The situation is something that we will monitor very closely. We are aware of the issues around EMP's in particular which is why the decision is being made to give a nerf to these and we will monitor the results to see if it ends up within the area that we are looking for.
-
This is not a bug, if someone had Wesker selected and did not yet close their game, they would still be able to play as that character.
-
Please refer to the bug report section on the forum, I do believe this issue is already mentioned there - if you can vote up the issue so that we can assess how many players are affected that will assist greatly. Thank you.

I'd rather have BHVR only add licenses that are not time limited from now when it comes to killers and maps.
With a Live service game, that would be impossible.
The joys of this type of game is that things can constantly change and unfortunately that does mean that sometimes things will have to be removed from sale, however if you own the content you will still retain it, you don't lose anything.

I think you should keep EMPs strong, reducing movement speed by 10% isn't really enough and even then it weakens them in chase when the killer's chase power is actually quite strong, the problem is how plentiful they are and that survivors can just grab them mid chase. What if you did this:
- Boxes no longer charge fully by themselves, they stop at 75%
- Survivors now speed up the process by 2.5x instead of 4x.
- Survivors see the aura of the boxes all the time and/or highlight only the ones at 75% (but in yellow if you let them see box so they know the difference between one that is close and one that is still charging up)
- Consider increasing the duration of the EMP on the biopods to deal with 3-genning now that the EMPs are more rare.
This makes it so survivors have to spend 9 seconds opening a box at 75% to get an EMP. Now you can keep them super strong, but they are less available. It also allows survivors to spend a bunch of time making a bunch of EMPs if they want, you might find strategies where someone is dedicated to just making EMPs for everyone. Or you'll find that survivors can make a choice, "do i keep working on gens and forgo the EMP, or do i stop working the gen to get an EMP".
It also gives the killer some built in gen defense similar to wesker/nemesis/skull merchant by forcing survivors to make a choice where they either weaken the killer, but spend less time on gens, or they power through gens and get them done faster, but now the killer is more deadly.
While you are at it, can you remove the slowdown the killer gets when using their power near a hooked survivor? Keep it so that you can't attack to deal with the camping threat, but it feels bad for me to hook a survivor, then look through cameras to find my next target specifically to NOT camp/tunnel, and them i'm punished for doing that.
We'll obviously keep an eye on the situation and see what further (if any) changes would need to be made.
A few things that you've mentioned are things that we have been discussing so we've definitely been thinking of similar things.

Maybe make EMP charge time be changed to 4 seconds instead of 2.5 seconds.
I think due to the amount of changes at once, it's wiser to do it things like that in increments, with numbers it's not too difficult for us to get those through quite quickly if need be. And better to go in at the lower amount given the number of changes so that we can see where an issue lies if something doesn't work as intended. That's not to say the time won't increase again - it's not set in stone, and we can make further changes if it becomes necessary.
-
We are looking at addressing the ease of use of EMP's in an upcoming hotfix How should emps be tweaked? — BHVR more information is shared in this thread. Be interested to know what you think.

This all sounds like a wonderful start and I'll be interested to see how it affects him!
I'm interested for everyone to test it out and see how it feels and how it plays, I think it definitely addresses the major feedback that we're seeing which is that the EMP's are too strong right now for how quickly they are gained.
-
Thanks for the suggestions here, we do have a few changes for the EMP's in particular ready for an upcoming hotfix. We'll be looking at reducing the EMP crates themselves to 4 per map, the generation time increased to 100s (currently 90s), and Survivors will also be slowed whilst charging an EMP by 10% as well as increasing the EMP charge time itself to 2.5s from the current 2s.
Duration of the pod disabling from an EMP will also be decreased down to 45s. There's also some score changes as we noticed Devious points were a little on the low side.
How do those sound?
-
This is by Design, Hoarder should no longer work with Special Items (these have just been defined in the patch notes) and only work with Survivor Items.

Did the devs really just ban this guy because their killswitch wasn't working correctly? wow
nobody is banned due to anything related to the kill switch! We are not banning for people playing as Wesker during the time when the kill switch was unable to be deployed.

I'd rather Larry be weak on release and have the EMPs nerfed heavily in a patch or two than have Franklin's be a permanent part of Larry's build just to counter them.
This is kind of the point yes.

