Same. I'm bummed they're still so insistent on the Finisher Mori considering reception to it has been lukewarm at best... but I think we all know moris are likely coming to the Store so it's coming whether we like it or not

I'm hoping they'll listen to feedback in the 99% chance it's crap. They've been more in-tune with the fanbase, and I hope all they will do is make Cypress Mori basekit and maybe add alternate Mori's in the store. That would be a good change! Anything else - especially that terrible tester they did a while back - would feel a big disappointment.

I wish they'd leave these small things alone and focus on more pressing issues. There is more they could be looking at than something which isn't broken.

I see what you mean, thanks. How could this be addressed then if they were to bring the mode back in the future? Insta-cage downed survivors maybe?

Insta-cage is what I'd go for. If it's meant to be a fun mode, then they need to remove as much of the stuff that isn't. The slugging put me off. I paired with one killer who did this and I just kept stomping them into cages. The guy got pissy afterwards, but I just said that I don't think it's fun, the survivors don't think this is fun, and it's just not challenging enough to slug everybody - it's easy mode for kids.

  • I hope this will mainly be an add-on update, since his add-ons are uninventive. I loved the changes they did to his power, but I do miss the variety the previous add-ons had.

  • I read about "Finisher Mori" and my heart sank. The idea was terrible before and the Offerings are absolutely fine as is.

Regrettably, I don't see how this change can be anything but negative, with the exception of Cypress Mori becoming basekit with no other changes.

  • Academia (Dark, Light, etc.) would be a nice addition.

  • In an odd way, this might be a teeny, tiny assistance towards killers who do not tunnel or camp. Survivors may think 10 seconds is longer than it is and become a bit too complacent, meaning there may well be a small amount of time longer it's just 3v1.

Again, it's really minor, but a hook is still a hook, and it doesn't change the pressure put on survivors. I doubt this will do much except create a bump in the road for campers.

The very last game we had (6 man swf) the killers killed everyone off. My friend was on the run, searching for hatch. She ran through a pallet loop and Huntress steps in front of her. Both stop and stare at each other. My friend turns around and Wraith steps up behind her, trapping her between the two killers.

She turned to look between the two who nodded at her. Then she slowly hunkered down and lay her item on the ground. Both killers looked at each other, seemed to shrug and let her off the hook.

She then opened the exit gates and literally escaped with one mm left on the clock. That was so fun to watch.

That's what we like to see in the fun mode: just funny moments! I mean, sure if they had killed them then that's fine too, so long as they played respectfully. However, those moments are always amusing and should be lauded as positive examples.

  • It won't make tunnelling more needed because those who think that are most likely (with a few exceptions) to tunnel regardless the reason.

It's more of a QoL change which will give Survivors a tiny edge against any Killer prefering to hang around a hooked survivor instead of hunting. It's unlikely to make any huge difference, but it may make those who do camp think twice about what they want to do, without making it completely useless.

  • Patches don't have to be even. They are there mainly to improve certain areas of the gain, whether it's a Killer needing tweaks to make them more/less effective, perks being altered and so on, often as part of a long-term plan.

As a result, a patch never needs to be balanced, as it is the overall state of the game that matters. So no, just because one side has perks buffed does not mean the other side needs to also. It's very evident how this happens in DBD throughout all of the previous patches.

Isn't the point of "prestige" to show off to other players? What's the point of having it if no one can see it.. ๐Ÿค”

They will see it. At the end, on the results screen.

  • Really happy to hear about this coming in. Well done BHVR!๐Ÿ‘

  • The Swamp village map would be a great thing to see, providing it's done right.

The Eyrie Of Crows map could have alternative, art-influenced maps from killers with savant, artistic strengths, with the maps moulded in their image. There are some fun possibilities available.

Finally - and this might be less likely due to it being licensed - but I'd love another Silent Hill map. Lakeview Hotel would be great, as well as Ashfield Heights (If they ever make a second chapter based on Silent Hill 4: The Room).

