That's a point I really should've thought about and somehow didn't, thanks for the reminder. Now I feel even worse for them lol

Your post gave me chills on my back
That is literally the best thing I've ever had anyone say about a single thing I've written, thank you :')
-
I'm sure over time there'll be new, much smaller things here and there to fine-tune, but I'm right there with you. Vecna sounds like he's gonna be incredible and I'm beyond hype for everything
-
I thought this was talking about survivor players at first and I was gonna make a whole spiel about the great give-uppening we have right now, but based off the lore… I think I gotta go with Thalita and Renato.
Think about it, they were just hanging out on the beach flying kites, and they just suddenly see some big business guy get literally slaughtered by this crazy lady who's trying to be like her dad's manga character (they don't know that last bit but still). And then as they're running away, they get taken into another dimension, never to be seen by their family and friends ever again.
On top of all that, there's one more thing that's actually pretty rough that I personally consider canon, but I got it from a Youtuber so take this part with an entire rock of salt. If I recall correctly, it's implied through the lore that Thalita actually goes kinda crazy because of everything. Even after being taken by the Entity, she sees her and Renato running on the beach towards safety. So, if that's true and I'm not accidentally making that up, that means that Thalita is in a semi-conscious state of being, perceiving the trials as herself and Renato on the beach, still in their lives in their world. Along with that, think about Renato! Thalita is his rock, and if she has a crumbling sanity, his foundation may as well be gone.
There're definitely worse stories where you feel bad about the survivors (shoutout Meg and Jeff), but for me, the Lyra siblings steal it. Maybe I'm biased because I think of myself and my younger siblings, idk.
-
I don't wanna sound like a broken record or anything, but I think Pinhead's in a pretty nice spot overall. The only things in my opinion are how the camera zooms out when you use a chain (which I'm pretty sure was confirmed to be a bug) and, like sizzlingmario4 said above me, him being able to break his own chains off of survivors.
Other than that, he's pretty dang good. I'd put him somewhere from low-A tier to mid-B.

Dude, you outright insulted me when I’m providing examples of why it’s oppressive. You’re the one not reading the room and thinking my posts have any sort of aggression in them. I bluntly responded to you after attacking my character and that’s what you’re surprised about? First guy I straight up just told them the leniency on it was detrimental but I have no qualms with them. Just, you know, arguing. Something people do.
I didn't attack your character. I simply suggested that you don't want to admit you're wrong and, as such, get aggressive over something as unimportant as one character in a video game.

Your argument is juking a literal 180 hitbox and then implying I don’t know the Killer I’m playing against.
I’d argue you’re outright not contributing to the argument and lying about the people you’re talking about. Your word salad is saying the equivalent of “skissue, should’ve just dodged lmao”
No. I played I Oni. I played during the PTB. I 180’d people with ease. Once I learned that the tech was still around, I continued 180’ing people with ease till I slowly realized how monumentally easy it is to pull off.
If you want another example then look at Pyramid Head flicks. Near same execution. The difference is the thing you’re talking about ACTUALLY applies here. The AOE is telegraphed and difficult to pull off once they see you using it.
Oni is in constant control. The survivor don’t get a say in if they get flick’d or not. You wanna know why? Because just like PH, Oni instantly turns his camera and model to your direction. This is not a PH AOE you can dodge, this is a Demon Strike out of Dash that is impossible to dodge and the only constant keeping it in check was the limited turn radius.
First off, calm down. Second off, I'm literally the third person in a row telling you you're just straight up wrong. Nobody has agreed with you, and with how aggressive you are, I guarantee the two others that do agree with you don't even wanna participate. I'd love to see irrefutable proof that Oni flicks don't require skill to do correctly though.
No matter what, like I mentioned before, this is still just over a video game. Or, to put it in simpler terms, it's not something worth getting this heated over, and if you can't see that then you may need to reevaluate some stuff in your life.
-
Yeahhhhhh, the game isn't exactly very new-player friendly, but I see that as a problem of both not a lot of things being explained and a pretty volatile community. Granted, I've met a lot of great people in the game, but then you get into these forums and Youtube comments and the Twitter (sweet Lord avoid the Twitter) and you realize that for every friendly player there's a douchebag ready to make up for that.
In terms of the game itself, there's a good few things that even the tutorials don't tell you, but I think there are a couple things coming next Tuesday that'll help out with that (i.e., Killer-specific items getting description boxes). Even then, though, there could still be beginner adjustments.
Ultimately, take some time to be bad at the game. Watch content creators because it genuinely helps, and play both sides. Getting better at survivor will make you a better killer player, and vice versa. And above all else, ignore the pieces of crap in the community.
Whether or not you decide to try the game again, I hope you don't have an experience like you had again.
-
I hate to say but you're just wrong on every front. Oni is still counterable even if he tries for 180 flicks, or just flicks in general. All you need to do is juke him out, and sometimes you don't get it. That's it.
On top of that, just because Blight had his hugs removed doesn't mean he's suddenly so much weaker. His counter is still the exact same as before, and is coincidentally the exact same as Oni: just juke him out. That's it. Still.
The others are correct here. You arguing against it just shows an unwillingness to admit that you unironically are dealing with a skill issue, as many of us have and still do. Let go of the pride man, it's just a video game and sometimes people are better.

