It would have to at least wait until the loading screen. I'm dodging No Mither players and so would a lot of people lol 😆
If they show them during playtime, soloQ will dissolve itself completely as people will start sandbagging each other because they don't like someone's build. We already have this happening with the Invocation, imagine what will start happening if they see all each other's perks.
-
-10% of a gen is still more than 80 seconds, the amount of TOTAL charges gens used to have for the most of the game's history. So by using the invocation, you are just wasting time AFK and picking No Mither not even returning the gens to the fair 80 seconds. It's a fool's trap. Like the rest of so called "genrush builds": all genrush builds have been nerfed to the ground long time ago, the only gen rush you can achieve now is by bringing toolboxes and playing on comms in 4man, to spend time as efficiently as possible, and you have to hope the killer doesn't tunnel too.

So you don't think a wasted killer chase is strong?
Not as strong as a wasted survivor life the killer gets for tunneling even through all or the OTRs and DSs.
-
Always has been.

It's actually a mystery why flashlight and pallet saves are not considered a "conspicuous action" while unhooking is, even though they are essentially almost the same thing, but the saves progress the game for survivors even better than a simple unhook as they don't spend a hook state.

At that point, there'd be no point in playing the game either…
If the only point playing for you is to farm bloodpoints, it means you don't actually like playing the game.
-
@CrypticGirl said:
It'd be cool if there was a modifier/mode for the farming games. The game would only end when all the gens are done, and then all Survivors get sacrificed. Everyone wins. XD
Or better yet: if there was no grind requirement whatsoever. Like, removing all offerings, addons and items, since they are outdated gameplay anyway, and unlock all perks instantly with unlocking a character. Then there would be no point in bloodpoints and nobody will farm them anymore.

That's called not even trying. I could run a killer for 2 gens while my teammate finished them. But that's not what most people do. They just give up and never get good, and then demand that the game be balanced around their entitled attitude. This is a team game. Your last statement is a total cop out and a detriment to the game.
Please, provide some recorded gameplay where you run the killer for 2 whole gens in 2v1 (3 minutes) on a map with spent pallets, I'm genuinely interested.

After this chapter? Oh hell nah it's not in debate anymore.
Anyway they do desperately need to fix the way Survivors can take the endgame hostage like this or cancel out achievements like Evil Incarnate. It's kinda unfair and it's gotten to the point that if I see this as Surv, I give myself up on principle.
If you are standing in front of a locker with a survivor inside, YOU are the one holding the game hostage, since you can end the situation any time you want by grabbing the survivor and hooking him. For survivor leaving the locker is a sure death, so they are trying to, being a SURVIVOR, to SURVIVE, and you are going out of your way refusing to participate in the regular gameplay.
After this chapter? Oh hell nah it's not in debate anymore.
60% kill rate being the official target has been here for a while, so it's not for a debate for a long time: the devs are officially in favor of killers. Because if 60% kill rate is not killer sided, then I don't know what is.

If this really was the play you were going for, you could always pay attention to the HUD and remember where you hooked people. It just feels like an unnecessary thing at this point that encourages newer killers to adopt this strategy from the beginning.
Then they will just start proxycamping instead in order not to accidentally miss the unhook event.
-
Since going back to the hook to tunnel the unhooked person has always been meta, it's definitely necessary and killer mains will miss the feature if it ever gets removed.

