Why do you keep thinking I’m saying you need to 4k to win as killer? If anything I tend to think the player with the highest bloodscore is a much better indicator of the actual winner of the match. Bloodscores are based strictly on what happens in the match and don’t change based on artificial ranks outside the match, they’re way more consistent than pips. Or alternatively, I tend to go with 3-4 kills is a killer win, 0-1 kills is a loss and 2 kills is a close game with the highest bloodpoint score being the tie breaker.
Pips were not added to indicate a winner, they were added to replace how the game matches you against opponents. Brutal Killer means “maybe you won, maybe you lost, but either way we’re going to keep matching you against the same opponents”. Like I said, you can’t even declare a winner with pips since both sides can gain them simultaneously.
Sorry 🤷♂️
You know bloodscore and pips are directly linked? Right? If you get 28-32k bp you get merciless. You’re one of few who think whoever got the most blood points out of the five is the winner of the match. You can disagree and say what you personally believe Indicates a win, but pips are what dictate a win or not. You aren’t going to lose and rank up. You aren’t going to win and rank down. The more pips you have the more bp you’ll have.
Sorry 🤷♂️

Sorry but you’re wrong. The game giving you a pip is not the game saying “you won” any more than the game not giving you a pip means the game is saying “you didn’t win”. Like I said, whether you win or lose a match, by any reasonable standard, is measured by what happened in the match. But pips are measured based on your ranks outside the match itself. Pips are a matchmaking tool.
Or Think of it this way, it’s possible for both the killer and most of the survivors to gain pips. It’s even possible I think for every player to gain a pip if everybody got hooked twice and it was a long match with a lot of chases and gen work back and forth and rescues. But obviously they didn’t all “win” the match. Either the killer or the survivors won, not both.
Pips measure mainly how active you were in the match and go up or down in large part based on whether th game thinks you can handle tougher opponents or should be paired against weaker ones. That’s all they do. Sorry guy. 🤷♂️
Why would you get a pip to rank up... If you lost? Devs implemented pips to measure how well you did. The reliability of it doesn’t matter. Survivors also pipping doesn’t mean you didn’t win. Survivors don’t have to escape to win. Killers don’t have to 4k to win. Pips were added to measure how well you play the game in the ways the devs want you to play it. That means if you pip you won. You move up in ranks. Sorry guy. 🤷♂️

No, pips have nothing to do with “winning”. They’re an incredibly inconsistent measure of winning a match in fact. You can have literally identical matches against identical survivors with all the same events and kills and escapes and times but if you are currently Rank 10 you gain a pip and if you are rank 2 you lose a pip or gain no pip. It’s as if you played a game of tennis but after the game was over they asked you if you were Varsity or Professional before telling you if you won.
Gaining a pip isn’t winning, it’s the game saying it thinks it is matching you against opponents that aren’t as good as you are. That’s all it means. Brutal Killer just means the game thinks you and your opponents were a close match.
If you pip you won. That’s how the game measures how well you did. If you want a 4k to be your measurement go for it, but pips are what measure if you won or not. Sorry my guy.
-
The goal is to get as high of a score as you possibly can. If you decide a 4k is a win for you that’s your prerogative, but the game considers wins pipping. Brutal killer is neutral. You didn’t do good, but you didn’t do bad enough score wise to take pips from you.
-
Depends on the killer really.

As a Clown main I absolutely have to. I ideally try to go for a one on the ground, one on the hook, one in a chase approach. It drastically slows the gens down.
Oh, there are killers that have to use every single part of the game they can to win. Clown is definitely one. I meant there are killers whose power revolves around it specifically.

