You sound delusional in the first part of your reply, sorry. This isn't a conspiracy theory at all, but in modern times its popular for people to say that everything's a conspiracy theory when they refuse to believe it even when sufficient evidence can be provided

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TWQVUIJQL3A8/2ec7edea3cdc86d04510c8c630b7afcd.png

This is one of DOZENS of posts that you can easily find on a daily basis popping up in all of the Facebook groups as well as the DBD Discord. People blatantly admit to suiciding or DCing if they get caught first or if they go against a Killer they don't like or for multiple other petty reasons now more than ever before. This DID artificially inflate the percentages because this behavior has seen a pretty clear uptick since the patch in July.

I'm not going to get caught up arguing whether or not people are disconnecting. Of course they are, for many different reasons, killers also disconnect when they don't like the way a game is going. It has nothing to do with the topic at hand. I will say though, it isn't some grand conspiracy to make kill rates artificially inflated. People have always disconnected.

Probably that means game is rather balanced, considering how many people play SWF and all solo players can also always choose to play with friends.

The majority of survivors play solo queue, and their game experience should be just as rewarding as those who play with friends. We all bought the game, and we all deserve to have an enjoyable experience playing it. If the game is balanced around a 4 man swf, which has the fewest players then 80% of survivor players are going to have an unenjoyable and unfair experience.

The %'s have never mattered in regards to either role because balance is not determined by ignoring the context of gameplay and solely focusing on the end results. 50/50 doesn't mean what a lot of you think it does and I'm shocked that some people still don't understand how this works

According to you the game is balanced even when it has broken mechanics on both sides as long as 2 people escape and 2 die. That is nowhere close to balance and you're really exaggerating how much the 61% means. We literally predicted this weeks ago when they had their huge July patch. Many smart veterans already knew on day 1 that people were going to be spiteful towards Killers getting shown some love and were going to sandbag eachother, DC early, suicide on first hook which artificially inflates the % and then turn around to use that same % as some evidence that they're oppressed

Let's not pretend this game is in any way balanced. If you have to resort to conspiracy theories about "evil survivors artificially inflating kill rates" as if survivors have a clubhouse somewhere making these decisions then your argument is in bad faith.

This game will only be balanced when solo queue is buffed to have the level of information swf gets for free, and when all killers are at the same power level and follow the same game rules. Unfortunately that is near to impossible to achieve in an asymmetrical game, but that doesn't mean that the devs should give up on trying to make it as balanced as possible.

Simply blanket buffing all killers to brute force their way to a win with increased bloodlust and pallet breaking speeds was a band aid fix that was unnecessary for the strongest killers and nowhere near enough for the weakest. All it served to do was make the game feel unrewarding for survivor players, and the stats reflect that feeling of unfairness.

  • Well, setting aside any data, the game feels unbalanced and unfair right now for solo queue survivors. The stats are secondary to how the game actually feels to play.

The power role gets 61% efficiency, shock horror

I'm so fed up of this "power role" nonsense. This is a game, not your weird power trip fantasy. 4 survivors should have the equal strength of one killer. There should be no power role.

Why don't we make it a 39% kill rate for killers and a 61% escape rate for survivors, since this acceptable.

Exactly. Killer mains want to pretend this is fair, but they would be screaming if it was reversed.

  • It is insanely boring, I just want a bit of variety. It should settle down soon though once everyone gets bored of playing him.

I wish they wouldn't force RPD on us quite so much as they have though, it's literally almost every game.

  • Swf will abuse anything and everything but I don't see why a well timed head on shouldn't be a counter to his dash.

If you suspected something you could have pulled them from the locker or baited it out.

  • It was terrible then and it's still bad now.

  • I'll try and grab them, but they usually just throw themselves at the killer anyway. I had a Yun Jin once who wanted to suicide on hook and she was so mad that I saved her she brought the killer to all the rest of us and sandbagged us until we all died. That was fun.

  • orca-image--1314976961.jpeg

My friend spotted this a couple days ago, I wouldn't have thought this was even possible.

  • This is why I always make it a point to leave as soon as I know my teammates are safe. No point in being a jerk and rubbing your win in someone's face. Unfortunately some players are just like that, but at least we can all point and laugh at how pathetic they are.

