  • Not quite, I thought that they could work, they show some intelligence but their gameplay would be pretty similar to killers we have seen so far. Plus, stalkers don’t really have a “unique” design like Clickers, Bloaters or any other infected.

And if you meant about the guy in the garage, I was talking about a guy called Boris, just before the part when you meet one of Ellie’s male friends, that’s as spoiler free as I can go. He was the appointed leader of a QZ town that felt betrayed by his own people so he forced some of his own to get infected. (He’s the infected that you get the bow from)

EDIT: I know he’s not mainstream or relevant to the plot of TLOF but he is an infected, has a unique design, has a weapon besides claws, shows intelligence above the normal stalkers and runners, has a dark backstory, was previously known for his hunting abilities - so he’s stronger, quicker and has greater knowledge of how to kill prey, not to mention he has a name, which is better than most infected.

  • Unfortunately, yes. I believe there was an issue with not actually unlocking the crowns when wearing certain cosmetics. Bad news is that you’ll have to go through the killers again, good news is that the hotfix fixed the anniversary offering so you’ll get lots of bloodpoints for it!

    Good luck!

  • I second the Teletubbies comment, they terrorised me as a child.

Also, these creatures. Not sure if it’s just a British programme but it’s called In The Night Garden.

We don't know the nature of the early game mechanic yet at all, whether it'll be a buff or a slowdown etc. It wouldn't surprise me but it's still just speculation at this point.

    Agree with you otherwise

You are right, it’s merely speculation but I suspect it’ll be near to Scott Jund’s trial warmup, either way, the start of the game will not be in favour of survivors.

Also wraith has wall hack add-ons.

At op, Blendette isn't even that hard to spot anymore unless you play ultra. You learn it through playing, just barely seeing their hair poking out or a toolbox through the grass.

Well unless they’re on the bottom floor of the Game, I want to pull my teeth out when they’re in the corner of the freezer room, almost impossible to see them.

  • Probably an unpopular opinion but I wouldn’t mind a The Last of Us chapter, we already have Bill from a zombie game. The main problem there is the killer, a Clicker comes to mind first but there are a few problems with it (like blinding for example, the infected seem to be immune to light or simply don’t take notice of it).

Thinking a bit more, in The Last of Us Part II there is a random infected in a garage that’s seems to be quick, strong and somewhat intelligent with a unique design but hasn’t reached the Clicker phase of infected so he(?) could work. Not spoiling anything, but his backstory (Its from written notes, it isn’t part of the main plot) is harrowing and he does some dark stuff. Not sure what gameplay mechanics there would be though, maybe they can control spores to spread or disable interactions... I’m not entirely sure.

  • Well if you notice a Blendette in a game, I suggest using anti-stealth killers like Doc, Plague and Freddy.

Otherwise the only way you can catch them is by really listening in for their breathing or grass moving, maybe Stridor could help there?

A normal stealth killer (Wraith, T1 Myers, Ghostface, even Deathslinger really) could help because of the low/nonexistent terror radius, it would make them a lot less scared.

  • Yeah the only way you can get out of this is by running to a teammate, I think it’s intended though.

  • Okay, I don’t see many people talking about this so I’ll add my own opinion. We know there is going to be a universal buff to killers soon, in the form of a slowdown for survivors at the start of a trial to prevent gens getting done quicker at the start, and maps are getting smaller.

Billy is a powerful killer at the moment, he never needed old ruin and can demolish a team within the first minute of a match. If we were to add the start game slowdown to the game, he would be very overpowered along with Spirit and Freddy. Not to mention that maps are getting smaller so all killers can traverse maps quicker now.

If I remember correctly, they didn’t give Freddy his gen teleporting power at the start of the game because they didn’t want it to feel like he spawned next to them and found a survivor right away, yet that’s exactly what a good Hillbilly can do AND at the same time instadown them.

Lets at least wait until the PTB to start deciding on this mechanic though, yeah? I for one think it’s going to be great not having to be stuck around a car loop for 3 minutes while a Billy revs back and forth until I make a mistake.

  • I’m not sure if I’m catching sarcasm but I’d like to remind you that there is going to be a universal buff to killers soon. The Devs hinted that they were working on a way to slow down the start of the game for survivors, that’s probably why Billy was nerfed.