There's a server that by turning off crossplay and going somewhere specific server wise, they have a specific set of rules to max BP categories ASAP and each person leaves every game with 500k BP. If you don't follow the farm rules, you get slugged and bled out. Hens also made a video on it.
Can't find the video you are talking about, could you give a link?

well last 2 survivors hiding endlessly without participating in the intended gameplay flow is considered taking the game hostage and is bannable. i don't make the rules, even though i heavily agree with this one.
and this defense of yours is enough evidence that hatch is a faulty game design.
Well, if you had ever played soloQ survivor, you would've known why players do it. They do it because it's the only realistic way to escape, and not because they are evil and want to "take the game hostage". The faulty game design here is not the hatch, but the absence of any kind of come-back mechanic for survivors, making a 2v1 a lost game if not for the hatch. Might as well just end the game after the second survivor dies then.
-
This is what a 60% kill rate does to a game. When one side wins 1.5 times more often than the other by intentional design of the developers, things are going to be pretty miserable for the less lucky side.
The funniest thing in that screenshot is the fact that this game won't even be counted in their stats because they don't count games where a player DC'd. So the real killrate is actually much higher than 60%.
-
Addons are an outdated game mechanic, they should scrap it altogether and just buff the basekits. Should do the same with survivors' items too, while buffing healing and repairing speeds. The game would be more fun and balanced this way, but instead you can just purchase a win with bloodpoints now.
-
Nurse's basekit should be reverted and her lunge after blink should be the same as a regular lunge.
-
You just hold a 3gen outside while ignoring the dungeon, and have your ez win. But alas, the devs, being killer sided they are, will definitely nerf the dungeon to make it easier for killers and leave the outside unchanged.

doing gens is the only way to achieve that goal, waiting until servers close will result in them dying, so doing nothing isn't trying to survive. hope this helps :)
Finishing gens when there are only 2 survivors left and more than 1 gen left is impossible, but waiting for your teammate to die and then take the hatch or the gates is probable, so they are doing what is the most likely to lead them to the escape. Survivors are not a single organism with one nerve system, however hard you may try to dehumanize them, dear killer main, every survivor plays for themselves and has their own strategy.
-
By the way, the bots of the current version are actually decent at looping and pathing, so if you see someone who can't loop anything - it's definitely a human.
-
@Bafugaboo said:
Got bled out in basement no one helped all not on same platform again.
Those probably were typical soloQ teammates, although I understand why you mistake them for bots.
-
They already increased gen repair charges several times, to the point where soloQ has no hope of actually finishing them all anymore, and it's still not enough for you? How about make them take 30 minutes to fix each and be done with it, to save the effort of the development team?
-
I like how the community here is 100% killer-biased. Everyone is proposing ways to punish the survivors, but nobody has yet proposed to implement some kind of come-back mechanic for survivors, so that they at least can hope to fix the remaining gens instead of waiting for the hatch. How about boosting the gen repair speeds for every dead teammate? This way there would be more incentive to actually try and finish the gens, instead of viewing it as a lost cause. But nooo, we need to punish those survivors even more than they are already punished by the game! Way to go there, right next to the complaints about "why are all survivors giving up all of a sudden?"
-
@bjorksnas said:
Just record it and report the survivors its against the game rules since they just don't participate in gameplay, if they waste a lot of your time they will get punished.
Now mechanic wise we could get something but it might be a while
SURVIVOR, by definition, is someone who SURVIVES. So of course they do the only thing they need to - they SURVIVE. There is nothing to report here.

How do you know you're playing against a swf though? Have you considered that once you sweep the floor with enough players (and I doubt it's just solo, you can't see if they're solo afterall) you rise higher in MMR and therefore start to face more difficult opponents which makes it harder to win? That is, after all, how the game is designed. It's not designed for you to 4k every single game, and you will get harder opponents the more you win. Now you want BHVR to nerf your stronger opponents so you can compete at a level you're not up to? That doesn't make sense
And you refuse to accept BHVRs stats, yet expect your own experience to hold more weight despite just assuming you are facing swfs?

I never said anything about my own experience having more weight in general, all I said is that one should not use as an argument some unconfirmed "stats" from a clearly biased party (devs providing a few unconfirmed numbers once in 2 years showing that the game is balanced and the devs do a good job).

