Yeah I have noticed when loading into a match their faces often look extremely deformed lol

Spirit without a doubt

Windows is a great perk, I have used it for years and was surprised more people didn't seem to see the value in being able to tell if a loop still has a pallet or not.
In the past my must have perks were Iron Will and BT but IW is next to useless and BT feels like it has less value now that BT is base kit. I really miss Iron Will though, there were so many cheeky plays you could try with old IW and I still miss that perk :(
-
I am getting pretty sick of him myself, I get that he is new so people tend to want to try the new killer but I have had him back to back to back at times and it does start to get very old very fast. I don't know what the solution is since there is no way to dodge and I guess this is at least one of the many reasons team mates kill themselves first hook
-
I am surprised this wasn't Huntress lol
Which is why I am not a fan of Huntress in DBD - with latency issues and hitboxes for hatchets that seem to be the size of a fridge, BS hits are pretty standard
-
With Nurse as my main killer I can honestly say I have NEVER used Starstruck on her, I feel this is just excessive and unnecessary and makes Nurse incredibly unfun in public matches. I only use range when I am also running Matchbox (so only 1 blink) and I send myself to Lery's to make things even harder as I find it fun.
Nurse can be fun imo but equipping her with certain perks and/or camping and tunnelling off hook are unnecessary and give her a worse name than she already has. Startstruck should NOT work off basic attacks for Nurse imo
-
Not really but mainly because I see him so often it is getting really old now. That being said, I would take Wesker back to back all night rather that face a single Twins, Pinhead or Trickster...
But any killer back to back to back gets old fast

4:3 Monitors are still being made, in the forms of 2560x1440, and 1920x1440. They are still used to a degree, just not popular with gaming. So I wouldn't call it obsolete tech.
Well either way, I would guarantee the chances of them putting in 4:3 aspect support now is pretty much zero. Besides the niche factor, it also opens up the potential for abusing FOV with stretch and I doubt they want to open up that can of worms again just to accommodate an extreme niche minority of the player base

BHVR has made changes catered to small minorities that play this game before. Fog Whisperers, Old Gen Console Players, Switch Players, Streamers, Colorblind players.
But people with disabilities or ambassadors for the game are a bit different than obsolete tech that is not and likely never will be made again. Old school consoles will likely get shut out eventually too, especially if the game migrates to a new engine (UE5) if it still exists in a few years. They cannot cater to every niche minority in all fairness to them
-
Why would they? Almost nobody plays at obsolete resolutions now and I would imagine there is little to no motivation to accommodate an extreme minority. They still don't have proper ultrawide support despite them being a lot more common these days... (FOV advantages arguments aside).

I have been playing a bit again after not playing at all for some time and yeah I am finding survivor more enjoyable. Firstly the queue times are far improved due to the incentives and the fact more people seem to want to play killer these days. Secondly the old stale perk meta has gone, so there is now more reason than ever to try playing around with all kinds of perks that I never used to use as the meta perks were just too strong to not take them.
Though I will say, as a former Nurse main even I am getting sick of facing Nurse and especially with the oppressive builds that seem to be popular now (people have no shame anymore). But otherwise survivor isn't as bad as many make out and I think they just want the easy survivor sided games that were the norm for so long.
-
I think it is a good idea, it still takes 45 seconds to actually get up and it will avoid a lot of those situations where the killer slugs for the 4k (which I understand due to the hatch) and you spend minutes on the floor while they search for the other guy. I totally understand why killers slug for pressure etc but at least this will reduce the potential length of time you can be slugged as being slugged is annoying and not at all fun
-
I have a friend who is P100, the only one on this character so far
-
I have never been a big fan either, as others have said the hitboxes and the janky server hit registration make a ranged killer like this frustrating at times. Though her slow movement can be exploited to give her a miserable time, she is one of the OG killers I enjoy less than others
-
Wow... the idea that Otz should just shut up and accept this treatment because he is very successful is just an appalling sentiment. No wonder I rarely play DBD now, the attitude of many who play this game is really awful and it often ruined my day.
-
Myers... I just really like his design even if it is very simple. But playing him is often just painful as he just takes too long to get momentum and you lose gens too fast. I enjoy going against him though but often end up just feeling bad and relating to the player as the outcome is usually the same

Obviously it has to be taken into account but when it’s a case of 1 of the 29 killers being too strong with a bunch of perks I think it’s time to evaluate that 1 killer as opposed to the perks
For the record, it does appear that at the very least Nurses add ons need to be looked at either way.
I used to main her but I have not played killer since before her big bug fix and I rarely play DBD now either. Though I saw a vid Hens333 made highlighting the issues with Nurse now and it seems her bug fix buffed her and made her far easier to play than she used to be. I still watch some DBD streamers and I see every second match is Nurse on some days... so I can understand people are getting tired of it.
The strongest and weakest killers will always influence perks to some extent too... just like SWF vs solo will
-
But this would be the case with the strongest killer regardless, maybe not for this perk but they will always have to take into account the impact any change will have on the strongest and weakest for that matter...
-
Trickster is by far the killer I find the most obnoxious as far as their power goes. Twins and Pinhead are not far behind...

