Looks like I'm not the only one still waiting on them.

Still haven't gotten mine and I've played Bubba since 2019.

There's no update coming today, we have not confirmed when the update will be released.
Probably should have confirmed beforehand then. We followed the algorithmic schedule of the game and some clarity beforehand is usually helpful.

I believe it will stilll be the same and forced on us to adapt to it.
If this is true, i hope at least they will give us an option to change back to the old HUD
New HUD is desperately needed. Old HUD didn't give enough info and was feeling dated anyway. I'd say just get over it and deal. It's not a big bad thing honestly. The game needs new coats of paint to keep up.

You are talking about the people sprint bursting away from the unhooked with We‘ll make it to self-care in the corner?
they are only unhooking you for the points, they don’t play this as a team game (which is a valid strategy btw.. even though pretty dumb)
Well, to be perfectly honest, it's not valid. If you leave your team to die too quickly, you automatically lose. If you let someone die before a gen is even completed, you lose. If you let 3 people die while you were doing gens, you lose. It's not a legitimate strategy, it's a losing one.
-
Aside from all of this, there's a lot of bugs associated with the killer. Perhaps priorities should be set before we focus on killers, especially ones that start out as broken as this one has.
Small edit: I shouldn't say killer, I should say DLC. Priority should be fixing the game instead of adding a broken DLC.
-
I don't know if you all have played, at all, but I have played many matches so far against this killer. There's just no way to play around it. It's all slug, tunnel, camp. That's literally what this killer does right now. And I'm red rank survivor and killer. I can't stand to play as the killer, it's too easy, and playing against them is a nightmare. If anyone knows of any way to play around it, I'd be happy to try, but I have already tried many things. Victor has no terror radius. Charlotte can block paths and camp hooks while he's away. They have HUGE slugging power and it's no fun to play against or as honestly. There needs to be serious rework done. I know people said "OMG MAKE THE KILLER STRONGER!!!" after PTB but this is insanity.
-
Also I just realized I probably put this in the wrong section but oh well...lol.
-
Thanks for the input guys! I got Adept Wraith by virtue of the people not being particularly great. I'll try to draw out games when I see the chance. :)

Ever thought that they’re at a game performance disadvantage?
Of course not, because it doesn’t effect you. Bloodlust drops our frames, our lunges as well. Also, just because you used the words “crutch” and “toxic” because things didn’t go your way, I’m going to declare this post:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/DMYOZ4MXRUUI/image.jpeg
I play on PS4, the choppy 30 frames is gruesome, but not that bad. I managed pretty fine. Just chalking this up to how people choose to play on console vs how people choose to play on PC. I'm not saying PC doesn't have its share of toxic people (it may be worse in a lot of instances) but the fact that I can't even call these people out for their BS kind of sucks for one thing. Bringing these toxic people down a few notches somehow would be nice. You just get tired of it really. I keep noticing this trend of console players being incredibly scummy and the PC killers are actually not so bad in comparison. Perhaps it is limited to my group's experience, but you all could also be underestimating console because you're used to it.
-
And we just had another console player camp and tunnel pretty hard. Wraith. Interesting games I will say. All of them have been console killers. What a bummer.

Nope. Consistently happens enough that it has been a problem for our group. You can assume all you want my dude. This has been a problem with console players. I think I prefer the PC meta.

We play fine. Console toxicity is just having an effect. That's all there is to it. No idea why people imply it's some sort of skill gap.

What a weird post.
Because they come here and moan about it lol. I've seen enough posts about it to see this. And I saw Devour Hope players on console enough to know it's some weird meta they have. The meta perk on PC is Corrupt Intervention. Not so much of a weird post really.

@Momentosis said:
Deathslinger is one of the weaker killers. Why would he be nerfed?
No, he's middle tier. Almost on par with Huntress (who can be quite good with a skilled person). But okay lol.

Also, maybe you guys should quit excusing exploitative behavior and instead encourage the developers to get on a fix for this instead of releasing more skins. Might be more fruitful. I play killer too but you'll never catch me doing this stuff.

