distressing is better on spirit, remember if theyre outside you terror radius they hear you coming, if theyre in it then they dont so you will get more grabs and slow down the game as people will be more scared providing you apply pressure. having said that there are much better perks (Stridor, nurses, ruin, pop, corrupt, sloppy, tremors, bbq etc.)
-
4 years,
better ranking system. there shouldnt be red ranks that cant lead chases, dont know loops and dont touch gens.
Balance swf, insanely strong especially a full group of good players.
Performance improvements
-
if my 4 years have taught me anything its this "expect a draw with high rank swf at best" game is and never will be designed for it, too many factors will hurt you from the killer, map, tile RNG and perks the survivors are running. sadly it does put me off playing killer as much, but in the survey i always say i play more survivor but prefer killer. simple as that, it sucks to play killer at times (not to mention im waiting bloody ages just for a damn lobby... yawn)
-
Killer sucks, you need to run strong meta perks and hope you get a decent map and a non efficient team. swf just makes everything so much harder, honestly the games balance relies on the red rank players that cant do chases and dont work on gens effectively. but a good build and game knowledge will help you alot, but do know that even people like me (rank 1 for nearly 4years) have games where no matter what i could do i dont have much of a chance. (this is usually down to swf or a broken as map) just gotta hope there are some weak links in the match tbh lol.

Edited due to forum issues still.

This has been an issue for ages, you all just restart you game and itll fix it. i feel its something to do with certain players dying early and spectating and it some reason keep thinking the players are separated when they arent. here was me thinking we actually had a balance to swf comms

Here's what the wiki has to say (you basically hit the nail on the head lol):
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/G9DMIYI6ES94/image.png
It's worth noting the Time Played in Trial value caps out at 600xp.
Well look at that after 4 years i nearly remembered something lol. knowing the values though just makes the rift a grind, knowing without the daily exp youll need 12-13 games for a fragment, how heart breaking haha
-
OFF. rather not deal with even worse frames and latency. plus PC has more advantages and iv seen a few hackers already so theres no positive to having it on at all tbh.
-
yeah his camera is way too low, you can legit walk in some grass patches and just get a black screen due to being so low down the actual grass hasnt separated yet. worst thing about the killer and puts me off playing him, another weird thing is POV gets higher when hes carrying a survivor, make that height base.
-
about 600 xp for a 10min game, you also get bonus for first survivor and first killer game of the day. i think medals slightly increase exp but its by something small like 5xp for an iri
-
- Too big
- Stupid amount of loop possibilities with RNG
- Visuals such as scratch marks etc. dont work as well
- Map feels bland and empty, its just random walls with little unique texture/features
I love the idea of a snow theme, its why i love the idea of the saloon but damn is ormand a missed swing. its why i keep hoping the graphic update will change all this on that map.
-
im just saying if the killer isnt good or causing pressure then these perks wont work, they have to chase you off gens for ruin to work and tinkerer is just an info perk they still need to go there and do something. all this does is force you to do totems, and its really not that hard but sooooo many survivors are boosted since the ruin and rank reset changes, ffs i still see rank 2 survivors selfcare for 80seconds odd through sloppy etc. im not surprised killers ruin a build for gen defense, its needed at high rank play.
-
im not being funny but some people just dont do alot in trials, some games ill get 3 teammates that will never do a gen or a chase yet will be red rank against a rank 1. if rank was based on skill or at least on objectives and chases the games would go better, but when you have people that hide all game and get objective points from totems, only go for unhooks due to easy iri benevolent emblems its not surprise they rank up and create games where people arent efficient or even high tier smart, they havent learned that yet and thats at fault of the game. 2safe unhooks, 2 heals = iri, survive so long silver, run forwards in every chase with no knowledge of loops etc. 3 times = silver, getting some totems = bronze, touch a gen for abit = silver. Congrats you can now stay in red ranks by not doing any good chases and hardly touching the only objective. (BTW 4 golds is a pip)
-
id prefer it off, frames are trash with it on, i mean theyre bad on console anyway but worse with it on. Not to mention PC have multiple advantages and iv already ran into multiple hackers... However if i could just do crossplay with PS4 for example then id be up for it, i like balance above all else.

