A LOT of survivors like to throw around the word tunneling.

Just had two games where I wanted to get enduring+spirit fury to work. Spoiler: SF did not activate even once, and overall I was stunned a sole single time, although I tried to eat the stun at every pallet! It's definitely not just with lunging, I did not even swing but still was not stunned even when so near that you usually got stunned before the update. The survs where def. not throwing early either.
Guess pallets are just messed up in general. Coincidence it happened when they introduced a new pallet stun perk?
-
Yeah dude we get it you don't like Dead Hard, no need to make a thread every month.
-
The new pallet stun bug might have something to do with it.
-
I think it would be nice if it got 2 uses, to punish the actual tunneling players more now. One DS isn't enough if the killer really has it out for someone.

No, It would promote unfun gameplay and would buff already strong killers. People would not like hiding around for 2 minutes or look around doing nothing for two minutes. It is already a very powerful perk. It is also not the right solution to fixing the generators going too fast problem either, this is pretty much just another band-aid fix to the game.
Well like I said it could be reduced to a minute or something. So 3 survivors don't spawn on a gen each and get popping. It's a better solution than increasing how long a gen takes to be repaired.

If the killer is running Lightborn, they are immune to all the effects of being blinded by any means.
You still get the "killer blinded" score event, though.
Yeah, they weren't using that though.

Yes because unlike the other exhaustion perks, it's unconditional. Lithe requires a window, Balanced requires a falling spot, and Sprint Burst needs to be saved by walking around slowly or 99ing it. Plus, none of those give i-frames and Dead Hard does. That's why I call it OP and a third health state. It's also dependent on connection. Some people try to argue against DH being strong by saying "But 99.9% of the time, it leaves me exhausted on the ground." But that's not Dead Hard's fault. It's the game's for having bad servers, or it's yours for waiting too long to use it. Assuming there is a stable connection to the server, meaning you can react just in time to use Dead Hard to avoid the killer's swing, it's absolutely busted. 1 person having Dead Hard is one thing. If 3 or 4 have it, your chances of winning as killer drastically go down. It's been the best exhaustion perk since it was put in the game, and that's why all the best survivors use it.
Dead Hard requires you to be injured unlike the others and you don't get much distance as the others.

In the hands of a good killer it's going to be a hatch game. It hard carries on its own
Are you kidding me?
No. Go watch top tier killers play with it and see how many times the exit gates get opened. Aren't you the guy who cries about dead hard being OP in every thread anyway? Yeah I'm gonna just ignore whatever you have to say lmao.

"I play killer just as much, clearly you only play killer."
Where do people come up with lines like this? I played about 12 games of Dead By Daylight last night and every single one of them was Survivor. Jumping to conclusions must burn a lot of calories.
"This is the same trash argument I hear about every single Killer perk survivors don't like" yeah I wonder why I called you a killer main, mystery...

Yes, yes, yes. This is the same trash argument I hear about every single Killer perk survivors don't like. I could take almost every argument you've made about Tinkerer and replace it with "NOED" and the threads would read the same.
I play killer just as much, clearly you only play killer. You're saying that's a trash argument yet now you are bringing up NOED vs Tinkerer hahaha. NOED can be cleansed and isn't active until the end of the game, little bit different isn't it? Go talk nonsense somewhere else.

You cannot say "You don't need perk Y because perk X exists".
This thread, if nothing else, illustrates how there are like 10 Killer perks worth anything and the rest are garbage. Tinkerer only seems god tier because there's such an ocean of unusable trash perks.
I said what perk would help with that early game problem. A killer is just chasing the first guy too long if 3 gens pop.
Both sides have unusable trash perks.
Tinkerer is just overtuned and in the right hands the exit gates are not getting powered.
Most of the top streamers who 4K every game and gloat about it have this perk because it carries them.

In a game where I can lose 3 generators in 2 minutes, this perk is a required part of the game's health right now.
The only time that ever happens is at the start of a game where you chase one person for too long and the other 3 are on a generator each. Corrupt Intervention is a fair perk what stops that or adjust how you play early game.

