Theres no system like that to my knowledge. It seems to be a random cycle for most people.
huh, i assumed that since the Silent Hill map was the newest was why i was getting it alot.
Guess ill have to look into this more

Thats certainly strange, perhaps you should make a post in the bug reports section if you haven't already.
i play another game called Paladins and the devs pretty well set about 4 maps youll play for that "season" that rotate in and out. I assumed DBD had set of maps each season that the ai would pick more often than the others.

It's mainly cattle farming in the part of Ireland I'm from, sheep farming is a lot more common down south.
yeah, but it think they like sheep in Wales. Some say a little too much....

There is yeah, its called "The Game".
hmm, i only ever get the institute, the corn field, the suburb place, and i think the etstate (whichever one has the little hill survivors like to jump off of).
Ive got the saloon cowboy level a total of 1x since i started and the asian temple place like 2x.

Speaking of VPN, the other day I had a guy accuse all of the other 4 people in the game of using VPNs to play on 'his' welsh server. I'm not sure which part confuses me more the fact he expected a specific welsh server, or that people would want so hard to play in it.
People play video games in wales?

I didn't know I was supposed to let the survivors just up and leave, silly me. Probably should have read the survivor rule book more thoroughly.
In all seriousness though, if I down you even after you do the last gen, you are not entitled to a win. If I downed you, you aren't entitled a chance to walk away.
I down you, I kill you. That's the way the cookie crumbles.
And if you're looping me around your hooked buddy, that ain't camping, that's you being stupid.
lol i was playing Killer last night and hooked a survivor. One guy decides to try to flash light me after i hooked his friend. He blinds me but ive already hooked the survivor, so i just sit there right in front of her blinded and he just sits there clicking his flashlight more.
I really dont know what he was expecting, like was i supposed to run off blind or runaway from his flashlight? I dont get some of these survivors lol

This has been a long-standing thing for years. Using a controller and using a mouse & keyboard are completely different skill-sets.
One thing that I would like to see these PC elitists do is actually pick up a controller, plug it into their PC's and see how well THEY do.
I've been playing console for 18 years, and I've never seen so much prejudice towards console users. I mean, we're all gamers and we have enough sh*t to deal with externally. I don't see why we now need to divide OURSELVES further.
i almost always play with my Dual Shock 3, i dont do bad. I usually get 2 - 3 kills per games and a few times i get all survivors. I dont ay survivor though because i do not like qtes at all in any game.
-
-
i like stealthy survivors,it makes sense in the game. A psycho killer is coming after you, so you can either run or hide.
What i dont like is body blocking, really breaks my immersion someone just throwing themselves in fron of my blade, rarely ends well for them anyway, but its still lame

This is a PVP game. There is nothing toxic one can do INSIDE the game as long as you aren't hacking. You play hard and to win. The Killers seek to kill as many as they can. The survivors seek to get out alive. That's it. The so-called "toxic" comes from whiners, wingers, bad sports, people who strut arrogantly when they win, and the profane. What is toxic is people like you complaining about every single thing. I've been accused of camping when I was merely on the same side of the map as the hook. I've been accused of tunneling when I hooked a different person every time. The truth is I take WHOMEVER is in front of me. That's it. The sad truth is the same sad sack I hooked the first time is usually lower quality and likely to end up in front of me again. Ideally, I prefer to grab people as they pull you off the hook. Then I can't tunnel you because you die on it with your buddies all around you. Man up. Play the game, or go back to Mine Craft.
I get what youre saying, but i disagree. DC just because someone got hooked is toxic, or just going afk and leaving your team with a survivor not doing anything is also toxic. Or even the rare times that a survivor teams up with a killer to screw over their team is toxic(which is actually bannable)

I like killing David and Ash. The reason being when they are running away and looking around it makes them look idiotic. They get this kind of hunch to their back and it annoys me.
I think Ash looks funny because they modeled it after the now (older) Bill Campbell instead of how he looked in the Evil Dead films. Kinda wish they made him look closer to how he did in Poker Night 2

