to all you PC players, doesn’t it get boring going against Nurses, Spirits, and huntresses constantly? Ever since cross-play that’s all I’ve been going against. Oh and yeah they’re sweaty... like coming out of a steam room sweaty.
you can thank the fact that KB&M makes it so much easier for both survivor and SOME killers for this as well as the ability to lower settings for some maps to lag less.
you'll learn at some point the killers on PC might be sweatier but the survivors are even sweatier though if you play solo you will likely never meet them but trust me survivors on PC are some of the scaries things to go against like clicker macros, godlike looping, 3x360 spins during a chase in an instant thanks to amped up turn rates resulting in some hits flying straight off course, etc.
-
tbh i'm interested as a PC user out of pure curiosity, i'd like to tally and see how many players i come across belong to which system, be an interesting stat to personally track and see which system i get paired up with most

I want Clown to have his traveling circus set up shop in every realm.
tbh i never thought of that i mean he IS someone who roams from place to place so it wouldnt be far'fetched to have clown maps in several of the base game map tiles
-
rats liver and tail should be baseline at least, give him 2 starting portals arleady placed at both ends of the map (+the default 6) and maybe tweak some addons to be more useful by adding an extra 2-3 seconds to alot of them, replace blind addon with oblivious at 30seconds as you recommended and i could see demo being used more often.
been playing with him alot recently and rats liver+tail feel mandatory because portal setup is a slog, for a time saver they sure eat up time.

Myers and Demo are in a pretty weak state, there's no way in hell they're perfect balance.
Myers is the only killer in the game who's power at 1 point in the game can completely run out, he's a worse Oni/Ghostface and the only thing he's given to help in a chase is a 25% vault speed boost.
Demogorgon's Shred also won't function at many regular pallet loops and you can see this even when you watch the top ranked demo in the game currently (Msa_matei he's on twitch.) It works mostly at Shack, T-L walls, and will work at jungle gyms only if a survivor makes a mistake tho.
i did say MY opinion and i never said good just balanced.
if there was more reason to play stealth and loops weren't 100% safety zones so there was more reason to FEAR the killer then yeah both Myers and Demo are awful.
in the current state of the game though they are the most "middle of the road" kind of balanced, they arent high nor low just average
-
Myers and Demo are in my opinion the most "balanced" killers, they have to work for their kills but they have a strong kit only utilized properly by someone with a good sense of judgement and in Myers case a strong set of options to change how he is played via addons.
if anything Demo needs a slight buff making rats liver+tail baseline and 2 pre-placed portals on opposite sides of the map (but one less placable portal from the default of 8)

No matter what else you think about the devs, they are pretty dang good at telling stories through map design (outfit design too, though tbh it's a bit more hit and miss there)
So, which map set and therefore killer backstory would you like to see expanded on?
i want to see a more unique temple layout, thing just feels like a regular map but with an asset plopped into the middle, i want it to all feel different.

No becasue people play with who is available or who they want too.
Your argument could also be said for the most popular swf group of 2 In those past stats so qhy not just bring another 2 friends? They may be matched with 2 solo who could throw the game in the same way.
your argument makes sense but duo's being so high also makes sense, i know alot of "couples" who play any game together without inviting anyone else, likewise there are far more duo of friends in the world playing video games than 3 or 4 man groups, this is easily observed in moba style games or MMO's where their habits are heavily noticed.

Thats not how it worked it was 100% of all players and how they joined the match as individuals. A 4 man did not could as 1 but as 4 individuals.
if that is the case shouldn't 4 man be much closer to 3 man than it is currently? because you will far less likely encounter a 3man than a 4 man because its detrimental to not brind some other friend or person you'd played with before as that 1 random could throw your game by feeding obsession perk stacks and such
-
when i play survivor (im a soloer) if we end up stomping the killer and one of the other morons says "gg ez" i will go down his throat and tell them to stfu because the game was heavily stacked in our favor, then i will give the killer some tips on what they did wrong
-
20+ years huh?
so if i look you up on the wiki's i should find you no?
you fail to mention which games yet went for a catagory, usually someone aiming with a broad brush hoping to hit something.
lets see how fast your claims of being mister big shot are? time for some research.
inb4 "bruh i was a different username back then", insert name that everyone has heard of but not in the past few years hoping nobody questions it.
so far the only "Morthalos" im finding is someone with almost no subribers, no followers on both youtube and twitter and their earliest upload was approx 10months ago which was world of tanks, theres also no mention of you on either twitch nor the wiki's.
likewise for the other "old name" you'll likely throw my direction is "Real420" which again has very little in the way of views, subs and videos beyond a year ago.
so far its looking like someones telling porkies.
its nice to welcome new faces but bro never lie it just rubs everyone wrong trying to take the "im better than all of you" road only to have nothing to back up your claim