The change to item categorizing was needed, but also the way it's been handled is messy and flawed. There had to have been a point where someone said "What if the Franklin's interaction of dropping an item was preserved, but the killer items were exempted from charge loss?". If the counterplay to a killer's power is going to be baked in mechanics then killers have to have some sort of concrete measure to attempt to counter the counterplay. Franklin's Demise had a significant push/pull strategic effect on how we as players on both sides interacted, but now increasingly that push/pull factor is being carved away. Offloading the cognitive need for survivor countermeasures to be discovered through learning how to use the pre-existing tools and techniques in favor of hard coded binary mechanics really needs to still have room for killers to have soft counterpoints to said hard counters.
Singularity's entire power is in his pods and slipstream infection. The average player is currently not going to remotely see a lot of the potential strength that power has because there no build you can run that allows you to somewhat counter his unique counter mechanic. Franklin's would have been the only thing, but now there is nothing which pretty bad. So instead of push/pull scenarios you get feast or famine scenarios where either you're really good and very lucky to the point where you're probably able to succeed no matter what or you get games where you're gonna spend the entire just not having power outside of glorified surveillance camera with a slow switch back ala twins style.
Why design in ways that are easy to see as frustrating for the average killer player? It's hard to trust that anyone actively working on the game actually plays the game in the same way everyone else does when the design decisions that are making it to live servers are more often than not frustrating and confusing to us.
Whilst I understand what you are meaning, when decisions like this are made, all interactions are taken into consideration. Our team of designers specifically want Special Items to be exempt from a perk working on them so in the same vein as Sadako tapes do not work with Franklins - it's not to do with the charge loss but to do with the item itself.
Don't forget when Franklins was introduced to the game, special items weren't even in the game as the killers didn't have anything, it's only more recently where killers have had special items and having a perk work on those items where survivors have to interact with that item - such as Pinheads box isn't great. So completely separate to charge loss.
Franklins still has a most definite place in the game and is still as useful as it ever was.
-
@Chadku said:
Will Franklin delete items again since the special ones aren´t affected by it?
Nemesis Vaccine was the reason why the item deletion got removed due to it instantly deleting a syringe.
Why are EMPs not affected by Franklin anyways, they´re unlimited unlike the Vaccines and Sprays.
they're not affected by Franklins because they are classed as Special Items not Survivor Items.
-
I'm sorry, whilst feedback is very welcome - opening a thread here to say that we hate killers and that this is proof is disingenuous at the very least.
We welcome feedback and actively act upon a lot of it, of course not all feedback can be implemented. And we are monitoring feedback around the Singularity and are prepared to make changes as necessary. There is an element of skill to playing as this killer which might not be first apparent so we do need to make allowances whilst players get to grip with the character.
-
The kill switch is in effect you should not be able to choose to play as The Mastermind
-
Love that Larry is becoming a popular name!
Also checking in on the Deviousness points, a few people have mentioned that.
-
Whilst I appreciate the feedback around the EMP's - this is obviously something we are going to be looking out for with the latest chapter. Franklins will only work on Survivor Items, not the special items moving forwards, so this includes Sadako Tapes etc, this is not expected to be changed.

It's not my connection that has issues, It's the server. I keep being disconnected from host randomly and that's causing my penalty time to stack and it happens almost daily now when it never did before which is not giving the timer the chance to reset. What's going to be done about this?!
We are unable to provide technical support on the forum which is what you seem to require, we do not have the resources to do so here, neither are we tech support agents. There are articles for technical support on our support site which you might find helpful.
-
The Disconnect penalty decays over time, we do not state how long that time takes - it is for sure a lot longer than the actual penalty to discourage players from disconnecting and giving time for players to sort out their game / internet issues.
-
That's actually not FOV her FOV did not change, her animations have changed slightly, so her arms are more visibile etc.

was hit by the singularity with a biopod, then they hit me into mennd with off the record, proceeded to down me and pick me up. Used DS on them and then my camera switched from Gabriel Soma to following the killer from a 3rd person perspective.
I was able to control Gabriel, but he remained floating in the air in the picked up position. When the killer moved my camera followed them from a fixed 3rd person position behind them instead of following Gabriel so I wasnt able to do much with him.

Dead by Daylight - this would be a customer support issue not a bug report, as bug reports do not handle individual cases. You would not need screenshots as we are able to tell on our end what was owned on an account and what wasn't.

We do not discuss bans on the forum. If your friend contacts our Customer Support team they can give him more information on why he's banned.

"Never say never" is nothing new. You did answer that when we asked for a map based on the All-Kill chapter a long time ago. Yet, still nothing. And that's one example. So do not blame the community if answering "perhaps" is translated into "nope, never" in our ears.
I'm not blaming the community in the slightest, never have never will.
I've explained our reasoning and our "never say never" is because it's not out of the realms of possibility that we will do it at some point but it's not going to be anytime soon and it's not in any of our roadmaps. I can't really be clearer than that on this. It's not something we have planned.

Mandy I don't think you know how the forums work.😉
hey I'm ever the optimist here lol.
-
It's definitely not something in our immediate plans as we said, we do have our reasoning and it's not a widely requested feature right now, we do believe that other things have a much higher priority - it's why we did pepper the answer with the "never say never" just because it's not on our plans right now, that doesn't mean it will stay like that forever.

