It's because it's easier to post on forums complaining or watch youtubers/streamers than it is to try and learn and adapt. Many people don't like having to change. Spirit has lots of counters that people refuse to do. Not to mention one of her strongest counters is literally already a hard meta perk that's ran by almost everyone anyway.
"Hard counter" Are we going to pretend that every Spirit doesn't run Stridor?

May I ask, just out of sheer curiosity and wanting to understand your POV why she is deemed unfun to you?
There's a great Scott Jund video where he goes over what can make a killer unfun to play against.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h10-JuLwEU
She negates any skill a survivor has gotten over the course of their playtime and just boils down to a 50/50 at every pallet waiting for the survivor to either start leaving or stay around the dropped pallet. Both lead to hits 9 times out of 10. It's the same reason people find Freddy, Clown, and Deathslinger to be unfun to play against.
All she needs to have changed is to actually have a visible change for when she starts phasing.
-
Imagine thinking people have just now started complaining about Spirit. She needs a nerf and it has nothing to do with Billy getting a nerf. Chill.

STBFL and PWYF are two of the most used perks in the game. I don't know what world you're living in where those are bad. His best builds don't really use his base perks though. You just need to unlock the good ones. Infectious and bamboozle are both very good on Myers and help you snowball like a madman.
-
I don't know why you ever thought it would be a good idea to trust a Myers lol

So this just happens if the killer doesnt have the same skill as the survivors. Thats not a gen rush, thats still just a bad killer.
I wouldn’t say it’s skill. I think there are plenty of killers where you could be on the same skill level and get bullied just because the killer itself is weak. Personally I don’t struggle with “gen rushing” I rarely see it. Ghostface is a terror with the right build for people that like to stick into gens.
-
Guys, tunneling doesn’t exist. If you’re not able to run the killer the whole game without getting downed and hooked 3 times you’re just bad.
Guys, face camping doesn’t exist. If you can’t coordinate a rescue from basement with 2 other solos while Bubba is revving his chainsaw in your friends face you’re just bad. Especially if you get hit with NOED after because you sped through gens during the camping.
-
Hard pass.

Change your mind.

I don't play her because I think she's extremely gross lmao

I saw someone suggest something that I thought was pretty good before, which was the Devs make it so gens repair speed is increased while a killer is within 5 to 10 feet of the hooked survivor and/or give the survivors double BP for as long as the killer is facecamping.
So, two people get to stick to gens and pop them if the third survivor decides to run the killer around the hook. There would have to be more parameters other than just distance.

Y'all acting like this does anything to help, though, and it doesn't.
I'm sayin something has to be implemented to deter camping. Feeding or not feeding the camper doesn't matter at this point because one or the other doesn't stop them.
What are they going to implement that does punish killers who don’t camp though?

Exactly. He may be the weakest killer in the game. He has a lot of gimmick builds that are fun to play, but none of them are OP.
If you think Daddy Micheal is anywhere close to being the weakest killer in the game you're insane.

It varies. Sometimes its taken out instantly like most killers dread but it USUALLY gets some value first. The last game I had with Myers I was using the double stalk addon build on family residence and it didnt get taken out til 1 survivor was already dead. By that point, I already had the game basically in the bag anyway and they only ended up doing 2 gens total by the time they all were dead. I also like using it on Legion and it can be SUPER handy with catching survivors out of position who are injured.
I might try the combo sometime then. I mean a lot of the time with Myers gens can be kinda neglected. You just get one good snowball in the match and it ends the trial. I think even the most op of Myers addons are balanced. It just hurts my soul to equip an iri. That's if I even buy one.

Depends on the addons. Myer's addons offer drastically different play-styles, so the perks are all very different as well.

This last build is my generalized one when I feel like using stuff like stalk addons, mirror shard, dead rabbit, ect
How much use on average do you feel you get out of the ruin/surveillance combo? Do you have a lot of games where it isn't just instantly taken out? I know it's super good when it doesn't get taken out early, but I've never been able to bring myself to bring a hex perk. I just know how much I'd hate to start the game and just see my totem sitting out in the open or by a gen.
I tend to not run ultra rares just because I'm stingy for no reason at all. I run the basic addons. I've always said it's a shame more killers don't have addons like Myers. They're mooostly balanced and can change his playstyle.