  • BHVR did the right thing by making this a temporary mode instead of a permanent mode this time round. It's a good way to see how it worked, reactions, unexpected side effects and so on. They can then review this and bring back the mode with more improved aspects.

It's true people will drop off once it has gone, but that's to be expected and some of the newer players may stay because they just enjoy the game. There won't be any need to pitch to bring it back because that's guaranteed - this mode will be returning in future, just like Chaos Shuffle will be (both mode were well-received).

With luck, it won't be too long before it returns, either as a time-limited mode or permanent. BHVR have made two amazing modes which greatly enriched the game.

Even if 2v8 wasn't for me as something I'd regularily used, it would be moronic of me to not notice how positive this has been for the game. I look forward to its return and any improvements it brings.

  • Although I had a break from 2v8 fairly early on due to a few games where excessive slugging became prominent, I did dive in for a couple of matches and they were fun.

Regrettably, there shall always be players who attempt to ruin it for others. As 2v8 continues, those people will start to find ways to either act like wazzocks, or "optimise" their role. However, there will be many others who will try to play this mode for the better.

I'm hoping the devs are able to take onboard feedback regarding bad behaviours, and then use that feedback to make the mode better when it next comes out.

  • There was a period at first that felt very erratic. There was a big difference between different players in terms of ability. However, from my experience (UK servers), the last couple of days has seen more balance.

This may be a mix of some players revisiting the 1v4 mode to play a few trials, or since the second Tome opened perhaps people are diving into that.

As for waiting times, it's been fairly quick as Survivor, and the Killer hasn't been horrendous (anything between 1-10 minutes), but mostly at the lower end.

From my experience, although I'm confident in saying 2v8 will have more people playing, the 1v4 mode is still healthy. Also of note, I've not played with the same people, so it's not a regurgitation of the same few players. I think it's fine with numbers.

  • Same here also (UK). It's especially noticeable when posting a comment. You wonder whether it will even send sometimes!

  • I would agree with this. If this is to be a fun mode, then it should eliminate slugging. There is no interraction required after downing the survivor besides stomping on them, so there's nothing left to do anyway. The killer can send a survivor to the Crab Traps instantly and get on with the killing.

Keeping slugging in as a tactical option goes against this being a more fun mode, and was one of my reasons why this mode only held limited appeal to me. The moment people started optimising tactics was the moment I realised this wasn't for me.

  • The fact that I'm a massive Silent Hill fan makes it understandable that my favourite survivor and killer are Cheryl Mason and The Executioner.

It helps that there are a good number of survivor skins for Cheryl that lets me choose from a number of characters from the franchise. I still would like an Eddie though (and no - as good the Iron Maiden skins are, those Eddies won't do as a substitute).

  • This is pure guesswork, but judging by how it kills, it seems to absorb all the genetic material and then uses the absorbed cells to replicate and create a new skin. It's true form doesn't appear humanoid at all, so it cannot create a perfect human, restricted by its bizarre physiology. However, it's learning.

Whatever it is, I wonder if it's still relatively young and still learning to evolve. In time, it may mimic a human perfectly. However, it's too early in its life cycle, and therefore it's still grasping what it would be like to be human. We are witnessing an early example of a shapeshifter. Maybe somewhere the Entity has found the final version - a perfect doppleganger of a human being.

  • One reason might be that the concept of an ending intensifies the panic from both sides. If the killer knew they could just follow the survivors out, then there is no urgency and the killer would just be calm, patient and lose little emotion. If survivors knew escaping is fruitless, they may give up sooner or just keep hiding without confrontation, resulting in less emotion.

Deadlines cause stress. Knowing there is a deadline ups the stakes.

  • No, but then again I'm not a crap team player who is prone to hissy fits. It may be irritating, but you have little to no idea why.

