yes, so what do I do if the person who has DS goes for a unhook, I grab them and get DSed?
JuSt DoN't TuNnEl 4head
Hit them instead and leave them on the ground. Wait for them to poo up from unbreakable and slug them again. At this point it should be safe to pick them up and hang them.
I'm not a fan of camping or slugging, but when they act like idiots, make them pay.

Matches finish too fast now, SWF kills red rank killers.
Even increasing gen times by 15 seconds each would be decent
How about something a little more balanced than a flat out increase.since you brought up SWF as a portion of your arguement, how about + 5 seconds per SWF member? This way your not outright punishing non SWF players. This would then add 10 to 20 seconds accordingly.

You threading to DC shows that you’re the entitled one. When killers other than Spirit, Hag, Freddy and Billy have no map pressure, what are they supposed to do? Slugging forces survivors off of gens to go help their teammates.
It’s not like Killers have many options to slow the game down, and not many people want to play a 5 minute match. Should killers just start DCing when 3 gens pop before they could even get through a chase?
Do survivors consider how the killer feels when they play? The answer is a Big fat NO, so don’t expect anyone to consider your fun.
When I get a player like you who DCs because they can’t handle the game not playing out how they like, I just troll/meme around with the rest of the team. It’s more enjoyable than trying to please your type.

So, wanna point out, where author said he ever used bleeding out or something like that? You assumed that because he used strong wording and that's about it. But I know for the fact that people DC instantly if they was downed FIRST with deliverance, or right after missing DS, or even when they face a killer they don't like. I even had a case of people DCing because their bluff of having DS didn't work when they jumped into a locker. None of those things are connected to "pathetic playstyles".
I never said he specifically used those playstyles either, I simply used them as examples. While your complaining about survivor doctor stupid reasons, yes killers dc too. They dc for being stunned by 3 pallets, for not wanting to chase around a jungle gym, for being blinded/ds'd/blocked from hooking. That must make them entitled by your standards as well.
I say the game should be fun for all, and yes, I do want the killer to have fun too. You say the game should be fun for you and don't care about the survivors. That alone shows how entitled you really think you are. You feel I should stay in game just so you can still gave fun while the rest of us suffer through it, just so you can be satisfied. Grow a pair and take the challenging route, instead of the easy one. It's more rewarding for all.

Can't argue with insult opener, but considering enjoyment... With killer quests like "have 4 survivors in the basement at the same time while at EGC" people should realize that there is nothing that can be considered "pathetic playstyle". This phrase alone shows, how entitled you should be. Especially with current killer que problem. People with position like yours don't help this situation. Because somebody have to wait 10-15 minutes for a match and it turns into a pumpkin at the first minute because some special snowflake doesn't like when killer (has to) play rough.
My position is quite simple, everyone should be able to have fun. It's not entitled, and I don't care if I get out. Hell, hooking all 4 during each is unusual and anyone with half a brain can see that it's not a killer being a douche. But I haven't seen anything that says slug all for players and let them bleed out. Nor have I ever seen anything that says hook and kill each survivor before hooking another survivor. They also dont have anything that says hook a survivor then prevent others from unhooking them. In fact in each of these cases, the game punishes you by not awarding points for these things, you dont get points for bleed out, you lose out on chase points when you stay on the same person, you lose out on pointswjen you only hook the survivor once. In all these cases the developers realized the game should be fun for all, and these type of behavior shouldn't be rewarded. Yet killers who still do this, show they are truly entitled.
So if you want to play this way, then I'll dc because you make the game boring, then have my fun after in chat. You had fun at my expense during the game, I'll have fun at your expense after.

Killer is not OP and anyone that thinks so most likely just bad at this game. Survivors are op and face it. 5 mans easily can win every single game they play. One can distract while others gen rush. Its op
I'd hate going against a 5 man squad. 1 to chase, 4 on different gens, that game would be over in 3 minutes...

