Mobility is awesome, but his Power is too slow and clunky. The charge up takes too long, which it shouldn't even need to if he's already in that fury mode.
-
I am. Overall, I still enjoy it. Frustrating sometimes. I didn't buy this game to play ring around the rosie. Which, that's ultimately what it ends up being like in the Killer role.
I'd enjoy this game a lot more, if the maps were redone. Safe areas, of course. Endless loops, no.
-
Matchmaking, Generator speeds and overall map design.
I know it's not supposed to, necessarily, be easy for Killers, but I feel like it is really easy for Survivors.
This goes way beyond Ruin and Decisive Strike, as I don't run those Perks as Killer or Survivor.
I wouldn't go as far as some to say that the game is broken, but it is not balanced. At all.
-
As someone who now runs Blood Warden on all of my Killers, I'd suggest you keep those Exit Gated closed. 😈 It's such an awarding feeling to down and hook a Survivor only for the other Survivors to be trapped, thinking they're about to make a clean escape. No sir/ma'am! 😂
Sometimes it doesn't work in my favor, but way more often than not... it does. In one match that I remember quite fondly, I was able to get all of the Survivors down in that moment.
If I haven't already been hooked twice, and if the match is going in our favor (as a group of Survivors), I'll try to run in between the Survivor that's being chased and the Killer to discombobulate them. The Killer gets confused and starts making mistakes, typically, swinging at everything.
-
I've been playing Survivor more, lately. I usually play Killer if the matchmaking process takes too long. For me, it would be about 75/25. That may change pretty soon as I want to start getting better at matches as Killers I typically wouldn't use and learning their play styles.
-
Generators pop much too quickly. Lately, within a matter of 20 seconds, a Generator will be done. Some matches are terrible for me, others I could come back from and still kill all Survivors. It just depends.
It would be awesome if there was a Hex or Killer Perk for a Generator to be irreparable. For example, the Generator would appear as normal, but it would be too broken to actually work, sort of a zombie Generator. And that Generator wouldn't count as part of the five, it would just fizzle out when completed. The Survivors would still get their Bloodpoints, though.
I think that would be fair; it would buy the Killer more time if Survivors wasted time with that particular Generator or Generators; the highest would be two per match. Or, if that's too brutal, the Generators would, instead, have to be repaired twice.
-
I try to make it a point to hook a Survivor before the first Generator goes on. It's usually a good match, for me, if that happens. At that point, that's one more Survivor that's off of a Generator, which also leaves them out in the open and vulnerable.
Of course, maps have a large part to do with it, though. On some, I suck terribly as a Killer... but do wonderfully on as a Survivor. The maps, for the most part, aren't totally balanced... which is unfair.
There are so many different things at play here, it's very difficult to pinpoint where something went wrong in a match for the Killer or Survivors. It can be very frustrating.

Here's another one:
Unlimited Evil Within 3 Myers.
Perks: Corrupt Intervention + nemesis + pwyf + infectious.
I didn't even realize that was a thing until I faced one that had Unlimited Evil Within 3. Talk about having anxiety through a match.
-
About the same. I love the fireworks in the match, they're pretty fun. They took me off guard for my first match when I hooked someone.
I've mostly been playing as The Doctor, I like not having to transition between the two modes. He's a lot more convenient to use, and a lot more dangerous with that new Power of his. I've won most of my matches as him, and did terribly with the others. So, he's still very much beatable. I never use Ruin, so that's a non-factor for me.
I'll mostly play Survivor for my next gaming session to see how this new Ruin feels and to see what it's like on the flip side of The Doctor.
-
You could maybe give Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a shot.
-
My favorites are Hawkins, Lery's and Haddonfield!
I hate Grim Pantry (lamest Realm). I don't mind the others. Grim Pantry is just boring.
-
The Ghost Face mains are either very fun to play against, or they're just excruciatingly annoying, desperate and playing for their life. There is no in between, I've noticed.
I don't use any one set build for any of my Killers. I alternate often and try new things.
-
If a Killer needs Ruin, then that person sucks; no doubt about it. I've been in plenty of matches where the Killer disconnected because the Hex Totem was cleansed within the first minute of the match. It's lame.
-
I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at you for saying that he requires Ruin. 😂 All I need is Pop Goes the Weasel. I do quite well at causing turbulence during a match and applying pressure. When he was my main, I very rarely had a match where I didn't kill, at least, three Survivors before they got all five Generators on. His Power is actually quite powerful. Just get better at playing as him. He's not bad. At all.
-
I have a ton of fun playing as The Plague. I've had a few horrible matches playing as her, but I've mostly had very strong matches as her! She's a lot of fun to play as.
That said, she's frustrating to go against when someone knows how to use her properly.
-
I usually have an issue with facing The Ghost Face; I escaped from him for the first time in a very long time this morning, but that's just because the player sucked... honestly. I never really use Spine Chill, but I might just have to start using it. Stealth Killers are frustrating, especially TGF since he can down you in one hit. That's what makes him OP, in my opinion, sometimes it's too late to even run from him by the time he has you marked.
-
Tunneling and camping is, legitimately, toxic. It breaks the game for the person playing as a Survivor.
For the record, though, running back to the hook if not already in a chase is not toxic. Obviously there's going to be another Survivor in the area to go after. In which case, I make it a point to not go after the person that was just unhooked... if I can help it.
The goal of the Survivors is to escape, so there really isn't anything they'd do that I would consider toxic. Unless they were putting their on teammates in danger.
