As the title is asking. Has anyone talked or heard anything from the devs about the flood of complaints?
you must have found your way into the wrong forum. Devs on this game don't comment on anything unless it makes them money!

Dude is this for real?
If it is, you were screwed by matchmaking. This was clearly an experienced SWF bully squad who had a field day with you. What they did is actually a banable offense, so good on you to have video evidence since without customer provided videos the DEVs can´t take action against any kind of offense.
Without wanting to sound condescending, but you have a long way to go friend. Kudos to you for not DCing, hope you get more appropriate matches in the future. Btw, strongly advice you to check out some guides about loops/chasing etc. You whiff a hell of a lot.
Still got that nagging suspicion though that this might be a staged incident.
i was gonna suggest he change his gamer tag to Mr whiff.

This is only if you have tinkerer. Not everybody runs that. I haven't even touched hillbillys blood web yet cause I don't play him. Even then this is not really a second chance it's just information. If I'm across the map or in chase I'm not getting there in time.
that is just it the massive amount of information given to killers is the second chance. lose some one in a chase no worries I will have information to find another really easy.

First of all, you as a killer also do many mistake all the time (for example bad movement, wrong prediction etc), but those mistakes dont result into anything "dirctly" most of the time. If a survivor does a mistake, he is dead or gets hit - if a killer does a mistake, the chase goes on for another 10 seconds or so.
If you are in a chase and it takes you longer then 12-15 seconds to get anything (like a down, a hit or pallet) you did a mistake. Do you find yourself in those situations? If you are honest, you have to say 'Yes'. Do you count those siutations as a mistake? Probably not.
So, to relativate those mistakes you do in chase (those you most likely not even realise they are mistakes), Devs gave the killer Entity blocker and Bloodlust. Those are already your second chances by default.
On top of that, you have tons of 2nd chance perks. Lets talk about some of them:
- Ruin
- Undying
- POP
- Corrupt
- Bamboozle
- Spirit Fury
- Enduring
- NOED
- Play with your food
- Safe the best for last
- Haunted Grounds
- Thantophobia
- Brutal Strenght
- Surge
- Devour Hope
And MANY more!
Killer need to realise that they also do mistakes, but the EFFECT of a mistake is not as dramatic like for survivors.
Kind regards
technically you could call any aura perk killers have a second chance perk, instead of having to go seek out some one they instantly know where to go/direction.

I have no problem killing myself on hook I just wish we could prevent others from saving us while hooked. god knows I just want out of the match. I dont want to reward some killer an extra hook because they decided to play a killer that is miserable and not even remotely fun to go against.

It seems that the most popular cause for a DC is to avoid de-pipping. You can clearly see when someone DC because they are not having a good game.
So having de-pip as a punishment would hopefully prevent that. As the player would ideally try to play on an earn enough to black pip.
Possible counter-arguments in advance...
1. "I shouldn't be punished when I DC because I dont like the killer/map" - yes, you should be punished. This game isn't just about you.
2. "I shouldn't be punished because my internet cuts out" - ok, this would be unfortunate. However, it shouldn't be that common that it really makes much difference to your rank anyway. If your internet cuts out all the time... well, that's just something you need to learn to deal with and you probably have bigger things to worry about than de-pipping.
so you want to reward people with easier matches for DCing?

DS is a garbage perk that, when combined with either someone else having BT or UB, encourages someone who was just unhooked to facehug the killer and force a lose/lose - either the killer attacks you and pays for it, or he doesn't and your friend gets away.
Anti-Tunneling perks should not help you if you decide to throw yourself on my knife. That's just bad gameplay.
If they can come up with a solution for DS that makes it a reliable anti-tunneling perk without encouraging you to hump my leg for 20-60 seconds and make an ######### out of yourself while I'm trying to respect DS and its combos, I'd welcome that.
Maybe it's just as simple as while under the effects of BT, you have no hitbox so you can't body block. That's all the "DS nerf" I need. As for DS/UB combo *at least* I get to down you and make you waste some time too.
yet here we have an actual scoring event to do just that with protection hits...... sorry the gameplay suggest other wise that it is intended for survivors to do just that.