I've played this game a lot and have never even gotten purple ranks, so how do people who dc against better skilled killers get red ranks?
You dont. It's not better skilled killers that red ranks dc against, it's play styles. Fortunately, there are more good, actually skilled killers out there to play against than those who think they are. There are plenty of killers who, win or lose, you just enjoy playing against. But you know what they say about a few bad apples...

@HYthinger said:
Well maybe it wasnt ruins fault that survivors suck. maybe its just the bad rank system giving every survivor a participation award and giving everyone rank 1. And than this kinda stuff happens....
And the best thing about it??? i got deranked for them rather disconecting than losing to a player playing better than them (both dc'd after i downed em once in about 20 seconds).
You know why they are so entitled ? Because they know that they shouldnt go down that fast against a m1 killer. But i guess u can just dc if you dont have skill lol.
Insted of thinking about why 80% of red ranks use ruin or ds. how about thinking about why clearly bad / new players are in red ranks. So many times when i play killer i see some claudette urban evasion behind a tree while i chase here team mate. And after the match i get blamed for being toxic and not nice even tough they shuld blame ther team mates for playing like rank 15s on rank 1.
tl;dr pls finaly rework the rank system. im sick of playing against or with potatoes that just dc when the match doesnt run the way they want. It also rly sucks for the 2 survivors that didnt dc because they probably had a 10 minute q just for a 1 minute game.
Like it or not, the whole mentality that some killers have of "play as you want" shows you only care about your own enjoyment and not weather or not all are enjoying the game. This is a horror/thriller game where as the survivor, you are expecting the killer to kill, sure. But actions like camping, killing, slugging just aren't thrilling and/or fun.
Additionally, the constant insults in your post are a sure fire way to make the dev's just not care about what you have to say.

Infinite T3 Myers takes stalking all 4 survivors nearly dry. So yeah, it's kind of that teams fault if they get there.
It does take more, but not all 4. It can be gotten in under 3 stalked. Yes, I do have Myers, I have used it, on my 2nd time playing him, no it was not hard.

@thrawn3054 said:
Literally nobody is asking for a Myers nerf. It's not alot of fun facing infinite T3 Myers. But honestly it's that teams fault he got there.
That is a joke right? I've never been in a match where a Myers hasn't been able to tank up to T3, excluding those designed not to rank. His stalk ran as a good distance and he can rank to 2 pretty fast, often before he is spotted because of no terror radius T1. I bet the salt didn't come from him playing Myers, but how he played him. Killers keep saying "play as you want." But realize when you ppl play like a scum, making it boring by tunneling, slugging, camping, you'll be treated as such after. You had fun during the match, but I didn't, I'll have fun after the match making fun of you, then watch you complain on the boards about it.

The problem seems to be you play by their rules you won't win playing the game they want you slug , camp and tunnel survivors don't care about your fun so don't care about theirs
Funny thing, about that, killers who slug, camp, tunnel ruin the fun for survivors, so why should they care if you had fun? It's a vicious that killer has more control over than the survivors. That being said, they still need to fix match making as it is pure bull when a green killer is up against all red ranks.that needs to be addressed still. When your skill level matches you against those in the same skill range, games tend to go better.
-
only a little worse today than any other day. Match making is still borken. Still can be green ranks stuck in with rank 1's, only difference is Now you can be 14+ and be stuck with the same "Rank 5's" today.

Survivors need to understand that they aren't supposed to wiggle free very often. It should take a concerted effort, ie, breaking a hook or a full team body block.
A better solution would be to give the perk a new effect. Something that is useful without denying the killer a hook.
To reiterate, a survivor breaking free from the killer's grasp should be quite rare.
Talk about entitled killers response. The perk is as stated, fairly useless. No survivor is asking it give a constant get out of jail free type deal, but the wiggle out effect is still almost useless with rare exceptions. Hiding the red outline helps when the hook is right on the other side of a wall, but usually still not enough to wiggle out from a further hook. Sure, killers should be able to hook, but that doesn't mean they should be able to walk past 2 hooks to put you on a 3rd. With the perk it should give you a reliable chance(50/50) on bypassing the first to get to the 2nd hook.

