Tunneling isn;t toxic, it was a legitimate strategy to get a survivor out of the game and punish bad plays. But now with BT and DS survivors can do brainless plays and get away fine.

ROFL!. Tunneling is very toxic. What's a bad play to you? them running you around for 2 gens, someone else puling them off the hook? the fact they got on a generator? Face it, Your complaints are poor. You want the game turned into something easy for you to win. Something that makes the game very predictible, just so you don't have to actually play the game.

  • @Sluzzy said:

The issue is not solely DS. The issue is high rank play. If you play by survivor rules, in which DS causes that, the killer will lose every game if the survivors are good. And SWF exploits borrowed time, DS, and all the second chance perks in such a way that it is impossible for a killer to win. The devs have created a living nightmare for killers. And nerfing the top viable killers is pretty much sealed the deal that survivors are the power role.

Right, so play by the killer rules! No DS, BT, BL, DH, no looping, or doing gens, and get out of thoe Jungle Gyms. You must run in a straight predictible line that provides the least amount of work and challenge to the killer.

Unlike DS, Noed does have a counter, which is cleansing. If you won't spend the time needed too cleanse you know the risk. DS doesn't have a counter besides slugging, and even then they can be picked up. DS's change needs too be that it ends if another survivor is hooked. I once hooked 2 people, found a third, then got hit with DS because I was "tunneling." It needs too be for that purpose, tunneling, not a get out of jail free card because the survivor jumped into a locker.

DS is still only good for 1 minute, 1 use, and do not miss that skill check. It may not have a counter, it is still very limited.

  • Yeah, though with how games go, I prefer to call them BS.

75k Blood Shards from a match?! HOW?

No, I don't just think of a 4k as a win, silly. I think of a win as "I had fun." I don't even care if I get no hooks. But it's hard to have fun when gens are flying at mach 4

As killer, play a match with Pudding (100% bloodhsard bonus) and BBQ (Max 100% if hook all 4 survivors). with max kills, you can get 32k points, but with 2 hooks on everyone, and doing a ok/good job, you can get between 23 and 28k points. Add in the 200%( or score *3) total bonus and you are looking at 69k, to 84k bloodshards. As killer, that isn't hard.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You can at least remove NOED, nothing you can do against DS you have to either slug them, tunnel them extra hard, or let them go. 1 and 3 are the only viable options.

Or ignore them and chase someone else.

  • "how do you tunnel 2 people at 1 time." I've addressed this already. If you can't read, that's on you.

"(Dying Light/Remember Me)" 2 perks rarely used in purple and red ranks. There is more tunneling and camping than those using these perks. Additionally, go reread these perks. Dying light deactivates if you kill the obsession, and Dying light, you want to make sure you get your hits in on the obsession, kill him too quickly and you may not get what you want. For these there is good reason not to tunnel. Rancor is another example to avoid tunneling the obsession, you want that kill at the end, leave the obsession alone and deal with the other 3.

Really? So what's my rank? I bet you're as wrong as me saying you never got out of green ranks as killer.

If ruin is in the game, someone should find the totem and destroy it. Sometimes it's me, others it's not. Otherwise the base 80 seconds to complete a gen can push up over 2 minutes.

As for tunneling, no that is the killer's decision, it can only be influenced by the survivor by intentionally running to you, and if that's the case, by all means, have at it. Understand this, what survivors hate isn't you trying to kill them, it you deciding that's the only thing they get to do. Yes, you're there to kill 4 others, so work on that, to focus and kill 1 right off the bat, you're killing the fun for everyone.

Just out of curiosity, what would you have liked to see happen to the nurse? Her kill rate and usage both went down, so how was that "a wrong nerf", and what would have been "a right nerf".

Nurse needed a hit from the nerf bat, but she took a pounding instead. %'s should round out to about 50/50 when things are said and done. Before the nurse nerf, I know a nurse main who boasts about a 95% 3/4k(hatch escapes) game. Now he's averaging less than 30%. Last 3 nurses I went against, looped 2 of them for 3+ minutes because they just couldn't keep up, or guessed wrong when I LoS'd them. The 3rd, we all just kept losing her. Timer on recovering blinks should be dropped to 2 seconds per blink from 3, then addons to modify from there.

The latter is using an example of game play that is unaffected by perks any one has. The former is forcing the killer to play differently because of perks. THere are very few, if any killer perks that force a change of gameplay from the survivor. There are at least 2 survivor perks that force the killer to play in a different way. Not saying killers shouldn't be adaptable and learn to play; but there is a difference from adapting and something giving little to no counter play.

