Well I think if TCM is a good game dbd might lose half the player base. I think ppl are playing this game because there isn't anything else currently. I think the last year couple years have been the worst state this game ever been in, and I've been playing since July 1st 2016.
It depends on why ppl gg go next. Are ppl looking to go next when they see a SM? Players might go down fast and go next out of just being frustrated by how bad the game is overall. Can't really blame ppl wanting to go next vs certain killers.
But they are constantly f r u s t r a t e d, why would a normal person continue playing a game that makes them f r u s t r a t e d? That's because they're not frustrated, they just don't like when smth happens not as they wanted.
They saw that they're playing against nurse/huntress/dredge/etc? They rush to them and let them hook themselves even though the killer happen to be mid and you and 2 remaining teammates smh manage to do 4 gens but eventually fail because you lacked the input of the 4th surv.
They unintentionally bumped into trees/walls and got downed? They immediately kill themselves on hook. All these examples are based on my own experience and I can tell you that it's already becoming common. Ppl throw games over nothing just... because they can. They know that they won't be punished. This is just childish and can't be justified. At this point these brats can just uninstall and never come back, they'll do a favour for a normal players, players, that spend their time to queue/load in just for it to be thrown because of someone's tantrums.

Sure, but it feels like you are putting the cart Infront of the horse. It could even be on of those things where you are just adding gas to the fire. If the game is in a bad state that this is such a problem I think you are just making it even worse. Feel like it would be a good idea to look at doing this if they can fix the core issues first and then look at punishments after to reduce it even further.
"The game is in the bad state"
Then why bother playing?
That being said, I've seen ppl killing themselves once they knew who they were playing against or they played bad and got downed. You can't justify this shіt.

Congrats, you only believe what you want to believe. Not possible to play against baby survs for 10 hours straight. You can choose to ignore the evidence or accept that your opinion doesn't mean it's correct. I can main killer and admit they're op, so why not you?
You literally wrote that you haven't played for 4 years, long before the SBMM kicked in, which means that you still had to calibrate. Every killer has their own MMR and the calibration mentioned above isn't instant. At this point game will match you with uncalibrated/low mmr survivors with less than 20 hours. I can also buy myself a new acc and steamroll a bunch of newbies with a perkless killers but that won't mean that "kIlLeRs ArE Op".

Wdym by online games: a game with public matches or a cooperative gameplay?
Project Zomboid is a great example of a co-op zombie survival game, there are also public servers as well. That being said, online is completely optional and you can play in singleplayer with a lot of mods.

No, you're 100% correct. I just recently got back into the game and I have to say maybe every 10 games as a survivor I would escape even when playing with a full squad. Last night when my friends got off I decided to do my killer daily rituals for the first time in 4 years and let me just say that I have never felt so catered to in any game ever. I actually ended up having so much fun being the killer I stayed up for 10 HOURS straight just playing killer. It is so one sided, it's like a grown man fighting off four kids. I also did not lose one game in those 10 hours, every game I killed every survivor with no one escaping. I haven't touched the game in 4 years and I didn't lose a single game. I also didn't use any perks just the base level 1 killers. That's really all that needs to be said. I couldn't believe how many buffs the killers got over 4 years. This is quite honestly the most unbalanced game I have ever played. That being said I still love playing the killers, but survivors are never going to be fun without friends.
Congrats, you've played against baby survs

This entire interview's existence feels ironic to me that they would even do it with someone from bhvr, considering that the guy running the podcast has shown on twitter that he hates dbd and calls bhvr for culture vultures with how they do their licensed dlcs.
Didn't know about it, lol
Well, it's a win-win situation for them so they can forget about their past hatred for a bit: they did an interview with a dev and now they'll get a lot of clicks.