I've played as survivor on the pts and I have to say the problem with the new ruin isn't with how it works, it still with the totem. If the totem is up, the constant regression when not on gens is pretty annoying. Worked a gen to about 75% before hopping off to go save another off the hook. Got back about 30 sec. To a minute and gen was below 25%. When we couldn't find the totem on the new Leary's map, it slowed us down still. However when we found the totem, like always, it as not an issue. 3rd game in, I spawned right next to the totem, it was gone before it could do anything. The totem spawns need to be fixed. Most red ranks know all the locations on the maps and can find it within a minute usually, and as a killer, really drives me nuts when it's out in the open or just inside the killer shack. Make the totems harder to find, harder to get to, and the perk will be more worth while.

Man I wish I copied that last after match fight.
Survivor: I can't believe you camped him.
Me: End of match, doors open, scratchmarks near, and you want me to what, run to the opposite side of the field?
Survivor: You didn't have to camp him, you could have chased us to the door. We could have saved our friend
Me: you 2 are rank 2, I'm rank 8, and you guys are SWF. YOU had the advantage, and you 2 rank 2's LEFT.
Survivor: Well we weren't going to get by you.
Me: I don't have NOED, 2 RANK 2's who cleansed themselves, afraid of a plague doing what??? You ran away!
Survivor: We couldn't do Anything, You suck.
Me: ...... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA RANK 2's afraid to save!
Survivor: Well you didn't hook one of us.
Me: Well you didn't try to save your FRIEND! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

By not communicating, by going by the raw numbers and nothing more, it would show they have no idea how to balance the game. Numbers can be scewed easily when the game isn't balanced to begin with.

It's been like this constantly, last 20 matches as killer, 80 players, 70 of them red ranks, and I'm green. This is nothing more than them inflating the survivor win rate numbers.

I think in addition to disconnecting being punished, survivors should also be punished for killing themselves on the hook. I think it's great that this system has been implemented since a lot of survivors ruin games by disconnecting immediately after going down or if they don't like the killer; however, I have seen a lot of survivors deliberately run into the killer early and then kill themselves on the hook to avoid punishment. I would imagine this system could be implemented by considering it killing themselves on the hook if they wasted about 80+% of the meter on the hook (through attempting to escape and subsequently letting go early in the struggle phase).
And this would be the type of killer no one wants to play against. One who wants to punish the survivor because they don't want to play with him, or play his way. This is why you have more important things to fix than punishing those who want nothing to do with a players who just make the game painful to play. No one wants to play against poor survivors, or equally poor killers and yet you'd rather force the game play than fix the actual issue.
-
You have some serious bugs to fix for this. I just got into a match where I couldn't run, Nothing like being forced to walk around with a killer chasing you. Get 3 feet before they down you, that's a joke and a half, I dropped a pallet on the killer and "ran" away. killer destroyed the pallet and downed me before I got past the connected wall. I'm not staying in a match like that, nor should you punish anyone who quits a game because it's bugged out.

Killers need to camp if a swf group won't leave the hook; don't dm me about face camping if you were all trying to get your buddy off the hook all at once. How is this biased? Stating common knowledge isn't bias.
But that's not camping, A SWF trying to save their buddy with all 4 around, making noise, leaving scratch marks, that's not even close to camping. That's them being dumb and something that you should punish them over. Understand what actual camping is, and when people complain, well if you know what it is, then flock them. Let them be salty for dancing around the hook.

