I was wondering if anyone else out there had headcanons or theories about certain Dead by Daylight characters that turned out to be incorrect by updated lore.

I started playing Dead by Daylight when there were only three killers - the Trapper, the Hillbilly, and the Wraith. Just looking at the Wraith back then, I speculated at the time that maybe Philip had suffered an injury (perhaps a car accident, given his realm of Autohaven Wreckers) that paralyzed him from the waist down.

Because Philip's got some seriously skinny legs. Now I don't get out a lot and my interactions with other human beings is practically nonexistent, but I'd like to think I know what human anatomy is generally like. Maybe there are people out there whose upper arms are meatier than their legs and I just haven't seen them. But my immediate thought just seeing the guy was that he had been wheelchair-bound in life, which would explain why his legs were so thin while his arms were far more beefy in comparison.

I then read up on his lore (which, back then, amounted to the few paragraphs that touched on his work at Autohaven and how he snapped.) It was pretty evident that Philip hadn't been physically impaired in the way I had thought. I mean, I guess technically a wheelchair-bound man has the capability to throw another human being into a car crusher, but it's obviously nowhere near as likely as a man having full physical capabilities doing so.

So the headcanon was debunked pretty much from the get-go, though it does make me wonder why the Wraith looks the way he does. (Assuming he does have abnormal proportions and I'm not just so disconnected from human society that I've forgotten what people look like.) The Entity obviously contorts and molds its killers into whatever shape or form it sees fit, but why make changes that are subtle compared to the obvious metal protrusions of the Trapper and the tree bark thing the Wraith himself also has going?

I obviously understand subtle tweaks having their place, hints at something rather than blatant exposition of a killer's character through obvious mutations. But why this change in particular? What is it supposed to hint at, if anything? And if it's to provide an advantage or disadvantage to the Wraith in the Trials, then what would that even be?

I still wonder about Mr. Ojomo to this day, but this isn't just for Wraith discussion.

What theories did you guys have about killers or survivors that were ultimately disproven by lore, but you still think it's neat to wonder about and speculate? I'd be very interested in hearing! :3

Tbh i think wraiths entire body is skinny. It looks like his clothes pad out his upper half which gives him that top heavy look.

Not my own headcanon, however the idea that pyramid head is in the entity's realm to punish the entity is a popular headcanon that pyramid's own in-game bio completely contradicts.

Yh pyramid fan boys seem to think he can just turn around and kill the entity. Which is kind of insane. Keep hearing them say "the entity is scared of pyramid head" which makes zero sense and has no back up lol

  • Mine are:

I personally find knight is quite a fun killer to play as and against.

    Dead hard is just fine.

Dedicated killer and survior mains should try playing the other side for a change. So maybe they'll both stop whining about bias against their chosen roll.

Hook suiciding on first hook in the first 5 minutes of the game should be reportable and bannable just like DCing.

Prove thyself should be nerfed into the ground.

  • A vampire killer would be cool. Plenty of decent licensed ones (mummy dimetrescu)

But an origional one would be interesting. Could be a serial killer with an obsession for blood/vampires who gets turned into an actual vampire in the entity's realm. Would make for an interesting backstory.

  • Tbh depips shouldn't be a thing, Period. For killers or survs. It encourages killers to tunnel so they can control games and get those emblems. It's a pretty ######### rank system anyway. Doesn't control sbmmr, Doesn't give unique rewards for seasons that are actually worth going for, resets so often that the first week or two of each month is just killers/squads sweating hard for pips.

It was reverted, back to what it was before it was ever changed.

It's a shame, there's no point in adding QTEs to wiggling if it doesn't actually DO anything. The wiggle barely affects the killer's movement at all. It was nice to just squeeze a tiny bit more progress out for hitting checks.

  • Then you do the next match. Tbh the one that annoys me more is when 3+players bring party streamers and the killer still tunnels someone hard

  • Shame. Would be nice to see deathslinger get a bit of a buff. He's fun to play if you don't mind getting 0/1k games constantly.

