I am in the middle of your response: I dislike BNPs (and toolboxes in general) as they still unfairly speed up gens in my opinion, but I also dislike tryhard playstyles like purposeful tight 3-genning as killer (as well as hardcore genrushing), and so the only time I'd really ever use a BNP is if the killer is 3-genning/playing very unfairly or unfun.

I focus solely on fun in DbD, not winning.

I totally understand why killers hate them. And I honestly do think they were buffed tremendously, rather than nerfed.

  • I love them now. I save it for the last gen no matter what. They are way more dangerous the longer you can hold them. Very effective in a 3 gen scenario.

  • There's many counters to made for this.

    Exposed perks / add-ons

    Exhausting perks / add-ons

    Hindered perks / add-ons

    Stealth perks / add-ons

    Know when to drop chase.

But stick to your slow down perks and complain when you can't catch survivors. The meta has changed. Time to adapt.

I do think made for this will be eventually nerfed. But you need to actually try to counter builds that you don't like going against.

Also, hope doesn't need to be nerfed. There are no issues with it. People are now only upset because it's being used with Made for this.

  • As it should be. Window hits have been bugged for a VERY long time. Glad it's been finally fixed.

  • I don't think they should regularly miss them. I also don't think they should miss struggle checks or wiggle checks. Maybe if the the survivor had been running any type of gen perks like hyperfocus, they have a slightly increased chance to miss. But they are missing way too often right now.

Edit: forgot to actually vote before commenting. So: Yes - Very rarely

  • Nah, my botmates are being tunneled out very quickly. Or just killing themselves in various ways. Like missing skill checks on struggle phase. Crouching by windows until they get downed. Not allowing people to heal them. Etc etc

  • The reason he's become so annoying is one of the most reliable counters against him is to remain healthy as much as possible. And with the nerfs to healing, he's pretty strong right now in the meta. Bringing the best medkit with charge add ons may help, and just keep it for yourself.

  • I went against a wesker recently running a similar build and he scared the living hell out of me. It was hilarious.

  • This will never be implemented. Much like basekit Unbreakable. The PTB will come. SWFs will find a way to abuse it. The killer mains will flood these forums with countless threads and it will get cancelled. So I wouldn't hold out hope for this at all.

  • This perk can be nuts. I was watching that streamer who's the #1 ghostie. And a Jill dramaturgied a syringe right at the last moment in end game and he lost the game.

  • They weren't behind you they were in front of you behind the window or whatever it is.

I have like 3 games and then get a headache, even when I'm getting 4ks all the time it used to be so fun plus the survivors aren't helping, what did I do to deserve the god awful, heart wrenching, life threatening t-bags😭

Also if ur gonna get mad at this post keep it to yourself I'm having a good week don't spoil it

Play with some personality. Do some weird mind games. Act the fool. Let the survivors know you're not sweating. Just have fun chases and don't focus on winning. This game doesn't even have a win condition.

  • I previously said I wouldn't use it because it wasn't that good. But this turned out to be a lie LOL. I love this perk and I am certain it will be nerfed so enjoying it while it lasts. With the reworked buckle up the endurance part of the perk is now a bit redundant though. They could really take that part off.

  • They will crouch near an unsafe vault and just repeatedly vault it until they go down. They really are not good. I thought they were much better at first. I think they may have been tuned down since the PTB. They were godly when I was watching streamers DC during the PTB. Everytime I get one on my team they die very fast.

  • They also miss struggle skill checks. Had one miss two in a row and die. They also miss wiggle skill checks quite a bit, it's hilarious.

  • They miss struggle skill checks, I had one fail both back to back and die.

  • I've been thinking about it and I'm kind of torn now. Hook suicides do no one any favors. But if they are removed, can you imagine how people would play? They would straight up sandbag, go AFK, lead the killer to teammates, etc.

At the end of the day, the killer had to down them, carry them to a hook and hook them. Survivors may have gotten half a gen done by that time. At least it's something.

  • There really needs to be some sort of moderation on repetitive posts. It's exhausting to read the same regurgitated post about the same thing over and over. Talk about echo chamber.

  • It amazes me that people don't understand that they've been fully condemned. Her power was so inconsequential before that most players just ignored TVs completely. She is very strong right now. I finally had a match last night where 3 of us were actually holding tapes. The bill was fully condemned just doing gens until his ultimate demise. She has counterplay but it does slow down the game quite a but.

  • I'm guilty of wall hacks I guess, but the skeleton key is the only one worth using and it's ultra rare and needs a very rare add-on to even work.

No one is using the add-ons that show teammate Auras, that's just a waste when you can run bond and get value the whole match.