anything on this spreadsheet in this thread with a numerical value greater then 20 uses should be nerfed. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/194632/the-latest-survivor-meta-snapshot-with-excel-data#latest

best way to handle it is do away with hooks make it when survivors get downed after 10 seconds of being downed( this is to still allow the use of Moris) they turn into a ghost and have to go to other survivors to recover from the spirit state, in spirit form they can only walk not run, make it in the spirit state they cant do anything to progress the game but survivors see the auras of spirits only when said spirit is within twenty meters of them. make it so you enter spirit state twice and third time you just die and your out of the game. this pushes the time burden onto the survivors freeing time for killers to pressure. it ends the need for perks like DS and unbreakable as the killer can't see the ghost and ghost can't see the killer and it also ends unfun things like slugging. could also add in the ability for the killer to see the aura of any survivor healing a spirit. this would also make it so ghost will want to run to the farthest survivor aura so they can recover safely. this is the one system Gold express did absolutely right. it resolve the need for perks like DS its not anti momentum and frees up more time for killers to pressure the map. and a much better system to actually balance the game play. no more need for what both sides consider toxic aspects of the game. the down side it would totally need a rework of most the perks in the game and items like flashlight would have zero purpose.

THEN YOU KEEP WAITING LIKE A BIG BOY
Check your phone! Jerk off! Do something! But don't screw the other players out of whatever they're trying to accomplish for whatever reason.
This literally happened to me yesterday as a survivor, but I ######### waited there even though I just wanted to quit and got nothing out of staying since my own tome challenge was busted now. I waited because the damn game wasn't over and that wouldn't be fair to the killer, despite how godawful boring and campy a Doctor that killer was too.
Hell, sometimes the killer HAS to slug the penultimate girl. Not everyone has finished with the Tomes yet, and there are a lot of killer ones that are honestly a real ######### to get done.
It's not the killers fault that that the hatch exists. Now that hatch shows up despite zero gen progress, so there's even more random chance involved than entirely GitGud enough to ever guarantee Devout. Maybe they'd still have the 10 hooks for that Irr if you DIDN'T disconnect and it wouldn't matter if they went free. It's hard enough when sometimes that 1st hook ends up the final hook sometimes too and the survivors might go for a late save even if you're on the other side of the map. There's just so much ######### that can happen.
For all you know the killer normally would giving the other person the hatch, but they just NEED you to be patient for a few minutes and die with integrity instead of forcing them (and another team) to go through all this again, and again. This, like many things in DBD, tend to be cyclical and it'll only "pay it forward" to the next group. Lets just hope that the next "penultimate girl" is more mature, or yet another group is up to bite the dust.
good for you my times worth more then that. maybe in that instance the killer should just be just as respectful and hook said survivor and not waste their time?
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
This is the one thing I never understood the complaints about.
The most common complaint i hear is that it's boring. But what difference is there between hanging on a hook and lying on the ground? Except that when being hooked your one step closer to be out of the game.
It's a great way for killers to apply pressure to survivors and unlike tunneling doesn't end the game of one of the survivors in a couple of minutes.
To my experience matches against slugging killers tend to last decently long with everybody having a chance to interact with the killer.
So why is his hated again?
if this is honestly a honest question i will give you an honest answer. slugging is basically the same thing that happens to killers when survivors bring DS. the survivors get unhooked then sit there doing there goal unabashed right in your face for 60 whole seconds. but only with slugging it last 240 seconds...... and its part of your base kit and it's not fun to witness. infact i feel unbreakable should be part of the base kit of survivors. of course the recovery time should be increased to double what it currently is. but should have unlimited uses i mean worst case would be 4 uses in a match if they was to focus on slugging and only slugging. or heck maybe an idea i see killers mention about ds changes maybe make it so when you touch a gen or try to unhook some one your ds deactivates... we could do that but make it so when a killer hits another survivor or kicks a gen a slugged survivor will just stand up.

No, it is not. If you want to be respectful, remember that the other Survivor isn't the only other PLAYER in the game. If you are truly want to be respectful you can go out and enter into a chase with the Killer, get yourself downed and hooked. That would ALSO result in the other Player having a shot at the hatch. Do you see my point?
Your idea of respect ignores an entire Player that you are seeking to cheat.
except if you do that, you end up being slugged for 5 mins while the killer runs off to find the last victim.

Yep, I am having a blast playing the most toxic killer I can be!!

