  • I’d like to see Scratched Mirror Myers get a speed boost of 150%. 😘

Trapper to get faster trap setting speed and a base-kit movement speed boost for 7 seconds after setting a trap. Maybe boost his speed every time a Survivor disarms a trap instead? Let them test both.

    Doctor hallucinations run at Survivors.

Nemesis Zombies instantly teleport to a downed Survivor and start t-bagging.

Trickster gives up the knives and gets an machine gun.

Skerchant gets reworked to stand on her drones and flys around the map. She laughs maniacally as she throws pumpkin shaped bombs at Survivors.

    Wesker gets a shirtless cosmetic.

Freddy gets the rework @GeneralV wants.

bating a good nurse ain't happening she fundamentally breaks the game to so many level they just need to rework het tbh and what you've described is the counter to nurse for every time she hook some one that ain't a counter just her breaking the game in general she get endless pressure for just existing

for your 2nd point in glad they wont for one reason when 2v8 get's permanent it will show all the flaws that 1v4 has 2v8 fundamentally solved 95% of the issues that exists currently in 1v4 outside of slugging and will become the dominant game mode just because the base game of that game mode is more healthy in general for both sides

Incorrect. It is very possible to bait a good Nurse. Even if you can’t, with two people, you can body block and force her to hit one of the healthy players and not the recently unhooked person. Current Nurse is fine and doesn’t need a rework, especially not one that BHVR loves to give that ends up completely neutering the Killer and making them frustrating to play like they did with Twins, Freddy and Skerchant.

The Nurse doesn’t break the game any more so than Sweaty SWFs who coordinate on comms that let them get free information perks. She just forces Survivors to play differently, mainly focus on juking, mind games, LOS and even use stealth, just like how sweaty SWFs on Comms force Killers to sweat much more than they normally would to even stand a chance.

2vs8 didn’t show any flaws. It’s a different thing on its own. The only reason hooks teleport is so Killer A doesn’t hit the unhooked person only for Killer B to down them a second later. Don’t get your hopes up on teleporting hooks coming to the base game any time soon.

vs nurse tough doesn't matter her being outside of the "anti face camp" she still in your face because of her power and there nothing they can do about it she need tbh a rework she break the game in so many levels hell i'll be even more blunt 2v8 fix most of the game issues hook are a obsolete mechanic lmfao the cage system made the game more healthy on both sides

If she uses a blink to get back to the hook, she only has one blink left. A teammate can bait the M1 and take a hit while another actually does the unhook.

They’re never going to get rid of hooks. It’s a core mechanic that play styles and perks are centered around. It would be too much work for the Devs to remove them, change all associated perks and come up with an alternative way for Killers to apply pressure. Whether you like it or not, intercepting a rescue and preventing an unhook is one of the core ways a Killer has to slow the game down.

Green maps could do with a slight range increase, I think.

I’d like all maps to have glass bead as base-kit please. It would help with getting teammates to prevent a 3-gen or cleanse a lit totem. At the very least, make glass bead more common in the blood web.

Other than that, I don’t think items need a buff, but rather, we need new items to keep the match interesting. We should get trip wires that have different effects such as revealing the Killers aura or slowing them down for 3 seconds. I’d like to see a one time use roller skates that give Survivors a short speed boost like Sprint Burst, but make it difficult to control like the Syringe that Killers get during Halloween.

If the end result is that the killer is almost immediately back at the hook right when a survivor is unhooked then no AFC didn’t achieve anything. The purpose of AFC is to give survivors a chance to get unhooked so they can play the game, not get unhooked and be almost instantly downed/unable to play. Additionally, sometimes if people see a killer proxy camping they’re not going in for an unhook, so that’s no different than when killers face camper closer than 12 meters before AFC. If AFC is such a grand feature why wasn’t it in 2v8 this way? If you got within 12 meters of a cage the cage moved. It didn’t produce a bar, it just moved across the map.

The Survivor on the hook is just not progressing their objectives which is reasonable because they lost to the Killer in a chase. Saying they’re not playing the game is flat out wrong.

