  • His expose add-on is pretty good so I definitely wouldn't class it as one of the worst in the game. Obviously you need to be landing long range shots fairly consistently, but I definitely get value from the one add-on more than any others.

It can easily turn the game from losing to winning with one good shot, especially against good SWF teams.

  • As someone who runs 3 aura perks on a regular basis I generally expect not to see someone for the whole match when I notice they're running distortion. Its very rare that I actually eat all charges & see an aura, which means in it's current state it's effectively just a perk that blocks all auras for the whole game and it really shouldn't be doing that.

I personally don't really find it OP, because it generally just means I focus on whoever doesn't have it, which is probably more annoying for the other survivors in the team.

I've always thought it should have a longer charge time or some different requirements due to it pretty much lasting the whole game even with 3 aura related perks.

  • Killer could afk the whole match and still get accused of tunneling 🤣

You could write a novel on what survivors class as tunneling in this game.

  • Not a Trickster main, but I enjoyed playing him from time to time. He feels much worse now imo. Not really sure why they even removed recoil it was barely noticeable. I've only played one game with him, but he just didn't seem to flow the same way as before. I kinda liked main event from before you could change the outcome of a game with it. The new one feels a bit underwhelming.

  • This issue if it gets nerfed to the point it becomes useless then it literally serves no purpose in the game

Pretty sure people are going to work out ways to counter it was some timing and perks which will render it useless.

  • I thought something like that might work, but I guess the timing of it is crucial. Can you actually vault during scamper or does it have to be directly before or after?

I also seen people blocking it with the perk that resets pallets.

I'm not entirely sure scamper is the issue I think the bigger problem is just how difficult it is to see both his red stain and footprints on certain loops. Makes it very hard to predict his movements and more often than not survivors will just run straight into you with very basic simple mind games

  • It's basically a bully squad combo. Haven't really seen it be useful other than SWF trying to abuse it and bully the killer. Like most broken survivor perk combos they usually get abused by coordinated teams at the expense of the killers sanity.

  • Xeno just feels awful to play. The tail attack is so inconsistent that you can literally watch it go through the middle of the character model and not register. The slow down is too much for a miss and his power is way too weak to warrant being constantly attacked and harassed by flame turrets. Other ranged killers do what he does significantly better, but they don't have to deal with the god awful hit box detection, movement penalty, continuous staggering & having to constantly attack turrets so they aren't gimped.

Nobody that plays killer seriously will use friend till end over regressions and gen-blocking perks. I just want a viable exposed perk that is as good as regression and gen-blocking. the perk design has potencial but expose number are too bad.

The other two perks are so far from good numbers that they're useless. hex perk and that battery excluded perk are dead perks on arrival.

I'm pretty sure there's 100's of Killer mains out there that never use regression or gen blocking perks and still play very well. I haven't ran anything other than information/aura perks for over a year now and still win most of my games playing a number of different killers. Too many people rely on gen regression to win games instead of focusing on pressure through downs/hooks/injuries.

That's why so many people started losing badly after the nerfs to gen regression a while back. People became way too reliant of a particular set of perks and couldn't adapt their playstyle to compensate. It also locks you into the same boring perks all the time and stops you experimenting with new fun builds.

  • I mean no one will ever know so if you like using it go for it. When I used to play on console years ago I would stick a small dot of blue tack in the middle of the screen when I first played with Huntress to get the feel of her aim, but once I started landing shots I took it off because it annoyed me. I play PC these days and I'm a pretty decent Deathslinger main, consistently landing max range shots a lot. I think once you get the feel for a certain characters ranged attack it just becomes more instinctive opposed to actually feeling like you need something like a cross hair to aim.

One thing that also annoyed me about the blue tack was i would often overthink about where my dot should be opposed to using snap reactions. In the end it actually became I hindrance more than anything. I fully understand why people using a controller would use it though. Takes a hell of a lot if practice to become semi proficient with a controller at aiming.

  • It's been an issue for so long now I almost half expect to be blinded even if I was standing in a corner flush up against 2 walls picking a survivor up. Only real way to counter it is lightborn or make sure you check the area before pick up. Chances are if you have a few flashlights in the lobby you're going to get at least one survivor following you around the map. If you get one problem survivor just tunnel them out the game.