-
It usually takes about three to five minutes, sometimes much longer, to find a match as Survivor. As a Killer, matches come almost instantly.
-
Some are. The Nurse is literal trash. The Hag is too short to see anything on some maps.
Most of the other Killers are quite strong and even overpowered. Like others have mentioned, map design plays a big part, overall, in who's strong and who's not. It just depends. There are a lot of factors at play.
Still, overall, 100% The Nurse is trash. No matter which Realm you're in. She's one mistake the developers have made and continue to make. It's boring playing against her, and even more boring to play as her.
-
If they listened to the community, overall, this game would be a massive wreck.
-
I'm completely against the idea that Killers need to have Hex: Ruin to have a good match. I don't understand the complaints; I feel like the only people complaining are literal weak gamers who lack the ability to apply map pressure and play skillfully.
I never, ever run Hex: Ruin. The Hag is still Level 1, and I never bothered unlocking it. They could remove it from the game for all I care. 🤪
Weak donkey players.
-
Some matches its beneficial, others its not... at all. Just depends on the habits of the Survivor.
Overall, I tend to not use Perks that affect Generators. I prefer just being able to create chaos among the Survivors and give them a false sense of security.
-
Only weak Killers need Hex: Ruin. So, to have a meltdown about the changes says more about your ability as a Killer than not. Get better at the game. Apply more pressure.
-
I'm not a weak Killer, so I don't use Hex: Ruin. As a Survivor, it can be frustrating to be in a match with Hex: Ruin in play, and I like how it has been addressed. It seems a lot more fair.
-
I started out having friendly discussions in this game after a match, but it swiftly turned toxic and now that's all I've gotten from people since.
I turned my messaging off on the PS4. After someone sent a friend request only to comment on the match, I then turned off the ability to receive friend requests.
People take this game way too personally. It's awesome to be passionate about it, that's understandable, but if you're that salty about a match... it's time to put the controller down and get some fresh air.
-
It's still lame how short of a Bloodhunt this is. This should have been going on since the week of Christmas.
-
I, honestly, don't understand most of the complaints about this game.
We're upset because we got killed by the Killer? Be a better Survivor. Learn from it.
Just spend another 4000 Bloodpoints and get yourself another Flashlight.
-
I'm sure there's communication going on about helping with certain challenges.
-
Tunneling is the fault of the Killer. That's practically throwing the match away, more often than not.
The point of the game for Survivors is to power the Generators, so I'm not sure why "gen rushing" is even a thing. That's the point. To power the Generators. What else do you want Survivors to do? Just be a better Killer and stop complaining.
The real issue is camping. That's something that needs to be addressed. It, literally, breaks the game for whoever is on the Hook.
-
Léry’s Memorial Institute is my favorite map. It's the perfect size with a ton of hiding places, it benefits both Killer and Survivor if you play properly.
-
Self Care is a Perk for a reason. It's beneficial to have and use when needed. I don't see the problem. It's better than not being able to find another Survivor, if there are even any others left to start with.
-
The Predator.
An Egyptian mummy would be really interesting, though!
-
I'm strongest playing as The Plague. She's a wonderful Killer and a lot of fun to play as, in my opinion! If you use her correctly, she can be really deadly.
-
I find playing as a Survivor to have a lot of lag. I've often been hit because I ended up glitching into a corner, or bouncing back from where I just came from by a few meters.
It only happens, maybe, for one match out of several, but it's still just as frustrating.
-
Tunneling, by far.
Give other players a chance to actually play the game. Whenever I play as Killer, I try to make it a point to not hook the same person twice back to back and to give them some space. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but the effort is there.
White flags are painted red if you use a Flashlight on me, though. Just saying. I hate that because it hurts my eyes. 😵 I will chase you until I hook you, I don't care if the other Survivors get all five Generators on in that time period.
-
The Ghost Face, The Cannibal and The Pig.
I hate playing against The Cannibal. People who play as him are so desperate; I hate it.
-
Dead by Daylight is the reason why I've switched my messaging to "Friends Only" on PlayStation.
I haven't had a positive and friendly discussion regarding the game since the very first night I played. That was a flash in the pan. Everything, other than that night, has just been negative and toxic. Never from the Killer, always from other Survivors, whether I was playing as Killer or a Survivor.
I might turn it back on sometime soon and see how it is, but as of now... no way.
-
I hate when it's done at the very beginning of a match. It's just cowardly and weak. Matches turn around all the time. It doesn't matter if you get hooked within the first 20 seconds of the match. There's a lot of opportunities to rebound from that and escape the Realm. People are just weak.
If it's done at the very end of the match with only one other Survivor left, then it's more understandable.
-
Nope, and I don't expect anyone to do it for me whenever I'm playing as Killer.
It defeats the whole point to "help" someone with the challenges. It's not much of a challenge at that point, is it?
-
The Nurse & Ace.
Literally worthless, the both of them; I never use either unless there's a Ritual surrounding them that awards bonus Bloodpoints.
-
Sounds similar to a team I played against earlier this morning. They weren't playing smart, at all.
-
It's all relative to how you're playing, is what I've discovered. As a new player, playing Survivor, I feel like it takes a long time to get a Generator turned on. Playing as Killer, I feel like it's a decent amount of time. I never had an issue with patrolling Generators and applying map pressure.
-
I was hoping we'd get a winter theme; I'm brand new to the game and it looks like an event was held in the past.
I wish I could have experienced the creativity of it all. For now, though, earning double Bloodpoints would be awesome. I have a lot of catching up to do.