There are many different play styles for hunting and killing survivors, but only one way to complete a gen. And completing gens can and are effected by many perks, pop, ruin, surveillance, corrupt int., etc. All of these perks force a change in game play. Ruin- stop doing gen and go find totem. Surveillance - 1 per gen, no teaming up to do them. CI - Hide and wait 2 minutes or find one closer to the killer. Etc. Perks are meant to force a change in game play one way or another. NOED - Run in to save? Nope go find that totem first. So DS forcing you to leave a survivor alone for a minute or deal with the consequences, it's a moot point.

You still havent responded on the idea of ds deactivating if the killer hooks someone else since the devs stated ds is a anti tunnel perk if another survivor gets hooked its done its job and should deactivate shouldnt it because then its doing more then preventing tunneling.

Because tunneling is more than just hooking another survivor. You hook the first. You get into a chase with the next and first gets unhooked. You down the second, hook and go back after the first, and then the second again. In this case you are still tunneling, your bouncing between 2 because the other is/was on the hook. So no, it shouldn't deactivate just because you hooked someone else.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

"Boring" is the new thing to say when you get beat or when you think something is too strong. It's kinda silly. If Killers didn't feel forced to run all the slowdown perks they can, it might be more exciting for everyone. DCing should be punished, cause you are screwing over everyone in the match cause you "Don't want to deal with it" or "it's Boring". PVE game? I could understand that. PVP game? Play the game for your team, or at the least your own pride.

Games are meant to be fun for all. When game after game, the killer is slugging, camping, tunneling you, the game is no longer fun, and staying in it only rewards that scummy behavior. Why should they be rewarded for it?

For that matter what do you consider a win? Only if you get a 4k? I find it very ridiculous when a killer offers pudding, slugs all and walks out with 12k pts declaring a victory. Really? 36k bloodshardss total(pudding and chili), yet others not using these tactics, 0 kills, survivors hooked at least once, 25k points, 75k bloodshards, same amount of time played. I'll take a "loss" with 75k bloodshards over a win with 36k any day.

To survivors who after the game who taunt "Haha, you killed no one! You suck!" Simple response. "I got 25k pts/ 75k you got 15k pts/30k BS. Pretty sure I did better."

  • Pulled completely out of context, good job!

    As a killer, a survivor you downed was just unhooked and charged at you. Do you;

    A. Pick him right up

    B. Go after his buddy who is right there?

    As a survivor, there is a generator to your left and another to your right. The killer is camping the left. Do you;

    A. Go to the left generator and do it in front of the killer

    B. Go to the right generator safely?

I'll give you a hint, B is the correct answer in both cases.

So the killer should get punished for punishing the survivor for what should be a dumb decision? Also like i said ds is stated as a anti tunnel perk so why should it remain active after another survivor is hooked.

The killer wasn't punished, he earned points for everything in that, including additional survivor found, chase, an extra hit, and more. The other survivor was hooked for all of a second, SO WHAT? the killer doesn't get any more points for hanging for 1 second, or 1 minute, the killer makes out, he knows 2 people currently not working gens, and a third who is working their way back. Both shown survivors are injured and likely to heal if they're not chased, and because it just happened, the killer is immediately back in a chase, not looking for someone. The only "punishment" comes from the obvious DS, 5 second stun. With how it was played, he should have known that was going to happen; Survivors aren't going in for the rescue like that without some ace up their sleeve. . If he had left her on the ground, he could have chased the other knowing 3 survivors would be occupied, 1 in chase, 1 down, 1 going to help. So the only dumb play there was the killer picking up the survivor.

  • @supersonic853 said:

This goes back to otzs video where he hooked the other survivor and the survivor with ds active came down and unhookd the guy otz downed him and picked him up and he used it and basically got rewarded for being dumb but yeah apparently ds is fine. You should never run toward the killer and unhook someone infront of them unless you have ds apparently. Anti tunnel my ass.

And again, this shows how poor of a killer you must be to think that the only reason to use DS is for that chance to just get away. Listen to what he says, Basement is a bad place for survivors, especially against bubba, essentially because many like to camp (granted, he didn't). but this is a common enough issue that if you know you have a chance to get in and rescue someone from hook, and have a way out, best use it. He as killer knew she was hooked and was just rescued, he took that chance to pick up the survivor right after he downed her. If she had used your logic, she should have just left the survivor to die in the basement, and what fun would that be?