Question, so if it is bannable, would that mean the the survivor knew about it in the first place? And if so why go up on the hill? And what if they got stuck on purpose. I saw this yesterday (The stuck part, not on purpose I think) until I came to the forums I thought he was just afk. I downed and hooked him, but had no idea
It's fine if you didn't know. I just wish the devs would fix this so it's not a problem. Hotfix please?

lol how is it a exploit? The killer cant force you to get stuck there and he dont have to free you. Its not bannable to kill you guys ######### is wrong with you?
They are taking advantage...of a glitch. What do you not understand about this? And why are you typing so furiously about it? What's wrong with YOU? Have some empathy to the situation. People getting stuck in the hill is not their fault. It IS the fault of the killer when they take advantage of the situation and hook the person, especially if they're the last one. It's an easy kill, it takes no effort, and it's not the fault of the survivor for getting stuck. What makes you think people have the time to consider that ONE point on the map while being chased or trying to avoid being chased? You are being such an ironic person. :/
-
@Demonl3y said:
How can killers take advantage of this glitch?
Sure it sucks but just because you get stuck on it, it doesnt mean the killer have to let you escape. Its not his fault + its his job to kill you guys.
Thats what i call entiltment.
They're downing the people and hooking them. It's not their fault if they didn't realize this garbage was still happening. This is not entitlement on my part. It's the killer taking advantage of an exploit, a reportable offense. Look it up. Please don't sit here and accuse the person trying to make it known that this is reportable and people should help out instead of going for an easy down. You're part of the problem.
-
THANK YOU! That's all I really wanted to know. I thought this kind of thing was eliminated a long time ago. I recall people used to get stuck on other objects as well. I hope the graphical update fixes a lot of things...might introduce some new problems but I'm more than willing to see for new eye candy whenever it comes.

Its not a big deal, if you're a good runner then tunnelling just lets you easily distract the killer away from the gen team. You know the counter to it? Coordinate (assuming SWF).
If you're not the strong runner of the team have them come and distract the killer. Or someone can fast pallet jump repeatedly to get his attention. If he keeps tunneling at least it messes with his ability to hear. Lose the killer with stealth when you break line of sight.
If you're playing random then use a LFG site to get a group together. Otherwise, play sneakier and dont get found in the first place. Lead the killer to other team mates if you just want to get the killer off of you, you're a random, why do you care about them anyways?
With SWF you can get around camping too, but I agree camping is toxic and i only do it when someone teabags mid chase. But quit heckin whining about tunnelling, take advantage of it, and get good.
I can coordinate and do whatever I can with the SWF, they're competent people and we can do well when we don't have a killer that plays like a scumlord. You get sick of repeatedly getting stuck with the bottom of the barrel killers who can't win legitimately. That's the problem here, it has nothing to do with us. I hope how soon the matchmaking is sorted out with the MMR or whatever they're gonna pull next, because switching back to the old way is clearly garbage.

@Moundshroud said:
This is a PVP game. There is nothing toxic one can do INSIDE the game as long as you aren't hacking. You play hard and to win. The Killers seek to kill as many as they can. The survivors seek to get out alive. That's it. The so-called "toxic" comes from whiners, wingers, bad sports, people who strut arrogantly when they win, and the profane. What is toxic is people like you complaining about every single thing. I've been accused of camping when I was merely on the same side of the map as the hook. I've been accused of tunneling when I hooked a different person every time. The truth is I take WHOMEVER is in front of me. That's it. The sad truth is the same sad sack I hooked the first time is usually lower quality and likely to end up in front of me again. Ideally, I prefer to grab people as they pull you off the hook. Then I can't tunnel you because you die on it with your buddies all around you. Man up. Play the game, or go back to Mine Craft.
You come off as very pompous and holier-than-thou with the way you word this. I'm gonna disregard everything you just said. It's wrong anyway. The game has toxic people, and that's how it is. Yes. But there needs to be something done about that toxicity. There are steps taken in other games to prevent that behavior. I want a solution. I play the game fine a vast majority of the time. Killer I could be better with I think but overall I'm solid. The problem is the way some people like to play. Get out of your own head for a second and take into consideration what I'm saying. "Man up" doesn't work here. You're just being insulting for no real reason. If you think being another human being who has concerns about the direction of a game is a problem, you are part of the overall problem that I am addressing.