Billy was able to travel to the other side of the map in seconds and could easily take down a survivor team in mere minutes. Combining this with the upcoming trial starting slowdown, his, Freddy’s and Spirit’s power would be off the charts.

If I had to predict, Freddy would get considerable nerfs to his slowdown addons to compensate for the imminent slowdown feature, and maybe increasing the cool down on his teleport and snare abilities.

About the DLCs, they just serve to discourage people from playing this game. There's always a pricetag behind all your favorite characters. I feels like you can't get an enjoyable and complete experience without spending money to get every chapter. At least let us use iridescent shards to purchase them.

And btw, this is pay to win game. There are countless perk locked behind paid chapters that players really need in their games if they want to have a chance, especially since the people they play against bought the chapter and already have the perks. It discourages newer players when they buy the game and think to themselves: "Wait, did EA make this?"

Ummm you can buy all original characters for Iridescent Shards... it just isn’t feasible for licensed characters though.

This is a fair point, but remember, the relative strength of a killer is not always the deciding factor as to why most people choose to play them - ask anyone who plays legion, clown and so on. The good thing about billy was that he was fun and strong. Now he will just be strong (my opinion, obviously). Think nurse as well - she's still extremely strong, but very few people ever play her anymore, because her gameplay loop became more of a chore than something you can enjoy.

Well I don’t think the “fun” factor is going anywhere with Billy. For reference, I do play a heck a lot of Billy, you’re only going to see an issue with overheat mechanic when you rev your chainsaw completely around a loop, if you look at Bubba’s overheat, it’s actually a pretty long time, and don’t forget addons are in place to dull the mechanic.

I understand that people think Billy is fun because a) you can just sprint around the map in laps and b) you can just curve around obstacles really easily.

    A) Sprinting isn’t interrupted which means if you’re semi-good at Billy there won’t be an issue there.

    B) Curving isn’t going to be as bad as everyone says it is- when I curve I don’t do the whole rev my chainsaw and go back and forth trying to mindgame because I think that’s a waste of time, maybe that’s just me though, you might be able to cheese a hit once or twice if the survivor allows it. This does not mention the new addons for Billy to curve with, it looks like those addons are getting buffed (hopefully they reduce the hefty stun of the moonshine).

  • I don’t see your point. The skins ARE optional! “Fuel the developers to keep adding monetised content”... what’s wrong with that? Everything purchasable in the game is the dev’s way of making money, they are a relatively small Dev team when you look at other industries, working on a very ambitious game.

If you don’t like buying cosmetics, why should you care if the prices increase? The prices haven’t increased since they were first implemented, the Devs even have sales! They had a 75% off sale recently, with 50% and 25% off too. The only slightly more expensive skin is the Lisa Garland skin- the Devs have stated that they want new voice acting for her so it’s basically buying a whole character.

The animation, the art assets, these things cost MONEY. Besides that, the art team (as mentioned above) is NOT the same as the playtesting and bug fixing team.

And about the DLCs, the recent SH chapter was under £10, for a completely 2 new characters that would have cost BHVR quite a lot for the Konami license (this is Konami we’re talking about here), including PH, Cheryl and all her skins, Lisa Garland, Konami code Easter egg, Midwich map (which they released for FREE btw)... that must have been a lot considering they’re all from different parts of the series.

  • @KingFrost said:

Probably because they've got a new mechanic coming in that will change the start game, which means current Billy would be much stronger so they had to make changes.

Yes! I’m glad someone finally commented on this. Everyone is screaming about the nerfs when there is an apparent universal buff to killers coming.

Billy does exceptionally well now, with no start game slow down, he can traverse the map in seconds, instantly down somebody, hook and down someone again before the first generator even pops. Both him, Freddy and Spirit are already top tier killers at the moment but with the slowdown at the start of the game, they are going to be near impossible to beat if they’re above average.

They made it so Freddy didn’t spawn with his generator projecting power because the Devs acknowledge how annoying being found in seconds is yet Billy can do the exact same thing AND instant down someone at the same time.

You realize this Billy nerf, will affect Curving greatly, or in fact even destroy it. This Billy nerf isn't minimal, and a good amount of people can tell.

