  • As far as I can see there are no settings to be able to choose between a performance mode or graphics mode on the DBD settings on PS5. There is however this that I haven't even tried myself

  • I know it can be difficult at times but try not to let certain things get to you. It's just a game at the end of the day.

Sometimes a little break from the game is needed if you find you are more irritated than entertained.

  • I personally like the voice lines as it makes the characters feel more unique than just a skin. Lara saying bollocks or Alan shouting he'll kill the killer when he's being carried is great.

But yes, an option certainly would be good for players that don't like it

I can live without a Castlevania map because we are still getting the characters. Now us not getting a Trickster map THAT is disappointing

Remember the cool neon backstreet lobby when he was new? A map would be so cool. There was a fan made map showing a lot of potential

I've played other games with licensed anime cosmetics, and after the licenses expired the cosmetics never returned. DOA5 had Attack on Titan outfits and arenas, and once the license was up those were removed from the store and never returned.

    I wonder why that is?

It doesn't bode well for a return to DBD in that case.

    Ah well, fingers crossed 🤞

  • Still happening on custom but gaining 1 token only

  • @Tyler3 said:

As far as I'm aware, they were time-limited and will not return. Still, there's a chance maybe.

This is the only licensed content that is now unavailable if I'm not mistaken? Since Stranger Things made a return (granted it was gone for quite some time)

All of the Behaviour created cosmetics tend to make a return in the shop after they have previously been in a rift.

  • House 1 and 2 were great

  • If you have a flashlight, blinding zombies is one of the best ways of dealing with them as the stun duration is decent.

You probably knew this already but just incase

But some pallets are not equal, some pallets can drag on for many minutes due to a loop.
How fast can Survivors rebuild pallets?

I mean that's kinda the point - the stronger the pallet you are using it on, the more value or used on a filler pallet it's more of a timewaster.

If the killer is wasting actual minutes on a singular pallet then it's likely they aren't playing well in the first place, even if the pallet is strong.

That's what I'm uncertain of, just how long it should take. I was thinking no more than 30 seconds but perhaps it would need to be longer.

I mean there could be a completely new way to make sure this type of perk - two different types of pallets defined by a slight colour or shade difference. Ones at very strong locations being unable to being rebuilt. As with most ideas for this game, adding more layers does make it more unlikely for development reasons

Spirit fury works against decent survivors exactly once. Then it's pre drop city. To make it actually good you have to pair it with endurance. You're out two info/stall perks for two perks entirely countered by pre dropping. It's a very very bad value proposition. It's not even "top survivors", it's anybody with a quarter of a brain.

Bamboozle has little to do with god pallets. It's not doing a hell of a lot for you in Gideon or anywhere where a god pallet connects to another tile either.

I mentioned bam specifically for dealing with shack as that is often one of the stronger areas survivors on a a lot of maps.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Really difficult to balance. The thing is, even if Pallets nowadays are weaker (Killers have more ways to play around them and Maps in general are weaker), on every Map there are at least a few Pallets which are very strong and on most maps there are 1-2 God Pallets.

Rebuilding them with just the cost of 14 seconds or so (if you mention cleansing a Totem) is too strong, because a Pallet like Shack Pallet against a good team can easily make this worth.

Such a Perk also limits future map design. Because you would always have to balance maps with that Perk in mind, so Maps would need to be weaker, because you cannot have so many strong Pallets when you have to keep in mind that they can be rebuild by at least one Survivor.

The Perk basically would need to be unviable to be used and then you can also just not create it.

Yeah, I don't doubt that it could be insanely strong when used by top survivors but I do feel like the strength of god pallets is slightly overexaggerated for the skill level of the majority of the player base especially when there are some strong perks to ensure these pallets are dealt with quickly (like spirit fury and bamboozle to block shack window)

I mean it just kinda sucks for the rest of us that aren't amazing 😆

  • @Emeal said:

Lets say 4 survivors bring in this perk, what kind of draw back would not make this perk overpowered?

