All his pre-placed traps at the start of the game spawn within 16m of a generator. (this means that existing traps are more likely to be useful and going around to pick them up will be part of his first patrol anyway)

The three random traps start the game armed.

Remember any time the trapper spends arming traps and collecting them - is time not being spent in chase (not that his m1 chase is overpowered.....)

Also if the trapper is seen laying a trap - that knowledge gets relayed to all survivors.

Traps are so easy to see aswel.

People like OTZ betrayed trapper mains by pointing out all the clipping spots for traps.

  • What about being able to trap chests and gens?

  • I was thinking - Deep wounds applies every time you are trapped.

    • TRAPZ
    • Setting time: 2.5 seconds
      • The animation is split into three phases, with only the second phase being affected by Add-ons:
        • Crouching down: 0.5 seconds
        • Setting: 1.5 seconds
        • Standing up: 0.5 seconds
    • Disarm time: 3.5 seconds
    • Escape Attempt time: 1.8 seconds
    • Rescue time: 1.5 seconds

    • The above is disgusting - it takes 2.5 seconds and only 1 more second for a survivor to disarm them? One of the most toxic things as a killer is when a surivvor is folllowing you around the map disarming all your traps. You cant really do much about it either.

Killer is still hard to play, must survivors lose in solo q because they are allergic to gens and info perks, because instead of longing and mourning for the old dead hard crutch to carry them, what about making Kindred meta? But no. Playing a killer like ghostface is just as hard as ever.

Dude the memo from guys like Otz is to play against nurse then say its the like this for all killers. Fake news.

OTR's endurance status effect does not deactivate as long as you are unhooked before the 5th gen and of course as long as you do not perform any conspicuous actions.

I thought so as i have been stung with it tonight a lot

  • @Neyar said:

What he said, but also you get 'Opening' points for doing a door as survivor. 99-100% on a single door is enough to max the 'Opening' category.

So if one survivor opens both doors fully, it's actually wasting one door's worth of points because they're already capped in that category.

I can see im fighting a losing battle

  • @GoshJosh said:

Might wanna know what you’re talking about before making a post like this. You’re wrong on both fronts.

Both sides get more points when the gates are opened (altruism for survivors sacrifice for killers). And OTR is disabled when the gates are powered - not opened.

I did not know OTR was disabled when gates were powered. 100% knowledge gap on my part.

But the point stands - 99% is a rubbish mechanic.

If a gate is open, a suvivor should be able to escape through it - but running upto a gate and touching it to get out?

  • @Phasmamain said:

We all know the real reason the devs removed him is that he’s now on the hunt for Maurice and can’t waste time partaking in trials. Let’s hope he finds him soon :(

the actual ACTUAL reason - is that the clown has broken free from BHVR hq, where he was chained up and hooked up to VR. Forced to play with "suvivors".

He is out for fingers and no one is safe!

You can create other ways pressure too but for baby killer it's probably only way.

My name is george nelson - not babyface. You tell your friends.

  • Dude - tunnelling someone out the game asap is the only way to create sustained pressure on the rest of the team.

Sorry did reality upset the party :P

  • Seems like we are agreed that 100k bp for 2k shards - Considering,

= Shards can now unlock perks on ALL characters (Big deal if there is a meta perk and you dump 12k shards and get it on everyone),

= You can buy more and more cosmetics as the release more

  • @hastarkis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3074108#Comment_3074108

You can't buy it more times. It still 4 times max per rotation. Pretty sure it's a "we reduced the grind, you don't need those points anymore" thing.

It was 150k (I made it up but sounds nice and meaningful) because the average cost of one bloodweb was 50k, and after purchase you have to spent those 150k to find all three tiers of the perk (buy three levels of bloodweb). So since you've unlocked this perk already - here your 150k to level it up. Smth like that.

And now you already have this perk on tier 3 so what do you need those 150k for? Say "thank you" they let you get those points in the first place. /s

I don't know, sometimes it was much easier to spend 2k shards to get 150k bp just to roll RNG couple more times (bye-bye, trying to fing BT for the 200+ bloodwebs) or complete the gestalt (if I wanted reach 50 lvl but made it only to 48,5 and don't really want to play today anymore). I didn't want to spend 2 hours playing (q time included), I wanted BPs here and now. It was nice opportunity and... well, maybe it was't worth it economically, but it worked for me, I don't buy skins for shards so why not.