I did say its a winning strat if survivors let it be one, but I fail to see the part where I said I camped. I assume that's just a broad generalization to try and strengthen your paper thin argument.
I never said it wasn't their only objective, just as a survivors only objective is to get out. But the points you earn aren't based solely on the objective of each side. the game doesn't give you 8k points for killing a survivor, just as the game doesn't give survivors 32k just for escaping. You earn points based off the actions you take. The unfortunate thing is this is where the points become lopsided, A killer can just camp a hook and earn 20k+ points, while a survivor, if they do just gens and escape with probably earn 13k if they max on objective. if you want a better score, and more bloodpoints, you have to try and save, heal, run the killer, all of which is hampered by a killer just camping. However a camping killer doesn't have to move. Survivors come in range and he gets points for survivor found, close enough to initiate a chase, and he gets points, He chases people for a second away from the hook and he gets points. Point wise, the game is definitely in the killers favor. He can camp and do almost nothing and get points.
-
@Alaina said:
If I hook a survivor and the other three are near the hook, I'm staying in that area. Its not toxic to stay where survivors are. I will not go across the map where there's no gens or survivors. I get camping is bad but I'm not leaving the hook if all of you are in my face. A message from literally every killer player
You're right, you're not toxic and assuming all are around the hooked person, and at least 1 or 2 others will know it. You are camping if no one is "Obviously" around, meaning they were dumb enough to run in close, or hide in the open, around a corner whimpering, etc. Camping the hook is when no one is there, or you don't know someone is there, like they were in Chili range when someone hooked, and you had to search every square inch to find him/her. Camping is essentially when you are intentionally watching that hook, waiting for someone to pull the survivor off so you can either go right back after them, or the person who saved them. Saving is as much part of the game as killing is. Killers seem to want to punish you though for it.It makes 0 sense when a killer say's "It's my job to kill so you should do something else!" when that is part of the survivors job as well.

It's not unfun for everyone tho. Like I said I enjoy playing and playing against campers. And the argument against a depip is easily torn down. Survivors can bring keys, insta heals, and brand new pets which zoom them outta the game and result in killers depips. It goes both ways that's part of the game. And to top it all off, what is the point of reaching a high rank? Absolutely nothing
Lets see how much we can tear into your comments here. Keys are only good if enough gens are done, of you're the last one alive. Insta-heals have been removed after killers whined about them being too OP. Pets? there are no pets in the game, much less PERKS that can zoom them out of the game either. And just as survivors have 4 perks, so do Killers. Killers also have an ability which survivors do not. There is no reason to bring in a Bill over a Nea except for "I like the skin better" As for reaching high rank, well it's less of a chance to run into you, and killers like you. I've seen 1 red rank killer who camped, while I've seen plenty in Purple and more in Green.
-
As a survivor, when you have a tunneling, camping killer, and you get farmed off the hook. If I'm being screwed out of points because people want to farm me off the hook, and killer wants to stay on my ass, then I have no use or time for that game. I'd rather leave and get into a new game, than to let a killer, or a farming teammate get any more points from me.

But this is a competitive game, and its not like I have survivors bending over backwards to give me hooks. So I am going to do everything in my power to win, and get called sweaty for it, and be fine with that. And when it comes down to it, I don't want DS to be gone, I just want it deactivated after I hook another survivor.
"I don't want DS to be gone, I just want it deactivated after I hook another survivor."
You want DS nerfed to the point of being useless to make the game easier for you. Just admit you would rather have a survivor standing around doing nothing and you'll feel a lot better.

There will always be trash talkers, but that's not all survivors, just as there are some trashy killers, but plenty that aren't. The problem is, no one wants to own up to their side doing those things. I was just in a match with a rank 5 trash talking the killer, Doc, calling him a cheat, a hack, yet he didn't do anything wrong. He went after everyone, he downed most of us several times, he got the 4k, and 3 of us made him earn it. the 4th, would be the one who claimed he cheated, when in reality he just sucked. He couldn't break out of tier 3 to save his life, so he hid in lockers most the match. After the match, 3 of us reported that survivor.

4th question do the devs really listen?

I really love this game but it's no fun dealing with these issues :(
- yes, slowly and you cam blame 4 for the reason.
- The game is so toxic because again 4. BHVR only really listens to the killers, and once and a while to the survivors. Rules are slanted in the killers favor.
- All games go through an amount of balancing, It's just a matter of what you consider balanced. The most recent changes were due to either data showing x killer getting getting 3/4k ratios that are far outside the expected (Hello nurse and spirit), or because the killer complains, (closing loops, BL, insta heals, etc). People DC for any reason. Getting downed in general is a popular one. That is not a great argument for not focusing on a weak survivor.
I see more people DC over a killer that camps, slugs, or tunnels, that I do just because they don't like the killer. You and other killers can cut down tremendously on this by simply not doing those things. Additionally if killers stopped tunneling, camping, and slugging, MANY perks you complain about wouldn't be used anywhere near as much as they are today.