Yeah, you pretty much need to play somebody like Myers or Ghostface with a Mori or hope you get lucky with totem spawns.
Honestly these recent Tome challenges are kinda scaring me (3 Iri Devouts, kill 10 Obsessions, and this one). Are the devs starting to move to challenges that are grindier or are completely reliant on RNG in hopes that we’ll just buy Rift tiers?
for killing 10 obsessions just use a strong killer with nemesis, even throw on a mori if you want, it will allow you to get 4 obsession kills within a single match. personally i just hate the fact there is hardly any wraith or hag challenges considering its their tome
-
Glad to see im not the only one, im curious to if youre on console? either way its just another reason not to play killer, i do notice its even worse on ormand etc.
-
I never use to but the past few days ill kill myself on first hook if the other 3 survivors arent doing gens, im not being funny but im pretty good at doing chases and im getting annoyed going against rank 1 killers with team mates that wont do gens. like i dont care if i de-pip to rank 2, i am not going to stay in a game where the other 3 players arent even trying to do their only objective.

Let's be real about it though, people who run self care refuse to stay injured to do any objectives that's why they run the perk at all , while I can agree certain builds make it useful if you aren't running a trio of support perks you're literally wasting time self caring and for those who say "it's basic math that self care is more efficient" they aren't adding in thanatophobia or sloppy butcher and they aren't doing a gen before they try to heal so objectives aren't getting done, pallets are being used and the self care user is healing for an eternity any time they're injured instead of helping the team try and escape, the gens can all be done in 3-4 minutes if survivors actually do them instead of BS'ing for half the match
Yep couldnt of said it better, i feel since the ruin change and rank reset changes have happened alot of people have gotten much higher in ranks and seem to think that because of it they know about efficiency etc. But honestly the fact a yellow medkit with 8 charges is two health states should be enough to last the game for solo heals, but lets be real most selfcare users arent running all those perks just to heal so they waste time with sloppy etc. if gens are 80 seconds solo but youd rather spend that time selfcaring through thana and sloppy theres probably no hope for you lol.

Self Care isn't bad.
The Blendette who ran to the furthest corner of the map to Self Care against a Sloppy Butcher Legion while another Survivor is currently hooked and another is being chased is bad.
well this is my point, like i said in the post i dont mind people using different perks etc. But quite often i will be on a hook or downed and i shall see survivors miles out the way just healing with selfcare, even if sloppy and thana is a thing thats an awful long time just to heal and a rank 1 killer is likely to have 1 person on hook and chasing another, which leaves two people and if theyre selfcaring youre going to your next phase let alone the very limited amount of gen progress being done. i guess my biggest issue with seeing the perk so much is people that use it often arent doing good chases, gens and will heal before saving even though they know others are being chased.

I mean, I'm on PS4 and using Self-Care... but also I've been using Desperate Measures and Botany Knowledge with it... and I try to find a medkit in chests in the trial, so... Am I a problem?
Once again i dont mind people using different perks, but having players let you skip hook phases, and not doing gens is an issue at high rank play. Like i said though if thana and sloppy is a thing when people just use selfcare they arent really progressing the game, i would say your build is a little overkill in healing, but at least it makes some sense. im mainly on about those people that only use selfcare and will not do gens or save others until they finish healing themselves against sloppy etc. so as long as you dont do that and try play as a team you can use whatever you like mate
-
@Hopesfall said:
Self care is good if used properly.. I don't get the hate. I can go heal up while the others can work on a gen, and I can do it far away from everyone else so the killer doesn't get multiple hits if he finds us healing. Even if sloppy/thana are in play, if the gen count is low.. what's the issue? If someone injured w/sloppy just rushes a gen and killer shows up, there's a person on a hook which now the other teammates have to stop what they're doing and fix that..
self caring while someone is on 2nd hook phase is one thing.. it's another when they are out of the way handling business
the hate comes from when everyone is doing it, i wouldnt normally mind but against high rank killers you cant hide in a corner and heal for 60+seconds while someone is dying on the hook. like i said i dont normally mind different perks being used but being left for dead isnt good, often the people selfcaring dont get much done but heal themselves so thats why...

