Super chill time. You only have to do 1/4 of the work, 1/4 of the chases, and you're part of a team. It's just nice and relaxed, and you can use more fun perks. Sure, it's frustrating that you often get the kind of teammates that cannot spare a perk slot for Bond, Kindred or even Empathy, but that is literally out of your control, and if they dont realise that being selfish gets them killed, it's easy to laugh at. Especially if they blow up at the killer in the post game.
-
The stupid thing is that the "meta" survivor perks are actually (for the most part) "lazy" survivor perks. All those second chances wouldn't mean shite if they played well in the first place - something I myself have proved time and time again. And no, I'm not talking about being an amazing looper, I am talking about not blindly running into situations. A little tactical thinking can be a literal lifesaver, and it is far more satisfying than fast vaulting into a locker the moment the killer comes near.
That being said, it is far easier to run DS/UB and be completely mindless, then shame the killer for "tunelling" you. It is easier to run BT and bomb the hook than it is to wait for the opportune moment, preferably whilst repairing a generator. It is easier to DH for distance than it is to make the correct read in the first place.
Edit: I realised after posting this that I come off as a giant prick - so be it. I just had a match where all of my teammates did exactly this. And the best part is that they barely did gens unless their DS was active.
-
And her dash attack. No counterplay whatsoever - you crouch at the loop, and they're dead.
-
The thing about dbd is that it's getting perks that causes the most problems, not items or addons. For survivor, you don't really need BP to get broken items or add-ons - Plunderers/Ace In The Hole is THE WAY to farm. I have so many keys, medkits, styptics, maps, flashlights, BNP, Instaheals, toolboxes, charge add-ons... And the significant majority of them came from those two perks. When I run low, I slap them on, plunder a few chests and replenish my stock. Add on top of that the fact that you only need to get the significant majority of survivors to level 40 and it becomes murky as hell.

It's always easy to 4k against potatoes regardless of the killer you play.
I'm not talking about potatoes. Potatoes don't know how to play windows or rush generators because they know there's about to be no pallets on the map.

Meh. Too vanilla. Too basic. She's a generic do-gooder reporter. I've seen it a hundred times.
-
If you don't have Pop and/or you haven't created a deadzone, you are screwed. Just play as well as you can.

New Bubba requires no mechanical skills?
Didn't know the chainsaw automatically controlled itself perfectly around tight loops (sweep mechanic 1) without touching any corners (requirement to avoid the stun mechanic 2) while timing the charges (mechanic 3) at the right moment which is required in order to get the chainsaw-range (mechanic 4) necessary to catch a survivor brainlessly running in circles.
I never really played bubba before the change. I picked him up in 1 game. Am I the best bubba? No. Am I getting consistent 4k's? Yes. They increased his skill ceiling, sure, but his skill floor also dropped further tham Myers. He's really not so hard a killer.
-
You have confused "no skill" with "basic tactics."
Deathslinger: You have to be a crack shot and know all the little gaps you can shoot through.
Spirit: is only easy if you are playing Soundsiper Spirit with busted add-ons. Otherwise it's a competition between you and your opponent as to who can headscrew the other the best. Just because many people don't even try doesnt mean that spirit is easy: trapper is easy when they give up, they simply give up less.
Pyramid Head: Once again, you have to be an good shot, only now you also need perfect timing. On top of that, he has an insanely high skill ceiling outside of looping, though most people don't care given his antiloop potential.
Demogorgon: I don't know where you are coming from with this one. He's got one of the highest skill floors in DBD.
None of these killers are "low skill". (Well, except Stridor Spirit, but that's is completely different to normal spirit). ACTUAL low skill killers are ones like Myers and Freddy: you learn the basics in a few trials and that's all there really is. Sure, you could master them, but their skill floor is so low that you don't need to. They are just so accessable.
A few more to consider? Bubba, Stabby Ghostface and Stabby Wraith. Again, no mechanical skill and no real tactical knowledge.
-
If by "casuals" you mean people that play DBD for a couple dozen hours and move on to the next game, I agree. If by "casuals" you mean people that would rather chill and have dumb fun than sweat their respective arses off, I disagree. DBD is designed to basically be in the same catagory as Worms or Mario Party. The problem is that, unlike most casual games, it is extremely skill based and takes time to learn the ins and outs. This also means that it is not a very accessible game, which is why it is awful to play when you just start out. I can call upon my own personal experience for that one: I didn't escape a single trial for 2 months, back when I started just after Plague's release.
-
Ranks don't really matter, besides a slightly higher concentration of good players the further you rank. Because of this, people will never again trust the ranking system regardless of whether or not it works. Besides, the Devs already admitted the MMR system doesnt take much into account - it ignores add-ons, for one thing. It's basically Ranks 2.0: The Hidden.
-
The disparity between chase and generator speeds and by extension the basekit randomness that effects them.