Failing? you're kidding right? Killers are designed to catch and hook survivors already. So a survivor runs you around for 30 seconds, a minute 2 minutes and you finally catch them, They failed? they did what they could against a character that is designed to catch them. DS is in to deter you from doing it again to the same person. You choose to go after them, you deserve to be DS'd.

Picking on the weak one is the best strategy for killer. Its the one you want to go for because then you can start breaking the chain. Its not mean, its strategy.
yeah, wonderful strategy. one I bet you are used to seeing people DC on too. This is why they need to start showing the survivors who is playing the killer. So they have the option to leave the match before it starts when they know it's going to be some knob on the other end.

I love how you rush to assume I never play survivor. Survivor is insanely overpowered if you know the infinite locations, there's only a handful of killers who know how to deal with them.
Did I mention that I play at rank 1 for both killer and survivor? I will give you screenshots for proof if you desire. Unfortunately, most people who play this game don't seem to understand the potential of the infinite loops, which are present on almost every map. I can see how a new survivor could fall into the trap of thinking killers are the more powerful role.
Nice try, rank 4. Infinite loops are being removed, and already have been removed from many maps. They're easy to deal with as well, WALK AWAY. You got a survivor playing on a infinite, he isn't doing anything and you can get someone else. Hell you only have to feign walking away as most will think they got the better of you. But hey, go ahead and post your photo shopped picks. If you haven't learned to leave a chase, you obviously aren't rank 1.

Developers make games so they can make their publisher money. If people didn't like it, they would not play. It's not my responsibility at ALL to make sure the other players are having fun. Especially in a PvP game where they are my opponent, and especially online where I have no prior connection to any of the players.
And the insta-heal nerf / balanced landing nerf is just another drop in the bucket to me. Survivors have always been overpowered in this game, right from the start. The game is still in their favor, and I understand why it is that way (balanced around solo Q instead of SWF).
You don't seem to understand. It is your job to entertain the other side, just as much as it's my job to entertain you. If all survivors did was join the game and stand there, how long would you play?
Oh wait, you already believe survivors are overpowered with their skills being nerfed regularly, looping being limited and removed, door spawns too close together, killers playing like scumbags hindering points. You would probably love this game if the only thing survivors did was stand around waiting for you to down them.

At the start of reading that I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming the "you" was referring generally to "one who camps", but then by about the "your playstyle is what's killing this game" point, it started to seem like you were attacking me specifically.
So I'd appreciate it if you would please stop making assumptions about me or the way I play the game. I am a heavy survivor main. I barely play killer, except for challenges and dailies. When I do, I never camp - I rarely even kill people, usually I get what I came for and let everyone go. I simply happen to believe that there is nothing wrong with using a powerful or effective strategy in any game, and killers have as much right as survivors do to use every tool at their disposal in order to secure a win.
And that neither side should be punished by the ranking system for doing so.
You're right, I misread what you said. but I still disagree with camping being a powerful tool. This is a tool that practically guarantee's screwing over at least 1 survivor just to secure a kill. I'll admit, I'm not the best at running a killer. That being said, I ran one for almost 2 minutes before he finally caught me. during that time 2 gens got done, 1 had 2 on it, other had 1. Killer hooks me, I see 2 on a gen, 1 cleaning a totem. totem breaks, gen completes, and killer is camping my face. 2 gens left, 2 people coming to get me, bubba just staring at me. 2 others arrive, 1 tries to pull bubba away. he starts to leave, then turns quickly and downs the other. the 2nd guy just leaves, 1 at my feet waiting for anything and bubba still face camping. I die on hook earning less than 5k points and depip. Yeah that was fair. I get to depip because Bubba had to camp. Game ends with all gens done. Bubba's sitting on about 20k points, survivors are at 10 and under. I can guarantee no survivor pipped, 2 depipped, and killer probably did, and this is fair how?

