No. Why would I take off meta perks, the killers arent going to. Have to wait for chaos shuffle for that.

Then you are and forever will be part of the problem. Because Killers only put those on because they feel they need them to deal with SURVIVOR meta.

If you want less sweaty games, take off the meta perks, play silly with a SWF, and forget about winning. That's what every single Killer eventually has to do when the game is too hard. Why wouldn't it be the same for Survivors? If your games are sweaty the common denominator isn't "every Killer sweats". It's you.

YOU are the only one who controls YOUR games. Which is something everyone has to deal with eventually. If you want less sweat, it has to start with you. Change YOUR mindset. You will never change others.

Nice edit btw. My math is what the Devs have stated they want. You can accept it or move on. But my math isn't incorrect just because YOU think the game should work how YOU want it to. If the game is no longer for you I promise there are x4 more Survivors ready and willing to accept these stats and take your place. Myself included.

My preferred kill rate is between 55-60%. It should not go over 61%. It‘s not about loosing or winning, but it is not fun currently and now the new target kill rate will lead to even more bad changes in the future, especially the map changes get worse and worse. I don’t mind the killer buffs they do, but the map changes.

Then you do not play enough of the weaker Killers to realize why a 55-60% Killrate won't work. It has to be higher, a 62.5%, to even get a 2k or higher. Just a draw or higher. No Killer I know sees a draw as a win.

If Killrates need to be a whopping 62-65% to simply DRAW against decent Survivors, what does that tell you? Not that Killers need nerfs because they are too strong, but that Survivor perks and items are what need massive nerfs.

And that's pretty much what BHVR is doing here.

If you have to win as Survivor a lot to have fun, you probably are taking Survivor too seriously. Take off the Meta perks and learn the new maps like everyone else has to.

  • Good.

Killers are the power role. Killers should feel good to play. If you feel like you lose all the time to random BS, of course you won't have fun playing Killer.

65% is also within a normal distribution of Kill rates, as I have said before, and therefore balanced. Now if the Devs start claiming they want 70% or higher? THEN we can talk.

Survivor is supposed to be hard. The era of being able to rely on superstrong meta perks to save your butt is over - hard. The Devs have spoken. If that is no longer in line for how you have fun as Survivor, either change how you play Survivor or move on to another game I guess because it's no longer for you.

  • Any buff they give SoloQ buffs SWF more. It follows that removing stuff from SWF would mean removing it from SoloQ too.

    Yes. This is impossible.

With these kind of comments just talking and talking about how the game is based of stats, comp gameplay, etc. It's making me feel hopeless on ANYTHING about this game, yesterday i was feeling so bad just bcs of these ONLY TWO matches. Yes, i won't be touching the game anymore but that shouldn't be the answer, i just want to play with my fav character, feel like I'm in a slasher movie, feel like i have the power in chase bcs im "surviving" the killer, and feel like im in a casual game, where it doesn't matter if im not in a gen for x sec, where i can just walk around the map, feeling the atmosphere of a horror game with nostalgic maps like midwich or rpd. And listen, these should be also the focus of all killers, whats the point of me having a casual match if you aren't having a casual match, make both roles casual and appealing to a slasher movie, thats the whole point of the game.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/S4QRQ0D4HA9T/dbc5507693c6e26eb89384ee7808ce4d-281-29.jpg

Horror as a genre inherently is about losing power and control, that makes it horrifying.

You are not supposed to "have power" as Survivor at any point, let alone in chase. You have fundamentally misunderstood Horror, the game, and the entire point of Survivor.

If you really cared about being casual you would be leaning into the "I am a victim in a horror movie, and I need to do my absolute best to survive as long as possible, because I am not in control here" aspect of Survivor. Not talking about "having power" in chase.

Really funny you used a photo of Feng-Min by the way, because oddly enough that's exactly the type of person I would expect to say that Survivors should "have power" over anything in the game especially chase.