game is survivor sided not surprised
The game is sided to whichever side is smarter with their choices. Saying that one side or another is at an advantage outright is just plain wrong.
-
They're pretty easy to counter, just look for anyone who may be nearby, or if someone just pops up (usually Background Player which is getting nerfed), look up. Sometimes if they time it right, you can't look up in time, which is what the first option is for.
This is especially easy on Doctor. Just use the big shock to see if anyone is around, get them away, and pick up.
-
After thinking about it more, I regret not voting for Mummy first because that would be so great in game.

Honestly I can't think of any that are overrated per se. Maybe Pyramid Head but that's less on him and more on the add-ons. With some tweaks, he's got massive potential. Even with that said, he's still pretty strong.
The only ones I have concrete opinions on are ones I think are more underrated, but that wasn't the question lol.
-
I don't play survivor a whole lot (especially now that I switched to PC), but I always played Solo and it never really felt that bad. Maybe that's just me, but regardless, the only time I didn't like it was when I got tunneled, camped, all the things everyone hates. But that was rare at best for me.
My experience isn't like everyone's though, so take my input with like, a salt lick or something. I've heard horror stories and seen toxicity on both sides, but still, that's my experience.

Yea I think the ideas are starting to run out now for BHVR alot of rinse and repeat perks
I'm sure there'll be a new idea at some point (new Scourge Hook please BHVR) but we just gotta wait for it. Creativity ebbs and flows like waves in the sea.
-
No wait… I think I know how they need to do this.
Make it some weird, horror-laced Crash Tag Team Racing that actually feels good to play. I remember loving that game as a kid somehow, and I think the goofy shenanigans of having car powers based off pairings from the Entity would be incredible.
Think about it: you see a Nicolas Cage in a mini-limo driving beside a Hag in a dilapidated boatmobile. Suddenly, they fuse together, with Nick suddenly driving a gross, rotted-wood limo thing with party bus lights and a steamboat wheel in the back. Behind him, on a little platform thing, is the Hag, who now has the power to place the hex symbols on the track every few seconds, and when tey trigger, they get blocked by a jumpscare wall thing.
-
I mean, Rapid Brutality and Batteries Included are both decent on certain killers (Rapid on Clown is insane), but unless it's on those killers, they're pretty boring. I love what BHVR has been doing lately and I appreciate the work they've been putting in, but the Haste stuff is kinda boring.
-
TCM seems awesome but DBD is just not dying anytime soon, plus if you don't enjoy it that's your thing. You're allowed to stop playing. Most of us are gonna continue though.
I want TCM to do well. That said, I've still never been able to get into a game and I've owned this game since last Christmas.
-
I just need to come back here for recommendations, thanks for everything so far lol
-
I don't know much about anime and manga (though I really wanna watch), but I love me some Junji Ito. Some kind of collab with him would be PEAK.
-
Big win frfr, I'm about to be on the grind for some BP. Plus, this is just a great mode.
-
This is an incredible idea and I sincerely hope someone at BHVR sees this. Plus…

They should sell it as a charity pack where you get a Killer & Survivor Charm, a Badge and a Banner.
The idea of a charity pack is kind of perfect (and they could do it for even more than just this, but I think this would be a great start).