The stats from last year showed differently. Bear in mind these were also almost 2 years after the console release.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/719/CPIDC1XE8JBT.jpg
Many assume its swf if they play well together but it's not always the case as a good setup of solo players can and do play better. The amount of times I've been accused of being in an swf when I only play solo is astounding.
i can see a flaw with this tally chart.
solo survivors would EACH be given one point where as a 4man group would only register as 1 point.
for each 4 solo survivors it would give one point into 4man.
so 100 solo survivors will aways be ahead because each individual registers as a digit while the 4man groups will ALWAYS be behind because 4 people in 1 party is 1 party, hence why all the numbers seem to be cut into sections, 2 man groups is almost exactly 1half of solo, 3 man is almost exactly half of 2 man and 4 man is almost exactly half of 3man groups.
kind of odd dont you think that they are almost all exactly half of eachother?
-
@FleshTorpedo said:
Without SWF this game would die. BHVR needs to balance around SWF and buff killers to match.
only way this will even remotely come close to happening if we get voice comms added, give solo survivors baseline kindred, bond and a totem counter (groups dont need this as they are already at an advantage knowing eachother personally, if anything SWF needs handicaps) and giving the killer more power to match the new psychic telepathic network (voice comms) survivors.
without these changes the game will be heavily skewed in favor of pre-made groups.

I find it boring from both perspectives and wish there was more to a chase than just loops, any thoughts?
Edit: I am not saying that looping is bad or should be removed just wondering if people would like more than just looping or if they are fine with how it is.
on both survivor and killer? honestly it just feels cheap and goofy.
i mean the only time i'v ever seen "looping" in a horror movie was...
scary movie... a spoof of scream.at least what i can remember i cant find the scene if someone wants to chip in please do im sure scream get run in circles around the table then stops to catch his breath while the girl continues screaming in circlessays alot when the best survival tactic in DbD is from a joke horror doesn't it?
give us less loops and more stealth in our horror focused game please, add doors to use like pallets but you can also hide bhind but killer can also call you out on said door by slamming it to hurt you if your behind it or hiding behind an open door.
give us us small crawl spaces we can hide in like a locker but lower to the floor so its harder to find for both survivor and killer.
give us windows we can close to slow down the killer or for the killer to close pre-chase so that the vault is denied unless they jump throw it and put themselves into the bleeding state if injured or injured state if healthy.
give us more damned interaction with the maps we play in, slow doen gens alittle, make the killer ACTUALLY SOMETHING TO FEAR!
less of this looping bull crap and more focus on not getting caught by the killer, make games last that little bit longer by slowing down gen speeds AND hook death speed (as in the sacrifice progress) so the killer has more reason to not camp because it'll take so damn long.
-
the school just happens to be the first really "horror" scene you encounter if i recall in silent hill 1 and the first real area you have a bunch of puzzles in one area

What do you think ?
had it used on me along with knock out on ghost face, didnt want that medkit anyways.
-
but hex object of obsession doesnt require you to focus on the... obsession? i mean the point of object of obsession on survivor is that the killer is focused on you so you both see each other, its only because it doesnt have a severe "not obsession" penalty is why its good for trolling i mean 10 metres less as non-obsession? kind of unnoticeable yet game crippling for the killer.
rustle kind of sounds ok though you could bump that up to 40/60/80% and it would still only be somewhat useful on most killers but even 30% is game changing on spirit so im on the fence.
fresh meat having either a 12 second duration but only for the un-hooker with no cooldown and im in.
false trail is borderline broken and should not make it in the game ever, it sounds weak but the ability to not only hide your scratches but make them go another direction is borderline disgusting for the game, some chases with the sheer amount of second chances is bad enough without this on top.
justice sounds fun, quite fun but strong to, maybe only 1 other closest hook rather than 2? would still be strong but not cancerous to deal with especially if the survivor has boil over.
second chance is to much like DS so probably wouldnt be fun to deal with, but if DS got altered into this i'd be game but second chance+DS would be meta on every cancer group in trumps terror radius
-
this would be a crap perk but a much needed baseline addition.