I saw a lot of mad Billy players on here and on steam cos the nerf. I think alot either switched killers, switched to survivor, or dropped the game

This is true, but i mean you dont have to be super accurate in this game, most killers have attacks will hit the survivors if you close enough. I play on pc and use a gamepad (DualShock 3) for almost all games. I just find it more comfy to play on my couch than sitting at a computer desk

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/72PCV6OXLDQS/screenshot-12.png
I take boxes just to sabo for extra points when im trying to get a new perk. Other than that I'm apedt Claudette and a random perk.
I've had a killer tunnel/camp me because, "aftercare and botany is such a broken ass combo" as a rank 1 pyramid head. Like you want to see a new side to DBD play Claudette for a day.
I always went with Heather, because SIlent Hill 3 is one of my favorite games. But ill have to give Claudette a try, this sounds amusing

Ive only been playing a few months but i've never expierenced this and i main killer (ghost face obv), ill have to look out for this next time i see her.

one of my favorite fps games is Paladins, which is free. While it does have toxic player i dont think it lends itself to the trolling possibilities that dbd has. Seeing as f2p games tend to be a haven for trolls, cos i mean if you get banned you lose literally nothing and can just make a new account. I think it would be a bad idea simply just for the amount of toxicity it would bring

Blood drinking mechanic on a vampire is absolutely a must. My own vampire concept had one too:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/169354/killer-idea-the-vampire
You could do some kind of vertical movement ability, however free flight wouldn't work due to how map dependent it is as mentioned in the post I just linked since it came up there too.
hmmm i do like my crow transformation idea, maybe instead of flight he can teleport instantly next to other areas on the map where crows are perched and maybe also have survivors become highlighted when they disturb the crows
-
ok i see, well i wasnt exactly completely set on the transformation power, but id def want to keep some sort of blood drinking mechanic. Another idea i had was give the Vampire a memorize ability that would make the survivor seek out the other nearest survivor so the vampire could follow them and have the opportunity to attack them both, while also cutting down on the amount of time the killer spends searching for other survivors.
Edit:
Also i maybe some sort of dash ability would be cool, something like an cooldown ability that alows the Vampire to pass through pallets and such but give it a reasonable cool down time so its not abused. But also allowing the killer to shave off time by drinking blood of survivors
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
While I agree a vampire would be cool (and have my own vampire idea written up accordingly). This SPECIFIC vampire idea is literally just the wraiths power bust worse and with a cool down.
Wraiths power:
* Undetectable and invisible
* MS increase while power is active
* Cannot attack while using power
* Exiting power takes time
* After exiting power gain a speed boost for a second
This vampire power:
* Undetectable
* MS increase while power is active
* Cannot attack while using power
* Exiting power takes time
* Power has a cool down. Action can be taken to speed up the cooldown
That'd probably work out, but i'd like to see a Killer that brought something different rather than just a reskin of another killer

I had that error as killer aswell ! Was it the error 4 ? Actually remember now that you say it that i also had a survivor making noise over and over when it happened.
couldve been the same person, i wish i had reported them. But i just said /we and moved on

@DietDrBass said:

Toxic community is toxic.
Try a different killer, one that either has a one shot, or maybe someone like Legion who will make Survivors bleed out if they dont heal soon after a attack, or GHost Face who has stealth and they wont know he is there untill its too late
-
@sad_killer_main said:
I don't know why do you even question yourself things like that.
If they all are wasting time around the hook, you just take advantage of that and get free hits and downs.
I wonder what's the rank of all your "friends" (because I don't think a friend should want you dead IRL), because that's the typical play-style of low rank survivors. Gathering in group and literally suiciding.
Also, I never understood why survivors are always concerned about "camping" and "tunneling". If they killer does that, just gen rush and finish, not a big deal. Who complains about this, just shows their low skill at the game.
agreed, pluss some killers encourage you to tunnel, like Ghost Faces fugitive chase.
-
i only play Ghost Face atm, because Scream is my favorite horror movie. But when i get the points i want to get Legion, their bleeding effect after an attack seems fun