Some people don't have mics. Some people may not know english / language well enough. Some people can't or don't want to talk for w/e personal reasons.
The last thing you want is to hear how your mother is great in bed from some 12 y.o kid who has God-Knows-When bought mic that catches every fart or noise 1 mile around it's location. It's the community that we have that makes mic communication with randoms not the most pleasant experience.
Now when I think about it, proxy text was probably a bad idea given how things do work in the game ( you probably wouldn't have time opportunity to stand still and type something in ). Perhaps a proxy wheel chat could work better. At the very least few extra gestures could be introduced for communication.
As for balancing SoloQs and SWFs - from my understanding devs don't want to separate those. They won't introduce MM for parties apart from standard MM ( we even don't have Casual / Ranked MM ). They also likely don't want to add custom rules to SWFs as they want SWF's have the same experience of the game as SoloQ ( even if they don't since they can communicate and coordinate better via VO chat ).
Nice, SWFs can broadcast the exact coordinates and actions of the killer every tick, while soloQ will get a few extra gestures. Sure, it will definitely fix the SWF vs soloQ issue.
devs don't want to separate those
Of course, as said earlier, they don't want to do anything that would require extra effort. They are good at coming up with the most ridiculous excuses for why they can't or don't want to implement a specific feature. Every their stream went like this: they say they are thinking about implementing one feature nobody had asked for in the following years, and also explain why they don't want to implement a few dozens of other frequently requested features.
they want SWF's have the same experience of the game as SoloQ
It literally sounds like a joke, considering SWF experience is nowhere near soloQ experience at the moment.
-
What in fact severely imbalances the game is the ability to play on comms in a game that was designed around lack of communications, where you have whole perks that gives you information you can otherwise get for free with discord. SoloQ survivors don't even have a simplest text chat, while SWF can talk in discord. The information is the most expensive resource in this game, and SWF get it all for free, while it's impossible for soloQ survivors. The ability for killers to avoid this is just a countermeasure.
In the hypothetical chance that killers get access to this, why wouldn't survivors be able to do the same?
As I said, they should, but only soloQ.

SWFs eat killers is the past. Avergae 4 players SWF is 43% escape rate, top MMR is 48% escape rate.
Only good SWFs eat average killers, happens quite often because how hard average killers try to climb to high MMR.
Those are "stats" provided by BHVR in an attempt to calm down the community and prove that the game is balanced. Not a single evidence of those 43% escape rate has been provided since. In my killer games I wipe the floor with soloQ survivors and can only hope for 2 kills against SWFs, producing a few gallons of sweat in the process, but usually it's just 1k, and it correlates with experience of other killer players. Wherever they pulled that 43% escape rate from, it's nowhere near what can be observed in praxis, so until someone actually gathers stats with evidence instead of just drawing pictures with numbers, it's pointless to talk about "stats", especially about those provided by BHVR.

So…Now killers are just saying the quiet part out loud.
"Let us freely lobby dodge because there's a SWF in my vicinity and I'm terrified."
So, I'll answer your question with a question; Why aren't survivors allowed to see what killer they'll be going up against? Y'know…so we can avoid having to deal with someone extremely frustrating to face.
If your immediate thought was "Because that'd be unfair?" or "Because any self-respecting survivor would leave the match immediately."
You just answered your own question.Nice us vs them, but the DbD foodchain goes like this: SWFs eat killers and killers eat soloQ. So it's only natural for killers to seek shelter from the constant SWF bullying, SWFs on the other hand don't have a moral right to dodge anything since they are the kings of this game, they always win unless they decide to just goof around. But the ability to know the killer for soloQ players would indeed be fair.