If that’s true, I would love to see your gameplay, but I have doubts that you’re capable of destroying a well put together team with only 2 days as nurse. Yea, I can easily 4k a team of casual survivors who don’t know better, but the same is not for seasoned survivors.
Totally agree. It took me HUNDREDS of hours to get very good with her and I will would not consider myself a god tier Nurse. Sure, I can stomp most solo lobbies and can beat your average team with not too much sweat. But the fact is most survivors are bad and when I face the rare decent ones it is far from easy.
The fact is most survivors have no clue how to play against her beyond predictably doing the same 2 jukes every time, or they just give up on first hook.
-
As already said, 'fun' is subjective and I found the game more fun than it has been in a long time. The stale meta of killer bullying simulator was long past its use by date imo.
Sure some adjustments will need to be made and things will always evolve but this patch was a big step in the right direction imo
-
Or even just proper ultrawide support would be great...
-
Once the survivors crying get withdrawals they will be back...
This was one of the best patches, if not the best patch ever. Of course players will need to adapt and some adjustments will need to be made but as a survivor main who rarely plays now I was pleasantly surprised.
Even then I was personally very sad to see my beloved Iron Will all but destroyed but oh well, more excuses to use other perks now

I hope I didn't come across as a BHVR basher, I'm also quite positively surprised at the direction BHVR took in this patch. I'm just pointing out that, with the nerfs to perks that were actually healthy and promoted good gameplay, it was a sort of "two steps forward, one step back" sort of deal and I fear BHVR might give in to the whining and go back on the good changes.
Nah I didn't take it as BHVR bashing, I do get your point but I think this patch needed to happen and I doubt the will revert it all as many changes have been necessary for a long time. But I would expect refinements though I very much doubt they will be making any big changes in any hurry (this is a good thing).
-
Patch was good, when you remove crutches and a bias that makes one side far too strong, the side losing their advantage will have complainers. I say that as a survivor main too (by hours played per role), the game was far too survivor sided.
Sure there will likely need to be adjustments made here and there but overall I was pleasantly surprised with BHVR, in all honesty I have little love for BHVR but credit where credit is due
-
I guess they have to walk the fine line of penalising DC's but not so much that people just stop playing. While there will always be people who DC for whatever reason, looking at underlying reasons a unusually high number of players are quitting will help when it gets out of control.
I am sure they are doing just that btw

Ive been having more fun playing survivor than ever, especially with shorter queue times so its a big win from me, if it wasnt for bad survivors dcing and killing themselves on first hook itd be even better. I dont even have to care on the rate occasion i get camped or tunnelled out because the next game is only seconds away
Yeah the queue times are insanely good for survivor now, big change from before the patch
-
I rarely play these days but came back to try out a few games after the big patch I saw they released.
I actually had more fun than I had had in a long time, I like how they finally dealt with broken stuff like DH so the old stale survivor meta is now pretty much dead. It made me play around with perks/builds that I had no motivation to use since the usual meta was just a no brainer to not use.
The first games were rough though, ngl but after adapting I had fun. Though I doubt I will ever grind away as many hours as I did in the past...

AA actually makes games less optimized to “look better” so in any case forcing it on console is a bad idea and should be an option to chage in both PC and console
Yes I do understand what anti aliasing is but the point I was making is that they should have more options for PC rather than console. Since consoles all have identical hardware so they can optimise for everyone, unlike PC
-
Shame for you, I am actually getting much smoother performance than I was a few months back before I stopped playing. RPD in particular was a LOT better with a consistent 120fps rather than the big drops I was getting. Having AA on definitely wont help weaker PC's though

How do we still not have basic 2012 QoL options in a 6 year old game in 2022?
That lack of graphical options on PC is a bit of a shocker I must say. I can understand them wanting to keep it running as optimal as possible on consoles but on PC it is a bit disappointing
-
Of course, you can't ever truly balance an asymmetrical game by its inherent nature. But you can do a lot to make it as balanced as humanly possible but perks and addons complicate that, as does an ever shifting meta.