Higher FOV has just as many implications in 1st person, as in 3rd person. Most 1st-person games limit FOV to a low value (eg. Overwatch limits it at 107). So if you see why that's "obviously a problem" in 3rd person - quoting you - then you can't argue that it's not a problem in 1st person.
I'm just showing people who make the argument that this is QoL, that it's not. It has gameplay implications. One big implication in particular, is that with a high enough FOV, the killer could hide the red stain in chase, while still seeing the survivor.
As soon as BHVR makes the FOV slider available, literally everyone will put it to the max, there's no downside to it even for people who don't suffer from motion sickness. You might argue that killers need this buff, I'd argue they don't, but in any case treating it as QoL is dishonest.
We are aware that this has an effect on gameplay but we have all this information from Shadowborn being in the game anyway so we know the effect that it can have on gameplay. All that is considered by our Design team

So now we learned base-kit UB is cancelled and that's good. But they are still working on end game mori mechanic.
Which means if all survivors are on ground or hooked, game will automatically finish. Last downed survivor will be mori'd and everyone will die.
But this will be buff for slugging, why we are making unfun strategies even stronger? And do i need to mention this strategy is already hurts solo survivors more than swfs.
And also this strategy will make comeback impossible as well (Deliverance, lucky escapes, wiggle out etc.).
And you will be forced to use UB in every game for counter this unhealthy possible mechanic.
I don't know why we really need system like this? Why it is not cancelling for good? We don't want end game mori, we don't want base-kit UB. Just fix your core issues, do not create new issues!
Just to clarify something here, there's no information available publicly yet on how this feature will be brough to the game. Making assumptions based on an early prototype test, which we were very clear was an early test for feedback, isn't helpful. You are assuming that slugging will be part of the feature, but there is no confirmation from us about that.
It's probably better to wait until we are ready to discuss this in more detail before panicking or assuming the worse!

I'll believe it when I see it. It would be a fantastic change though, hopefully they remove the FoV effect from M&A because right now the FoV changing during a game really messes with me.

We're aware of the issue surrounding the "3 gen strat" - we did comment as much in the patch notes for the PTB with the proposed slight buff to Deja Vu to help with the issue in the short term whilst we come up with a longer term solution. So this is something that is on our radar.
-
There's no intention to add BP into custom matches, they're not meant to be matches where you can level up characters or gain anything that can go to the Live game - so similar to a PTB in that respect.
-
I think as Vigil is specifically covering status effects it wouldn't make sense to add in aura reading - which isn't a status effect. Distortion seems to do a good enough job on hiding aura's.
-
What issues do you specifically have with the Colourblind settings - if you can give your experience rather than relying on someone elses video that would be super helpful especially if you explain what type of colourblindness you have and what specific elements cause an issue for you?
For the record, I am also colourblind, so having this feedback is very helpful.

More to come throughout the month of Pride as well.
Thank you for this thread, great to have everything in one place! <3

I'm sorry that you didn't find DbD to be for you. It does have a pretty steep learning curve at the start I'm afraid.
There are some resources that can help with understanding the game The Basics - BHVR we have some information and links on that page, should you decide to give the game another try in the future.

If you're within 4 metres and you're taking a hit for an injured person you would get the protection score event and a stack for MoM. I use this perk pretty much daily and can confirm it works as planned. It's the distance that a lot of people struggle with as yes you do have to be close enough so that you're taking a hit, not blocking the killer a bit further away in order to easily get a hit.
-
To clear up a couple of things. When you use For the People you then activate Made for This - you do not get the Endurance effect then because you didn't heal someone when injured but you do get the haste effect. So whilst there is synergy there, in that you can activate the perk this way, you do not get full use out of the perk.
-
Where you fully Condemned, because yes if so she gets killer instinct on a survivor and if she downs them, she is able to mori instantly.
-
I love this perk and have used it a lot and tend to get some good value out of it if I play aggressively with it. However, with the medkit changes I use it less as it's a bit harder to get those heals from the protection hits.
-
This was added to the Iri Shards purchases back in April 2023, a month ago. So no, we definitely haven't forgotten any of our characters.
-
Foldable Characters - BHVR I think you might mean these?
-
The Sacrificial Ward only prevents the offering from working it does not (and should not) remove the possibility of randomly going to a realm, nor are there plans to make that happen. We have map repeat preventenion in place and players are free to use offerings for maps.
-
Hi the PTB is no longer open, as is usual it closed earlier today.
-
The point of Party Streamers is that they are a stackable bonus across all players - there's no plans to change this.
If you wish to just make extra BP for yourself you can use one of the other offerings, the yellow cake and envelope are personal.

It happend after I got this have error, after I tried to see my rift progress, then I was sent back to home screen in DbD. I got this message, that I got 600 auric cells, the second and last Time I got 750 auric cells and the rift pass was suddenly complete. I hope it will be fixed soon.

Anonymous mode does not affect reporting in anyway, so if you have someone breaking the game rules - working with the killer would be the only one that you put in your list that falls in that category, please go ahead and report them.
The others that you listed are not breaking game rules.