  • You shouldn't have to care about other players fun, that's true. The devs, however, should absolutely care if there are unfun gameplay elements in their game. It seems that they are taking an interest in camping and tunnelling and will try and nerf it in the future. They have recently added basekit BT as a sort of band aid fix.

I would strongly encourage you to find better strategies before it is gone for good because crutching on tunnelling will only take you so far and you will struggle when you can't do that anymore.

  • I've been using new dead hard and I absolutely love it, it's so much better than old dead hard because it feels like you outplayed the killer.

Of course the animation is super embarrassing when you time it wrong and you're just dabbing for an eternity.

Old dead hard was fun for getting flashlight saves and things like that of course, but the sheer versatility of one perk (being able to avoid traps, shocks, attacks and gain distance) just made it too strong.

  • @Seraphor said:

Map offerings are the only things that make stealth killers, especially Mirror Myers, viable.

Frankly, I think maps should be a part of the killers build, not something the survivors can choose for their advantage. This is after all the entity's realm.

So I think survivor map offerings should be uncommon (yellow) offerings that give you a 25% chance of going to a certain map. So if survivors really want to guarantee it, they should bring all four.

I'd also rather map offerings were hidden rather than removed. Most of the 'gripes' people have with map offerings are knowing that they've been sent there, yet when they get the very same maps through pure luck, they don't care. So if you just didn't know, there wouldn't be a problem.

Not the worst idea in theory but this would just widen the gap between solo and swf. The problem isn't when solo players bring a map offering, it's when swf do.

In my eyes, either everyone should be able to bring a map offering or nobody should. Hiding the offerings is a good idea though, for sure.

  • The killer meta is back, when the devs said they wanted to shake it up, only for survivor it seems. That along with anti-loop killers like artist, basekit buffs, insane gen slowdown perks and survivors get 5 second BT, it's a joke.

On top of all that I've never in my life seen so much tunnelling and camping as I have since the last patch dropped. I could excuse it before the buffs but not now.

  • Killers should have perks like lethal that make the game start quicker. It's difficult to find survivors sometimes especially for new players, and gens really fly at the start of the game.

I'm a survivor main and it's fine to me, but if you don't like it distortion is there to use. I've been running it and it's been a life saver, even if you spawn with another survivor they won't be looking for two people in the same area.

As for mid game, lockers, shadow step, distortion. You could also run object of obsession so you see them every time they see you as well, good info for you.

If you DC because the game got more difficult, more frustrating then you are making the case for the argument you oppose. As that means they DC because they cannot win as easily anymore, need to adapt, they feel entitled to an easier time, their ability to flaunt infront of a killer and still win.

The simple answer to the underlying reason people DC is entitlement and unwillingness to adapt. It is just sore losers that want to ruin other people's fun when things don't go their way.

I disagree with you. The entire experience, especially playing solo feels unrewarding. Now that killers have been buffed it feels like good plays are less rewarded by the game mechanics. It also feels like survivors are getting overly punished for the mistakes of their teammates.

I am not endorsing disconnecting, but I understand why people are doing it.

I used to try to talk to them and get them to see how they might hurt people. I'm ashamed to say I was one of those kids once too. I didn't grasp that my words held power nor did I particularly care.

Talking to them never really worked out and it started to weigh on me heavily. I eventually just turned off all of my messages.

You did the right thing just turning them off, I had to do the same thing. This game really gets people heated for the stupidest reasons you're better off without the hate.

  • @Kalinikta said:

We are speaking about people that DC and cheat... Are they playing the game?

Disconnecting and cheating are obviously wrong, but we have to look at the underlying reasons as to why there have been so many disconnects recently.

Honestly, the reason for all the disconnects is probably because the game feels unrewarding and frustrating on the survivor end. It isn't because of the nerf to dead hard or that they can't bully killers.

  • @Kalinikta said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3105903#Comment_3105903

And people are fed up with the excuse that their fun and them losing justifies ruining the fun for 3 other people... If you don't want to play the game and yes losing is acceptable in games, just don't play it. It is entitlement just play out the game. Sometimes you lose, sometime you win, just grow up and either play the game or don't bother logging in this is a multiplayer game it isn't just about you. Want a game solely for yourself, play a single player.

When did I say I don't want to play the game? All I said was that most people don't go into it to bully the killer, and that I've heard that argument too many times.