I will still play the game, cuz I payed good money. But every single game out of the 30+ games I've done solo queue, everyone keeps tunneling and camping. Every. Single. Game. Only one game I didn't get tunneled/camped cuz the killer pitied me and the other Meg cuz two people D/Ced cuz she had Iri-Head.
I try to play other games but I get bored so easily. I don't know which platform it is, but it sure as hell isn't Xbox. I am not disabling cross-play cuz I don't need hour long queue times. Why is this considered a strategy. I literally get face camped, I just wanted to complete a ######### challenge and I can't do that.
It just keeps happening, over, and over, and over again. Why!? Why do people have to ruin another person's experience. Then I get stuck with potato teammates who can't run a killer for 10 seconds and let people get to second phase/die on first hook.
If you read this, thank you, probably gonna take a break from the game and cool my head a bit.
im in the same boat, im rank 1 on xbox and honestly its kinda a joke. i do feel the tunneling is because of the DS bug which people are trying to take advantage of plus alot of randoms dont seem to do much, i tried turning crossplay off but like you say the wait is stupid long! but with it on sadly 9/10 games is filled with selfcare users that let you die on first hook without ever touching a gen. Just know you arent the only xbox user getting annoyed and agitated with it, hell i played 4 games today and my whole team throughout completed 1 gen (thats 12 different players) just for a gen to get done in one game that wasnt done by me lol.
-
hes no different to ONI etc. with his less flick, so while on console hes weaker hes still a really strong killer thats for sure, map pressure and free hits between loops is his strength!
-
i mean id love to be healed, sadly my team mates just crouch round the map and heal themselves with selfcare before hiding lol. sadly i spend 90% of the match injured, i dont have DH or anything that works while injured but if i dont do gens no one will and id hate to just keep going don because my team wont heal me or i cant find them etc. and like others said it removes strats against legion, plague etc. i cant see why a small debuff to repair speed while injured wouldnt work, encourage the heals a little more but not 100% needed. (just a small % like 2%etc.)
-
i made a post about this with a screenshot, i had to be looking up and couldnt even see the killer from the position i was looking yet ws the perfect blind angle. personally over the right shoulder was the best version and that was one of the first, i really dont like the new ones either due to the add angles etc. makes saves so very hard to do on the fly, but tbh frames are pretty terrible atm so saves arent my main issue atm lol
-
i mean its very much OP, doesnt need a huge discussion tbh the communication is the huge factor that makes it so strong. you can easily do swf with people who arent good loopers and still get all the gens done. i never use to do swf and always played solo at rank 1, i refuse to do that now though because im tired of having a team that wont touch gens and just crouch and hide doing selfcare all game... kinda ridiculous tbh so i chill with some mates that arent very good just due to the fact they will do gens, kinda silly when you have to find a group so they will do the only objective in the game lol

Lol are you really going to troll with that? The devs didnt have to say it. There were countless complaints about the flashlights and then suddenly they changed it. And I know personally about the trolling. And people still do it though it's harder for them now. They blind when breaking pallets, vaulting, and the most common one being as you pick up the survivor. Not during the hooking process but the second you bend over, you are blinded. People really really trolled hardcore with them and lots of killer mains complained. So BHVR did what the do best. Nerf the ######### of something.
Its not trolling to actually use the item, if i was able to flashlight save, blind you in a vault, breaking or even grabbing animation that isnt trolling. Trolling would be clicking the flashlight, this change just makes the angle and view completely stupid... why would i want to try shine a light from my crotch when i have an arm? but by your logic using a med-kit or toolbox is trolling
-
Okay so done even more games, still clunky as hell and just off visually... flashlights use to be the one thing that i always use to be good at, could easily get multiple saves a day but now, well im kinda put off. anyone else not liking the changes?
-
im not being funny but rank means very little, iv had so called rank 2`s etc. that dont touch gens, crouch round the map and cant last 5 seconds in a chase... honestly had to stop playing today because i had rank 1 killers with a team that struggled to get 6kpoints in a match. dont forget people at low rank wait ages for lobbies so at some point itl throw them in with anyone so they get a game, ranking is messed up and so it affects the matchmaking sadly, same goes for you as killer, the longer you wait the more likely youll get people not your rank as well.
-
the issue i have is map size, i feel inorder to make a ship interesting and well detailed itd mean a very big ship. navy based ships are also all very narrow corridors except a few rooms such as the dinning room etc. and if you go for a cruiser style well look at resident evil revelations, theyre damn huge... imagine pressuring that! plus poor nurse would blink in the ocean with her buggy ass haha