@xGodSendDeath said:
Quit crying man, you already have DS, bodyblocking, borrowed time, adrenaline, voice comms. We'd love it if ######### was done about all that stuff but nothing ever will be
That's all easy enough to play around. The matchmaking just needs to pair people up appropriately and even with SWF it can be okay. I've defeated coordinated SWFs before. Not the problem here. The problem is people making choices to just constantly go after one person and get 32k without actually playing fairly or honestly giving effort. It's stupid. It needs to stop. I don't think addressing a legitimate issue is "crying" at all. After years of this game you'd think more people would focus on this. The fairness of this game is pretty low as it stands.
-
From my experience, they aren't. They can be pretty bad but it just ramped right up with console players.

There is a lot to call out. It's people CHOOSING to be toxic. Is it bad to call them out for playing unfairly? Stop making excuses for people.

No, not once have I ever experience this on console. A survivor could be in one spot and the next minute they are way on the other side. I'm not sure what it is but it's what I'm experiencing at the moment. Not a lot but it's there.
And I wouldn't say a lag because this seems more of teleportation.
Odd because that can happen on any platform and I have had it happen on PS4.

I'm going to say what I want to say within reason. Blood Warden is pretty scummy when paired with the rest of that. Don't tell me my words are silly when I've noticed a trend of console players doing this since yesterday. It's just an observation.

Don't sit here and make it seem like console players only run builds like that. Also, most players probably deciding to switch up their tactic since when playing against pc survivors they are jumping across your screen.
And beside, I don't see nothing wrong with that load out. The only perk from that load out that is complained about is NOED
Not sure what you mean with "jumping across your screen". If you're talking about rubber banding, that can happen on any platform. If you are referring to the mystical "hackers" that apparently flourish on PC, uh...nope. Hackers are rare even here.
-
@MrPeterPFL said:
Just had a PC Killer who ran Noed, Blood Warden and a Mori. Plus he was Freddy too.
That's fair enough, but I just don't see this level of nonsense on PC. I'm okay with cross play, but...come on. Is this some kind of weird console meta?

Hi devs and people of the fog, the worst thing finally happened to dbd in consoles, PC players now can play with consoles... Thats really really bad and i tell you guys why first the "HACKERS" and second "PC rolls 60 FPS". I know cross play can help the matchmaking be more faster and all that but to be honest with you guys i prefer wait 10 minutes to find a lobby than stay 1 minute and find some PC hackers, i say this because i had some matches when i saw some PC players using speed boost and fast healing speed. I had to turn off the cross play because i didn t have fun at all. Devs despite the bugs that it's tradition in every chapter and after some incoming patches, can you plz for love of god. Stop thinking about the cross over idea... atleast for now... Lets be honest over here a little bit devs don t have 100% control of hackers and they don t even have any protection anti-cheat in their servers yet. I know is hard to have that kind of control against PC hackers, so why risk it in consoles... It was because the matchmaking time fix ? Plz try find other solution for it... Thats all...
Thank you dbd devs and community
See you all in the fog !
I know you think PC is a haven of "hackers" but uh...hate to burst your bubble there...IT IS EXTREMELY RARE. There are mostly just toxic people who gloat in post game. I'm sure if it was allowed, console kids would probably do the same. The 60 FPS doesn't really matter much for a game like this though.

This new MMR system is garbage and everyone knows it but BHVR apparently. There's more that needs to be done to get this game to matchmake according to real skill. It's clearly not matching people appropriately. I am a rank 12-13 killer with about 800 hours in the game (mostly as survivor as my friends like to play with me) and I keep getting people who run circles around me at red ranks. They CLEARLY have the advantage as they've played thousands of hours. I don't, I don't play enough killer to be as good. How is this fair? BHVR isn't doing a good job at this. I know that when it was first implemented it meant that there would be MMR loosely based on what we had played before, but come on. I'm also getting newbie killers from rank 15-20 in most of my survivor games as a rank 3-4. It just doesn't make sense when you look at it like that. Having a hidden rating system is confusing and clearly not working.
-
It's every god damn game now.

This is the exact opposite problem I'm having, I'm currently rank 13 getting sweaty red rank survivors and it's killing my enjoyment of the game.
-
I'm getting sick of being matched against sweaty red ranks as killer. It's really ruining my fun. I don't want to go up against people who just constantly gen rush or go around slamming pallets because they have no ability to do anything else.