4 pallets coming back on a cooldown would be pretty powerful.

My counter to this would be that a pallet can only be rebuild 1 time regardless of which survivor did it

  • Instant autospend of BP as people have suggested in the past could dramatically negate the grind

  • The idea of pallet stuns causing gen regression is a new idea I haven't heard of 👍

  • @Seraphor said:

Unless they've changed how the hatch works, you can't.

The hatch doesn't spawn relative to any players. The hatch spawn is already set when the map loads. It's already there right at the start of the game, but invisible and with no collision. It used to still have collision which allowed people to find the hatch before it had technically been revealed by walking over an invisible bump.

I completely forgot about this! I'm glad they removed the collision

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/424321/hex-perk-placement

The developers don't really care about totem placements and hexes in general. We told them so many times how bad nearly every totem spawn is and they still don't learn it - best example is the greenville map (a new map) where a totem spawns right next to the generator in the mainbuilding. They also refuse to introduce a good totem defender like a corrupt intervention but just for totems or that the hexes get active when it gets active - e.g. Devour Hope or Lullaby glow up once it gets their first token, Ruin glows up once one survivor lets go off a generator. The best totem defender is Thrill of the Hunt (+ Face of the Darkness). With Dracula we will get Dominance which blocks a totem for eight seconds when a survivor touches it the first time but this Perk is rather bad because eight seconds is not much and the chest part is also a downside: You should be greatful when the survivors waste their time with a chest. So why should you prevent this and tell them: WORK ON A GEN! Lastly, totems (as well as the mentioned Dracula Perk) suffer from the issue that they are weaker against SWF than against SoloQ. A SWF can call out a hex location - SoloQ is not able which means when a survivor knows your totem location, you can keep them busy to prevent a cleanse.

To make totems better, the developers need to rework every totem spawn - they should never spawn next to a generator or loops (= places where survivors like to be). Then, they should introduce new and good hex defend perks. Maybe also increase the time it takes to cleanse a hex totem. Lastly, they should also rework Pentimento because it is a rather unhealthy Perk and also hurts hex perks as well as some hex builds.

I haven't been able to play the PTB due to being a console player so I am looking forward to testing out Dominance (as well as the rest of the Castlevania stuff) but I did see Otz talking about how they shouldn't be punishing chest searches - exactly why Weave Attunement is a very sucky perk to go against because the only slight counter is to avoid anything to do with items at all.

Thrill of the Hunt used to be better for totem defence from what I remember.

I personally like Hex Pentimento just for an extra challenge in trying to get it at max stacks but perhaps it does need a bit of a change

  • I wish they would put them in custom matches already

I'm so sick of brown medkits.

At least they are useful. Brown toolboxes

  • I would assume as long as you have cross progression enabled and synced, it wouldn't matter as the cosmetics aren't exclusive to one particular platform.

I hope that's the case as I have the game preordered on Xbox but mostly DBD on PlayStation

  • The Unknown is a creeper.

Jumpscare Myers can still give me a heart attack on the odd occasion

  • I too need to get better at this. I have been playing for the majority of DBDs life but avoided using flashlights up until recently and even though I think I have the flashlight save timing correct, sometimes the the beam doesn't start to narrow (if at all) until it's too late. Same with trying it during a killers breaking animation.

Looks like it's right in their eyes but the game seems to disagree ☹️

  • @SoGo said:

Totems should have better hidden spawns in general. Not right next to generators or in the middle of a high traffic area, or in really obvious spots.

Problem for boons, you say? Increase their range! And lower the sounds they make, these things are loud as a vacuum cleaner!

Yes indeed. Sometimes totem spots are ridiculous.

The boon sound is actually a hindrance as a survivor - it can so easily mask a quiet killer

  • I know it's kinda throwing buy I like to have a chest/looting build every now and again as it keeps things a little fresh.. until the killer has Weave Attunement and it completely counters the whole thing ☹️

  • @TieBreaker said:

What would stop the killer from placing something like Ruin next to a three gen and just patrolling that area? Being able to choose the location could be exploited to make matches absolute hell.

