From DBD's game rules, which you can find here:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules

There is nothing in the Game Rules which specifies about "Giving Up" so i would assume no.

ABOUT DISCONNECTS BANS - DO NOT REPORT

Disconnections are penalized automatically by the disconnection penalty system. Please do not report people for disconnecting; no further action will be taken on these reports.

ALSO! In the Report menu it mentions RAGE QUITTING, which is DC? No? I mean if they actually look at the games that are reported, they could tell the difference in a legitimate loss of connection and a rage quit I would think.

I finished level one of the archive and realized holy #### this game still has no idea what's doing. Choas shuffle barely did anything because people use the meta when i thought choas shuffle was supposed to teach people "Hey these perks exist" plus match making like always is still the most horrendous thing in this game. Just fix the main problems the patch today didn't fix the bug with Wesker where if you use iri vial all survivors start exposed and at max heck not even a kill switch. But nope here's some super minor stuff.

    I won't lie here's what I want from 2025

    1. A bit more of decent match making

    2. A fix to things like hit validation where I'm getting hit OVER PALLETS after I just vaulted and landed but still get hit

    3. Just overall QOL stuff because I'm not in the mood for another DLC that comes with more problems then anything since Hound master came with the lovely thing of a dog that had no idea what it was doing plus a map that I won't lie would be cool if I could get it. Seriously since the winter event I think I got the new map 3 times this is also going with no map offerings but nope make three different variants of the original Ormond

    4. Reduce the amount of God pallets a map can have because i'm sorry the game doesn't need 20 god pallets

    5. Certain maps need breakable walls/doors two I can think of are Hawkins and Lery's

OMG! I hated Chaos Shuffle. I ground through it to do the tome, but was happy to be over. I played killer and had two perks that worked against each other. Not sure the names, just that one activated with bloodlust and the other removed bloodlust entirely…like…OK. I play survivor mostly so not familiar with killer perks, but that was the ONLY killer game I played after that.

Yup honestly that usually works if the survivor giving up does not use their brain. I still don't see why you guys want to stop people from giving up so bad but eh I guess that is just your choice. If they don't wanna play why even bother with them seems useless to try to make them play.

You must play killer. Trust me, I play solo que survivor and it is horrible. Never seen it this bad. First person found either dcs, or gives up on hook, or worse you rescue and they won't let you heal and drop all the pallets. Irritating. Make them play? They chose to play? So at least think of the other team.

  • @UndeddJester said:

The best way of getting around this, is bee line to the brat on hook and yoink them back into the game. This has 4 outcomes: -

    • They start playing again, you're still screwed with likely a lost hook stage on them, but it's better than nothing.
    • They AFK. AFKing is a reportable offence, so you can report them for that.
    • They start throwing pallets, missing skillchecks and body blocking teammates. Helping the killer is a reportable offence, so you can report them for that.
    • The killer slugs them and maybe gives you and your team a chance/free escape.

Never ever let anyone suicide on hook if you are close enough to stop them. Your chances of survival are always better as a result of points 1 and 4… if not, then at least you put a legitimate report against them.

I am speaking from survivor side. They either give up on hook, DC, or worse you get them off hook and they run around dropping pallets. I love this game, but why quit? At least try. I have never dcd in this game and I have been playing for years. Its ridiculous. Worse that I have seen it!

  • @Huntar said:

Yeah, sounds like they were cheating. I think a new tool came out recently, because I've been seeing a few players like this. Hopefully they squash it soon, since a full squad of people using it kinda ruins things. Also had a survivor pop someone up from downed to fully healed right after I hit them, without a med kit or anything.

It's like? Why even play? How could that be satisfying to cheat? Boggles my mind. I wonder if they actually ban people for that? I have reported a few people for very toxic/racist language. Not sure if it does any good.

  • @tehshadowman33 said:

Base survivor running speed is 4.0 meters per second.

With Sprint Burst, that's 6.0 meters per second for a duration of 3 seconds.

Default killer speed is 4.6 meters per second, or 4.4 for slower killers like Hag or Huntress.