Sorry for being late, quite inactive, thanks for the positivity <3

It's OK friend you were just charging your blink and held it too long and had extended fatigue friend. :)

  • Even worse - there are people who think ONLY A TEAM ESCAPE as Survivor is a win. And too many people care too much about gaining and losing MMR, which doesn't even give you anything for gaining it or punish you for losing it. All you "win" are sweatier opponents, rising in MMR in this game is deadass never worth it.

The wincons for MMR aside, judging wins by MMR gain and loss is a stupid, stupid thing and we all need to get off the MMR gain/loss copium yesterday. Just play the damn game and be happy with your results.

Chucky being really good is a welcome change of pace for me! He's so spooky in this mode!

I feel bad for the survivors who keep getting Legions all day so I'm trying to do my part by spamming Xenomorph. I'm sure survivors appreciate those atmospheric turrets

This is why I was Ghostie, Myers, Pig, and Onryo all Lights Out. I actually let several people go as Ghostface because he has it so easy in this mode.

    Because jumpscares. :D

  • Drac's like Ghostie, Demo, and Pig in that yes… he gets pets and snoot boops as pubby form. :)

    I love wholesome interactions.

  • They really should not add any faith icons to the game. Just use a cross Unicode symbol in your username instead if you needs must do this, or change your username to a faith based one, why do you or anyone else need to show their faith or worse yet convert/proselytize in a game? Nobody actually likes being "shown the love and the light" or "being led and directed towards God" by having your faith or anyone else's shoved at them; everyone has heard the word of God and not everyone accepts it as truth. Because it's truthfully just one of many faiths you can follow. It really isn't that special end of the day.

Religious icons and country flags should NEVER come to DBD, too much potential for bullying magnets and toxicity.

  • I don't understand why on earth BHVR decimated generator regression but yet, keeps on buffing buffing buffing gen progression.

Enough is enough, how fast do gens really need to go?

  • Just commenting to say that I love that you, by either mistranslation or habit, call Moris "harpoons". It's kinda cute. :)

Oh also, I agree. Leave green and iri Memento Moris ALONE. No amount of BP is worth losing this unique offering and function.

I don’t really think this is going to increase the prevalence of slugging for a 4K in a way that matters. Slugging for a 4K already happens and currently reduces the match quality for those survivors affected. This finisher mori is quite unlikely to make it worse.

But then what is your excuse for the loss of the other two Moris? Why is that change OK and not just a slap in the face to a fun and unique mechanic? If it's not a problem, then why is this change being added? You should be against it for that reason, then.

The 4k slug problem is actually already happening more on the PTB. They should leave iri and green Moris alone. The only things that should go through are basekit Mori on last person, points for Moris, and the unobstructed obstacles. So most of it.

Just not the removal of ebonies and greens.

Then we should go and ask developers to revert changes to mori offerings - but keep the last survivor mori in tact. Shall we go into PTB feedback and post?

Yes. Every single day until this unwanted, unnecessary, anti-fun, awful change is no longer on their radar.

The killer’s goal is to eliminate survivors (as in kill them and at this point they can enter another match), not incapacitate them…

You have to knock them down to do that. Sometimes, you have to leave them for a second to do that…

Killers already slug for 4K. If this new mori system increases the prevalence of that in a meaningful way, people will stop playing survivors IG and killer mains will just need to take up the slack.

"People will stop playing because thing I dislike will become more prevalent" is a massive negative to removing Memento Moris as they are now. If you believe this, and you're right that it will increase it, then you should be massively against this change. Hell, you should be rallying against it.

"But people already do it" is NOT a good reason to remove it for the people who don't and never did. And that's what I don't think you see when you make statements here on the forums that support you being all too happy to nerf Killers' fun for the sake of maybe not getting the one in ten chance you could be slugged by a toxic one. If this change was a massive Survivor nerf, you'd riot.

Riot now, before BHVR does a massive Survivor change equivalent to this, or nobody will come to your aid.

  • As predicted, the unwanted Memento Mori nerf sucks.

