  • Yeah i'm a little worried. Seems camping/tunneling might be even stronger now.

  • No there wasn't any mention of it. I like to run the perk sometimes so it stood out to me that there was no changes to it.

Like I thought there'd be at least one change I'd hate but I really don't. I thought a lot of changes would be kinda meh and a couple are, like coulrophobia. But only a couple. Kinda speechless as well tbh

The only one I don't like is Iron Will. You're either silent or you're not. The exhaustion change I actually really like tho.

  • Woah... this will be interesting....

  • I think it would be better to just increase the amount of time it takes to lock a locker or maybe just make Hadie's Calendar basekit but only when in nightfall.

However I could see an addon that automatically breaks all locks when nightfall starts. Then change Boat Key's second effect to something else, maybe once five gens are done no lockers can be locked again.

  • I do enjoy playing Dredge, but it can incredibly frustrating so maybe that is part of the reason.

His remnant can get you hits at loops, but most of the time the survivor will just run away. This isn't very fun to face, and if loops are close enough together to be chained using your remnant is actually pointless.

Your teleport also is dependent on the locker placements, something out of your control. I had my worst feeling match last night with Dredge when I had to play on shelter woods. Might as well not even have a teleport as there were almost no lockers, and the ones that were there were in places near useless to me. Was not fun being basically denied my power all game.

Its also frustrating to accidently teleport to a locker you didn't want to, or how every locker might as well be locked from the start, not to mention all the time you waste having to break them.

  • Makes no sense that it doesn't, its supposed to cancel anytime you progress the game which opening doors is 100% without a doubt doing. Nerfing this aspect and letting it be used twice has been something i've advocated for in the past.

Because there often isn't? I have been playing a LOT of Dredge, and I frequently have objectives with no easy lockers nearby

Yeah I played a lot of dredge yesterday and noticed this, I think the worst offender for me so far was Haddonfield.

  • I don't really like the void section either as it looks too much like a solid cone as you said. I think the rest of it looks great though and I love the doll skin.

  • I don't like NOED, but I have been using it on Dredge with No Way Out and the addon that starts nightfall at the end of the match to make a spicy endgame.

  • I was very happy the first time I saw it, so much better.

  • It's unfortunate if I was going for an archive or WGLF stack, but it has never bothered me much. I just heal them and then go about my business.

  • I'm fine with this change, and actually its a relief for me. The only issue that might arise for me is if it doesn't count as a hook for something like archives or BBQ. It probably should count, but even if it doesn't that isn't a deal breaker for me.

I'm also incredibly confused about people saying giving hatch is dead. It's simple, you don't need to down them. I've been doing this for quite awhile now. It's much faster this way especially if neither of you know where hatch is since you can cover more ground.

  • IMO, the best nerf to would be putting a requirement of hooking all survivors at least once to activate. Its simple change that also wouldn't matter for most, but will mean you can't get value if you decide to tunnel and camp one survivor all game.

I would prefer a rework however. One that buffs it and makes it more punishing for survivors, but also feels more fair for them too.

All I was saying is it makes no sense for people to assume that it is true like some people do until devs say so, like you said. The stuff that is confirmed is that multiple perks good for her have been buffed and released. It might be possible what you said is true, but without confirmation, it's pointless for it to be brought up in a discussion. "Well (insert anything) is actually (problematic/holding back balance/overpowered/etc) but it's just never been proven." You could make that statement about literally anything, and it would be equally meaningless. You see what I mean?

I see what you're saying and I do understand where you're coming from. I think where we disagree is I personally don't think its pointless to ask this question regarding nurse as she is their strongest killer (i'm also a curious person and like asking questions so it might just be me). This just might be a case of us needing to agree to disagree, but know that I do appreciate the civil conversation and taking the time to explain.

It's not possible to prove non-existence without an explicit statement. The only way to prove something does not exist is to know literally everything else, which is not possible. The burden of proof would be for someone to prove that the devs are actively hampered, not the other way around.