On what Platform?
You can still get ST DLC on some platforms. (Nightmare Edition Disks, Steam Keys are expensive at the moment)
I play on both EGS and Steam and yeah, I saw someone selling STA steam gift for 200$ lol

At least the team have been trying and no doubt will try again when conditions are more fortuitous. My question is that if it is Netflix which are the issue, how come those 3 skins from that horror series (cannot remember the name, but Doctor, Hag and Hubtress each got a legendary) remain, because aren't they Netflix also? Or have I missed something?
They seem to have no connection to the Netflix

Sorry, I meant we were "left in the dark" about why it was removed. I mean it was pretty obvious it was because of Netflix, but now we have confirmation that it was Netflix's fault. They never really explained anything or talked about it since, so I'm just glad that he acknowledged it and actually gave an answer.
But yes, no signs of it ever returning unfortunately :(
This sucks, I will never be able to play Demopup

Got flashbacks from a recent ironworks of misery match
As a result, 3 smartаssеs got slugged and I let the 4th survivor, who basically tried to play in a normal way, have a hatch.

My girlfriend plays on Steam, I don't know if this issue has been affecting any other PC softwares but when trying to just play the game we lobby up like normal but then the game apparently just goes black, still playing the offering sounds but just a blank screen. If in game sometimes she just gets stuck in place like after an unhook or something & that can lead to her game just crashing & showing that she dc'd. Any idea if this is a bug a lot are facing or if its a problem likely only on her end or something. It's not Internet based, she knows that much for certain. Just no idea how to fix or if anyone knows what it is. Any help/advice is appreciated.
Did you try verifying game files?
-
Good idea, same goes to some offerings imo

Been having the issue since the last patch. When I am in the game it will at some point just black screen and I can do nothing, any audio will continue to play until I restart my PC and restarting seems to be all I can do. Can be on the menu screen when idle, or in a game. Alt+Tab and graphics driver reset (win+ctrl+shift+B) don't work.
I have tried different survivors, killers, perks all result in the same crash.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled DBD, and verified game files. Uninstalled Reshade. Uninstalled and reinstalled EAC before playing. Made sure graphic drivers were up to date. Reinstalled Windows updates. Monitored data whilst playing (all seems normal). Not overclocked. Changed graphic settings. Deleted the local DBD file (saw somewhere it might help)
Also, this only happens on DBD. I have tried other games and had zero issues, they have been older, newer, more graphically demanding running on ultra etc.
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
Processor - 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700K @ 3.60GHz
MB - ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-E
2 x 8 GB Ram
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Also, I have tried to attach my logs but apparently, the file is too large, so I have attached one of the backups and a picture to show that issue.

Considering the Hatch emits a sort of hum, I think it'd be fair for the heart to show the lullaby thingy when you're near (although maybe it'd be a problem when you're facing killers with an actual lullaby)
Maybe the hatch lullaby indicator can be located in the characters head? Sounds funny but whatever

Boot game, load into lobby as survivor, game begins loading
Sometimes crash when loading - 25%
Other times, load into the game, play for a couple of minutes then crash - 75%
The crash is just a black screen I have to restart my whole PC to unlock it, and there is no crash report. If I'm repairing a gen or doing something that makes noise, the noise continues but I can't interact or even hear footsteps if I try to move. Other games don't seem to get this issue either
I've tried on various survivors with different perks on different maps. Doesn't seem to happen if I play killer.
Better add a crashlog
EDIT: nvm i'm stupid and didn't notice that you wrote that there is no crashlog :(

I still don't think it's statistically possible for this to be a majority of matches to I cannot see why devs should be in any rush to fix this. Face it man, you're in a minority of people
And now you're telling me that this is nothing and shouldn't be addressed. Yikes, this is totally unbiased opinion from a person that previously admitted deliberately quitting an already started game.
Speaking of frequency, this bs started right after a recent midchapter update so I'm pretty sure that it'll get even worse in the nearest future. The more people face it - the more people will do this as well.

Your experience isn't the same as mine. I don't get ragequitters every 2nd or 3rd game, so yeah, of course I disagree with your suggestion. You're not the only person playing dbd right now, man. Sucks you get a lot of people who give up but your experience isn't the same as everyone else's.
There are still many people from different social platforms that as well speak about this problem so, I guess, something needs to be done?