Hold your horses there, the PTB isn’t out yet. We don’t know specifics about the overheat mechanics yet, the overheat timer might be so long that you won’t really see a difference unless you’re revving your chainsaw completely around a loop or camping someone. I like playing Billy a lot and the only way I see this damaging curving is if you repeatedly fail your own curves or like I said, continue revving your chainsaw completely around a loop.

You never know, the addons may just almost completely negate overheat or the curving addons will be new meta, who knows. I’d definitely be all for new Billy metas rather than instasaw and drift king.

  • It would be great if once you’ve obtained a cosmetic, you can change the colour if you have that specific recolour. It could help a lot with cluttered cosmetic inventories. Also I’m a huge fan of the darker purple (2nd) one, it looks amazing!

  • I also think it’s fine as is. If a survivor is catching wind of you coming before you get there, simply don’t look their way. It sounds awful but it works so well. It even works in the terror radius! I’ve gotten grabs as Plague because I suspected survivors had the vault speed build, they trust in Spine Chill too much.

Spine Chill is also the only way to counter Undetectable perks, which are often given for no effort at all (Tinkerer, Trail of Torment, Insidious). Spine Chill is the only way to counter silent bell Wraith or a competent Ghostface.

On another note, Myers and Ghostface can stalk from 40m away while Spine Chill procs at 32m(?), if you’re able to, gain some distance and you can stalk people without them noticing at all.

I guess. However, Bunny Feng would've been considered a set if it was released later and they still were able to make it 3 pieces.

Well I’m also going to add that if you wear just the head piece of the Bunny Feng outfit, it’s passable as a hat because it has the hoodie’s strings attached to it and it doesn’t actually connect with the jacket. With the new Nea cosmetic, having a detached hood would look so strange because it’s connected to the body piece. (With a clear line but I’ve never seen anyone just wear a hood, you know?)

I had a feeling that was the case but you can never be too sure with this community!

  • Okay, too lazy to read the whole thread so I’ll leave this tidbit.

This isn’t going to be a new era of Set cosmetics! Set cosmetics are just to make “complex outfits” that “prevent clipping” as stated in one of the other comments.

Nurse is nurse, usually when nurse uses her blinks onto a survivor, the nurse can almost instantly catch up with them once they are out of the cooldown, then just down the survivor they just injured. Billy is nothing like that, if billy gets into that cooldown during a chase, the survivor can likely take the chance to leave.

You may have misinterpreted what was said. I wasn’t saying comparing Nurse and Billy on a killer ability level, I was comparing their nerfs. The person I quoted said that the nurse nerf was as awful as the recent Billy nerf, which it by no means is.

  • First of all, you said you lose 2 gens on your first hook, that is perfectly normally. At the start of the game, survivors are not being pressured at all and can work on any gen they please. The Devs are working on a mechanic to slow down the trial starting so you’re covered in that regard.

For after that first hook, it is a case of “git gud” I’m afraid. I learnt the hard way that you aren’t going to get much pressure by just hooking everyone and being nice.

Strategic slugging, if you hear a gen being worked on while chasing a survivor, you have to make a decision to abandon that chase if the progress is high or stick with the chase if you’re confident you will get a free down.

Efficiency is key in this game, the longer you play, the more you’ll learn where to go, what hits you can go for, when to abandon a chase. Everything requires practise.

But at the end of the day, if you face a coordinated squad, it’s okay to lose. The better player comes out on top, whether it’s by skill or incompetence. Don’t feel the need to burn your home to the ground, just load into another game and practise. You’ll get there eventually! :)

They're adding an overheat mechanic to a Killer power that is ALSO the Killer's method of travel.

It's a stupid idea. Same as the Nurse nerf.

For clarification, I’m a PC Nurse main, despite how all the killers whine about it, it isn’t awful. You gain one token while in fatigue and you gain another in about 2 seconds, you really shouldn’t be coming out of fatigue and blinking off again.

I will agree that the Billy nerf was uncalled for but I don’t think it’s going to be as bad as everyone thinks. They’ve made maps smaller so there is less distance for the Hillbilly to travel anyway, he’s still a 4.6m/s killer.

  • @Zoomies said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1409893#Comment_1409893

That does not stop the devs from adding equally stupid nerfs to Killers.