The end result is that the AFC mechanic achieves its goal, which is to stop face camping, which was a major complaint that Survivors had for years. As such, it now gives the Survivors more of a chance to work with their teammate to get the unhook.

If a Survivor is too chicken to rescue when the Killer is proxy camping, they can go get a teammate to help them. Unhooking shouldn’t be risk free if the Killer gives up pressure on gens and is trying to confirm a kill. If the unhooked person goes down instantly after getting saved, they’ve misplayed. Especially since they have BT built in. It just means they or their teammates didn’t perform well enough.

Cages teleported because there were two Killers and Survivors would have no chance at all if they both decided to camp the hook. You’re comparing apples to oranges. The two modes are not the same.

  • The game would be more fun with old Ruin+Undying and Circle of Healing back.

Not sure if you can say it is working, when it fixes a problem which never really existed.

And when looking at the screenshot, there is 0 difference if the Nurse would be facecamping or standing there. And in fact, it does not really make any difference if any Killer is 12m away or facecamping, they are back at the hook when the unhook happens.

Face camping did exist and it was a problem. Now it no longer exists thanks to this mechanic (which is improved with base-kit BT and the removal of hook grabs) and is no longer a problem.

12 meters does make a difference. It just doesn’t guarantee a free and safe unhook if the Killer decides to apply pressure.

  • Claudette was recommended to me by the forums as the best beginner friendly character. I ended up liking her design and voice more than anyone else’s (except Carlos, he’s too gorgeous). I also love how polarized the community is with her. She’s also super cute.

So yes, it does its job

This thread is literally showcasing that it doesn't.

Actually it does. The feature stops face camping, which it was designed to do. It was never intended to remove camping from the game.

If that’s what you want it to do, feel free to start a new topic in order to discuss that and what you’d like it to do instead of how it currently succeeds in what it’s intended to do.

God forbid Survivors get to play the game

seriously, complaining about "devs won't take away Killer agency" in response to a a complaint that the current state of the game can allow a killer to deny a survivor all agency and force them to hold a hook for 140 seconds? reads as someone who thinks survivor players exist as servants to fill your Killer lobbies, absolute disrespect. could not disagree with your perspective more

You disagreeing doesn’t make you correct.

This is an asymmetrical elimination game where your opponent will always have the advantage over you when it’s one on one. As such, the one playing the stronger role will have more agency than the one playing the weaker role. If you want to face an opponent on equal grounds, go play a fighting game like Tekken.

You can complain all you want about “the current state of the game”. This is nothing new and has always been possible since the early days of the game. It’s actually gotten easier to get unhooked than it ever has. AFC mechanic gives Survivors more of a chance to swoop in for a save, base-kit BT gives the Survivor a buffer to get to a tile and hook grabs have been deleted, making it easier to bait an M1 and letting another teammate rescue.

"It's not anti camp it's anti face camp"

It's not a complaint about the mechanics not doing what it says it'll do, it's a complaint about how the mechanic fails to prevent unfun gameplay. Nobody cares "it's anti face camp" get out of here with that nonsense

It’s not nonsense. It does what it was designed to do. You not caring about the differences between AFC and Anti Camping ≠ everyone’s opinion.

Devs are not going to remove camping in general and take away Killer agency just because Survivors don’t like it.

If the OP wanted to discuss un-fun mechanics, they should have been more constructive with their post rather than just whine.

"It’s meant to give Survivors more of a chance to coordinate a rescue"

Wrong, this changes nothing because the timer doesnt go up when a survivor is close to the hook, which means the killer can just go back and forth when they see a survivor coming to the rescue

Doesn’t the Killer have to spend some time to go back to the hook vs just standing by the hook before AFC was introduced? That traversal time should be enough for a rescue if Survivors didn’t just rush the hook and let the Killer see them coming a mile away.

So yes, it does its job. It was never meant to make unhooking totally risk free for the unhooker.

  • It’s not Anti-Camp. It’s Anti-Face Camp. It’s meant to give Survivors more of a chance to coordinate a rescue, not make them immune to all of camping. Seeing as how the Killer had to stay outside of its range so it doesn’t procc, it’s doing its job.

I’m also pretty sure the Killer would have been happy for you to go next. It’s your teammates who are the ones that are affected the most.

