  • Survivors, it's gotta be Nicolas Cage and Jane Romero, maybe Vittorio too.

Killers, I'm gonna go with Ghostie in first place. I'd say Trickster too, since that's part of his deal, but it feels kinda hit or miss what outfits look cool or just weird. I might throw in Deathslinger and Oni too, and I'm on the verge of throwing in Unknown, but it doesn't know or care what it's wearing, let alone that it's wearing clothes.

I'm 23 (F), have discord, play from PC (steam). My time zone is GTM+3, but i can be flexible to play with people from different time zones :)
My steam name is Cats Lover, add me there whenever u want :3

Quick update! I tried to find you on Steam and there's like a million different Cats Lover accounts lol

The games are so good. I play Castlevania 1 literally every single day for like 10-15 min. I’ve beaten it before but usually I get stuck on stage 12. It’s so good. Great music, great gameplay, great story and great enemies.

Yeah I've heard nothing but good about them, and like I said, I know they're pretty historically important to gaming as a whole. But I just haven't gotten a chance I guess.

there is still a chance we get a map.

They could give us instead a map variant for example.

They did the same with skull merchant back then and didnt include that in the roadmap if i recall correctly.

That's fair. I don't remember there being a new map on the roadmap with SM either, but they did hint at the changes during the usual teaser week. So who knows, maybe we will see a change. We'll just have to wait and see.

That's the thing, I shouldn't have to handicap myself to give the other side a chance. I want to be able to go all out with max effort trying to win each game and it still be challenging, just like every other pvp game.

Holy crap I really can't tell if you're joking or not now.

The problem with this, unfortunately, is that people can manually disconnect their internet, so adding forgiveness for dropped connection gives savvy players a way to DC for free. The game can certainly track who left from Leave Match versus who lost connection, but there's no way to tell if that lost connection was an outage or a bad connection or just someone turning their router off and back on.

I think the current system, while imperfect, is probably the fairest thing we can get. People who reach penalties that are debilitating instead of mildly annoying are either manually disconnecting regularly enough to be a problem, or have such bad internet they can't finish most of their matches.

Actually that does make sense, I guess I didn't think about it like that. And yeah, my internet is bad but not that bad lol. Thanks for the response, genuinely!

  • Honestly I just wish there were some way for the game to tell if you left yourself or if you got kicked off somehow. Depending on the day, my internet can be kinda meh, and I've been kicked out of games just because of that. And then I have to deal with a penalty for DCing when I didn't do it. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've ever DCed of my own volition since I swapped to PC.

  • I genuinely can't tell if this is satire or not. If it isn't, the problem is in the very first sentence and put in little parentheses.

Slugging is the most boring way to possibly play DBD. The survivors don't like it because they can't do anything, and the killers usually don't like it because it's too easy, slow, and overall just a scummy way to play. And on top of that, you chose the slugging royalty that is the Twins (which is unfortunate for them because they're actually fun now).

When you play in a fun way and don't slug everyone, the game is fun. So again, I hope this is satire, because even a moron like me knows that that's common sense.

Damn it, I want Trevor... If he gets into DBD I might actually start playing someone other than Jeff.

I would definitely prefer show over the game. Mainly because I didn't even know there is a game.

I only guessed Simon/Richter because they're the ones in Smash Bros tbh, but I fr have no idea.

That said, as cool as the show version would be, I think the game is gonna be the foundation (mostly because someone earlier mentioned Konami was involved). Plus, the games are supposed to be pretty foundational for video games as a whole (I probably need to play them sometime).

  • As far as I know, it's gonna be Killer and Survivor only (I wish there'd be a map though :/), and I'm pretty sure it's gonna be based off the games but I've also heard people say it could be the show version.

Besides that, it's almost 100% certain Dracula will be the killer, and my personal guess is that the survivor will either be Simon or Richter, whichever one is considered more iconic (I genuinely don't know tbh).

