I’ll be making survivor for a bit then. Otherwise, I have lots of map offerings on my main killer now.

They are lumped in.
Unless Solo Q has an unbelievably low escape rate that drags down the average to 39%, SWF simply isn't OP.
If you want to take the stats that have been provided by the Devs, with no details, then Nurse needs buffs and Blight is fine being at 57% kill rate.

swf this swf that, you know that there can be people who are solo and they all are good at looping and wasting killer time? its not SWF its called=high level tier survivors who spent tons of time on this game. Can yall stop saying swf god it gets beyond annoying. I went against swfs who are a complete joke as killer and gotten teams who were not swf stomp me, for real people just love this 3 letter s.w .f my god. But no killer mains just want EZ games and no challenge so they wanna steam roll solo ques then complain getting stomp by swf which I doubt again its swf its more like raising mmr so high they get top survivor players.
And not all Nurses, Blights and Spirits are high level players. I await your rant about survivors crying about strong killers since most killers players are higher tier players. Otherwise, if you don't like what I write, you're more than welcome to keep on moving and ignore my posts.
But yea, it's the killers asking for EZ games in a thread about wanting to nerf Blight.

That's nice and all but the last stats we got say that you're blatantly wrong.
61% average Kill rate, iirc. That includes SWF.
Do the state state the specific kill rate against SWF or are they just lumped in with Solo Queue? Do the state give details, such as if the SWF were going all out or were they playing a chill game, going for flashlight and sabo saves and not caring about gens? Do we have any of these details because if we don't, you can't say I'm blatantly wrong.

And...how exactly do you know who is SWF and who isn't?
If you think the average SWF escapes in 75% of the matches they play, how low do you thinkbthe Solo Q escape rate is to balance that out to the 39% Escape Rate we know?
I don't need to know who is and who isn't. Everyone, who is honest, knows that SWF stands at the top when it comes to balance. They always have and probably always will.
If you want to balance the game around average players survivors, then you should do the same for killers. You can't say "nerf such and such on killer side" because the average player doesn't have a chance against it, but be opposed to nerfs for the strongest things on survivor side because the average killer cant compete against it.
You don't even have to nerf survivors as a whole to nerf SWF. Just restrict some things when 3 or more players queue up together. They more than make up for it with discord. And no, this isn't punishing people for playing with their friends, this is balancing the game to be more fair for everyone.

If they find the way to nerf SWF without killing SoloQ yes, 100% agree. I am not trying to say that SWF is not strong.
The problem is that most of the times the nerfs they go for survivors affect primarily SoloQ (The healing nerfs) and the Killer perks they buff made soloQ miserable (Old Eruption).
And it is more simple to balance the killers that are strong because you can nerf someone like nurse or blight without damaging someone like trapper.
You do need to realize that being able to "stand a chance against good survivors and won't get looped into oblivion" usually stands for "i get a fair match against the 1-2% top survivors and stomp the other 98%". That's why it builds frustration over time.
There is a simple way to nerf SWF without effecting Solo Queue. All they would have to do is limit the amount of certain perks/items/add-ons and maybe map offerings for 3 or more people in a group. People will cry that they're being punished for playing with friends, but they're not, the game is just being balanced to be more fair for both sides. Once this is done, they can look at nerfing some of the stronger killers and their add-ons.
Also, I'm not for killers stomping survivors most of their matches. I like how the devs want to balance around 2 escape and 2 kills. While people think the amount of good survivors is small, I'd have to disagree. All one has to do is play after 8PM on weekdays and after 6PM on weekends and you'll see how strong a lot of survivors are.
All in all, I think the game, in general, is the most balanced it's ever been. The devs just need to improve maps, restrict SWF a little and bring down the stronger killer at the same time (not nerf killers first and wait a year or more to nerf survivors like they did with nerfing moris and keys) and improve MMR.
I also think new players should be prevented from playing against certain killers for the first 100-200 hours. Like, they shouldn't ever deal with a camping Bubba or Blight until they figure out the best chance for success is to work together. Perhaps they should also restrict certain perks from being used until the 200 hour mark as well. The skill required for new players to have actual fun and see all of what the game has to offer is too high. I only lasted and got absorbed into this game for as long as I did is because of watching YouTube videos and playing killers to see how it is from the other side.

The amount of skill required to beat some of those add-ons is too high for the amount of skill required to get maximum value out of them.
Yet, the same could be said for SWF and how much killers have to sweat against them in order to try and beat them. The only difference is the community thinks its okay to make the game easier for the average survivor player while it's okay for average killers to have to sweat.

