I see your point, but I think it's a stretch. I do not deny than killing does take some time, but saying it can last 3 times as long as your regular hooking is probably an exaggeration. I agree that time is a valuable resource, but as I stated a few times, I do not necessarily expect those mori perks to be competitively relevant. It's mostly for flair if anything :)
Of course, I'd even be happier if they were good, but the very "binary" power that is killing is kinda hard to design in a way that's both interesting for the killer competitively and balanced.
I don't say it's impossible, but my expectations aren't so high, because this would probably require a lot of balancing work from the perks, whereas my request is first and foremost to allow these animations to happen more easily and often in-game, cause they're fantastic and they're also a more enjoyable experience for both players, in my opinion. (from my experience, even Survivors don't mind getting killed if it's not from a Memento Mori).
I'm not even sure if it's the longest animation but I watched ghost race's and it was 14 seconds. If someone is downed next to a hook you can definitely pick them up and hook them within 5 seconds. So yes, like I said, it CAN be up to 3x as long.

This is what my game looks like on pc and i get a solid 20 fps. The game has pretty bad optimisation. So if your pc is not the best like you said you would probably have a hard time running it. But console is not much better ether.
hahaha are you running that on a potato?

If the person is on their second hook (or heck maybe even their first if the 5 stacks came from the other survivors) then the mori animation would still be faster than the time it would have taken to chase them again for for the next hook or two. But I guess everyone evaluates their time differently. Heck, you could run Devour Hope simply for the exposed part of it at 3 stacks, and not bother with the mori at all, nothing wrong with that too.
He said it would be after they have already been hooked twice. You'd have to down them again. You're thinking that he meant hook them once then down them again and mori, which isn't the case.

I don't see how killing them is a waste of time over picking them, carrying them and hooking them.
Because the animation for a mori can be 2-3x as long as it would take to hook them. Time is not on your side as a killer, especially nowadays.

I know many killer players have reached red ranks and did so relying on ruin or toxic builds/play styles. With the new ruin nerf, it seems many of these unskilled red rank killers will now be pushed back to purple or green ranks, which seems like a good thing.
So in a way is the new ruin nerf helping to sort or filter out some of the more unskilled killer players from high ranks? Isnβt this better for game in long run?
Most survivors in red ranks are garbage, especially nowadays when you can face rank 20s even if you're red rank.

Only thing that is worse than a bad loser is a bad winner. Never t-bagged a killer at the exit gates, except when he camped / tunneled the whole game.
So you only give them the middle finger when they're just playing the game normally? Seems legit.
-
LOL I could see these being real because they're all about bullying the killer.
-
I like the idea but using a whole perk slot to be able to waste valuable time killing someone instead of hooking them is no good.
-
I honestly highly doubt it'd ever happen, even with him being my number one wanted killer.

Maybe you just need a break from killer?
Try out survivor, I hear Doctor is very fun to play against now.
Or try out some CIV, that's a pretty fun game.
Is he though? He's one of my least played killers (he's only level 8 for reference) because I thought he was boring. He's super fun to me after the changes so I started playing him. People are almost always salty but with the matches I was playing yesterday as doctor, the salt levels were at maximum. Which I loved btw. πππ
-
Asking survivors to not be toxic is futile. They are excited about life with any exploits they can get their grimy hands on.
-
So if you play how survivors expect you to and hook everyone 3 times, that's one hook every 20 seconds to get a 4k by the time the match is done. Eat my ass πππππ
-
-
Tunneling and slugging isn't mean, it's part of the game. But I hate when killers allow survivors to live. It makes legitimately surviving less important. I don't allow survivors to live and I don't let a killer let me go.
-
You'll be back. But I'd also expect someone it's a name like yours to be a cod player π
-
LOL seems legit.
-
If a Ruin is still active at the end of the game that means that you're playing against potatoes and you never needed it in the first place.
-
All of the meta survivor perks aren't necessary to win. Let's nerf decisive strike really hard and see how survivors like it. π
-
They will if enough baby survivors complain.