  • Honestly I'm kinda in the same boat (just moved over to PC about 6mo ago, still not great) and the only friends I have that play DBD are the stereotypical toxic survivors, so it's kinda hard to just have fun when you've got a couple others in your ear talking about how the killer is either terrible at the game or too overpowered (they said exactly that about a Huntress we played against).

Point is, if you're down to play I'm up for it. If it's important though, I'm 24M and live CST, so I'm a few hours behind you lol

  • I'd like them all but I think the idea of some kind of alternate skin would be cool. Plus, there's so many things they can do with it.

  • Unknown is definitely strong, and ridiculously fun. Matter of fact, I think he's (it's? IDK.) the closest killer to a main I have right now just for the fun factor. That said, I'm kinda donkey cheese when it comes to consistency. Sometimes it's a great night of 4Ks and letting goofy players go, and other nights it's just me getting absolutely obliterated (no matter the killer).

I say all that to just say this: it seems like you're just a skilled, consistent player, and to that I gotta give kudos.

To go back to what I said about Unknown being strong earlier… I don't think he's S tier, but he's definitely A tier, if not a top 10 killer.

  • I know you're just playing around but I've loved the goofiness of Weave Attunement. I don't always get value but when I do it's pretty cool.

The Cigar Box/Makeup Kit combo is pretty nasty though for sure.

  • Legion. Everyone else I'm perfectly fine with. I have just always hated going against them and it's gotten to the point where I feel bad if I do play them, so I just don't

  • My guy, I think you just had a rough game. Any killer can feel oppressive in the right hands, but Wraith is genuinely in a perfect spot right now. Sure he can be annoying, but again, so can any killer.

  • Oni is honestly the least likely to kill you outside of a trial, just don't make fun of samurai or pretend to be a samurai.

  • I came to this at just the right time with Peanits responding a few minutes ago.

I've always enjoyed seeing what you creative artsy people can come up with, so I'm happy to see we're still getting the cosmetic contest! That said, we def need a revival of Shark Blight, that would be so fun.

  • Ok this is gonna have to wait until after I get home, and it's not my story. But my dad worked in a hospital for a few years running their sleep lab and boy oh boy, he has told me some of the scariest ghost stories I've ever heard that he had to watch happen. Somehow since he was a kid he's been seeing ghost stuff happen and I'm lowkey jealous to the point of wanting to go on a real ghost hunt thing, but that's beside the point.

One story I will quickly mention is that one night he had to stay at the lab, he had a patient that was in Room 4, which I think was the real hotspot if I remember right. Patient was sleeping great, getting titrated to the best pressure for them (anyone who has a CPAP knows how those studies are), and all of a sudden the lamp flew across them. They couldn't have picked it up because they were asleep. But sure enough, the lamp went from on the ground to on top of the patient.

I used to be skeptical of these stories, but in recent retellings, I can see my dad genuinely getting scared remembering it. He's always been something of a stoic, so him being visibly scared by these stories is big for me. Maybe that's what makes them so scary for me, but I don't know.

Anyway, I have more of his stories, but I'll get back to it once I get to the house.

  • Deliverance is good as it is, no buff or nerf is needed.

  • I think Trapper, Myers, and Freddy are in desperate need of some kinda buff. Like, taking away the whole deal with Myers being able to essentially lose his power would be INCREDIBLE, and that's like, the biggest thing needed between all three of them.

Besides that, some QOL changes for Knight and Pyramid Head would be great. I love Knight, but you basically need Map and Call for the guards to be viable, and even then, they're mid. Plus, he's crazy buggy. And then Pyramid Head… both him (and Slinger fr) need some addon fixes. Otherwise, everyone else feels ok to me.

Effect is not bad, but as you said. Cooldown keeps it from even remotely viable.

Make it like 50 seconds and it might be good enough for some builds.

This perk definitely doesn't live up to it's name.

Couldn't agree more, the cooldown needs to be buffed. I still think it's a fun little perk, but it isn't anything super incredible to use.