A strong team might not give a killer a choice.
Theoretical scenario: killer only manages their very first down after 3 gens have already been repaired, and is really feeling the pressure. They notice new scratchmarks and immediately investigate. It’s someone hoping to flashlight save. Killer downs them. Returns to first slug but catches someone else trying to revive them. Killer reaches them before the dying survivor can get on their feet, chases the survivor attempting to heal, downs them. Killer again tries to return to the first downed survivor but then notices the fourth survivor doing a desperate run to the survivor downed with the flashlight. Again killer chases to intervene, because the last thing the killer wants is the flashlight holder revived with other slugs to hook. Killer managed to successfully down 4th survivor before they’ve managed to help anyone up.
Sometimes the killer is not being in anyway toxic. Sometimes the game plays out in such a way where new chase opportunities present themselves in quick succession to a killer sensibly paying attention to environmental queues. Opportunities that would be foolish to ignore.
I agree with slugging being perfectly fine. There are killers who’s whole play style is basically slugging. Oni and Myers are obvious. I’d say Myers HAS to slug in every game. With how his power works fishing for a snowball and ending the game in one Evil Within is best case scenario. I just think it’s definitely more boring all around than an actual game with hooks being in play.

Boring compared to how wonderfully interactive hanging on a hook is?
You hang on a hook periodically and usually for a small portion of time. If you just slug all 4 and never hook you’re forcing them to wait out the bleed out timer. I’d definitely say one is more boring.

You’re just as bad as killers crying about teabagging. It’s a game and you’ll be ok. I promise.

Good see everyone still loving the perfect killer Ghostface ☺️

I would just laugh at them tbh

Wraith is the golden child of addon reliant killers. Ghostface studied under him before he was released.

I don't think anyone has ever made a post about this. Congrats for having this completely original thought. You should be on the balancing team fs

So you have no evidence? Nice.
Bro he's giving you his anecdotal experience which is all any of us have to go off of. There aren't numbers. Unless BHVR is keeping track of bans and playtime of each respective side. Literally none of us know what the ratio of toxic players is. We can only make guesses taking into account personal experience and how often a particular side is encountered. You're arguing about nothing lmao
-
If you play killer more than survivor you're seeing 4 different survivors a match. If you main survivor you're seeing 3x the amount of survivors per game than killer. I can only imagine why people see more survivors being toxic than killers.

No one can tell you what to do though lmao

Killers complain about DS+Unbreakable but have the Audacity to leave you slugged for their 4k.
I don't complain about DS+Unbreakable. I rarely get hit with a DS and if I slug for the 4k I've already won so I have no issue with you using your Unbreakable to hop up and prolong the game for a few minutes. Problem is if they have DS+Unbreakable they've likely already popped up with unbreakable because they got slugged earlier in the game.

Thanatophobia: We remove a big part of the perk for 1%!
We're gonna live forever: We say we give them new ways to get tokens but we lie
Pop: Nerf that perk who killers need who don't want to get genrushed.
Desisive strike: Why should we change a perk who makes a survivor 1 minute invincible?
And so so many more things
The whole point of Thana is to incentivize healing. Don't complain because you use it wrong lol

- They don’t have 100,000+ people JUST to monitor twitter, facebook, forums, email, and god knows where else players are “cry cry cry, whine whine whine”
- What people they DO have available are NOT expected to be “on call” 24/7. They’re community/social media managers, NOT paramedics!
- stop being entitled. If they get to your request, they’ll get to your request.
This is big facts. This guy almost never misses.

Well im Native American and i would love to see it. Honestly i doubt any Natives would be offend by it.
I agree if they did it right Natives wouldn't care and it would only be performance activists that whine. I just think it would be tough for them to do well though. That was my main point about them maybe not taking the risk. Next killer is a licensed one though I think.

Why tho? I didnt see any Asian people offend by Spirit or Oni. So why would the be offend by An Native american killer?
Do I need to go into detail about how portraying Native Americans in a generalizing light would be worse than using a common trope that is already used in Asian cultures. Spirit is based on Onryō and Oni is just a vengeful samurai. They don't perpetuate anything negative or culturally insensitive. They could do it right, but I'm saying the odds are they wouldn't and people who are more culturally sensitive and Natives themselves might not approve of it. There aren't many horror themes you could take from Native culture to turn into a killer. There's skinwalkers. That's all that comes to mind for me. I'm not saying don't do it. I personally wouldn't care, but there would be people that would and BHVR would likely get backlash if they handled it poorly.
-
People would just get offended. Doubt it'll happen with the how sensitive some people are about the topic.
-
Just play the game and you'll hit rank 1 again in an few hours lol
-
Every perk build that doesn't have pop or corrupt would have pop or corrupt. Everyone would just get sweatier on both sides. Iron Will/Unbreakable/DS/Dead Hard would probably be popular on survivor. It would be more of the same.
-
Otz making a document with what he would change doesn’t mean he’s done more than any Dev and he’d tell you that himself. Also, most of his changes have been talked about for a long time and some of them aren’t very good.
-
Silver mask, Sodden Shroud, and the First Blade. I think the shroud is the stealthiest. It’s dark, but not pitch black like the og robes. I kind of just assume the silver mask is stealthier than white and reflects the dark maps. The first blade is just the best looking knife imo.

