anti slug update pick one or the other.
-
fog vial died in less than 7 days because of killer complaints. Anti tunnel anti slug didn’t even get past 3 days of the ptb before bhvr walked it back. We didn’t even get to test these changes in a public scenario.
The first time anti slug and finisher mori was tested, both got scrapped but we did eventually get the finisher mori even though it completely craps on potential unbreakable plays and buffs slugging for the 4k.
The anti tunnel and anti slugging update should’ve came to live, with zero changes. Bhvr has said before when it came to nerfing the ghoul they didn’t want to be reactionary they wanted to collect months of data first. Why does that only apply to killers?
Now we see killers whining about pallet density because oh no they can’t get 30 second downs anymore, the games not easy they gotta work for it. It will only be a matter of time before bhvr reduces them again because the survivor gameplay experience doesn’t matter to bhvr.
Its a shame really as I play mainly killer, i don’t tunnel, slug or proxy camp. I don’t go back to the hook unless its a 2 v 1 scenario in which case its the only thing to do. The anti tunnel buffs to killer would’ve been good for me, i could’ve stopped running barbecue, i could’ve stopped bringing pop freeing up 2 perk slots for other things or had them in scenarios where I never brought those perks.
God forbid my killer brethren have to work for their wins though.
Honestly while killer queue times we’re taking forever i started playing survivor more and as a result i can see how boosted bad killers are, they shouldn’t be in higher or even mid mmr but they get there anyway due to tunneling which makes them never learn micro and macro play.
Don’t even get me started on comp play because as far as im concerned dbd comp is bringing this game down. There is no coincidence that the rise in popularity of comp also brought the rise in how terrible this game feels for both sides of the player base.
-
otz, hens, ohtofu etc are ruining this game. I like them and all but they shouldn’t be listened to anymore when it comes to balance. Ohtofu whines about anti tunnel anti slug then out right says he refused to play solo survivor because of krasue. Not all of us play the game for a living. Some of us have limited game time and waiting 5-7 minutes for a match just to get tunneled at 5 gens is miserable.
-
@Mandy said:
Off the Record was always on our list for changes, even without the tunneling solutions tested, we were aware on how the perk was able to be weaponised and felt that 80s Endurance was a pretty long length of time, it's part of why when adding it back, we've halved the duration so it is still strong in a situation where a player is being tunneled but it will be in a healthier position which won't allow it to be weaponised in the same way.
anti tunnel and anti slug should’ve went live with zero changes while you tested and collected data from the public for months. You know like you said you were doing for the ghoul. The finisher mori and anti slug were tested the first time around and look what made it in. Killers get everything and we get to suffer. Off the record can be weaponized? Just admit that you guys don’t care bout the survivor game play experience. You’e killing this game by listening to content creators pushing comp. start focusing on the casual experience.

Though it can be my monitor I confess sinces its not 4k like my tv which dbd shows way prettier on my ps5.
with the 4060 rtx you should stick to 1080p. The 4060 only has 8gb of vram. Your monitor needs to be atleast 120hz to go to 120 fps. Your frame rate can’t outpace your monitor’s refresh rate .
-
dead zones still exist, its stupid. They added a ton more pallets and put them where they shouldn’t have leaving most deadzones completely untouched.

only times it has happened to me was against hackers who instant downed the entire lobby hooking us all. Match couldn’t of been longer than 40 secs to 90 secs. Same dude has killed me like that 4 times and he streams it too. All 4 times i lost a grade.

I’ve been known to be tamed, but its never a full group unless they all bring bardic or do something like that. Usually i’ll just let the tamer go. Or if we’re in a 2 survivors left situation and I see 1 survivor still cranking gens and I know the other is hiding for hatch. I’ll hunt the hider and let the gen doer go. I respect players who don’t quit too much to let the hider go on principle. If you hide you die. Be a good teammate, don’t be selfish.