Essentially, each prestige increases your chance of getting rarer nodes in the bloodweb as seen in the table.
(All credit goes to the DBD wiki for the table)
Actually, that table was heavily disproven. Several people did individual studies of their own characters and found that you essentially get 1 extra ultra-rare per 50 levels. Some saw no change, others saw an extra purple or green as well.

So survivors shouldn't use the items the game gives them?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1531214#Comment_1531214
Having a key makes you a bad person? Does a Mori make a killer a bad person?
No, and yes. Defend them however you want, they are extremely unfair, screw over you opposition, hand you unfairly free escapes/kills and generally sour the game for almost everyone involved. If you want to keep using your free wins, fine. But admit to what you are doing, at least.
-
It already is a strong perk, it's just not popular because BBQ gives BP and Rancor is similar, albeit much, much weaker.
It could be changed to show all aura's when a generator is completed. That wouldn't really be OP. They could even compensate by nerfing the huge aura reveal after the last gen is completed: If the perk does its job, after all, that will be the last thing you care about. However, I am willing to bet that the Devs love it's NOED synergy.

as a suvivour im not allowed to live or im cheating the killer 🤣🤣🤣
Straw-man for the win.
Doing your objectives and leaving through the exit gates is what survivors are supposed to do. Using a key is literally the easy way out. You can tell yourself whatever you want, it's screwing the killer out of the chance to kill you fair and square.
Also, side note, do you get mad when the killer gives you hatch? They aren't supposed to do that, after all.

That excuse is worn out. Get a new one. Maybe admit you want a free escape.

I wouldn’t describe a killer using a mori as “screwing over” survivors either.
Then I hope you get the ones intended for my trials and I can have some mildly fair matches.

Trying to escape with a key is not screwing the killer over, lmao. Survivors are supposed to try and escape.
Don't complain about mori's, then. But I personally don't like a trial to be artificially shortened, and nor do most people in DbD.
-
Holy shite, the lack of brain activity with this one.
You are complaining about getting sandbagged (what looked like accidentally, too) whilst planning on keying out for a free escape and robbing the killer of a kill before you even load into the match.

how was i screwing someone over? i had a key knew were the hatch was but went back to help someone else when i could of just left
Yeah. You just proved my point.
-
You're complaining about getting screwed over whilst planning on screwing someone over. Bit hypocritical.
-
Should I point out the key...?
-
It depends on the time you play, and probably also your MMR score. I get pretty instant games as most kilelrs in the evening, but if I play during the day it's a half hour wait. Survivor is almost always 5-10 minutes no matter the time.
-
The worst part is that a lot of genuinely toxic survivors know and abuse this. On occasion, I have had a hook deadzone in the map, usually a corner, into which the survivors run and essentially try to hold the game hostage. However, since I can technically slug them til bleed-out, it is not actually using the game hostage.
Normally, I'm not such a big 4k guy. I'll give hatch. I'll give gate. I'll commit to a pointless chase to let the last gen go. But if someone is that kind of toxic, I'm just gonna ruin their night while I go make myself a snack.
-
Honestly, waking up isn't that big a deal. Sure, if the clock is there or if you know you can safely fail the skillcheck and still get the gen done, go for it. You won't have to worry about snares for a minute. Other than that, there's little point, and even in that situation it's usually not that useful, since you'll have 10-20 seconds of awake-chase and then you'll fall asleep again.
-
Let me put it this way: the way you feel going against sweaty survivors as Myers or Pig is the way the majority of your opponents feel going against you.
Call it as balanced as you want, nothing will ever change the fact you are perpetuating the genrush mentality by leaving no other option.
-
Because most of the time they don't have a chase, so they may as well go for the person about to sit on a gen. And, most of the time, they're still very close to the person who used Deliverence because of itchy trigger fingers.

Funny because Pop has a 60 second CD and so does DS.
POP gets activated by hooking a survivor and DS activates by being unhooked.
Invincibility? How so? Can't you slug? Can't you go for someone else? Why are you bitching about ONE survivor out of 4?
I don't understand your complaint.
I'm guessing that you are not the kind of person that abuses DS for free gen time, heals or unhooks, nor the kind that vaults into a locker and/or equips Unbreakable to take away the 1 piece of non-counterplay that DS has besides eating it and letting them have their free escape so they cannot use it later.
Props to you. But that's not how the majority of DS's in my games go, as killer or survivor.
-
Father Campbell's Chapel. Mobility isn't an issue, loops are good, the main building is solid, it's not a stealthfest, and it's a nice overall design.
-
The most unbalanced thing in DBD is the disparity between chase and generator speeds, and the tools and RNG each side can use to lenghten/shorten the chases. Literally every other issue is a part of this giant, overarching, core gameplay mechanic.
The strongest killers have the shortest average chases. The strongest add-ons shorten the chases. The strongest items lengthen the chases. The strongest survivor perks lengthen the chases. The strongest killer perks lengthen the generator times. The strongest items shorten generator times.
3 things in particular effect this more than anything else: Map RNG, survivor perks, and killer strength. In most evenly matched games, 4 DS/UB is an automatic win. In most games, Nurse is an automatic win. The majority of exceptions: when the map RNG is extremely unfavourable.
The reverse is also true. Weak killers and moronic survivors can easily win what should have been a lost game, all thanks to extremely favourable RNG.