Maybe they are new players who are getting their footing. Maybe they were all too far away and not sure who was going. Maybe the killer is patrolling nearby and - yes - maybe they are just crap. However, making yourself die on hook is beyond potato. At least a potato sends its roots to seek nutrients. Giving up is just being useless fluff.

they have already seen impact of other modes like chaos shuffle. that is already tried and tested. maybe they could only allow certain amount of lobbies for this mode? i am not sure.

They've seen with other modes, but each mode generates different responses, and 2v8 is the most requested mode. By no means do they see the impact of the most requested mode until it is tested, so the possibility still stands.

As for lobbies, that may also be another reason as to why they are doing this temporarily to start with. In short, nobody really knows, and it would be foolish to dismiss any possible idea within reason.

  • This may be one of the many reasons why they have made this a temporary mode. Perhaps they want to see the impact of how this affects the regular mode to start with, rather than just put it in permanently, then discover a problem afterwards.

  • Achievements are meant to be a mixture of quick and long achievements. Other than recognition that you achieved this, it doesn't do anything of use for the game. No BP. No Shards. Nothing.

This is an achievement everyone will get at some point through playing generally. I don't see the problem.

  • It's biased towards whichever side is the better side in that particular trial. Since every trial is unique, you could have one trial where everybody escapes, then the next has the killers decimate the survivors.

A mixture of map rng, and player skill and knowledge, determines the way the trial is going to go.

  • Back in the day, you could place traps under a hooked survivor, which meant - so long as another survivor didn't noticed, you could be stuck in a loop of hooks and traps with no way out.

Back then, Trapper was more feared. Even now, quite a few people have said Trapper scares them because of always having to watch your feet, and a really good Trapper will get survivors into traps which nobody would have considered placing there. So the perk fits, even if there are many tougher ones out there.

Never underestimate a great Trapper player.

Well Is Fredddy really that powerful ? from what i know most of his power are in dream world

and his power not even his own since it was granted by dream demons so i suppose entity repace them as power source for him

Freddy has a lot more power prior to the realms, and it's been said that The Entity dumbed it down to restrict his power. Granted, Freddy is no threat to The Entity, but without the alterations Freddy would probably savage all the survivors too easily.

with 8 survivors, you get 600% healing if everyone focuses on healing. you don't need more healing. 600% healing is over-kill in the game. the same can be said about that guide gen class. 600% for repair speed is way over-kill. you can finish gens in record time. the fact that gen take less time is kinda weird considering that survivors are 2.5x-3x faster at doing the objective but there is not 3x as many gens. from 5 โ†’ 8 is less then 100% generator. it is like 1.7x generator to do and then when you factor in that each gen is less charges, it becomes more like 1.5x or something compare to the normal game. that is why the games are so fast for killer. on top of that, there is no generator regression perks. 100% extra for kicking gens when there is 2x as many survivors barely slows the game down. All in all, Guide & Medic are borderline useless classes. Yes they increase efficiency of the team but the total efficiency is so high that there is little reason to ever select these classes. If they made generator take longer or healing take longer in the mode, there might be real reasons to select Medic/Guide but there is little reason in current version.

Of course, extending chases and shows your teammate aura of the killer increases healing and generator efficiency. It kinda makes sense that Escapist and Scout are so powerful. extend chases/alert killer presence to the team, 4-5x survivor get to sit on generators. almost twice the amount compare to 1vs4 version of the game.

All that numerical stuff ignores the actual experience in game. As a Healer, I can get people back in the game to do all the gens, without other survivors swarming around. They focus on cracking the gens and making chases, whilst I keep a fast recovery.

You only need one Healer in the group, since the main focus is getting out. However, to say it's useless is just wrong. No amount of mathematics proves contrary.

  • It is reportable. However, the issue lies mostly with yhe devs. I don't understand why this map has not been killswitched, judging by how glaringly gamebreaking it is. I was held hostage as killer for 20 minutes as 2 survivors just waited above a wall.