You making no sense whatsoever with your logic. Your logic: hammering nails not skillful, therefore building a house that requires hammering nails not skillful. That's just dumb.
And LOL at your "win that didn't require skill to acquire". Than everyone can easily 4k at rank 1 all the time as long as they tunnel? LOL :D:D:D Watch Hexy's tournament and tell me how it worked out for best killers in the world playing only strongest killers. Hint: not so good. Yeah, and they were tryharding for $10k prize.
You’re comparing things that aren’t comparable. I said if you won a game by just tunneling it didn’t take skill to win. You went against bad survivors. Building a house and killing a team in DBD aren’t comparable. If you simple smacked everyone off hook over and over and got a 4k you didn’t do anything that requires skill. Therefore the win wasn’t skillful. I know you think you’re this amazing thinker and are right, but you’re not.

Nope. You got yourself confused. The topic was not about tunneling being skill based. It was about *winning*, that is 4k, while tunneling is still skillful. Here is original quote from first post that I replied to: "don't brag and think your really good because you tunneled a 4k."
So it's not about tunneling. It's about tunneling to a 4k. Huge difference. Tunnel to 1k and I will not call it skillful.
Edit: " No one said it doesn't take skill to win lmao" - that's literally what OP post said and what I replied to. He said that winning takes no skill if you tunneled.
If you got a 4k from only tunneling you aren’t skillful. I mean literally that’s all you did. Got a hook tunneled them and then repeated with the rest. You went against a bad team. Winning doesn’t inherently mean skill was needed. If we agree the act of tunneling itself isn’t skillful then a win where you only tunneled was a win that didn’t require skill to acquire. If tunneling a 1k isn’t skillful neither is tunneling a 4k lol

No one claimed that tunneling takes skill. Winning does. It doesn't matter what how you win.
That's like saying that building a house doesn't take skill because you used a tool that doesn't require skill, such as hammer. While using hammer perhaps doesn't require skill, knowing how, when and where to apply it to build a house does.
You're the one bringing up points that have nothing to do with the topic. The main topic is that tunneling isn't skill based and it isn't. No one said it doesn't take skill to win lmao

By definition, ability to win in game, by any means necessary is skill. If you win, you are playing well. If you are playing well, than that's literally definition of the word.
noun
- the ability to do something well; expertise
That doesn't mean it takes skill to use certain tools that led to that victory. Tunneling is a tool killers can use that doesn't require skill. You can't compare the win itself to a single tool that could have been used in conjunction with others to win. So, it's not a skill lmao
-
You utterly ruined him lmao
-
It's not a skill, but it is a strategy. It's a strategy that fails you if you use it wrong. If you actually tunnel someone you're wasting time and not pressuring anyone else off gens. You'll be hitting BTs and take at least one DS. By the time the chases are over and you've tunneled the one person out a majority of the gens would have popped if not all.
-
My dad. I’d be blown away if he came back.
-
They'd hear Ghostface sigh and then chase someone like a Scooby-Doo villain and invest immediately.
-
They didn't even nerf Thana. They made the gen slowdown even better. The Thana+Sloppy combo is better in some cases now.
-
No Mither and OoO. That's it.
-
Can we get Haddonfield fixed first. I wanna bash my head into a wall whenever I have to play that map.
-
The devs definitely missed the point of the power of the killer they created from scratch. You probably know more than them about how they wanted it to be used.

Aren't Pigs notorious tunnelers tho?