And 100k? Nuh. Meh. 150k wasn't too many, and 100k for the same price is awful.

Even if you had all characters on P3 - you still need to spend over 1 million bloodpoints per character to unlock the "normal perks".

So 28 million bloodpoints to get every perk on every char after p3 on all chars.

I understand that, however I do not have information regarding this, I was just pointing out it was something known since the PTB.

I use my shards for BP as I believe in supporting the game with buying cells. Now there is no point in cashing them in.

Why dos BHVR want to reduce revenue?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3067976#Comment_3067976

There are a few things here I'd like to contest, if you don't mind.

First, if you're hit off hook immediately to get OTR out of the way... you aren't being tunnelled, because you get the speed boost and the stealth of OTR to get out of sight and evade the killer. At worst, you get to relocate to somewhere you can start making a play in chase, which is exactly what anti-tunnel measures are designed to do. What you're describing is anti-tunnel measures working.

Second, if the exit gates are powered, tunnelling is fair game. What else is the killer supposed to do?

Third, how is a good player supposed to counter being downed immediately after they get unhooked? They don't have time to outplay it, especially if it's a solo queue player being farmed. If they're hit as soon as their feet touch the ground they literally don't have time to react, and even if it's a second later, they can't exactly do anything.

Leatherface camping did get a bit nastier, that I will agree with, but tunnelling and certain forms of camping categorically get weaker in this patch.

Hi just want to throw something in here - I am a killer only player for many years and run a facecamping bubba stream on twitch. People always think leatherface facecamping is nasty but if people learned how to get around bubba's mechanics, it would not be as such. It's just a knowledge gap in the community.

  • Im really struggling to read your stuff - not sure if english is not your first language but I don't want to mis-read something and get the wrong ideas. If I do then im sorry and please correct me.

Removing mori is a really silly idea - The only way you ever get value is if you camp someone to second stage on hook. It's really just a tunneling tool now. Stops DS, Stops pallet and flashlight saves, Stops bodyblocking.

There is an extra endurance effect to get through now but its still good.

I think mori should be basekit after 6 hooks.

  • @Mozic said:

Breaking a palette is a reset point in the chase because it also permanently exhausts a survival resource from the map - you're gaining something tangible for kicking the palette. If you want to try to retain bloodlust and rely on it to get a hit, you'll have to ignore the palette. If the palette went down in an area where no amount of bloodlust can allow you to catch an informed survivor out (since theyll just slide back and forth indefinitely) - then you have to kick it. That's what makes a "safe" palette "safe"

Bloodlust is already becoming more powerful - retaining it through palette kicking would be overindulgent and force survivors into some very specific (and aggressive) methods for forcing resets of bloodlust in a way that requires strong coordination, meaning that this change would also come at the greatest expense to solo survivors. That's bad.

It's a shame maps are so resource rich in pallets. Who is stacking all these pallets anyway?

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

What would be the counterplay then? Intentionally letting myself get hit

The counter play is - if they get bloodlust, everyone is agreed the chase has went on for long enough. So whats the issue?

My problem is survivors running round the whole map. Its toxic.

    This is clown math.

If 90 seconds is fair and you need 12 hooks

THAT MEANS YOUR GAMES HAVE TO LAST AT MINIMUM 18 MINUTES FOR A 4K

Games on average last about 5 to 10 minutes.

    You're 8 minutes over time.

    @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3055830#Comment_3055830

Since there is time it takes to search for survivor, probably something like half of generator times.

45 seconds doesn't seems that bad for either perspective imo.

The reason for my example answer was to show the best way to answer. The point in this question does not concern you, neither does whats not in the question or how badly you want to derail the question.

  • Survivors deserve to be camped by my bubba under The_Lyonic on ttv. I camp because killer is not fun anymore, so why should it be fun for them?

1 mistake, 1 chase and your game is over? Welcome to killer 2022.

Remember that killers are worth x4 what a survivor is worth. A survivor has a 25% chance to be chased but 75% chance they will be doing a gen. Your gameplay is repair gens.

My gameplay is chase all the time.

  • I did'nt mention skill so im afraid its not part of the question.