  • @Chicagopimp2019 said:

"I don't camp when I'm the Killer and believe me I could if I wanted to because I can't see that well, so camping would be a good way to get kills"

Camping is a terrible way to get kills. If the survivors have any experience with the game, they will team up on gens and the game will be over with you walking away with the single kill you camped. Camping only works on overly-altruistic players who insist on getting that hook save even though their teammates have tried the same thing and are getting downed.

ohh yeah, altruistic players. Hey you do realize it's also a category for points. 8k per category, and your need to camp screws everyone out of those points. this belief that the game is only about killing or surviving is bull. I've played rounds where after a good run and still dieing, I'd end up with 25k pts. But when the killer camps, forces gen rush and leave, he can walk out with 12 to 18K for being a POS, while survivors being denied in 2 categories are walking out with maybe 8 to 10K, Yeah what a win there! I got out, but that POS killer doubled my score.

OMG that happened with me and my friends last night the Killer DC one minute after the game started all because we were all working on gens at the same time. We had been waiting for 15 minutes for a game and this crap happened it was ridiculous I tell you, it needs to stop and I'm glad that they're at least doing something about it. I heard in the update for the new killer that IF you DC on purpose you'll be blocked from playing for 20 minutes and I hope it's like a 3 strikes you're out system where if you continue to do DC you get banned from playing. If you can't play the game and you're such a baby you need to DC every time or don't like the Killer or whatever then you shouldn't be playing DBD in the first place.

Reasons for DC vary but by the sounds of it there wasn't a reason. The only I could think of is if you are on test for Oni. Some survivors go on test to play specifically against Oni. After waiting 5 to 10 minutes in queue, another 5 in lobby waiting for a 4th, and then another 2 minutes in loading, all set for Oni, and you ghostface... I've seen people quit for that. On live servers, that's just a poor sport.

You're able to play however you want.

Baddies and entitles players will always disconnect.

You should look up entitled, you don't seem to understand the word. "Play however you want" is acting entitled, wating a killer not to tunnel, camp, slug, is desire.

In all honesty i would have done the exact same thing. Why would anyone waste time on a healthy survivor compared to an injured one. The only difference i would have made is probably spared you the final hook until i had hooked the rest of the group. It may sound scummy but at the end of the day the killer is not your friend. Also the amount of crap killers have to put up with be it in game toxicity or post game messages. You get really fed up and just think fk it.

That in and of itself is scummy. After first hook, I wasn't pulled right off, no one was close, killer left the area, about and maybe 30 to 45 seconds later, I got pulled off and they start to heal,, but there's the heartbeat. So for that 30 to 45 seconds what was the killer doing? Not patrolling, not looking, just waiting. That was the truly scummy part he waited for someone to save to come back and chase me again. The 2 that got me, came from different directions, running in. How easy would it have been if he was patrolling? He was lucky in the fact that 2 came. If only 1 showed, 2 would be working gens, another would have popped in the time he chased me instead of 1.

If I was pulled off in front of him, I get it if he chased me, I'd hate it more because the survivor farmed me off, but that's not the killers fault. But to go a short distance away and wait, that's just a petty, camping, tunneling killer. Not fun, not scary or thrilling, not entertaining, and deserving of a dc.

So if a killer gets survivors with red ping in their lobby and doesn't feel like playing against that because playing against people with red ping is annoying, they should be punished for leaving the lobby to try and find a better match

What if something happens in real life that requires attention? Guess he should be punished for leaving a match that hasn't started yet, right?

What about if the lobby bugs out and a fourth survivor just doesn't join? Welp, too bad, time for you to be punished.

Oh but of course, only KILLERS should be punished! Survivors should just be able to leave for any reason at all with impunity! /s

What wonderful double standards you have.

Seriously, your solution to fix a problem is to introduce an even worse problem than the initial one you are trying to solve. May as well suggest that the cure for a broken leg is to just amputate it. Hey, at least you won't have to deal with the broken leg anymore, right?

Dedicated servers are around the corner (whether we like it or not). On dedicated servers such as it is on PC and switch, the lobby isn't canceled when the killer leaves. The lobby stays and the killer who left is pretty much instantly replaced with a new one.

Speaking of double standards, you're more than happy to abuse and punish survivors by face camping and tunneling, then wanting them punished more for not wanting to deal with your toxic behavior, but your not willing to be punished for dodging a high ping, ttv, flashlight or key wielding survivor. Sounds pretty hypocritical to me.