  • I agree with a lot of these, but I wanna throw in Oppression. Even though it has a horrible cooldown, it's such a neat perk because it lets you hit three gens at once. It's insanely underrated imo, and it can really work on any killer, so Demo should be all good.

But your average game isn't against four man comp squads, it's mainly solos which makes tier lists irrelevant.

There's not really a correlation between comp vs. solo-q and how powerful each killer is though, y'know? To use the same example I did earlier, Plague is still much more powerful than Trapper at their peaks whether it's comp or solo.

  • It's decent. The biggest thing is that it doesn't cause Incapacitated anymore which is what made it so powerful.

Yeah, this needs a solution from the game design end. There's a lot of things people can do to drag the game out longer to annoy people deliberately.

Things like anti-slug on a 2v1 (and reworking adepts to discount the hatch etc), a bleed out faster button, and a give up button for killer once the gates are open would be welcome changes for me.

Yeah, those would actually be pretty nice. I know it isn't the main focus, but the adept thing would be really nice. I've been scared to try adept for that exact reason.

    Point is, yes, correct.

13 June 2024 for the Twisted Masquerade.

Dude I didn't realize it was that close. I'm so hype for it.

  • I'm just happy to see that people want a solution to the toxicity.

Ultimately, some people just suck. They want to win because they don't see themselves winning anything or anywhere else in life, which I hate for them, but that doesn't warrant acting like a piece of crap to a stranger. All that just to say, I wouldn't take it personal by any means, but I do understand the anger fully.

In terms of a solution, they're working on that finisher mori thing, but if I remember right, that's only for the last survivor in the trial. Stuff like you described though, where the killer is clearly gloating, I think that could have something like the anti-camp. Like, the killer is standing right next to a slugged survivor and isn't doing anything, after maybe ten(?) seconds a timer starts that'll let you pick yourself up. Otherwise, if they start running after someone else or whatever, it's just up to getting healed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I am by no means a professional game dev or balance guy or whatever. I'm just someone who enjoys DBD and tries my best to help everyone in whatever game I'm in have fun. I'm by no means perfect with even that goal, but I just don't see that need for being a piss-poor individual in a video game.

  • I feel like Clown and Slinger are both a little too high, swap Oni and Xeno around, and Nemesis is a little too low, but otherwise it seems about right to me.

    @CountOfTheFog said:

Tier lists are pointless. It all depends on who is playing the Killer.

And technically this is correct, but some killers are inherently designed with more powerful abilities that, when used to their fullest potential, make them stronger than the others. For example, there's no question that at their highest, Plague is stronger than Trapper. Obviously I'm not trying to start a heated argument or anything, I'm just wanting to say that I both agree and disagree, if that makes sense.

  • I personally haven't seen it, but my experience and your experience aren't gonna be the same. Granted, I play killer much more often, but even when I do play survivor, usually it's someone on my team being toxic.

I'll be honest, I have no idea how many hours I have (started the week Twins came out by coincidence and played on and off up until Dredge came out, only to swap over to PC last December) but on killer side, I do see that games can be a little more stressful if I really have my mind set on a win. And that's heightened when it's a killer I don't have a lot of experience with (heck, I played Oni for the first time on PC last night and I was so happy to have gotten a 2k after using my power in the most mid way possible).

All that to say, if they really wanna win, the killers you go against might be doing cringe stuff like tunnelling, or they could be doing it on accident - I know I have. But if they're camping or something, that's another problem entirely. Sorry for the long winded answer, it's what I'm best at 😅

  • Vecna's anything but weak. I'd honestly call him an A-tier killer that has some fair but strong abilities and fun counterplay. Each ability has some sort of good usage that, if used right, gets awesome value in game. I'd say use Fly to get across the map fast; Flight of the Damned to either get a hit or, more commonly, slow down whoever you're chasing; Mage Hand exclusively in chase; and Dispelling Sphere to disable the magic items that survivors can get throughout the game or find survivors with relative ease.

Ultimately, Vecna's only weak if he's used wrong. That's not supposed to sound douchey, I'm just being honest, and I don't want that to come across rude in any way.