Thanks! When it came to the vines, I really just picked the first number that came to mind without really thinking about it too much. Not the best at the balancing part of making the concepts. Luckily, I think I am getting better. Still really appreciate the support!
Yeah I get that, nothing wrong with that lol. Just keep at it, the passion's definitely there!
-
I think, once again, great concept! Kinda like Kupega said earlier, the power seems fun but not strong quite yet. Maybe like having four vines able to be present at once?
Everything else seems super interesting and I'd love to see something like this in game. Might need to watch the movie too lol. Again, great job and keep it up! The more you do, the better you get!
-
I think lobby shopping is mostly happening because of bully squads. I don't see them that often, but I personally don't enjoy games with them, so I just hop into any other lobby. Obviously that isn't ideal for anyone, but neither is dealing with those bully squads.
Quitting in game is just trash, straight up. That's for everyone involved. On Survivor side and one of your teammates quits? Suddenly the team is at a massive disadvantage. On Killer side and that happens? Suddenly the game is not nearly as fun and, maybe it's just me, you just feel bad for the rest of the team. I remember one time I was playing Knight on Midwich (nothing crazy, especially with how I play), and the first two people I hooked just gave up on the spot. I let the other two out because nobody was gonna have fun at that point, but somehow we did. They gave me a couple hook states, a few gen damages, but they did the gens while I just kinda spun around for the most part.
That's really long winded, but I'm just trying to say that while hopping lobbies isn't ideal, I also get it more than just straight up quitting mid-game. Hopefully that all came across right because I'm bad at words as it is, but then plain text behind a screen can be interpreted in ways not intended.

Jason has been BHVR's Moby Dick for the last 8 years or so, anything less than a full chapter wouldn't do an IP that is as anticipated and requested like Friday The 13th justice, especially since next anniversary is on June 13th, which is Jason's birthday.
My thoughts exactly.

I agree, it'd be a bit of a bummer to finally get Jason after all these years and it's just a solo killer. He's definitely an inclusion that would benefit from the full chapter treatment. A Camp Crystal Lake Map would be beautiful, and imagine all the secrets they could include. Finding his Shack in the woods would be sweet.
Art is the exact kind of Killer who'd get a weird snowball centric power, he'd fit like a glove in the game imo.
To both of those… THAT'S WHAT IM SAYING. They'd literally both be so sick and while there's other licenses I'd love to see, them two are my top picks, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they'd both be awesome lol

I just wish it wasn't tbh, as a killer main i don't ever feather (hit survivors on hook) or WS, and never indulging in toxic or unfair behavior, yet toxicity is still done in return, it's just so weird to me.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to feather real bad when I was a baby killer because I'd seen someone else do it so I figured it was helpful. Nowadays I look back and feel kinda embarrassed.
Ultimately though, it's not something you can really help that much. Toxic players feel better about themselves for acting toxic and all you can do is hope they realize how bad they look.
-
Unknown is in a pretty great spot imo. You gotta play him like a weird mix of Clown and Ghost Face almost, since you gotta try to not be seen and the trajectory of the UVX feels like the bottles (to me at least). The only difference is that UVX, if done right, can down survivors.
That's just when you're in chase though. When it comes to anything else, the teleport is the biggest thing. Aura reading/Undetectable plus that near instant teleport is one of the best things with him. I'd say overall he's still low-A to high-B, but that's just my opinion.
-
I think the one time I teabagged other than to say hello to a fellow teammate, it was to get a camping Trapper away from another teammate to try and help them (oddly coordinated for solo-q, but it worked great).
Unless it's clearly that or just trying to be funny, it's 99.999999999% of the time just to bother you. Kinda the same with killers WS'ing slugged survivors, it's just ragebaiting. That's all, nothing other than trying to troll.
-
I'd assume the people who say that are either only-survivor players or they're just trying to get a rise out of you. Slinger is a fun killer to go as and against IMO, and even though he's got his problems, hitscan is not one of them at all.
Kinda like I've seen others say, just ignore them (obviously easier said than done but still). People who actually know the game know Slinger isn't designed like that.