Nobody wants this version of a Mori. It promotes slugging for the 4k. It buffs slugging and nerfs a fun aspect of the game most people on both sides enjoy and love. It removes tactics from the game. Please please please just make Cypress basekit, retire it, and then add BPs to green and Iri Moris alongside letting them mori multiple people per round. Don't make all Moris ONLY give BP, let us Mori as many people as we want. It would be a massive crying shame to waste all the effort the devs have worked on for the Mori animations this way, turning Moris into yet another sweat mechanic.

  • I want to have fun. Moris as they are right now are fun, Moris in the PTB are not, they're unsatisfying.

new mori offering changes both remove meme kills / photo bombs and encourage slugging for 4Ks, it’s an awful change.

I hope they just make the yellow offering base kit and leave the other two alone.

The yellow basekit is ALL they need to do. I am not against Moris being a points event, I am against Moris being cheapened into just another useless BP addon that isn't even worth more than a BPS and doesn't even have a guarantee it will work.

  • Your changes are far more fun, viable, and interesting and wanted than what the Devs are insisting upon.

  • @Laluzi said:

Not only that, because you're spot on about incentivizing slugging for the 4k and just losing the fun that in-match moris provide… but those rewards are inferior to just using a survivor pudding.

If I get a 4k? Unless everyone died on first hook, my score is likely 30k+ anyway. I would never use an iridescent offering that will maybe give me 30k if I perform perfectly and beat the dice roll of hatch when I can use a yellow or green offering that will double my score no matter what, which might give me more than 30k even if I don't get the 4k. And the green/ivory rewards of 20/10k are firmly alongside satchets and wreaths in the "I would never use this unless I had no other offerings to burn, and I have thousands of offerings."

I don't want bloodpoint mori offerings. It's a conversion of a unique offering type into an oversaturated one, and it incentivizes slugging for the 4k, which is universally disliked. But to make bloodpoint mori offerings worthwhile in the first place, they need to offer enough to make the risk factor actually worth it. These do not.

Yes, like I said there is NO amount of BP that will ever, ever, ever replace what Memento Moris are on live. The ability to Mori multiple people is simply more unique, more interesting, and BETTER than a flat BP incentive for one measly Mori you may or may not even get in the endgame. You're asking Killer players to throw for the chance they might maybe possibly get a Mori, and asking Survivors to sweat even more to avoid a 4k slugfest.

The only acceptable change: Cypress basekit, retire Cypress, leave Iri and Green as they are but give them a lesser BP gain - 10k per Mori perhaps. Nobody wants a flat amount for ONE Mori.

Someone needs to start a thread on this in the PTB subforum, and keep making threads until Devs get the memo. We need to complain about this loudly and frequently there, starting from day one. This cannot go live. If it does, I simply will never use a Memento Mori outside of the basekit ones or Rancor ever again. They're too much of a useless gamble like this and just never, ever worth it anymore for a measly amount of BP like that.

  • Yes. Because it's balanced and in the margin of error. Because the data are normal.

The truth is until we can all do actual analysis on the raw data BHVR has, given out of the gate to us by them freely, we don't know. But we do know a few things that prove that the data are normal if skewed Killer:

    1. The sample size must be larger than 100, because that's the threshold for a normal distribution. There's no reason to assume otherwise, why wouldn't binary data results (win or loss for Killer and Survivor) be normal?
    2. It's probable the game is skewed Killer because the Devs have stated this is the ideal balance they want, so the data probably arrange in a normal, skewed distro that centers around a slightly higher kill rate of 60% - but because it's assym this would actually mean a winrate of 50%. Which is what we see on representative aggregate sites like Nightlight. No reason to suggest either dataset is wrong there, either.
    3. The data is known to occur across all MMR ranges. This isn't a case of Ghostface performing well at mid to low MMR but awful at high MMR. He's actually fine across all MMRs, and the argument therefore that some Killers are "just weaker than others at high MMR" does not hold water, period.
    4. The data controls for some confounding variables and thus throws out outliers like giving up on hook or DCs, and thus only counts actual results. That 70% Skurchent killrate? Is real deaths, not DCs or hook suicides. Therefore, Skurchent is overperforming and needs a nerf.