They eventually stopped, but it's only amusing for a limited period of time. The map drfinitely needs killswitching.

  • The answer is "No" sadly. I think a strong reason why is how personally people take the game and how emotionally vested they are in it. By this, I don't necessarily mean being passionate about the game's wellbeing, but moreso to do with what they want for them.

It's like football. Personally, I don't get the appeal of the game, other than a general kick about with friends. However, if I were to go into a pub with a bunch of fanatics and even dared to whisper "Guys, it's just a game", I'd be bottled and thrown out in seconds. Because to them it's personal, and basically I just spat in their lager effectively.

Passion makes things successful, but being too passionate is what ruins it. People have always been like this (I remember the whole "Only a TRUE Silent Hill fan would..." crap from around the releases of the early games), but in this era of humanity the internet just makes them louder.

  • It's possible BHVR may consider it, but for me Dracula would just have his powers manipulated in the same way Freddy has.

Vecna is a genuine threat to The Entity, with his intellect probably as much as an issue than his powers. However, within the realms The Entity has muted the magical side because it already found out it could not take Vecna by force, so it understands the danger of bringing Vecna in unhinged. Dracula is not a threat to The Entity.

The devs could use the Mark as a way to mute Dracula's power, but then that creates a lore issue for me, because surely someone like Freddy would have also needed this to mute his power too.

For me, the Mark is used to subdue a threat to The Entity itself, as it's already shown how it can boost or weaken an existing power. Pyramid Head and Freddy are perfect examples respectively.

  • If Jason was released as a solo killer, that would be a brutally wasted opportunity, considering the map and survivor potential.

If I had to choose from these options then I would gp for Springtrap, because the other killers would be stronger as a chapter with both a survivor and map. Springtrap stands alone.

I'm going to go for something a little more obscure, although I'm not sure.

  • I randomize every trial already, even as everybody else chooses, and do well.

With "Chaos Shuffle", it levels the field and makes things a lot more relaxing for me, so yes I am biased towards this mode. It's the most fun I've had in this game and when reading the comments then the response was overwhelmingly positive. Even the 2v8 mode has had its fair share of detractors (although, plenty more like it).

Chaos Shuffle is the way forward for me, albeit I'm all for BHVR to keep experimenting. The more options, the better.

  • I based this on the following assumptions:

"Entitled Survivor" is a survivor who will use endgame chat or send a message complaining about a perk being used, not being allowed to escape or some petty complaint that really doesn't need to be dealt with. All the while, they happily BM'd throughout the trial.

"Scumbag Killer" is someone who deliberately tries to make the trial miserable by humping a fallen survivor or decides to just cause a bleedout.

The difference is in the endgame. A "Scumbag Killer" in my opinion will just wait for comments to come in, whilst an "Entitled Survivor" needs you to know how annoyed they are.

Both are tossers, but being entitled is worse than being a scumbag. By that reasoning, were the question asking whether an "Entitled Killer" or "Scumbag Survivor" was worse, I'd say the "Entitled Killer" is worse.

  • This class was my favourite. When used right, the gens could fly by because the healer was doing their job of - well - healing and rescuing, so the rest could get stuck in. I only lost one as a Healer so far.

People are probably still trying to understand the roles and how best to use them. With the Healer role, in a good group only one is really needed, whilst the rest power through, or use their Escapist abilities to keep the Killers occupied.

  • I've played a couple 1v4 trials recently. The wait was around 5-10 minutes.

  • I think the novelty has worn off for me. I've played a fair few trials on both sides and I certainly get why people like it and the potential.

However, recently I've gone into more and more trials where the killer tactic is to slug and leave. It's become rather repetitive as a result. As for the killer side, the waiting time is too long and doesn't give me the enjoyment back in such brief trials.

Obviously, people will have different experiences. Maybe I'm just unlucky, and I certainly will advocate for this mode to stay as a good alternative as many do enjoy it. However, it's not for me. I'll wait for Chaos Shuffle.