If you're that worried about key escapes then just slug for the 4k like everyone else I guess?

Keys need to be buffed if anything. This can't be serious.

  • I never work on gens in a jungle gym until I know who the killer is. Choose a gen that has plenty of view from each angle.

Sprint burst is a good perk vs stealth killers. However many of them run fear monger to counter it.

  • Yeah, I really don't understand the logic behind showing the prestige levels in lobby. It really serves no purpose other than giving the killer info that they really shouldn't be getting anyways.

Who's to say a p100 is going to play a certain way or bring certain items, add-ons, offerings etc.

It really diminishes the integrity of matchmaking if anything else. I keep my survivors low prestige on purpose. The highest I have is p30 on zarina and I still have 5 survivors to get to p3 and then I'm on to p3 on all my killers. I'm at 1750 hrs currently and I am thinking I'll be well over 3000 hrs by the time I p3 my killers.

So yeah, prestige really doesn't mean anything. But for some reason people go apeshit when they see a p100 in the lobby and start playing like it's some sort of major threat. Weird.

  • "Going next" needs to be addressed. I'm not going to sit here and say that I haven't done it myself. Because I have. Because its a very reliable way to get out of a match you don't want to be in for whatever reason. However, I do think it's a problem. I'm sure the devs can easily come up with a solution.

The flipside of that is that spiteful survivors may just go AFK or play in some other spiteful way because they have no way to go next. So it will have to be approached carefully.

  • Open handed isn't a bad perk at all. It's amazing on certain builds. Bond, kindred, windows of opportunity and a skeleton key with blood amber and prayer beads. It's a solid build!

It also affects your teammates. As a bond user I love getting teammates with open handed. It's so helpful.

  • There's not many survivors who will view slugging as friendly, though. Most find it annoying. I've also faced many "friendly" killers who intentionally draw out matches while claiming they are friendly. So, basically just play the game normally and if you want to be friendly give someone hatch.?

  • I still don't understand why they didn't make her power more interesting. There's so much they could have done with this. What a lazy design.

  • I go through phases where I am dying like 9/10 matches. And others where I'm escaping like 50% of the time. I'm thinking it's my MMR going up and down. I either get killers who just bought the game or ones that totally dominate trials. I only play solo queue also, so there's that.

Pretty much all hte boons are very underwhelming and niche. Even the best one (shadowstep) is okay at best

There's 2 ways you can go about it I think. Make boons single use, but make their effects map wide. Theyre strong but once the killer snuffs them theyre gone for good.

Or give individual buffs to every boon perk + a small range increase to all of them.

I like your idea but they'd be too strong map wide. I'd say make them 64 meters and shattered hope Basekit. This would he pretty balanced imo.

I had an ace and Jeff like this on the RPD the other week. It was me and Rebecca with Gunslinger just trying to figure out what was going on. We even tried to get the GS to hook us but they'd made it so he couldn't. Did all but 5 gens instantaneously and kept reverting the final one (atop the stairs) to zero every time we got to 40%.

The ace left early on but the Jeff stayed for ages and held us all hostage. It was bizarre.

That's insane. I haven't had any that bad. And luckily I wasn't held hostage but I was expecting it. He basically auto opened the gate and left. I wanted the nurse to hook me so I could record the auto sacrifice hack but she refused. Oh well. I messaged them after the match and they said they just wanted to let everyone go after they saw they were hacking.

  • I'm glad they're gone. I can't count how many times I had teammates just rebooting the same totem and wasting everyone's time.

  • Yes, blight is a good killer. Felix has some decent perks, as does Blight.

  • I have no issue with any hex perk, as there is obviously clear counterplay to them. They should be strong given they can cleansed during the first 2 minutes of a match.

  • I don't think the answer is to nerf every strong perk, killer, add on etc.

But to BUFF the weaker ones. That could balance the game better.

I personally find wesker fun to go against. But that's just me. Yes he's strong but there is counterplay.

  • Best you can do is make sure you take the box to a safer place. Like as safe of a loop you can find. Don't just solve it where it spawns unless it's got a good tile nearby.

You always want to solve the box. Chain hunts are brutal and trying to solve it p one of those is going to be hard.

If you notice someone is being chased, if possible, try solving it while he's carrying a survivor, because he can't teleport.

  • The only thing that annoys me about this perk is when your teammates beat you to the unhook. Like, I'm trying to activate my deliverance bud.

  • Thanks for sharing your reason to tunnel. It's been added to the archives.

Damn survivors, how they dare to teamwork?