But again, I want to see the raw data released so we can do our OWN statistical analysis, and I want to see what methodology the devs use. It could be ANOVA, it could be a standard student T test, it could be Z score, or it could be a Chi test for some weird reason because the data isn't normal and I am entirely wrong. But as someone with a stats background and even a minor in statistics, I do not think I am.

Please find better arguments. I am done arguing with someone who doesn't understand basic statistical tools like a margin of error, dawg…

  • I like this mode and do think it should return every so often, but most people do not and even when it does (BHVR is probably keeping it at this point, sorry guys) it really should only be for a week or so. It's just not a big ticket mode like the others, it's niche.

  • This is because everyone on the surveys said they wanted more chase. To chase you, the Killer needs to find you. To find you if you rat, they need aura perks to do it in a timely fashion.

The community made this bed, now we're all just going to have to lie in it.

    whychase.jpg
  • Dredging this up again because I'm sorry, but these changes DO NOT make up for entirely removing memento moris.

30k for an Iri, 20k for a Green, 10k for a Yellow. This still isn't enough incentive to be okay with what you're taking from us BHVR, NOBODY CARES. I will repeat what I said before, and will keep reposting until devs get the hint we don't want this:

Nobody wants this version of a Mori. It promotes slugging for the 4k. It buffs slugging and nerfs a fun aspect of the game most people on both sides enjoy and love. I'm arguing because you seem to be in denial that your favorite killer fundamentally breaks this mode and that what he can do is neither balanced nor healthy. Dredge is even more of an issue than he is, but imo, if they don't ditch Lights Out completely, he and Myers are second in line for oversight in this mode. When a handful of killers are so meta nobody will play anything else, you have a very clear game design problem. I mean. Lights Out is a problem because many people don't find it fun anyway, but the best killers for it all bypass the thing that's supposed to balance out the survivors being blind and lost. (Or they're Dredge, who makes the blind and lost part worse.)

Like… if you had a game mode that everyone was half running speed, Slow Mode, everyone would play Nurse or Hag, with a few sprinkled Singularities and Billies and Knights. And that's not because it's Nurse and Hag's time to shine, it's because their power breaks the idea of the mode and they aren't that affected by the drawback while that same drawback still penalizes their opponents.

Candelabras aren't an equivalent? Candelabras don't tell me where the killer is. They tell the killer where I am. I can use one to check that most of the other survivors are also running around lost and only one person has found a gen, but carrying them around is one of the worst decisions a survivor can make. Best thing you can do is put it on a gen, or put it behind a wall so the killer will waste time investigating.

I am not in denial and no he doesn't break the mode. Does Nurse break normal DBD?

Allow Killers not normally overpowered to have one mode thye can be powerful in, you don't like it? Choose any of the other Killers in the mode, or end yourself on hook, or don't play the mode. Modes aren't even supposed to BE balanced, everyone said the same thing about the other modes being unbalanced, why are we all crying about this one? It's actually pathetic.

A Killer being strong in a mode does not mean that Killer is broken. It's not an oversight, the devs intended it. End of. I will not be entertaining any further discussion from the peanut gallery on this.

Yes, all of you are wrong, here. All of you.

It's so fun to get stalked to 99 and then get exposed when I have little time to react.

Wish I could hear the footsteps of Nemesis or Knight to unsettle me. Or have a Pig roar at me out of the blue or a Victor pouncing at me.

I did have a Myers who refused to go above T1. Now that was a fun match. I gave the person a thumbs up in the end.

But other than that I did the challenges to collect the stuff and good with the modifier.

I agree! It is really fun.

So I will keep playing, and you can go play in the sweatlord regular mode with everyone else. Deal? :)

  • "Oh no! The hard mode is hard and I don't enjoy hard things."

Not the problem at all. Inconsistency/unfairness factor is. And that takes away the fun, even when you do escape. Doesn't feel rewarding.

The point of the mode is it's harder for Survivor and even a bit unfair.

Some people want that challenge. You clearly do not. So don't play the mode, then. It's over in two days anyway.