Also, the only "global" buffs that are even needed is stuff like reducing giant map sizes (also bad for Nurse, who only crosses overall distance at roughly same speed a 115% does by walking), adjusting survivor spawn locations (ie, all together or two pairs instead of separated, which doesn't really matter because decent survivors will spread out anyways at the start), and increasing base regression (0.25/s to 0.5/s and Ruin to 100% to match so it's not basically useless, but Nurse either doesn't bother kicking a gen anyways or uses stuff like Ruin/Pop/etc for primary regression so it's also not really much of a difference). And it's not like any of those three are ultra-crucial or the game is unplayable. It's just some stuff of note to get around to eventually, along with stuff like Torn Bookmark/range addons being dumb on Nurse, Alchemist Ring, Midwich being awful and tiny, etc.

Sorry I might misunderstanding your first part or you misunderstood me. What I was referring to when I mentioned the things we don't have are the content/changes that the devs thought of/made and tested, but decided not to implement while never mentioning it to the community. Only the devs know of that stuff and whether nurse was a factor in cutting it. Until the devs come out and say something, its all just speculation on our part and i'll keep it in my mind as a possibility.

  • @SuzuKR said:

Please give conclusive statistical evidence that Nurse consistently overperforms against players of equal skill on an even-sided map. If she is so obviously overpowered and uncounterable, this should be very easy. She is not a guaranteed win, nor is she uncounterable. Matchmaking putting better players against worse players for the sake of queue times is not a balance problem. You can look at how good players loop a good Nurse for an idea of how they mindgame back even without cutting off LOS.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2945450#Comment_2945450

This is a commonly-regurgitated myth. Nurse has been out but this has not stopped significant buffs to perks such as Hex: Retribution/No Way Out/Deadman’s Switch, all of which are extremely good on her. It also has not stopped perks extremely good on her from coming out, such as Pain Resonance, Deadlock, Floods of Rage, Starstruck, so on and so forth. Killers do not really need global buffs in the first place, and the only ones they do would not be an issue on Nurse.

You very much might be right, but unless someone can provide me a recent statement from the devs then i'll still question it. I'm not convinced that the existence of good perks on her is proof that they don't need to consider her. You also need to think of all the content/changes that we don't have, and if nurse played a part. This is something that only the devs can tell us.

  • The main question I have is, is the existence of nurse negatively effecting balance for the rest of the game. Do the devs need to consider her when making new content or balance changes?

  • Honestly I think it would be nice if all status effects had some sort of visual or audio cue even if subtle.

  • While I would prefer they were both reworked, i'll still be fine if they were both just deleted for good.

  • I dread both sides which is mostly due to my anxiety issues and how pvp tends to spike my anxiety. I would say the feeling while playing killer is less but more consistent, while with survivor it fluctuates more making it bounce between being better or worse than playing killer.

  • I don't really have an opinion on Artist as I don't play her and never play against her.

A lot of complaints I hear about her is that her power just encourages holding W, which seems like something valid to complain about right?

Holding W is bad gameplay for both sides, and I remember Overcome being complained about for the same reason. If she does promote that gameplay, than I think wanting changes, not nerfs, sounds reasonable.

  • Everyone else already answered your question, so I just want to say one thing.

It honestly baffles me that we still don't have a time limit. No game should last longer than 30 minutes, but honestly even after 20 minutes I usually just want to move on to the next game. I wonder if the devs are worried it might occasionally end a good game prematurely. Even if that is the case, there is still no reason not to limit a game to an hour at max. Not a single person, including the devs, can argue that its reasonable for a game to last more than an hour.

  • While I wouldn't say it is very hard skill check to hit, I absolutely believe it should be increased in size at the very least.

  • Never heard of Wude before, but I agree its a fun way to play. I've been doing this for years now though my reasons for doing so have changed over time. Don't do this every game, but i'd say every time I play killer i'll do it at least once every three or so games.

  • My top picks would be:

    1. A killer that revolves around fire or the freezing cold/blizzard.
    2. An AOE damage based power, either from something like explosives or fantastical like magic. Might be a good fit for a robotic killer which i've really been wanting.
    3. I would like to see a power that gets stronger if survivors are spread out. For fun I made a killer concept for Amnesia where part of the power involved a mechanic where a survivor not within a certain distance of another survivor would passively gain levels of fear/paranoia. Something like that would be interesting as it there isn't really any killer whose power focuses on making survivors stick together.
    4. A power spike killer, but the spike comes and goes on a set timer. When the power spike comes, it would visually alter the map (similar to Freddy's dream world), but it would actually have more of a gameplay impact such as warping the map, audio, as well as other things. If I could redesign Pyramid Head's power this would be the direction i'd take it.
    5. Something reminiscent of Weeping Angels for a power would also be neat. There a bunch of ways you could translate this into the game. I'm thinking something like each survivor gets their own threat that can eventually down them if they do or don't do a certain thing.