Yes, MDR is too strong.
Yes, C33, Alc Ring, Stacked Speed etc etc are too strong.
Yes, Nurse's chase ability is too strong and her map pressure too little.
Wraith's lunge was a little too much. Especially now.
Too strong for who? Good survivors in the Upper MMR bracket who know how to play or too strong for the average player? Or are they too strong for everyone? If so, are you saying they can't be beaten or is the work that is required to beat them too much?
-
@Rovend said:

Yes, even good SWF tend to lose against these 3 killers if they use their best addons. If not, we shouldn't have seen all the 100 win streak with nurse addonless or that one guy recently that did the 1000 win streak with blight. or do you believe that guy went against 1000 bad survivor teams and never good ones?
and even if those streaks never existed, if you have ever seen a killer tier list anywhere made by players with thousands of hours in dbd they always rank these 3 in S tier and usually state they have something that needs to be toned down.
and even if one were to say that all of them were lying, you can`t deny that not so long ago BHVR itself was nerfing perks purely because of its interaction with nurse.
So i dont know why would anyone believe that these 3 are only good against solo-queue.
and i know even less why would you think that they need to nerf solo-queue.
I meant to say why not nerf SWF, not solo-queue. I edited the post.
You have plenty of videos that show survivors having similar win streaks, should survivors be nerfed because exceptional players know how to abuse the game mechanics to the extreme? If not, then you shouldn't be asking to nerf the mentioned killers.
These three killers being S-tier is not a reason for them to get toned down. They're S-tier because competitive players choose them because they're the only ones who stand a chance against good survivors and won't get looped into oblivion.

I mean, Blight's addon are broken, that is not some mass hysteria or evil survivor plot. Even Blight mains agree that his addons are too strong in a killer that is already strong.
And spirit's Mother-Daughter Ring is indeed OP, paired with that addon that gives you killer's intinct when close to a survivor is an awfully unfair combo.
And nurse is indeed still awfully strong, her ability to deny almost anything the survivor can do in chase is still active.
This 3 had always been on S-tier so it shouldn't come to a surprise to anyone that are also the most complained about.
So, with everything you stated, are you saying that good survivors with strong perks, items and add-ons and have good coordination can't go toe to toe with these killers? Or are these killers just too strong for bad solo queue players?
If they're too strong for solo-queue players, why not nerf SWF* so weaker killers stand a chance and then nerf the stronger killers?
-

Blights addons are too strong.
Spirits addons are too strong.
Nurse is way too good in chase and not good enough at map pressure, tbh.
Wraith's lunge was a little ridiculous. I think he's in a great spot as of now.
Are they too strong for survivors who are good at the game and know how to rush through gens, mind-game and loop properly or are they just too strong for bad survivors?
It seems that the running theme with Dbd it's okay to balance the game around bad survivor players but it's not okay to balance around bad killer players. It's always, survivors need help, killers just need to get good, even though it's shown time and again, when a survivor team knows how to play, they don't need any help at all.
Wraiths lunge wasn't ridiculous, it was fine as long as you played it safe.
-
You must be new around here. Crying for killer nerfs is cyclical. Now it's Blight, next will be Spirit's Add-ons are too strong, then Nurse is still OP and needs yet another nerf. I mean, they even got Wraith nerfed not long after he got buffed. It won't end.

I've been wanting a new mode + crazy weekend events for a long time.
With TTCM beta, I've been recently wanting a Hide & Seek mode on a customized map with more dark shadows, less loops, more sneaking around and more hiding places. They can also introduce items like cardboard boxes and bushes to hide and move about in. They can do it if they put some time and effort into it.
The crazy weekend mode (would be optional), they would do stuff like introduce a Blizzard that has swept over the realm and frosted everything over. Behavior would just have to pick a few maps, frost them over and make the ground slippery for both survivors and killer. If they run without thinking, they slip and slide all over the place. They could also do stuff like give an event where the survivors or the killers character models are shrunk down. They can introduce new power up icons on the maps that will boost speed, give you camouflage, slow you down, and whatever else they can come up with (think power ups like in Mario Cart).
I really wish they would introduce a new mode so they can do stuff "outside the box" and not have to worry about balance for the base game.
-
He needs a Business Suit and a Tuxedo Cosmetic. He also needs a Bedazzled Mask cosmetic.
-
I disagree. SWF and maps are the biggest problem with the game. As long as good, coordinated SWF can stomp on killers, Blight should remain as is. Killer mains are entitled to characters that can go toe to toe with SWF.