Also lol, never seen a post stripped like that before 🤣

I also notice you're iridescent one. Mmr is a bit mysterious but I'd assume since you can get that rank that you're a pretty good killer player. And I think killer mmr is supposed to be tied to a certain limit around your highest mmr character. Which sucks. Makes learning new killers incredibly tough. I can't play huntress or blight to save my life. Deathslinger and twins are weak af but I still see games like this because with demo I have a very good record.

I didn't check but other guy said it's normal. I can't believe it really they must hate killers these devs. I play both sides.

I play both sides too and I don't think it's unbalanced. That player has to use up evwey single perk slot to boon like that. So they don't get any other perks at all.

Sounds like a bit of a meme build to me

  • Yeah it could be interesting. The meta could do with a shake up. But if they get it wrong it could unbalance the game entirely. Particularly at higher mmrs.

If regression perks get nerfed too hard killers will have a very tough time.

They have the recording of the 2nd match which was mentioned in this thread.

Ah my bad. Assumed he meant the OP rather than the replies afterwards. I'd love to see that video. Cheaters deserve to get their butts nailed to the wall for what they do.

  • I did. Nothing you mentioned in it said anything about the offerings they brought, or perks they used. And you didnt have a match record to check if they may have scouted out hatch locations with the exploit I mentioned while you were killing the other 2.

Aside from your guesses, based on rough estimates, you don't have any hard evidence to suggest cheating.

  • You sure they didn't bring a hatch offering? Or perhaps they just got lucky, hatch only spawns in limited number of locations.

I'm so pretty sure there's a slight exploit where the future hatch spawn location (as it's decided at the start of the game) retains collision for the purposes of dropping items on it. So basically it prevents you putting items on where it will spawn.

Sweaty players who know all the spawns could well scout around for this, particularly if they want to complete a hatch challenge.

  • Mm. I just aim to enjoy the game.

As killer I often see a voluntary 2k as a win. I out play the survivors. Kill 2, get the other 2 on death hook. Then down them, carry them to hook, shake me head, and take them to a gen. They usually get the message. According to most, 2k is a draw, but I see that as a win where 2 of the survs get to live and get a bunch of BP because I'm feeling nice. But I had the challenge of out playing them and succeeded. If I don't gain control of the game I'm happy with at least 1 kill, 0ks kinda suck.

As surv, I'm mainly looking to finish gens at some point with at least 1 escape through gates even if it isn't me. 2+ escapes is a great result imo, hatch escapes are ok but a loss for the team with one lucky survivor. And 4ks just kinda suck.

  • 🎶 I ######### hope not 🎶

Srsly though, DH is good for sure, go to perk for any survivor who wants to run a halfway decent chase. Probably one of the top 3 most useful survivor perks. (Some killers hard counter it. Imo windows and prove are more universally useful)

But it's not an automatic health state like the killer mains keep claiming. GOOD survivor players sometimes make it look easy but it's a hard perk to use for majority of players.

When I play killer I have very little trouble countering it. I get caught out by it, but more often than not, I am able to play around it without much trouble.

It's a pivotal perk in high mmr games where there isn't much room for error on either side. But if you're good enough with killer to hit that sort of mmr then you have to deal with it. You've rofl stomped a lot of survivors to get to that level so you've got to compete with the same level of skill on the other team.

  • Plague for sure. I HATE playing against her mechanic, always infected, broken or getting double tapped by corrupt purge. Plus most plague players I end up against are always mad sweaty.

Plus one of my regular SWF mates has emetophobia and always loses her ######### when we play against a plague.

  • @Dinan said:

I can loop pretty well and when I do it for like 2 gens or more I get facecamped. Why not switch to a different target instead of hating on me.

Lets ask a similar question: if you are running a torch, go for a blind and realise the killer is running lightborn, do you keep trying to blind them? Or do you drop the torch and check a chest for a different more useful item?

It's a switch in tactics. If you're good at looping the killer is gonna lose gens because of one chase with you. You can't expect them to commit to playing the same way and losing as a result.

As killer when I see a surv who is good at running chase. I don't play their game. I ignore them and focus on softer targets or switch up my method for downing them.

