  • Idk. All I know is ive had 3 matches against her so far and all three we got wrecked. Match ended all all was under 10k points. It was bad.

    Like real bad 🤣🤣

I have zero idea what I'm doing in the orher dimension thingy with the light beams

Can't you pick yourself up in 2v8 by consuming your class ability? I'm pretty sure you can.

Didnt realize you can pick yourself up with a skill set. 😬

  • I like that idea 👆

Why do you want the game to be more than 120 frames? This game doesn't really need it. Anyways it does seem that it's just capped and idk why.

Why? Because I can. I have beefed up my system and thought it odd I can't physically go higher than this despite my capabilities to do so. Was wondering if others have tweeked settings and saw this.

Thats a good thing. This strategy was very powerful and pretty much a death sentence once you were hooked down there

No it wasn't a death sentence. Your teammates could still get you with a little brainpower and caution. This game dude... its doomed....

  • Both sides are frustrated for good reason. Its a lack of balance, and repetitive gameplay. This game was always and will always be hard to balance. Unfortunately the survivor side (4 players) compared to the killer side (1player) seems to be having a worse experience right now mostly solo players. People just leave if they feel their time is being wasted.

IUnfortunately Dead by daylight has that feeling for solo players especially. Especially with the anti go next penalty timers. If people feel cheated due to tunneling or camping and quit... then see a 5+ minute timer they just quit the game instead of waiting.

To be honest I miss the go next strat. At least killers still won, and players who felt cheated could actually keep playing. But that's just me. I know this is a controversial take. Ill get more dislikes with this logic. But im thinking for the solo players who just wanna play with the least amount of wait times.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

What’s the point here? That anyone else who plays solo queue will have the exact same experience as you?

I play solo queue too. I enjoy it and I escape regularly. Lifetime escape rate is 43%, likely higher recently because I escaped a lot less when I was a newer player (my last 30 days I’ve escaped 23 out of 39 matches). What about the masses of other solo queue players out there? How in the average escape rate 40% if the game is “unplayable” for all of them?

I have no doubt that some survivors struggle with the game (in the matches I lose as solo queue I get some pretty terrible teammates). Every game has a skill curve with very bad players on one end and very good players on the other end. But the stats say that a large portion of solo queue players are able to escape regularly.

    No you dont 🙄

This is the only game I've ever seen where the person can freely admit they wandered the entire map before finding someone in the open (so, what 90 seconds? 2 minutes?), then takes an undetermined amount of time in first chase, then complains that two things that take 90 seconds (and can be done concurrently) are finished in that time.

And the comments are all just "game balance amirite?"

Lethal pursuer alone fixes this. Maybe don't take 3 minutes to get your first down and examine your own gameplay.

It took me 30 seconds to patrol all the gens my guy. Lmao! Where you get 90 seconds?

  • Yes. I was unlucky at the start. it took me a minute or so to find the Dwight, but my point was I knew from the patrol no gens were worked on but his when I found him... and in that time I downed him, and went for my second 2 gens popped. Maybe 60 seconds idk. It wasn't that long. By the time he was hooked and I found the second 3 gens had been done from the time I started the first chase.

Thats crazy fast from my perspective.

I'm starting to think people play low-tier killers so they have an excuse to be douchebags. Like I rarely have fun games with Pig or Hag.

Well I'd like to think im not a douchebag, and i play pig alot. I play her bc its alot of funand I vibe with her power and playstyle. There are a lot of people that prefer weaker killers bc its fun and the power they have is fun. Doesn't make them douchebags.

You should really think before you post stuff man. That was a nasty comment. Lol.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

It really comes down to the massive gap between the top-tier killers and the bottom-tier killers. It’s no shock that survivors complain about seeing the top tier killers so frequently when most of the killer roster is not viable against decent survivor teams that focus on cranking gens out.