I think a better solution would be to not have a Hex activate until it's conditions are met. So Devour wouldn't activate until you got two hooks, as it requires two tokens to activate. Failing that, a Hex could randomly spawn into the map on a delay, so it couldn't be pre-cleansed.

That's true but I guess there could be certain restrictions on totem locations or gen placement. It does get a little more complex though..

What you are saying is probably best and much easier to make possible

  • Yes please Behaviour. It would make killer in general much more accessible

  • Depends - were you Vecna and did they have the Eye or Hand of Vecna? I'm not too familiar with the items but one makes you momentarily invisible that much I know

  • Still not working on PS5

  • I too am having cannot connect to store message display when trying to boot up

  • By amulet, I assume you mean charms?

  • I have a different proposed minor buff for the Trapper - he still starts with the current number of traps but the ones he needs to collect are already set. Granted it's more RNG but it's still positive because there is the possibility an extra outcome or or two by either a survivor getting caught in one or setting one of, giving away their location.

  • I still like it with Knockout but it's true a team with good comms can still trump it. At the same time if it's causing the team a little bit of difficulty locating each other then it's still a bit of slowdown

  • I wait at a gate for a killer when I don't have max boldness points for a teeny bit more if I can get them to chase me out

  • I feel like Xenomorph is a really powerful killer but I am a little sad they never gave it a mechanic of bleeding acid blood when it gets stunned

  • I still have fun most of the time as a survivor, although it can be a little difficult at times when I'm playing with my lesser experienced friends and a lot of tiles now are absolute rubbish

  • Nothing wrong with exposing kids to horror classics. I absolutely loved Alien, The Thing and Evil Dead long before I was supposed to be able to see them

  • I understand that Myers is weak in modern DBD but I personally find his simple playstyle quite fun and in theme with his character. I hope that if he was changed, it wouldn't be a complete rework

For a while we kept having chapters leaked and spoiled, it took iirc a fake rumour of Tcm licence being pulled in order to flush the leaker out but by then Nic Cage was already spoiled. Maybe they are still anxious.

I agree. It's likely to beat leakers to the punch

  • I thought it was s killer only chapter

  • I completely agree that the hitbox detection for hatchets on 2V8 is even more questionable than it is in the standard mode.

  • I have items set to a D pad button so I can use R2 for gens, healing etc so I don't ever accidentally throw down pallets

  • I kinda disagree. It feels reasonably balanced to me (huntress hixbox detection is even more ridiculous now though). The class system is a good move and with the right teamwork on either side victory is possible

  • Delete and redownload game if unable to update. Worked for me

  • Myers. He's not a strong killer in the beginning but he is one of the more simple ones to use and has the scare factor when undetectable

  • Available now. I did just delete and redownload the game so try that if it is still not coming up

  • Skull Merchant. I cannot say I'm an expert on how to deal with her, but I know enough and still I find her irritating. Drones stacking on drones, she's almost always undetectable, can interrupt you when you are trying to disable drones which gives you auto broken status, she gets haste, can track you most of the time.

Really not fun and hard to counterplay

  • My synchronisation wheel has suddenly started working again. Not sure why, but I'll take it.

Had a support ticket open about the Nintendo account visibility and this but I have yet to receive a response - looks like I don't need it now thankfully.

Hopefully yours just starts working out of the blue too

  • I am now getting the same thing after I closed my browser and cleared my cache to fix the Nintendo account linking being unavailable.

I went to link my Nintendo account to BHVR but there is no option. Only Steam, PS, EPIC, Xbox, Discord & Twitch. Is there a reason this is missing? I have 1,200 hours on Switch since I had it on there for 4 years so I would like to transfer my progress. Thanks for your help!

I actually had a simple solution and I hope it works for you. Sign out of behaviour account, close Web browser, clear cache and then resign into behaviour account. Nintendo linking appeared for me after that. Sync wheel is empty now though so may need to resync all platforms but unsure yet