Proxy or normal voice com with randoms - not gonna happening for lots of reasons. I'd suggest a proxy text chat option but I doubt that will happen too.
Option to see each other's load-out mid-game - still not happening.
How you expect to fix SoloQ? What is the definition of fixing SoloQ when all SWF advantages such as option to organize your loadout and basically share info on distance are the only things that make SWF different from SoloQ.
not gonna happening for lots of reasons
What are those reasons that apply for DbD, but for some reason don't apply for TCM, for example?
proxy text chat
Proxy text chat? Proxy and text? You serious? Not even mentioning text chat is not going to do the same thing as discord does.
How you expect to fix SoloQ?
Balance the game around soloQ, not around SWF and then apply penalties for SWF players. A lot of players suggested slower gen repairing speeds for them, but it's a simple example, anything could go. Another option: two separate queues for soloQ and for SWF, with separate rules. Another option is to make all the information perks that SWF imitate with discord basekit for all survivors. There are a ton of ideas how to fix it, you can look it up, there used to be a whole booklet on how to fix DbD circling around the community. The problem is not a lack of ideas, the problem is that all ideas are actively ignored or rejected by BHVR because they don't want to bother implementing anything. They don't see a problem until the problems manifests into falling profits, it can be said about every major problem DbD has, including cheaters, outdated gameplay and broken balance.

So basically the only answer you'd accept is the one you agree with. Because plenty of killers chime in these threads stating they don't have problems winning against SWF too.
Look up what an independent and unbiased source of information is.

Statistics show that 4SWF has only a 4% higher escape rate than soloQ, so few killers should avoid the lobby because of that. Survivor wait times will not increase even if implemented.
You are talking about that funny picture with numbers BHVR presented as "statistic" on the "trust me bro" basis, which does not correlate to the real experience of players. We need an independent source in order to talk about statistics.

Because this way SWFs wouldn't be able to play at all, since every self-respecting killer would just dodge them.

Couple of things.
- The entire industry has been having layoffs, usually of 10-20% of the company
- BHVR has, as of 2022, 1300+ employees.
- 95 would be around 7%, and likely they have way more than 1300 now.
This is likely the restructuring of a team, or initiative within the company that resulted in some people not having jobs. For example, maybe the teams around a cancelled internal project etc.
BHVR has, as of 2022, 1300+ employees.
And how many of those actually worked on DbD? Judging by the quality of the game and the speed of implementing features, no more than 100, so what projects did the rest 1200 work on?
-
Not you alone. First they add a ton of killers who ignore pallets, ie the only way survivors have to defend themselves, and then they complain about the rising amount of survivors going next on the first hook.
-

Its not SWF vs solo. It is simply efficiency. I play exclusively solo queue when i play survivor. The amount of times that i get hooked, and i see someone crouching in a corner of the map, someone doing a chest, and another "hiding" nearby to immediately unhook me before the killer has a chance to blink is astounding.
If survivors just "did gens" in solo queue, those matches are a breeze for me when they happen, but they are rare.
The SWF illusion is that you can pick your teammates, so you know that they are usually going to be doing something useful.
Except they have comms, which give them coordination and huge information sharing soloQ has no access to. SoloQ doesn't even have a simple in-game text chat.
-
That was SWF. If you played against 4 soloQ players, you would get your 4k at 3 gens. The core balance issue here is SWF, not gen speeds.

This is why almost all cheaters you encounter in the game are from EGS, so you see the globe if you are on steam and they still can type in the chat.
-
Yup, the amount of "subtle" 105% boosted survivors is getting out of hand. It's especially funny considering it doesn't even require so many hours of experience in the game to easily tell when the survivor is definitely moving too fast with no proper reason, even if it's just 105%. And if you focus and tunnel them - they don't actually last that long, unless they toggle to the fullest, since people who think 105% speed in this game is "subtle" are usually not that experienced in the game, so holding Shift+W meta only gets them so far.
-
Somehow nurse is the most susceptible to this, sometimes you can't hit a survivor who is literally at your face.

You know that the results look different for high MMR. But besides that, you think that everybody complaining about swf is high MMR?
As if what they provided as "stats" is a proof in itself. Until we get a live stats feed 24/7, there is nothing to talk about when we deal with those funny pictures with numbers the trustworthy and reputable devs provide us once in 4 years.