True, but then again looking back at it I don't think it stopped Pyramid Head 😅
But then again that could be the first killer that's revolved around echolocation. So maybe everything will be black in their POV but their surroundings will be highlighted and outlined in white, so it won't be impossible to track. Especially since sound is one of the major aspects in the game.
i dont really know if pyramid head can see or not. He may have small eye slits in the helmet, or just be able to see because not human just a manifestation of James's mind, so he doesnt have to play by human rules.
However in RE2 if you quit moving or didnt make noise lickers couldn't find you. Pyramid head would come at you regardless of what you did in SH2

Ahh I completely forgot about Licker from the RE series. The map part of it yeeeah... That'd probably be the case. Building up every map just to make it work for one killer. But I think some maps it could have advantages like Crotus Prenn Asylum or Temple of Purgation heck maybe even Midwich Elementary School. But I still see your point nonetheless.
lickers would be pretty tough because they are blind.

Body blocking can be good and bad for both sides depending on the situation. If all 3 are body blocking yes it sucks, but you throw the survivor down and get multiple free hits. I guarantee they stick around and try to pick him up. If only one or two people are body blocking, it is again free hits on survivors. I know sometimes though a survivor crouching in front of hook is hard to notice at first, but once it happens once you won't fall for it twice. Body blocking at the end of the game is what it is though. The killer should have done better before that point. Throughout the match though body blocking is only helping the killer get free pressure. Less gen pressure and free injures.
i get the strategy, its just immersion breaking. Ive never seen a horror movie where someone just stands there like an idiot staring off into space while the killer is getting ready to hack them up
-
Have you ever played Aluen Vs Predator? Most of those games let you play as a Xenomorph and it is fun af! I support this idea 100%

Admittedly, yes, vampires meet the human qualification. My concern is just how common they are in today’s entertainment culture.
Medusa would be fun, so good mention on that one! Human, horrifying, not overly available everywhere else. check, check, and check! I would absolutely support that one.
imho, they might be popular atm, but they are rarely done well. Usually over romanticized, but not in the right way and they are rarely all that scary. I think they could definitely come up with some devious looking designs for a vampire, or atleast something scarier than Edward Sparkles.
As far as medusa, id give her the lower body of a snake and the top half of a human and have the survivors hear a terrifying hiss when she is close.
Her powers would be hard to not make her op snd stay true to the lore. But im thinking sone the opposite of ghostface shroud. Like the longer uou look at her the slower youll move, not dramatically but enough to make you want avoid looking at her longer than a glancw, which her power could be that she can enhance that ability to make survivors slow down alot maybe up to 50% or just make it a aoe attack.
As for her normal attack, id say just give her claws or maybe a bow.
-
The only thing that really bugs me about survivor's is body blocking, its pretty immersion breaking. The hook campers are annoying too, but i think survivor's hate them just as much as killers lol

I can think of ways to make vampires fun, but we need to be careful with the slippery slope of heavily overused bad guys. First it’s a vampire, then a werewolf of course. But then the floodgates open. What’s to stop us from doing zombies? And heck, how about a dragon? And before you know, DBD has the same cast of characters as every other title out there.
I’m not saying it’s a bad idea. Obviously these creatures are highly popular for a reason. I’m just saying DBD needs to be careful to maintain its distinction.
In my opinion they made a mistake by using Demogorgon. Before that, all killer were essentially “human”. With Demo, we have our first “beast”. Now there no argument to prevent others from being introduced. Wolves, spiders, snakes, etc. Any of these could be made into a unique killer, but I believe this would dilute the DBD brand...
Id say a vampire is just as human as Freddy Kruger, both were human at one time but are now both something else.
As far as a dragon, thatd be just way to big and i know its not originally from DnD but one from the that fame is enough lol.
As far as snakes go... well A medusa like character would be pretty cool imo as well. Spiders would take a little more though to not be generic and im just not that big into Werewolves to come up with any good ideas for them.
But vampires have tons if different abilities depending on which lore youre drawing from, so i thought itd have lots of potential for diverse gameplay depending on which direction they went with it.