  • @Laluzi said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3801819#Comment_3801819

Of course Ghostface can always do that. I've done that plenty of times. But it rarely matters in normal DBD. It's a neat bonus if there's a bunch of fog offerings or the survivors have blendy outfits and aren't moving, but for the most part… I can use my eyes and just see people.

In a mode where you can only see an arm's length in front of you, the ability to locate people that do not have a solid obstacle between you and them, but you did not actually see, becomes a lot more important.

I don't know how to emphasize more that in a mode where the point is that you can't see anything, and is balanced around not being able to see anything, having a power that ignores the darkness and goes "hey someone's over there" is really strong. It is not a moot point when everyone is picking him for that reason.

I'm not even sure why we're really arguing this. What incentive does anyone have to not pick Killers that can't track well? Why wouldn't people pick Killers that help them track in this mode? The Devs even actively encouraged it with the first reveal of Lights Out in February, the Killer played as the Legion.

As you point out here, Killers being stronger if they have basekit tracking in this mode is intentional. Candelabras also provide basekit tracking for Survivors. There is no imbalance, there is no issue anymore. Use the candelabras.

  • @Volcz said:

    Reasons (IMO):

    1. Lots of players playing killers that track easily. Tracking is too strong in this game mode and goes against the whole idea of playing in the dark. Legion, Myers, etc.
    2. Not seeing where you're going is not fun. Especially against Dredge.
    3. Dredge players. Don't really gotta expand on this.
    4. Everything hidden on UI, no indication of anything. Not even EGC timer. Awful decision.
    5. Certain killers like Sadako & Alien require you to drop your candles to interact with their TV/Turrets, which makes it pretty problematic when they find you and you have no way of knowing where you're running b/c you had to ditch your candle.
    6. Survivors don't know where all the gens are so 3 gening is incredibly more likely to happen. While killers get to see exactly where every gen is (they should not be able to see these gens in a LIGHTS OUT mode, IMO).
    7. The same BS that happens in regular solo que/quickplay but now with more disadvantages on survivor side. Why would anyone want to put themselves through that more than they need to? Grab the rewards and go back to quickplay.
    8. Lot of killers (almost all) can get within range of you before you know they're even around and it almost always results in a free hit, which just feels slimy b/c you have no chance of making it to a pallet or window to save yourself.

Just a few reasons off the top of my head.

In other news, the difficult game mode is difficult, and not for anyone who doesn't want the challenge of it. Though I agree Dredge shouldn't be allowed in Lights Out. No Killer that seriously alters the game arena like that should. If Freddy is a problem in the mode, then so is Dredge.

Confidently incorrect 😔 They took data for a month, ostensibly from all matches in which there was no DC. If so, there is no "error" here; the numbers are describing exactly what happened over the full set of matches. If they took data from a small sample of matches during this time period, that would introduce some level of error depending on their sample size, but unless you know how large the sample was and how many total matches were played you can say nothing about the margin of error.

Now, please justify why killers are struggling so badly that buffs like the ones I suggested, which disproportionately benefit solo queue, should not be implemented.

You are the one who is confidently incorrect. Killers are not struggling badly and the sheer statistical fact of how data works proves it. I also never claimed Killers are struggling at all, literally nowhere in this thread or anywhere else on these forums have I ever said Killers struggle. In fact the opposite, I have said many times the game is Killer-sided… because it is, on purpose. I don't even need to know the sample size for one month's worth of games used by BHVR as a typical representative, but surely it is a large one because how many games are played in a month? Hundreds if not thousands. The sample size is likely quite large, so there wouldn't be that much error. Any error there is, however, would easily be accounted for by standard deviation, or left out as too much of an outlier because its that screwy.

Again, just go look up what a standard deviation is. If it's within 1 standard deviation of the mean, in this case 40-60%, then it's fine. Anything within that range would be considered balanced, as a result.

    image.png

Assuming the data has a normal distribution - and there is no reason it wouldn't since in a game with limited results and with a big enough distribution, most data tends towards normality - technically a Killer's winrate being 65% or 45% is also within standard deviation of normal… so OK according to the balance team. Now, the data is skewed, sure, towards Killer bias. On purpose. So in reality the standard deviation from the normal is more like, 50%-70% because the game favors Killer side to preserve the horror theming. On purpose, as it should. That doesn't mean it's not in balance though, it means the data has a long tail… which is also a type of normal distribution.