Nowhere does the poster imply that they play Nurse to get revenge. Only that they play Nurse to even the playing field with toxic/sweaty survivors.
It’s better to play one of the stronger killers and feel like you can do something when you get put up against strong opponents than it is playing a basic killer and feel hopeless. It’s no different to survivors who tire of solo queue and form SWFs.

Sounds like a child (too many play this game).
Anyhow I actually want to share a story about a game I watched my son play. This was back when I first started playing so I could give 2 shits about content creators (honestly still don't) and didn't know any. He picks Demo and in the lobby he starts screaming he is playing against one of the most popular streamers. He gets all excited and puts his big boy pants on. I obviously can't share the name of the streamer but to this day he is still one of the top creators of DBD. Anyhow he struggles most of the match but ends up turning their cocky altruistic plays against them. They are all 4 on the ground so he hooks two of them which were the only 2 hooks in the area. So I told him to leave the remaining two on the ground.
Once the match ended he hurried over to his stream only to find out he was being ######### on by the streamer and his party. I honestly felt bad for him as he really liked this streamer and was shocked he acted this way. I mean I guess I understand a little bit as they are supposed to be very good at the game since they for the most part do nothing else and they were taken down by a 13 year old Demo. He also had a game where he got steamrolled by @Huge_Bush and crew on RPD. To make matters worse he caught that little Claudette in the end game and I made him drop her lol.
Wait, I don't remember steam rolling anyone <.< Was I a survivor and the stars just aligned and I managed to loop well? I'm by no means a great player at this game. I feel bad because I don't like steam rolling anyone unless they're obviously toxic. I much prefer to be friends after some chases and meme-ing.

I would play the Twins if they had a cosmetic like this. I think it looks really nice! Only thing missing is a cute suit for Victor, though I know the devs won’t make it.

You realize you're in a thread that's comparing one game to another right?
Dbd has done a lot that made it fun, new and interesting, TCM is also capable of doing the same in its own way, we just have to wait and see what happens with both games.
I was talking about comparing the two games to Fortnite.

Really this post is to everyone who said TCM is fun because it's new, look at how Fortnite is doing.
You're comparing apples to oranges now.
TTCM & DBD are not comparable to Fortnite.
Also, Fortnite has the backing of a very large corporation that has ties with other large companies through licenses. Their devs also switch up the game mechanics very often. There isn't much that the devs for Dbd, nor (especially)TTCM can do when it comes to vary the game play and keep it interesting for the long term.
I wish them the best, and maybe they're be a long lasting niche, but they won't make a dent in Dbd.
-
I love Myers because it’s just so out of character from what I expect of him. It’s kinda silly sounding too.
Pig has a very cute one.
-
Lol. It’s only fun now because it’s new and different. Once the “scariness” wears off it will die. There’s not much the Victims can do, unlike Dbd where you at least have the chase with optional stealth.
Not bashing TTCM at all though, it’s just not going to make much of, if any, a dent in Dbd. It’ll be a nice side game for when you’ve gotten tunneled/bullied one too many times and need a break.
-
Im not really great at Killer but some things help me.
- I always equip Franklins’ Demise. Bully Squads hate this perk with a passion because it renders their items useless and they can’t bully you if they can’t blind you or sabo hooks (unless they bring in the Sabo perk). Just get ready for the salt in the end game chat. They will definitely call you bad. I just giggle and move on.
- Identify the weak link and remove them from the match. They came into the round with the intent of not playing a “normal” game. Return the favor.
- Undying + Haunted Grounds. It’s a slept on Perk combo because hexes go fast, but it’s so nice when you get early downs at the start of the match. Plenty of times I’ve downed and hooked three people before the first gen is done.
- Play a stronger Killer. Some killers really do suffer against them, especially if they have no anti-loop. A non-basement Trapper with brown add-ons is begging to get t-bagged at the exit gates, while a Skull Merchant will make them roll their eyes and beg for the match to end.

Start end game collapse after 24 minutes and 59 seconds pass. Any remaining survivors will be killed by the entity and not count as kills for the killer. This will, hopefully, encourage the killer to go for some chases (once again, hopefully), and it will prevent either side from ever taking the match hostage for too long ever again.

No one gonna mention the loadout of the survivors, that was clearly aimed at a gen rush? But since its against a Knight, the didn´t feel like it, so they just gave up.
In other words, they were prepared for a short and unfun match for the killer, but couldn´t stand the idea of a unfun match for themselves.
You should know by now that on these forums and Reddit, killer=bad, survivor fun>killer fun. They’ll accuse anyone who disagrees of being a killer main and yell that it’s a killer sided forum when it really isn’t.
*note: I dunno how my post formatted this way and I’m too lazy to figure it out.