Don’t go exclaiming it’s stupid when the PTB hasn’t even come out yet! Everyone on the 4th Anniversary Livestream was screaming how Pyramid Head was too OP, the PTB came around and it was for lack of better words, sad.

  • This is a huge NO. This means that the killer will always catch a survivor on a loop, even if the killer doesn’t deserve to.

This interferes with Deep Wound too, it would make Legion unstoppable.

For reference, Survivors move at 4 m/s, while walking I believe they move 3.8m/s or less, which is the same as Nurse. Nurse would not be punished for not using her power.

If the survivors couldn’t Sprint, that would also mean that they couldn’t perform medium or fast vaults, which also means that they can get grabbed even if they are healthy while slow vaulting.

There would be no 5 gen runs so killer would not be punished for tunnelling down a survivor and not defending gens. This goes against the whole emblem system so they’d have to scrap that too.

Can you imagine how many survivors would walk the entirety of a map to conserve their sprint bar? We already have enough people walking to conserve Sprint Burst.

Not mentioning every single other mechanic that goes against your idea, maps are far too big for this kind of idea... it would be like walking from one side of the map to the other with Nurse, no blinks or addons.

If you want to play a game where you can’t find a match as killer because no one is playing survivor, go ahead.

Everything about this idea is no.

Edit: Added some more points to explain how this idea is a no.

  • Okay I’m not going to bother reading the whole thread and just state my opinion on it.

I am HEAVILY against this. The emotes we currently have are for COMMUNICATION, “come” and “go” essentially. I wouldn’t be totally against character specific emotes that work with said character (Ace finger guns please) but random dance emotes and such would not fit at all. Besides, you’d have to have stationary emotes, if you used any emotes that moved forwards, backwards or sideways, there would be ways to avoid traps, cheese hits and would cause problems with the hit boxes.

Personally I would keep Fortnite-esque emotes far away from DbD but you do you.

  • The Devs said they would like for there to be a completely different voice actress for the Lisa skin. It seems to me like they want the legendary skin to have a whole different persona, as if they were a new character so the chances are they will be changing the lobby name and character portrait in the future.

Bear in mind that this is their first legendary skin so they aren’t going to get everything right first try, it’s possible no one on the dev team thought of this idea and are taking notes of suggestions like this.

This sort of update probably won’t come for a while though, the devs are likely focusing their time on the anniversary event bugs and fixing issues with totem spots, gen locations and collision issues (there seems to be a lot of them in this chapter, even on older maps.)

  • I say yes. The reason the Summer BBQ and Howling Grounds(?) event items were given out was because the save systems were faulty and had lots of errors, this caused many players to lose the earned event items or never receive them at all. The Devs tried to give back all the missing cosmetics but there was a pretty ludicrous week when the forums was filled with “I have 2 cosmetics from ___ event” or “I’m still missing my cosmetics from ____ these Devs are awful”. The save system has improved vastly so that there is a very VERY slim chance of any progress being deleted and even then it’s likely not to do with the server (not counting Rank Update Errors here because it’s a toss of a coin whether you earn those bloodpoints or not).

Thess event items are likely very much exclusive. If you don’t want the “stupid halos” then you could always farm the 4th Anniversary items and offerings- I can guarantee that those won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Nope hardly exaggerated, was a midrange map and left generator I was working on as other two were healing but example is irrelevant.

Like the boy who cried wolf the word Toxic is correct. My unhooking build would also have healed them quickly with borrowed time, perhaps I should have replaced them with perks such as slow selfcare?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1378945#Comment_1378945

Sure but to attempt to unhook yourself and 96% chance of failing each time but predict someone will unhook you before you struggle isn't for the good of the team.

To read some find it "funny" to unhook themselves but fail to see they lose benefits of perks from the unhooker then I guess they are the ones who should be playing in their own 4xSWF as I only want team players like myself when I play survivor.

It’s nice that you were doing an unhooking build and all but personally, I wouldn’t have taken that heal with or without We’ll Make It, it’s still an 8 second heal and that’s 1/10 of a generator, even without my usual Resilience build. Perhaps that’s just me though, I’m confident and competent in chase, by no means an expert but I can hold my own and would rather so called “gen rush” than satisfy some extra point gains. I will say however that it was nice of you to put on an unhook build, I don’t see that very often at all.