Yeah the debuff can probably work like 2 minutes or more with addons or can work like Plague so you can get rid of it by cleansing at a fountain. Though Plague gets advantage by survivor cleansing so idk. If we are choosing something like holy water then this debuff has to be strong or decent bc otherwise survivors are simply not gonna care about it and it'll work like thanatophobia . The killer should be able to bite the survivor after they get downed maybe cuz if it works after they are hooked it's probably not gonna slow down much.
i guess a perk idea would to slow the survivor down by 8% vanilla, perk1 would up to 12% slowdown, then 18% and finally all the way up to 20%/25%.
I guess a cross placed on the map would work but some people might not like the religious imagery, so either a holy water pickup or a pool of blessed water would work to remove debuff.
Or the loss of blood could make them more clumsy, either increasing the rate of generator qte's, increase the speed of qte's or make the success zone smaller.
edit: i would even increase the length of the debuff to a somewhat obnoxious length of time to try to push the survivor to seek out a cure for the debuff.
-
@knee_ah said:
Such a good Idea!!! I think maybe the vampire can turn into a crow and the crow is screaming ,making noise (not so loud) like normal crows when aproaching so survivors can sometimes tell if he is coming like Pig has her loud breathing, Ghostface his footsteps or jacket sounds . And for second ability after drinking blood maybe the survivors should get slowed down when doing gens,healing etc. and maybe even be oblivious for a few seconds-minutes ( that could be an addon) We can say that the survivors feel dazed ? (Maybe a new effect like Oblivious status effect, endurance or something from BT)
i like that a d long lasting debuff would be nice, there'd need to be something on the map to remove the debuff though to balance it out, maybe holy water or a cross.
And yeah while crow transformation isnt traditionally a vampire abililty, i thought itd better fit the game snd would stick out less than bats

I think a vampire would be cool but Ghostface kind of has a lot of vampire-like attributes.
Similarly, I think a werewolf killer would be cool. Or maybe a mage with some sort of magic based ability.
I’d also like to see some sort of archer with projectiles similar to huntress.
I’m neither creative nor motivated enough to think of any perks though.
i guess if they wanted something drastically different from Ghostface, then instead of transforming and being undetectable, the vampire could have the ability to mesmerize a survivor, which would make the survivor run towards the nearest survivor thus revealing the location of another.
Although i still like the idea of being able to drink blood from downed survivors to speed up their power recharge time
-
I want to see a Vampire, we already have slashers, demons, undead, ghosts, and other monsters, but no Vampires yet. I think that'd be cool

1) They made a bad play
2) Balanced Landing
3) There are some windows, like at the Thompson House, that aren't horrible to vault through because the survivors' slowdown on landing is balanced out by the killer's slowdown on vaulting.
No i get the vaulting, that gives the survivors a big advantage of the Killer. I would agree on a bad play, but ive seen it happen again and again, Sometimes theyll even just wait for me to chase them up the hill (idr the map name) and then jump off, but it doesnt slow me down at all like having to vault does.
Edit: ahh i looked up what balanced landing does, makes sense. But apparently it doesnt work very well, maybe it works better against slower killers
-
I was booted from a game as a killer once, the cheat detection said i had modified files or something stupid like that. I only had the game a few weeks and hadnt even bothered to look at the files in Steam_apps, so i know it was bs. On top of that there was a survivor that was able to fail a gen qte, at an interval of 0.5 seconds repeatedly, making a cacophony of explosion noises, that player was also noticeably faster than the other and when i did manage to hook one of the survivors is when i was immediately booted.