  • Literally it isn't that deep. The perks are still decent, they just aren't as oppressive. Plus, this is a good way to try out builds that don't center on damaging gens.

  • I think the assumption is that you aren't gonna be able to proxy-camp as efficiently using Vecna's powers as you can with Singularity. With Vecna, you can pretty much just do anti-loop, find relatively nearby survivors to chase off, shoot the skeletons, and fly away. Singularity can watch everyone from virtually everywhere, so you can effectively keep people away from the hook or get back to the hook.

In other words, it just isn't really fair for Singularity to do that kinda stuff because that's what a lot of people would end up doing. He's strong enough with the slowdown anyway.

  • This really depends on who you ask. A lot of people still hate going up against her because they think she's boring, and that's ok (I personally enjoy her but still). Other than that, it's mostly just residual hatred from how she once was as well as how hard BHVR tried/is trying to push the community to like her.

That all said, a lot of people who do play her are still toxic in how they play. Sadly, that's how a good few specific-killer mains are. I used to be a Knight main because I thought the Guards were fun for several different things, but I was one of few who didn't 3-gen. I even had two people give up on first hook in the same game, and I just felt bad and realized it was because I was playing Knight (which I've talked about before but still). Point is, some people just hate the stereotypes enough to just quit against whatever killer.

Well, if you ever want someone to play dbd with I wouldn’t mind at all! 😊 I just hope you have a high threshold for silliness. But I do still try to win and escape as well, but I never get upset or make excuses or anything like that.

I'm so down! And don't worry, I'm all for the goofs but I also like winning lol. Just a fair warning though, now that I've swapped over to PC I'm kinda having to restart all my progress on both sides :/

  • I don't care to use slowdown that much, if at all, and I personally do fine as it is, so I'm fine with it I guess.

  • It just means your internet's unstable. Mine's the same way usually, but I'm also in the worst area of my hometown for ISPs. Either way, don't sweat it too much. Long as you can still play normally you should be good.

  • I hope there's a rework sometime in the near future, because of all the licensed Killers, he (and Michael) deserves it the most. Sure the killrate is ok, but I'm sure BHVR is also aware of how lame Freddy has become. It doesn't help that it's the remake version, but that's more of a licensing thing than a BHVR thing.

All things in mind, Freddy needs the fix so bad. He has so much potential that needs to be shown, even if that's limited to essentially his same power set.

  • I mean, yeah it's okay to say that but whether or not people agree is gonna be up for debate, as we've seen.

I think this is gonna come down to what Killer you're playing against and, more importantly, how they're playing. I know that's a profound thing to say but still lol

  • Yeah no problem! I hate that I couldn't help out more but regardless, I'm happy to have tried lol

Yup he looks really fun, and I am positive he will also be fun to verse. Again the only concerning part being Mage Hand.

But I am also positive that some small number changes is everything he'll still need going forward, if at all. Maybe he'll be perfect the way they are releasing him.

We'll find out Monday either way! And I'm glad I'm not the only one hyped up for him lol

  • @OrangeBear said:

It's confirmed to be June 3rd, which is a monday, which is unusual, but that is the confirmed date.

And yeah, it is pretty strange that it's Monday instead of Tuesday, but I'd never complain about an extra day of a new chapter.

  • I think it's on Monday? That's what I kept hearing at least.

  • Honestly I play solo-q (when I do actually play survivor) because my friends who will play would rather play anything else, plus they're pretty toxic in game :/

  • Yeah, Xeno is pretty weird. I think the biggest help for me was aiming up a little, and then dragging down if needed. The hitbox acts kinda like a rock tied to a rope: it doesn't go perfectly straight, but kinda goes down while going forward (not my analogy, that was from Otz).

The best comparison in terms of another Killer is Nemesis. His tentacle can be moved side to side and still register a hit, and Xeno's tail is like that but vertical.

  • Thank you for reminding me about this, I'll be hitting that up this evening.