I play sometimes on a windows VM in linux, it's a bit laggy sometimes but its playable. I use latest vmware workstation beta.
This doesn't work for me, I have problems with my OS (Sparky Linux) finding the kernel headers. I don't feel like messing around with this and searching the deepest annals of the internet for a solution to a problem that shouldn't exist. They would have a better time just porting to Linux. EAC isn't really a barrier. There's no excuse.
-
My point was that it's not as powerful as you're making it out to be, and you really are just bitching and asserting your opinion as fact. Spinechill can't help you against a good killer. Maybe you should get better if you are playing killer. I've gone against spine chill gamers as killer and there hasn't been much problem. I lose some, win some, I'm not the best. Would never say I was. You, however, are being a hypocrite here pretending your opinion matters more than it does.
EDIT: Forgot to add, if you're really having a problem, use Whispers or Stridor for the killer equivalent. If you want to moan on about Spinechill, let's talk about those as well.
-
He's literally slow and easy to dodge/counter. If you're scared of him, you must not have played PTB. He's not that bad. People accusing him of being OP, I expected. Nothing new. He's really not though. He has a lot of utility like Doctor, though.
-
You're missing what these outfits are from entirely. They're part of the Silent Hill collection added today. I don't care if they're "immersion breaking", they're REALLY cool to see if your'e a Silent Hill fan. Guessing you aren't. Educate yourself a bit, play those fantastic games. There are a few, I recommend the first four.
-
Why would it need a nerf? High ranks don't need to use it, unless for a challenge. Low ranks use it to learn the game and get a feel for when and where the killer is coming from. Mid ranks can escape sticky situations as they're a middle-of-the-road stage and kinda still need the help sometimes. I run it and it doesn't always save me. Killers can still outplay. If you're just having bad games against spine chill gamers, just say that instead of b*tching here about nerfing the perk. I play fine against it and it doesn't entirely help me when I play with it. I'm clearly not the only one saying this either.
-
I think this could be useful, but I see the one where you can block gens being particularly more useful against Pop users. For the People has proven useful for me in clutch situations, but lots of other combos are fun to work with as wel.
-
Don't mean to revive this if it's dead but I am interested to see if I can play this game on Linux. Reading this, it seems that may not be possible currently, even with WINE. My GPU is AMD and a lot of games use OpenGL (not including DBD, I know), and I know the implementation of AMD on Windows 10 for this is pretty bad, so I am hoping this means I can overall enjoy games a bit more. It would be great if they could port the game and EAC over to Linux so that more people can access the game.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/153775/so-i-quit-games-on-occasion-recently-heres-why
That's pretty vague. What behavior are you getting fed up with, exactly?
Survivors are going to do things to make it hard for you to achieve your objectives, while trying to achieve their own objectives as quickly as possible. It's an adversarial game. Leaning on strong game mechanics to win a match should be expected. If you can't handle that, and it is getting to the point where you are disconnecting from matches, maybe you shouldn't be playing killer.
I was getting fed up with people who kept doing toxic garbage that wasn't necessary in game. They could just do what I do and run loops or stealth around the map. It's more fun and generally makes things more interesting. For me anyway. Doing toxic things to make yourself a bigger target is doofy in my views. It just makes things unfun for the opposition. Thus, when playing survivor, I don't flashlight stun and I don't really go from pallet to pallet like some people tend to do. I loop, I stealth, I enjoy myself, I give the killer a good time.
-
I disagree that there should be a penalty for that. I think there SHOULD be adjustment based on if they're together or not (like it is slightly easier to rank for the killer, for example). I think there should also be a display indicator that tells the killer who is in a group together. Perhaps BHVR will get the idea soon enough.

"This game is designed around bad survivors"
The typical must-4K-every-match-otherwise-I-go-cry-in-the-forums attitude.
More like the ones who are bad whine about perks they don't know how to work around, so the developers get to the point where they nerf the good perks and make them fairly unusable. The people who aren't the best but still pretty savvy get the short end of that deal and drags them down to lower ranks, as I have seen for myself. I don't care if I don't get a 4k every game. I just care that I'm enjoying myself. Most of my games haven't been enjoyable lately. As either side honestly.
-
I've lately faced weird connection issues as well, so that's compounding the issue. This game is fun half the time, but the other half is a nightmare of issues.
-
People are beyond strange. I had to quit out of games due to the gameplay of survivors. It's just toxic both ways. When I'm a survivor at times (more frequently lately), people give up on hook right as I get there, or they block people in, or they do some other scummy garbage. When I'm killer, they just dance around pallets while the rest of them gen rush and make it a fast...boring...game. I don't understand people.