This is what I thought! I can't think of what it was, unless it was some sort of haxxor.

  • @DBDbuildsYT said:

If it was by the end of the round with all the gens powered it may have been the perk hope which grants 7% movement speed for 120 seconds.

    Otherwise cheating

THis was at the beginning and towards the end. I just couldn't fathom it? I mean dewd was bookin. Even after I hit bloodlust, he wasn't even looping me just full out running across the map?

  • @TheShape78 said:

He might have been using sprint burst.

How many times can they use that? Doesn't it have a cooldown? Cause my god, I wasted a few minutes on him. He was my last one that I hadn't hooked yet. My own fault for tunneling, but it doesn't seem right that I couldn't catch him?

  • @George_Soros said:

Hey just learn to appreciate when you meet nice survivors. There are more of those than you'd think, it's just we remember the butthole ones. And you shouldn't care if someone had a cake, BPS or anything: the unruly types will not appreciate the fact you let them farm, and the mature ones will not mind so much that it didn't work out for them. Keep in mind, most players have a number of the best BP offerings anyway, so it's not such a big deal if they go to waste. And farming is horribly boring.

Just try to win your games, always. If they're the rude kind of survivors, you can rub it their face, it feels good. The more chill survivors will still say gg and move on.

Yeah, I been watching some Twitch streams and there are players with like 100's of those cakes and party streamers! GOT O MIGHTY!

  • I would like flashlights being reworked.

I had a very horrible "Flashlight" game...this Kate kept me occupied for over two minutes with the darn flashlight. I was FUMING mad. It was a good strategy cause I was so tilted I tunneled her. I finally got her down, but all the gens were done and her team kept her up. I was pissed. I mean, she was pro with that flashlight! Pallet, blind...rinse repeat. It was pretty toxic, but I kept coming back for more. LOL!

  • @Onionthing said:

    Spirit Main here

I change mine up all the time so that games don't get (too) repetitive. I have had 3-4k success with these. Feel free to try:

    The Grudge -

BBQ and Chili, Make your Choice, A Nurse's Calling, Hex: Ruin

    The Ring -

Hex: Devour Hope, Rancor, Hex: Haunted Ground, Thanatophobia

    Ghost in the Machine -

Hex: Ruin, Overcharge, Pop Goes the Weasel, Discordance

    Poltergeist -

Franklin's Demise, Sloppy Butcher, A Nurses Calling, Whispers

    City of Bones -

Hex: Devour Hope, Hex: Ruin, Hex: Haunted Grounds, No One Escapes Death

    Hexposed -

Make your Choice, No One Escapes Death, Hex: Haunted ground, Hex: Devour Hope

and sometimes i just play without perks .. :)

Whoa! Thank you for this! So the build "City of Bones" I would love to see the lobby chat after that match! You should call that "City of Salt." I am going to try all of these! I am missing some of the perks, but will have them all in due time. Thanks!

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Play the most tryhard way, then close the end chat on their faces. That's my mentality, and i am pretty sure those survivors would do the same. There's just no reasoning with some people. I know it won't get to you bud, you're too old for some jagaloons.

LOL! It is more embarrassing than anything. I don't know if that makes sense? When I see behavior like that it is just embarrassing. LOL! You sure are right! There is no deficit on jagaloons and jerkwaters!

  • @[Deleted User] said:

What i see as ridiculously douchey is the fact that survivor groups tend to speak to each other in the end chat about how they weren't able to save their friend because i was camping at EGC. I give 'em the passive-aggressive treatment. If they say it once i will say "Hey man i wanted a kill so i had to camp sorry gl hf next game" and if they continue i will bait them then report them.

Yeah, I had a team of four dwights who were all dressed the same...I couldn't keep track of who was who. Ended up killing two of them...they flamed I was tunneling..LOL!

  • @LCGaster said:

I had a guy that literally ran from pallet to pallet, didn't even try to loop, so I let him drop them, or at times I just couldn't reach him until the next pallet

He was cocky that he chased me around a lot

I have no idea how he managed to get to rank 2 without looping

(I think I was playing Wraith, I'm not sure)

    LOL! It is frustrating!

