I will complain everything that I want. Soon enough you will end up with no people to play. Because and more and more people in console are disabling cross play. You are probably one of the hackers in PC who loves the whole advantage that you have against console.
This. What an entitled baby. Do you ACTUALLY think that everyone on PC is a hacker? Do you REALLY think the game is dying and that console players are here to save the day? On Steam alone the game has been doing better than ever over the last 6 months. A year ago the community on PC alone was half the size. Maybe you should get a little perspective and ASK PC players what they normally deal with instead of making assumptions to justify your entitlement. And, just so you know, I go against a hacker once every two or three months, and I'm on the ultra common end of it. Most people haven't come across any in their entire years of playing.

MMR isn't affecting matchmaking, but I am absolutely willing to bet that it is still gathering data in the background for its rerelease.

"Some of us get our kicks seeing just how hard we can fuNk with the Killer and waste their time entirely." - One of the reasons survivors get tunneled.
"It's a legitimate part of the game. Stop acting like it's not." - So is tunneling stealthy survivors.
Congratulations on making the case for Killers to tunnel survivors in your anti-tunnel post.
And no-one even mentioned using cosmetics to gain an advantage whilst they were justifying tunelling. Impressive.

The counter to Spirit, as with every killer, is to do gens. Maybe if people actually did this then the Devs would actually fix the design.

Really awful less than 5% of the time....
Actually, that data is false. I have no idea where the Devs pulled it from, but in reality the number of SWF teams you go against is determined by the time of day you play. And since I am on PC, I can very easily check their friends lists. In the last few months, I have discovered that between the hours of 9pm and 1am, almost every individual team has at least a 2-person SWF. Most have 3-4 people in a party. And, since they have access to comms, they aren't afraid or disorganised and absolutely slam the generators. While I do not blame them for this, it is absolutely stupid game design and needs to be rectified, instead of attempting to cover it over with flasified data the Devs even contradicted themselves with (I believe they said that somewhere around 70% of players at red ranks were SWF).

T3 Myers is just a normal killer with a barely perceptible increase to lunge and vault.

What killers do you play?
Also when the current Destiny 2 event finishes, I'll be streaming a bit so you can always stop by and see what I mean with everything.
Plague, Oni, Ghostface, Deathslinger, Pig, and Legion. Honestly, I play everyone a fair bit, but they're the ones I've been leaning towards more recently. And yeah, stronger killers like Oni and Deathslinger can absolutely power through, but I still get Legion/Pig/ value just by virtue of them no longer having protection and being forced to play safe.
Though I do get DS'd/other-second-chanced less as Pig given the fact that I rarely hook trapped survivors and I use her stealth more than I should, but that's sort of like saying I get less BT/DS/Deliverence as PH.

I agree that the second chance meta is absolutely abysmal and the only perk of those that I run is DS just to deal with TRUE tunnellers. If it were up to me, I'd be running Resilience instead.
My hope is purely so that a few more people start doing this, then either the meta shifts or killers receive some buffs.
To me campers, tunnellers and sluggers brought on this meta and contribute to the overall issue of killer power. Now, I should also say the usual NOT ALL before someone jumps down my throat to put words in there again. I slug occasionally, but tactically, so I call out people who slug 4 people as being terrible at the game.
Not getting into an argument about who's right, but I will say that rather than calling for changes to the game, I'm attempting to get the community to adapt and actually try alternatives first.
I've tried the alternatives. I've tried playing around second chance perks. At the end of they day, they're too easy to force. Maybe I'm just unlucky, maybe it's just my region, or the time of day I play, but in general the only thing that has ever really worked for me is to force them all as early as I can, because if I play around them my loss is almost guaranteed. Still, I hope that maybe this will change, or even better that it's just me and I somehow mistranslate all the advice I get on playing around them.
-
Easy to say, difficult to do. There's not a whole lot to be learned from 4 minute gens, and even less from the second-chance squads with 0 skill and 16 second chances. In an amusing twist of fate, the only SWF squads I learn from are the ones that waste time BMing.
Not every SWF is toxic, or unfun to deal with. But that doesn't mean that the ones that are awful to verse aren't REALLY awful.
-
The colour of a perk indicates it's rarity in the bloodweb. Personally, given the absolutely insane amount of perks in the game, I don't even think that perks should have 3 tiers. It makes the game super inaccessible.
-
Well, prestiging is worthless in terms of rewards and gameplay (except broken skins *coughblendettecough*) so do whomever you feel looks best with their prestige skin.

