I'm on PS5. I was very eager to see how the slaughtering strike feels on controller now because before it was quite clunky and awkward to use.
I can happily say it now feels very good. Its smoother, its faster, its easier to control around corners and stuff. I was running dead rabbit and Monitor on him and it felt like old Mikey again being able to get those sneaky close encounters where the survivors were blissfully unaware I was coming their way and popping evil incarnate. Hair brush and brutal strength is magic on him too. He chews through pallets like Bubba. I felt like this;
He really feels like a force to be reckoned with now. Proper scary powerful Michael Myers of the movies.
-
Ideally I would have his version of blighted skin be smashed up rotting pumpkins on him.

Stalker mode is slow and make it's hard to traverse without memorial flower basically feels like a mandatory addon to run
I agree with this. Tier 1 got buffed to 4.4 last year. I don't know why they didn't keep it.
-
I've been watching Stalky boi and Scott Jund playing him for the last couple of hours. He seems so much better now. The strike looks smoother, faster, and more efficient to get downs.
Scott's had a drastic change of opinion. He was a big critic of the rework before because of the unnecessary nerfs that came with it, now he's rating Mikey B tier.
-
Probably Michael just covered in goop. Pig is just a regular human being. Michael isn't. I don't think the serum would drastically change him physically.
-
Part of this is unnerfing what they didn't need to nerf from original Mikey like giving him 60 seconds of tier 3 back, giving him his old tier 2 terror radius back, 32m tier 3 terror radius back etc. But I am glad they did it don't get me wrong.
The faster movement speed when activating evil incarnate is the biggest one here and will give you a better chance of getting a down with it. That and increasing the turning sensitivity.
They say they plan to remove the sensitivity modifier altogether from the strike and have it as regular camera sensitivity in the next PTB. I'm not sure why they don't just do this now. Is it that complicated that it needs a PTB test?
Anyway they're all good changes. Not a nerf in sight. Keep the Mikey buffs coming. Remove the stalk decay and give him his old distance speed stalk modifier back next please.
-
Dwight because I just connected with him. I like how he's the little engine that could. The nerdy, repressed underdog who has an inner strength that came through in the face of danger and even elevated him to leader status among the survivors. I also just find him adorable. I love his aesthetic, his cosmetics, his voice….everything. If it ain't Dwight it ain't right.
Michael Myers for killer because I am a huge Halloween fan. He's the reason I bought Dbd in the first place. They had captured the feel of his character from the movies so well. He used to be the most versatile killer when it came to builds and play styles. However his recent rework has removed some of that sadly. I am still trying to find my feet with the new Mikey as there is a lot of his new kit I like. But other areas that need some polish and refinement.
-
Yes I got one last month for 8 years in the fog too.

Did the stats show how solo & SWF preform against her?
Not that I know of. It was just pick rates and kill rates.
-
Skull Merchant was in the top ten. I think that speaks more about the sorry state of solo queue than the killers.
-
Nostromo, Toba, Lery's, Midwich, Hawkins...... over and over for me.
-
Just leave Haddonfield alone. That map is actually playable now for survivor with the pallet changes.

Possibly has something to do with the actress hating horror and not wanting to be associated with the genre anymore maybe?
Jamie Lee Curtis is proud of being part of the Halloween franchise, and always gives it credit for giving her the career she has. I don't think she would have any objections to her likeness being used. Its a matter of cost. Same as with Sigourney Weaver as Ripley. The reason Dbd's Ripley looks nothing like her isn't because Weaver hates the Alien Franchise (she doesn't). Its because it would be very pricey to get her likeness.

Kinda surprised they never did an older Laurie Strode skin.
I would love older Laurie as a cosmetic.
-
Yeah it's ridiculous.
-
Myers because its literally that classic Halloween theme.
-
Nostromo, Toba Landing, Midwich, Hawkins, Lery's…..I see these maps constantly.

I didnt check for the prompt but he ran into me and i did a short swing (the same like old tombstone). It happened twice now, but maybe im just dumb. It works fine with the addon for the old version, so its probably bc they need to be injured or exposed?
I know if they're on their feet, whether healthy or injured, you have to activate evil incarnate to do it and it works like tombstone where he grabs them. If they're slugged you can just regular mori them.

It doesnt work. They are death hook, have 100% no endurance, i only tap the attack button like with old myers and they just get hit normally. Must they be injured?
No you can do it while they're healthy. Are you sure you were not getting the prompt?
-
They have to be death hook. You can tombstone them if you activate evil incarnate. If they're slugged you can just Mori them.
-
They confirmed he's getting more buffs later this month.
-
Agreed. I feel like I see those same handful of maps over and over.

That's not skill expression, that's weakness, don't conflate them
No that's skill, when you have to compensate for what the killer lacks with your own game sense.
-
@lettuchia said:

That's not a challenge, it's just not possible against a good team, and if it was then it would take minimal skill expression because that's how basic m1 killers work
M1 killers have no map mobility, no anti loop etc. They have to play optimally at pressuring gens, mind gaming as best they can at loops to get fast downs. That is massive skill expression.
In no reality should M1 killers be denied buffs just because mechanically they're simple. Buffing them hardly elevates them into A or S tier status.

Why would it not be? People complain about killers being weak but they deserve to be weak if they aren't going to take as much skill as other killers
He's an M1 killer. That in itself is the challenge to excel. Its crazy to think he doesn't deserve buffs because of that.
-
I'd like to think its because the changes they have planned for him are more substantial that they won't be ready in a week.