Depends what aspect its being used. For notification of near gen completion yes although some killers can utilise that better than others (Freddy is amazing with tinkerer because he can teleport to gens). With regards to stealth, I would say louder killers aren't so useful, demogorgan is sooooo loud that even with undectable (that he gets when portals are being destroyed) its near enough pointless because anyone with a headset will hear his thudded footsteps and growls. I think again its a case of it being in the right hands; I find it amazing on clown. But again its experience and skill; should I pressure the gen that went off even though I'm average mobility? Or find someone else to chase with no TR?
One thing I will say, I get amazing satisfaction gen grabbing someone with clown. And the amount of jump scares is fun. That habing been said, i still feel its not just how I use it as clown it also depends on the survivors awareness as well. A combination of the two. And the first time you get tinkerer is key because smart survivors clock it after the first time.
Do you use it as killer or have you gone against it as survivor?
I always use it as killer if I want to make sure I win. I think the stealth part of the perk is fine honestly. The constant flow of a gen nearing completion feels a bit cheap. It punishes survivors for doing well to get a gen that far and rewards me for not looking after them. I can do whatever I want until Tinkerer goes off. As a survivor you don't come across it much but when you do it usually ends the same way.

I used it and found two survivors on the gen and hit one of them and the other just popped it in my face
Early game sure that might happen. This perk hard carries in the end game.

Powerful in the right hands, comes in clutch at times but i wouldn't say its OP.
Its useful on some killers, relatively pointless on others so to say its the best killer perk is just not correct.
I use it on some killers and sometimes yes I'll get a suprise hit that the survivor could do nothing/very little about. Most times though I find its a lack of awareness on the survivors part that makes tinkerer so successful when it is; I use it on Clown and they get so used to the 32m TR they don't even look behind them on a Gen. I even had someone message me saying the lack of red light caught them off.
Its a powerful perk in the right hands. Against top survivors it has limited use. I think its fine as is
It's good on every killer. Like I said the issue isn't the stealth it's when there's 3/4 gens left on a map. Top tier Pig mains use it for a reason. Against top survivors maybe because they co-ordinate getting 2 gens to 70% at the same time, which is still asking a lot. A bunch of solo players are done for.
-
@Shaped said:
I think it is fine. Sure you can get value out of it but it is just undetectable and gen info. We already have stealth killers and they are not op just for being stealthy even if they are running surveillance or discordance.
Stealth is not the issue. The gen info and survivor location towards the end of the game is. Stealth killers use this perk too.
-
Tinkerer.

Nah

You get messages sent to you by Killers on the Playstation Network saying to off yourself for running DS and Unbreakable?
I'm pressing X right now.
No but I've had ######### you guys, tryhard blah blah just for what perks I'm using. Like hmm I wonder why DS UB are meta? Yeah what a mystery...
-
I get plenty of abuse for using DS and unbreakable. Soooooo......

I do not exactly feel good about it but...
If I go on the hook after running the Killer for 3 minutes and people are messing around with chests, self-caring in the corner or what have you, I am out. No sense in wasting my time when the rest of the team doesn't care either.
Someone said it perfectly in a previous post: There needs to be incentive to stay in the games, not more punishments.
That wasn't what happened though. They were the first to be chased and go down before any gens could be finished. Literally within the first 2 minutes of the games.
-
Apples and oranges.

But my mettle of man stacks...

No, gen wouldve maybe regressed but i would lose the yui from a pick up and the other gen wouldve been done anyway. I rather have 1 hook and get my read on where the otehr survivors were.
I'd prioritize a gen over a hook but you do you. Slugging is one of Oni's strengths.