This man is complaining about how their is certain spots on maps where you can lay a trap down and it literally will disappear under the floor. Like i know one of the doorways in the preschool is like that. When you put the trap down on a certain board it will hide itself under the board and its literally invisible.
The ormond main building has a doorway like this as well where you can hide a trap under the floor.
got some proof to back that up? if so would be worth a bug report
-
the whole point of trapper is you are ment to go slow and steady or end up deady, thats part of why most good trappers will usually let the first gen or 2 pop during setup and avoid long chases.
if anything his traps need a buff not a nerf his weakest "darken traps" addon needs to be baseline along with his trap setting speed and his 2 bonus traps bag, give him those base line and i could see trapper becoming C or even B tier.
likewise same issue with demo, his portals can be strong and his presence can be just as strong but whats holding him back is some addons are awful yet required to play him, making rats tail and liver baseline and buffing some of his yellow and green addons slightly would bump him up pretty well, a C tier at least, maybe even B tier if they gave him 2 free placed portals near opposite sides of the map.
-
what totem? all i see is scratches and a gen :)
-
i'd rather it just be a gain one charge every time your aura would have been revealed by a survivor and if a survivor would have revealed your aura you become undetectable for 4 seconds, the undetectable has a 20/15/10 second cooldown. charges reduce your terror radius by 2/3/4 (max 10 charges -20 metres terror radius at rank 3)
this would work as a reverse distortion and would counter alot of the more unfun perks to deal with especially OoO
-
C&P'd from another post but felt relivent here
just had a match, rank 19, 18, 12 (me), 1 survivors vs rank 2 p3 ghost.
game ended in 3 minutes he had downed 2 people in a matter of seconds of the match starting, BBQ holds his hand and found me, decided to just suicide, last guy ran him around for about a minute and a half before inevitably dying.
next game survivors rank 18,13,12(me), 3 vs rank 1 p3 slinger.
game lasted just over 5 minutes where he quickly tunneled down 2 kills, toyed with me as his 3rd, last guy gets immediately gunned down due to BBQ and Iron maiden.
now if "ranks" dont mean anything, they sure as hell look it because the highest ranks are the ones surviving longest and killing efficiently and swiftly.
edit: another game, survivors 4,4, 6, 13(me... yes im deranking now its that bad) vs rank 2 p2 PH, guy swiftly stomps the rank 6 because you cant outrun a good PH even with windows its a lose lose situation and one of the 4's DC's immediately knowing its PH, so i just go and die to end it faster because 2 people aint doing 5 gens.
""""good job so far""""
again if ranks has nothing to do with it it sure bloody looks like it because the higher ranks are crushing the lower ranks.
edit: the sequal : match 3 , survivors are 20,18,13(me) and 5 vs rank 1 clown with an elephent costume head and bloodied clothes but no doubt has p3 as well who had surge, nurse's, BBQ and STBFL, proceeded to stomp 2 survivors into the hook stage within the first minute or so, rescue one, he runs and gets tunneled a few seconds later, rage quits, guy on hook still just suicides, i stop playing and let go of the controls. guy knows i'v stopped caring and sits spamming bottles at me, other guy comes to "help" and he immediately proceeds to down me then hook me when the guy tries to heal me for points, clown was clearly in this to be a bully, i suicide, this angers clown he proceeds to try bully last guy but he to gives up and idles.
"fair matchmaking."
again and again if ranks are no longer an indicator of how good someone is theres clearly been some sort of mis-con-bloody-ception since the top rank killers are mopping the floor with all the new easier targets while lesser rank killers are struggling due to the sheer skill of survivors that are usually also high ranked.
-
isn't Friday the 13th game no longer being supported by the devs because of how poor the player count is?
Jason in DbD would not only bring them alot of money because people would want to play him in another game but the crowd who still to this day pit the "who is the better killer? freddy or jason?" into a money throwing frenzy if people knew both were in the same game because they would try to prove a point that X killer is better than Y killer because look how often i win games compared to Y.
never underestimate a good sales pitch.

Horror doesn't have to be realistic at all. The Thing is horror, yet such a being is completely outlandish. Freddy is completely unrealistic as well.
unrealistic? sure, but they still play on fears that people realistically have.
some people have fears of sharks, especially if they became intelligent or learned to walk on land. unrealistic? sure is but its still a realistic fear for the person, stuff that forms in childhood, an intelligent or more aware human being fears more realistic things, someone with less intelligence or awareness of the world fear less realistic things.