Franklins is pretty good also, especially when you get the type of survivor that will blatantly stand in you face when you down someone. It's actually hilarious watching survivors run in for the save when you hit them and pick up straight away. They don't even realise the torch isn't in their hand anymore.

  • The Lost Boys

David aka Kiefer Sutherland as the vampire killer and the 2 Corey's as survivors.

  • In general I don't think it feels that good to play, mostly due to the wonky hitbox. I like my ranged killers and I'm generally pretty good with killers that need to aim & predict movement, but something just feels way off with Xeno and it's more frustrating than enjoyable.

  • Can definitely see the scarface Chucky getting a skin

  • Probably complaining about having to relearn muscle memory for using flashlights on him

  • You can't really get a sense of how good a killer is on PTB with bots due to them using wall hacks. Stealth killers or perks that cause survivors to lose certain functions like TR or red stain etc are pointless.

Good for testing out abilities I guess but doesn't really give you a sense of how weak/strong certain killers or perks are.

  • One thing I noticed when you jump through windows or under pallets during dash is you can flick to left/right and change direction by like 90 degrees. Not sure how this will translate to controller, but I've got a feeling it will be much harder to pull off effectively.

I asked them throughout a few months when I first heard of him l. Ice seen at least 1000 through various social media's saying hoe disappointed they are of thr new chapter

    Sounds legit 🤣

  • My favourite thing about lightborn when you have bullysquads is to react like I'm trying to avoid being blinded and make them doubt their aim. It's amazing how many times the same people will try to blind you before finally realising that you have lightborn. By that point it's generally too late and half the team is on death hook.

Normally it results in either DCs or some toxic end game chat about how bad I am because I decided to run lightborn against a 4 man bully squad.

  • Apparently it's also got something to do with Microsoft/Sony making it very difficult to implement on console. I'm pretty sure they could do it though if they really cared about console players (which they don't). Next best thing would be cross progression so you could at least play on PC if you've spent a lot of time/money on your console account.

  • Theres a fanmade killer called The Doll Maker that has very cool and intense music.

  • Why so they can nerf him 2 weeks after release and make him obsolete like 90% of the other licensed killers lol

  • The game does feel kinda off since the update. I main Deathslinger and his shots just don't feel right. I feel like I have to aim off way more than I normally do and straight target shots seem to be missing a lot when people are static. It's almost like a lag delay and looks quite glitchy when they move and slide along walls.

  • Hopefully not Xbox DBD players are the most toxic & vile players I've ever encountered in 20 years of online gaming. So much so that I had to disable messages outside of my friends list on Xbox after only playing for 5 days when I first started. PC players can get a bit salty from time to time in end game chat, but its absolutely nothing like the type of abuse you get sent on Xbox.

  • I mean you can actually bait a hit by pretending to respect pallets for 1-2 loops and make them think they'll get another loop out if you, but actually don't respect it on the third occasion. You can work out fairly quickly what type of survivor you're facing and how they play loops from just respecting the pallet on a few occasions.

  • The biggest BS killer thing currently in this game is flashlight Saves going through walls or through the back of your head when standing 1" facing a wall.

  • You need to know when to leave a strong area of the map. Unless you're gaining something from being there i.e removing some strong pallets.

Like if you see a survivor that's got some distance on you going to shack then just let them run to shack and move away. You'll eventually catch someone off-guard later in the match and break the shack pallet much faster. Also most tiles have optimal ways to push survivors off running them that don't involve mind games. Maybe learn those if you haven't already. Sometimes you can mind game yourself on loops when the best approach is to just pressure a pallet and get it out the way as fast as possible.

  • All I'm really seeing lately is nerfs to killers and new/buffed survivor perks that can be massively abused by SWF & dont have much impact on solo queue.

Its mind boggling that they constantly give SWF new toxic abusable builds to mock the killer with. SWF is the last thing that should be buffed in this game and it's happening over and over these days.

The horror aspect in this game is an absolute joke. The killer is literally afraid to do anything these days for the fear that he might get a pallet dropped on his head, blinded, endurance hits etc etc. There's currently another 2 toxic builds to add to the numerous other toxic builds that SWF bully squads run and I'm guessing there will be a few more with the new buffs and perks available.

Queue times are already getting much longer I've noticed tonight. With the implementation of abusable builds and playing against bots I'm not surprised killer mains are taking time away from DBD.