Its the instant replay screen that hides it, no it used corrupt, pop, bbq and tinkerer. I replaced corrupt by ruin cause of a rift challenge thats all
Fair enough, you shouldn't of picked up the Yui when Tinkerer went off and you still had your power to get to the gen. Other than that it looked like 2 on a gen screwed you over.
-
Use Discordance or Corrupt Intervention then instead of one of the perks you've decided to hide, what were they noed or something lol

Yeah this is the kind of person that doesn't think DH is op, runs all second chance perks and runs into a total dead zone to use DS rather than trying to run towards a pallet
You're the type of killer who can't deal with a small dash what doesn't even work as intended. At that point I wanted to die for hatch anyway but sure dude keep making braindead comments.
-
@JPA said:
You got cucked by the current de-sync issues, this video doesn't really provide any evidence that Dead Hard is bad or good based on the current issues present in the game, which will be fixed.
You were going down there anyway, even if you hit your DH, you would have got another 5m max, you weren't looking ahead of yourself, so this wasn't even a good use of DH for distance, as you had no idea where you were going.
I know I was going down regardless, was letting my teammate look for hatch. I use Lithe normally but after seeing all the DH threads I thought I'd try it out. It's a good example of the current state of the game.

That's fair, Undying was a bad example.
But how about NOED? Or Ruin? Or Devour Hope? Small Game counters those perks. "No excuse to moan about those if you don't use anything to counter it."
The argument is still dumb.
Well I'd say if you aren't running small game or detective's hunch you can't really complain about those either, just my opinion.
-
Funny but it's kinda sad that's the best that the animators could do...

I mean I'm iffy on the whole Dead Hard thing, I hate Sprint Burst way more (I don't think Sprint Burst needs nerfed I think it's just an infuriating perk) but the "oh I bet you aren't willing to use insert perk here" argument is dumb. That exact same argument was used for Undying (which needed a nerf, don't get me wrong), and dis-credited most of the time.
"Oh, you'd have an easy time with it if you used Small Game, but I bet you aren't willing to use that perk huh?"
Using small game wouldn't help much with undying that's why lmao still have to run around getting 5 totems whilst dodging killer, losing survivors and not doing gens. Where as Mindbreaker helps with all exhaustion perks with no effort, no excuse to moan about them if you don't use anything to counter it.
-
@Leachy_Jr said:
You do realise people are complaining about dead hard because it's unfair right?
Sorry you think that "E to undo mistake" is fine for the game.
Other exhaustion perks while annoying do not come even close to how unfair and frustrating dead hard is to verse.
This dude acts like dead hard reverses time instead of being a one time use small dash when injured lmao. "Dead hard when used for distance has no counter" oh but i bet you aren't willing to use something like mindbreaker are ya?
-
@MigrantTheGreat said:
I would say 2 - 2.5 seconds. It'll make the perk more skill based or force the perk to be used as intended.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1956670#Comment_1956670
This ^! This is the mindset of someone who doesn't want to use skill, or their brain to outplay the killer.
I don't even use dead hard because of its inconsistency but nice try, maybe try to use your brain before you comment.
-
It's the most satisfying thing in the game.
-
That would punish the players doing gens and having chases doing a good job and potentially reward the worst player who gets out with hatch.
-
I'm sure the devs will see this and get right on it.
-
You lost me at long story short because you typed an essay after lmao
-
You thought that was a good idea? It would make the perk absolutely useless. Some of you killer mains are hilarious.
-
Killers keep moaning about this, if it got nerfed you'd regret it when everyone's running sprint burst lmao
-
I played a team like that, they didn't even try to do gens I got stunned a lot with the lockers the same way but got them in the end and gave the last one hatch. They said gg and I did the same, it was fun. That type of gameplay is only as toxic as you make it out to be.

Yes thats exactly why I chose this username because I get looped for hours 🙄
How about instead of telling me to git gud, you git gud? and the survivors? I did git gud, I mindgame the survivors so bad they need a literal UNDO button in the game, they need a second chance....but of course its the killers that need to git gud right?
Well I play killer and don't whine about Dead Hard like you so yes, git gud.

Oh yeah good point I forgot that every killer in the game plays Nurse. Problem solved.
I was addressing what OP said about it hard countering Nurse. Other killers don't get countered as hard by it. You're the guy who conplains about DH being used for distance and you get looped so much you have that as your username...maybe just...git gud? Like most of the other killers who think it's fine.
-
It helps against nurse, one of the strongest killers in the game...how is that an issue? She's just gonna blink again and get them next time.