As someone who camps regularly at red ranks, I disagree. The survivors can basically ignore the hooked survivor and do gens for 2 minutes straight, and I will still win because a 3v1 is so much in the killers favor.

As a killer I don't feel like I have any obligation to make sure the other side is having fun. You think in Apex legends someone is going to hesitate about shooting me because I wouldn't like it? It is a competitive online game. It is the developer's job to ensure the gameplay is fun, not me. It's not like there aren't an equal amount of toxic survivors who will drag you to haddo with instaheals and balanced landing while being in a SWF.
you don't seem to understand how games work. developers make games for people to play that they will find fun. In this game, they made it 4 survivors against 1 killer. fairly obvious, killer kills, survivors try to do gens to survive and get out. People buy this game knowing that basic concept. But once you start playing, YOU are playing and trying to make it fun for the other side. In apex legends, if 1 side just stood around and did nothing, you just ran right up to them and shot them in the face, how much fun would it be? I mean really, not just the first time, how long are you going to play? When you play Apex Legends, you expect the other side to give you competition, otherwise, it's just not fun. The same thing hold true here. The survivors are in this to try and do objectives, get the door open and get out, while trying to avoid being killed by you. When you tunnel, slug, camp, you kill this thrill. you kill the reason to play. You make it so people just don't want to play this game. So they stop and move on to something else.
"survivors who will drag you to haddo with instaheals and balanced landing while being in a SWF."
Funny thing you mention those 2 things. Instaheals have been nurfed, Balanced Landing is being nurfed. So when are they going to listen to survivors and start punishing camping and tunneling?

"Killer was AFK and I DePiPeD?! That's unfair! I didn't have to play the game so I should have piped and got to a higher rank!"
And like that you show what a fool you are. That is not what he said at all. A killer goes afk, it shouldn't penalize the survivor by depiping. He didn't ask to be rewarded with a rank/pip, he asked not to depip for the killers inaction.

They can. It's commonly referred to as "genrushing". Like camping, it's a perfectly legitimate strategy for achieving one's objective, can be very difficult to counter, and feels pretty crappy for the other side.
But this isn't the place to discuss it, because this is a thread about the ranking system.
That's a joke right? Everything you do, earns you points. You want to stop a gen rush, don't camp the hook, Pressure the Gens, and chase others. Your problem with Gen rushing is caused by your actions, not by the fact that a survivor found a gen and started working on it. There is only one way to get a gen done, walk over to it and start working on it. If you can't counter that, it's on you. Maybe next time take Ruin, Thanatophobia, Pop, or any of other gen based perks to slow the game down. You have the power to slow the game down. If you choose not to, that's on you. There isn't a counter to camping though. You hinder the ability of the survivors to earn points, to enjoy the game. And your play style is what's killing this game. When the game is no longer enjoyable, people leave, and you are doing exactly that. Think it's a joke, look at the queue times today compared to 3 months ago, 2 months ago, a month ago. I've only been playing for 5 months now, but when I started, during prime time, I was in queue for maybe a minute at most before a game started as survivor. Now it's up around 5 to 10 minutes. It's getting longer and longer because people just don't want to play.

Yeah, it sucks not being able to earn altruism points. But if you hook dive someone who's being camped, you probably won't get the altruism points anyway, and you'll also most likely end up with no objective or survival points either because you'll be the next one to die. It's still a bad move, and not a lucrative one either. The only reason to do it is if you care about the other person's survival more than you do about your own point gains.
So let the killer hijack our points, let him screw us over because he wants to be a camping PoS. Wouldn't it be nice if Survivors could screw over the killer the same way?