Personally I'm not in to punishing either side for that, but dbd is doing exactly that by allowing killers to decide up front, while survivors can't until they are in game and find out you're playing toxic killer.

Again the game is meant to be fun for all 5 players in the match. If something is ruining the match causing player to want to do, that should be addressed, fix that problem and survivors will stay and killers won't complain about DC's.

They have an unlimited power though, it’s not the same. Oni Myers & GF have to commit time to charging their ability, which is a very precious resource in these days with gens popping so fast.

I'm sorry, but you're not going to convince me that the only way you can prevent a gen from being done is by slugging. This killer has more potential, Easier charge time, and a sick ass mori, that say slugging isn't needed. The last round the killer slugged, 10 to 15 minutes+ queue to get in the game, slugged everyone within the first few minutes, walked out with about 12k points.so 20+ minutes 12k pts. And that was worth it? Ohh BBQ!, 24k! ohh wait 2 DC'd so 18k Blood shards... yeah, that doesn't sound worth it, at all. you'd do better off letting the 4 survivors go, or hell deal with only killing 1 or 2, and walking out with 25 to 28k. and in full chili stacks and you're making out with 50K+ for about 25 minutes total... yeah, I'll take playing the game over slug fest any day.

Myers and Ghostface can’t cover large distances quick like Oni though. If the survivors are within range, any big brain Myers or gf is gonna keep downing people until their power runs out. I think that’s pretty obvious.

No, but Billy and Spirit can, yet they aren't running around slugging everyone. Billy, once mastered, has to be one of the easiest to run around doing exactly that Ride around and down someone, step on the gas and do it again. But agian this doesn't happen anywhere near as often as Oni.

In that same vein, I don't want to play against gen rushing, tea bagging, flash light clicking, decisive strike, dead hard-using survivors, but I still have to.

Also when I play survivors, if the killer is a streamer, I can't dodge that either, because I don't know who the killer is and if they're a streamer or not.

Again, you're trying to correlated leaving a lobby which immediately gets replaced with another killer, to leaving in the middle of the match and wasting everyone's time. They're not the same thing.

Gen Rushing - Honstly I don't get this. Match starts and survivors are separated (Not always). they each hop on a Gen (The Objective) and start it, you find someone and chase them and 3 gens pop shortly after... that's an unforntunate break, but it's not a team trying to screw you. Plus it's easy to fix. Pressure the gens. If one pops while you're chasing someone and haven't hit them yet, or downed them, consider going back to the gens, force the others off and moving around, especially if the person running you is intentionally pulling you AWAY from the Gens. Plus if you get in a lobby and you see 3 toolboxes, You can dodge ahead of time if you really wanted to.

Tbagging, flashlight clicking - I agree. This is just poor sportsmanship and I hate it as well. But to note, these actions don't prevent you from earning points. they annoy and it shouldn't be done, but you are still earning.

decisive strike - Perk... I may hate NOED, and don't feel you need it on certain killers, I don't want to see it changed or removed, nor do I care if I go against it. DS is easily avoidable, especially if you are already in chase with someone else, or down the hooked person, come back a minute later if you haven't caught the guy who unhooked him. Preferably, go after the idiot who unhooked him in front of you, trying to farm points.

Dead hard - ...Seriously? You hate Dead Hard? on average when it comes to dead hard is an extra 3 seconds of chase, ONCE. Once you see it, if you're chasing the same guy again, just get close, watch them dead hard an attack that isn't coming, then hit them. I've only seen it used ONCE where it actually significantly increased the chase time, all the rest were just jokes. admittedly, I've not hit red ranks with killer, yet, but I've come close, rank 6.

but none of this matters, You stated "o leaving in the middle of the match and wasting everyone's time." well how do you think I, or OTHER DC'ers feel when you tunnel, camp, or slug us? It's a complete waste of time, it sucks, and plain and simply, we HATE it. Unlike several of the things you mentioned though, These 3 styles were YOUR choice to play. You chose a play style that benefits ONLY you. It doesn't thrill, excite, or entertain the others (Game is designed for 5 to entertain each other, not just yourself). So if you wasted MY time with these play styles, why shouldn't we waste yours? you provide us that thrill, that jump scare, that entertainment, and we'll continue to play and entertain you.

But forcing players to play against toxic constantly, it's just not in the cards. People will quit. And when Behavior realized maybe they should find a different method to dealing with the actual problem, then they might return.