  • I’m all for it as long as Claudette gets Fluffy as her cosmetic. She looks good in purple.

Except when you teabag, you still have to run for your life or die, cant do it for 4 minutes straight. You dont have that option as a slug.

Doesn't change anything. They’re both toxic. If one isn’t a bannable offense, then the other shouldn’t be. As I said before, the only thing that needs changing is a reduction of the bleed out timer.

One issue is, you can't really know if they are a coordinated SWF until it's too late usually. If you play nice under the assumption that you are against 4 solos, then suddenly you get flashlight saved at a clutch moment and everyone is taking hit for each other at 1 gen.

This is a more general problem in DBD where you never know how sweaty your opponents are until they pop that clutch syptic in your face and now it's too late you're already screwed. Because of that, you tend to assume everyone is sweaty by default, and so the game effectively becomes sweatier.

I'm not in favor of SWF-specific nerfs but at least it would be fair for the killer to be able to know who is in SWF with whom, since it has such a huge impact on gameplay. Not even talking about the winrate, but there are perks like Rancor that lose 90% of their value if the obsession is in SWF, and you would play very differently with this perk if you coul know you are facing a SWF.

I meant stick to stronger Killers as their main and just not play weaker ones. It sucks, but if you don’t want to take any chances, it’s all you can do.

  • There’s nothing to fix. According to BHVRs stats, their win rate isn’t much higher than SoloQ.

Just match their energy. If they rush gens, rush kills. If they sabo or bring in Boil Over, slug them. If they play casually, do the same.

I just suggest you play a stronger Killer like Pinhead, Nurse, Blight and Larry. Weaker ones with no mobility or secondary objectives don’t really stand a chance against a good SWF that knows how to loop. That’s not a SWF problem though, that’s a BHVR problem with not improving M1Killers.

  • Honestly, a match shouldn’t ever go longer than 25 minutes. It starts to get boring after 10 and 15 feels like a slog. They really should just reduce the maximum match time to 25, 30 max.

  • Nope. Seeing how long they took to rework Twins only to trash what they came up with and settling for minor buffs to only nerf them again, there’s no reason to hope for anything different with Skerchant.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I'm not sure what happened either. I feel like it's been going downhill for the past couple years. I've been mostly playing killer this week despite the incentive being on survivor. Not even the extra bp is enough.

I think that the more seasoned players might have reduced their play time if they didn’t already just quit and what we’re left with are new people used to playing fps games and can’t handle a game like this. They’re too used to being able to respawn and having equally balanced opponents.

Asymmetrical games are rather niche and lots of people expect perfect balance thinking if they play good enough they’ll win and that’s not the case with dbd since there is too much RNG and the fact that the solo side is inherently stronger than the “optimal” team side.

It also doesn’t help that Survivor is harder than it looks and that it’s expected that they’re going to lose a lot until they get better. Nor does it help that the game does nothing to properly teach players how to loop and counter Killers. Don’t get me started how bloated the game is with different variations of Killer powers and perks that you have to remember.

  • As cringe as it is I don’t think it should be bannable as long as T-bagging isn’t.

The least they can do is finally reduce the bleed out timer by 50%.

Parasyte/Kiseijuu would be rad. A killer whose cosmetics that would entirely rely on non licensed Survivor cosmetics just seems like a win/win for everybody.

I could see @Huge_Bush being a "Claudette main".

But I can already switch roles as Claudette at any time. Do I have good, respectable teammates? I’ll be the best Claudette I could be and take hits (even if it means going down), do gens, rescue and whatever else I can do in order to help.

Are my teammates the scum of the earth whose only goal is to harass the Killer while t-bagging and flashlight clicking at every pallet? Oh, you need a body block? I’m sorry, this dull totem is in need of cleansing? Oh, you want me to pick you up from the dying state? I can’t, sooorrrry, but this chest is in dire need of searching. You’re on death hook and are being picked up by the Killer while I have a flashlight? Oh gee, my aim is bad, I only know how to aim at crotches or the stars.