  • @RoKrueger said:

That title: "Camping?" With a Cannibal profile pic. Are you asking for permission? Camp the first survivor you catch and see if the rest come swarming to the rescue. If they don't, go find them. If you think that camping is a scummy move that's just because you have allowed the survivor's propaganda to poison your mind. Camp when you think is a good idea or when you feel like it! And most importantly: Have fun bathing on their innards

I love it! "Survivor Propaganda!" Yeah, I am still learning how to take advantage of the altruism in this game.

  • @RoKrueger said:

Nurse calling is the best on her. When you see the aura of a survivor healing: Go back a little, face another way, activate your power and make the now downed survivor ######### their pants :-D

    LOL! Noice!

  • I usually use one if I have a bunch of bad matches in a row. Get that little confidence back. It really is a vicious cycle...LOL!

  • @Hagging_Trapper said:

There is a feature to turn off post-game chat, just use it. You can use whichever perk you like, dont be mocked by trash talks.

Yep. I have my chat communication turned off on xbox. Not just for this game, but any game in general. People get very salty and think a message will do harm. LOL

  • @Hagging_Trapper said:

Spirit has 24m TR by default, M&A decrease it to 16m, you are not always phase to gens to land a hit, sometimes you just run as normal, and having lesser TR give survivors less time to react and hide/run. It is pretty good for slow Killers, M&A, for example, my basekit perk for Hag.

Also you can pair it with Whispers and run even closer before phasing, saving phase cooldown time for next part of chase

Oh sweet! I ddnt even think of running whispers on her. I just unlocked it on my Leatherface and it is amazing! Helps immensely with my tracking.

  • @fluffymareep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/579488#Comment_579488

I don't believe you can see auras while you're phasing, so it wouldn't proc. Is Leather Face your killer with your best perks that you're most comfortable with? I would recommend playing a different killer in the meantime if you have one that's better and just dump points into him when you have them.

Yeah, bubba has max BBQ so that helps me farm points. I just got rank 3 whispers too! it helps out a TON. I see a huge difference in my tracking ability with that perk. I enjoy bubba, I haven't even utilized his good addons yet. I just been using the crappy grey ones while I farm. I been getting people disconnecting from my games since I put on Whispers? usually the first person I down. Is that normal?

  • @Hagging_Trapper said:

Camping and tunneling can be a strategy capitalizing heavily on survivors altruism. Killer can and should be punished by survivors for such behaviour by doing objectives and not feeding him hooks. There is no point in blaming Killer in postchat, calling him names, etc, it is just strategy he took for trial. If survivors team recognize it and counter it - Killer will be punished by low points and depip.

Ppl just need to acknowledge this and stop complaining about. It is not fun beeing camped and tunneled - I know, I was that person multiple times, just finish trial and move along to next one. Probably learn to loop better, waste as much Killer's time as possible and get some points for that.

Here is some survivor footage of today with camping and tunneling Insidious NOED Billy. I saw my preset was at LQ after game, but it is still viewable :)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJTSwE-_S5I

Oh man! LOL! That hook save was clutch. He popped his saw too early. Yeah, that was for real camping. Just sitting in front of hook waiting. I have chased people near the hook before, right after I have hooked someone. Hey, it's a free hit or possible down! Def wouldn't face camp...unless the person was being a troll. I hate flashlights. LOL!

That's not true. Audible que is given at Spirit current location, it fades with distance, but it has no relation to TR.

so M&A is pretty solid then? I mean they could potentially hear me off in the distance, but maybe not so much with generator noise and such?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    The community is so cool?

So far! There are a few jagaloons in the after chat. Pretty toxic folks. But, for the most part nice.

Maybe because it's not fun, a survivor can be written out of a game in a few minutes whereas the killer is in the game for how long they want to be. That's why survivors think tunnelling isn't fun, neither do the devs (thus Borrowed Time and new Decisive).

That does make sense. I guess it wouldn't be much fun to get camped and singled out. I think it depends is all.