You can re-vault the window to reapply bamboozle. I've actually seen a video when the map was first released of someone doing that very thing. They had all 4 survivors hiding in there so they went in, started smacking em around and re-vaulted the window to make sure bamboozle didnt end too early.
While it MIGHT be true that its more common for the perk to be used on Myers (I dont use it on him personally...) that still doesnt mean Myers is better because of this scenario, just that bamboozle is handy for this scenario.
Well, I wouldn't call the post nonsensical when the perk is a highly recommended and used perk by Myers players. I'd be hard pressed to think of another killer that uses bamboozle in as deadly of a way as Myers. I could change the thread to "Bamboozle is an S tier perk..." but I don't see a reason as it barely sees use outside of Myers.
Obviously everyone can get great use of bamboozle if the survivors are stupid enough to funnel into the room.
What build do you fancy on Myers? I currently run bamboozle and infectious fright for chases and snowballing and then the obvious corrupt for the start of the game stalk and then pop for slowdown.

Not really. If bamboozle is in play anyway, instadowns arnt needed. You could do this trick with ANY killer.
I personally don't see many other killers run bamboozle. It tends to be a perk people recommend for Myers because of his already faster vault speed. That's why I said Myers because that's probably who it would happen most with. Bamboozle is underrated.
Also, instadowns could come into play. If I fully healed survivor jumped in and healed it would take 3 hits to slug them all again. If you can instadown it comes down to 2. No chances of the bamboozle effect dissipating.

Bubba might be better
Omg it would be amazing with Bubba. I don't see many Bubba players use bamboozle though. They tend to run play with your food and nemesis for chases. I'd love to see a bubba revving in the room around 4 slugs though lol
-
@LordGlint said:
Thats in no way a Myers trick though. Any killer with bamboozle can do that.
But Myers is the king of bamboozle.

Because it's a second chance perk and they feel as if they were cheated out of their sacrifice/escape.

I think tokens would be harsh. A No Mither user ONLY has Dead Hard to avoid a first hit. But I would agree that the numbers for exhaustion recovery could be looked at.
Who is unironically running no mither? Other than people going for adept obviously

The Majority of Survivor Perks are not worth running. Killers have abilities they can at least go for Perks they can use with their Killer. e.g. Enduring makes sense on M1-Killers, but not on Spirit. Stridor is a Perk which is not really useful on most Killers, but super-strong on Spirit. Nemesis works on Bubba.
So its usually unlikely that you get to see the same Perks on every Killer.
But for Survivors, they are only Skins and the number of good Perks is really limited. Since the BL-Nerf, the number of actually useful Exhaustion Perks is 2 - Dead Hard and Sprint Burst (I dont count Adrenaline as Exhaustion Perk and Head On is more gimmicky than useful). Nerf Dead Hard and there is only Sprint Burst. Yay, less variety.
Also, Head On can be amazing if you use it properly. Locker builds exist. Inner Strength + Head On. A build that also rewards doing totems. No more NOED procs.

There are plenty of good perk builds for survivors that stray from the meta. Just because you don't want to experiment doesn't mean other options aren't there for you. I personally don't care that most survivors tend to run mostly second chance perks because they aren't all that hard to play around and it makes sense to use them, but don't pretend that there's literally no other choice just because survivors are skins lol
-
Sprint burst requires you to crouch walk everywhere if you want use. I think both perks are fine though.
-
It's fair when it comes to a normal game. The only time it's unfair is when the killer facecamps because it requires solo players to be EXTREMELY time efficient. Perk is mostly fine though.
-
BBQ isn't even all that good. You'll get 10x more info from Thrilling. People forget that the only reason people really run BBQ is for double bp every game
-
The game is unbalanced in a plethora of ways that make it lean into either sides direction depending on the circumstance.
-
Nah, if they opened the gates good for them. Plenty of killers tease after hooking the last survivor or during the game if they're just completely dominating.

I'm gonna recognize this is a tier list only based your experience and ignore the disrespect you have given James.