A mori IS meant to make it easier to win though, that's what you don't seem to understand about them. It is absolutely meant to give the killer an extra advantage over the survivors. Is it currently to easy? I'm not here to debate that but it absolutely is meant to make it easier for the killer. Besides, no one runs a mori for the cosmetic function of them, otherwise you would see at least a yellow mori all the time.
like i said the slowdown does make it easier, i just showed you the possible math so im not sure what more convincing you need that its a strong change and honestly 9% as an ebony would be too OP as the example i gave would be an extra 30seconds on each gen when stacked with other slowdowns (8seconds on its own).
@Kumnut768 said:
just make moris on death hook then you can start releasing more mori animations in the store and stuff that'd be cool
be pointless, people wont buy an ebony mori for 7k if it doesnt benefit them hence why i added the passive slowdown idea and made it third hook
-
@HollowsGrief said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601641#Comment_1601641
None of what you said changes the fact that your "change" to moris is to make them cosmetic only and have no utility. You want a better idea? Keep moris the same as is but require an ebony to have you hook all survivors in the trial at least once before you can kill.
still easy, the point is its not meant to be an easy win just because youre using a mori. getting 4 hooks and 8 downs really isnt hard within a single match, and its not just for cosmetic value if youre gaining a passive slow down that requires nothing at all. you run the offering and you could have anywhere between 2-9% or whatever which is insane on its own, sloppy is only 20% and that only affects healing. imagine having thana (up to 16%) freddy rope add-ons (6%) then a mori (up to 9%) thats 30% odd slowdown on healing and gens... thats insanely strong? only difference is you have to put the work in to get 12 hooks and not 4 and mori.
-
i find hex pretty easy to find but then i actually learn tiles and spawn points, theyre quite predictable and doesnt require everyone to be looking for one hex, besides i used a hex the other day as part of a random perk wheel and it spawned next to a gen so... nope, hexs are best on hawkings, game, preschool, midwitch. theyre the best hidden ones but still predictable when you become more adept, still a huge gamble on killers side
-
@HollowsGrief said:

So replace the ability to remove someone from the game early with a 1% slow down? I ignored that part because of how irrelevant it was.
Lowest was 2% actually if you can read, and the point isnt to make something over powered. im sure youre one of those people that feel the need to mori straight off hook but its a cheap and boring play and shouldnt be in the game, offerings are only meant as a slight advantage not a 100% win chance because you can mori after first hook. afterall number can change and be looked into its about the idea.
-
if theres a key. (sorry but it ruins the game, i could easily run 1 of the couple hundred ebony moris which people wouldnt like so fairs fair) and if theyre a toxic swf, by all means play with your friends but dont be toxic and just horrible through messages its not needed.
-
@HollowsGrief said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/188815/the-mori-change-id-want-as-killer-survivor
People can argue if moris are to strong or not all day long, but making them only usable on death hook makes them cosmetic only and removes any utility they had, I disagree with this change.
Clearly you missed the action speed reduction part. thats Passive slowdown on gens and healing which is pretty strong, and moris are strong due to them removing the need to hook everyone 3 times and also can be done straight of hook, its a cheap and boring play and does need a change, im assume you didnt really read it and just seen it as a mori nerf. but fact is keys and moris ruin the game completely
-
@PsycologicalTrick said:
I would not say the speed reduction is that noticeable (4% percent as the best case), other than that, it MIGHT be a good idea.
numbers can be looked into, but a passive slowdown i feel would be very welcomed over the instant mori after first hook lol. but i do get what youre saying, maybe 2,4,6 so 6% as ebony. i dont want to over do it for balance reasons but id like the memento moris to have a use and for moris to be seen without the hatred that comes with them
-
this happens because there are hardly any players near rank 20, afterall ranking is so easy the only people that rank are new players and to avoid insanely long queue it just throws any in. also if you have crossplay off then youll get more red/green ranks due to a smaller pool of ranks. having said all that though i keep getting red ranks that cant do chases or even touch a gen so...
-
600xp per game, so 12-13 games for 1 tier. this one is taking longer because there have been less challenges overall compared to other tomes. im only on 30 and iv done everything so safe to say im not finishing lol. (i was away for a few weeks)