    1. More Bushes
    2. More fog
    3. Return of Blendette
    4. Serial DCers get matched up with each other until they play 10 straight games without DCing or Suiciding on hook (before 3 gens are done and without self unhook perks).
    5. Bleed out timer is reduced by 50%. Survivors don’t waste much time on the ground bleeding out and Killers are pressured to hook sooner.
    6. Carlos is no longer a legendary character becomes a separate character with a whole new wardrobe including a shirtless cosmetic.
    7. Chat wheel.
    8. More emotes and introduction of Dances (I know it’s not for everyone but I wanna see Trapper twerk).
  • I hope they forget about him so they don’t do to him what they did to Skerchant and Freddy.

    1. Invocation: Summon Glock - After completing the Invocation Ritual, a Glock is summoned and can only be used by the original summoner. The summoned Glock can be used to incapacitate the Killer for 7 seconds or be used to Mori that useless teammate who was allergic to gens during the match.
    2. Hex: Breakdance: Two lit totems spawn on the map, lighting a fire in Survivors booties. Survivors randomly breakdance during the trial. Breakdancing prevents the Survivor from vaulting or working on an objective. Must cleanse both totems to deactivate.
    3. SpineChill+: it’s the same as the old SpineChill before it was nerfed. Oh now I miss thee.
    4. Scourge Hook: Should have left. Must hook 4 unique Survivors in order to activate. Causes any Survivor who stays in the exit gates for more than 7 seconds to become exposed and get rooted in place by the Entities Claw.

I know what you are talking about - in dota it's called: - "Low priority system".

But dbd just simply can not afford it due to player count, since Low priority is a different game mode with it's own q times.

Dbd just doesn't have enough players to have a permanent different game mode. Unfortunately.

This is why I'm just trying to bring some moral into some of players and encourage them to play the game for the sake of other players. Not ruin the experience of others in the match.

It won’t hurt to try it. I’d be more than happy to wait 5-8 minutes for a match if it meant my teammates would actually try to play. Even if we lose, it’s better than being teamed up with an entitled brat that can’t handle being a part of a team.

  • The best solution is to queue up serial DC’ers in their own queue so they only ruin each others games. They can make it to where they can get back in the regular queue after playing through 10 matches without DCing. Probably should include people who suicide before 2 gens are completed and don’t have Kobe perks equipped.

  • It doesn’t need a rework. I wouldn’t mind if it got buffed to have a two token system. Also, if it manages to hit the Killer in the head, it should force them to grunt.

  • It’s not supposed to be relaxing. It’s the role that has to keep interacting with and go against 4 different people. By its very nature it is stressful. It gets more stressful when you want to win as much as possible and gets even worse when you’re playing a non-anti loop Killer.

If you want to have less stressful matches, I suggest you master the Nurse or The Cenobite (people sleep on him, he has a high skill ceiling but once you get good with him, he’s super oppressive). You’ll suffer until you get the hang of them but you won’t have as much frustration as you’d get from playing other Killers.

  • The devs probably don’t want to admit their idea is bad. I can’t see how this will make them money when they start selling new Mori animations. You’d think they’d want Killers to perform a Mori more than once a match in order to advertise them .

If they were smart they’d just make it to were a Killer can Mori the last Survivor as base-kit and leave the red-Mori alone.

  • I have over 5k hours. Most of it was due to addiction. I was never a horror fan but something about Dbd just clicked and I got addicted to the adrenaline rush when I got chased or was evading the Killer right under their nose. I also switched roles when I get tired of one of them.

Covid Lockdown also helped bump up my play time. These days, I don’t play as much as I used to. Honestly, I spend more time watching anime/shows/movies and browsing Reddit and these forums than I play the game.

It’s not just burnout but the fact that games like this have no consistent end game. Like, I’d play more if every chapter brought with it a Fashionable Cosmetic(full set) and a unique hairstyle for Claudette that needs to be unlocked by playing more and doing something other than the Rift. But they don’t love Claudette enough to give her something every month.

I'd want the pack to be Sweeney Todd as the surv and Amber Turd as the killer honestly. Their imaginative killer power could be…

lol! It could work as a Cosmetic Pack. Amber Turd could be Hag or Skerchant.

  • Claudette is all you need.