  • @souljaxxc said:

I am a veteran killer, everyone on here will say, don't camp and tunnel, hell with that, if you are playing all those lower level players and possibly swf groups, then camping is the way to go, get a silent killer, one with no terror radius or one they can't see and get some good perks and add ons that Grant bps. Then camp and tunnel all you want, there is no rule saying you can't, all survivors just want to get out so they'll tell you not to camp, don't do what they want want you to, don't make it easy for them. My devotion level is 4 so I be been playing this a long, long time, the main objective of killer is to hook and sacrifice survivors, doesn't matter how, so camping and tunneling is part of that, people just get mad when they don't get to make it out, it's just a game, lol.

I camped today. Just one guy. He kept running around me and flashlighting my face. It was SOOOOO annoying. So I tunneled him down and camped him. I like BBQ and chili because you get the points by going after all four. I seem to get better the more that I chase people. Some of these survivors are hella good. I do hate sprint burst...I also really loathe iron will.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    I'd swap out M&A

Thanataphobia isn't optimal but it's not bad either so run it if you want.

    Ruin is great

    Sloppy is great on spirit

M&A can be counterproductive. When you are phasing anyone not in your terror radius is given a que, so having a larger TR means you can get the jump on people from further away. Only use it if you are running prayer beads (in which case you want surveillance and discordance instead of sloppy and thana)

Ahhh! Ok cool! Good to know mang! I don't have much in the way of perks unlocked for her to use. What should I use in place of M&A? Maybe spirit fury? I am having an issue with tracking in phase. I am a horrible tracker in general. Lose people all the time. I really appreciate the info!

Don't bother with basement builds for Legion as you will be much too far away from basement to get a survivor down there most of the time. If you're wanting a build that is highly played I would suggest.

    Save The best for Last

    Spirit Fury

    Enduring

    Discordance

This above build is a more standard m1 killer build that in general works well. You're able to stack and maintain your STFL much easier with FF. SF and Enduring help you deal with palettes when your power is on recharge. Discordance helps with tracking multiple groups of survivors. This build is good if you've got none of the next perks.

    Thanataphobia

    Hex: Ruin

    BBQ&Chili

The perks above work well with Legion and can replace anything in the above build except STBFL. Thana synergizes well with Legion's playstyle, but keep in my Thana isn't as good as it used to be stat wise. Still at max rank and full team injured the survivors are 16% slower in action speed. Ruin supplements Thana's early game and if the survivors have problems finding the totem you can drag the game out pretty good. BBQ is an all round great tracking perk that's meta for every killer and really helps out with the bp grind.

    Monitor & Abuse

    Pop Goes The Weasel

    Bamboozle

This set of perks aren't quite meta in general. The exception may be M&A as it is used quite a lot. Monitor & Abuse can be placed into a build to get your TR down so you can get closer outside of Frenzy so you have a better chance of hitting more than just one or two people during a Frenzy. Pop is another gen based perk that gives Legion a bit more power in the gen control area. Bamboozle is a personal favorite of mind as it cuts off a lot of nonsense window loops and makes Legion vault closer to their original vault which both looks and feels much better. The vault speed even applies to palettes, but no the entity blocker.

Awesome! Thank you for that! I get looped like crazy. I am not the greatest at that yet. This community is sooo cool! I am hoping a Bloodpoint event happens soon so I can just grind the heck out of the Meta perks. I know we just had one which I missed completely. Sad day.

It depends on your playstyle. During a sale (once per month on steam or humble bundle) the dlcs get reduced by 40%.

Nurse is the unrivaled master on high ranks. But she has a huge learning curve, and it can take you 50-200 hours to master her.

Spirit is close second, then Hillbilly. He's the easiest to learn of those 3.

Myers can do some nice jump scares. But requires a Doctor perk (monitor&abuse) to be fully efficient.

Doctor can be annoying af. Some like the screams.

Hag can be very stressful. But is strong with her traps.

Most people started with the trapper who is okay on mid ranks, but loses pressure on high ranks.

The majority of the killer mains have every killer on lvl 50.

Yeah, I got all the DLC's awhile ago when they were on sale. I just picked up Plague and Ghostface as well. Although I haven't played them much yet.