I hope they keep the current framework of the rework but revert the stalk and tr nerfs and remove slaughtering Strike in favor of how his old tier 3 worked, kinda like the Iri addon he has.
That would be my preferred solution too.
-
Glad you're having fun with it.
I still think it needs some polish and tuning. I agree they need to get rid of the cool down. That start up animation needs to go too. Make evil incarnate last 60 seconds. No decay on the stalk meter if he hasn't stalked anyone for 20 seconds. Give him back his 40m stalking range. Make it lore accurate again too where he stalks faster the further away he is from survivors.
-
Farm it. I did. Otherwise you'll be waiting forever trying to get it normally.
-
I agree.
I want his exposed effect back. Make evil incarnate last 60 seconds. Get rid of that animation when he pops evil incarnate.
-
Pros;
- Unlimited stalk on survivors. Should have been done years ago.
- Being able to switch between stalker and pursuer mode.
- Pursuer mode having extra advantages like base kit brutal/enduring/longer lunge etc.
- Being able to mori/tombstone death hook survivors.
- The stalking stinger returning is great.
Cons;
- Slaughtering strike feels clunky.
- 40m terror radius is unnecessary.
- Reduced stalk range. Go back to 40m stalk range and have it lore accurate again. The further away he is from survivors the faster he stalks them.
- Make evil incarnate 60 seconds.
- Get rid of that start up animation for evil incarnate.
- Get rid of the six second cool down on slaughtering strike.
- Give him his 4.4m/s stalker mode.
- Remove the decay on stalk meter if he hasn't stalked anyone for 20 seconds.

i don't think they hate myers at all . He actually got some really nice QOL changes last year. This rework however missed the mark in some ways . I do hope they walk back some of his nerfs and changes overall. The fact 4 of his current add ons used to be basekit is pretty crazy. I guess they wanted to play it safe at first and see where they could tweak things.
Yeah its ironic isn't it. That bundle of tweaks they gave him last year made him stronger than his overall rework did.
When you're making changes to Mikey, nerfs should never even be in the discussion (unless its tombstone). Like my gosh how do you give Kaneki one nerf but you dump several on Michael.
-
Ghoul and Krasue.
-
Borgo maps.
-
I didn't realize myself until I played him and saw these nerfs in action. On paper his rework sounded like a W.
Kaneki gets one nerf but Mikey gets several in his rework. Unbelievable.
-
Thumbs up on all of this.
-
I wish that was my experience. I've seen her a lot.
-
I think most people agree the slaughtering strike is the main issue with this rework. That and there's too many audio queues for everything Michael does.
-
@Nazzzak said:
Anyone know if he's still controller friendly? Ive seen multiple people say his slaughtering strike is janky, and I know console players tend to feel these things the most.
It still feels clunky. Slaughtering strike needs an overhaul.
-
The slaughtering strike is the only part I am not keen on. It needs polishing or an overhaul because it feels clunky.
I love the rest of the rework. The infinite stalk, the enduring/brutal strength/extended lunge in pursuer mode, being able to tombstone death hook survivors etc.
-
Extremely oppressive. I have never been the greatest of loopers but I struggled to last long in a chase against her regardless of the map.
-
I thought I was the only one who hated it. Its driving me crazy listening to it.

Sure seems that way. What a disappointment. The achievement is entirely impossible if you have even a single spiteful survivor in your lobby.
Its always been that way though. Once you tombstoned your first survivor and they know you have it, they can just sit in a locker and deny you it.
I don't see what's changed now.
-
Its the same conditions as before. They have to be on their feet and grabbed when you do it. Like traditional tombstone.
-
Unbelievable. Stocks in DS are about to sky rocket.
-
Stocks in DS are about to sky rocket.
Love the additional buffs to Mikey, and making the strike feel more lunge-y.

I know but its hard in long hame term and I dont know how good he will be because his first ptb version was mediocre some claimed him to be c-tier and now devs said he will get some smsller changes to his “dash power” and buff to his antiloop bonuses but Idk why he has 40 meters terror radius in tier 3 when he has no mobility like oni this is something I dont uderstand, there are even deadlier killers which dobt have so large tr so why him.
Overall it will be better to get evil incarnate achivement after his rework then now which of s good. The mori part isnt anything super strong because endurance status effect counters it and gran can be denied its just something he should have long time ago.
I don't see the large terror radius in tier 3 being an issue. He's always had a large terror radius in tier 3. It was never stealthy lol. It was even bigger if you were running Monitor or dead rabbit.

So now you can do it without tomstones but you need to 12 hook interrsting, hope they add that the last can be basekit moried or even if mories will work with it because mories still require survivor to be desd on hook which is same just you need to have evil incarnate activated.
You need 8 hooks. You can tombstone them when they're death hook. Just activate evil incarnate and you can grab them and mori them even if they're healthy. He has base kit tombstone for death hook survivors.
-
Hey its the end of an era. One of the last remnants of old school Dbd. Don't begrudge the Mikeys a farewell to some nostalgia.

@Choaron said:
He's not outdated, he's just well-designed and well-balanced.
He is outdated. Everything he does is done better by other killers. If you want to teleport there's plenty of other killers who can do it better than Demo's portal system which survivors can remove too. If you want a lunge attack then there's multiple other killers who can do it better than his shred, and turn when doing it too.
I thought when they got the Stranger Things license back we would see a flood of Demo players. But he's very rare to see. I think that's the reason why.