    So as an example answer:

"I'm killer main and I feel 90 seconds is fair"

I'm not being a doom monger I'm just stating to you what most of the survivors I used to play with told me why they quit. Plus if you haven't seen the numbers they were back down to 30k during the event there is a large exodus of killers and survivors from the 60k that was around in may and 90k for the anniversary. I'm in a couple discords and most of the survivors in them have quit due to the new update. RE might be huge but probably not a lot of people are getting tired of bhvr for not even fixing the core problems with their game I mean just look at rubber banding its been going on since the legion and gf ptb update like 3 4 months ago people are just tired of the game being bad so no its not being a doom monger its being tired of a broken game and people are losing faith in bhvr at this point. I'm not sure how new you are to the game but if you have been around for a while you will know that bhvr is doing a really bad job with their game development. I mean alone the community hates patrick why do you think they didn't show him during the dev livestream the bhvr team is really out of touch with the game and that's one of the main issues I see. They also cant take criticism well look what happened to dowsey for speaking his opinion they need to realize sometimes the truth hurts not everything can be a safe space.

its a map problem - why they cant make a balanced map is crazy.

  • I run a facecamping bubba stream on twitch because this game is not fun for the killer - it's way too stressful. Chasing survivors is the fun part - but watching them just W away to freedom or the next godloop gets old real fast.

The worst part is that the maps are so unablanced that survivors think they are untouchable and tbag on the exit gate etc. So toxic.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

At least a bot won't teabag me at the exit gate. He'll just leave.

Plus if the killer bot hooks someone, all 3 survivors are standing less than 10 feet from the hook, I bet he camps. Why would he leave if he knows everyone is there?

I'll see you and raise you.

If you have someone on the hook and can SEE atleast 1 person. 50% pressure on team right? Leaving the hook for 25% pressure? What if there are 2 people trying to unhook XD

  • @Tatt3dWon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/333187/killers-to-be-replaced-with-bots

if you haven't seen already survivor numbers flew out the window a lot of people are complaining about the long que times as killer. The "tank" meta is not a useful meta to win a game its just to frustrate killers until they get the 4k. Almost all my friends have said they wont play survivor till they fix the game and switched to killer since the gen slow down meta is crazy now.

Nah its just because people waiting for the PTB to drop and get mad with it. Also Resident Evil will be massive !! So stop being a doom monger please.

  • @Gary_Coleman said:

What if they add survivor AND killer bots and you don't even have to play the game anymore?

    First totem cleansed.

Sorry dude my personal feelings is that anime/manga is trash so I don't know/care about it. Bought the DLC for teachables ofc - I have all the DLC and all the perks and im expressing my point of view. As I am The Lyonic.

Stop what? Being a voice of reason? No. Again, put forth some evidence, hoss. Summarizing only the parts of the patch notes that defend your argument and not seeing the forest through the trees is a big problem on this forum, and you're compounding it.

    I will be proven correct.

  • Can you please stop it? You are clearly trolling. Baseline changes, what do think is going to effect kills more? 10% faster pallet kills or BT + Haste Basekit?

  • @foxsansbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3048557#Comment_3048557

Oh no, you made an assumption about me and used that to discredit me, rather than provide any real evidence.

    Oh no. I'm so hurt.

On the off chance you're not a troll, bottom tier killers absolutely need some love, of which they got quite a bit with this update. Nurse doesn't benefit from the baseline changes at all and Blight benefits from them at a reduced rate thanks to his pallet crushing mechanics and extreme mobility.

The problem is that new killers get rekt because freddy, myres, pinhead, ghostface, nemises, ringu all trash compared to high teir killers.

People come to this game because of these franchises and are leave soon after.

I haven't used either in months, sounds like a personal problem. Maybe you are a bot?

The last thing this game needs is to hear what the nurse/blight main want.

Point me to the bottom teir killers, wjy are they bottom teir? Where is the balance?

Lets make believe that there are perks beyond overcharge, control yourself.

    Like ruin and corrupt? Doh!

  • Alright let's try..

Do you understand what happens when someone kicks a generator?

The survivor is running away thats what.

What happens if there are 2 people working on a generator?

The survivor you don't chase goes back to working the gen.

Let's play make believe, in where no one touches a regressed gen for 30 seconds with overcharge how many seconds has the gen regressed?