If you want examples of this, look at the original Star Wars MMO. The original was fun, people enjoyed it, but asked for a couple of changes, to enhance game play. No one wanted a handout in the game, they just wanted some combat styles tweaked. Instead of listening to the player base, they completely redesigned the combat system to something that just sucked. Some left, others asked it be changed back, or fixed. Again ignored and more people left. The game spent so much time ignoring the player base, they lost a vast majority of it. By the time they started listening,. it was too late. No one cared, the game went under. No one wants to see that happen to DBD, but if you keep forcing changes like this, force players to play rounds that just plain and simply suck, the same thing will happen. So I ask you, If you have to keep playing rounds that plain and simply SUCK constantly, How long before you quit? Ask yourself Honestly.

I've offered suggesting on another thread or 2 on how to combat DC's already, but I don't think any of them will happen.

  • this new killer is promoting one of the more annoying play styles, slugging. I got into test and was enjoying it at first, Killer was learning how to play, we were learning how to counter him.

Couple days in, game is still enjoyable, with a slug match about 1 in 10. The other 9, killer had Ruin, BBQ, gotten better, and yes, was killing us, or we were surviving and getting out. but either way, we all were enjoying it (FYI his mori is disgustingly beautiful.)

Today, 8 games run, 6 sluggers, 1 Tunneler.... most common reason given by the killer for slugging, "If I pick someone up, my power is depleted entirely!" 1st off, it isn't, you keep about 15 to 25%. 2nd, You can gain back the power very quickly, especially if you've hit players already, 3rd, this exact same excuse can be applied to Myers, Ghostface, and several other killers, yet you won't see it that much in them.

of those 6 games, 24 survivors in total, about 14 disco'd, myself included on 3. the other 2, one hoped for a lucky hatch, Others just went AFK and waited until it was over. So how is this fun for the survivors? If this is how the game is going to be, If you're going to continue rewarding killers for this play style which gives nothing to the survivors, then why continue to play?

As soon as you see that offering screen, that is the beginning of the match, and when you see that scoreboard, that is the end of the match.

Thus, anything inbetween that is "in the middle of the match".

I don't play against streamers because I have been witch hunted before because I didn't play how the streamer wanted me to play (Basically, I beat them, so they whine and make me out to be a bad guy for y'know, playing a game). This hasn't happened just in this game, but in other games as well..

So no, I don't want to deal with it and therefore, I will dodge the lobby. I don't know about you, but having a streamer's audience attacking you is a very, very unfortunate thing to experience and is not something I'd like to want to waste my valuable time having to deal with. And based on the amount of salt my brother gets when he plays with streamers (unlike me, he openly embraces the salt), I do not regret my decision one bit.

Here's my last game I've had before I began dodging streamers. You tell me if you think this type of attitude is enjoyable to deal with or not.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/739/YUI84A8RJKN0.png

Based on the comments my brother gets on his profile from a lot of streamers, and based on the type of things they say in stream, and the screenshots above (this isn't the only one), I can confidently say that most (not everyone, but most) people who plop /TTV in their name are #########, and I don't want to play with #########. Therefore, I don't.

Yes, I've met some nice streamers before I began dodging them. But I met four times as many nasty ones.

This is just proof of the double standard though. You don't want to play against streamers so you get to dodge early. I don't want to play against a face camper, Tunneler, slugger, but I don't get to dodge, I have to now play against them, and deal with a crappy round or DC and get punished, while you get to dodge streamers without punishment.

    FYI, I classify them as follows;

Tunneler - chases, hooks, and in unhook, immediately chases again.

Camper - Hooks and either face camps, or goes just outside of that terror range and waits

Slugger - Downs a player and goes to search for another to down, rinse repeat.

Games like these are just plain boring. If you play that way and enjoy it, great, I'd like to dodge you instead of being forced to play that, thank you very much.

  • First game today on test, Oni killer, finds me right off the bat, started next to him. Ran him accrosss the map for about a minute, 1 gen done, another almost when I got hooked. He leaves, I get pulled off the hook and 2 people start to heal me. Oni comes back, ignores the other 2 and comes straight for me. Again run him around for another 30 seconds, I wasn't healed. Hooks me again. Again I get rescued, again he comes back for me. This time I get hit with an insta heal, and take off hurt with Oni following. again ignoring others. Survivors get in his way, chase gets broken momentarily by someone else. Finally a chance to start a gen, ohh wait, he's coming back. FUN another chase and he's got his power up! 1hit down. DC. I would have walked out with maybe 5k points, while the POS killker gets 8K from me alone. Why should I stay?