  • I think they need to find suitable replacements before removing, if only to keep the Bloodweb more varied.

Personally, I'd love to have some "combination" Offerings. As an example: in a recent Q&A, the devs spoke about trying different things in trials, such as weather. What I would love to see are new Offerings which don't just change an aspect pf the trial, but also offer a BP bonus (even if it's less BP than existing offerings).

If they can put some environmental offerings with a small BP in place to replace the gap left by the mapofferings, then I'm all for it.

  • The trailer (if I remember correctly) showed him turn into a colony of bats, so maybe one of his powers revolves around using this ability to traverse the map quicker.

He may have multiple abilities like The Lich, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say the bat traversal idea might be one of them.

  • I haven't seen one of those "Look at this one chart which can only measure one small portion of the entire playerbase which prpves the game is dying" posts for quite some time. They were always funny because, despite it only ever being one small portion of the overall playerbase, they kept acting as if it were the entire playerbase. I'm glad they've disappeared.

It's a good showing on Steam though. I'd hasten to bet there are millions playing at any one time. It's definitely healthy.

  • It would be bad of it was balanced. These modes work well because they thrive on chaos. No meta builds, no optimal add-ons, just a chaotic bltz of a mess.

Even though it's not balanced, I've experienced both sides wunning, so there is a chance for either side. This mode is enjoyable. Personally, I'd say I enjoyed Chaos Shuffle more, but that's no disservice to this great idea. If DBD had the normal mode, this mode and Chaos Shuffle as three permanent fixtures with which to expand on, the game will be set for a fair few years more.

As more Killers are gradually introduced -as well as potentially more classes for survivor - this has really good potential. Maybe a little bit more balance would do, perhaps.. However, the chaos is what makes this fun. Make it too balanced, and the fun is sucked out.

  • Haven't played Killer in this mode yet, but as survivor I am really enjoying the 400% BP presently! It's like the Anniversary all over again!

  • I'd be for a minor nerf. Not because it's extremely powerful nor anything like that. Moreover to mix up the perks more.

However, were this to be nerfed a little, first there needs to be changes made to lesser used perks to make them more viable. Boost them first, see what the usage is, and then - if Windows of Opportunity is still high up - nerf it a bit.

  • When Nintendo do horror-related games, they are often rather pleasant surprises. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and Luigi's Mansion are games which have been very enjoyable and - especially in the case of the former - groundbreaking.

Emio: The Smiling Man could be another little gem in Nintendo's collection.

  • It's easy to latch on too. Sometimes, you'll have the Weekend Spanner account appear, bringing up a contentious topic purely for "the lols". Another time it can be spurned by someone just having a bad trial against a particular opponent. You can even get people who will make a legitimate complaint over a mechanic or busted perk/add-on about one side and not meaning to start a war, but it becomes hijacked.

Alongside other reasons, topics can quickly spiral out of control into this neanderthal way of thinking, as suddenly everyone involved feels it's either some sort of personal attack, or simply had a bag of popcorn going spare and thinks: "I wonder what would happen if I..."

I'm absolutely on your side (pun not intended) by the way. This constant back-and-forth between those turnips is very tedious and unhealthy, not to mention damaging to anybody's IQ who is unfortunately caught up within it. I'd like it to end and people just to chill, but I'll just be wishing on a star, I'm afraid.

  • It should be accessible to all, so no reason why not.

  • All of them, but this ones my favourite.

  • She's much weaker now, and certainly no longer the Cheese Monster that she was before. Disarm the drones in chase areas, and sneak to do gens if she plonks them there. No reason to give up with her, as far as I can see.

  • In some form, yes. With the Hag Traps, the ability to rid them without light is good. I just liked how the interractions between killer and survivor felt more intense.

Even if it was made that lightburn consumes more battery than normal, it adds more depth to it.