Stealth killers I ambush for easy hits. If gens are popping and I'm struggling for hooks I might indulge in a bit of proxy camping or even the dreaded face camping because more often than not, someone will come for the rescue and I can down them or at least force them to trade hooks.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like being tunneled or face camped either. But they are legitimate, effective (ish) tactics killers can use. If a killer can't catch you in a straight up chase, don't expect them to be like "guess I'll lose" and just keep slogging after you. Plus if a killer is annoyed by a survivor, they might just face camp them to get revenge (petty) and/or remove an effective player from the game (smart tactical decision)

Unpopular opinion strangers things chapter was mid at best

That is a hot take lol, but each to their own. Tbh I think the content is great, demo is a very fun balanced killer. And steve is a cool survivor. Really wish I'd played the game before it left, I managed to get a physical copy to access demo, steve and nancy but I've never been able to buy cosmetics for them or try out the hawkins lab map. What we need is a casual/ranked split for playlists. I like playing killer and I'm pretty good at it, but I'd like to just meme around with weak killers sometimes.

This will achieve nothing. You'll have maximum sweaty blights and nurses file into the unranked mode just because they know they'll have opponents that want to take it easier, and bully squads hell-bent on making demogorgons cry. It's just a target painted on the casual playerbase.

Easy to assume the worst, certainly that will happen a bit. But there will be more games where players are just chilling out. If casual doesn't contribute to ranked rewards then you'll see less sweaty players. You'll always get the odd troll who just wants to make other people's games miserable.

Genuinely good players are going to get real bored real quick on decimating casual teams and getting no reward or progression for it. Ranked will give them a half way decent game.

It'd certainly be an improvement of the current melting pot playlist. As it stands, good killer players end up at a point where they have to run the sweatiest builds going to stand a chance, and have no option but to sweat constantly or get 0ks because they are locked in one matchmaking bracket and short of spending hours throwing games there is no way to change that.

I've even suggested having the mm in a casual playlist be based on upvotes which trolling killers and surv teams will not get.

  • @Canas said:

I've been collecting data from several matches since the last patch dropped and noticed an increasingly worrisome trend: matches have become VERY survivor sided. It's borderline impossible to have a normal match as a killer anymore, literally every single survivor group is comparable to a SWF sweat squad and gens pop at rapid speeds. I also see bp incentives for killers seemingly throughout the day, that's how bad things have gotten.

You want some pics? I got pics.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SZMKSTDXCYTL/playtime.png

This is my profile; I currently have over 2600 hours on DbD. I've been playing since 2018, mostly as killer.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4DJLM9XTECBZ/last-18-games.png

This is a compilation of recent matches, 18 of them in total. I've been playing as Knight, Legion and Plague in those games and it's been one loss after another.

Some of these matches even featured players with hacked items (yellow flashlights with instablind capability, being able to blind from behind the killer) which has drastically lowered my enjoyment of the game. It's plain torture, not even camping seems to work against these teams.

Everyone brings Adrenaline and Dead Hard, every single survivor is playing at maximum efficency and chases take so long that half of the survivor objective is done when I finally hook someone. The constant information buffs for survivors have created a gap that's so vast that most killers can't even cross it anymore, it feels completely hopeless.

I urge you to revert these HUD-changes, survivors should NEVER have this much information to begin with. The killer entirely relies on survivors mostly lacking coordination and stumbling around; you've put this important aspect entirely on its head and enabled survivors to make a mockery out of killers. This cannot go on.

Seems like every post I see like this is from someone who has a very high hour count. This is an mmr issue, experienced killers (especially with your hours) will have sky high mmr.

Survs tend to do better at high mmr. You have a team of 4 players who will often each know the maps, have comms, be consumate genrushers and chase runners. And will overall make it a nightmare for even the best of killers.

Low/mid mmr though is an absolute ######### fest for survivors. Killers steamroll into 4ks very easily.

What we need is a casual/ranked split for playlists. I like playing killer and I'm pretty good at it, but I'd like to just meme around with weak killers sometimes.