  • I actually quite like the way his power works during a chase. I don't know why people keep saying he's a killer with a high skill ceiling because he's fairly easy to use once you get going. The biggest issue for me is how map dependent he is. He's either super fun or super frustrating. I feel like he doesn't work properly on half of the maps due to LOS issues and that makes me not want to play him. You can have like 1 good game and then get 3-4 bad maps in a row which kinda ruins his vibe for me.

Ngl I don't usually agree with a lot of your opinions (which is fine as no one agrees on everything) but this one is spot on. There is not a single perk I have played against in my years of DBD that gets me tilted like BO. It does next to nothing to PC players while being an annoying hinderance against console games. I will tunnel you, camp you, let everyone without BO leave, or sabotage you if your my teammate.

The closest thing to BO (IMO) is people running anti-hook builds then rushing to the forums in tears because they were slugged.

    This perk should be deleted.

It shouldn't be deleted because as you mentioned already it literally does nothing to PC players & it also synergises well with certain other perks for specific builds.

It should however be completely reworked for console because it's absolutely ridiculous how strong the effect is foe a console killer. It's just another failure to port certain features over to console by BHVR.

  • @Juicyman said:

Perk is good, don't get me wrong (the downsides are negligible), but the difference is ultimately committal time. Dead Hard was activated when the killer had already spent x amount of time trying to finish a chase, but Dramaturgy happens much earlier allowing for a different level of commitment giving the killer agency in their macro play.

It's usually also much easier to get the first hit in, deactivating the perk, since typically the killer leads the chase at the beginning as they come in from their chosen angle, while the second hit you are following the survivor into pallet city.

A killer doesn't really dictate the first chase. A survivor running windows (which is a big % of players) that chooses their gen & position on gen will normally set themselves up pretty well for a first chase regardless of what direction the killer comes.

  • Between people running MFT & the new perk I'm pretty sure you're going to see a pretty big increase in chase times solely based on the fact that people will be making it to connecting pallets & tiles they wouldn't normally make without being downed.

If you're using Dramaturgy exclusively for gaining that extra distance to a window or pallet it really doesn't matter if you get exposed because you'll most likely run it off anyway on the new loop.

All that's going to happen is you'll see an uptick in people playing Killers like Nurse, Wesker, Blight etc. Basically anyone who can counter those perks in chase.

At this point it doesn't really matter what they add the game its all over the place. Killers have no real direct meta setups anymore so they mostly camp, tunnel or proxy camp for kills. MMR is a total joke. Solo queue is riddled with DCs and early suicides. I guess the only group that is feeling good about the game is SWF who got some nice new perks to abuse the killer with.

  • Solo queue is definitely the most unrewarding aspect of DBD if you base your enjoyment on escaping solely.

I get much more out of having a few good chases where I run the killer for a few gens every now and then or manage to land a few flashbang saves. For me interacting with the killer is the most enjoyable aspect of playing survivor so I intentionally look for chases and try to get better at running tiles and loops. The game becomes more enjoyable when you find other areas to focus on not directly connected to just escaping.

  • Hook suicides would be a good start. There's literally no point in having any of the mechanics on first or second hook. The only thing that would mess up is a few perks that could either be reworked or you could rework the lost progression from failing an escape attempt. Add some minor debuff for failed attempts or something and keep the progression ticking away steadily.

  • The biggest hurdle with learning Nurse not so much about learning blink distances/ timings etc but how many things mess up blinking. There's so many terrain issues with her power it can be quite frustrating learning what areas will screw you over when trying to blink & you end up just getting stuck, standing in place or falling through the floor. You basically have to learn every single map again because her power is so unique. It takes some time to become efficient, but she's pretty fun when you do.

    Good luck

  • Probably the multiple times I've sniped a teabagging survivor at max range with Deathslinger right on the exit gates. It's even better if they're healthy and I'm running the iri add-on that exposes them over 12m shot.

The first step is to reduce lobby dodging.

    How to do that?

Hide Prestige, names and profiles. Survivors don't see the Killer, Killers don't see the Survivors.

Once we reduce or limit lobby dodging, we can see how well the system does when people aren't purposefully ######### it up. It will probably still be bad, as my faith in BHVR's matchmaker is...not high, but it'll give us a better place to start.