Yeah absolutely. I hate it. I like nurse as much as the next guy, but im ADHD when I play killer. I literally bounce around every few matches as a different killer and I have the most lolz with pig, Freddy, Myers, wraith, trapper and billy

I perform better with nurse, pinball monster blight but when I play the top killers I find myself tense and hyper focused to win and it just isn't as fun to me despitegetting 3 to 4k matches.

This Is just proof 4ks doesn't equal fun. I want to see the weaker killers get more longevity in matches so we can focus more on powers and hooks and jumpscares instead of mowing down teams in record speeds to win.

This is a game after all. Lol fun is the number 1 important factor here.

  • Well.... its spoopy season so ima still play him

Who said tunneling wasn't a problem? They delayed the chnages cus they were too extreme and punishing for killers.

This. Its obviously an issue. But how to change it without punishment for the killer is the hard part. For health reasons theres needs to be balance so its a win win on both sides. We're heading in the right direction but I agree that those changes were a bit to harsh.

The distant cage spawns and the overall chaos seem to make people forget to go get people. You've got to hope you have one or two people on the team who've chosen to be the uncagers.

Yes!! I've noticed this, and haveactually almost did this myself since this post. (Been playing all day) so I take this back. 🥶

    Still annoying tho

  • I have to say tho. Without the play while you wait, I'd have never played killer at all. This is what... the 3rd or 4th time we have had this? And ive yet to play killer bc of the wait times. So thats pretty neat

  • Bro, its a 2v8 and im still dying on hook. Lmao! You can't make this crap up. Like... there's 5 people left and im actually dying on my second hook in matches. Its hard to fathom 😅

  • The thing with her is the stealth you get when you drop drones. You can get surprisingly alot of sneak attacks with her still. Especially at gens. But yes claws traps and tags with drones are nerfed into the dirt.

If you play her, youdrop drones b4 searching an area you know survivors are at and sneak up on them. You'll get downs and hits this way. Pair it with aura reading and more stealth perks and you'll have a good time. She can be fun still doing it this way but dont expect 4ks with her.

  • I see alot of killers slugging in groups. I was slugged and watched as two other potatos got downed and slugged. Fun stuff. I love laying on the ground at the mercy of other potatos who care enough to pick me up, amd even if they do, im also at the mercy of 1 or both killers being in the area to just knock me back down again lmao.

Please someone on the design team show me what I'm missing in my thousands of hours of playing survivor. Clearly I'm just bad and can't loop killers on this incredible tile.

The timeframe sure but what he is saying makes since. We dont need new content. We need changes. Why do they have to release a new killer with new perks so quickly? We hardly see half the roster as it is.

the game needs changes. I like the idea of changing perks around every so often to change the meta up. Thats what makes the game fun.

  • I agree they need to stop releasing new content. Lets do fixes, perk changes, and mix ups. We have to much content as it is. Im tired of new killers every 3 months

  • I agree on the most unfun killers for sure. But Billy is insanely fun to play as and against bc he is simpleand has mobility. Those two factors make killers fun imo

Perks are not great I agree, but I think the base concept is fine, they just need some tuning.

    1. Apocaliptic - fregile pallets are just not good, we know that from event… best use is to fake the drop, while tha pallet has massive X and sparks to expose it's limitation.

→ solution 1: 3 stacks are needed to rebuild normal pallet (you can now built pallet on pallet related spawns, not just where pallets been broken)

→ solution 2: 1 stack is needed to build fregile pallet

→ solution 3: remove X and sparks and reveal the pallet to all survivors in yellow aura

    2. Teamwork: concept of help is fine, but the injury requirement and range kinda makes it worse self preservation reverted

→ solution 1: if you take protection hit, all survivors within 24m lose grunts of pain, pools of blood and scrath marks for 20s

    → solution 2: increase range

→ solution 3: works on healthy survivors too

    3. the scream perk - trully don't know why should anyone run it over babysitter and I have idea of making it reverted resurgence.

→ When you unhook survivor they will get instantly healed by 70 %, once they are healed by any means, you scream and your aura is revealed to the killer for 8s

I agree with solution 1. Rebuilding a real pallet instead of a fragile one. At the end of the day, thats not that big of a deal. Only issue i can see balance wise is maybe a god pallet like shack. Either way every DLC character in theory should have 1 strong perk in their loadout. Killers included.

