  • I'm a Baby Nurse and don't like to be blinded when I finally have a chance to reach the survivor in chase. I don't mind normal flashlight saves. But I like that they removed that blinding between a teleport even if I'm not playing Nurse at all.

I also like that they kept the blinding Zombie feature vs Nemesis.

  • I don't know why it's called Healtech instead of Autoaim Exploit.

Yes, actually. When you play as Hag (given that was the example) you know you are in a bad place if you go against four flashlights so you dodge if you don't want the challenge.

That's way better than destroying her by making everybody able to destroy traps easily.

Have you noticed we never get Michi videos anymore? It feels like even the best Hag out there has given up.

And about taking a break playing the same game over and over. If DbD wasn't getting neutered I could play thousands more hours without getting bored.

I only stop playing games that are changing for the worst.

I'm pretty sure I'm not unique in that.

The only reason I watched the video was because CoconutRTS mentioned it. Good that he has still fun in the game.

I was just wondering why no one criticizes the video? But this happened now, thx Blighted Dolphin. This is exactly what I thought but couldn't write.

You're posting a video and say: Ok, I can almost agree to every point in the video, BUT I'm not telling you which one.

And other posting things that has nothing to do with the video.

The only thing I can partly agree is the anon mode. But it's very nice against stream sniper, aswell. Removing the Anon mode makes no difference if there are still the mass of alt accounts.

  • Lobby dodging is better than Balancing? 😐️

Yes, playing the same game over and over can lead into taking a break from it.

I like CoconutRTS he is one of the most creative dbd streamer but dbd is far from being a flat heartbeat.

  • I edited a picture to show what it looks like. I don't mean to remove the prestige at all. There are still the border and a number can be placed somwhere, too. Not sure where. Above the profile pic maybe?

  • Ok, maybe I'm trying to not skip the next Billy Daily. 😉

  • I thought about to raise the bp gain from Daily Rituals and the Survivor/Killer bonus.

But I like it more that the Dailys and Survivor Killer bonuses only play a small role. I don't have the urge to do them and can play whatever role I want.

  • Not a Billy main but I see them listening to Brutal Death Metal (and survivor screams). 😝

  • The aura reading shouldn't work in chase.

  • Not a bug just the new Head On counter.

  • For me it's Grim Embrace, because it's blocking every gen. Only a few seconds but It feels odd. There is no new animation. Just a perk that does the same like Corrupt Intervention but during the whole game. 😴

Then maybe I’m a Survivor sided Killer main? Like I’ve mentioned before I am susceptible to Survivor charm as a “status ailment” lol

The side I'm playing mostly is survivor just like you, but my heart goes to the killer side. 😄

  • @HerInfernalMajesty said:

Look, it’s no secret that I’m a “Killer main”. I play a lot of Survivor too, sometimes more than Killer. But my heart is with the Killer role and I truly believe the Killer should be dangerous enough to make this game as thrilling as possible.

However… I do not agree with this feeling of shame when the Survivors outplay you. Some Survivors WILL be better than you, and that’s completely okay! It’s okay for a Survivor to be the teacher role and for the Killer to be the student role learning things from the Survivor. Some of my best most fun games have been because of Survivors who can loop me the whole game.

Sure, I love my meme games. But I also love it when the Survivors show me my weaknesses and give me practice to improve my gameplay. It’s not personal in a bad way, it’s personal in a good way. I love learning and it’s fun to learn new tactics when you’re up against Survivors that are better than you. Good Survivors realize this and often times are game to help you hone your skills.

Idk, I get that it can be frustrating sometimes when you feel like you can't do anything. I talk about Survivor entitlement here and there but Killer entitlement is also 100% real. Honestly it’s not Survivor or Killer, but more just player entitlement. Survivors are just trying to have fun like everyone else. It’s okay not get any kills in some games. It really is! There’s still a lot of fun that happens.

    I'm a killersided survivor main 😁

  • I see perks that are good for beginners. I see perks that can help you hide and distract the killer. I see perks for gen speed. I see perks for more survivability and help you loop. And some have synergies with other perks.

Maybe they are not good for you but I like some of these.

Because I have done so already like ten billion times, and I don't need to state the reasons because everybody knows why these Perks are bad.

I see some good and useful perks here.

  • This will raise some Freddy mains! The entity is pleased. 😈

Forced Hesitation can sometimes be okay. This one's not a complete disaster or anything. Even though it's kinda niche it's got its moments. I'm generally okay with this one.