  • @ausanimal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/338432/the-reason-for-dc-is-really-simple

Survivors just have to learn to wait this out till the devs have enough info to know what needs changing, DC over a match is not going to help them get the info they need any faster, Killers have had to go though the same thing to both sides have and after a while the devs will make changes.

What is fun to a survivor is it being able to bully the killer as much as you can, chases or getting out. If its being able to bully the killer that gives them no right to DC because they are upset they can no longer bully the killer.

The average survivor does not want to bully the killer, they just want to have fun playing the game, just like you. I'm so tired of this argument.

  • I agree with you, survivors are supposed to work as a team but get none of the information they need to do so.

Solo queue desperately needs buffing, and to do that they need to be comparable with swf. Bond as basekit is just a step in the right direction though in my opinion.

  • There are bad people in every group, it's not just a survivor thing. That being said there's no excuse for that kind of behaviour.

  • Oh yeah survivors are the only problematic players on this game, despite the fact that I've personally seen:

-Plenty of killers disconnect and afk mid game

-Killers purposefully dropping their mmr by afking from the start

-Toxic killers that slap every survivor on hook

-Lots of whining on the forums about how the game is survivor sided (even still)

  • For me the main problem is tunnelling, there's zero counter to it now and I'm seeing it over and over. If a game is going slightly in the survivors favour all a killer has to do is tunnel a survivor out and it tips the scales immediately.

There's no strategy that even compares to that on the survivor side. Thana legion and plague have always been annoying imo but I'm not too fussed about it, it's just annoying how often you see them now.

  • It definitely helps on some killers that rely more on a slugging play style. That said, it does feel annoying to get a killer that slugs with this especially in solo queue where there isn't really any counter.

Not sure why they thought this perk needed a buff, it hurts solo survivors more than it helps any killer. Also, the audio of the perk makes me feel a little sick.

  • @ColonGlock said:

If sweaty means less time to point at each other and run backward sashaying back and forth then yes, when you load in the match it is time to play the game or die.

The "play survivor and win without really paying attention to the match" which is what survivor is famous for. That experience has changed for sure and I sympathize.

I have been playing solo survivor with just Empathy, Botany, Leader, and Kindred and earning plenty of points even if I get sacrificed.

I'm not saying that survivors don't try hard to win, or that it's ever been a mindless role by any means.

I'm just trying to say that many of the things that were fun about survivor are slowly being removed and replaced by unfun mechanics that affect everyone but the most try hard swfs. Why would any new player want to pick up the game now that it is so unbalanced?

  • @Dunkinspunkin said:

Yeahhh you're not playing swf. My advice stands. Like it or not.

I solo q just fine though

Solo queue is a feature of the game and should be playable for anyone. The way things are right now, it needs some buffs. Solos are necessary for the game, someone has to top up your three stack, and so those players should have a good experience.

Glad you're having fun though sweetie, all the best.

Here's some advice. Make literally one friend and the entire game is a million times better. This is not the only game where solo queue is a toilet. Is it that hard to make a friend, guy?

I have friends who play, but we aren't always available at the same time. Also, is it that hard to learn some manners?

  • @toxik_survivor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/337501/had-such-an-awful-night

I understand this game is like nicotine but you have to take up the courage to take a break and come back tommarow. Play some minecraft or Ark

Oh, I'm taking a break. I just don't know if I want to keep playing at all unless they do something about tunnelling, which sucks.

  • There's nothing wrong with bbq, it's a good perk requiring a hook before it activates. It keeps the game flowing because killers can see where to head next, and it gets them away from a hook.

I'm a survivor main, but I can see so many merits from it. If you don't like being spotted with it you can jump in a locker and avoid it.

RIP to the bp bonus though, undeserved nerf.

I think reducing movement speed would be very strong, a bit too much.

Maybe the turning to stone thing could be either a Mori (that would be extremely cool as a survivor to stumble upon the fear-stricken shape of your past teammate, set in stone...) or a mechanic similar to Pyramid Head's cages as a replacement for hooks ?

Yesss, but only if their statue remains in the trial so I can stand and point at it. That's a requirement.

Bhvr definitely needs to do this and take my money.

  • @HugTheHag said:

I'm doing for the esthetic, and I think it would be cool if the animations for grabbing or hitting people could have some of the snakes curling in front of her face and be visible in first person !