EDIT: What the hell happened to my post??? Alright I've fixed it.

  • "This is not going to be a rant thread...", stopped reading there as you're clearly just a whiny survivor main. /s

I can probably count the amount of times i've played a match of Nurse on one hand, and that'll probably never change. Played against her much more as survivor, but she is still rare and played by players of differing skill levels. Due to that my opinion doesn't hold much weight. All I really have to go off of is the viewpoints of other players more experienced with her. Seems to be agreed that her range addons are strong, probably too strong. Basically i'll take your word for it OP. Especially as the naysayers have not said anything to win me over, and in fact they have done the opposite.

  • As a former Clown main my wish was for it to be reworked into an entirely new addon. Not only do I find it incredibly uncreative, but I believe it promotes bad gameplay.

arachnid killer that sets up nests/webs in lockers and can teleport between them, or lays eggs that hatch ai controlled spiderlings that do.. something. idk what.

Arachnid killer is my top guess too. My only evidence being I keep hearing about some spider from the lore or something, and the fact that part of the six on the anniversary banner looks like a spider leg or something similar to me.

    Thanks man. :)

While I waited to someone to reply I finally got matches that the killer let me fill the recovery bar. I was able to try No Mither + Unbreakable and only No Mither. The result is that they ALMOST DON'T really stack. To fill the bar you need 32 seconds, so Unbreakable should make it fill at 20.8 seconds, No Mither 24 seconds and with both perks you would need 12.8 seconds (assuming all perks are lvl 3).

Thing is that I used a stopwatch and both perks made the bar fill at 19.2 seconds, which would be 40% faster. Assuming there's a minor error in the stopwatch (since I didn't tap the recovery button in DbD and the START one in the stopwatch app at the same time) it's safe to say that Unbreakable "overwrites" No Mither recovery bonus or they stack, but the stack limit is 40%.

You know maybe this is just confirmation bias, but that would explain what I felt yesterday. When I first hopped on the PTB I equipped No Mither, after a game or two I threw on Unbreakable for the Power Struggle/Flip Flop combo and it felt like something was off. I never really used that perk combo before but it seemed like the speed was slower than I thought it was going to be.

The other survivors and killer said that the inside of the houses were pitch dark for them too, so I don't think it's a problem with my PC/game. Don't get me wrong, I love the dark atmosphere of the map, it feels like it was pulled straight out of Halloween. It just needs brightened up slightly just so you can see objects. It doesn't need to be too extreme, just enough to where you can see.

I don't know if I missed it or you added it in the edit, but that second pic I can actually agree that it might be too dark. The other pics (like the first) I can still easily see the locker, but that gen in the second one seems to be completely black even with a lamp right next to it. If they could up the radius of that light source it would help alleviate the problem while not ruining the mood by just upping the overall brightness.

  • Its definitely has dark areas with those areas probably being the darkest in the game (I think). Still though, I never had any problems seeing anything so could it possible its on the user end?

I have been craving more atmospheric/moody maps so I really like the way it looks. If it turns out it is too dark hopefully we get a happy middle ground and the devs don't go to the other extreme.

  • Really the only other use besides preventing Pop is to stop regression from Ruin if you need to get off the gen.

Even when Pop was used more I found it to be mediocre, and nowadays its even more so. I really want to like it, its one of those perks that I will occasionally equip because I find the idea fun. Then I play five games in a row where its just a wasted perk slot and give up on trying to get value. Doesn't help that it can actually hinder your team more than it helps in some situations.

  • Nope, not even gonna give you the gratification of reading your post. Your title alone is enough to tell me you're just another entitled survivor main resorting to your go-to tactic of whining in order to make the game even more survivor sided than it already is. Onyro is Z tier at best, might as well just delete her from the game if you want to nerf her even more. Go back to Roblox LMAO baby survivor.

OK, now if I still have your attention, let me drop the sarcasm and actually talk about your idea. Yeah, the addon is just outstandingly bad and especially for an iri. Definitely agree with your first bullet point, its also how I thought it should function. The other two im undecided on, but at the very least it might actually make it worthy of being at its tier.