Now you could take several months and ANOVA them if you're really skeptical, but I doubt you'd need to - the data would be the same and the results would still be within the margin of error. That being one standard deviation from the grand Mean. No matter what you do here, the game's data and BHVR's results will not support your claim. Your conclusion is not correct.

The game is in fact balanced at 60/40 and that isn't ever going to change. The Devs are not going to change it to make it easier for Survivors like in the past six years, or for SoloQ - they have done enough, it's up to SoloQ players to make it work now because anything they add to SoloQ will unfairly buff SWF too much and skew the balance AGAIN. Therefore, a 68% Killrate is fine, it's still in the margin of error - and as seen with Billy and Skurchent, BHVR DOES think of Survivors and DOES balance overperforming Killers down, in this case in the form of Skurchent's eventual rework (and sad overnerf), and Billy's coming nerfs should both make it through the patch intact (there will likely be changes but it's likely both will still be nerfed). No other Killers even come CLOSE in kill rates right now, except maybe rare ones like Freddy and Pinhead who can be explained by the confounding variable of these Killers being rare picks few know how to accurately play against OR play very well.

You are like many on these forums trying to present minor little 1%s of percentiles that statistically are not significant as if they are, then trying to slam me as being "incorrect" because I disagree with you when the data actually backs me up. We have no reason to suspect BHVR's data is false, though I really would like to see what statistical methodology they use. And if there's still an issue, then the Devs will address it. Now please stop pretending your error is a fact; the human brain is notoriously bad at stats because it tends to cherrypick based on patterns it sees to draw conclusions. This is a nice trait when we're deciding what berries are safe to eat on a bush, but a terrible one when trying to discuss game balance. You can skew this argument any way you like, but the actual statistical methodology doesn't lie - you aren't winning an argument about statistical fact when the statistical facts disprove you right out of the gate.

What you and many others have done is fallen into a common logical trap, one that our brains are kinda preprogrammed to see. It's understandable but painting a target around loose anecdotal data doesn't mean your data is correct, it means your experience is one of many that actually happens - and the common variable is not "every Killer is too strong", it's YOUR performance. That's what you can control, your performance. If the Killers you get are too strong for you, maybe reevaluate what's going wrong, or check other variables like the randoms in your round before concluding Killers overall are too strong. Doing otherwise ignores a lot of evidence to the contrary of your hypothesis that you just… passed by, all to prove a biased point that you think Survivors need more. They do not, and adding more will not help balance the game the way you think.

BHVR did not lie about or miscalculate their stats. They just so happen to actually disprove you, and you don't seem to like that. Are you lying about, or perhaps miscalculating, YOUR stats?

I kept playing killers I thought would be fun to hear off in the dark...

I played killers like Huntress, Billy, Oni, Demogorgon... Dark Lord and going Awoooooo doesn't get old...

The problem each time was Survivors had a tendency to 3 gen themselves. I wasn't trying to defend a 3 gen, but generally I found in each case I had to just run around the gens trying to find survivors, and that seemed to often result in a tight 3 gen... I guess because the central gens are something you naturally patrol more often.

As survivor I've usually done quite well... mostly cause I often try to break the central gens I wpuld guess, and I suppose whereas in regular DBD I'm often found firdt hen trying to do that, in Light's Out I've often slipped by unnoticed...

I've had fun with the mode, haven't played a huge amount, but if going in with the mindset to try and make it spoopy/have fun it's more enjoyable than playing it really trying to win.

That's honestly what I do as a Ghostface Main, the mode IS very easy for him and I won't deny that, so I have been being pretty damn nice and even letting people go.

I genuinely want to spook people so I'm playing the Stealth Killers I love because extra spooky, I don't see an issue with them having better stealth than normal because of that.

Ghostface is good because he can just swivel into the darkness with his power until someone's icon starts lighting up, and he can find people when he shouldn't be able to.