Yeah, it's almost as if this game is a 4v1 or something?

  • There are situations where it isn't bad. If it's been a hard fought match, and the killer is backed against the wall. The survivors have accidentally 3 genned themselves and the killer really has no pressure. That is understandable. Three genning is bad when killers are designed to be masters of it. Three genning is bad when the killer prepares for it at the beginning of the match, refuses to commit to chases and intentionally makes the match take ages to complete.l

And all the while, the survivors were not doing generators.

    right.

So survivors are body blocking you while doing generators at the same time? Your games have been rough!

  • There are killers that would never see a match against real players. Skull merchant, knight, maybe wesker, nurse. I do get why people get frustrated with these killers. But ruining their game experience because the DC penalty was removed is unfair. Yes people will quit no matter what. But having the ability to DC whenever you want without any consequences all? The game would go to ######### literally in days.

  • Old sabo meta was overpowered. One survivor could Sabo a hook for the entire game. Instablinds were overpowered and were nerfed. Body blocking is not overpowered. It takes teamwork and risk. Multiple survivors making a play to save each other is not overpowered. You likely got one or two hits in the process. And all the while, the survivors were not doing generators. Please stop with this nonsense.

  • Only aura perks with a finite range, emanating from the survivor themselves. The aura cannot come from a generator or the killer, etc.

Kindred, Bond, windows of opportunity, visionary, plunderers instinct, left behind. I can't think of any more right now.

It also works on keys with aura reading add ons like blood amber, and the ones that show survivor Auras.

It does not work with maps.

Maps are the most consistently useful item in the entire game.

Keys are still useful, but you can't go into games playing for hatch from the start. They have lots of other effects that are useful.

Alex's toolbox is consistently useful for sabo, it's literally never changed.

Flashlights have the same consistency they've had for basically most of their existence.

If you really needed 4 heals out of a ranger kit to have fun then you have different issues outside of item consistency.

I agree with most of your points except keys. They should be buffed imo. Yes they can be used to open hatch but aside from that the skeleton key is only one that is remotely useful. And blood amber and prayer beads are basically the only useful add-ons. Unique wedding ring is kind of cool if your running a niche build. They should at least buff the charges on the lower keys. Maybe 20 secs on dull key and 15 on the broken key. Just to make them somewhat viable. And the survivor aura add ons are redundant when you can use bond and get lots of value out of it for the whole trial.

  • Body blocking shouldn't be an issue as far as survivors go because it requires teamwork (survivors not sitting on gens). I get its annoying but every single time you nerf survivors, it just leads to more grn rushing. I wish killers could understand this.

  • I'll always be upset I started playing after this dlc was no longer available.

  • I really do not understand why BHVR allows this.

    REMOVE COLLISION WHEN CROWS FORM.

How hard is that? Can anyone tell me a reason why it's not implemented yet? Is there a good reason against it?

  • Give it a 4 second stun and remove the damn skill check already. As some have said, the skill check punishes newer players who are the most tempting tunneling choice for killers. 5 seconds would be good too but I'm trying to be realistic in what devs would do.

I wasn't around for the old meta where DS was being abused, but I'm fine with perks that deactivate end game. That's why end game perks exist. End game is a whole new ball game so running an end game perk is never a bad idea.

However, perks are never going to solve the tunneling issue. Until devs address it at its core, it will continue.

Replace all gens with coffins, with survs already in random ones. All the killer has to do is go around and close them. Confetti pops with each lid closing. Last lid you hear the nails driven in and the Entity/Nea chuckling in the distance.

Please 😆 this comment is everything LMAO

Most of the hex perks are so devastating? That's true basically only for Devour Hope.

Rest can be ignored and it's usually not worth looking for it. Luckily spawns are trash, so you will find it sooner or later while chasing or working on gen.

Devour hope will need to be nerfed if they are going to buff hex perks.

Blood favor, third seal, (buffed) crowd control and ruin are all very strong hexes. And obviously the only ones being used. Crowd control is going to be a very scary hex once the buff is released.

And certain killers, huntress lullaby is kind of scary as well. Pig and doctor come to mind.

I hardly think survivors will want to ignore those.

  • Hexes are not bad. Ask any survivor main. Yes there is a risk of them being cleansed early. But given the strength of their effects, it's certainly warranted. If you want your hex to stand you will need to defend it. And if you want to make it harder for them to cleanse then there is undying, thrill of the hunt, etc. Most of the hex perks are so devastating that survivors will be stupid to not drop what they're doing to search for it. Yes, some hexes are a bit weaker than others, but they all can be devastating to survivors, depending on killer, map, add ons etc.