Deliverance doesn't do what I want it to do though. Slippery Meat and luck offerings ignores the unhook factor of Deliverance which you can't always guarantee per match. I feel you are missing my point.
I'd rather not have a whole mechanic and perks and offerings overhauled just because people can't handle that not everyone in their match wants to stay in it. Unironically, preaching all about fun for others introduces a system that could in fact, ruin fun for others by ruining a fun build for them.
On the one side we have offerings and a perk that no one uses anymore. On the other, we have ragequitting people that ruin match for 4 other players and which you're getting matched with every 2nd or 3rd game. Yep, very hard choice.

I don't think all of these things were done by the same players. A person who dies on hook may have reviewbombed sure, but I don't see the correlation to all of these things. None of these things are okay, but we truly have no real evidence these are all the same people.
The thing is, each mentioned case just shows that they became tired of the game. And the only solution here is to take a break and, thus, stop spreading negativity and ruining the game for others.

I never said you wanted to remove unhooking. I just said something in reference to the original post, as we were starting an irrelevant argument and we should've gotten back on topic. Your suggestion isn't the greatest either. My friends and I use slippery meat and luck offerings, and if we get downed fast we shouldn't be able to use our offerings / perk? Seems a little silly...
Deliverance exists for a reason. That being said, it goes without saying that if they decide to address the problem with an unhooking mechanic then they'll have to overhaul certain perks/offerings. Or maybe just start punishing players that abuse unhooking. Or both. It all depends on them.

Some people doing a thing doesn't make something normalized. Some people on this planet eat others people, and post about doing so. Is it normal for people to eat people and post about eating people? No.
I fully believe --- like cannibals --- these hook giver-uppers are the vocal minority. An unfortunate vocal minority sure, but still a minority. Referring to the original post, I don't think removing self unhooking fixes the issue, because if someone just wants to not participate, they can stand still and not participate and eventually the killer will get so bored and kill them, or they will die to bleeding out. There has to be a smarter way of doing things than lazily removing self unhooking and thinking it fixes the whole issue.
There is a punishment for a cannibalism in a normal society. Yet, in our dbd society, there is none.
I don't want them to remove unhooking. I want them to prevent unhooking at the start of the game or start punishing such individuals. This is already becoming systematic which is unhealthy for the game.

meh. i've done it like once recently because going against dredge makes me feel ill. i feel generally most people don't do it more than twice a day because it'd be a little silly to
Silliness is in their nature
Reviewbombing, wishing death to the devs over the slightest changes of their beloved perks, ragequitting, talking shEEt to the other players just because they can has already became normal or systematic for a certain part of dbd community. Negativity is all they get and share in this game and yet they bother to continue playing. Well, all I wish for them is just uninstalling and never coming back.

i definitely think normalized is pushing it. like i said in my first post, tons of these anti hook surrender threads show up on forums. it's not as widely accepted as "normalized" suggests it is.
i personally don't mind if people give up in my matches because frankly i'm too old to remotely stress out over such things. such is life and i can't let someone else ruin my match because they pressed a button a few times.
Then why more and more people are doing this? Then why are there still people that defend their right to "just leave the game without any penalties"?

"such people" is not all hook quitters / dcers. lumping in everyone into "people me no like" is unproductive and lazy.
I'm fine with DCers as far as they get punishment. But when it comes to the hook folks... The fact that they just leave after the slightest inconvenience and get no punishment just proves that they'll do it again and again, it's already in their nature.

I don't think I've disagreed with this statement.

aren't you the guy who said you played the night shift and don't have much time to play?
it truly is impeccable how you people don't see it from the other person's perspective. what if someone, who also worked the same hours as you, decided they didn't want to play through a match because they only have so much time to play and didn't want to play through an unfun match?
sure, you can argue they should eat a full dc penalty for that, and i don't even disagree, but i feel you only view it from your perspective and treat these other people like they're from the fifth layer of hell. they're players, just like you.
Please define an unfunny match because ppl that I've played with must be heckin time-travellers that knew the outcome of the game once they loaded into the game and heard the killers' lullaby.