Aaaaaaand in a cruel, ironic twist, I actually do really well for myself as a killer constantly getting Ruthless and Merciless killer results.
Like I said. I have proven it to work even in rainbow matchmaking.
I, too, go up against a lot of potatoes that have somehow achieved red ranks. Like it or not, you "naturally avoiding" the problem doesn't really work when it's shoved in your face. At least, that has been my experience, and the experience of most killers. And that's without even mentioning the whole concept of perk abuse.
And the truly tragic thing is the sheer amount of value that I, as a survivor, get out of perks I don't have. The number of times I have jumped in a locker and been left alone, or even better camped, or been slugged after touching a gen is insane. That's how I know these perks are problematic. I have singlehandedly won games against otherwise skilled killers because they didn't want to call my bluffs. The second chance meta is awful.
-
What you have basically described is the perfect way to consistently lose, and the perfect excuse for second-chance abusers. Like it or not, there is nothing okay about hook bombing, doing gens, or healing in the action with multiple layers of protection. There is nothing okay with jumping into lockers to avoid getting slugged. There is nothing okay withplaying completely mindlessly and still "winning" because you used 12 out of 16 second chances.
And I cannot recommend ignoring gens enough. If that's your playstyle, fine, but you will lose more than you win unless you are stacking regression on game slowdown on gen control, which is a huge, seperate problem in DbD.
You can pretend to avoid second chance perks as much as you want, but at the end of the day that doesn't mean they aren't getting huge value in your games, and it doesn't mean that they are in any way okay in their current state and stackability. Someone doesn't have to stab you in the shoulder to get huge DS value.
-
DBD gets way better when you let go of winning, especially survivor since it's not even up to you. You can carry the team as much as you want, but it's physically impossible to do the job of 2 survivors
-
Waiting out Corrupt is the reason I almost never use it. Somehow, with extreme irony, Ruin or Pop is more consistent.

i mean i did but still doesnt change what i said so i mean, your point? also about your data, sorry its flat out Wrong. you take the pool of kills to loses over the games lifes spane suriviors live more then they die FACT now you can say in brown ranks thats not the case but im not talking brown or this update or last im talking the game as a whole across the broad sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
your wrong sorry...
But if I'm wrong then the data is 100% accurate, no exceptions, the game is killer sided and gen speeds are fine.
Read. The damn. Post.

I don't think that it's ever going to get reworked. There's the cheap-out excuses of "it's good against stealthy players" (no, it's not, because you're brain-dead if you go I to your power without seeing a survivor) and "it's negative information", which, once again, you aren't going to go into your power just to slam the ground and narrow down the area the survivors could be in. This add-on could literally be base kit and I still would never get a use out of it.
-
You're not supposed to loop a hag. That's how she wins.

well yes but that just Proves my point Fether the match making is its own topic all by it self but it is a big reason that its so unfair for both sides. how ever Befor they think about adding a new killer or a new Cos. they should be asking them selfs. "is this the way i would want my game to be?" and if they answer yes to that. that would be like me saying i think its 100% fair to have perks in the game that Feeds wins too Players for no other reason besides the perks Exists and theres no downsides into using it. see if i said that about killers that it should be fair to have perks like that for killers ho boy its like i just Poored gas on a fire. with how much flaming i would get for saying that. but if i say that for Suriviors everyone will act like im a hero. I can fully understand how people make the bold claim that this game is Any amount of Fair.
look up "Fair" and tell me if that describes Dead by daylight to you.
You really didn't read my post, did you.
-
I wish. That's the 1% of the 1% of PC players right there.
-
Hex perks just aren't worth it. The Devs refuse to rework them entirely because they like Devour Hope, or at least that's the impression they give. And even on maps where the totems can be well hidden, there's always a couple of spots that are glaringly obvious, because the like the idea of "high-risk, high-reward" but don't seem to understand the concept.
-
Actually, the stats say that killers kill way more than survivors escape. Of course, what they don't take into account is the fact that the moronic ranking system filled high ranks with potatoes that basically force 4k's on their entire team, or the fact that even Nurse can be beaten by doing the generators.