    Fake news lol?

Dead Hard, DS, Iron Will gutted and all of them are strong survivor meta perks. Killers have some basekit buffs. Generators nerfed. And you are still whining?

Maybe we needs bot killers yeah, at least they will be challange to face.

You are uninformed, thats ok. You dont play enough to understand whats going to happen.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Well probably bots will perform better than you.

Survivors lost strongest meta perks and no, OTR will be nerfed pretty sure. You are seriously whining about killer buffs lol?

Are you one of those pushers trying to peddle the regression meta? Cause its fake news

  • Bubba needs some addon love - most of them are pretty silly as they nerf his chainsaw rev time too much.

  • This is balance which helps everyone but nurse... Just what this game needs.

  • @Sunkisses_ said:

Try infectious fright instead. Bubba absolutely excels at killing out of position survivors. When is a survivor out of position?

*When they are going for a flashlight save

*When they are in a deadzone

*When all the pallets are gone

*When they are going for a sabo

    *When you can see them

*When another survivor runs you into them

    *When body blocking

    *In corners of the map

And when do those things happen the most? After you've just downed a player of course! Infectious fright will help you leverage this mistake with great success, and if you put on chillis and bamboozle, it only becomes easier to punish them. You backrev meg, immediately revealing claudette behind a rock with a flashlight. You down them both, hook claudette, hook meg, then down the third survivor coming for the rescue. Losing the game? No problem, just snowball! Unless you're facing optimal survivors, you should have simultaneous downs at least once per match.

NOTE: this does NOT mean to ALWAYS slug; only when it's convenient. If a survivor books it into a quadruple connected giga jungle gym with 30 pallets, drop chase and focus your attention elsewhere. Proxy camping, tunneling, and slugging should be opportunist behaviors that punish misplays.

I usually play Bubba without perks or addons, but when i want to stomp I'll run purple chilli, yellow recharge, BBQ, Lethal Pursuer, Infectious Fright, and either bamboozle or deerstalker. If you snowball early and often, the survivors won't ever have the chance to hold m1. If you aren't comfortable with slugging like this, try deerstalker for a while to get into the rhythm, and use tantrum addons instead of chillis to get more confident in loops with your saw.

purple chilli with yellow recharge is the shiz niz!

I think your playstyle is more traditional, where I stand at the hook until they are dead.

You are literally adding something (sanity meter) because why? You want and easier chase, but yes OTR, BT, DH combo is broken. But let's address Overcharge, Call of Brine, and Eruption then, also broken especially with base-kit Brutal Strength.

Guess what, learn to address the problems on your side before going after the other

If you think Overcharge and call of brine are broken you don't understand game mechanics.

Gens only regress if kicked and no one repairs it. If you think standing beside 1 or 2 gens will win a match you are not paying attention.

Dowsey is a bhvr shill who tried to claim "regression meta" but its on the joke server, where everyone gives up.

This game REALLY needs better help with the matchmaking because this makes me never want to even touch blight again as clearly the game thinks my blight mmr is the same as my legion.

Just play facecamping bubba - the game is broken af unless you are using "meta" perks with killer.

  • I would just invest in a tower dude - don't get a medium - get the biggest you can and smash it full of airflow.

Sharing points is an interesting idea I never saw suggested before.

One thing though. Share between living survivors. Someone who dies first should have their share of the points up until that point, after that, the points get shared between the remaining 3, then the remaining 2, then last survivor gets all the points for themself.

But at the same time it would feel unfair for the one or two survivors who do all the work while the others just urban evade around and self care in the corner.

shared points at the end or nothing at all. The people who got out dont get out without the sacrifices of others.

Up the kill count - less hooks more mori's. Make the game fun to play as killer.

  • I genuinely believe you guys are just a bunch of survivor mains who played killer a few times and wants to weigh in like your opinion matters.

Playing killer is not fun anymore and has not been for a long time. If you are a no-lifer nurse or blight main, you are going to do well against anything that isnt a survive with friends. ANY other killer really struggles to get a kill unless they camp under the hook.

The only way to balance this game is to forget about nurse and blight and rebalance m1 killers. Share bloodpoints between survivors - that way people are rewarded or punished as a team for gameplay choices.

  • There is no fear anymore - it should feel like you accomplish something getting out.