If that's true then I'm leaving :( until they fix this issue :( I cant rank up if I keep facing high rank players:(
I was going to stick around but with me facing against high rank players it's not fun for me:(
It's the opposite for me. I'm in red ranks and having an easy time ranking up because I keep getting matched with noobs. I don't like to stomp people. I want it to be as close of a match as possible
-
Tl;dr: Survivors are toxic (duh), OP mad at the fact that he can't effectively have a smurf account for ez wins.
-
I play for fun and generally fun means either doing well or at least having a close match. It's not fun on either side when it's a complete wipe. I love the matches that come down to the wire.
-
I've gotten accused a couple times here and there but only one time seemed like I actually was. For some reason after I got unhooked and healed, I had a permanent speed boost like when you get hit. Well semi-permanent at least. Once I fell off of a ledge it reset me back to normal speed.
-
Cool blog post bro.
-
So you're mad that you can't have an omega med kit? Woe is you.
-
Dead Hard is very easy to see coming the vast majority of the time. Always assume that they have it, don't swing too early, and remember who has it if they use it. Just get good.

Doubt it. Have you seen the responses the devs have given. They were essentially telling killers to "Git good". If they saw the problem and had some plans of fixing it, they would have mentioned it, rather than let all of this toxicity go on. Based on their complete lack of acknowledgment of the underlying problem, I don't have high hopes of a real fix anytime soon, if ever.
Yeah they were telling killers to git gud but then baby proofing the game for the baby survivors.
-
Yes it's been like that for quite some time now and the devs will soon be hiding ranks so they can cover up their problem.
-
Being Toxic is doing things just to annoy or harass. It has nothing to do with any legitimate tactics such as slugging, camping, looping, etc. Being toxic is hitting survivors with your weapon while they're on the hook, flashlight clicking, teabagging (ghost face too), letting people bleed out on purpose, etc.
-
I'm having a hard time having fun in this game just knowing about the incoming changes. Survivor is boring. Killers are easy to bully. Meh.

If there's only 20% of players playing as Killer as of now, RIP to this game after the next update.

Its also really good on Nurse and Spirit.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ih1Ha_TNDCE&t=13s
8:50 is a good example of why its good on Spirit.
Hey so I'm not sure why but Otzdarva used to annoy me and I wouldn't watch his videos. Maybe he had a video or two that wasn't that good and that's all I watched from him. but now I've been watching him a lot. Some of the things he does can still be annoying here and there but his videos have good effort put into them and you can learn a lot of different things. so thanks for getting me to watch him. :D I used to watch tru3ta1ent a lot but it's tough to watch him anymore because he's getting so burned out on the game and obviously needs a break. He's always so salty as of late.
-
I think you shouldn't pop out of your feral frenzy with a missed attack. It should just have a longer than usual recovery on a missed attack.
-
I'm just wondering why hair looks even worse than ever lately. Especially on Oni and Spirit. It's see-through and you can see Spirit's black head underneath.
-
It can be stressful because it actually takes a lot of micromanaging and skill. Survivor is easymode.
-
There's certain killers that will become nearly obsolete at higher ranks with no Ruin.
-
It would create some incredibly broken but fun things. It'd be fun as an unranked mode. Imagine a basement camp with bear traps and hag traps. hahaha
-
-Queue times
-Sometimes people climbed the ranks due to an imbalance in the game
-It's a nice break from sweaty matches if you're high ranked
-Somewhat deters purposefully down-ranking
-
I've seen it and I hate it. But good for you if you like it.
-
Seems like the ruining has already begun. This pleases me. Every killer that the devs pissed off will make 4 survivors not be able to find a match.
-
Meh, this isn't fortnite.

Pretty sure it originally was, but it got changed like a week after release due to how useless that is. Since the majority of your chase time as Legion is against injured survivors, you only need to get 1 cheeky hit in, making the perk work really well on him.
Gotcha. I haven't unlocked it for legion yet but I'm in queue to try it on ghostly boi which is actually my main along with legion.

That video has plenty of examples, but 9:45 and 11:20 show some REALLY good plays that highlight the perk.
Wow, I must have either misread the perk or remembered it incorrectly. I thought it was rushed actions OUTSIDE of your terror radius. I watched both of those examples and it does seem good. Definitely going to give it a try, thanks :D
-
Dbd is a salt mine because the devs don't know how to balance their game and it breeds toxicity. It's best to avoid the chat and try to have fun.
-
I suppose! Haha
-
Insidious, Distressing, Bamboozle, and Brutal Stength.
-
A better question is why are so many people coming on the forums to complain about it? Use the in game feature. We all know it happens.
-
@LordGlint said:
I'm all ears is pretty handy. I know Otz swears by it, EXPECIALLY on Legion. I've tried slotting it into my Legion build, and as long as you have LOS blockers...you can make good plays with it.
Can you tell my why he likes that perk? I can't watch his videos, he's annoying to me π