  • I dont agree with OP. As killer I don't have too much issue countering DH, it's quite easy to bait out if you wait like 1 second after getting in comfortable lunge range and it's often very obvious when a survivor tries to force a hit for the DH trigger. If you're too thirsty for the hit then you'll probably get DH'd.

I think it comes from just running into too many high mmr survs. Some players seem to have refined it to a fine art. And there will obviously be a certain few players who cheat and run scripts to always perfectly trigger DH.

It's not an easy perk to use even if some players make it look so.

  • @Wylrin said:

This was originally going to be solely a request for tips for a stealthy survivor playstyle, but it occurred to me that a lot of people probably associate a stealthy survivor with hiding in a corner or locker and just waiting for the team to die off so they can get the hatch or open the exit gates quickly with a Sole Survivor + Wake Up combination.

So I guess my first question is: what is everyone's stance on stealthy playstyles? This can include the aforementioned example, of course, but I'm mostly curious what people's opinions are on trying to evade the killer through stealth instead of through chase. From what little I know just from reading past discussions either here or in youtube comments, hiding instead of engaging in a chase seems more frowned upon, and I guess I can understand. Staying out of the killer's sight doesn't give the survivor or the killer chase points, obviously. And of course, an epic chase is leagues more fun than playing hide-and-seek. There's also the benefit of the killer being distracted with a survivor in chase, which allows teammates to work on generators in some semblance of peace.

I definitely get that chases are just more fun and do have gameplay advantages as well, but what are your opinions? From a survivor or killer perspective, what immediately comes to mind when you think of a survivor with a more stealthy strategy?

With that curiosity out of the way, I suppose I should give more context as to why I'm seeking tips for a stealthy playstyle. Long story short, I'm pretty bad at looping. I can have my moments, but I'll be honest, those moments are probably greater due to a mistake on the killer's part than any sort of skill or cleverness on mine. I'm obviously trying to get better at the art of running around the map without getting slaughtered in an embarrassing amount of time, but while I chip away at that, I was wondering about stealthy playstyle tips or tricks from you guys.

For context, when I'm asking for stealthy gameplay tips, I'm not asking for advice on how to most safely wait for the rest of the team to die. My mindset playing Dead by Daylight as a survivor has always been "help team survive and escape." Unfortunately, when perks like Eruption, Jolt, and Pain Resonance trigger any time my skills in a chase are being subpar, I often have the overhanging dread of, "If I screw up, I'm hurting my team more than helping them."

Like I said, I'm trying to up my running from the killer and not dying game, but until that happens (and I tend to be a very slow learner with this stuff) I figure it might be better for me and my teammates to play to my strengths of just not getting in a chase in the first place.

It's probably weird to ask for stealth tips, now that I think about it, since a lot of it can be summed up to, "Stay out of the killer's line of sight, make as little noise as possible, and try not to panic by sprinting away when the killer doesn't even know you're two meters away from him." But I guess I'm asking for more "advanced" tips, then? Just little things like working on a generator at the beginning of the game, only to switch to a different generator so if the killer happens upon that generator first, they won't happen upon you and they might even waste time scouting out hiding locations around that generator. That sort of thing.

I'm really curious as to what you guys think of stealthy play and what tips you guys might have. :)

I play stealthy by default, it's my go to gaming strat. Like I won't just sit in a locker all game. But I listen out for the TR and will try to avoid getting caught on a gen and I am usually the last in my swf to end up in a chase.

First up perks. Distortion, this perk is amazing for staying hidden. Especially with the amount of Nowhere To Hide I've been seeing recently. A lot of killers are relying on it and it saves you getting caught out in a locker. It also gives you valuable info on killers aura reading perks. Quick and quiet, always useful to silently jump in a locker to juke out of chase. Self awareness, mad useful in stealth builds. You know exactly where your scratch marks are and walking fast is very valuable for turning a distance gain in chase into an escape. Lastly probably iron will, as killer the amount of survs I catch out because I hear their pain grunts is unreal. Reducing the noise of these is invaluable. Spine chill and urban evasion are worth a mention too. Particularly spine chill, knowing where the killer is can be invaluable for avoiding them. A key with bloodamber is super handy for this.