@EmpireWinner said:
Gen rushing does not exist, next.
Then how would you describe a team with BNP's, toolboxes, Resiliance, Prove Thyself? Gen efficiencers?
-
The problem is that looping is not an advertised part of the game. If they are going to introduce new players to the concept, it had better be in the trailer and game description. But, even though its balanced around looping (it's not balanced around stealth, stealth is either ridiculously OP or ridiculously inadequate) the marketing still pretends the game is a hide-and-seek sim.
So imagine how many new players will load in to the tutorial and find out that they were lied to. At least give them a couple dozen hours with other new players before they realise that looping is the core of DBD.
-
Bill. BT makes people brain-dead. As in COMPLETELY brain-dead. I always see it called an anti-facecamp perk, but TBH I only ever see it used to farm and bodyblock post-farm. And Unbreakable is just Unbreakable, it's not abusable since it can only do what it says it does, but in the current meta it's absolutely moronic. It's description might as well read "Punish the killer for not going for 12 hooks in a game where they can only squeeze in 6!"
Plus, Left Behind turns an already unfair situation more unfair. It's not OP, but it is icing on the GFYS cake.
-
I believe that the Dev team themselves cannot decide whether or not it is an anti tunnel perk - as proved by Scott Jund, a certain infamous post completely contradicted an earlier post that talked about DS being anti-tunnel.

Killers don't get hit with DS if they don't tunnel so I don't wanna hear that bs argument. No one accidentally gets hit with DS. And if you do, boohoo, eat it and move on. 90% of the time a killer will still chase the guy that DSed him until he's down and dead so he'll still get tunneled. It just gives the survivor an extra chance to escape and earn more bloodpoints. Crying that survivors get "second chance meta bandaid" perks is so stupid in my opinion. If a vast amount of killers didn't play that way, these perks wouldn't be needed and they'd be useless.
Holy shite, the entitlement. You are the perfect example of why this game is awful. You think "tunelling" is touching a survivor within 1minute of them being unhooked, don't you? Who'se full of BS now?
Get perspective. And honestly, git gud. I never run their perks and I do better than most because I'm not a skilless, tactless hack. Oh, and newsflash: most killers neither camp nor tunnel. You are simply one of those that assume using a perk means that they did.
I repeat myself: Get perspective.
-
Those look like the OG offerings from way back in the day. I didn't even know that this was available on console. Everything that effects brightness was disabled so the Devs could have more control over lighting, and the others look like the old map offerings that were phased out (but not disabled, I don't think).
-
Yeah, ######### the people that can't afford good PC's. They don't deserve to play the game. They should just turn it off and stare at a wall.
-
Half of it is memeing, the other half are mad about her doubly unfair rng
-
Plague. If you want to avoid OP killers, avoid Freddy. Strong AF and super easy to boot, he is. Plus, all of Plagues teachables are good, and if you but the DLC you get Jane...
-
I've gone against speedhacks, instaheal hacks, insawiggles, instagens, VPNing, multiperk, no exhaustion, hidden debuffs and even straight up no clipping.
But that scared the shite out of me.
-
The best part is the Dev insistence that the hit cone doesnt have any effect on hits. I think about that every time I see a compilation of "missed" hits because the first thing in the attack cone was 3 pixels of wall before the entire survivor's hitbox.
-
It was a thing well before EGC. People have forgotten that almost every survivor already 99'd the gates to avoid Bloodwarden.