I would love a new map on Ormond. Any map that’s easy on my old eyes is welcome. Just make sure there are lots of LoS blockers so I can play spooky Myers as well.

They'd have to adjust every regression perk and gen speed up perk, along with totem perks and Boons in order to balance the game around no regression. They'd also have to touch loops and EGC.
Which they definitely should be doing.

Basekit BT is way different than rebalancing the game to support a no regression playstyle.
Freeing up a perk slot(s) for survivors is literally rebalancing the game. They can do the same and give killers a base-kit regression perk so killers can vary their builds and have more fun.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3442664#Comment_3442664
Not relying on regression is one thing, not having any is something totally different.
The game would need to be fundamentally rebalanced if they wanted no regression to be viable.
Well, they’re already rebalancing the game by introducing base-kit mechanics for one side, they should be doing the same for the other.
-
@Pulsar said:
I really don't mind BNPs that much, even as a M1 Killer.
That being said, you aren't really running gen regression, so I can see how it'd be an issue for you.
Seeing as how the devs are trying to promote more fun play styles for survivors (base kit BT, upcoming anti-face camp and potentially anti-slug mechanic), so too should killers be able to play with fun builds and not have to rely on regression perks.

As for concept art for the characters themselves, you can find one of claudette but her design is clearly different from the final one.
As for hands shaking obviously I don't know how much yours are shaking but I've always had slight tremors and it's not that hard gettting used to (the undo button will become your best friend though), the shaking shouldn't show on paper (or digitally) if you draw your lines confidently. I've never looked up those kind of exercices bc I assume it comes with practicing drawing, I remember some exercices from an online drawing course that helped with that (I don't remember the specifics of the exercices though, also you can mostly definitely find them or similar ones for free).
Finally, yes drawing is frustrating bc everytime you stop doing it for a while it feels like you forget how to draw, so don't beat yourself up and just do regular practice, and even if you take a long break you'll always pick drawing back up much quicker than people who've never done it. Also don't stress too much, I'm pretty sure the design aspect of the contest is more important than how good the drawings are (although it obviously helps, but it doesn't mean you don't have a shot at winning)
Thank you so much. These are exactly the kind of pictures I was looking for.
As for my hand, it's not terrible shaking but kind of like not being able to be confident with my lines. I don't know how to explain it, it's just frustrating. I wish I got back into art last year. Oh well. I'll try coming up with a drawing for the contest and even if I don't win, I'll be happy I got back into drawing.
Do you have any book recommendations for figure drawing? I'd really like to get into drawing for fashion and concept art. I don't want or need to get so great that you can't tell it's a drawing. I really like the art style in the images you posted!

Where did I say I don't want a mindgame at a loop? Please don't project.
Sitting on the other side of a car that must be circled 4+ times to catch, with a pallet waiting if you get close, simply using raw speed and no other skill than holding down the stick while watching the killer isn't a "mindgame". There is no "guessing wrong" for the Survivor, only not watching where the Killer started moving, and rotate the opposite direction.
Also, despite what many would like to claim; that isn't "skill". It's just paying attention. There are only two directions to run; Left & Right.
The game originally had a strong stealth/hunting mode (see Lockers original purpose). This has changed over time to Survivors wanting to be chased, and wanting a decent chance of winning the chase. The original generator model was a form of clock against the Killer to find and catch the Survivors. With chases being elongated, the generator-timer only works for extremely high mobility Killers. If they want the gameplay model to be centered around chases, then alterations need to be made to how Killer plays, too. Not just Survivors.
Look at the advice new Killers get on these forums. They are told to try and have fun without trying to win (i.e. "sweaty"). It's a joke.
I do think we have found the fundamental disconnect between Survivors and Killers in this game.
Chases are not fun for most Killers in the game. They aren't. Many don't involve much skill at all. Just stay on them until their perk expires and Bloodlust catches you up. It's the Killer's equivalent of holding a button to do gens. Chase them until they have exhausted all their pallets. It's tedious, and boring. The only time a guessing element comes into play is corners/windows with loops small enough for the Killer to have a chance of circling if the Survivor guesses wrong.
I left the game over 5 years ago, and recently came back, but whatever this has turned into just isn't what I'm looking for. Maybe I'll have more luck with TCM.
Chases being boring and making me feel hopeless is the reason why I can really only play Scratch Mirror Myers. No chases, only spooks.
When I play one or two matches on other m1 killers i immediately go back to Myers or Survivor.
-
Okay, no more buffs, but how about giving him an add-on that allows him to permanently stay in stealth mode, survivors can’t break him out of it, he can’t mark people but can see their auras through walls the whole time?