Genetic Limits is just bad. It has the same issue most anti exhaustion perks have. To give up an entire perk slot it would need to stop at least the majority of exhaustion perks from happening. It doesn't. Just preventing a few, sometimes, from going off isn't worth a slot. Up the Exhaustion time to at least 45 seconds and make it apply immediately when a healing action is taken, not just when it's completed. This rewards pressuring and interrupting heals. Or, another route you could take instead is keep it 32 but make it apply to both survivors, not just the only doing the healing.

Machine Learning. Alright, tons of problems here. Firstly, generator damage events are now limited from the 3 gen mechanic. Second, it is only applied on the last gen you damage, ew. So clunky. Easy fix, remove the last gen damaged component. As a gen is tagged (think like Eruption) the perk is active on it and ready to be triggered if they complete it. This gives it much more reliable triggers. Now if this is too much potentially we could lower the haste to 5%, or reduce the duration. Or instead of those we could make it require kicks to tag a gen, not just damage events to make it require more time wasted.

I like this but it should move if you kick a gen that is higher than the previous.

That would probably be relevant and a very good point, if MMR worked with any consistency

From my experience mmr works. I rarely meet the Weskers, Blights, Nurses and other killers that I'm seeing by others.

  • There could be more chests on the map but in exchange there is a chance for empty and jump scare chests.

    so, genetic limits is terrible

when singularity came out, i was literally, using machine learning in every build, it was insane for me, my favorite perk of all time, but i just…. stopped using it, it´s a good perk don´t get me wrong, but it´s hard to get value from it

about forced hesitation, well, it works, and that´s good

I like that the perk has unique sounds.

  • I like the Amazon Prime unhooks as survivor 🤗

But this gave me an idea:

What if the cages would be invisible to the killer and survivor and appear after a short time? That would make the cages more intense.

  • There are a few perks that need buffs but why youre not posting one or 2 perks and write why do you think they are bad and what do you want to change?

Just posting a list of perks without commenting makes not sense at all.

Waited so long for this chapter and unlike most of you (on theses forums at least since there is a tiny fraction of the community here and it's almost always the same persons anyway) , i was not disapointed at all.

For what dbd is capable to offer, it's awesome, saying it is generic is untrue, it is not an opinion it's a fact. First quadrupedal killer ever with proper animations for once and no gliding everywhere (sound design and model are beyond amazing but that is not unique).

Power wise, the network system is trully unique, no powers in the game comes even close to being similar. It is a submap that works on every map in the game with footsteps detection and generators noises audible. It is a perfect power idea for this killer and works really well in the game, my only grip is, i would have liked more undetectability around it. Maybe a lingering effect or an AoE that makes the Alien stealthy (8-12m maybe with a bursr of speed when leaving a tunnel like Sadako with the Tv's).

The tail strike is a great idea that sadly is a power type that is generally disliked by people. Players feels like they have no agency facing the Xeno while most players don't like playing with it because it's to punishing to miss and hard to aim (it's ironic, like Pyramid head, people says it's no brain easy anti loop, but no one plays him because it's actually pretty hard and punishing, most Xeno or PH zone because the power is far tobrisky to use, and it's inherent to the design, it has a big punishment because you are close to the survivor). This power works well in the power fantasy of the killer, no biggie on that, it works well in game, it is nowhere near Nemesis or other ranged killers for the matter. I could break it down further but the comparison is so "Xeno fully fledged tunnels that allows it to move around and listen to survivors are the same as Demo point and click TP" that it's not even worth to further describe.

The flame turrets are another thing completly unique, they are really strong, Xeno is a killer that can be really bullied by turrets and pre running but it's mostly seen in comp or really high level (wich is not me, not 90% of you and very few people overall). But still the amount of people that still place turrets in front of stations or next to gens is baffling, if you want to slow it down, put one "behind" is pathing, you path from the gen to a loop, you put the turret behing a tree or rock that flames the loop bit not the gen, this will force the Xeno to turn around and lose sight and time or get burn. If you really want to burn him with NO counterplay, put two turrets next to eachother in an open area, job's done. Pre run the killer when the turrets are beepinf if you want to play it mega safe. Xeno must not be taken head on 1v1 like an m1 killer it's a killer you must anticipate, ambush and play around.