Ideally this would be resolved by fixing matchmaking as they've been trying to do. If you play more casually, you face worse players. Seems fair enough.
sadly no matchmaking will be perfect, and even still they will constantly be going up and down anyway, but yeah atm every player seems to be red or at least purple if they arent new and all those ranks can be placed together reguardless (within 6 ranks so a rank 1 can verse a rank 7). would just be nice to see some change to help them out, sorta how ruin did for casual survivors that couldnt always hit greats or learn totem spawns etc.
-
@Slashstreetboy said:
I´d argue the same applys for casual survivor players, just not to the extend casual Killers are affected.
There´s also this ongoing trend that requires Killers to play around every possible perk the Survivors can (and do) bring every trial, something that isn´t nearly as prevalent the opposite way, while having to micromanage every step, hook states and gens.
Don´t get me wrong, I appreciate Killer being the harder role. DBD is tough to get into, something I like to tell newer players I somehow get matched with to lessen their frustration, but newer/casual Killers need something to catch up.
well like you say killers have more to worry about and thats due to the 4v1 aspect, iv seen alot of casual ranks 2`s etc. that get quite scared and miss skill checks and some dont mindgame or even look behind them yet still seem to do okay in the match but i see alot of killers really struggle especially at game start, tbh id go as far as make corrupt tier 1 default and change the perk. early game is wayyyy to harsh if the survivors actually do gens
-
Shreds fine, if youre using it all the time then thats your issue, other than that his shred is really good especially with rat liver. his portals on the other hand can be annoying, its hard to keep portals up for map pressure against good teams. if demo had freddy teleport he`d be so much higher, while demo isnt my main choice of killer iv done about 30games in a row (have 150 cakes) and can say hes shred is good and isnt his weakness
-
I mean if theyre saying survivor is easy and arent top % players doesnt that show you that survivor is easy... i mean you dont need to be good at loops, you can drop pallets pretty fast and as long as your team are doing gens its pretty easy. but survivor is easier in the sense you dont have to do multiple things all at the same time, you have very little to worry about and its a 4v1 unlike the killer who has a much harder time with perks at rank 1
-
Depending on how many teachable perks you have will change how long it can take, sometimes iv got tier 3 in 200,000k other times its taken me 3mil to get tier 3. if you havent got tier 1 keep going after the yellow variety perks in your bloodweb till it pops up, good luck!

Then shouldn’t survivors also have the option to avoid killers that are rude and horrible?
id agree thatd be acceptable, but then good killers would also be punished, or people that main spirit etc. which is an issue. cant say i run into many killers that go out their way to be rude and toxic or send racist and sexist remarks, usually theyre reacting to survivors being toic or was toxic pregame. i get why youd want to avoid face camping bubbas etc. but you cant without hurting so many good killers etc.

Reworking an old perk because I feel like it needs it,
Surge: Downing a survivor regresses the nearest 3 generators by up to 8% this effect charges up over 60/50/40 seconds and is stronger the longer it charges for, (20 seconds of charging means 4% at tier 3 then back to 0% to start charging again, lesser amounts still make the gen start regressing)
Honestly if it would just hit the closest gen or have a bigger range itd be fine, hitting the 3 nearest i feel would be over kill. i do love surge but its annoying when you dont even get 1 gen with it :/

because you can remember names and profiles of those people that do it, so if i see a bunch of people i know to be rude and horrible whether thats bad manners, racist, sexist etc. ill just dodge that lobby. im not playing a gme with people like that

If you play games for fun, turn off messages and endgame chat, and just play the game then?
If it's a toxic team or not. If YOURE there for fun, do that. Ignore them, block messages, and play the damned game.
im on console, you can only turn off messages completely and i shouldnt be forced to do that due to one game, i should have to ruin and cause more hassle for all my other games because people cant be respectful. so ill back out and find a new lobby in a min, no issue to me and then i cant play the game. i love how people moan at players that avoid horrible people like wut, why would anyone want to play with people like that, its a damn game they need to grow up a little.

If you’re saying that all profiles should be hidden pre-game, I agree. Nobody needs to see their opponent’s profile before the game even starts.
I mean if i load into a game with a toxic 4 man ill just have to quit at game start, i avoid people that bad manner and send rude messages for 0 reason. i play my games for fun, i play them fair without tunneling or slugging all 4 people. i dont care for the 4k, i hardly use anything above yellow addons so forgive me if i dont wish to verse the horrible side of the community when im just down to play and have a normal game

All of this applies to killers being able to see survivor profiles, by the way.
Shame most survivor perks counter the killers, besides thats still a 4v1 even if that was the case. if you really need to check profiles theres an issue with you, just play the damn game instead of trying to get extra advantages. if balance has to be that perfect swf would be balanced as well as alot of other things. theres no need to see the killers profile at all. Ping to the server sure, profile NOPE. plus you can just set profiles on private so maybe survivors should do that if theyre so inclined to complaining about things that do not matter in the slightest.
-
If you can see my profile then you can see my clips and uploads, this can show my killers and the perk builds i run on them which mean you can full on counter certain builds just because. you can also check my time played, overall kills, achievements etc. all of which would show my 3 years of owning the game, all this will do is make people lobby dodge and back out... survivor is already easy, the killer can see the survivors because theyre meant to adjust to the survivors items etc. and the only time killers back out is due to keys, 4man swf or toxic players and i think thats fair reasons, not like lobbies are long.