The question I want to know is why even bother making iri addons anymore. I thought they were supposed to either really strong or offer an alternate playstyle, possibly both. Seems the majority of them nowadays are neither.

  • Sigourney Weaver and Alma Wade.

Admittedly both are not out of the realm of possibility, at least compared to some others, but I just feel like neither will make it in.

  • If it worked like Haunted Grounds or Retribution than sure I think it could work. A hex that gave the killer an extra 5% movement speed for one or two minutes once cleansed doesn't seem like it would be overpowered, and might even be considered too situational.

  • The one thing i've noticed is once someone is unhooked, they tend to immediately teleport to the closest TV and tunnel the unhooked player.

  • @Zozzy said:

I have yet to get a single survivor condemned. Tv's just respawn to slowly and survivors can remove it easily. I had one game where two survivors didn't even get a condemned ring for half the game because they just ignored tv's and i didn't manage to teleport near them.

I did manage to condemn and kill two survivors in one game, but that was the only time out of a handful of games I managed to condemn anyone.

When you teleport to a TV and turn it off, can a survivor still use it to get rid of their tape? I ask because in the game where I did condemn two survivors, I teleported every chance I got. Don't know if this kept them from reducing their meter or if it was just the amount I was teleporting that kept their meters high.

  • Every single game I played today besides one has been against Sadako. I'm actually getting annoyed at it, I haven't experienced this with any other killer on their release. That said if there is a powered TV next to someone on hook, please for the love of god turn it off before you save.

  • As a board game nerd this is exciting, but the timing isn't the best for me. I'll be spending a chunk of money backing the collectors version of the Deep Rock Galactic board game this month, plus I bought some recent video game releases so i'm short on cash to spend. That said, i'll definitely be backing this when I can, hopefully it turns out good. If not, at least I can display it with the rest of my board games.

  • Outdated and needs changes, which describes basically everything about Myer's kit.

Don't think it even offers fun gameplay either. You can get prematurely KO'd, jump in a locker then hooked and camped, or go 100% immersed and never get spotted. The first two sucks for survivor and the last sucks for killer.

  • @Shaped said:

I don't honestly. Unless he plays huntress like an m1 killer for whatever reason.

It is impossible not to kill a single surv in 40 public games.

Better yet, apparently they are happy just getting one down. Yeah calling bs on that for sure, but I get the feeling OP is just trolling so whatevs.

  • Glad someone has the brains to say it. When I saw the change I couldn't breathe, just what the hell were they thinking. The devs are clearly delusional and have finally gone off the deep end. This is how they kill their game, and the funny thing is not one person asked for this. All they had to do was nothing and they couldn't even do that.

    A. I hope you're happy killer mains, you finally got what you've been whining about. Enjoy your hour long queue when all survivors stop playing due to every killer now running NOED and moris every game to cover for how bad they are at the game. :)

  • There was a time when a survivor could teabag and point at the same time, don't know if it was ever given an official name but I remember someone calling it the pointbag.

  • There is no debate.

I do agree though that it does suck that the perk completely neuters flashlights (often considered one of, if not the worst item), which in turn also encourages survivors to play more efficiently which is bad for killer obviously.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

I think Pinky Finger isn't very healthy. I'd agree with you that the addon is pretty busted, and could honestly do with a rework. There's just so many more interesting things that could be done with an Ultra Rare.

While I personally don't think I would call it busted, everything else you said sums up how I feel about it.

I used to be a Clown main for quite awhile, and RHPF was the only addon of his I despised and never used for two main reasons. The first being how I feel it promotes gameplay that I find stupid and unhealthy (spamming bottles when right on top of a survivor and camping). The other reason is just how uninteresting/uninspired it is for an iridescent. I was hoping they would change it when they last touched his kit, I really wanted something more creative.

To this day I hate addons that grant exposed, and I hate how it seems every killer has one (on top of all the perks now too). I personally feel the exposed status has become oversaturated, and it no longer feels unique or surprising when it does pop up.

  • I'm glad to see more people agree that the check is unnecessary. I made an identical thread awhile back, but it wasn't as popular.

At the very least, the size should be increased which should take no time at all to change but...