One other thing is a piece of advice from a book series I love. Stay absolutely still when hiding. There are a lot of good places to hide on most maps, bushes, the cubicles on lery's, toilet stalls and spots on midwich. Wear dark or neutral colour cosmetics and avoid charms that glow like the auric cell or conscious concoction wtc. If you sit still, and there isn't any bright colours or glowy stuff to reveal you then killer can and very often will walk right past you. Even changing your view can cause your character to turn their head and a little movement can betray your position. I've had killers look right at me before and not see me. Yamaoka estate and dead dawg saloon are two amazing maps for this.

Think like a killer. You need to know killer perks and work out how they are trying to track you. If you use distortion you should know exactly what you need to as far as aura reading is concerned to avoid losing unnecessary tokens or getting caught. Some of it is harder to call, perks like spies from the shadows and bloodhound can really ruin your day if you're running a stealth build. Twins, victor has basekit bloodhound so if you're injured he's a nightmare to escape. If a killer catches you when you know you've hidden well. Consider they may be using these. Be aware of killer instinct, legion scoring a deepwound, using a vaccine/spray with nemi or wesker, being near a stationary victor. All reveal you to the killer and bypasses distortion. If you're against demo, only try to seal a portal if necessary and only when someone is in a chase, a lot of demos will ping open portals with from the abyss if they can't find someone, or maybe even run lifeguards whistle to always know when someone is messing with a portal.

Also stealth killers are an absolute nightmare to try and outstealth. You have to be crazy alert to achieve that.

  • Lol slip ups happen. Tbh the number of times I see and hear of this situation, its impossible to please people lol. If it goes south then people call you an idiot for unhooking. Or if you nope out then people abuse you for abandoning them.

Usually my SWF will stick our necks out for a random getting facecamped in the EGC if there are two of us available. Just one and they'll usually just leave, that's gonna be a hook trade at best.

  • well-of-course-i-know-him-hes-me-ben-kenobi.gif

Lol, I am a pretty friendly killer no matter which killer I play. Got bored of pushing 4ks all the time and now that I have all my survs and killers prestiged, I'm not all that interested in grinding rank for BP. I usually let 1 or often 2 survs escape.

I play hardball until I have 2 players dead, generally avoid tunneling unless survs are genrushing, and as long as nobody BMd me I'll get last couple of 2 hooks then down, carry to hook, shake my head, then take them to a gen, they usually get the message. I still get the challenge, and it doesn't lose me a huge amount of BP and makes the game a bit more pleasant for survs who get LOT more BP even though they got outplayed. Plus I always have a soft spot for someone who offers me their item 🤣

As surv I find demos tend to be the friendliest for some reason. And I've managed to befriend a couple of blights.

  • Ormond ain't that bad. I often have very good killer games on ormond. Just gotta play to set up a decent 3 gen. And the ground floor pallets in the main building are unsafe af lol. Just don't let survs get that central gen done in the main building.

  • @scenicpickle said:

Yall think the DC penalties should be more severe it's too easy to just leave a bad games immediately and go next

    it's 1 minute :/

meanwhile 3 of us are stuck with 5 gens and basically in most case an unwinnable game that we can either play to no avail, get a mercy win, or just afk till we die.

the last 5 games i've had 2 of them had insta DC's cause they had lethal, found them, down them within 30 seconds.

Some games have it so you can't start a new game till the game you left finishes they should add that or just make the DC timer longer for first offenders because 1min:/ idk honestly makes me want to DC with a timer that short rather leave myself than play some unwinnable game.

given the amount of players in this game and alot of them knowing the penalty everyone getting a freebie DC on a daily basis makes it quite common place.

I think although there are other deeper issues a good start would be to deter DCing by either increasing the inital penalty to 3 minutes or make it so that they can start till the old match finishes OR instead of increasing the time make it so that the penalty ramping up does not reset so fast maybe a few days or a week before it goes back to 1 minute penalty.