Object is bad enough on an SWF group, but if you get multiple people with this sodding perk (as I've experienced today) - it completely and utterly negates most of my favorite killers.
Also - is there a way for survivors to see what killer you are in lobby? I recall there being an old trick, but...wow. Every time I try Ghostface or Wraith, there are 2-3 people running this and I have an impossible game.
Anyway - rant over.
for once I agree lets remove all perks and effects that give away to much information, and hurts being stealthy players so we can get rid of Spine chill, OoO,BBq&chilli Undying and we can remove killer instinct from base kits etc lets do it bring back the stealth game. after that lets nerf all aura based add ons and so on for both sides....... with as many aura crutch type perks around killers to let them know exactly where survivors are at you want to get rid of the one decent detection perk survivors have. it don't even give them an aura of where the killer is it its just hey the killer is looking in your direction.
-
Leatherface and don't let it off the hook. Funny thing was one person I caught and face camped then tunneled and moried, said he was going to report me for camping. then when I laughed he claimed his brother made the game and that I should take him seriously.......
-
If the game was actually a team of 4 vs 1 the survivor teams scoring would be connected it isn't, the fact that it is individual scoring makes it so the game is 1 vs 3 vs 1 so with that in mind. yes 1vs1 needs to be where the survivor has just as much chance to win in chases as the killers do. either that is the case or they need to rework the scoring side on the survivors so its a team score not individual score.

Ruin really only gives you good value if you know how to apply pressure though. So I don't quite get the argument that its only for killers that don't know how to pressure gens. Sounds like just a salty comment of someone who got beaten by killers with that combo.
I do think Undying should have a limit of 2 times to its hex perk transferral, so survivors don't have to cleanse ruin 4 times if they get unlucky and don't find Undying. But other wise I am just happy we have another meta build in the game. More meta perks are always welcome.
unless them Meta perks are for survivors eh?

This isn't correct. The LEAVE MATCH function is there for emergencies - not for when people get downed instantly, or don't want to play against a certain killer or against a certain survivor perk.
DC'ing is spoiling the game for the other players in the match who do want to play. And I do definitely suggest that if you are unable to play a match, don't even go into a lobby!
then it shouldn't be within the games menus during match play. there is ways to get out of a game in an emergency if it should arise. good ole CTRL ALT Del so obviously I would have to say since its within the games menus during match play its viable. people will use that for that very function if its available.

Well, I paid for the game and I'm not enjoying it because of people who DC. Also, fun fact: you do not have the right to do whatever you want. It's in the EULA you didn't read.
The behavior you're defending is the same as going to a hotel, taking a ######### in their pool, and when they try to kick you out because you're disrupting every other customer you complain that you paid them money, so you're free to do whatever. You are not free to disrupt their business, no matter how much money you paid.
I said the person has the right to play as they want to play. if they want to load in run to the killer and die every match its there dang right to do just that. if they want to hit esc and click leave match they have the right to do that as the leave match function is within the game. the game is a whole the match is just part of it. who cares if you are enjoying the game no one in this game cares about other peoples enjoyment that is clear enough. so deal with it and stop crying. I guess you could take your own advice if you don't like it " If you don't enjoy the game, then stop playing it"

The grind is hard enough as it is man. Imagine being new and grinding killer for bps only to figure out that the grind for perks is already hard enough as it is but then ds cuts a bit of the bloodpoints you worked for.
this is the only kind of penalty that would make killers fear tunneling some one.

@AhoyWolf said:
We all know that Decisive Strike is one of the most abuseable perks in the game, so I'm here to make it a true anti-tunnel perk.
Decisive Strike
Nerfs:
- Unhooking yourself no longer activates Decisive Strike.
- Slightly reduced the Skill Check size.
- Reduced the duration of Decisive Strike to 30 seconds from 40/50/60 seconds.
- Recovering from the Dying State while Decisive Strike is active deactivates Decisive Strike.
Buffs:
- Decisive Strike goes 3x slower while in a chase or while in the Dying State.
- Decisive Strike can now be used multiple times.
- Decisive Strike no longer creates an Obsession at the start of the Trial.
- Increased the stun duration to 5/6/7 seconds from 5 seconds.
Unhooking yourself no longer activates Decisive Strike.
Reason for this change is to remove some synergy between other second chance perks.
Slightly reduced the Skill Check size.
Since with this change Decisive Strike can be used multiple times, slightly reducing the Skill Check size and making it a bit harder doesn't sound like a bad idea.
Reduced the duration of Decisive Strike to 30 seconds from 40/50/60 seconds.
If not being tunneled there is no reason for Decisive Strike to last a whole minute.
Recovering from the Dying State while Decisive Strike is active deactivates Decisive Strike.
This change is done to remove synergy with some second chance perks, like Unbreakable, just to be clear, if your teammate picks you up from the Dying State it deactivates Decisive Strike aswell.
Decisive Strike goes 3x slower while in a chase or while in the Dying State.
If you're being tunneled, Decisive Strike goes 3x slower to give you some time and to waste some of the Killer's time, so if you're being tunneled right of the hook, the Decisive Strike will most likely last for 90 seconds.
Decisive Strike can now be used multiple times.
You can be tunneled after every hook, so to be true anti-tunneling perk this will prevent the Killer to tunnel you again.
Decisive Strike no longer creates an Obsession at the start of the Trial.
Very simple reason for this change, when there is no Obsession in the Trial, the Killer will most likely tunnel, also just to be clear, you will become the Obsession after using Decisive Strike.
Increased the stun duration to 5/6/7 seconds from 5 seconds.
To give Survivors more time to escape when being tunneled to death and to punish tunneling Killers.
lets make it so instead of getting off the killers shoulder by landing it you remove 50% of the killers earned bps during that match at that time?