Wait, I'm relatively new to this game (started playing earlier this year) and you say that pallets dont have medium vaults? Does that mean that even if you come at a pallet at a poor angle and fast vault it, you won't have the same issue as getting a medium vault on a window?
Exactly. You just stand there and hold shift, and you get a fast vault because BHVR reasons.
-
Oni's duration is 45 seconds. And Myers is a dangerous killer to buff given how easy he is. No-one wants another Freddy situation.
That being said, giving everyone unlimited evil, while sounding innocent, can potentially lead to some pretty toxic interactions of the sandbagging variety. Someone feeding Oni would have to constantly fast vault pallets and would have to be doing it with extreme intention. There's a lot of players that are easy stalks and will absolutely feed Myers unintentionally.
-
Clown is one of the weakest killers in the game, simply because you can just drop pallets early and play safe. He has no mobility, no lethality and a terrible power that needs a long reload time.
Seriously, I cannot stress this enough: just drop the pallet. Don't try to loop it when it's up, that's how he gets you the easiest. His gas forces you to medium vault through windows, but pallets don't have a medium vault, so you can just sit next to it and fast vault away when he gets close. Add onto that the fact that you can just hold W and run in a straight line away from him and he's pretty screwed.
-
Yes and no. PC players have the option to just turn down our graphics, which is exactly what I did, and suddenly we get smooth frames again (for the most part). I also had some issues with the Midchapter lagging out my machine, but it doesn't seem to be as bad as console.

Actually not anymore, now it just explodes when you try that, idk when they fixed it.
If it does that, it's bugged or they missed the check. The Devs literally said it is an intentional design feature to allow survivors to make the check after tapping and running away, but that Overcharge is the anti-tapping perk. Go figure.
-
Yeah, they fixed this issue a while ago, but for whatever reason it recently got brought back and suddenly everyone on low graphics can see the red stain. Bit of an oversight.

Well, like I said, if SWFs aren't such an issue, it wouldn't hurt to let everybody know they are going against SWF.
And if everybody is going to dodge SWF, then SWF is an issue that needs to be addressed.
Please explain how they can address SWF whilst not losing a significant portion of their revenue and inkeepong with their "no knee-jerk" policy.
Actually, it's mostly just that 1 policy that is... Not killing, but throttling the game. They like to make decisions and changes nice and slow because they are scared. Take the Ruin nerf: any moron could have said that something needed to be done about gen speeds AT THE SAME TIME. Nothing was done and the already quick killer ques became literally instant for a solid few months. They are dedicated to this policy. That, and the stats, seem to be their golden idols. So they are essentially forced to work within these parameters.
Which means than any suggestion for balancing out SWF without potentially killing the game needs to be simple. Is it paradoxical? Yes. But those are the rules they follow, so keep that in mind.

So it always stays 15% increase? Not dependent on the amount of survivors?
Yes it is dependant on the number of survivors, no it doesn't make you faster the more survivors you're working with. It just eliminates the slowdown. It's poorly worded: the additional 15% speed per survivor simply negates the baseline 15% slowdown per survivor.
-
It is literally mindless. In order to be evil, you would have to be self-aware enough to make the decision to be selfish. It cannot.
-
He fills the quintessential "Brute Force" horror cliche. You can't fight it, you can't run from it. It is coming for you, and you are powerless.
There's more to "flashy" horror than slasher films.
-
3) "Missed" attacks.
Can't mention Plague's bugs without that glaring gem.
-
Trapper. By far, Trapper. The game has moved past him so much. His power takes way too long to set up, in a game where an early snowball is required. He is easily the most map-dependant killer in the game, and he had an extra layer of map dependency: Trap spawns.
He is just the worst mix of every bad trait that killer have. No mobility, too much setup, no perk synergy, map dependency, survivor skill dependency, perk weakness, and even good old SWF call outs. Trapper is easily the most unbalanced killer in DBD: he is the reverse of the current meta.
-
I'm sorry, but they could remove the skillcheck and nothing would change. It is such a non-factor of that perk. At least then people wouldn't be able to hide behind "BuT tHeReS a SkIlLcHeCk'
-
I just had a match of Executioner in Dead Dawg, immediately found a glitch where if you get stunned whilst planting your sword you are forced to stay as a 110 killer, and 4k5genned. I honestly had to apologise. I know they did not have fun.
-
I got bodyblocked by a Billy who let me finish the gen (it was about 3 seconds away) while he revved his saw, but I DH'd out of the way at just the right moment, made it to the pallet, did 2 loop and accidentally dropped it in my own face, so naturally I t-bagged to assert dominance and he just started at my dumb arse for a solid minute, left me alone and gave me hatch later.

Spirit with 4 Hex totems. It's such a power trip. My favourite one of these builds is Haunted Grounds, Ruin, Devour Hope and Thrill of The Hunt.
