Complete disagreement. Noticed already way less DCs within these 2 days
Crashes occur way too less and would not lead even to a 15 min block most of the cases and even if it does, it counts for maybe 1% of all players while saving 99% of the players from lame donkey play.
If a single hit by a bug causes you to DC, or for camping and tunneling, then you are exactly the type of person that the DC penalty was made for.
And if you're so smart to throw in rejoin mechanics, maybe think a bit further and provide mechanics to avoid abusing, like DC short before hook and then rejoin.
theres this crazy new thing the kids are doing these days and it allows you to bypass the dc penalty, its called suiciding on hook

Not without sweating it to win if the killer is really weak. Which I rarely need to do unless I'm on a bad map like Ormond, Rotten Fields etc.
yea unless you get like a really bad shelter woods or smth you can win against the average team with a weak killer

Clown is actually super good at getting fast downs. IMO a good clown player is better than at least half the roster
i mean come on, wraiths power is basically useless, pig gets pointless nerf after pointless “shadow” nerf, hell I prefer clown to even the plague. In fact, I think he’s close to demo (I don’t think killers with mobility powers can be topped, period).
have you heard of this crazy thing the kids are doing now called predropping pallets.

Myers is not even a contender for worst killer in the game. I main him and do consistently well with him in red ranks.
you can do well in red ranks with any killer, i hope you realise that
-
ohh yeaahhh even after i tried to say that they should be completely abolished because they were useless and there back hell yeahh now survivors begin to suicide on hook😎
-
he needs a full rework, his power is that he injures you, thats it, thats his ability. no down potential, no snowballing, no mobility, no map pressure just thanatophobia and a dumb useless power

wondering when these post was going to happen they never going to do anything about killing them self on hook it why dc-penalty is pointless.
exactly there was no point in putting them in in the first place since you can bypass it by suiciding or going afk
-
most of her addons suck but bhvr doesnt care and they will continue with these boring addons that do nothing and have stupid requirements to activate
-
"there is an imposter among us"
-
yayyy!! now we can have them suicide on hook!

You mean reasons like getting found first or when they get downed quickly? If you're not going to play the game don't load it up in the first place.
boring players are boring players with dc penalties they will just suicide on hook

What does that have to do with what I'm saying?
because its so overwhelmingly hard to master that about 0.2% of players have done it, there are still things you can attempt against a good nurse and good nurses you can find pretty easily in pubs but if you go into scrims and comp stuff thats where they are
-
im kinda heading towards this as well, im gettin real bored playin killer and same for survivor im just losing interest and i find this new meta were in really stupid and boring im just gonna focus more on schoolwork from now on

i used to use self care

i dont know what they did but they aint fixing it

ruin, undying, tinkerer

Who hates tru? What has he done?
he influences a lot of people with the mindset of blame everything on x thing and not point out my own mistakes which causes a lot of people to never get more skilled this is something he does himself and you can see it when that video kept getting reposted everywhere of a team doing 4 gens in 3 mins and him saying it was unfair when he only got 2 hooks and stayed in one spot the whole match

Deathslinger has audio clue for aiming as well. It's a quiet metallic sound if he far from you. When he is far, you can react. Harpoon has travel time and needle size hitbox. When he is close, he will just hit you normally.
Yes, he has much better zoning potential if he catch you in the open area. But every 110 killer should compensate his movement with his power. 110 killers always have better power than 115 killers. If you nerf his power, you will make him absolute trash killer. And he is already in bad situation. Helpless on big maps. Harmless against more than one survivor.
Only Deathslinger that doesn't fail his shots is dangerous. It means player is good. But actually any good killer is dangerous. So why so much complains about good Deathslinger?
Alright, if we only talk about good players, then good Huntress player is way more dangerous. Huntress and Deathslinger are both 110 speed killers. In ideal conditions, when God Huntress catch 4 casual survivors in one open corner, they probably all gonna be injured and maybe someone downed. When God Deathslinger catch same 4 survivors in same place with same conditions, he would injure 2 of them at best. Or maybe down one. The rest survivors would run so far away while Deathslinger using and then reloading his harpoon. He physically can't do anything to threat them all.
the audio queue doesnt matter when he can ads in less than a tenth of a second, slinger has a much lower skill cap than hunty therefore you will come across more slingers that have mastered the power, people want a nerf to his chase oppression and compensation to his map mobility, he has no snowball pressure this is just how slinger is so he would need map mobility to gain pressure unlike huntress, no he is not an amazing killer and he is not op but he should be reworked
-
huntress should be tent tier, if your stocked on hatchets you can chew down a healthy survivor and the hook survivor even if they have bt