Yeah that's kind of the point. Survivors need some way to counter those types of play styles. People run DS because they get tunneled. It's supposed to help survivors in that situation.
And yet it has been well documented to both be completly inadequate and extremely abusable, given that an actually tunelling killer will just keep on chasing you, and a killer that wasn't tunelling gets stunned because someone equipped a perk.
Bandaids fixes don't help. The second-chance meta coupled with continual camp/tunnel complaints proves that. Adding more ways of "fighting back" without addressing the already existing problematic bandaids will just make survivor ques even longer.
-
It's quite amusing that there is a much larger number of posts , discussions and comments about PC players being douchebags than there are from douchebag PC players.
-
Is anything going to be done about second chance perks? I know, it seems I'm doing some whattaboutism, but most of those perks are bandaid fixes to camping and tunelling.
-
I would assume that MMR is still running in the background, gathering data. That's honestly quite likely what the Devs "fix" will be - let it actually have a month or two to gather MMR scores before rereleasing it.
-
Just to clarify, did your teammates have BT and could you hear the heartbeat?
I would also point out that getting hooked 3 times in 3 minutes has nothing to do with camping and/or tunelling. That's pretty normal given the current game speeds.
-
Neither. If I want to have chill, easy games, survivor. If I don't want to rely on my team, killer. If I'm going against too many SWF's, survivor. If I want to get bloodpoints, killer.
-
Honestly, I've found that console players actually do gens way more than anything but pc SWFs. And it's not fun, I don't like it. I cannot play any killer with even a semblance of m1 gameplay, not even the dreaded Freddy. Gens are just too quick unless I'm laying down the punishment with quick chases and snowballs. That's not even to say that I win more, I simply have longer, more enjoyable games.
-
There's only a few that are ridiculously OP, and even then there's some purples that are way stronger. For the most they are more meme add-ons than useful ones. But, in general, if the killer brings strong add-ons... You should have brought strong items. Yeah, dumb, but that's the ethos of second chance perks as well.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Because the complaints are not reasonable. Its Killers playstyles which make Perks like DS necessary. Whenever I get my DS to use, the Killer went straight after me after Unhooking (some "interesting" guy also once told me that I was baiting DS by running away from the Hook when he came back...).
Same with Unbreakable or better the "small PP Build": Stuff like DS is used with the hope to never have to use it. I rarely get hit by DS, so I can only assume that other players who claim about getting hit by it on a regular basis despite "not tunneling" are indeed tunneling.
However, I would be totally fine to turn DS into a Anti-Tunnel Perk, as long as it is a big middlefinger for the Killer when he decides to tunnel me down.
How are the comaints about DS not reasonable? How is it okay for someone to get free gen time? How is it okay for someone to get free unhooks? How is it okay for someone to jump in a locker instead of looping? How is it okay that the "counterplay" isn't even counterplay - and has perks that completely undo it? And, and this is the real kicker, how is it okay to assume the killer tunelled you because you got to activate that sweet, sweet skillcheck?

Springtrap is actually a mass child killer. It could work wonders if they implemented him CORRECTLY. Think of it as a Freddy Kreuger type.
Springtrap is a jumpscare animatronic. Freddy Krueger is a slasher ghost. And the whole backstory for Springtrap is so obscure and such a tiny part of the games that most people that played them don't even know it. You won't get much draw for it.
And, once again, it's an animatronic.

Demogorgon and pyramid head say hi
Yeah, no shite. But at least they slightly fit the game, given that they are both supernatural slashers.
-
It's called the "small pp build" because people that run it are clearly compensating for something. In this case it's a lack of skill and not genetalia dimensions, though the euphemism is still amusing.
-
MMR is probably never going to work. I honestly don't see a world in which I don't have 4-minute gens if I make 1 tiny mistake and/or patrol the wrong direction at the beginning of the match. Its just not going to happen. Doesnt matter how skilled, or lack thereof, I am. On the flip side, I don't know how long it will take before I don't get killers that, for example, try to loop as Demo whilst holding his lunge.
-
I don't enjoy the "challenge" of going against efficient survivors. Challenge would imply that there is something to overcome. The maths show that majority escape is inevitable.
If matches were longer and shifted back and forth between each side, then yeah, I'd like it. But trials have been getting progressively shorter to the point that this is basically not the game I bought. It's like if R6 Seige suddenly had 1 round limits, or a battle royal that began in the second-smallest map state. I don't have fun playing half a match at breakneck speed, and I especially don't have fun if I'm clearly better than them but they are ouperking me and instadropping pallets. If you fall for every basic mindgame, you don't deserve to escape. I'm sorry, but there it is.