I wonder how her "canon" vision based power could translate in DbD... That being said, it would be possible to have another Gorgon with different mechanics, the same way Magic : The Gathering has Vraska as an assassin but without turning people to stone.

Maybe as a passive she can slowly turn survivors to stone, reducing movement speed if you leave it alone but if you go and grab a hammer and chisel you can slow its growth. Then again, that would be extremely annoying hahaha.

  • I love this idea, what would her power be?

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

It is starting to annoy me a bit, to be perfectly honest. With everyone throwing, the game is not really fun as a survivor or a killer. It was alright at first, but it has been happening in literally every game so it is starting to get to me slightly.

Me too, I'm sorry you're having that experience. We should all be able to enjoy the game. I paid for this game, I wanna play it!

I understand their frustration though, a lot of average/solo survivors just feel like they can't do anything to have a fun game this patch. That being said, they need to at least try, it's just making the experience worse for everyone.

For me if they aren't enjoying the update they just shouldn't queue up at all. Once player numbers drop that is a much better protest to the changes.

  • Yeah I know many people are leaving this patch. I really want to try and stick it out, but why would I when playing survivor feels like a chore now?

Everything that's even remotely fun on the survivor side gets removed because it's "overpowered" or is used to "bully killers."

Most of us don't want to bully anyone, we just wanted to play a fun game, and now there are no fun mechanics. It's just a gen simulator, with occasional chases and getting tunnelled.

  • If solo queue had all the information that SWF had they would need as basekit:

    -bond (map wide)

    -kindred

-rookie spirit (or something like it)

-The ability to see other surv's loadouts in a lobby

-a callout system (killer's on me, I'm going for the save)

These are all things that SWF get for free, and then they can play whatever perks they like on top of that. This is why solo will never be as strong as swf. If we actually did get these buffs I'm sure the community would cry and they'd be nerfed in a day anyway.

  • They should just make hooks akin to pyramid head's cages and be done with it, unless it's basement. I'm so sick of it.

On the "strategy" aspect, yes sometimes it is very helpful to tunnel someone out, but I've experienced it enough at 5 gens to know most people just do it for an easy win.

  • It also annoys me that every time you prestige you have to go back to the itty bitty bloodwebs that have like 4 brown items. I like 'em big thank you.

  • NOED is annoying but it's not really a problem anymore, the totem is easy to find. As for DS and OTR, I don't agree they should deactivate in endgame, the killer could always go for the unhooker instead of the unhooked, but why would they now they can ensure a free kill? Now it's just the most boring and annoying part of the game.

  • When people are disconnecting because they don't want to play your game anymore it is a problem.

People can say it's scummy to disconnect and it is, you're ruining the game for your team, but if people are throwing games en masse it means something is wrong and the game isn't fun.

Increasing the penalty won't do anything but encourage people to pick up another game in the meantime and forget about dbd. Why wait ten minutes to play a game where you're just going to get crapped on?

  • You're kidding right? Killers whine about dead hard for so long but now you wanna give them one every 15 seconds?

    This is hilarious.

  • You're brave to praise dead hard on this forum. This place is killer main HQ.

  • I never used CoH before this update but now I run it every game. It's way too helpful in solo queue to take off now.

  • "This is my patch now" a meg teabagged him and all of a sudden he's become a supervillain.

  • I kinda like this one, the Mikaela skin is super cute.

  • @Araphex said:

I typically play solo q and do just fine. It was actually a bit worse before the update. Now I notice that I don't generally get punished because another survivor made a bad play and got hooked/killed. As long as I'm nowhere near the killer or capable of escaping a chase without making a mistake myself, I can still get out alive.

And yes, you're right about that. But many complaints lead to the recent changes. So now we complain about what we wanted? The devs listened to the majority of the community from both sides, as they should, and made these decisions. My overall point is to wait and see how things are in a month or so. Maybe longer if it has to be until the community adjusts to the changes. I'm just tired of the complaints when the community hasn't even gotten it's feet wet yet. Especially when this is what we all wanted to the most extent.

It's the opposite for me, I feel like I'm being overly punished for the mistakes of other survivors. Since they go down faster it means less time on gens but at least someone's having a good experience on solo I guess.

As for your last point, you're right, I guess we just have to wait and see how things pan out, but I really hope solo gets some love soon to bring it closer to swf.