It's on people who DC, full stop. If you don't enjoy the game, then stop playing it instead of queuing up just to DC and ruin everyone else's trial.
see that is where you're wrong. you can enjoy a game, and you can also dislike annoying aspects of it, if you can avoid them annoying aspects then by all means the game is ment to be played the way said person wants to play it. if you do not like that well then id suggest you take it up with behavior as they just keep adding more and more annoying aspects to the game that just kills more and more of the enjoyable aspects of the game. making more and more people just dc or suicide on hook to get to the next match in hopes of getting into a match that is more enjoyable. nothing wrong with that they spent there money to play a game and they are allowed to play it in the manner they desire to. albeit if the game was free to play then id agree with you 100% but the fact they had to buy the game to play it they have every right to do as they want to enjoy the game they bought.

The new small PP build: Undying + Ruin can be countered just by bringing a Map, Bringing Small Game or Detective's Hunch. What can I do to counter the Survivor's small pp then? This is what my original point is, at least as Killers give us the means to counter the DS + Unbreakable combo.
dude a counter to unbreakable is to just pick them up! a counter to ds is to slug them. easily countered. you dont even have to bring in a perk to counter it like survivors have to.

I am aiming for the highest bp i can get because i am farming bp for blight with him so my goal is to hook all 4 and get a 30k game. I am not camping and i don't want to camp or care about pips since lower rank = more bp for me.
Survivors are literally just standing there pointing at a hook and just swarming for points or dc.
my swf group i typically play with we got three killers and two maps that if they show up the match instantly turns into a race to die match for us as that is more fun trying to be the first to die then it is to try and stay alive and escape. and we sandbag each other just to try to be the first dead. how ever if last alive gets the hatch they win ultimately. unfun killers to my group are the ones that don't allow us to have chases or just break mechanics that prevent interesting chases. as we all enjoy the chase aspect of the game not the generator repairs.

i know many who feel the untouchable totem makes it just as unplayable. what is worse is they could literally turn off that map on the live servers to resolve that issue till it gets fixed but they wont take it out of the rotation.

This is a literal game breaking bug. It can lose killers the match purely by how inconveniant it is wasting time dropping and attempting to hook.

And we better not see a cosmetic release before this fix (doesn't matter if the departments/teams are different, something that draws in money should not supercede game life/health.
FIX IT.
same should go with the unclensable totem on badham map eh?

yea solo Queing as survivors is such a nightmare in balance because there is no balance the killer sides just gotten way to strong. so i have opted to quit playing survivor and I am strictly playing killer and i plan to play the most scummy possible killer I can be I will camp tunnel and destroy your fun as much as possible. with the entire goal being to drive away players from the game. lets fire up the campfire and make some smores!
-
it don't let them know your coming it just lets them know your facing in the direction they are in. most cases survivors hear the heart beat before spine chill even triggers. the action speed increase isn't noticeable in vaults i mean if they run that with resilience then you might notice it but only if your really paying ultra close attention. and honestly i cant recall ever seeing a killer main streamer say oh hes using spine chill & resilience just on vault speeds alone. i mean 6% of two seconds isn't to noticeable. this is the only perk that counters stealth killers it is a needed perk just as aura perks are needed for killers as well. but sadly we only know when your looking in our direction.