Not more than an average Deathslinger aiming. Again, a good Huntress will hit you just the same as a good Deathslinger, and due to the different hitboxes so will an average huntress compared to an average deathslinger.
The Charge Up is nothing as it all boils down to the players.
huntress has a 1s windup and an audio queue to tell you when shes readying a hatchet when slinger can ads in 0.13s and shoot a projectile 12m in the space of 0.1s, just a reminder that the world record reaction time is 0.15s
-
because slinger can ads in less than 0.13s which is not humanly possible to react to, where as huntress has a 1s windup included with an audio clue which opens opportunities for counterplay and allows the better player to prevail, you answered your own question
-
nurse, billy, spirit, huntress, oni, demo, pig, ghost face, blight, hag, leatherface, trapper
-
because the tutorial is trash
-
i would just like to be able to have no cap on survivors or killers like you could have 4 killers vs 1 survivor,
you should also be able to go into kyf by yourself so you can practice with killers like nurse or billy
-
people try to do fancy stuff with their power because regular m1 looping is actually pretty boring its when you start throwing these abilitys in there which is where the excitement comes from

That is true, sorry for that, I just picked a few people randomly who all argued it doesn't take any skill as spirit. I think I accidently included you and actually wanted to quote somebody else, so sorry, my bad. I just wanted to see the big mouths back up their talk, but they can not, amusing to see.

The speed boost at the end was nerfed significantly, the other side does have interaction it is called making a read.
Whether you think it is ridiculous or not does not matter, it is a mindgame after all, check the definition of mindgame. You do something in order to manipulate somebody in order to gain an advantage, standing still as spirit does exactly that. The irony of that is that survivors do have the exact same mindgame.
Oh no they don't! Yes they do, a short loop at a pallet, you stand still as survivor and pretend to drop the pallet. The killer either respects the pallet which leads to another loop as you again press shift + w or you see an animation triggering in which case you press space and get a stun. WOW such skill, dude! Do survivors complain about that? Yes when they have the reflexes of a dead cat and get hit through the pallet, which most of the time is their own fault.
"you do something to manipulate somebody to gain an advantage"
doing nothing isnt a mindgame your literally standing still with your hands not touching the keyboard that doesnt take skill or experience
-
damn ive just re-read this entire thread and it seems this is a touchy issue apparently so im gonna leave this
spirit does take skill but its not mechanicaly based like billy or nurse but its way too easy to learn for someone who is as strong as spirit, its the same issue with freddy in a way. where its too much benefit for such a low skill cap
-
so keep crossplay off, confused why you made a thread about this
-
he never was broken but unfun to go against. he's honestly not that great of a killer but just kinda cheap
-
oni is literally the buffed version of myers, when he has his power he is a snowball machine and wrecks through almost any loop in the game, where with myers you basically just have to catch them in deadzones and you will almost never catch good players at loops
-
grow thicker skin dont get annoyed by toxicity i havent read the whole post but from the title i guess your annoyed by toxic players just dont let it get to you its just a game
-
i only ever found fun in survivor with a swf using meme builds but its not for everyone
-
immersion is boring for both sides smh

So this conversation turned into a discussion on Decisive Strike, and only Decisive Strike.
Survivors are op and devs only listen to them because one perk that keeps killer from tunneling them out of the game I guess?
many people want ds reworked not because of the anti tunnel aspect but when they get ds'd when their not tunneling someone which is where the frustration occurs, i don t believe the devs have any bias i think they need better priorities than minor perk changes and such
-
everyone has this perception that if something one side gets nerfed or buffed the devs must also do something to the other side and give them a nerf or a buff and this mindset is plaguing dbd rn

higher level than what? i have no problem stay at rank 1 even with old doc or deathslinger..
were not talking red ranks with mmr ranks are basically useless were talking tournament level kind of play were players scrap all unspoken rules and will do whatever it takes to win
-

not spirit and nurse are the only viable killers.. but i really hope if i can kill all of them in 5 minutes my MMR gonna go higher.. no point to hook everyone 2 times and chase for x minutes and damage generators and things like these.. if i can win in 5 minutes then my MMR is way higher than the survivors
in the very high levels of mmr as in the top 1% you would only ever verse death squads and spirit and nurse because their the only players/killers that are strong enough to reach that high of an mmr