Or you could just remove the ability to cancel out of a game once it's locked in. Treat it the same as a DC and add a time penalty if you remove yourself. Add in pre-match accept button to ensure players are ready to commit to the match so if they have some real life issue they can just reject the game.

Give it a timer of like 45 seconds and reduce the 1 minute match start to like 30 seconds since everyone has accepted the match and is ready to go. It might even help remove the afkers at the beginning of the match.

Yes, if i loose to those teams 5 or 6 times, then i get one trial with potatoes. It is a terrible trial aswell and totally unengaging.

DbD trials are of really low quality tbh, especially when you are good at the game cause then you have 2 types of trials : the one you stomp (rarely) and the one you can't win against unless you sweat as if your life depended of this trial's outcome (and still, even with sweating you will eventually loose).

You can't be that good if you're losing to experienced survivors all the time.

Plenty of people that easily win 80+% of their games that aren't streamers and don't seem to have problems facing SWF or experienced survivors. These players aren't playing against inexperienced survivors either because it's so easy to reach the MMR cap and you'll get lumped with very good survivors even if you win like 20 games.

  • I don't believe all your games are like this. You've already stated in previous threads that it's also no fun playing what you call potatoes. You might get a few games in a row where you play good SWF or high prestige survivors, but it's certainly not every game considering MMR is a myth & you can be pretty much placed against anyone these days.

  • So you started playing again a week ago and your Ir1 on survivor playing in solo queue?

Not that rank really means much and is more about time invested these days, but getting Ir1 on survivor is pretty frustrating even for most experienced players who play solo queue due to the amount of games you lose solely by just having bad teammates DCing and hook suicide.

  • There's nothing you can do unfortunately. I also have a Xbox account with like all killers 3+ prestige level and most survivors unlocked with multiple cosmetics that I just don't use anymore now I'm on PC. I would love to be able to merge my accounts together, but can't see it happening anytime soon.

With regards to my PC account I now have all survivors and killers unlocked that I slowly bought over time. When I first got my account I bought it on epic games and there was a big sale on so I managed to get the game + all killers for around £40. I just recently bought all survivors with the current 50% sale for around £40-50. If you plan on playing long term PC I would suggest taking advantage of these large discount sales and just biting the bullet and buying everyone you want during that period. I think they come around at least once a year.

One thing you could do on PC is get the Microsoft game pass, which allows you to play your Xbox account games via PC. You still need to use a controller, but you can get pretty decent software on PC that allows you to remap controller to keyboard if you can't be bothered fine tuning the controls. It's never gonna be as good as standard K&M but it at least allows you to play via PC with all of your progress and cosmetics.

Also if you can get a deal on epic games you can merge your account to a steam account, which does have shared progression with other PC platforms.

  • Increase DC penalties I say

  • @Pulsar

Some people on this forum can't comprehend how anyone could actually be good at the game because if they're struggling then of course the game must be unbalanced and everyone is struggling.

  • @LobbyDodgerLeonidas said:

On killer you also have to deal with annoying ass SWFs that send you to Garden of Joy, stack tons of meta perks or utilize a strategy revolving around annoying you as much as possible like Boil Over sabo teams or running you into multiple Head On stuns over and over. For the meta sweat ones that bang out gens super fast, bring stacked items, and send you to blatantly unfair maps, they'll also teabag the hell out of you at the exit gates and talk ######### in the chat, acting like they're good at the game when playing in coordinated SWF is literally baby mode that breaks the game. They have zero self-awareness that escaping in a SWF is the least impressive thing you can do in this game

Do you feel better now you got your daily rant out the way?

Dead hard wasn’t even broken, it was as easy as waiting it out and most survivors would just dh into a tree, but that’s another argument to be made, mft gives you maybe one more loop on a pallet if you’re lucky, and anyone who’s slower than a 115% killer shouldn’t be looping like that anyways, again it is barely noticeable for me when I play killer and I’ve never had problems with it before

The reason old DH was a problem has nothing to do with people using it to try and juke the killer into getting a free health state. It was a problem because of the dash giving decent players an opportunity to extend chases and reset or connect certain loops for an unhealthy amount of time.

That's why people compare MFT to old DH because it gives you the opportunity to reset a chase by reaching a window, pallet or loop you wouldn't normally make. That alone can extend a chase by 30-60 seconds easily, which is why DH was nerfed.