And ideally the killers and survivors strong perk should counter eachother as well to some degree for balance reasons.

  • Ive no reason to. Devs never did anything to me personally.

I am talking the old eulas pretty sure I think companies have to give refunds if they decide to change their eulas randomly.

That is absolutely not a thing. Almost any EULA/ToS looked over by a legal team will always include a clause that the document itself is subject to change. The only legal requirement is that it be presented when it does change, which is why sometimes in games they pop up after a major update that necessitates the player to be informed. Nobody reads them because they get in the way of their dopamine hits, but they're still very legally binding. This isn't even getting into the intricacies of digital rights management, but it might surprise you to know you don't actually own almost anything thats been made in the last decade or two. You only own licenses to access the content, which can be revoked for a lot more reasons than you'd think. But thats another topic entirely.

    As for BHVRs':

    https://deadbydaylight.com/eula/

    https://www.bhvr.com/terms-of-use/

As for finding specific text in there, I'm not going to do your homework for you, and I don't even represent BHVR. If you want to claim that they have no right, dig through it and find your own evidence. Your claim is the one that demands the burden of proof.

There is zero legality to a tos. Look at Nintendo. They got sued so many times over tos stuff. The legal stuff comes from profits from others copyright stuff. Not generally tos

  • Ghoul is fine. Annoying yes. But he's fine.

Both 2v1 and 3v1 situations desperately need to be looked at. This is going to sound unpopular but there needs to be a catch up mechanic for when a survivor dies early to keeps survivors engaged instead of what we have now where the game grinds to a halt and the survivors eventually all die. For me this is the biggest pain point in the game, before it was manageable since you could just die on hook but now that its removed you are forced to stay in the match for several more minutes than before. Complete misery for everyone involved, even as a killer because now if you want an actual interesting match you need to play worse to give the other side a chance.

    This.

Nah. Clearly you didn't read everything. It's not "rage quitting" im concerned about. It's everything else. Keeping in mind no matter what the issues to the individual are, we ALL PAY money to play.

Where did I say anything about rage quitting? Abstaining from games while knowingly having internet issues is another flavor of taking responsibility for your actions.

we ALL PAY money to play.

If you pay for a ticket to Disneyland, then go around stealing stuff from the vendors and cursing at people, do you think your admission price allows you to behave that way? Playing out your matches is part of the code of conduct you agree to when you play the game. I'm sorry if you think your exchange of currency makes the rules not apply to you.

Who are you to say why I go next?

    Where did I?

This is a slippery slope. I get why the devs, and I get what they were thinking when they did this but in the end its messed up to penalty anyone for leaving early. Especially with the increased times and how the timer doesn't start until you try to play another game.

Interesting fallacy to pivot to, but penalizing people for disrupting matches by leaving them early is one of the most universal standards for PVP games on a conceptual level. You should really see how far many games take it so you can realize how lenient this game actually is. Thats why this type of rhetoric falls flat.

It can be a week later and your hit with a 15 to 30 min penalty for something thst wasn't your fault. And even if it was. Who cares? You paid your fair share like everyone else.

You don't hit 15-30 minutes for a single instance. It takes multiple infractions to get to that point, making it your fault. This is, again, why I go back to taking responsibility for your own actions. If you truly have frequent enough internet problems to regularly get a 15+ minute penalty through no fault of your own, then you are not in a position to be able to play the game until said situation is improved. For every time you get disconnected against your will, you are affecting 4 other players experiences that THEY paid for. This is why, again, most PVP games are much more strict about this.

It's not your business why do what I do huh?

I was just poking fun at your hyperbolic misuse of a term.