You misunderstand I want them as is..but I'd rather give up a charm slot to have them with any head piece..it would be really nice

I see! That would be a really nice idea! I prefer some of the hairs from different cosmetics as opposed to the default (Nea and Feng) so it’d be nice seeing it. On the other hand, if you see how they’ve organised the event, the crowns are attached to the headpiece meaning that they’d have to add a headpiece to every current head cosmetic... which could be difficult.

If you try when someone is on their way, then that's up to you. Maybe they won't make it to you.

But if you're trying it when your saviour is literally right there with no obstacles preventing them from unhooking you, that IS inconsiderate because you've just wasted their entire journey getting to you and taking themselves away from completing other objectives just to satisfy your own self. You would have had a guaranteed unhook.

You decided to exercise an RNG element just because you could with the safety net that survivor provided by being there.

Had that survivor not been there to unhook you should your attempt fail, chances are you wouldn't have attempted it. So in that sense it is selfish and inconsiderate.

If you really want to test RNG, then give up your first stage entirely to it. Put your entire game where you think your strategy is and save others from making the journey to you to unhook you.

You have your own opinion of course but I don’t get why you’d be mad over a free unhook over an RNG element. If someone did that to me, I’d be laughing even if I had Deliverance/WGLF/We’ll Make It. You lose less than 2000 points, I don’t see why people are acting like it’s such a huge deal.

On that note, I also want to say that I don’t attempt if there are unhook missions in the rift because I know how grindy they are.

  • Why get a crown if you’re not wearing it on your head? I think a charm would have been pointless because of how the charms work- if one charm is unlocked for one character, they all are, which doesn’t encourage playing through all the original characters.

  • @PlaysByShady said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1378718#Comment_1378718

Because it was completely unnecessary and selfish to do it when your rescuer-to-be has left their objective and run across the map to rescue you (and be rewarded with points, etc). You literally gain nothing from the kobe, so it's only done out of inconsideration of the other players, and that's what's annoying.

Actually you get 1,500 bloodpoints in the Survival category. I try my hand once if someone is coming to get me but that does not make me a “toxic” player or “inconsiderate”.

There is a 4% chance right there for me to escape that hook, 1/25 games will I get that Kobe. I don’t attempt with the intention of stopping someone of getting points... what else can I do on that hook? I just happen to not get that 4% and now I’m left to reach second hook stage- that isn’t going to help you or me, that is an unhealthy way to go about it and could lead someone to not save you while you’re on the hook.

I’ve seen it happen, one person spams unhook and doesn’t fully unhook the person so no one rescues the spammer from the hook.

If you “ran from the other side of the map” like you said, then it’s more likely that they wouldn’t want to risk kobe-ing because the timer would below 2/3rds anyway. Your example seems a bit exaggerated.

The entry says the Entity "wipes the slate clean." That sounds like it means all memories, but they would have to figure it out eventually between all of them. They obviously interact and share knowledge. How many times are they going to explain to their buddy that they just died and lost their memory. How many times have they "met" each other lol. Are you telling me they don't have a way to record information like Benedict?

This is why I don't like this in terms of narrative. If every loses their memory after every death and is reset to day one, then no real narrative can take place and teachables don't make sense because it's just groundhog day except it's Hell and Bill Murray can't remember what he did yesterday. (Yes I like to think about possible stories that can take place in DBD, shoot me.)

Other than it just not making sense, I would prefer to believe that the memory of the death is fuzzy but they retain most of what has happened to them, but that's not what the Tome says 🤬

You might be right about the ability to record things down. Survivors are able to keep items in the campfire because we can stock up on items. Secondly, the toolbox add-on “Instructions” shows that writing on tree bark will not be erased so their might be ways for survivors to record their memories at the campfire. That would require something on the lines of what I suggested or like you suggested, the memories are there but hazy, maybe their memory of the killer gets erased. The survivors not knowing who they are up against, but knowing that they have to run for their lives would do the job of simulating fear each trial.