He can literally always do that. On every dark or indoor map. The info from being Revealed is part of his power, always has been, and a good Ghostface can use that outside the mode too - or is just never caught because they run Shroud cooldown addons. This point is moot.

Gee, who could've seen this exact post coming after the announced distortion nerf?

Oh, right. That would be everyone.

It's probably next on the chopping block for that reason. Get ready.

So if it happens only %1 of the total matches that makes it a healthy gameplay for the game very logical.

1% is not a statistically significant result to ever, ever, EVER worry about. If you have a 1% chance of anything, it's basically almost never going to happen to you.

You have a bad, incorrect definition of slugging if you think it truly happens more than 1% of the time.

Yup. Even though I can't see him in the darkness, I know when Ghost Face is coming because I start breaking him out. I finish breaking him out as I'm running away. Happens quite a bit. I've only been marked once (maybe twice? but pretty sure just once). And I've gone against a lot of Ghost Faces in Lights Out.

And yet we have threads like this and multiple posts whining that STEALTH KILLERS of all Killers are OP in this mode.

Good. It's the stealth mode, of course they're OP in it. They're stealth Killers in the stealth mode. Let them be strong in this one mode and stop complaining. Nobody has to play it, we all have the items by now.

Just make in-game chat a thing already jeezz and buff killer accordingly. It's not difficult, games have been doing it for years.

No. I do not wanna be called slurs by the random. They already sandbag me and my team enough.

Yes, killers are desperate for win, why survivors should waste 4 minutes in the ground doing nothing when they want to go next?

I don't care about the hatch, I want to go next instead of seeing the sweaty killers hungry for their precious 4K

And Survivors are desperate to escape. Your point?

Killers are allowed to 4k. This entire post reeks of Survivor rulebook. They could have a 4k challenge. They could be going for adept. They could just want to. Hatch exists for this reason, go take a hatch offering or something if it's an issue. Learn to hide and abandon ship better, I dunno.

Just please be quiet, take your L, and move on.

I played him and he felt pretty ridiculous since the reveal mechanic doesn't even work properly to begin with and they couldn't reveal me while staring at me dead in the eye and they said they couldn't even see me while doing so due to the fog. It's okay to admit your favorite killer excels.

That's just a Ghostface thing tbh. The reveal system is jank. Always has been. Unknown actually has the same issue.

Stop being mad that Killers have synergy with things, they're allowed to. It's not okay to ban Killers just because they do well in one little mode that is only a week in length. It's also okay to have some Killers be better than others at a modifier, especially when they are normally just a pretty balanced low B to high C Killer that isn't problematic.

  • … man this thread sure is silent about those "major anticamp buffs" that most assuredly did not and will not be coming now, huh? Wonder where OP went…

Looking at survivor gen perks, Hyperfocus is like a 1.6% pickrate, while perks like Overzealous and Fast Track are less than 1% pickrates. Prove Thyself is semi-popular (6% i think) and Deja Vu is undoubtedly meta. But most of the survivor top 10 perks are chase related - WoO, Lithe, Adrenaline, Iron Will, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, and DS. Resilience is popular but used for both gens and chase.

Fwiw I don't like referencing Nightlight but it's really all we've got and comparison to official stats in the past show it's close enough, so I'm just drawing from there.

The killer meta is the opposite - mostly gen slowdown, and a couple chase perks. I think it kind of goes to show where each side is overall weakest - for killers it's generally map pressure, for survivors it's chase/tile knowledge. So all that to say, I can't see the meta changing much but for those of us who aren't interested in playing meta we need more toys for sure.

That's fair. I just don't like the idea of giving the strongest kinds of players - very strong Killers and SWFs - even more tools to destroy any and everyone that isn't the same standard as them.

  • Unfortunately it's not in BHVR's wheelhouse what people do on other platforms. If you see it, report the gamertag via the website here, there's a report feature here. You CAN get people banned this way for exploits if you see them doing it, but TikTok, Kik, and other sites never will.

hey @HerInfernalMajesty my main issue is finding survivors. super boring looking around for them.