Hex:Blood Favour is a unique and interesting perk introduced to DBD with the Blight. Its ability is to block Survivors from throwing pallets once their hit in a very measly range of 16 metres and has a very long cooldown.
The reason i may like this perk to be not a hex, is because , this perk is like Bamboozle level of support. It only works if you have the proper time and place. Half the time the perk doesnt work because there might be a pallet right next to the blocked one or perhaps as stated its cooldown is too long.
Behaviour ,. Thank you for helping us and hope you are fine but may you please look into this perk's statistics soon? This perk isnt even powerful to begin with and theres no reason for it to be a Hex.
as some one who plays far more survivor then killer I agree this should not be a hex perk. i also play 95% of the time as a solo Que survivor.

It's because they assume that it means survivors just want the killer to be straight up nerfed with no compensation. They likely feel this way after seeing Billy and Nurse being nerfed this way. Anways I would hope this isn't what survivors actually want though. Take Deathslinger for example. He has terrible map pressure. Sure he's great at 1v1 chases, but he really lacks map pressure. Personally I'm all for giving him more counterplay as long as survivors are cool with compensating him in some other way. Idk what Bhvr would do exactly but he needs better map pressure.
see i didn't want to see billy or the nurse nerfed my fav killer to go against was prenerf nurse, now its spirit.

You clearly didn't read my post based on your response, so you clearly don't care about an actual discussion.
No i read your post fully and understand what you're saying. I agree they need to do something to help make the totems last a little longer for killers. i have always been for the time it takes to cleanse all totems to be increased a little bit. but to sit here claim I am wanting to ignore a secondary objective as a survivor when you yourself clearly state survivors are doing that very objective obscenely fast, we are not that far apart. the only thing we are apart on is the fact that you want it so killers can ignore that very same secondary objective. I mean I am a survivor main i cant stand playing killer but have played a lot of hours as both and I am for fixing the issue by not making it tied to a second perk and your crying that I need to just run this or that or this other thing. obviously people are doing these things already. so either get on the same dang page and work with us so we can get it done right and not just jump on the us vs them bandwagon. undying needs to be changed. this is not the totem fix needed.

Well your paying 2 perk slots and if the undying itself gets cleansed it doenst matter much. Theres only 5 totems and 4 survivors, so it shouldnt take that long if its really something big. Also if protecting your "strong perk" makes you lose the game, then its not that strong.
Totems needed a change for a loooooooooong time, instead of a base change we got a perk so its meh. Totems get cleansed extremely fast on the norm, its been a big problem for ages. You don't know what you're talking about or you need to git gud. Or again, just equip small game -_-
Its not supposed to be a secondary objective for the killer only, its for the survivors too. You;re the one wanitng to ignore it. You still need to protect undying, you'll still need to protect the new totem spawn. Again, against 4 survivors? not happening. Hell against 2-3 survivors not happening unless you want to throw the game.
Wanting to nerf a perk on killer because its somewhat usable, what a novel concept. I'm done here, hopefully this topic sinks. Make a poll if you really care that much.
you claim your totems are cleansed within 30 seconds its obvious that survivors are not ignoring the secondary objective.thanks for proving that point for me... but good to see you support being able to ignore a secondary objective if it totally benefits you! Hypocrite much?

Okay... but you have loads of options as survivors. Here's a list
Bring a map, small game or detectives hunch to find totems easier
Bring distortion to avoid being spotted by the aura reading
Wait until the killer is busy doing something else so he won't have enough time to see the aura
This perk is kind of crucial for killers who run hex perks, the amount of times I would run ruin only for a survivor to cleanse it in the first 30 seconds because they either spawned right next to it or it was out in the open was ridiculous.
see but that was why the perk was so strong to begin with there was high risk high reward. now its basically low risk high reward and you can literally ignore your secondary objective of protecting that great power.

They also have to sacrifice 2 perks slots for it.
You're wrong. Stop running DS, and run detectives hunch. Actually do something to counter it instead of whining for nerfs.
wait so your saying being able to ignore a secondary objective is fine if its for the killer, but not fine if your a survivor. Hypocrite much?

You're not going to be able to protect your totem from 4 survivors, and if you try they just do gens.
If its really that big an issue to you, small game says hello.
The perk is fine.
oh you don't say if you protect your totems they do gens wow what a novel concept that's the price you pay for such a strong perk. you can choose to protect the thing that benefits you most and its completely your choice. adding undying has altered that so you can just ignore that secondary objective.