(I may be biased but that doesn’t make my post untrue).

In all seriousness. Pick whoever you think looks the best. I recommend female because they’re smaller, making it easier to hide behind things.

Some advice since you’re new. Don’t run Self Care. It takes too long and is a waste of a perk slot. It’s best you take in a med-kit and use it when your teammates can’t heal you. My favorite healing perk is Inner Strength from Nancy (Stranger Things Character). You cleanse a totem and it queues a heal for you that all you have to do is go in a locker for a few seconds.

I play 70-80% survivor and always soloQ but sure… I still stand behind my words. Looping is valid. Learn which killers require more W smashing and who you can loop around a pallet.

I don’t even have to loop much (I’m bad at it). I just let go of the gen and run when I see the killer coming towards me in the distance. It’s a 50/50 if they kick the gen or come for me and then I just go around the same pallet two times (I know we can juice it for three but I’m a coward) and then I use Lithe to gain more distance and breaks LoS and Bush away or waste more of their time at another pallet. Usually 2 gens are done by the time they down me if it’s at the start of the match and my teammates aren’t allergic to gens.

I think some people just won’t be happy until the map spawns three shacks that have two windows.

  • Maybe they’ll do the smart thing and let them operate as their own little group and not interfere too much?

I feel like this ability, on top of everything that has been suggested, might be a bit too strong, my friend.

I mean, it is already a powerful kit. Adding something similar to Hag's ability, which is pretty powerful, might be a bit too much. Could be worth a test, though.

I purchased him not long after Stranger Things because I was new and everyone said he was strong and easy to play. I found him unimaginative and boring. Haven’t touched him in over 4 years now.

No one can blame you for not wanting to play him. I took him all the way to P100 and not a single one of those games were as fun as they should have been. As they would have if we still had OG Freddy.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3805838#Comment_3805838

I'm confident you will play him someday, my friend.

I thought so too, in regard to the teleport pools. But I think I got something with the arms coming out of the ground. It could just be another trap that he can cycle through like Vecna does with his powers.

He could set a transparent rectangle on a floor or wall and when a Survivor triggers it, hands come out and latch on to them. They don’t have to root them in place immediately. They could pull on to them until the Survivor succeeds at like 5 merciless storm skill checks that pop up in different spots on the screen. If they fail, they get stuck for 20 seconds or until a teammate gets them out.

Probably too strong but I want more movie references and I want him A tier!

Yeah, Freddy is in a bad spot right now. He has been in a bad spot for the last five years.

First with a power that was unhealthy for the game, and then with a power that is both weak AND unhealthy for the game.

And don't get me wrong, you can still win with Freddy:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/P93PWQ6SC05W/image.png

The matchmaking probably wasn't fair here, but even if it had been the problem is that you don't get to have fun while playing this killer, regardless if you win or lose.

But I have hope Freddy will get his dework at some point and we will get Old Freddy back! Finally we will have fun again!

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3805525#Comment_3805525

You had to wait for people to fall asleep after you used your power to even hit them.

That isn't a bad thing though. Plenty of opportunities for easier hits with Dream Transition mindgames or Block add-ons.

Plus unhooks were super easy to do because Freddy couldn't down you again until you fell asleep again.

And that can easily be fixed by giving him the Incapacitated status effect during the Transition. The movement to bring back Old Freddy has always included a few QoL improvements to fix his issues.

Maybe this is a bit much but along with what you want, I feel like he should be able to near instantly teleport to his blood pools if someone steps in them. It’ll work similar to the Hags trap but maybe on a 60 second cooldown?

I’m really spitballing here. I just want him to have something fun, interesting and similar to what he can do in the movies like coming out of walls. Maybe he can have traps that sprout arms and latch onto Survivors, rooting them into place without injuring them?

I purchased him not long after Stranger Things because I was new and everyone said he was strong and easy to play. I found him unimaginative and boring. Haven’t touched him in over 4 years now.

  • I forgot to mention I love going against Twins. I see them so rarely i forgot they exist. The sounds Little Vicky makes make me giggle every time.

  • No he doesn’t. He just needs an add-on that lets him replace his bear traps with land mines.