lol okay, just deal with how billy is. hes perfectly fine to play as and has many more improvements. i guess you should just get better? because i can curve fine with base billy and your post is a wall of text with very little meaning tbh, i tried explaining and being polite of how billy isnt that different, if you cant discuss or try to understand then you will have to hold your piece or learn him more and get better. thats all there is to it mate
he is literally ruined, he is still viable but so irritating and annoying to play as his mechanics feel clunky compared to the old billy, and his new addons are god awful and uncreative and i dont get how devs let them into the live servers
-
@EntitySpawn said:
i mean billy hasnt changed much at all, the only change is you dont get add-ons to reduce your chainsaw charge speed and thats all people ever used. i play billy a fair bit and he really isnt bad at all, same place as always except his add-ons are more interesting. now during the ptb it was rough but the increase how long he can chainsaw/rev and how fast it regens so its perfectly fine even at rank 1. he always was a middle of the road killer and that hasnt changed, you just cant reply on insta saw to get downs all the time now.
really he hasnt changed much? tell that to his addons...
-
bring bond to find team mates or play in a 4 stack
-
@LaUry said:
why wouldn't it work? Devs just have to implement properly that's all..
even a perfect mmr system wouldnt be good for dbd since good killers would only verse sweat squads and good survivors would only verse spirit and nurse and all variety from the game would be pretty much gone
-
are you saying faking a pallet drop is too op, just call their bluff and dont respect the pallet

As a game designer, an active modern fps player, and after having a sizable amount of experience on Deathslinger, I think I have some good insight for this topic.
Deathslinger does have a small delay before the shot goes off when quickscoping. Unless it's close in range you have to lead. Dodging in and off itself isn't hard when moving back and forth near corners because of the hit reg with the servers and these delays at mid/long range. In fact, it is very hard to hit a player that does this.
The fake shots are pretty strong, perhaps too strong and very necessary to rely upon due to the current deathslinger/survivor interaction and game balance.
For the people saying play an FPS without a gun, try to dodge and see if you have fun.
It's actually pretty fun in 2 modern fps games. Overwatch and Apex Legends.
It is very easy to dodge at medium/long range in Apex Legends because of the travel time of bullets. The movement system also allows sliding, jumping and climbing. Some characters also have some movement abilities. Regularly in that game you have to abandon fighting when you are outnumbered or out positioned. Dodging and getting to a desirable location does take skill for sure, and it is very fun/intense when you are trying to save your team.
In Overwatch, there is no movement acceleration meaning you can change directions very quickly, pretty similar to dead by daylight, but the overall movement and strafing speed is faster. People call it AD spamming and then you throw in random quick crouches. It makes it very hard to hit targets doing this even if you are good at aiming, especially if you are using a gun like Deathslingers that has a long time time period between each shot. Automatic guns function a bit differently. Furthermore, dodging as the heroes Lucio, Tracer and Mercy with her ultimate is extremely fun and super easy to do.
Game engine movement style, movement abilities, direction changing acceleration and the rounds per minute/projectile speed of the gun at hand are the variables that determine whether dodging against a shooter is fun, skill based or even possible.
With that being said, if survivors had more movement abilities at their disposal it would make things more fun imo. It is frustrating for survivors currently because their tools are line of sight and trying to predict a quick scope. And if they are not immediately right near an object or wall, the Deathslinger can continually fake shots and there is not much they can do. It doesn't feel very interactive, or at least the interaction is not fun. I think it boils down to poor overall design between current Deathslinger's gun functionality and survivor capabilities.
The frustrating thing about playing Deathslinger is the unreliability of how his projectile functions. Besides intended mechanics such as distance, I think the server/lag changes the accuracy of the gun in any given game against any given survivor. It is not fun to miss when you feel like you perfectly led/timed a shot. It occurs pretty regularly that I have no idea why the shot didn't land.
Perhaps a hitscan weapon and more mobility options for the survivors would make it better for both sides. since the projectile weapon is not very functional with the current netcode that exists and the survivors don't have any fun options to dodge the bullets.
yes exciting to dodge because of travel time, the travel time of 0.13s which is unreactable and inhumanly possible to dodge without being a plain guess, makes sense
-
i remember back in like 2017 i was new to killer and the game in general and it was my first time versing a swf and i got ######### on so bad, got like two downs before they got 5 gens
-
uhhh, how?

bhvr: puts in dc penalties to stop rage quits
survivors: suicide on hook