  • @UnavailableName said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3473542#Comment_3473542

Yes, now apply to those stats the impact of suicides on hooks and also add the gen regression perks nerf.

It is funny as you act as if the last months changes did not have an impact on the kill rate.

I'm sorry but most killers were stacking gen regress perks in those stats, the META was Pop + COB + Overcharge + POR (at least 3 of them stacked). 3 of those perks had been nerfed to the ground... while that was those perks that gave a chance to the killer to extend the trial duration in oprder to get 3k+.

After this, devs have added MFT... do you need us to explain you how the new survivors META is busted ?

MFT + Resilience + Botany/WWMI + WOO -> you see all pallets to makes looping more efficient, Botany/WWMI negates the global heal nerf, MFT + Resilience increase gen rush and extend chases far too much.

With all this, killers cannot keep up, i have played soloQ last evening, with barely average loopers and still i have escaped like 50% of the time... in soloQ. Most killers could not catch me at all and were forced to drop the chase.

    I have lost to :

a Oni -> other survivors could not sit at gens

a Nurse -> i gave up right at the start, i do not like nurse

a Billy -> well other survivors way too greedy, i gave the Billy a 3 minutes chase while being injured though

a Huntress -> one surv DCed right at the start and well we still finished all gens

For all other trials i have escaped and we were often 3 to escapes.

I do not even see how a tier A or lower killer can win against survivors to my level, the kill rate would be 30% at best i guess if the MMR was strict.

So you're talking on behalf of all killers now when you state that "killers can't keep up"?

How is it so hard to fathom that other people might not have the same issues as yourself because they're better at playing killer than you are?

  • @LobbyDodgerLeonidas said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3473896#Comment_3473896

You come off so smug but since you're such an expert, you'd realize that there's no such thing as inflated MMR. It doesn't matter what your MMR is, you can and will still get matched with opponents far outside of your skill level. Anytime someone dodges sweat team six, the matchmaker throws any random killer in there so that the SWF team doesn't have a long queue. You could lose 100 matches in a row never using gen regression perks and playing chill just going for hooks and never getting kills and you'll still get the MFT + Resilience + Hope squad that's playing like BHVR is going to send them a check for $50,000 if they win

Nah I'm just tired of pussy footing around peoples feelings and trying not to offend them because they're struggling at a certain role in the game & put it down to X, Y & Z reason to why they're getting beat all the time. I've tried a friendly approach and it's generally met with hostility about playing against bad survivors & that I couldn't possibly do what I say and win against good survivors.

I mentioned in previous posts before pre gen regression nerf that certain players would struggle after the nerf because people relied heavily on certain perks to win and never developed their skills in other areas due to using OP perks all the time . Now here we're a few months later and the forum is flooded with posts about how OP survivors are. People can't fathom how other players aren't having the same issues as them so it must not be true and they must be always playing against baby survivors.

Yeah MMR is broken we all know that, but it still has a cap (which is fairly easy to reach) & the game will try and match you within a certain range of that cap if possible until you reach the top and then you can pretty much play any level. What you're describing about sweat squads DC and then getting lumped with a baby killer is correct, but is that happening every single game??? Reading some of the comments and posts it would appear that these people are exclusively playing sweat squads game after game which I find hard to believe. At some point you're going to play normal survivors and have fairly nice games. Of course you can go on extended streaks of playing against SWF, multiple TTV SWFs & bully squads, Gen Rush, Sabo Squad etc, but with your theory of there being no MMR you should also get a fairly high amount of baby survivors because there's no MMR.

  • It's hilarious how many bad killers cry on the forums these days. Why is it so hard to believe that other people who disagree with you might just actually be better than you at the game & have a completely different positive experience when playing?

It doesn't matter what you say, even if you're trying to help or give some positive advice. It generally ends with the bad killer saying "you must be playing potatoes at low MMR" or "try doing that at high MMR without tunneling at 5 gens"

I've came to the conclusion that killers who relied heavily on meta gen regression perks, tunnelling & camping are having a really bad time now because their MMR was so inflated due to these perks. These players are now stuck in a constant cycle of playing semi proficient survivors & mistake everything as unbalanced because their skill level relied heavily on certain perks, which they don't have anymore. Survivors have also received some pretty decent perks lately and this amplifies the new difficulty 10 fold for them.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 12