He definitely would. In his Imperfect Form he's essentially a walking horror film; at one point you can literally see the souls of the people he absorbed because he uses that to fuel his power.
Thing is, he's too overpowered compared to, well, humans. He'd either be completely broken compared to other killers or pathetically weak compared to the source material.
no he's a super villain at that point.
horror isn't about how "powerful they are" they are about how much fear and terror they instill, villains bring fear sure, but not personal "your fingers would look good on my wall" sort of fear.
Myers for example is an excellent example of a horror killer because he is obsessed, dangerous yet realistically human, the kind of realistic human you get scared by because a stalker could be watching... you. right. now.
Freddy is terror because you cannot escape from him, sure you can stall by staying awake, and sure he cant hurt you while your awake, but we all sleep, we have to sleep eventually, even quentin learns this, the inescapable terror that is Freddy is he WILL get you eventually because you cant avoid his method of torture forever.
Ghostface is sheer terror that he's a skilled and ruthless stalker who loves making a big story on the papers, so he watches, evaluates and calculates the best way to kill a person before he just goes and does it, he plans it all right down to how messy he does or does not want it to be.
Cell is a super villain, sure he's "scary" in a sense but on a personal and realistic level? he's as scary as Eggman or Thanos, they are far to imaginary to be a horror genre because you cannot relate to it.
next time you walk outside in the dark, think about how many eyes could be watching you, maybe one of those set of eyes has a personal taste for your hair? maybe they'd just LOVE to get up close and personal with your hair... maybe they even want to try it on... even if they have to skin it from you. that small bit of "what if?" or that chilling thought of that being possible? thats fear.
-
same reason DOTA2 is more enjoyable watching it atm.
matchmaking is awful and its less stressful watching others suffer.
-
with hangmans trick i wanted it to work as a reverse BBQ and Chilli where it reveals survivors within the 38 metre range of the hook for 4 seconds. for 12 seconds any survivor within 10 metres of the hooked survivor suffer from the exposed status.
the point i though was it was ment to discourage rush and swarm unhooking so that you can get alittle bit of breathing room just after a hook and buying yourself 12 seconds gap where you can use it to prep, reload, punish a borrowed timer. etc.
-
"BBQ and chilli" to "Mama mia thats a spicy hook"
"Remember Me" to "What was this called again?"
NOED = CBT time

Ugh man I’m tired of stupid teammates. I’ve been against Hag for the last few matches and each time, without fail, a survivor will immediately run when I unhook them, thus setting off all the traps & I sometimes end up paying the price.
What’s even funnier is that they complain about the killer camping lmfao.
people run in general and it urks me greatly, the amount of times people give away their positions just cause of scratches alone is staggering.
if everyone equipped fixated for a day they'd see how they are getting found so easily.

"skill rating" my posterior.
first game as killer this "update", got a 3k, had to sweat for it but got a 3k, as demo. as a rank 15, survivors were 15,15,12,2.
next match?
4 dead hards, 2 unbreakables, 4 d-strikes, 1 prove thyself and the rest was healy stuff.
they brought streamers, oak hook distance, purple mist and coldwind farm.
im a rank 15 killer just stepping foot into this "update", the others were all rank 1, 2,2, 18.
if rank doesnt impact it much, it sure looks it.

Why would you use a 4 man key escape as an example. That's harder than just escaping normally. It adds a whole extra step. Even 3 man escapes are difficult. 2 man escapes are where it really starts becoming an advantage. And last remaining survivor is about 50/50 whether it's more useful to use a key or just open a door depending on what the killer does.
just an example of key usage used perfectly where as a mori still doesnt always guarantee a perfect 4k
-
well just after reading this post figured i'd "test" the "match making", went 2 perk meg for my challenge, she's rank 5 so pretty crap.
me and 3 random survivors were greeted with a p3 doctor with corrupt, pop, monitor and abuse and brutal strength.
game "ends" in 3minutes, finishes at 7 because he decided to slug and break pallets, close hatch, open gates, etc.
end screen shows us that i was a rank 12 survivor, others were rank 8, 5 and 5.
killer was a rank 1 with those 4 perks maxed out, p3, perfect addon combo and brought an pudding.
guy stomped us effortlessly to the point where he left a slug to go farm points.
"""""FUN"""""
-
key by far, if you are coordinated, stealth properly and dont get caught all 4 of you can key escape before the killer can even mori a single person.
mori only works well if people spoon feed the killer hooks.
the moment someone is mori'd early, assume its ebony and go stealth mode.