What do you guys think does that seem like a good idea??

It's a hard call. On the one hand I HATE people who ragequit out of dbd, wothout backfilling, one early DC kills the game stone dead. Killer quitiing obvs literally ends the match immediately but even a surv who leaves in the first 2-5 mins practically guarentees a killer win.

But legitimate DCs do happen, I have a swf mate who has the odd power outage and my internet has been known to drop out from time to time. And I don't think people should be unfairly punished for that.

Tbh though those are rare occurrences, I'd be willing to bet that 90-95% of DCs are ragequits. And if someone legitimately DCs on a regular basis, the onus should be on them to fix their internet instead of ruining dbd games constantly.

The Only things that made blight not make make my least list is even though I essentially have to play in structures like an M1 killer, I can make his power work in the open and on some of the more unsafe pallets. Plus any killer that has a power that cuts through pallets faster gets a thumbs up in my book.

Yeeeeah thats why I love demo. It can churn through pallets at an alarming rate which makes for amazing chases. I suppose tue other reason I don't wanna practice with blight is nurse syndrome. Once someone gets good with either killer chases become extremely short. It's unfun for survivors and tbh pretty boring for killer to have super short conventional chases.

I do so enjoy being harassed, lied about, told to off myself and getting called varying slurs because I tunneled someone (at 2 gens) after they brought me to Eyrie of Crows. Love that they accused me of coming into their chat and spamming slurs and saying sexist things. Love that they tell their viewers to mass report me on Twitch, Xbox and DBD. Love that they immediately banned me, but set-up some chat thing that gives out my DBD account, Xbox account and Twitch name so that other people can mass report me and since I'm banned, I can't even get in a word edgewise.

Just needed to vent, not super intellectual, I know. It's been a stressful night, I'm livid and worried

Sounds rough. And happens all too often when you play killer well 🙄 Had something similar when I tunneled out a streamer late game but not quite as scorched earth as your one seems to have gone 😳

I'd killed one player, had the 2 others on 2 hooks and had resolved to let them go because they'd offered me their items. Last surv I hadn't seen at all so far. So I tunneled them hard and got 3 hooks to remove them from the game.

Cue a rude message, to which I politely explained why I'd tunneled that hard, and pointed out that it was very late in the game and they'd earned 20k BP even with the death.

More abuse so I reported their ruder messages and apparently got them comms banned because they used an alt account to message and keep harassing me.

Bout 30mins later got a message from a different account that claimed to be an xbox insider informing me clips had been sent to BHVR and I'd been recorded on stream "working with the other team" (which I hadn't, the survs I released didn't rat out the player in question) and claiming I'd be banned.

Months later and this mysterious ban still hasn't materialised 🤣 it's amazing what some people will do when you legitimately beat them in a game. Hope yours doesn't cause you any issues OP.

  • Demo is my fave. Extremely blanced IMO and takes skill to play well, both in chase skill to hit shreds and planning skill to use portals effectively.

My least favourite has to be blight. Cool idea but being on console I can't hit lethal rush to save my life. I end up just M1ing him. Since I got my adept blight I haven't touched him. I might muck about with him at some point to try and get the hang of him but unlikely.

Well same goes for Erutpion then, it is necessary to counter the hyperfast gen progess

Yup. The meta atm is all about gen speed and regression perks. Wish they'd shift it a little bit, nerf the gen rush and regression perks. Because genrushing makes for short, bad scoring games and hard regression just isn't any fun to play against. Means most games are either 3/4ks or 0ks. Very few actual even games.

Using two survivors to deal with facecamping is not a counter, because it means only one person is on gens, and that time is against you if he's not silly enough to be lured away.

Read my most recent reply before this one. I often pull solo rescues against knight like this. When the first guard disappears you have a a few secs to sneak in. With a bit of cunning you can unhook reasonably safely when the knight goes to set another guards.

I'm sure very minor QOL changes like this aren't off the table. It won't even change anything about Demo's kit, just the ritual.