Not true. I play the game 2-3 times a week when the Rift is not available and today the penalty time on the first dc was 15 minutes
I am not advocating it, nor am I proud of it or promoting it as such but I admit I DC on certain matches and the penalty is definitely not 15 minutes for the first time. Sometimes there seems to be none, then 5 minutes next time, then 15 and so on but if I am having that bad a time I usually just go and play something else at that point.
But either way, your first DC will not be 15 minutes

The Patch Optimizations is a 2 part process. Part 1 was increasing file compression, this only affected steam. Part 2 was restructuring the chunks of the game for faster patching. They were seperate updates and this is part 2.
Yes I saw Mandy's comment which made that clear

Oh ffs... utterly ridiculous

People complain about Nurse bc shes game braeking it has nothing to do with how good or bad they are at survivor. It gets progressively worse the better the Nurse player is so im assuming you havent went against really strong Nurse players bc i feel like you wouldnt be saying these things at all.
Lol... I have over 2.5k hours in the game and have played against many great Nurses, including back when 5 blinks and no recharge was a thing. In fact I started to learn her myself before she got nerfed and with learning her myself I learned what plays counter Nurse and her weaknesses.
Trouble with many survivors is they make statements like 'game breaking' then try to loop a Nurse or their counter-plays consist of doubling back on every corner and DH. Then they no doubt head to forums to complain instead of actually learning how to counter her.
The vast majority of Nurse players are average to outright terrible with her. God tier Nurses can be rough but I very rarely face them and when I do I respect their skill, as getting really good with Nurse takes a lot of misery and bullying from survivors
-
They fixed the issue with slow updates in a recent patch, so no point downloading it again

They'll get two almost guaranteed.
Depending on the perk set-ups they could get three.
Also, that assumes you can communicate with your team.
Maybe, it depends how you play it.
But I have played with solos who understand what is happening and do rush the gens and we get out. Though I do acknowledge that probably more often than not team mates are stupid and hand them a free kill, or they get caught with the inevitable NOED at the end.
-
Honestly this all sounds like noob stuff and a fair bit of entitlement.
If you DC take the penalty you earned, I accept that if I DC I will have a timeout and don't blame the game as I understand why they do it (not encouraging it mods!).
Also, what is considered 'fair' is extremely subjective in DBD and for survivors it often borders on absurd and I say that as a survivor main myself.

In the games I took stats for, facecamping Bubba's were much more prominent than normal Bubba's
Well that may well be the case but either way, the solution is still the same; do gens fast, leave them to their one kill and get out. Rewarding them by rushing hooks and giving them free kills just encourages that. You can't do much if some loser is happy to stand in one spot for a top tier gaming experience
-
I stopped playing for ages but recently have been playing matches since they tweaked SBMM and it has been a lot more fun imo. I actually like to have random levels of skill in teams as it makes it more interesting than rolling baby killers every match. If you were escaping all the time previously then clearly something was not right there
-
There is something that can be done - do gens, leave him to his one kill and then get out.
Unfortunately you are always going to encounter the random moron who plays like this and while the spoil the match for the poor sucker on the hook, they also can't be having much fun standing in the same spot for most of the match.
I have never seen the same Bubba player I saw face camping someone out of the game a year ago still doing the same thing. They all bore of it eventually and end up wanting to actually play the game from what I can tell. So punish this play style but doing gens and getting out, you cant save that one person.
-
Lol yeah I kinda dismissed everything once I read that.
OP, play Pig yourself for the next few weeks then come back and tell us how OP you think she is then
-
SWF's would never get games lol... survivor queues are already bad enough and I notice killers still dodge a lot even though I personally only play solo 99% of the time.
Not many people would willingly choose to play against SWF's very often
-
It does suck and I personally just cant bring myself to play like this as killer but I understand the imbalances things COH have brought to the game leave many killers feeling like they have no choice.
It feels horrible to wait for 10 minutes only to not even be able to play the game as you just get tunnelled out. But it is a symptom of a problem that I suspect the devs are realising they need to address (or the game will die).
-
Jan 2019
-
It has got nothing to do with being unbeatable, I main Nurse and win most matches and statistically most killers do win.
However it is about how you get there and dealing with a bunch of immature children in a SWF who click and teabag is not my idea of an enjoyable experience. I would rather lose but have fun chases with a team of adults, than win a match where I have to endure 15 minutes of childish morons who attempt to bully and get clips for their Toktics or whatever
-
Last survivor game I played against a Trapper and every one of my solo team mates was a complete lunatic with absolutely no sense of self preservation. I hope the Trapper didn't see it as bullying as I think that none of us cared if we got out or not but were just wanting chases etc.
Was one of the most fun matches in ages and I laughed my arse off
-
I can't generally be bothered as killer but I will if the survivors were particularly annoying. As survivor I don't enjoy being slugged for the 4k but I understand the hatch mechanic forces this on killers if they want to get everyone
-
As others have said, the killer role will likely always be somewhat stressful and it is probably a big reason why there are some people who literally never play killer (which is a shame).
But they can do a lot to make killer feel less unfair and like you are set up to fail when you load in on certain maps etc. I am sure they will be looking at making killer more appealing as they kinda have to or the game is going to slowly die at this rate