I dont thinks its fair to have to bring a singualr perk to solve a problem that is built into the game. Just like killers shouldnt have had to use Ruin before it got nerfed to make games last longer than a second, survivors shouldnt have to bring a perk to be able to play without crawling on the ground like worms for the whole match.
I think it's completely fair to ask one of four survivors to run a perk to counter a certain playstyle. Slugging to the extent where someone just crawls around the whole match doesn't happen often enough to warrant punishing other killers slugging one person for pressure.

What a riveting argument.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1421838#Comment_1421838
This is such a logical fallacy that it isn't even funny.
All of those things in the game can be played around. Voice chat groups of friends are just not fun to play against, no matter what you use against them
I don't need to make an argument for something that has been argued for maybe half of this sites threads. They aren't going to let you see who's a swf outside just checking profiles. If they did a very small percentage of killers would play the swf games which is going to increase queue times. I'm sorry you're gonna have to just get better at game until it's balanced. Which will be never. Not all SWFS are swat death squads and they aren't all that hard to beat. As a killer main I don't think they should punish people for playing with their friends. They just need to buff solos to have equivalent info to swfs and then buff killers accordingly. There is 0 reason for needing to know who is and who isn't a swf just so you can dodge because you're scared.

Id argue that it would indeed be powerful because its already powerful and its only used once as is. I dont know how to balance DS its a strong perk and will always be a strong perk. my only suggestion for it is that it should deactivate if a killer hooks someone else.
I was joking lol. I don't think survivors should be able to pick themselves up. The only time I'd see it being balanced is maybe having 1 person be able to pick themselves up if everyone else is also slugged, but odds are at least 1 of the 4 people have unbreakable.

Some are, but i'll guarantee you this nerf hits in more ways than just backrevving. You can play one pallet per chase, you cant zone effectively, fakerev a dropped pallet to force reactions, fakerev to prevent window vaults. You have to be so limited in your revs.... We will see how it plays out, but 28 seconds cooldown sounds ridiculous
I'm going to wait until the PTB to make up my mind. I'm sure it will be tweaked after the PTB and everyone has actually gotten their hands on it.
-
@MongolPSR said:

Again they only get it once, they have to think if its the right time to use or if they should wait for another survivor or just take the hook. it takes a decent amount of time for someone to fully recover. you can stop it by just hooking them, it is a binary choice on the killers part.
DS should be base kit. They'd only get it once so it's not even that powerful.

Wanna bet? I considered it a slight nerf until i saw the numbers. 28s cooldown, while 1/3 of the bar is eaten just for activating it. That will drop him out of toptier for sure. Rip sweet prince
I think people are overreacting personally. I think the only thing this mechanic is gonna hurt is back revving which definitely doesn't ruin Billy.

'Slight nerf', yet he has a good 30 seconds before he can use his skill again.
On a Killer who uses his skill to traverse the map.
It's the Nurse all over again; gut his power while forgetting that it does something other than kill, then walk away, since Survivor mains are content with the overwhelming nerf hammer.
Yeah, they definitely gutted nurse who is still the best killer in the game with no counter play if the killer is actually skilled with her. From what I saw you can avoid overheating most of the time unless you're constantly back revving.
-
No
-
People getting this upset about billy getting a slight nerf after all this time is funny to me. Like keep pretending he isn't gonna still be A tier after getting a cooldown that you could probably avoid ever activating.
-
Myers. He's getting very dated and with the state of the game and how important the start of the trial is being crippled at the start sucks for any killer. Also, any decent survivors that know how to starve him of stalk turn him into a basic m1 killer that has a smaller terror radius.
-
@FreakPrince said:
Spirit and Nurse merged together.
Oni is just Myers and Billy mixed together. Could be neat if done right
-
It kind of sounds like a reverse bloodlust for survivors. If you're in a chase for X seconds you get a skill check and slowdown if you fail.
-
Oh, now all the Billy mains are gonna come out of the woodwork because they can't "mindgame" a pallet and got a cooldown. Let's not pretend he's gonna be anything less than A tier even after this nerf.
-
Man is whole ass gonna quit the game because BHVR wants to appeal to more of it's audience. Kinda hope they add an anime killer now lmao