  • Plenty of reasons to DC really. Camped on the hook? wait till unhooked and rehooked? No thank you, especially if I was farmed off the hook. killer doesn't deserve any additional points for that. Killer turned me into a slug and now I get to spend the next 4 minutes bleeding out on the ground while he chases/downs the next person. Again as survivor, I get nothing for those 4 minutes, yet he is still earning, and if he manages to down everyone, he gets points for hooking us. Again thanks, I'll pass. I'd rather sit in queue for those 4 minutes waiting on the next round. Killer tunnels me...well I might be getting chase points, but so is he and when he downs me again, he got hit points, hook points, kill points, etc. and I get jack in comparison. Again I have better things to do then sit in a game earning little to no points while the killer reaps the rewards for this BS play style. So no thank you, I'll leave and play another round. He can have the leaver points, I'd rather play another round that will hopefully be thrilling, than just stupid.

By toxic I mean the one who t-bags you a lot and says you’re a tunneler even if I didn’t tunnel him

As a survivor main, I HATE campers. I HATE toxic survivors just as much, so face camp away!

I've only ever face camped a couple of times as killer. Each time it was because of pretty much those exact reasons. Pallet got thrown down, and survivor tbags, strike one. Survivor does it again, Strike... This ain't baseball! Mind gamed him, caught him threw him in the basement and watched him die. Only kill I got and was so satisfying. end game Survivors started in, I simply said, he was Toxic, so I became toxic, to his health! He admitted it and that was that.

  • "...Instead of focusing on punishing killers I'd look more towards fixing the game, adding compensation for survivors who have their games ruined and adding incentives to progress through ranks so the already trivial..."

While that may be incentive to the survivors, it's not a deterrent. Sure, give the survivors additional points, or don't depip the survivor who's being face camped, but what stops the killer from doing this? Punishment could come in many forms, not just taking points or depip them (I don't like the depip though, better killer against worse players...), Or autocomplete gen for each phase the survivor goes through while being face camped, and give the hooked the points for it. You want to see a killer move, watch him leave when the gens start popping like candy because he didn't go do something else. This can be done by the game simply monitoring the distance of the killer from the hooked survivor. You've got plenty of time to leave, but if you're just standing there, (or hell, near there) and not engaged in the game, then deal with the penalty.

Someone said, the killer is there to terrorize you, how am I terrorized if I know the killer is just standing on a hill waiting for another survivor to die? I'm not. I've completed gen's close to camping killers without fear. the game is boring, the round sucks, and I'm ready to leave that garbage. But force that killer to actually hunt me down, instead of sitting on that hook, now the game is interesting.

Similar can be done in other situations as well. Got a killer that just wants to hunt down and slug? BORING. Look at me, I'm on the ground doing nothing, not gaining points, just watching as the killer goes around slugging everyone else! Want to see him start to hook people? Start popping survivors up. just downed your 4th person? the furthest from you just got stood up, and now you have to go chase him. Slugging him again? hey look, 2 just popped up. guarantee you, the killer will start hooking survivors instead of turning it into a snoozer of a round. Now, I'm not saying you can't slug when all 4 survivors are right there, but when you actually go hunt them down. (if Survivor 2, 3,and 4 are +x range away...)

And tunneling(bouncing between 2 survivors, or leaving one to go after the guy just unhooked), because you know, right after getting pulled off the hook, the thing I really want to do is get right back into another chase with you. Annoying as hell! 1st time off the hook, 10% speed boost. 2nd time off the hook? +40% speed boost. Nothing says go chase someone else like a survivor you can no longer catch. (only active while there are 3 or more players in game). Speed boost deactivated when 2(1 in game of 3) survivors get hooked.

If not these, then start building skills into survivors. Up Meg's movement by 3 to 5 %, give Bill the ability to stand up once after being slugged, Build self heal into Blendette at 15%. Then have their respective perks further modify that, so blendette with self heal perk self heals at 65%, bill with ability can stand twice, etc. Make it so there's a reason to buy and play different survivors, not just the killers.

The killer emblem penalty should have been a bonus for survivors instead in my opinion. Penalty doesn't do anything beneficial aside from put killer in games where they're more likely to succeed from camping.

I don't believe the killer should ever be punished for camping. There just needs to be more incentive for survivors to not suicide on hook whether they're going to be insta-mori'd or camped to death. Survivors should get some sort of tell or buff if the killer excessively camps though. I'm a bit biased but something to compel them to hop on a generator if a killer is camping.