All in one we have a power that respect the fantasy around it (stalker in vent that has a very threatening presence but can be countered by fire or good preparations, wish it had more stealth tho).

Most ideas around the Alien power are really cool on paper, but:

    - Wall crawling is stupid, cool, but stupid, it counters everything in the game, and the only way to make it work is to make it super limited or cluncky, kinda like nurse, so not ideal.

    - Facehuggers would have been like Pig or Nemesis in the sense that it's something that you kinda put there but it's mostly passive. Kinda like the wall crawl, this would have been so nerfed and watered down it would have been pathetic. I agree that it would have been cool to see them in action but how the heck do you put them in ? I think they do not work and putting them in will cost to much in the power budget, you as the Xeno would have less to compensate and that's not cool.

As for it's pick rate, it is perfectly fine to have a killer that is not played by everyone everytime. Except Wesker, there is no licensed killer that is everywhere. Wesker is easy to use and hard to master with techs/exploits to research that enhance his skill ceiling. Xeno is like Pyramid head, a well done killer that just isn't for most. Keep in mind, that the more times pass, the less chance you have to encounter the killer you love (because there is more killers in the pool).

On Nightlight, the Alien is the 15th most played killer with 3% pick rate. Nightlight is not the official stats by any means but it is still something to look at, with the number of killers we have, 3% is not bad at all. You could say "Yeah but people have been waiting so long, and you never see it and im disapointed, because it's not what i wanted, it's so boring" and the rest. But it's a you problem. Maybe that hype killed it in the egg, maybe it's the strong traumatism of launch (since EVERYONE cheered and sayed the ptb was more than fine) or maybe it is the mere presence of a short ranged antiloop but in the end, it does not warrant a Sadako/Freddy solution and it would be sad to see this killer get demolished.

I think the devs should stop adding chapters for the game for some times and take a year to work on the game itself. With their disastrous coding from the dbd start, i understand that it must be hard to implement things, they are most likely fighting the code to not explode at any new things. But they should do a R6 move with a gigantic game health year. Addressing tunnel/camp, game objectives, new game mode, scarier things like ambiance. Most people in dbd are not horror fans or even knowers of the genra. So im not surprised by the complete lack of care by most for horror feature. And we adapt to not fear something after a while so it would be a challenge to even partialy succed in that regard. But still, maps are too open, i must be the only one that likes the indoors map, but there is a reason why the only killers that are scary are played in indoor maps, outdoors would be fine of they had fogs (real fogs not this purple add on watered down black vape).

Currently dbd is a competitve 1v4 game that is played in a 1v1 way, you can see the killer from across the globe, you can hear the killer from across the globe, and the most efficient ways to play is also the most boring and uninteresting part. Xeno is not the only one getting burned out and they should really take some time to work on the game itself.

Great wall of text i know, but i think it's better to actually explain an opinion instead of saying "I think Alien is one of the best chapter in this game next to Silent hill, i waited for it since i started to play back in 2018, i am not disapointed at all because i had realistic expectations and i am so happy that it is even here to begin with. If you don't encounter Xenomorph and you would like, maybe we'll meet one day because i have been playing only this killer since it launched (which means not 4 hours at all), i play a stealth build to compensate for the only disapointing thing in this killer wich is lack of stealth imo".

Here was the short answer, great day to all.

I'm not dissapointed about the chapter. I llike the idea with the turrets and the teleport. The tail attack is sometimes hard to hit but maybe that needs practice. Like you said they did the best with the possibilities.

The easteregg on the map is nice but I thought the facehugger should be more visible or part of the power. The facehugger coming out of the hooks like the rats in Hawkins. They are infecting the survivor if they got hooked. On the second hook stage they have covered bodys. If they die on hook an alien comes out of the fully covered body. It does nothing but cool effects.

Even without the hook stages would be nice to see them crawling on the hook.

  • Fun Fact: Sadako is the only killer who can boop survivor.

The emotional injury ALWAYS ramps up in post-game end chat, and at the

    twerking/circling/various taunts.

    For the People

Targeted player becomes healthy and you become Injured X secs. No recover no heal just a status removal to full health.

The recover and For the People is ok. I enjoyed the perk before but now it's in every game.

But adding a second perk remove the downside and make this to a Double Deadhard. It's not used as anti tunnel it's a kill denier.

That dark blue sweater should be possible because it's from the first movie which they have license to.