In all fairness yh It wouldn't be a huge change. But tbh don't think it needs to change anyway, it's not exactly a hard challenege. Like I said Inusually get it done in one game, occasionally I need 2.

  • I usually get them in one sometimes two games. My real issue is daily rituals for hitting lethal rush with blight or chainsaws with billy.

Plus I doubt they are touching anything about demo until(if) they get back the stranger things IP.

Idc what his power says, i care about what the game allows. And the game allows the Knight to be there facecamping and to use his guard to facecamp aswell, both at the same time. It's an oversight or intended which is worse.

And stop thinking you know everything when you clearly don't. I think you might have some psychological disorder.

Everyone has an issue with facecamping... ITts just boring ass NON GAMEPLAY for both sides. Yet somehow BHVR releases a killer that can facecamp with 2 characters. And he can keep recycling the guards as long as he needs to.

IF you havent faced it good for you, i really hope you do not.

Thing is though I have faced it and dealt with it. Escape rate against knight has been pretty good tbh, I've seen a couple try and use this tactic and it's been fairly easy to counter, and given lots of time for gens. For one thing, even on solo q, you can sneak and hide near hook, and dip in when knight kneels to setup the guard. You get a second or two's grace to nail the unhook then clear out. Even if the guard aggros on the unhooked surv all it does is trigger endurance and they get a speed boost. If that happens you can bodyblock knight and force him to hit and chase you instead.

Show me one person in this post right now claiming it should’ve been left the way it was, c’mon I’m waiting. People are calling out BHVR for being hypocrites, why did they remove the noose offering for being associated with suicide and self-harm while keeping the guy that has been literally hanged to death ingame?

It makes zero sense, you either remove all noose and suicide related things in the game or none.

Kind of contradicting yourself? Saying nobody is complaining then literally complaining about it. And nobody has said it directly, but a lot of people are questioning why it needed to change when the gallows is there, implying it shouldn't be changed.

It's a bit nitpicky but the gallows is a whole structure set up for execution, not suicide. Noose on It's own is a pretty strong symbol for suicide.

My real point is I don't see why people need to question or complain about it. They changed to picture because it could be harmful or bring back unpleasant memories for certain people

Good enough reason for me. They could've changed it for whimsy for all I care. But people always gotta complain at change.

Pretty sure it’s supposed to track the location when you are nearby but hatch hasn’t been spawned/revealed yet. Might be bugged at the moment if it’s not working like that?

I did test it a little while ago, maybe a month or two. Took an offering to spawn hatch at killer shack, ran a Rainbow Map (automatically tracks hatch) with a green stamp to catch more stuff in the tracking radius. Ran all around killer shack then after rest of my swf died (we all worked together to test this) then when activated after it had spawned the map did not reveal the aura of the hatch

my bad dawg i was drunk

i still generally disagree with you and hard believe that it is a skill issue if anyone is still struggling in soloq, except in cases of tunneling/camping, in which having a voice chat won't matter in the slightest.

No worries, agree to disagree. Tbh the skill issue is why I think VC would be good for the game. Imo the whole point of VC is to help people build the skill instead of leaving them to flounder and work it out.

Like for example My swf had a new player and we were able to talk him through basic stuff like not hitting the struggle button on first hook and leaving totems alone so we could CoH it. Running him through, roughly how a killer's power worked whenever he saw a new one. Like avoiding grouping up with legion, keeping an eye out for GF instead of relying on listening for TR.

Makes the game far more tolerable at the start. When for new players it is pretty dog ######### with no help. Tutorial is incredibly basic and not everyone is gonna sit down and research how each of the 30 odd killers work.

  • I think it depends on the map you use. Since jelly slows usage by 20%, if I remember correctly the red map benefits more from retardant jelly, and the green map with it's shorter usage time benefits more from the straight 5 second increase of map addendum.

  • Because it's necessary. Especially against a top tier blight because distance means nothing in that match up, ypu can only really extend the change by forcing out another hit. Survs certainly need a counter against good blight/nurse players.

Oh yeah, it can be really, really silly.

Pallets are the least of it. At least those are gone once they're gone.