  • Okay I might be going out on a whim here but let’s say for instance, that the survivors have their memories of every trial while at the campfire, that’s why teachables work. After being “resurrected” Into a trial, the survivor’s memory gets wiped so allow that fear to fester but once they enter the campsite, they can remember the pain, hence why some survivors are sent to the void. Why it’s called resurrection? Theory- all the survivors are actually dead- it would make sense as all we know is that survivors “disappear” from their own realms.

Alternately, it could work like a win streak. If the survivors escape, they retain their memories and they can teach their experiences, you get more bloodpoints for escaping so you can further your character’s abilities and perks. If the survivor dies, they get less experience (bloodpoints, not ingame exp) in the trials and improve less. Hence why it’s called “resurrection”, rising from the dead. This seems like the more plausible theory as whoever is doing the Blight experiments clearly remembers the pustula plants and how they can modify killers with them.

  • Seems to be a bug because I can still click on the survivor profiles from the match menu. Either it was intentional and they forgot to remove the match menu profiles or it’s a bug.

  • I hope they add cracks, or at least keep the poorly boarded up window on one side of the shack. It gave Ghostface a good advantage and I honestly love shooting through them with The Redeemer and the chain strength addon, can net you a free hit or two.

  • I seem to be the odd one out here but I’m in love with Prestiging my characters. Perhaps it’s more like paranoia? If I don’t get P3 Level 50 on all my characters then I won’t be able to hoard event items on them, because they’ll disappear when prestiging... maybe that’s unhealthy I don’t know.

  • Is this actually a thing?? I hooked someone on Midwich and hit through them to the hook but when I aimed at a certain angle while looking upwards, I was able to hit the survivor. I think it might be a collision bug because earlier I saw survivors can now also pass through hooked survivors while the killer is in the animation, which allows them to do that Borrowed Time “hook tech” that the Devs swore to patch out. Probably a bug.

So no one can have an opinion but the people in the community?

Very "inclusive" of you, very diverse.

Thank you but what they said was completely right- perhaps I shouldn’t speak out about my opinion over an issue where I can’t empathise with the target audience. I really don’t cause offence or accidentally insult anyone!

Edit: I didn’t see that the post had went to a second page and I thought my original comment was deleted! Sorry!

I’m sorry I don’t know how to get rid of two of these things. Thank you for your concern but I think she has some valid points! I don’t completely understand what the community is going through so i really shouldn’t speak my opinion when I don’t understand the targeted point of view!

I would happily loop/tunnel any phobe and make them look like a clown(and not our jolly drunken one), just saying.

I bet you would! Others however may not be as lucky.

You could feasibly say that the killer tunneled you for pride cosmetics if they say explicitly that they did via the endgame chat. But this could be easily remidied by BHVR explicitly saying to not report without the proper evidence.

And not trying to be rude, I understand where you're coming from, but please don't try to speak for the lgbtq+ community without being a part of it yourself. Much love.

I understand your point but if you read over what I was saying, I’m not speaking on behalf of anyone, I’m sharing my point of view on the subject, which might I say is incredibly likely.

Furthermore, I’m not sure how long the endgame chat will be in DbD. Cross play is coming to DbD and Console players would be typing 10x slower than PC players. You might have to be a PC player for the events of what you described to happen. If the killers know that you could get banned for saying slurs in the endgame chat, they simply wouldn’t say anything and boom, you’re left with no evidence.

    Much love in return, also.

People target people with TTV in their name already.. I don't think that's reason to not..

I’m not sure if that applies, I’m pretty sure most people tunnel Twitchies for bragging rights and exposure.

I'd rather be tunneled in game for who I am then BHVR not showing full support because lgbtq+phobes are angery.

I’m sorry if I’ve offended you or something like that, I’m not LGBT+, just an ally, so I can’t really empathise with you.

I just feel like equipping the cosmetics could not only make the game harder for you, but for the Devs. I imagine it could bring a heck of a lot of reports that can’t be solved because there is no evidence. You can’t say “he tunnelled me because of my pride outfit” because the killer could justify it as ordinary tunnelling. I’m glad you’re proud of who you are but I’d rather the LGBT+ Community not have to worry about being discriminated against on a game that is meant to be for enjoyment.

That being said, I suppose you could just unequip the outfit if you felt like you were being targeted for that reason...? Keeping in mind that they are completely optional to wear, maybe my stance has changed slightly- it wouldn’t be wholly a bad idea.