Thanks, good to know. There is hope. 🙂

  • I'm bringing always BPS if I got any. Sometimes I'm throwing one and get 4 cakes. And in the next game I have only a pudding left but I'm getting 4 Bps.

Sometime I'm throwing a BPS and the killer drop every chase till he find me.

######### happens. But that is not stopping me from bringing BPS again.

  • For the People shouldn't count as healing action. Just this.

It isn't counting for healing challenges why it's different for Buckle up?

  • I would like outfits that I can mix. Are there any? But every update is nice.

  • This was from last month: POV You're coming in the lobby after a 4k with SM.

Actually I have fun playing Unknown.

There are only survivors in the chat. They can't hate my perks and need to be creative, but yeah.

  • Hmm.. Zombie mode meets Lampkin Lane?

  • Survivor crouching to you and look up, sometimes melt my heart.

    But don't tell anyone! 🤫

  • I played 70 matches over the last 2 months and had a lot quitters, sometimes the whole team. They don't even started to play to find out that I was a Noob Merchant. A lot survivor refused doing gens because drones.

I think I started very low because that I don't wan't say much about balance. 6 games don't show much.

Dredge is a nightmare in all the wrong ways. It’s migraine triggering and really not easy for the eyes. It’s sad since the concept is genuinely great (and I am totally not saying this because it is basically a killer concept I have proposed way before)

Freddys sleep filter is also kinda icky - but mainly because it apparently causes issues with other lightings (there have been bugs with specific maps and Freddy was killswitched for Lights Out)

as to Unknown, I think it’s very much intentional for it to feel goofy as the whole vibe from that killer goes in that direction. Though it would be cool to have the pink bubbles be more subtle

I like Freddy's altered vision and sounds. But because the issue I can understand the Freddy player don't like to be killswitched. 😁

I mean compared to other killer:

    Wesker has his Urrburro's

Plague make the survivor sick and coughing

    Clown makes a blurred vision

Singularity has this drone thing attached in your back

I agree, but this is an issue with DBD, it doesn't mean that Skull Merchant is OP.

BHVR should make her counterplay clearer, like providing a better tutorial or making it easier to determine if you can be detected (for example, having your character glow if in a drone AoE and if you can be detected, so it's easier to know if you are or not), etc.

The problem is, BHVR can do all of this, even nerf SM to the ground, but people will keep saying things like "Yeah, she's the worst killer in the game, but she still feels awful to go against" simply because that's what's been repeated since she was released. There's no winning against people with the "SM is OP" mentality.

Yes this, her counterplay should be clearer. If you're on a gen under a drone everyone think: Ok' it's save but the drone is activated. Maybe the gen is scanned green and while sitting on the gen you're glowing green, too.

  • @PreorderBonus said:

Yep, most survivors who complain too much about SM only do so because it's been parroted in the community for so long that people started to believe it, so when they face her, they don't even try, give up instantly, and then come back to the forums with something like "yep, skull merchant is awful".

Drones are so easy to counter that being detected by one of them outside of a chase is literally a skill issue. "But she places Drones near gens and comes as soon as I deactivate them!" Then don't. You can crouch walk in the AoE of the drone and not be detected, and you won't be detected while you're working on the gen. Not only that, but the drones' area of effect is highlighted for you, so even if the drone is in stealth mode, you can still see where they'll affect you and crouch walk.

Killers like Legion, Pinhead, or Plague are extremely worse to face in Solo Q, but people hate on SM because it's a trend to do so.

It's only easy if you know how to handle it. Like the crouching in Hag's traps. But it's harder to understand and for everyone who don't "crouch" SM gets haste. The "noobs" make this killer op.

SM is the killer were I would check in the survey: The killer power is hard to understand for the opposing side"

  • I think because there is no counterplay against. You can destroy pallets but you can't stop 4 Head-On's (In the worst case).

Head-On + Pallets way too much.

But I would have really liked to see your reaction when you jumped out of the locker 😄

  • Clip: "I don't think Skullmerchant is that bad go against"

Post: "Her hate is completely unjustified"

    🤔

  • I've planned ahead and bought auric cells short before the event, damn me. 😔

  • What I don't understand that the Unknown has holes in the neck? But the mori is not showing any harm there and don't left a transformed body.

And the UVX has still a little gap that is not connected to the body.

Holding a weapon as tentacle alien thing that possess humans makes no sense to me.

It's funny to play though and I like the dispel effect + creepy voices.