yes they are. I hope the devs see the numbers of this poll, doesnt seem like people really think its disadvantous towards survivors.
Yeah I've only ever seen them as disadvantageous if it's an Iri Myers, and even then it's less of a disadvantage and more of a nuisance.

in my case both is true XD In fact moris give a slight disadvantage because some animations take longer than to get to a hook nearby, only a fiew seconds though.
That's a good point lol, I forgot about that. Either way they're fun though lol
-
We need this in the store
-
They've shown stuff like that in Tomes, like a survivor Trapper and a killer Yui, so the chapter ideas are absolutely there. I think the only thing is finding powers and perks.
For example, Evan could have something having to do with art or the giant spider he killed in the tome, while the evil Yui could have some power having to do with her motorcycle. I'd love to see it either way.
-
I'm just saying yes because I know there are people who would use it, but I expect that would mostly be for memes.
That said, I'd assume that either people would never use it, or the lobby would turn into a classic COD2 lobby.
-
It's just fun seeing rare perks more often. Tunneling is gonna happen no matter what, and while I hate it as much as the next guy (yes, even as a Killer main), it's something others will do either for a tactical advantage or just because they wanna be sweaty.
Ultimately, this is a video game, and unless you get paid per win, it's not worth getting frustrated over (I do get the frustration though, I promise).

Art would be a sick killer, although I wonder what sorta weird power they'd give him. Maybe just a tommygun?
Jason is a must have now that he's back on the table. He's basically the face of the horror pantheon and is one of the last to join it.
I did some thinking and I really feel like Jason could come in for Year 9, which I'm more than ok to wait. It's either that or March, but March is only a Killer, and we at least need Camp Crystal Lake too.
In terms of Art, I thought of an idea of him being a snowball killer, eventually being able to get a gun, but I feel like it's really dumb. Still would be fun though lol

It's a slap in the face to anyone who's experienced it in real life for you to compare it to that, in 2024 you think that's acceptable? Equating a child's made up action in a video game to real life assault? It's disgusting
Sorry to interrupt but it's so weird seeing this be said from a Freddy PFP. I agree with you for sure, but I just thought about that. Anyway that's all from me good bye
-
I just think they're neat. Could they mean it's a sweaty killer? Maybe. But they could also just mean that the killer's just trying to see the thing happen.

Yeah, I am not good at the perks thing. I nearly skipped that part of the process.
Hey, that's how you get better at it y'know? Design, get constructive criticism, and then back to the drawing boards. You did better than I could've with that character, if not in general, so just keep at it! You'll get better and better over time.
-
Renato deserves more love for sure, which maybe I'm only saying that because he reminds me of how I see myself (a little more shy and inward, but loving to his friends and family), but based off the reception of Tools of Torment, idk how likely it is to see more stuff for him.
I feel like Thalita is somehow less popular, but that's more because people who play her act like toxic Neas with less skill usually (in my experience).
Essentially what I'm trying to say is that they both deserve more love but in different ways, if that makes sense.
-
Both licenses and original content have their places. Licenses are good for getting more people to at least try the game, while original content is good for both the devs, since they get to show their creativity, and the established community, because we get to be a little more focused on the pluses and minuses as compared to the "holy cow, it's that character" kinda thing.
That said, I would cry joyfully if Terrifier or Jason got added to the game, though one is much more likely than the other.