The problem you're missing is the survivor you are camping gets nothing and often depips, not because they were bad, but because you camped. The survivors are feeling punished because you chose to camp. You kill their ability to max their points as well; unhook, safe hook, healing, self heal, chase and any related things are gone or extremely reduced. Couldn't a portion of this be considered hijacking the game? Your actions are having a direct negative effect on all players. So why shouldn't the killer be punished? It's his a tions that have caused this.

People make a term for just about anything that prevents them from getting max bp's per trial. You hear terms like genrush, tunnel, and proxycamp and they are rarely used correctly and just a justification for the player to curse the other player(s) out for doing their job. Is it really bad when you hook someone and see scratch marks that are fresh so you patrol the area to prevent a quick unhook? Is it bad to do generators at a quicker rate to maximize your own survival chances? Is chasing someone who you've hooked bad when doing so would apply some pressure on the team now that they let their teammate go unhealed and didn't try and draw aggro? People seem to get mad at this game for everything. When I was a new killer I didn't understand these terms or what the reason was for the hatemail to a fresh player in rank 20. People (at least on playstation) like to attribute anything against them to luck, especially when it was something preventable. My first killer game I hit someone over a pallet and got called a lucky for it when he vaulted too late. Another time recently I got called lucky and a trash (expletive) killer because I hit someone who failed to hit r1 until I was almost directly behind him. People just don't want to accept any mistakes they make and try and make the other player feel bad for playing the game.

In some of these cases, lucky is appropriate, not because you aren't good, but because game mechanics are bad. Jumping out a second floor window, and half way down you hit the survivor through the window, or running to a pallet, making just to the opposite side, pull it down and bounced back to your side, or throw a hatchet that obviously misses yet you still hit, in cases like this you got lucky because game mechanics are bugged.

  • Only time I really hate is when you already have an instant down and take it. Myers in tier 3, with noed, bubba or Billy, or huntress using iridescent heads... really? You needed noed too???

  • The problem is, when you throw every tactic at it, you need to realize 3 specific tactics just aren't fun for the survivor, tunneling, camping and slugging. Add to that, they're point killers for the survivor as well. In detail;

Tunneling - it's one thing to stay on a person too long, but that works to the players advantage as the other 3 are getting gens done. However true tunneling is when you chase hook, and as soon as they're unhooked, chase again. This is just disgusting behavior. No chance to heal, work a gen, catch a breath. And since you decided to do this, survivor loses out on objective pts, altruism pts and probably survival pts, less they get out. After the match, you hear about it and killers just go "well get better." Better at what? They ran you for 3 to 5 minutes total, but the game is designed to let the killer catch you, so you will eventually win that chase.

Camping - some call patrolling gens camping, it's not. Camping the hook right after you hook someone is though. You hooked the person early and make sure he can't be rescued, you just screwed him out of points as well as yourself and his/her teammates. No heal, or rescue, so no altruism pts. After the game you will be called on it and common response "Well you shouldn't work together, let him die." That's as stupid as saying "Well you shouldn't hit survivors, kick gens, use your ability.."

Slugging - knocking down one then another who's right there, not slugging. However when you go searching for others right after knocking one, or camping the downed survivor waiting for someone to go heal, that is. Who finds it fun to just lie on the ground bleeding out? Again no pts being earned, not able to do anything but recover crawl and bleed out earns you a whopping 0 pts. You will get called out, and again the the most common response, that's how the Killer / perks work. That's just pure bull, that's just how you decided to play.

Everyone knows there are plenty of ways to play, and yes, the killer is meant to kill the survivor, but this game is designed for both sides to entertain each other. But is your out to just entertain yourself, and use these playstyles, then expect to be called all kinds of expletives. You've taken a game meant to be fun for 5, and made it all about you.

I have issues with toxic survivors as well, but for this, I'm keeping focused on the killer.

  • No, it's not. b, c, and d are all fine already. It's not knowing who the killer is; if it's Freddy, what add-on's does have, or his perks, knowing those things would give an unfair advantage to the survivors, and yes, detracts from the overall game play. But knowing the name of the person playing the killer doesn't, it gives you a chance to decide if you want to play against the same idiot killer you already went up against and had to deal with their crap. The crap that "Survivors will just create a list..." just doesn't fly when you constantly hear about Killers with their own hit lists, and yes that is a thing. Nothing like getting into a game, getting hooked then Mori'd right after, only to find out the killer specifically brought it in for you, that's alot of fun... for who? just the killer? the game is supposed to be fun for all, and having the chance to avoid the douche bag players, the one's who think "I got a 4k by camping the hook, I must be good.." would start showing them, they're not good, that no one wants to play that way. Rank reset hits, and everyone bounces into the same ######### area where those try hard killers are, and it's an agonizing time trying to rank back down out of their range.