    @Volcz said:

Yea, the hook changes IMO are the worst. At least for me. I've had so many matches ALREADY where I'm fresh hooked & its clearly over, ya know the drill. 1 other teammate remaining, maybe 2 - 1-3 gens left, the other 2 are on death hook, etc. And yet I can't do anything but sit on hook and wait. I can't sacrifice myself to give the final person a chance at hatch, I can't do anything but sit there and wait for the timer to run out, and usually by that point, the other teammate has been found, went into chase, and has already gone down.

I'm not a d/cer and I've been commended for still trying to play matches out when others have clearly given up…but man.

This absolutely sucks when you rightfully should be able to sacrifice yourself and the game is clearly over. There should be some conditions met, like if its down to you and another teammate, you should be able to sacrifice on hook.

Also Mandy full out lied about the hook changes. Surprise surprise.

Wait what?! Dramatic much?! Lmao! Aside from your dumb Disney world reference where I'm stealing from vendors and causing a scene??? Right? You'd know, its your reference.…..

All im literally saying is… there's a thin line here. We can't tell people who buys the game with money how to play for everyone else. Mostly because people have reasons why they disconnect other than the obvious rage.... im an example today… you can't control people. It's not right to dictate how others trest the games they pay for.

Im sorry... I hate to be thst guy. I really do. But my reasons are jo better than yours. I don't care what you say. In the end... we all PAID. WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO WHAT WE WANT AFTER THE PRICE TAG.

You Might not like it. I might not like it. But it doesn't matter. We all paid. You quit. I quit..irrelevant. devs should reverse penalties bc we are all paying customers in the end.

Nah, you're just virtue signaling for selfish reasons. You're implying its your "God given right" to disconnect with what you said, which is why hyperbole is so good at undermining your own point. Just take responsibility for your own actions.

Nah. Clearly you didn't read everything. It's not "rage quitting" im concerned about. It's everything else. Keeping in mind no matter what the issues to the individual are, we ALL PAY money to play.

  • Best damn time in America to be fair. We wouldn't be where we are as a country without them. Meme aside, I was recently at the national mall and saw the original documents of the bill of rights and it made me feel some type of way.

You should go if you have the time. It's free. And definitely worth the trip.

  • Haha. Lets make fun of the guy who is for the the rights of the everyone and wants fairness and individual rights for all..

ironic really as our forefathers went through the same thing. 😂

  • My bad. When I go to play in the future ill be sure to check the weather report first for the whole day.

  • Doesn't matter what the situation is. We are all paying customers and shouldn't be TOLD how to play a game. Period. Whatever reason someone leaves a game is their own and nobody else's business. Rage quit aside, there are many reasons people have a leave a match.

It's unconstitutional to be forced to behave a certain way. I hate to be thst guy but its facts. We are paying consumers. Who is anyone to say how we play a game we paid for?

TThis feels like Nintendo shutting off switch 2 consoles for people that mod a game after they bought it. It's yours to do as you wish. So long you don't cheat, scam, or cause the seller to lose money bc you are being devious...

  • CCool... bad thunderstorm just made my power blip out for a second and guess what? Another 30 minute ban!

The devs need to stop with this #########! Seriously.

  • Not just that, but players that are having internet issues that get disconnected against their own doing for whatever reasons are getting treated like rage quitters.

I had internet issues and got bumped a few times a few weeks ago and had a 15min penalty. I just quit the game. Came back two weeks later, waited out the timer then.. (which is messed up) just to hit another disconnect for a 30min. I quit and then deleted the game from steam.

It's devious to make the player wait till he hits next game to get the timer. And more so to stay in the game for it to count down.

This will bite them in the end

  • Apparently if your crap att internet cuts off, and you force dc from the game bc of it you also get a penalty.... thats cool....

  • You know what's even more devious about all these harsh DC penalty/forced on hook changes?

The Timer doesn't start until you try to click play on another game.

You think they'd boost them seeing all these new players. Not the opposite.

  • Lmao. I'd be lucky if I escape 2/10 matches. All I play is solo. I know I'm dying. It's ass. I know this going in. I play for points. It's a cold day in hell when I load into a solo and I'm playing with a team that actually touches gens. It's mostly me and maybe one other that will while half the team squats behind rocks.