WHY is this not the top replied to post? this is EXACTLY the point that should be solved.
you dont treat the problem by removing their ability to abuse something, thats not solving the problem thats just letting the problem fester while the people that injected it into the system get to watch.
terrorism works in the same regard, you solve the problem by removing the people creating said problems not remove the people they terrorize.
-
he's B at most.
he still suffers from map control issues he's only been bumped up by his loop control and even then only slightly since a good looper will still bait or escape a good bubba chase.
i mean bubba has always excelled at taking down people in the open, thats part of his strength, cant run or hide from most killers in plain sight, just like a deer in headlights if you can already see it and it sees you then you are already screwed, you survivor was based around not being in the headlights.
i can see alot of the changes are trying to encourage stealth but thats a problem when generators are so loud, stealth is also never going to happen against a good SWF because they can hivemind rush the objectives knowing where the killer is 24/7
-
would you rather more claudette skins that will go un used because blendette = free stealth?

again the whole sore thumb argument. she stands out very well and thats a target for both allies and enemies and if you happen to suchk that game? "hue hue noob with mommy credit card quit game noob"
its just part of real life people will hate you for anything they cant have, cant be and cant beat.
i'v been on that side with the PH cosmetic, i loved the design but i suck at him, got flak for wasting money, like i care about money im sat on over 2 grand as pocket change in most cases so i dont really care about 7.50 munny

Not the point of my thread
maybe but its setting a big target on your back.
the classic ghost face outfit and default mask actually got me some compliments afew games back where i managed to blend in with my crouching so well i got up next to a guy on a gen, he thought i was a survivor till i grabbed him, scared the lot of them pretty well, they loved it, got a 3k but had to sweat for it.
people just like to find a reason to hate you, if you stomped hard and have a fancy skin they will assume your a tryhard in the wrong ranks or in the case of spirit/nurse a no lifer.
-
i just called bubba's fun pit because once you go in you dont get out
-
clown is more comparable to huntress or slinger tbh.
closest killer to new freddy is demo, and the only thing stopping demo from being freddy tier is how sluggishly slow portal placement is (game should start with 2-3 random portals placed dammit) and how annoyingly loud his movement is disallowing you any real mindgame ability
-

i personally want a mask for all the OC survivors, maybe the licence ones if they are feeling kind enough to let bubba wear faces like quentin's or nancy's
-
tbh NOED becoming baseline would be good an bad, yes instant downs at the last stretch is a pretty desired thing, but that speed buff would allow some really bad RNG gates to be un-openable as survivor, just imagine baseline NOED huntress gets lucky and both gates are on the same side+clear hatchet shots or trapper with close proxy gates, you aint escaping.
now if they fixed some of the bull gate spawns so they HAVE to spawn somewhat apart (the game and midwhich are pretty good at this), give NOED baseline, remove the speed buff or slightly lower killer speed while someone is slugged or hooked in end game and maybe make it so you can ALWAYS mori the last survivor i could see "NOED" being just as clutchy as hatch yet equally as acceptable since it rewards you for catching that last survivor while helping making fast games have a catch up mechanic which vs really altruistic SWF groups would allow already power housed games to slow down enough so the killer can at least MAYBE if they work alittle to catch someone get a kill in, especially if its a last man mori, nothing more fun that getting a mori on at least one guy in a SWF group.
then to balance out the hatch a little make it so while 2 or more survivors are still alive its semi transparent and less obvious, if a survivor stays near it for far to long (just like cage camping) it'll move somewhere else unless there's only 1 survivor remaining in which case it becomes solid and opens and its fair game for whoever escapes first.
now if the killer closes a hatch and theres only one survivor left, gates need to slowly progress on their own to discourage this gate camping crap till the entity steps in, make it progress at maybe 2% per second OR if the only survivor is in the match and gates are still closed the switch no longer shows the progress of the gate and the audio of the gate opening is 50% quieter allowing that last survivor who cant get the hatch a CHANCE at escaping as currently 1v1 unless you get a really slow killer or very BS sized maps, you wont be opening gates alone because if he see's progress, he knows your near and if they spawn close enough to patrol you cannot make progress without dying.
then maybe rework NOED so for each survivor still alive add 25% more audio to the gates opening and 50% slowdown for gate opening times so the perk can slow down the end game but can be countered by killing the hex, then the hex called no one ESCAPES death can actually more accurately slow peoples ESCAPES rather than people just dying in one hit.
i will probably get some flack for these ideas but at least debate them before you just say "nah killer buff/nerf or survivor buff/nerf"
-
i find it fun to use soulguard with flip flop, unbreakable and boil over for some incredibly annoying "ha ha you cant keep me down" runs.