It's when you get the over/under loop on MD or the pseudo-infinite with 3 vaults on GoJ that the game is just...why bother?

    ...

Did you just say that playing an M1 killer takes nearly 0 skill?

No they were saying that holding W and predropping is the tactic that takes 0 skill.

On OP's post hey the game has been around for 6 years, there will be people who know every tile on a given spawn and can run chases like that. It's why I prefer ambush killers, can't get looped if the surv doesn't see you coming.

But tbf most killers have some kind of effective anti loop or are a stealth killer. Except maybe hag. There's Bubba and billy too maybe but their powers are pretty OP and they do well in good hands regardless.

This is either the most ignorant post I've ever seen or a troll. You can't bully a killer with dead hard. Dead hard is to avoid being downed and requires the most precise timing/anticipation being only 0.5 seconds of duration. I play enough killer to get red 1 and dead hard is by far one of the least annoying things (except when they bait me into it, but that is on me, not them).

So yeah you didn't read their post properly. They were talking about head on.

Bully squads often use head on because with voice comms they can hide someone in a locker near killer shack or something and when killer is closing on the chase target, they run past that locker and then someone busts out with head on and usually drops a flash bang, stun into blind usually causes you to lose the original surv you were chasing. Even if you keep track of them you lose and bloodlust stacks you might've had.

As for DH bully squads also usually run it to a man. Although that one is way more easily counterable and pretty much everybody uses it. I still see lots of survs use it for bodyblocking and seem unusually good at hitting it. Can't deny that there are some ppl who run dead hard scripts to simply give themselves a 3rd health state.

Look man I really don't like talking to you. So I'm gonna stop that but good luck to you

Fine by me. I don't particularly like talking to people who use thinly veiled insults to try and prove a point.

Learn to counter the killer and you will counter the Killer Instinct. That simple. With Neme and Wesker. The notification to them of where you are is the penalty you pay for cleansing your infection. Neme doesn't need a cleanse other then cough and tentacle can hurt you. Wesker does, the hindered sucks, but YOU choose when that info is given and if he is chasing someone, chances are he ain't gonna ditch them for you. Killer Knowledge goes a long way here. No changes need to be made.

Like I've said earlier in the thread this is more of a perk to help newer players. Not everybody is going to sit and read through killer powers or the dbd wiki.

Dawg idk what to tell you but there's legitimately no reason to add voice chat. Survivor games really aren't that hard right now, with all the buffs they've recently gotten, so it's still stupid to even consider adding it.

    t. survivor main with 1600 hours, with ~600 of them from when I was a killer main exclusively. I still play killer a lot, too.

Point is, maybe you're just not all that good and all the information in the world couldn't help you.

My escape rate is fine thanks, but ty for the attenpt to stat bash. Tbh I talk more from my killer experience than my surv, I don't play solo q much anymore, only swf. But my killer games are walkovers most of the time.

Do i speak alien language or something? in a SWF yeah but now try coordinate that on SoloQ... People are selfish as is and since Knight can face camp with 2 characters and he can keep spamming the guard when it runs out good luck getting randoms to do that...

I can run and counter Knight in chase pretty fine, the issue is being hooked vs knight in SoloQ means 99.9% Death...

Besides why is a killer allowed to do something even more boring than facecamping with just 1 character, why is Knight allowed a second character to facecamp with!?

If i were the Knight why would i even move myself from Hook when i can let the Guard chase whoever, maybe i get it and i can still be pressuring the Hook. And if the Guard doesn't get a hit then i've wasted someones time in a failed attempt that someone else has to come for or they give me a free no effort no skill required kill.

This is a serious oversight OR IT'S ABSOLUTLY INTENDED BECAUSE IT'S BHVR...

I think you have a problem with face camping. Newsflash. A lot of killers do it.

Knightbhas a way to make it an insta down but then so does literally any other killer. I haven't had any major issues with knights in solo q. Haven't seen many face camp or even when they donsetup a guard peading it away is pretty easy.

You're making it sound like knight is as bad as nurse or something.