I am saying that if you are a killer and hook someone early, like with 5 gens and ruin still up, there is almost no downside to just trading off ~2 gens to secure a kill. And those 2 gens will only get done if the survivors are playing very well, and not all blundering about trying to save. From there it is an easy task to win 3v1, even with only 2-3 gens left.
Camping is insanely powerful when done well. All the perks like BT / DS / etc etc only work if the survivors can actually get the unhook in the first place. I think it's only held in check by the fact that most players are not willing to do it.
And this is again not fun for the rest. You think it's insanely powerful for the rest? Who the hell cares? The game is meant to be fun for all, not you and 2 or 3 others. When you catch and camp someone, you're being a toxic killer who no one wan't to play against. killer is supposed to be thrilling and terrorizing, a camping killer is neither of these. He's boring, dull, and just not fun to play against. You ruin the game for everyone.

If anything, solo players have the advantage in this scenario, because they're not emotionally invested in the survival of their teammates as they would be if they were friends.
Yes, maybe they wouldn't get as many generators done in reality as they would ideally if everyone just ignored the hooked person and focused on generators.
The point still stands, though, that generator progress notwithstanding, going for the save under those circumstances is a stupid decision which is going to get them killed. And that is their fault, not the killer's, because the killer is laying an obvious trap and they are walking right into it.
And even if that happens with the first hooked survivor, the rest of the team should have learned their lesson by that point and not try to go for the next save. Again, if a camping killer gets a 4k, 9/10 times that is the fault of the survivors.
Riiight, because solo survivors don't want altruism points... Game design rather forces you to work as a team. if you don't you are giving up too many points during the game. It's hard enough to earn blood points due to different killer abilities; wraith and stealth killers go stealth during a chase, the heartbeat is lost and you are no longer in a chase even though you are, so you lose chase points.Plague vomit hinders Altruism points due to loss of healing, etc. Add camping and tunneling on top of these and a survivors points are just screwed.

you didn't do enough in the game, do totems, open chests, use toolboxes to sabo.
This doesn't necessarily do enough for you. If you don't have a toolbox, and the killer is wraith or myers, their loss of heartbeat means little to no boldness, no altruism points. 2 categories totally hampered because killer is not around. with a loss of almost 16k. Still I'm willing to bet he/she didn't de-pip/ de-rank. Getting out is supposed to guarantee you don't de-pip

This is from an actual match: I hook Dwight, Kate comes to the rescue before i even leave the hook. I hit Kate once, she unhooks, I down and hook her. Dwight fakes the unhook, I hit him, and of course BT. He unhooks and i down him.
Now there are two survivors I can't pick up for a full minute. I leave Dwight by the hook, after drawing a magic Dorito on the ground. Kate runs away. I move toward the gen that just popped and find Jake cleansing Haunted Grounds. I let him finish, then down him, hook him, and trap the hook.
My Dwight trap goes off and I teleport to find Feng healing Dwight. I down her and hook her. Kate unhooks Jake so I teleport and down her. Dwight gets up with Unbreakable and unhooks Feng while I'm picking up Kate, whereupon I get DSed in what had to be the very last second of her DS timer.
I hooked all four survivors in under a minute. Just FYI... That's the exact opposite of tunneling. Then in seconds I go from 2 hooked plus 1 slug to all four unhooked... because "iT's An AnTi TuNnElLiNg PeRk".
The way DS is now, it encourages stupid plays because the survivors know they can get away with it. Without DS and BT, either Dwight never would have unhooked Kate or he would have immediately replaced her on the hook. Without DS, Dwight would have been hooked instead of lying on the ground in front of Feng's hook waiting to use Unbreakable. With just a shortened DS timer, Kate would have replaced Jake on the hook.
I am in no way saying we should get rid of DS, that would be silly. It is needed for ACTUAL cases of tunneling. Personally, I would like to see one of two possibilities:
1.) The DS timer loses 10 seconds every time another survivor is hooked while the perk is active and the DS user is not slugged.
OR
2.) The DS timer loses 5 seconds every time another survivor is hit while the perk is active and the DS user is not slugged.
I think either of those options is pretty fair.
I refer you to Vossler's posts. His desire to go after and tunnel is proof that DS should stay the way it is. It's already hampered in the fact that it's 1 use, 1minute, and has a skill check. They put in what you want and it's no longer a viable option. It's just another perk gone down the tubes because killers didn't like it.