  • @fluffymareep said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/578048#Comment_578048

What killer are you thinking of maining? I think your perk set-up will probably depend on your weaknesses and the killers weaknesses. My killers tend to have tracking perks, for instance, since I'm really bad at tracking. I quite like Spies and Discordance. There's a lot of really solid choices, though, depending on what you're looking for. I'm currently trying to get them all so that I can play with different builds than the one I'm used to. ^^

I been playing leatherface to rush BBQ. It is VERY difficult right now to progress. LOL! I have the worst luck with lobbies. I am not great at tracking either. Question: Does "I'm all ears" proc with the spirit while she is phasing? If that makes sense. Like can you see the outline while in the phase realm?

  • @fluffymareep said:

I mean, you could always see if they wanna farm for the meantime (if you're okay with it) to help you get points. Sometimes you'll run into nice survivors who are okay with a farm. Otherwise I'd wait until people move up from the rank they were put back into so that you get more actual rank 15 players. I'd also look into getting Hag next for Ruin.

Yeah, that was my plan. Bubba first then the hagatha. So BBQ chili and Ruin, what should on focus on after those two?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Legion's Feral Frenzy works with Remember Me, Fire Up, Bamboozle (Pallet doesn't get blocked), I believe Franklin's Demise, Save The Best For Last, Play With Your Food, Sloppy Butcher, Hex: The Third Seal.

Doesn't work with Exposed, I believe Dark Devotion, and Infectious Fright (Not that you will down anybody with Feral Frenzy.)

A Nurse's Calling and Coulrophobia don't work with Mending.

    Noice! Thanks mang!

  • @Tsulan said:

So, are you enjoying the rank reset so far?

LOL! It seems about the same today actually. Still getting jacked up lobbies. I am still learning, so It is actually good i'm getting stomped. The community has been really cool. LOL! Most feel bad for me, especially a group of friends.

  • Hmmm...so I just learned that "Save the Best for Last" procs with frenzy hits...so that is nifty! Does the Blindness hex as well I wonder?

  • @SpacingLlamas said:

@ASpazNamedSteve I remember the devs saying so in their stream after his changes were out. Also I tried and two duration add-ons and it didnt seem to be any longer, could be wrong. Im not totally sure

OH man. Legion is by far my favorite killer! I am a 90's kid though...lol! SOO MUCH ANGST!! I never used his exploits or anything cause frankly, I stopped playing right after he dropped for a bit. I just came back and it seems his whole playstyle is different. What perks would be good on him now? I was thinking maybe basement legion?

  • Matchmaking is fine on xbox, never have that many issues. Every game I played on PC so far has been redonkulous!

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

Sounds like you have been getting screwed by the matchmaking. Sorry about that.

I'll go ahead and give you some good advice. Try not to camp. The more you chase people, the faster you'll get better at catching survivors.

And don't feel bad about losing. Everyone has to learn the ropes at some point. Just keep at it.

Absolutely! It seems lame to camp someone on the hook. Waste of time. Yeah, the matchmaking has been ridiculous! I play on xbox and thought that PC would be cooler.

  • @Carlosylu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/75223/camping

    Tips:

Level him up and get better perks, don't camp, destroy pallets, they give you good amount of BP, learn which perks you need to own people, basic owning perks are BBQ, Nurses calling and NOED, if you can add Freddy's Blood Warden they ar f$%&/$

Sweet! Thanks for the tips! It is making me be more aware of map control on PC and making sure I don't let them get generators all over the map.

  • @ASpazNamedSteve said:

They all stack, unless I'm forgetting a certain combo.

    NOICE! Thanks mang!

  • I was just in a match with a level 4 survivor...rank reset my ass. The rest of them were 16s so I guess that is something. The level 4 got the hatch. I ddn't camp. I just locked off the gens correctly and the chips fell.

  • "These hoes ain't loyal" Abraham Lincoln

  • Believe this is still an issue. I got the game and haven't been able to play much, I have to go into steam settings and change my stupid location and it still sometimes won't work. Frustrating. I bought it on xbox and never have an issue getting a game.