I had a group of 6 friends who started playing the game with me years ago, and all but myself and one other quit almost immediately because of how overwhelming it was to learn all the perks, killer powers, looping techniques, etc. And that was back between the Legion and Plague chapters. It’s way more overwhelming for new players now. I can’t imagine being a new player now without dedicating your entire life to playing the game for the first few months just to learn everything.

Back in 2017 when I started playing there was way less perks and unique killer powers to learn. It's become so large now I can't imagine someone new playing and not be overwhelmed.

YYou'd Go through 50 matches at least seeing something new for the first time and getting creamed because you don't expect whats happening. I can see why new players don't keep at it.

TThis game takes patience and time. Dying ALOT over and over to finally get to the point where you feel any confidence whatsoever. Unless you really want to love the game I'd say many people stop after dying so fast and so often and just assume this is how it is.... and then quit..

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/449740/this-forced-to-play-is-for-the-birds

If you’re complaining about not being able to go next, then honestly it’s players like you that are the reason the go next prevention system is needed. It’s forcing you to decide if you actually want to be serious about trying instead of just ruining the match for your teammates any time you aren’t having fun. I’m sure this will make some chronic “go nexters” not want to play the game anymore, and that is a very good thing for the health of the game.

Well its not a matter of "just not having fun" thought. Thats the problem. It's not black and white. My example match i described is just one of many bizarre matches where there is no real game happening.

It's Bust games I'm talking about. The go next prevention aims at the players who just rage quit bc they got beat in a chase. Those with poor impulse control. They ruin matches.

Then there's everything else. Matches where killers just slug all match, don't down bc of whatever reason. Survivors that just don't touch gens paired with killers that are slugging or farming.. etc.. etc..

You know what I mean. Any veteran player knows what I mean. Sometimes you just go okay.. you guys have fun I'm going next so I can actually play.

Thats what I mean when I say it isn't working. It's hurting those that are serious about the game more than its helping. Multiple times last night I had to wait out the entire hook stages just to leave.

I wasn't being saved, or I wasn't being picked up off the ground for a long time then put on a hook and had to wait to die on the hook while my team hid in lockers or ran circles around the basement hook being silly.

I understand what anti go next was trying to do. But after what I went through last night I realized this hurts more than rage quitters.

  • @Metagamer said:

You had to wait a truly unbearable 140 seconds because of a specific circumstance that doesn't normally occur so that most matches can go much more smoothly without people giving up on hook instantly.

    This community man.

So.... I should be FORCED to wait the entire time in crap matches? I should be FORCED to wait an entire bleed out timer if everyone isn't down?

I should be told I have to play if I don't want to for whatever reason thats my businessand none of anyone else's dispite me paying to play like everyone else when for years.... we had that option and suddenly its taken from us... and I have no right to be upset about that change after having it since launch?

Here's the thing... when I play a game at the end of the day my own fun matters most. Not a stranger. If you can be gross and play how you want.. (slugging) (camping) (tunneling) th3n why can't I leave when I want? Is that not okay too?

We draw the line there? Despite all the problems everyone has... thats where we say no?

Sorry person who paid for the game. You WILL STAY IN THIS MATCH or else get a penalty even if its on your stomach… or on a hook.... the entire time...

  • This event every year is always ass. How is anyone surprised? Lol any event where either side gets extra abilities will feel overwhelmingly oppressive.

I say this every year. Remote hooking? Yeah let's deny survivors the chance at flashlight saves despite the fact you offer event flashlights lol.

Remote pallets break upon impact so meh....

  • Ive never liked the masquerade event. Looks great but the powers each side gets I've always hated. Insta pallets aren't that big a deal at small loops I guess but blocking pallets mid chase? Nah...

  • ive always hated "tunneling" as survivor i feel cheated. As killer i kinda feel dirty. Even when I choose to do it because its a sweat show, I still feel like... kinda bad for the survivor, and also it's a necessary evil.

The game makes you feel like this