  • I'm not asking for in-game, ground breaking crap, I'm asking the same option outside of the match being given to the Survivor. A killer afraid they'll be dodged against, well too bad, If you weren't a bad killer in the first place, people wouldn't quit on you now, or just because they see your name. Think that's bull, TheArashi is just proved it when he stated; "So you want to dodge good killers..."

  • "People who willfully disconnect for in-game reasons that don't involve game-breaking bugs should stay away from online multiplayer games."

You seem to have missed the point. We do play for fun, to enjoy the game, to be thrilled by the round and the killer. But when you get stuck with just a terrible killer, one that kills the fun of the game, then why should you stay? So the killer can farm salt again? get his points? annoy and piss off the survivors? If you know the round is going to suck, and you're fairly certain it's the same bs killer player, survivors are going to disconnect.

Plenty have said "I'm not here to make the game fun for you, I'm here to kill you." Well like it or not, that is wrong. The killer is there to provide a thrill to the survivors, to entertain them, just as much as a survivor is there to provide a challenge and entertain the killer. If you got into the game as a killer and the survivors just stood there, did nothing and just let you grabbed and hooked them, they didn't try to run, didn't try to unhook or do gens, how fun would it be? If 3 out of 4 of your matches were like that, how long would you play? how long before you start disconnecting to try and get a challenging match? sure you might think it's great at first, but just a short period of time, you will stop playing. The same thing holds for survivors. every time you get into a match where the killer just tunnels 1 person to death, to camp the hook, to slug and just let you bleed out until they finally get everyone, it leads to a boring game. Survivors will disconnect, people will stop playing. Like it or not, the players are there to entertain each other. Remove that entertainment provided by one side or the other, and the game will die.

So along those lines, killers have the ability to dodge rounds already without penalty. They can decide how to modify their skills, change the killer, or just leave based on who and what they see. But survivors aren't afforded that same courtesy. Sure, they shouldn't know who the killer actually is, but the person behind him should be known. Yes some will dodge if the killer is "too good," after all if I know a killer is Rank 1, and I'm rank 8, yeah I don't want to play him, I'm not good enough to challenge him, he needs someone closer to his rank to provide that (you can flip that too,I don't want to play a rank 16 killer either, they're not a challenge and my group will probably destroy him/her), but more often than not, it gives us all a fair chance to decide if we want to deal with that slugging, camping, tunneling, horrid killer or not. And if you are that killer, and you see people constantly disconnecting on you, you're left a choice, continue to play horrid and get in fewer and fewer matches, or change, and start making the game thrilling again.

Right now, I've spent more time writing this out than playing, because after rank reset, That's primarily what it is. 4 out of my 5 last matches were killers just camping the hook, tunneling down survivors, just slugging. I myself have left 3 out of 4 of them because it's not a challenge, or entertaining, thrilling, or enjoyable. Sure I want to rank up, but not at the cost of being abused to do so by some self important, I'm going to tunnel you down, killer. And if i'm not going to enjoy playing against you, why should I stick around? Right now, I and plenty of others just don't want to play anymore. How good is that for the game's health? Like every other company, they want to grow. People leaving the game, less reluctant to play, the game will die off sooner than I'm sure they want. To combat that, changes need to be made, not to the style and format of the game, but to put in checks and balances, to afford everyone a chance to decide without being penalized for it.

  • Nurse was definitely overpowered, being able to blink across the map and back before a survivor could run 10 meters, a bit ridiculous. but the nerf bat hit her too hard. I'm not a good killer runner, but I had no problem dodging and outrunning the nurse, to the point that they quit. (I get lucky, not that lucky though.) the 2nd timer was needed, but 3 seconds between each blink restored is a bit much, needs to be dropped down a little at the very least, otherwise she just isn't challenging to go against as a survivor.

  • This is a joke right? constant nerf's to killers? Vaulting an issue? that's ridiculous. they've taken out insta-heals because killers didn't like it. Healing takes more charges now (16 charges on a brown med kit now and it uses them all on 1 heal). They changed the huntress axe to hit in a sphere shape, now you can hit people you can't even see behind low walls with it. and more. There are plenty of advantages that killers have that piss off survivors.