The main issue i see people complain about is certain killers power. It just to many killers who are extremely unbalance with no TR and minimum line of sight. About time you see Billy sprinting to your gen it to late, legion just have way to much info to the point u can't even do anything, myers/GF Stalking mechanic is just way to strong in this mode. Certain killers need to be completely ban from this mode for one reason or another. Nurse is completely useless.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3798414#Comment_3798414

i mean u do get off the record at basekit with faster gen speed so i can see that. I just felt the chase aspect of dbd was way less enjoyable for me.

Bro please re-evaluate your opinions when you're legit upset that NURSE of all Killers is invaludated in this mode. Let weaker Killers like the Stealth ones have ONE mode that lets them be strong. Why is it bad to have a mode that allows some Killers to work better than others? I will never understand that.

Can't you just have fun being jumpscared like everyone else?

I'll take Ghostface over 'enjoy running in a black void for 60s' Dredge.

Ghostface's actual reveal mechanic is unaffected even though you can't see him through the dark. As long as you keep swiveling your camera, when you sweep over his direction, you'll get the reveal noise and you'll know to start running (and which direction to start running from.) Myers is harder to spot, but he's also harder to play perkless and less common to encounter, at least in my games.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3800752#Comment_3800752

I mean, you can't say "just don't play it" when they throw in limited licensed content that asks you to play 15-20 matches of it if you want it. I'm a vampire girlie - I didn't want to play Lights Out, but how else am I supposed to get my Castlevania swag?

I do agree that items shouldn't be locked behind modifier tomes, let us complete tomes for modifiers in regular modes. What is so wrong with that?

I also agree, even though I love playing Dredge, that Dredge should be banned from this mode. Nightfall is just too, too much in it.

If the PTB goes through, Corrective Action will soon work on your own skillchecks. That means if you hit a few great skillchecks, you can "store" up to 5 greats for later.

If you bring Stake Out, Hyperfocus and Corrective Action, you can guarantee up to 9 Great skillchecks, realistically even more if you are able to hit a few greats as you go. It'll probably get nerfed, but I for sure wanna test it out.

Even if Corrective Action changes don't go through, if you get really good at Hyperfocus+Stake Out, you can absolutely shred gens, but you gotta not miss. Don't even need a toolbox if you can hit your greats.

Big, big if. That rework has problems of its own, and likely won't go through if it's proven those problems are enough to make it too powerful.

  • Distortion counters 50+ perks, items, and even basekit powers over on Killer side.

Lightborne counters two items and about five perks.

They aren't the same and this comparison is the most ridiculous, disingenuous thing I have EVER seen. Everyone said they want more chase, aura reading facilitates finding people to chase. Don't you also want more fun chase? Then you should also want Killers to find you more, so chase can happen more. Aren't you sick of the gen perks? Don't you want more interaction and fun?

There's valid reasons to not want Distortion changed, but this? This argument is not it, fam.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I can't play it but I want to see someone test out Poised because I want to see how often it actually works. The change sounds like it's only when you first touch a gen but then the description says you can keep an eye on where the killer is throughout the game. Hoping it's the latter. Killers have so many aura reading perks, it's time survivors get their own.

I do agree the Poised change is good and I would prefer just… everyone to have an aura read and chase meta rather than the stale, boring 3gen versus genrush meta we currently have. Just gut every single generator perk and item to the ground, PLEASE. It's so much more fun to see chase shenanigans than another four stacked gen slowdown or a bunch of sweaty genrush.

  • I really don't care about MOBAs and wouldn't play one set in this universe. I am perfectly happy with my horror asym.

I am not at all interested in Project T either.

  • @BlackRabies said:

Only change i would make is to have certain killers banned from this mode. GhostFace and Meyers with their stalk ability is lets them bypass the darkness letting them see survivors rather far. Maybe few others that can easily exploit the advantages that they have.

As a Ghostface Main I am TELLING you it really isn't that easy. We can't see you highlighted from a distance. We have to point blank stalk and risk a Reveal, or guess.

He's just not as overpowered in the mode as people are claiming.
